## Transcript

YouTube is updating the video player on the mobile watch page to provide a cleaner, less cluttered viewing experience for everyone. Hello Insiders, I'm Rene Ritchie, a long-time creator now working at YouTube, and here's what's up. First, like, dislike, share, and ask are getting, in my opinion, super sleek new icons. Next, the like count is moving from the like button to below the video title next to the channel name. And the old horizontal scrolling list of action buttons is being replaced with a simple three-dot menu button with options to save, download, and report a video. Mobile only, portrait mode, aka vertical only, no changes for landscape, desktop, or TV. Google is launching a new profile feature designed to help creators and publishers shape how we show up on Google Search. A search profile is a shareable, customizable page that brings together our YouTube channels, all of our social accounts, posts, and links all into one place. Once we've linked our accounts, we can customize our profiles by editing our photos and banner images, pinning our latest work, and adding important links like our websites or merch stores. Search profiles let brands and fans and collaborators learn more about us and our content and easily follow us to see more of our work. After fully editing our profiles, a visual snapshot of information called a knowledge panel may now appear when people search for us, displaying our name, latest post, and a link to our search profiles. To be eligible, we have to have a public account with at least 100,000 followers on a single supported platform, Instagram, YouTube, or X. If we only have a public account on TikTok, we have to have at least 300,000 followers. If you want a profile, you can start setting it up by visiting creators.google/profile and clicking on check your eligibility. YouTube is expanding in-app video sharing and messaging to people in the US and other global locations. Following a successful rollout in more than 30 countries, this expansion gives even more viewers, 18 years and older a way to connect over our favorite videos without having to leave the YouTube app. Whether it's a hot new music video, helpful tutorial, hilarious short, people in a supported region can share videos and react to them in real time through the new messaging icon. We can all, of course, still share YouTube videos through text, email, or any other third-party messaging app. This new tool simply gives us another option to connect directly through YouTube. Now, YouTube's community guidelines apply to all shared content and messages. YouTube systems proactively scan for harmful content, and users always have standard options to block, flag, or report messages. Creators with channel memberships, YouTube has some new info on international pricing, smart pricing recommendations, and updating pricing for new members. First, YouTube will be updating international pricing for new members to reflect exchange rates. To make sure memberships are fair for all creators globally, YouTube will notify creators when this is happening, and will have until August 17, 2026 to review the recommended changes or set up our own custom prices before automatic updates go into effect. So, keep a lookout for that. We'll also be getting smart pricing recommendations right in YouTube Studio. These are personalized pricing suggestions based on our location, audience, and engagement, so we can have some frames of reference for our pricing and don't have to stress about starting from scratch. And yeah, creators will be able to update pricing for new members once every 12 months per membership tier, all while keeping existing members at their current pricing. Drop your thoughts and questions in the comments and keep it real.
