[0:00] What's going on, guys? And welcome back [0:01] to another video. It's that time of the [0:03] year again. You guys need to update your [0:06] settings on OBS to make sure that you [0:08] have a crystalclear and professional [0:11] looking stream. Now, for those of you [0:13] who've been streaming for a long time or [0:15] maybe trying to start streaming just now [0:16] for the first time, you know how [0:18] important it is for your stream to stand [0:20] out in that sea of millions of people [0:23] trying to become streamers, especially [0:25] in 2026. Now, that is where our sponsor [0:28] for today's video is going to come in. [0:29] They're going to help you make your [0:31] stream look great and give you the [0:33] graphics and the alerts and everything [0:35] you need to take it to the next level. [0:37] The first step is going to be watching [0:39] this video to get the quality boosted up [0:41] on your stream. And then definitely [0:43] check out our sponsor for today's video, [0:45] Own.tv. [0:46] Owned.tv is your one-stop shop for fresh [0:49] new graphics for your stream. Whether [0:51] you're on Twitch, YouTube, or Kick, [0:53] you'll find something that's a perfect [0:55] fit for your channel. They offer full [0:57] themed overlay packages, which are great [0:58] if you're trying to give your stream a [1:00] complete makeover. But let's say you're [1:02] looking to pick up some new alert [1:03] graphics. Don't worry because they've [1:05] got you covered there, too. You could [1:07] find single graphics such as alerts, [1:09] emotes, [music] banners, panels, and [1:10] logos as well. And one of the best parts [1:13] about these overlays is that they are [1:14] completely modular. So, if you and your [1:16] friends all pick up the same overlay, [1:18] such as this Rodan one right here, you [1:20] could change the colors and tweak it to [1:22] match your brand, and none of you will [1:24] have the exact same overlay. If you're [1:26] looking to take your stream to the next [1:28] level, be sure to check out own.tv using [1:30] my link below to support the channel. [1:33] And don't forget, use code hammer at [1:35] checkout for an additional 50% off your [1:37] order. Now, back to the video. Okay, so [1:40] now we're back. Thank you guys for [1:41] watching that sponsored segment. We're [1:43] going to switch over to my split screen [1:44] view so that you guys can see my screen. [1:46] Now, this is my OBS, what you guys are [1:48] seeing on the screen right here. I am [1:50] recording currently. I have it put in [1:52] the center of my screen. And we're going [1:54] to do the first thing, and that's going [1:56] to be to come down to the bottom right [1:58] hand corner and click on settings. Now, [2:00] we have our little settings window. I'm [2:01] going to put it right here so that you [2:03] guys can see it. And actually, I can [2:05] move it over a little bit this way. It's [2:07] perfect. Yeah, there we go. Okay. So, [2:09] starting off up here in the top left in [2:11] the general tab. There's one thing here [2:12] that'll help you guys set up your [2:14] stream. And that's going to be source [2:15] alignment snapping. I want you guys to [2:17] enable this. And then I have my snap [2:19] sensitivity set to 9.0. You could kind [2:21] of set this to whatever you want. It's [2:22] all personal preference. This is going [2:24] to help you when it comes to aligning [2:26] things on, you know, your your stream [2:27] preview to make everything line up [2:29] perfectly. That's all this is. So, I [2:31] would suggest enabling that and then [2:32] messing around with the sensitivity to [2:33] get it to what you want. Next, on the [2:36] left hand side, we're going to go to [2:37] appearance. Again, this is all personal [2:38] preference. I use the Yummy theme on [2:40] default with a font size of 10. And then [2:43] the density I have set to comfortable. [2:45] And on the left hand side here, this is [2:47] where everything starts to, you know, [2:49] take place with setting up your stream. [2:51] You are going to come over here and [2:53] whatever service you're streaming to, [2:54] whether it's Twitch, Kick, YouTube, [2:56] multireaming, whatever. If you are [2:58] multireaming, just pick one. I stream [3:00] mainly on Twitch and I multiream to Kick [3:02] and YouTube. So, I have Twitch selected [3:04] here. right here in this destination [3:06] box. It's going to have you log into [3:08] your Twitch account or whatever it is. [3:09] If you're using Kick, you're going to [3:10] use a custom uh one right here and put [3:12] in your stream key. If you're using [3:13] YouTube, you're going to select YouTube, [3:15] Facebook, you know, so on and so forth. [3:17] You're going to set that up. You're [3:18] going to log in. And then that's all we [3:20] do in this tab as well. Now, the most [3:22] important tab is going to be over here [3:23] in the output section. Come over to [3:26] output at the top. Output mode. Set this [3:28] to advanced. Make sure you're on the [3:30] streaming tab here so that we're not [3:31] messing with recording audio or replay [3:33] buffer settings. Make sure you're [3:34] selecting streaming here. And as you can [3:36] see, a lot of this stuff is grayed out, [3:37] but that's just because I'm recording [3:39] currently, and you can't change these [3:40] settings while recording or while live. [3:42] So, in the streaming tab, the first [3:44] thing you're going to notice over here [3:45] is your audio encoder. Just leave that [3:47] as default. For your video encoder, if [3:50] you're using an Nvidia GPU, you're going [3:52] to want to use Envank H.264. If you're [3:54] using an AMD GPU, use the AMD [3:56] equivalent. Rescale output. Make sure [3:59] this is disabled and then have this set [4:00] to whatever. It doesn't really matter [4:02] because it's disabled anyway. Now coming [4:04] down your encoder settings. This is [4:05] where the magic actually does happen, [4:08] right? This is where, you know, we get [4:10] that crystal clear quality on our [4:11] stream. So your bit rate is going to [4:14] change depending on where you're [4:15] streaming. If you're streaming on Twitch [4:16] or Kick, you can't go higher than 8,000 [4:19] bit rate. If you're streaming on [4:20] YouTube, you can go way higher than [4:22] that. Uh so, you know, if you're, let's [4:24] say, I'll give you an example. If you're [4:25] doing 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps on YouTube, [4:28] you'll want to set your bit rate to 16K. [4:31] On Twitch, do not go higher than 8,000 [4:33] because they will nerf your encoder [4:35] settings and people will only be able to [4:36] watch your stream in 720p or lower, no [4:39] matter how high you set it. The max you [4:41] could set it on Twitch is going to be [4:43] 8,000 kbps. Make sure your rate control [4:45] is set to constant bit rate. Your key [4:47] frame interval set this to 2 seconds. [4:49] Preset, I have mine set to slowest or [4:51] best quality. Tuning, I have set to high [4:54] quality, multipass mode, two passes, [4:56] full resolution. Profile is set to high. [4:58] Look ahead is unchecked. Adaptive [5:00] quantization is checked, B frame set to [5:02] two, and then no custom encoder options. [5:04] Now, just so you guys are aware, if you [5:08] are streaming and getting some encoding [5:10] overload errors or maybe dropping some [5:12] frames, you can come in here to this [5:14] preset and drop this down to like five. [5:17] It's really going to be a very minimal [5:18] difference between P5 and P7. You only [5:21] start to really lose quality once you [5:23] hit P4, and even then, it's not that [5:24] much, especially if people are not [5:26] watching full screen. So, if you don't [5:28] have the best computer on the market, I [5:30] suggest just starting at P5 right off [5:31] the rip here. Uh, and then again, you [5:33] can also go down to tuning and leave [5:35] this on high quality. I wouldn't go low [5:37] latency or ultra low latency. This does [5:39] does change it quite a bit. But another [5:41] one that you can tune down a little bit [5:43] if you are having encoder encoding uh, [5:45] you know, errors. You can come down here [5:46] to multipass mode and drop this down to [5:48] quarter resolution or even single pass. [5:50] Again, not a setting that affects the [5:53] quality of your stream that much. It's [5:55] not going to be, you know, a super crazy [5:57] amount of of of quality loss by dropping [6:00] down, you know, those settings by a tiny [6:03] bit. The preset and the multipass mode. [6:05] Okay. You're going to come over here to [6:07] audio on the lefth hand side. And this [6:08] is where you're going to set up the [6:10] audio for your stream. If you're using a [6:12] gaming headset, right, that's just a [6:13] headset with a microphone. This is going [6:15] to be very simple. Your desktop audio [6:17] will just be set to default or your [6:18] headphones. And then your microphone [6:20] will be set to the microphone on your [6:22] headphones. [music] If you're looking at [6:23] mine and you're a little bit confused as [6:24] to how mine is set up, it's because I'm [6:26] using a Go XLR. So, all of my audio is [6:29] mixed down into the Go XLR and then it's [6:31] broadcasted through this broadcast [6:32] stream mix. All of my mixing happens on [6:35] the Go XLR and then one single output [6:37] comes out which is my broadcast stream [6:39] mix. So, general rule of thumb here, [6:42] depending on what your setup is, if you [6:44] have a simple setup, like I said, gaming [6:45] headset, gaming microphone, or even a [6:47] Blue Yeti, you know, a USB microphone, [6:49] or even a standalone XLR microphone, you [6:51] don't if you don't have an audio mixer, [6:53] set your desktop audio to whatever [6:55] you're listening to audio on. And then [6:57] your microphone, whatever your [6:58] microphone is, set it to that. Uh, [7:00] scrolling down in here, there's not much [7:03] else we need to mess with. Nothing in [7:04] here is going to affect the quality of [7:06] your stream. So, we're going to go over [7:08] here to another really important tab, [7:10] and that's going to be the video tab. [7:12] So, [music] if you're gaming in 1920 x [7:14] 1080 or 2560x440 [7:16] or 4K, whatever it is, that is what your [7:19] base canvas resolution is going to be. [7:21] Whatever you're staring at, whatever [7:22] your gaming monitor's resolution is, [7:24] base canvas resolution is set to that. [7:27] The output scaled resolution is going to [7:30] then be um what you want your stream to [7:34] be at. If you want to stream in 2K, you [7:36] would have to set your output scaled [7:37] resolution to 2560 by440p if your base [7:40] one is the exact same. If you're gaming [7:43] in 2K and you wanted to scale your [7:45] stream down to 1080p for Twitch, [7:48] whatever, whatever you want to do, you [7:50] would then set your output scaled [7:52] resolution to 1920x 1080 and that would [7:55] downscale it. And then that will give [7:57] you access to these downscale filters. [7:59] I'm not downscaling right now. I'm [8:00] recording in 2K. Um, so if I was [8:03] streaming on Twitch, I downscale to [8:05] 1080p. That opens up the options here. [8:07] And you're going to want to choose the [8:08] Lancos uh downscale filter option. This [8:10] is going to give you the highest [8:12] possible quality. And then your common [8:14] FPS values, you're going to set this to [8:17] 60fps. [music] [8:18] Okay, that's all you're going to do. Um, [8:20] and now you're going to have a nice high [8:22] quality 60fps stream. And to be [8:25] completely honest, guys, these settings [8:26] have been helping people for years. I [8:28] update my settings here and there a [8:30] little bit as the years go on. you know, [8:31] we tweak with things and get it looking [8:33] even better. OBS does some updates. Uh, [8:35] you know, graphics card drivers update, [8:37] so things do change a little bit. So, if [8:39] you haven't messed with your stream [8:40] settings in a really long time, now is [8:43] the time to do it. Uh, definitely go and [8:45] tweak your settings and you're going to [8:47] thank me later because your stream is [8:48] going to look absolutely [music] [8:50] crystal clear. But anyways guys, that's [8:53] it. Those are the settings. Again, check [8:54] out the sponsor for today's video, [8:56] own.tv. Thank you for sponsoring this [8:58] video.
