## Summary

This video provides an overview of the best DPS, tank, and healer specializations in the Midnight beta for World of Warcraft, based on community perception. The creator, Sky, highlights the strengths, gameplay changes, and overall feel of each spec, offering insights into which classes are dominating and why.

### Key Points

- **Introduction and Sponsor** [00:01] — Sky introduces the video, promising to discuss the best specs in the Midnight beta. He then transitions into a sponsored segment for the game 'Heroes of History', a civilization builder with hero progression, offering a promo code 'comebackkids' for a legendary hero.
- **Elemental Shaman: A Superstar Spec** [02:06] — Elemental Shaman is highlighted as a top-tier DPS spec with excellent changes. Fire builds feature 'Voltaic Blaze' for AoE Lava Burst, while lightning builds use 'Tempest'. The spec retains strong cooldowns like Ascendance and Fire Elemental, and its Apex talents enhance Elemental Overload for machine-gun ability spam. Utility remains a key strength with totems, Bloodlust, and crowd control.
- **Frost Mage: The Biggest Surprise** [03:10] — Frost Mage received a top-to-bottom rework and is considered one of the best overhauls. The Shatter mechanic is now a debuff that explodes with abilities like Ice Lance. Icy Veins is replaced by Ray of Frost, which can be talented for AoE damage and leads into Comet Storm or Frostfire, shattering all stacks. The Apex talent summons icy projectiles. The spec is praised for its fun rotation and crowd control, making it a premier choice.
- **Unholy Death Knight: True Minion Master** [04:31] — Unholy Death Knight is a major winner, finally embracing the plate-wearing necromancer fantasy. The spec focuses on building undead ghouls, detonating them for damage, and raising them again, creating a swarm of minions. The Apex talent, which upgrades Death Coil and Epidemic during Army of the Dead, is currently underwhelming due to tuning, but the overall direction is highly praised.
- **Feral Druid: Cleaned Up and Exciting** [06:01] — Feral Druid has been cleaned up, with button bloat trimmed and a stronger focus on the bleed and bite fantasy. It gains an AoE Feral Frenzy-like ability with a cool animation. Combo point generation is faster, procs are smoother, and cleave options are better. However, the Apex talent is considered boring, just a chance to proc a Flicker for damage.
- **Devourer Demon Hunter: New and Unique** [07:21] — The new Devourer Demon Hunter spec offers a unique, visually impressive playstyle with collapsing stars and void eye beams. The rotation is burst-heavy and setup-reliant, with big payoff moments. It's simple to pick up but hard to master, and the Apex talents focus on fueling collapsing stars. The spec retains Demon Hunter mobility and survivability.
- **Affliction Warlock: Back to DoTs** [08:28] — Affliction Warlock returns to its damage-over-time roots, with Malefic Rapture removed. Soul Shard spenders are now Seed of Corruption for AoE and Unstable Affliction for single-target. Damage ramps into big moments, and the new Dark Harvest cooldown chunks enemies with DoTs. The Apex talent amplifies priority target damage with Haunt.
- **Enhancement Shaman: Best Design in Years** [10:01] — Enhancement Shaman is considered the best design in years, with filler abilities like Storm Strike and Lava Lash dealing more damage. Button bloat is pruned, and Voltaic Blaze is now effectively always active. Ghost Wolves is a passive proc. The Apex talent enhances Crash Lightning and provides occasional free uses. The spec brings insane utility, making it a potential main.
- **Devastation Evoker: Excellent Spot** [11:16] — Devastation Evoker is in an excellent spot, with a cleaned-up talent tree and smoother empower abilities. A talent allows Deep Breath to be used back-to-back, especially with Scale Commander, leading to constant breath usage and buffs. The Apex talent amplifies burst windows. It's recommended for players who enjoy high-impact spells and big crits.
- **Vengeance Demon Hunter: Real Durable Tank** [12:39] — Vengeance Demon Hunter's survivability is now frontloaded and reliable. Fiery Brand is a true defensive, Frailty is simpler, and Feed the Demon rewards proper fury spending for better Demon Spikes uptime. The Apex talent procs a free Metamorphosis, fixing fury capping. The Annihilator hero talent leans into an aggressive tank fantasy. Overall, it feels like a real durable tank.
- **Blood Death Knight: Modernized** [14:09] — Blood Death Knight has been dragged into the modern era with massive button bloat removed and maintenance talents deleted. Survivability is less spiky and less dependent on perfect timing. Death Strike remains impactful, and proactive play is no longer punished. AoE control and flow are improved with better Death and Decay interactions and hard-hitting Blood Boil. The Apex talent enhances Dancing Rune Weapon and plague stacking.
- **Restoration Druid: More Reactive** [16:08] — Restoration Druid has been pruned and shifted towards more reactive gameplay. Regrowth is now a primary heal, with talents like Nature's Bounty providing splash healing. Swiftmend is stronger and ties into tree spawning. Traditional HoT-centric play is toned down, with Soul of the Forest pushing value across multiple targets. It's considered the best-designed healer in terms of feel and cohesion.
- **Preservation Evoker: Smooth and Cohesive** [18:00] — Preservation Evoker feels better to play despite losing Spirit Bloom. Power is shifted into Dream Breath, Echoes, and Verdant Embrace. The Apex talent replaces Reversion with a smart bouncing heal that auto-procs on Dream Breath. Hero talents Flame Shaper and Chrono Warden offer distinct playstyles. The spec traded complexity for smooth flow and strong identity.

### Conclusion

The Midnight beta showcases a variety of strong and reworked specs across all roles, with Elemental Shaman, Frost Mage, and Unholy Death Knight standing out as top DPS choices, Vengeance and Blood as excellent tanks, and Restoration Druid and Preservation Evoker as well-designed healers. The overall direction emphasizes fun, thematic gameplay with reduced button bloat and more reactive, satisfying mechanics.

legendary so far. New Apex talents, hero talents, theory crafting, and new course, comes a brand new season of Mythic Plus, and a whole new meta to gentlemen, to the channel. My name is Sky, and today we're going to be talking
about the best specs overall on the Midnight beta right now, and why they're dominating, and what makes them so great individually. Of course, this is all This is just a current community perception of all three role types. All
strategy game called Heroes of History. It's way more fun than I thought, man. It's basically a civilization builder mixed with like hero progression. So, screen and waiting days for anything to happen. You're expanding your city.
progressing throughout history, and recruiting historical heroes. You build, you gather, you unlock new areas, and you really watch your city evolve. It hits that strategy itch that I love, but not having to spend hours to make
progress. It's just steady, satisfying upgrades every time you log in. I gotta heroes you get to build around. I've been running Leonitis as my frontline DPS. Behind him, I got Otto von Bismar for buffs, support, and tanking, and
then Nia from the Cave Clan to keep everyone healed up during those longer simple, but once your heroes scale up and you progress through history, it turns into these really fun multi-unit fights and boss encounters. Plus,
there's also a winter event going on right now until December 26th, so it's a great time to log in, power up your squad, and grab some extra rewards for it a try, use the link below and use the code comeback kids. That unlocks your
first legendary hero way faster so you can actually build the team that feels good early. Scan the QR code on screen, join in, and let me know what kind of heroes you guys get. At the end of the day, it's your city at your pace. Thanks
today's video. link below if you guys want to try it out. Starting off first, shaman. Elemental has always been a very flashy DPS spec, and I got to say, I They've made wonderful changes to the
builds, whether you want to go fire with lava burst or lightning with, of course, Tempest. For your fire builds, you have your flame shock being turned in voltaic blaze, where it makes you shoot out AoE lava burst, which feels amazing. Shaman
also still of course has those nuclear damage cooldown windows with ascendance also being paired now with your fire elemental when you activate it. Their apex talents feel great. It's all about upgrading elemental overload and having
you just shoot out a machine gun of abilities to even double up on it. Listen, when it comes to class pruning, I think both shaman DPS specs made it out very, very strong and anyone would be happy to pick up elemental as a
Shaman is of course how much utility they bring. They got all their totems. They bring blood lust, crowd control, you name it, the shaman has it. And if you combine that with how much fun they are by themselves, they're going to be
possible. So, I think they hit the nail on the head with elemental, a superstar spec so far on the midnight beta. Moving on, next, we got to talk about the frost mage because this is a class that is probably the biggest surprise on the
entire list. Frost Mage is one of the very few classes that got pretty much a top tobottom rework, but it's easily amongst one of the best overhauls in the game by far. Your shatter mechanic works as like a debuff that you pop and
explode on enemies with things like ice lance and some other abilities. Icy veins isn't your major cooldown anymore. It's replaced with ray of frost. So, you channel ray of frost and it deals a bunch of AoE damage if you talent into
it, which feels nice. At the end of Ray of Frost, you can also cast Comet Storm you're Frostfire, that will also cast a meteor and shatter all your shatter stacks, which feel phenomenal. Also, whenever you shatter, you have a chance
to summon your Apex Talent that shoots out icy frost from the ground toward enemies to explode and deal a nice little wave of damage. I am in love with cleaned it up, and I think it's very, very exceptional in terms of rotation
and overall fun gameplay design. If you've ever been curious about playing frost mage right now could be absolutely the perfect time to try this spec. I premier spec right now. The other two, I think, are severely lacking. And you
combine the amount of fun this spec brings with all the great crowd control you can have in mythic plus with slows and roots. Frost mage is absolutely back in Midnight World of Warcraft. Moving on into A tier, very close to S tier, we
got to talk about Unholy. Now, Unholy is one of the biggest winners and honestly one of the hottest topic specs on the beta right now. Blizzard finally dropped the Festering Wounds, you know, miniame. Took all that BS out and put this spec
into the direction we all wanted, which is a platewearing necromancer, summoning armies of the undead to do your bidding. That's what it's all about. Now, your loop is building up undead ghouls. You can detonate them and raise more
damage. Whenever you detonate your minions, you can also raise them back again. So, you end up with a whole swarm of skeletal, you know, minions and casters just nuking things alongside your abominations. It looks sick. It's
genuinely fun to play. Incredibly thematic and definitely direction. I think we were all hoping Unholy was going to go in. I will say I'm not yet, though. It upgrades Death Coil and
Epidemic a little bit during Army of the Dead, but right now it just doesn't feel numbers and tuning is all going to be all over the place. It just feels mostly like they're just slightly amplified versions of Death Coil and Epidemic. I'm
hoping that changes come launch day and things feel really good for them. So, if that's the case, I think this Apex talent will perform very, very well. Bottom line, though, is Unholy is now, of course, a true minion master blowing
up your own ghouls to spread plagues. You summon these armies of the undead, and it finally matches the fantasy this class needed. I'm really excited to see option for me heading into the new expansion. Next up, talking about Druid,
for a long time, I've wanted them to clean up Feral. And in Midnight WoW, lot of the jank. They trimmed out all the button blow and leaned harder into that bleed and bite fantasy, which I think is really cool. They gave them
access also to an AoE feral frenzy like ability, which is really nice. Has a really, really cool bleed sort of flicker clone animation, which is have faster combo point generation, smoother procs, better cleave options,
and I think in general, man, I got to say, I think they did a really excellent job with this spec, and it's the first time I've been excited about feral for many, many expansions now. I will say when it comes to the Apex talent, this
is my one downgrade about them. I think they're one of the most boring and bland Apex talents in the game. Pretty much it's just a chance to proc a flicker to deal some damage to a nearby enemy. I think it's very boring, pretty
this and update it. Other than that, really happy. Feral still brings that, their cooldown windows. Solid off healing for Mythic Plus if you need it. bottom line is that if you thought about ever picking up Feral, this is
for you to pick up this class and see how it feels for you, man. Really excited about Feral so far. Next up, I'm going to keep this one short and sweet. We have the brand new kid on the block, the Devourer Demon Hunter. This is the
brand new spec coming for Midnight for Demon Hunter. It's a very unique and visually impressive play style. Vastly different from your typical, you know, Havoc Demon Hunter DPS gameplay style, and I think it feels great to play. You
got collapsing stars popping off for hundreds of thousands of damage, void the celestial eye beams going out. The rotation is very, very burtheavy and setup reliant. So, with all that being said, you have a lot of big payoff
moments. And I think if you're into sort of setting up and planning big burst, I very unique gameplay style, simple enough to pick up, but hard to master. And I think that's where it's going to earn its money in terms of design. Apex
talents are all about, you know, fueling up those collapsing stars inside of void into the theme and the whole brand that forget, you also have chaos brand as your debuff. So you're definitely
needed. You keep all the demon hunter mobility, which is good. good survivability in terms of self- sustain, big AoE burst damage, and of course, the midnight. Really excited for this spec. I think they're doing a great job. Needs
excellent. Next up, we got to talk about affliction. And I'm going to be honest, Warlock. For the first time in a long time, this spec is back to being all about damage overtime spells again. They got rid of Malefic Rapture. They dialed
up the knob on their damage overtime effects and they made them a lot more impactful. Also, your soul shard spenders are now seed of corruption for that AOE explosion and unstable affliction for that single target damage
overtime effect. And boy oh boy, if you miss how affliction used to play, buckle up because this is about to go on a rocket and get ready for liftoff. I Shard spenders feel less punishing if you don't just spam them right away. and
your damage actually ramps into big moments now once you get everything up be more happy that I'm getting away from that spamming malefic rapture 7 8 nine
global cooldowns in a row. It was so annoying. It's that classic affliction over time and things look good. You also have a brand new dark harvest cooldown chunking everything down which has your dots on it feels really good and I think
they're in an excellent spot. I also think their apex talent really amplifies their priority target damage a lot with haunt as well which is really really good and I think the spec has some solid potential with somebody that knows what
they're doing if you're playing the spec properly. Very excited for affliction warlock overall. Definitely going to keep my eye on this spec. On next we do also have to talk about the other DPS shaman spec enhancement. I think this is
overall probably the best design enhancement has had in many years. Elemental enhancement are neck andneck in terms of fun and perfect combination of pruning. And I think Blizzard nailed it with both of these specs. So hats off
to them. Your filler abilities like storm strike and lava lash deal more damage now. They got rid of all the crazy button bloat. So they pruned them very nicely. And then you also have voltaic blaze as enhancement pretty much
24/7. So you don't have those weird windows of trying to spread flame shock and you're good to go. Also, Ghost Wolves isn't an activatable ability anymore. It's just a passive that is procked based off abilities you use. For
example, like Sundering and Doom Winds, which feels fine. And overall, they just them properly with which is what I've been begging Blizzard to do for years. So, the toemic warrior enhancement shaman is absolutely back. They feel
enhances their crash lightning ability to deal more damage and amplify some of your other combat capabilities while also giving it a proc every so often to be able to use it without going on cooldown which feels quite nice. I will
say it's not the most impactful Apex talent ever, but it does get the job done. Once again, don't forget shaman brings insane utility, very short cooldown kick, all their totems, blood lust, strong crowd control, you name it,
heading into midnight. definitely looking to be my main so far. Moving on talk about devastation. And this class is in an excellent spot right now as a range DPS. They cleaned up a lot of the awkwardness in the talent tree. They
smooth out how your empower abilities fit into your rotation and gave you more without feeling like you're waiting forever for a certain burst window, changes that there's a talent to where you can deep breath back to back, which
Not only that, you pair that with some of the talents that amplify your damage breath. Especially if you play scale commander, you're constantly shooting You're using deep breath. You're applying those debuffs and you have a
ton of time on all these powerful buffs on you and it feels fantastic. I would say devastation really feels like a devastation evoker where you're just exploding the battlefield with fire and azure damage. And I think the last thing
this spec needs is probably just some good customization in terms of transmog. hands right here. Their apex talent also amplifies their burst window with their cooldowns substantially more which fits devastation perfectly. And I think if
you like high impact spells, big crits, explosive thematic spell effects, devastation is one of the better specs for you heading into midnight for sure. Moving on to our first tank, we got to talk about the vengeance demon hunter.
Now, the biggest improvement I would say is how survivability is going to be worked around with vengeance. Right now, defensive power is now frontloaded and very reliable now. Not something you have to ramp up into while you're just
hoping you don't get deleted at the start of a poll. Fiery Brand is now a true tank defensive on yourself. It's not a debuff you have to spread. Frailty is simpler and more consistent. TLDDR is you pretty much you press your buttons
and you're just tankier. Feed the demon now rewards proper fury spending, letting you maintain demon spikes uptime more naturally without any weird juggling. And the apex talent is essentially a cleaner, smarter evolution
of demonic. Spending fury can proc a free metamorphosis for you that doesn't put your real metamorphosis on cooldown, fixing fury capping issues and giving you a very powerful controlled spikes of durability every once in a while. It's
not super flashy, but it is massively improving the consistency and removes a lot of the old jank from Vengeance's gameplay loop. Hero talent-wise, both Aldrai and Annihilator feel very viable. But Annihilator in particular leans hard
into a high impact, you know, damage uh I would say first, heavier aggressive tank fantasy that does feel distinct rather than the other spec. I would say overall the bottom line is that Vengeance feels like a real durable tank
first. Now, it's very responsive. It does strong damage and doesn't require a bunch of tracking, uh, you know, all the nonsense to be able to survive. If Vengeance Demon Hunter is easily one of the best feeling tanks in Midnight right
now heading into the new expansion. Next up, with a massive surprise, we have Blood Death Knight. Now, finally, this spec feels like it was dragged into the modern era of World of Warcraft. A massive amount of button bloat has been
gone and changed. A lot of maintenance talents are deleted, and that cleanup did wonders for this spec. I'm loving it right now. Blood no longer feels like it's juggling outdated systems on top of each other. Instead, the gameplay loop
is clearer, smoother, and way more satisfying moment to moment. The core fantasy is still intact. You're still a self-healing, you know, juggernaut that just refuses to die. But now, the survivability is less spiky and less
dependent on perfect timing. damage intake is, I guess, more predictable and just less spiky. That's what Blood Death Knight needed and that's what it looks like they're getting. Death Strike still feels very impactful and you're no
longer punished for playing proactively instead of reactively when it comes to taking your damage hits. I would say where blood really shines right now in Midnight is AoE control and flow. Death and Decay feels better to breast.
There's more interactions with your talents with it. Blood boil is very hard-hitting now and your AoE feels very strong. So for large poles, death knight feels very rewarding and not stressful like before. The apex talent also pushes
this further. It leans into that dancing rune weapon uptime, plague stacking, explosive moments for when you would press your dancing rune weapon, you feel very, very powerful. Now, you don't get the massive amount of cooldown reduction
sucks, but you don't need weak auras to going on. you just play your rotation correctly and power up naturally would say overall the end result is a blood death knight that is tankier
without being clunky, has a clear damage profile now without a bunch of awkward without gimmicks, and the spec feels, I would just say, more rounded and modern, and just aggressive overall than ever before. I'm really, really loving Blood
tank to play right now. Big shout out to them. Okay, moving on to our first healer. We have the restoration druid. Now, Midnight didn't completely reinvent this spec, but they did prune and change a few things that we got to talk about.
A lot of the extra maintenance buttons are gone. Some of the old ramp style has clearly being pushed toward more reactive gameplay instead of a healing focused on like pure heal overtime effects. That shift is, I would say,
start playing restoration. Regrowth is doing a lot of your work now, way more than it used to. Talents like Nature's Bounty turn into a, you know, pseudo AoE heal that splash heals everyone. Uh, Swift Men is stronger, more central to
the gameplay and now actively ties into tree spawning and cool down generation. Now, I will say rejuvenation and traditional hot centric styles of gameplay, they're not as dominant as they used to be. And if you fell in love
with Resto purely because of the, you know, long rolling heal overtime effects, that part has been toned down a bit. The soul of the forest changes especially push you away from juicing one massive spell and instead it puts it
towards spreading value across multiple targets more evenly. I would say the bottom line is that Resto Druid may not be, you know, pure heal overtime effect monster that it a lot of people may know it to be, but in terms of overall feel,
responsiveness, cohesion, it's a very welldesigned healer right now. I think overall it's the best designed healer. That being said though, the spec still flows, things feel really good to press. There's always meaningful buttons to pop
off. Life Bloom is stronger and more flexible through Apex talents and stuff. feels a lot more forgiving and responsive when you're in those high healers, we have to talk about surprisingly the preservation evoker.
It's one of the healers that simply feels better to play in the midnight beta. Now listen, I'll say right off the bat, losing Spirit Bloom scares a lot of people. But once you actually play it, it's clear Blizzard is shifting powers
into things drastically like Dream Breath, making your echoes substantially stronger and verdant embrace. Their Apex talent is really nice. It replaces your reversion with a smart like bouncing heal that jumps to low health allies. It
gives you extra spot healing when you're already doing your normal rotation and it auto procs whenever you cast a dream breath. So, it makes it more impactful, get two stacks of that. The hero talents
shaper and chrono warden feel like two genuinely different play styles. Flame shaper leans into more frequent breaths and sustain throughput, while Chrono Warden is kind of about reactive healing and spot healing, I would say. Um, and
doing with Chrono Warden and more clutch moments when things go wrong. But of Bottom line though, I would say Preservation traded some raw complexity for just really smooth flow right now, man. The spec feels very cohesive. It's
responsive. It's rewarding with a lot of build variety now and a very strong identity. Right now, Preservation is easily one of the most satisfying Very, very excited to see what this spec can do come launch day. But yes, ladies
