> Source: [What Happens After a Copyright Strike (Live Proof) | YouTube Views Down Problem!](https://youtube.com/watch?v=ryGkACVKi0M)

## Summary

The video is a personal account of how a single copyright strike on YouTube can severely impact a channel's reach and views. The creator shares their own experience, showing live analytics of the decline in views and impressions after receiving a strike, and offers practical advice on how to recover.

### Key Points

- **Channel dead after strike** [00:03] — The creator states that after a copyright strike, their channel's views slowed down, reach disappeared, and the algorithm ignored them.
- **Claim vs Strike** [01:00] — A claim means someone says the content is theirs, resulting in monetization being redirected. A strike is a legal warning; three strikes lead to channel deletion.
- **Algorithm trust drops** [01:33] — After a strike, the algorithm's trust in the channel decreases, causing new videos to stop being pushed and views to drop.
- **Getting the strike** [02:15] — Around October/November 2024, the creator received a direct copyright strike without warning, removing a video.
- **Impact on recommendations** [02:56] — After the strike, videos stopped appearing in the recommended section, and impressions dropped significantly.
- **Views drop by a zero** [03:37] — Average views dropped from around 13,000-6,000 to 4,000-3,000, effectively losing a zero from the view counts.
- **Old videos affected too** [04:47] — Even evergreen content that previously got consistent views saw a drop in search and overall views.
- **Recovery actions** [05:15] — The creator removed copyright-sensitive content, updated titles/tags/descriptions of old videos, and waited for the 90-day strike period to end.
- **Patience and safe content** [06:10] — Advises not to panic, focus on safe content, keep the channel clean, and be patient for recovery.

### Conclusion

A single copyright strike can drastically reduce a channel's visibility and views, but recovery is possible with careful content management and patience.

## Transcript

my channel is dead. Views slowed down, reach disappeared and YouTube's algorithm completely ignores me. Ignore it, just like your ex ignored you, you should ignore this. Now you think, does
YouTube shadow ban your channel after a copyright strike ? Like kills. Can one mistake, one operational strike ruin all your years of hard work? I will not just read out the rules in this video. I will show you live analytics of what
happened with my channel. What action did I take and what should you do because no one knows when and on whom the strike will fall. And yes, this is not a typical boring YouTube policy video. This is my real story of how copyright strike can
ruin your channel. Now let's clear one thing because many people because many people
ruins their lives. Claim means that someone said that the content you are using is mine. But YouTube will just stop monetization on that video of yours or send them the money for your video and to a large extent you
also have control over it. You can also do things. Ok ? But strike brother, strike is a legal warning. If your channel gets three strikes then your channel will be deleted. You might have some other channel, that too will be deleted. You, not the content, disappear from YouTube. Hey, pick it up,
God. Pick it up Baba. And the most important thing is that as soon as a strike is made, the trust of the algorithm on your channel goes down. Your new videos stop getting pushed. YouTube does not say this thing openly. But creators have
noticed this thing again and again and I have also done it personally. Views suddenly drop and reach disappears. If the growth you are experiencing in terms of subscriber views stops. So if you're still wondering
what difference does one strike make? Brother, it makes a lot of difference. If you have ever suffered the pain of copyright strike or clean then comment copyright because pain is reduced by sharing. So this is around October or November 2024. One day I
got a random message from YouTube that your video has been removed due to copyright strike. Neither was there any separate warning nor was there any chance, just a direct strike. One strike. And the reason brother, just a small thing on using people. You may
also get strikes from people. take precaution. Otherwise, if you want to know the whole story behind the copyright because of one person, then you can watch that video in the button above talk about analytics which reveals the real game. Because feeling is a different
thing. The data bears that out. Now if I see, I got a strike at this point and it was around November or October end. As far as I remember. Now after this point the first thing I noticed after the strike was that the
videos which used to go in the recommended section were missing. I wasn't getting views from like recommendations. The impressions of my videos had gone down. Now let me show you the videos that came after this, like these 72,000 were made overtime and these were
views in the videos that came through search. Let me show you more than like 76% of the views here have Overtime has arrived. Ok? Whereas if I talk about instant views which I talk about instant views which
Now if I come to it recently, if I come at this time, then if we talk about it here, I posted it in November and then in December. After December, I came here in December, January and February. Now here you will see a very drastic change. Whereas CTR is same in all.
it. I can see how many people are clicking on the title in the thumbnail. The views coming here are in single digits. 4000 4000 4000 8000 5000 5000 3000 And this 4000 4000 4000 8000 5000 5000 3000 And this
Like if it is some different type of video then it is a different matter. Out of the box, there is niche content. Then different scenario but yes it is there in some videos. Some have like these were my average views before the strike I think. Ok? On average, this many
before the strike I think. Ok? On average, this many views were received. 13000 5000 6000 means if we look at it, there is a scene in which one zero has been reduced. Directly one zero was removed and this thing is still going on. If you see, some of my videos have started getting pushed now.
what should you do after the strike. What am I personally doing that makes me feel that yes, things are getting better. How big an impact can just a single copyright strike have on views? And this is not me scaring you.
I am telling you the reality. Now think, if YouTube stops showing your videos then what should the creator do? And it wasn't just an issue with new videos. My old evergreen videos were also affected. The content that was
getting consistent views earlier also got a little impact due to my search. His views also dropped to a great extent. So if you can spot this pattern with your channel then you can take early action. And
? With consistency, with new content or if there is any other way, please let me know in the comments below. Now let's talk about what I did next ? If this happens to you, how can you tackle it? When the strike
landed, Reach fell. To be honest, I found out about this later and the algorithm had ignored me until then. So obviously the question is what should be done at this point. First I observed that these type of videos are getting some push
and along with that I completely removed the copyright sensitive content from the channel in which I had even 1% chance that I might get the next copy strike because of this. I also started changing the title tags and descriptions of old videos a little bit to try and re-
a little bit to try and re- And waited for the subcentre strike to complete 90 days because only after the strike is removed will the algorithm start getting trust back
I think. No one has proof of this. But the result is slowly gaining momentum back. Growth is not as fast as before but recovery is underway. So if
you ever face a copyright strike, do n't panic. Focus on safe content. Maintain the channel clean and be patient. Rest, as long as you are patient, subscribe to this channel. I bring some new content
for you every week while fighting the algorithm. Otherwise, if you are wondering if there is any way to remove the strike ? So in this video I have explained the entire process of what should be done after the strike and what should be avoided. In a very straightforward manner. Click and take back control of your channel.
