[00:03] think that's such a bad thing. I'm sorry I'm making this video because I have a pause the video at any point, it's because I need to clean myself up. But anyway, because it's a reality, I believe, for many people who consume YouTube and [00:20] produce content for YouTube. I 'm both; I consume content on YouTube and I produce it too. I started being a YouTube user back in 2010. I [00:32] started watching Minecraft videos, and then I created a channel where I wanted to make videos, you know? I wanted to be famous. I was 10 years old, so from a very young age I started consuming YouTube, and over time this made me [00:47] YouTube, and over time this made me an increasingly lonely person. Okay, so an increasingly lonely person. Okay, so until 2010 I was a kid who played a lot in the street, played soccer a lot, played [00:59] hide-and-seek, it was really cool. I lived in a quiet neighborhood in terms of car traffic, and that changed mainly after Minecraft because I didn't want to be in the street anymore, I didn't want to play there [01:14] with my friends anymore, I wanted to be... I was just watching Minecraft videos and playing Minecraft, and over time also making YouTube videos. So, those guys, those friends of mine from the street, they didn't have the same thing, you know, the [01:29] same vibe of being on the computer. So I ended up being lonely on the street because of that, because of YouTube. And at school, I even had [01:41] problems talking to people, you know? I was always very open. Look, so you can see that being communicative doesn't necessarily mean having friends, right? At least you'll understand. Like, I talked to people at school, [01:53] but I had one or two who really connected with me, and usually those who connected with me either did so because they played Minecraft or, I mean, because I didn't just play Minecraft, but also because I consumed content on [02:06] YouTube. So we had a different and much deeper connection different and much deeper connection thanks to YouTube. So, in the end, I believe I wasn't a person, a child who didn't have many friends, okay? I'm [02:21] not that case; I'm the case of someone who had many friends, but the ones who really caught my attention, who connected with me the most, were the ones who also had the same bad habits, you know? [02:33] Because I... I realize I had bad habits, you know? Like, I consumed YouTube watching without restriction, besides the internet, which I had to pause and wait for the video to load, and especially playing games. [02:46] So I wasted a lot, a lot, a lot of my life in a useless way, consuming content and producing it, not playing games. Okay, I was... it might not [02:58] seem like it, but I'm a nerd, I 'm from the nerd group, you know? Like, I'm probably more of a nerd than the nerds who just look like nerds, okay? Not trying to brag, but anyway, let's go. And I made [03:14] brag, but anyway, let's go. And I made some notes here so my TDH doesn't kick in. Look, since I was 10 years old I've been a YouTube user. Why do I say "user"? Because I think it really is a drug, okay? If you use it in a negative way, okay? Like [03:27] I said, they were bad habits. I really spent the whole day I really spent the whole day playing games and watching videos. Nerd, nerd, nerd, nerd, mother has to beat her to get off the PC, and any [03:40] to get off the PC, and any day you don't have school, you stay up late and she wakes up in the middle of the night... So, I used to be that kid who was highly addicted to YouTube and games, okay? Today, I don't... I mean, I don't have the same [03:55] gaming addiction anymore. I don't play like I used to. I used to play a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, and today I'm addicted to YouTube, but I managed to reverse that so that I'm not just a consumer of content, you know, [04:08] entertainment. Mainly, I started consuming content that generates knowledge for me, valuable content. So I use this addiction, this habit of mine, let's call it a habit because now I believe that if it's [04:21] knowledge through YouTube... So I have that, and it also made me a different person, very different. That's why with people because I really noticed that the people who either played games—you know, to [04:36] be connected to the internet—the people who were connected to the internet, either playing or watching, they were people— and I can't put it in these words, but it's easier for you to understand— with a high IQ, just in quotes, I don't even [04:49] okay. It's like being a person who knows more things. A child, you know, who internet because he connected with many other people all over the world, right? And [05:01] like my friends from the street and my friends from school. So why was I talking about this? Well, the YouTube user... I started consuming YouTube content mainly. So, at the same time that I consume content to [05:17] increase my knowledge, I can also produce content to generate money for myself, but that's not the focus. The focus is why YouTube made me lonely. Uh, at school I had friends, but few [05:29] connected. Those who did connected played games or watched YouTube, and I don't have difficulty connecting with people. I have difficulty difficulty talking to someone just for the sake of talking, you know? Like, I'm the [05:44] my routine. That's great, but I don't have difficulty great, but I don't have difficulty connecting with people. However, what happens is that it's very difficult to connect with people, you know? Like, here in the " [05:57] connect a little because on YouTube there's an audience, right? You have audiences, and this audience that's watching my videos... YouTube is because it connects with me a little, so you guys are kind of part of my community. And so I can talk [06:09] anyone I know on the street or at an event, you know? But it's okay, even so, I can't delve too deeply with the people on this channel because there are things I can't talk about here and things I don't need to [06:24] talk about here, you know? So it's very difficult for me to find people I can talk to about anything, you know, to delve into anything. And this "anything" thing, like knowing... That's because, in my head, it's not that I'm a very intelligent person, I [06:38] 'm just someone who knows a lot of things, you know? And so I want to connect with people I can talk to about anything, and I can count on the fingers of this hand the people I have that I can, you know, that's the [06:51] people I have that I can, you know, that's the point, I can delve into. It's complicated, but that's thanks to YouTube and these people, look, these people here in my hand, you know where they came from? Where did our friendships come from? They [07:06] were connected to the internet, or YouTube, or games, but mainly YouTube, right? My latest friendships, the [07:18] YouTube, so deep down... YouTube is making me lonely, right? Not being connected with just anyone out there? It connected me with select people, so there are people I can delve into on [07:30] any subject, and these people I'm connecting with came from YouTube. So, look how crazy it is, YouTube made me lonely because it made me disconnect from most people, because very few people consumed YouTube, [07:44] and even less so with the depth I consume it nowadays. Like, what is YouTube to watch just anything, you know? Like, for example, if I'm not going to go on YouTube to watch something every day, you know? I can [07:57] specific person and have a few laughs, you know? But daily, every single day, exactly every single day, I pick it up and watch a video that teaches me something [08:09] bizarre, right? But okay, so YouTube made me a different person, and at the same time, it made me connect with different people. I'm lonely, I live alone, I have my routine, I have Kiara, I think that's great, great, really great, [08:22] and at the same time I can communicate with you guys, like, you're not... with you here on YouTube and on other channels too, and even so, I people around me, and to be honest, I don't want to. The best thing—I didn't [08:39] put it here, but I'll say it anyway—I think every teenager, every person who lives with their parents, right? I'm talking more to [08:53] parents and want to move out of their parents' house, okay? Move out of your parents' house, okay? I you to live alone, at least for a while. Like, I don't want to live family, you know, and not be a lonely person anymore. But for you, even if you [09:07] lonely person anymore. But for you, even if you don't have a marriage, you're a young person, move out live alone. I'm not talking about living with friends; you gain a lot of experience, living in shared houses, all that stuff, but try, at some [09:19] point when it's possible, to live alone and have your own routine, your own life. alone and have your own routine, your own life. I advise this more for men, for women. Also, right? [09:33] But I prefer this perspective for men because, man, men because, man, you're going to learn so much! It's you're going to learn so much! It's like you're doing therapy with [09:45] yourself every day. You can have your own things, do things on your own schedule, you know? It might seem complicated to make food, but damn, man, it's the bare make forks and knives to eat anymore, we just need to [09:59] pans because it used to be like that, you had to make the fork, the knife, make the pan, today it's so easy. But here's a piece of advice for you: let's be solitary, let's live alone, let's be alone, and it can be something very [10:12] positive for you, okay? At least it was very positive for me, okay? The first time I lived alone was during the pandemic. I shared an apartment with two other people, right? There were three people including me from college, and then during the [10:25] living alone, and it was one of the best moments of my life. It was crazy, it was that year that I created "Bora Pra Prática" (Let's Get Practical). I was alone there in Londrina, Paraná, let me... I forgot to mention something, [10:39] YouTube helps me be less lonely. It's like YouTube is my community, my crazy world, right? And so I put, like, the title of this video could also be "YouTube Made Me Smarter." Because it made me a [10:52] people who are on this channel—not just because it's my channel, but because they're here on make money in various other ways, like here, understanding that you can be self-taught—you are intelligent people and you should be grateful, [11:06] intelligent people and you should be grateful, especially to YouTube.
