[0:21] Now Samsung makes some very cheap devices.
[0:24] So as far as I understand,
[0:25] the Galaxy A07 actually isn't largely sold
[0:29] in the United States. So I
know when I bought this one...

a little warning here.
[0:32] This one was actually, I think,
[0:34] a Latin American version, right?

since I switched over

[6:19] and there's a lot to talk about.
[6:21] Some negative stuff for sure.
[6:23] But I would say largely positive,
[6:24] the number one word I would use is slow.
[6:28] These pieces of tech are
generally pretty slow.
[6:31] Now, that shouldn't be
a surprise considering
[6:32] how little I paid for them,
[6:34] but one area
[6:35] that's been less than stellar
is the fingerprint sensor.
[6:38] So for most phones these days,
[6:40] you can tap to turn the
phone on. That doesn't work.
[6:42] So I can click the button
[6:43] and it will turn on, and
then I put my finger on it,
[6:46] and it will unlock.
[6:50] I'll say there's a couple of areas
[6:52] that have been impressive on the A07.
[6:54] The camera is one.
[6:54] It doesn't have any stabilization
[6:56] so you have to make sure
you keep your hands steady,
[6:58] especially for video.
[6:59] But the photos, especially with that 48,
[7:01] or I think 50 megapixel
sensor, it's pretty good.
[7:04] The screen is bright enough.
[7:06] It's a little bit low res.
[7:07] It's only 720p on a 6.7 inch display.
[7:10] So you can definitely see the pixels
[7:13] and especially, like,
reading, like, black text
[7:15] on a white sort of background,
[7:16] it actually hurts my eyes a little bit.
[7:18] It actually looks straining
'cause it just looks very fuzzy
[7:21] and certain apps don't
feel like they're being
[7:23] very well optimized for
this kind of real estate.
[7:25] I knew what I was getting
into with this video.
[7:28] Obviously this stuff is very cheap, right?
[7:30] So, I'm a spoiled tech YouTuber who likes
[7:32] to play with all kind of fancy stuff.
[7:34] So going to the very cheap stuff has been
[7:35] a little bit of an adjustment.
[7:37] Generally speaking as
right now 24 hours in,
[7:40] the watch,
[7:41] I'm gonna make sure I fully charge again
[7:44] and see if maybe that battery
gets a little bit better.

[7:47] The phone, I'm only
really concerned about it
[7:49] from a speed perspective.

seconds to open an app
[7:53] or it immediately kicks
everything out of the background

[8:01] So the screen isn't amazing, right,

YouTube and whatnot at home,

the audio is pretty good.
[8:10] It does have actual real stereo speakers.
[8:13] The size is nice.
[8:14] I will say it's not that
much bigger than my phone,
[8:17] which feels a little bit weird,
[8:18] but the audio is significantly better.
[8:19] The screen is fine.
[8:21] And for tablet stuff like watching video
[8:22] and browsing and stuff,
it's actually all right.
[8:24] So far, I will say that I am finding this
[8:27] to be actually a better
setup than I expected,
[8:30] but I'm already just 24 hours
in thinking about some ways
[8:35] I would do things differently
if I were able to restart
[8:38] from scratch or if I could wildly
[8:40] and blatantly cheat and
swap some devices out
[8:43] before the end of the challenge.
[8:45] Okay, so I'm on day two
with my Samsung setup,
[8:49] and a few thoughts.
[8:51] I was going to go and take
everything to the gym yesterday.
[8:54] However, my watch was basically dead
[8:56] by the time I was done with work.
[8:58] So I figured instead of
going home, waiting for it
[9:00] to charge, trying again, I just
was gonna wait until today.
[9:04] Now that being said,
[9:05] today I did do things
a little differently.
[9:07] I did turn off the always on display.
[9:09] It did make a big difference
to the battery life.
[9:11] I will say it feels
really silly to have a watch
[9:14] that doesn't actually have
the time on it all the time.
[9:17] That kind of defeats the purpose
[9:18] 'cause it takes a solid
second for you to, like,
[9:20] raise your wrist for it to show up.
[9:21] But regardless, in the gym,
[9:23] watch actually worked really well.
[9:25] All the Samsung Health stuff feels
[9:26] like it's actually pretty well designed.
[9:28] No real issues there.
[9:29] And I'll actually say
[9:30] that the Galaxy Buds Core are fantastic.
[9:33] So I've got them in now.
[9:34] They're really good for 50 bucks.
[9:37] I mean the active noise
cancellation, not incredibly strong,
[9:41] but certainly enough for you know,
[9:42] a crowded environment like the gym.
[9:45] I feel like something like an airplane.
[9:46] Like, they're pretty good.
[9:48] I do have to say that the A07 is starting
[9:50] to grate on me a little bit.
[9:52] I have tried to do a little
pass on it to you know,
[9:55] disable more apps and speed
things up, and it's just slow.
[9:57] And what else is becoming a pain point is
[9:59] the Galaxy Chromebook.

stay on one tab at a time,
[10:04] but man, that thing is slow.
[10:06] So, I do have an idea on how

modifications to my setup.

for long enough to know that

some different decisions.

means I actually have service

[15:20] but I'll say that it is
well worth the extra money
[15:23] because the A07 was so slow
[15:26] and that screen was so bad
that it was driving me crazy.

[15:30] The Galaxy Book Go, not a perfect laptop.

see, the screen is (beep).
[15:36] However, that's the technical phrase.
[15:39] It's still bad.
[15:39] It's 1080p but it is
like a very washed out

actually usable, right?

[15:49] but, again, this is a 5G
enabled laptop I bought
[15:52] for like 60 something bucks, right?
[15:54] It is so much better than the Chromebook.
[15:56] So much more powerful, so much quicker.

[15:59] that the screen is really the
only major downside with it.
[16:03] So, overall, for the
core items, pretty good.
[16:07] If I was gonna rank them, I'd
say that the Galaxy Buds Core
[16:11] and the Galaxy Book Go,
especially considering what I paid
[16:13] for it, legitimately recommend.
[16:15] I would say that the A17 is decent.
[16:18] It's not my favorite way of spending $200,
[16:21] but it is a very usable phone.
[16:22] It's pretty solid.
[16:23] And I would say that would not recommend,
[16:27] pretty much at all, the Galaxy
Watch FE or the Tab S11.
[16:31] These are both, to me,
they're not amazing deals,
[16:35] and they're not really that usable, right?
[16:38] I mean the the buginess,
the crashing really on both
[16:40] of these things has been a real
sort of deal breaker for me.
[16:42] The watch, since I've gotten it,
[16:45] routinely disconnects
from Bluetooth sometimes.
[16:48] I will not notice this until
I look down at the watch
[16:50] and realize it's not been connected
[16:52] and I've been missing
notifications the last few hours,

[16:54] Then there's stuff like the Tab, right?
[16:55] So my first impression of the Tab,
[16:57] even though it's not the
one I wanted to order,
[17:00] was generally okay.
[17:01] Like, the speakers are pretty
good, the screen's okay.
[17:03] But the problem is it's just been sort
[17:05] of buggy, is probably the
best way to describe it.
[17:08] I didn't use it for a day
[17:09] and it drained the battery
by itself, which fair enough.
[17:12] I recharged it last night.
[17:13] I went to go watch a video
and it took like three
[17:16] or four minutes to boot.
[17:17] It landed on the home screen,
[17:19] crashed, and rebooted.
[17:22] I had to wait another three
[17:23] or four minutes to
actually, like, light up.
[17:25] And when I went to go watch
a beautiful Mr. Mobile video,
[17:27] the video was stuck playing at 10 FPS.
[17:29] Even though I, like,
literally, I paused the video,
[17:31] I let it sit there and make
sure it was fully booted,
[17:32] nothing's running in the background,
[17:34] and it was just choppy, right?
[17:36] Sometimes it would be smooth,
sometimes it would be choppy,
[17:37] but, like, I couldn't watch the video
[17:39] for more than 30 seconds
[17:40] without it dropping a ton of frames,
[17:42] and it was bothering me.
[17:42] So I'm very curious, what do you think
[17:44] about the cheapest Samsung setup?
