[0:00] She has the capabilities to do it all, [0:03] which is uh something I haven't said in [0:05] a long time in fighting games in [0:07] general. I think I think she might be [0:08] the one. [0:12] So, she's an alien warrior. She's this [0:14] queen of this planet that's basically [0:16] dying. Uh and she's looking for a large [0:19] enough energy source so she can save her [0:21] people. Uh noble ambitions, but by any [0:24] means necessary. And so you kind of see [0:26] the events play out in the show where [0:27] she's basically attacking a facility [0:29] very similar to the one that you see [0:31] here in our game uh where she's trying [0:32] to, you know, get energy for her people. [0:34] She carries uh like her people's uh [0:37] staff of leadership. Basically, she uses [0:40] it to drain energy. So her hook is [0:43] essentially that energy drain. She can [0:45] actually steal your meter, your boost [0:47] gauge by using her forward special. Uh [0:49] and you see there up at her boost gauge, [0:51] if she has all three boost bars, it [0:52] actually has this max indicator. Once [0:54] you have that max, you can actually [0:55] amplify her normal boost damage to get [0:58] extra impact. So, for example, here's [1:01] her down special, which is sort of like [1:03] a DP kind of thing. But then if you [1:05] boost it, single boost, she gets this [1:08] armored version of that same thing. But [1:09] then if you hold it, you get the max [1:11] boosted version, which is only available [1:12] when she has max boost. So really [1:14] impactful, but it costs two bars of [1:16] boost. So, we needed to not only convey [1:19] in gameplay and on UI, she is draining [1:22] energy, but we also need to convey once [1:24] she reaches that boost max state that [1:26] you have that ability available for you. [1:29] Let's say you initiate boost max, [1:31] there's a little burst to indicate it, [1:33] right? And then once you start to drain [1:35] boost from the other player and such, [1:36] you'll you'll get that little indicator [1:38] of not only are you draining, but you'll [1:40] see your opponent's boost bar also get a [1:42] little of their energy being drained as [1:44] well. So then another way that she can [1:46] actually manipulate the boost gauge is [1:48] by using her super too. So she creates [1:49] this force field around her which is [1:51] going to absorb projectiles that'll [1:52] actually give her boost back as well. Uh [1:54] but the thing is if you're close to the [1:56] opponent it's actually going to refill [1:57] her boost gauge as well. She also can [1:59] fight really well because of the the [2:01] weapon mid-range. I think she's got a [2:03] bit of keepaway in her. Like she does [2:05] throw out projectiles but she actually [2:07] doesn't have a really good projectile in [2:09] terms of like going into like a trade [2:11] war. They're non-traditional. So, as [2:13] they travel, you really don't get hit by [2:15] the travel. You get hit when they stop [2:17] and they kind of have this little pulse. [2:19] And it's kind of a good keep out tool, [2:20] right? You'll see the projectile stops [2:21] and it zips forward. But you can also [2:23] aim it up or down. So, downward goes [2:25] down then up. Up goes up then down. The [2:27] boosted version has this whole path that [2:29] clears out in front of you. [2:31] >> Looking at her general kit, I think a [2:33] lot of players might think of her as [2:35] possibly a zoner. I like to rush people [2:38] down. That's just how the West Coast was [2:39] raised. This character has so many [2:42] unique ways to force a character like [2:45] across the screen. Uh like her charge [2:47] air normal causes a ground skid. This [2:49] heavy is going to be insane as a whiff [2:52] punish tool. If she air dashes towards [2:54] you, she's going to be reaching out [2:55] pretty damn far. One of the biggest [2:58] things I really do enjoy with her is her [3:01] mobility combined with that down heavy, [3:03] especially in the air. It's just so [3:05] ambiguous. You're going to have so many [3:06] opportunities with this character to mix [3:09] your opponent up in neutral um with [3:11] their movement alone. She definitely [3:14] feels like a very significant threat [3:17] against everybody in this game [3:21] >> because she doesn't have a projectile [3:22] assist. It's probably better to team up [3:24] with characters that do have projectile [3:25] assist to help her approach. So, I think [3:27] anyone like a robot or Cecil or any are [3:30] actually really good choices there. Uh I [3:32] actually still like Mark for his forward [3:33] assist. I really think that's a great [3:35] approach to like cast people off guard, [3:36] helps you approach, makes an opening for [3:37] you to get in there. Uh I think her air [3:40] jump heavy or air jump down heavy I [3:41] should say is a really great crossup [3:42] tool too if you are trying to approach. [3:44] So anyone that can lock them down for a [3:45] moment and give you this option to jump [3:46] in and just mix them up on which side [3:48] you can be with air down heavy I think [3:49] is going to be really useful. Anybody [3:51] also with an assist that causes even [3:54] more of a juggle in your combos, right? [3:56] I like to pair her up with someone like [3:59] um Invincible for the back assist [4:01] uppercut. I like to pair her up with [4:03] Adam Eve for the back assist projectile [4:05] to set her up even further for either a [4:07] corner carry or set you up for boost, [4:09] drainage, what have you. She has the [4:12] capabilities to do it all, which is uh [4:14] something I haven't said in a long time [4:17] in fighting games in general. I think I [4:19] think she might be the one.
