because a lot of the time you get asked to do things or people families ask you stuff where you're not 100% sure of what the right answer is and you can't just ask your senior for every little thing so a lot of the time I found that I had to kind of almost make up what I thought was a reasonable answer just based on all of my medical knowledge and all my limited experience and all that is probably around about right but it always feels a bit weird it's like I'm really sure but this is the sort of thing that I can't just you know ask the consultant or everything so that's probably the you for a lot of the aspects of it so for example one thing I thought Cambridge did very well was helping us prepare for how to break bad news to families and now whenever I have those conversations with families I feel very comfortable and having it because I've got a system I've got a formula that I follow and I think I can do a good job of doing it so that's the sort of thing that has prepared me for very well it didn't really prepare me for how to write a discharge letter but to be honest you learn that on the first day of the job anyway so doesn't need to prepare you for doing that sort
