[0:00] Anyone remember from back in the day [0:01] that whole thing about yelling fire in a [0:03] crowded area being like a big no no [0:05] because of you know how dangerous it can [0:07] be to do something like that? Well, I [0:09] think there is a word more powerful that [0:11] instills more fear and it's Pokemon. If [0:15] you say Pokemon in a crowded area, get [0:17] ready for dead bodies to just start [0:19] hitting the floor. If you covered [0:21] yourself in raw meat and dove into the [0:23] middle of open water in the ocean, there [0:26] would be less sharks that eat you alive [0:28] than had you covered yourself in Pokemon [0:31] packs and walked into a target. You are [0:33] just surrounded and completely devoured [0:37] by scalpers. Like it's it's piranhas [0:40] that just attack you from out of [0:42] nowhere. If they smell that you have a [0:44] Pokemon pack nearby, it's like a Looney [0:48] Tune scene where they come in and just [0:49] eat all your flesh off and it's just a [0:51] pile of bones that collapse. Now, before [0:53] I start passionately [ __ ] and [0:54] spitting about the terrible state of [0:57] Pokemon and the scalpers that infest it, [0:59] I do want to put something positive on [1:02] your radar. Right now at Star Forge, [1:04] we're doing our big summer sale. So, if [1:05] you if you've been looking to upgrade [1:06] your PC, now is the perfect time to do [1:09] so. huge savings across the board on [1:11] everything at Star Forge. There's a link [1:12] in the description if you're interested. [1:14] So, obviously, I'm going to be yapping [1:16] about some more scalper degeneracy where [1:18] they go out in public and fight and [ __ ] [1:20] each other to get their hands on some of [1:22] these cards in order to flip it online [1:24] for a slight profit. But before doing [1:26] that, I want to show you just how out of [1:29] control this is across the board from [1:31] companies as well that are trying to [1:33] capitalize off the Pokemon hysteria. A [1:36] new product from Pokemon here. First [1:38] Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 [1:40] launched yesterday with an MSRP of $15. [1:44] That means that's the price you should [1:46] expect to pay for that product through [1:48] retailers. It's the manufacturer [1:49] suggested retail price. And this new [1:53] collection here was suggested at $15. [1:57] But as you can imagine, that's a fairy [1:59] tale. That's a [ __ ] pipe dream. I'm [2:01] more likely to hit a growth spurt in my [2:03] 30s than you are to find this product [2:05] for anywhere close to 15 clams. And it's [2:09] not just from scalpers. If you try to go [2:10] into a GameStop, for example, to get it, [2:13] they are selling it for $60. That is [2:16] shameful. That is downright [2:17] embarrassing. GameStop is already like a [2:19] pathetic joke that is only held up from [2:22] theium from the community that has [2:23] bought into the idea that they can make [2:25] oodles of cash off of them. But the [2:27] actual store itself is complete dog [2:29] [ __ ] It's garbage. The only thing it's [2:31] good for is like retro game prices or if [2:33] you're a gambling addict and you just do [2:35] the [ __ ] GameStop power packs for [2:37] Pokemon cards. But they can't even do [2:38] that competitively compared to the other [2:41] Gamba Pokemon packs out there. The power [2:44] packs from GameStop are far and away the [2:46] worst value you can find. So even if you [2:48] are just like oozing grease and like [2:51] heavily addicted to Pokemon pack [2:53] gambling, GameStop power packs are your [2:55] worst [ __ ] option. They can't even be [2:57] competitive in that space. There's still [3:00] trash there, too. It's so cringe how bad [3:02] GameStop is. So, now they [3:04] unapologetically [3:06] have these uh collection series 2 going [3:09] up for $60 when MSRP is 15. Of course, [3:13] they're not the only losers doing that. [3:16] But it's not like this is across the [3:18] board everyone's doing it because take [3:21] for example Best Buy. They are selling [3:23] it in MSRP $15. So it's not like So I [3:27] don't think that argument works in [3:29] defense of GameStop, the hiding in [3:31] numbers like, "Oh, we're blanket [3:33] protected because it's just common [3:35] practice. Everyone's doing it. [3:37] Everyone's smoking these doinks, so we [3:39] had to smoke it, too." It's just [3:41] extraordinarily shameless. Companies [3:42] like GameStop that are okay, proudly [3:45] marking up to $60 to match the standard [3:48] scalper prices, which are right now $60. [3:51] If you go to TCG Player, there is not a [3:53] single listing at MSRP. And a lot of [3:55] these come from real legitimate card [3:57] shops that are just now all gung-ho all [4:00] aboard the huge markup train to [4:03] capitalize off the Pokemon hysteria [4:05] because the simple fact is people keep [4:08] buying it. It's MSRP of 15, but there's [4:11] tons of people that are still buying at [4:13] 60. Stop. Just [ __ ] stop. I promise [4:17] you're going to be okay not just [4:19] throwing 60 to balloons down the [ __ ] [4:21] to get your hands on this new product [4:23] here. You're not going to be arrested [4:25] for refusing to pay scalper prices. It's [4:27] not a requirement. And get this, if you [4:30] stop buying at that price, they'll stop [4:33] marking it up to that price. They only [4:36] get away with doing that because they're [4:37] people that still gluttonously just [4:39] consume no matter how big the markup on [4:42] this new product is. I've seen a lot of [4:44] people discussing the GameStop inflated [4:46] prices in particular. And I saw this [4:49] post here about how this individual [4:51] apparently asked the manager why they [4:53] jacked the price up so much. And of [4:56] course, take all this with a grain of [4:57] salt as a [ __ ] Facebook post. This [4:58] could have just been him in a khole and [5:00] [ __ ] falling asleep and coming up [5:02] with this dream. But this is something I [5:05] have seen expressed throughout the last [5:07] few months about certain scalpers and [5:09] companies justifying their huge markups. [5:12] So, according to this post, she said [5:14] it's to keep all the resellers and [5:16] scalpers out of the stores and buying [5:18] and to give all the nonresellers a [5:20] chance to buy Pokemon products, which I [5:22] think is completely ridiculous. And as [5:24] this post points out, so they're trying [5:26] to give people who don't resell a chance [5:28] to buy, but you've jacked the price up [5:30] so much that normal people can't afford [5:33] to buy it. It doesn't make any sense. [5:35] Also, to go a bit deeper, if the goal [5:37] was to get scalpers and resellers out, [5:39] cut the plastic. Sell it MSRP, cut the [5:42] plastic. That immediately gets rid of [5:44] every scalper and reseller there because [5:46] the plastic is now gone. Anyone who [5:48] actually does want to collect the [5:50] product or open the product doesn't care [5:52] about the plastic being cut. It's [5:53] something Target recently started doing [5:55] with that viral video that popped off [5:56] with the Target guy cutting the plastic, [5:58] much to the chagrin of a lot of scalpers [6:00] that were definitely watching in horror. [6:02] That is the optimal way of handling it. [6:04] If the goal is to get the scalpers and [6:05] resellers out, jacking the price up to [6:07] match scalper prices does the opposite. [6:10] If you just want them out, cut the [6:12] plastic. You don't hurt the normal [6:13] customer. You only hurt the scalpers, [6:15] which is a big W. But I think we are all [6:17] smart enough to realize the real reason [6:19] they have the prices through the [ __ ] [6:21] roof out the wazoo. It's because they [6:24] want to just continue to financially [6:25] capitalize off people's inability to [6:27] control their spending when it comes to [6:29] new Pokemon product. So, they move [6:32] product at $60. They're not going to [6:35] drop the price down now. And the thing [6:37] is, even if they did, they're not wrong. [6:40] If they did sell it MSRP, it would be [6:42] mainly scalpers and resellers gobbling [6:44] most of it up because they are botting [6:47] every time there's an MSRP drop for [6:49] anything Pokemon related. They are [6:50] camping out at the stores for 12 [ __ ] [6:53] hours to be first in line to grab every [6:55] single one of them that they can fit in [6:56] their [ __ ] arms. And it, they're [6:59] right, it would go to scalpers and [7:01] resellers, which is why cut the plastic. [7:04] They immediately stop. Cut the plastic [7:06] on every Pokemon product you sell. Then [7:08] it only ends up in the hands of people [7:09] that actually want it instead of the [7:11] scalpers that just look to make a quick [7:13] buck off of it. But again, they're not [7:16] they're not going to drop the price to [7:17] MSRP. The point is, even if everyone was [7:20] selling at MSRP, it would be mainly [7:22] scalpers and resellers that continue to [7:25] get the lion share of it because that's [7:26] what it is right now. They are [7:28] constantly botting. They are doing every [7:30] underhanded tactic imaginable so they [7:32] can have so much inventory to jack up [7:34] the price to absurd heights. I truly [7:36] wish that I had like a connection to a [7:39] distributor to get wholesale product cuz [7:41] I would just perpetually sell it MSRP [7:42] and cut the plastic off and do [7:44] everything I could to face [ __ ] these [7:45] scalpers. It's just it's very rare to [7:49] get MSRP product that isn't immediately [7:52] gobbled up by these [ __ ] parasites, [7:54] these disgusting worms. But anyway, [7:57] enough ranting about the prices of [8:00] what's happened to this hobby. A hobby [8:01] which by the way was originally meant [8:04] for children. Uh let's go ahead and talk [8:06] about or show you rather a guy who [8:09] showed off a gun at the Pokemon vending [8:10] machine to try and intimidate a child [8:12] while he was trying to camp it out to [8:14] get some Pokemon product of his own. [8:38] Misties. [8:46] >> Oh, you get the you get the booster box [8:48] and I'll get the [8:49] >> I'll get the booster box. [8:51] >> I kind of feel bad, bro. [8:53] >> I kind of feel bad. If you guys want the [8:55] box, we'll take the 10. [9:02] >> Oh, there you go. Taking the box and the [9:04] and the [9:06] and the ETV. [9:08] >> That's pretty cool, man. Meth out Slim [9:10] Shady here flashing a gun at the people [9:12] waiting at the vending machine, [9:14] including a child. There's actually [9:17] another kid there as well that comes in [9:18] towards the end of the video and and he [9:21] just flashes his gun at them. And I [9:23] think it's blatantly obvious that he's [9:25] doing that on purpose. Apparently, he [9:27] had been there for quite a while and the [9:30] others that were waiting in line were [9:31] getting a little antsy about it. And the [9:33] kid in that video starts heckling this [9:36] [ __ ] loser. So, the kid wasn't even [9:38] afraid after the guy flashed his gun at [9:40] him, which I believe the whole purpose [9:41] was to get everyone to pipe down. Stop, [9:44] you know, insulting him for being such a [9:46] loser. [9:51] >> You guys get it, buddy. Good luck, guys. [9:53] >> Thank you. [10:07] >> Nothing crazy. [10:10] >> We'll leave you guys to singles. [10:11] >> You're good. [10:12] >> You can hear the kid say, "I guess that [10:14] 5hour wait paid off, huh?" to the guy [10:16] who's now taken the walk of shame out of [10:19] there again after he had just flashed [10:21] his gun at a child by the way. So, two [10:25] other people also left because this guy [10:27] apparently was just taking an extremely [10:28] long time to do his business here. It's [10:32] just so pathetic, man. What an [10:34] unbelievable loser. There's already been [10:36] a shooting at a Pokemon vending machine. [10:38] I covered that. So, this shit's just [10:39] crazy that that this isn't even the [10:41] first time about a gun being shown, at [10:44] least not used in this case, over [10:46] Pokemon cards at the Pokemon card [10:48] vending machine. [10:50] Security. Security. [10:54] >> Relax. [11:00] >> Little [ __ ] [11:04] >> I can't see. [11:08] >> Some wonderful sloppy fighting over [11:10] Pokemon cards there. The way that [11:12] they're just rolling around on each [11:13] other, throwing these wet noodle [11:15] punches. This [ __ ] looks like something [11:16] you'd see at a Tory Bash back in the [11:19] day. Kind of a deep cut reference, but [11:21] that game did slap. But point is though, [11:24] these two are now ground and pounding to [11:26] get their hands on Pokemon cards there [11:29] as the others look on. And one person [11:32] there even says, "None of us should get [11:34] cards." Yeah, you know what? Fair [11:36] enough. The second the knuckle [11:37] sandwiches start flying, they should [11:39] just shut the entire [ __ ] thing down [11:41] for the day. Absolutely. I feel bad for [11:44] her kid though because it seems like she [11:46] actually is there to get Pokemon product [11:48] for her kid because at least she was [11:50] mature enough to realize that fighting [11:52] over Pokemon cards is pathetic and just [11:54] disgusting. Yeah, there's so many other [11:57] scalping fights that I could cover for [11:59] today, but I've already been yapping a [12:01] lot. It's It is actually happening every [12:04] single day. It's just so [ __ ] out of [12:06] control, man. Anyway, stop paying uh [12:10] crazy like GameStop prices for Pokemon [12:13] product and scalper prices for Pokemon [12:15] product and it will stop happening. They [12:18] they'll stop doing it. Just want to [12:20] remind you of that. Anyway, that's [12:22] really about it. Tip.
