[00:00] Is it possible to go viral on TikTok? The short answer, yes. Of course it is. But how does one grow? Are there certain strategies that work and others that don't? In this video, I'll show you how I went viral on TikTok and how you can do it too. [00:14] Hi, my name is Shantin and welcome to my YouTube channel. Just for some background information on me, I run a TikTok account with over 2 million followers. And on that account, I mainly post tutorial videos on spreadsheet and Google Sheets. [00:27] And in this video, I'll be starting another account completely from scratch and showing you essentially the exact same way I grew my first account. At the end of one week, my goal is to have at least 10,000 followers, have at least one video go viral, and 100,000 likes for the whole account. [00:42] Now, these are pretty big numbers, but from my experience and from seeing how small stages have blown up on TikTok, I believe that it is very awesome. So without yapping on any further, let's get right into it. [00:57] So first I need to create a new account and then come up with a new name. So I decided that I'll call my new account as JoeDeeDee. Now it's important to start a new account if possible. As from my experience, my first video on new accounts always generally get more views on average. [01:10] The reason for this is because TikTok first wants to gauge what type of audience your videos are for. Are your videos for people who like dancing, sports, or even traveling? And so when you post your first TikTok, it will send out your video to more people's For You pages and analyze your response for them. [01:25] So if you can, just start a new account as it'll help to boost your TikTok account in the beginning. So now back to my account. So I be mainly posting tutorial videos for Adobe programs such as Photoshop New York Pro and maybe even a little bit of After Effects So here they come [01:45] Tutorial videos are something that I feel that I'm good at, but for you it may be different. It could be gaming, it could be dancing, or I don't know, fishing. Just find something that you're interested in as it'll be easier for you to create videos in the long run. [01:57] And what people don't even know is that you don't have to be good at what you're posting. I haven't told anybody this, but when I started to use my first account, I didn't even know how to use Excel or Google Sheets at all. [02:10] Anywho, now that I have my account up and running, I now need to post videos. So personally for me, what my plan is for the next 7 days is of course post at least 3 TikToks a day, try to use any catchy song, and lastly try to incorporate any type of trends in my videos if possible. [02:25] It's not a must, but if you can do it, it would be better. And along the way, if I notice that one thing works better than another, for example if I use text in my videos versus no text, I will then do more of what works better. But if there's one thing I want you to take away from here, it's quantity. [02:39] Quantity over quality. We aren't trying to create the bestest video right off the bat. Instead, we are trying to figure out what works by posting as many videos as we can, and then we can start reducing and more importantly, refining our videos. [02:51] This will ultimately help us to create good content for people to enjoy watching. I'll be posting videos on my new account for about a week, and after seven days, we'll take a look at the results together. See you guys then. [03:05] So it's actually been a month since I started the new account. I decided to let the account run for a few more weeks so I could show you what would happen over a longer period of time So first let go ahead and take a look at how the account is doing right now So right now I have a total of 5 followers and 38 likes and for one month I definitely [03:21] not complaining. So let's talk about the journey of running the account. So after the first day I was only getting a few hundred views, sometimes even less, but you gotta trust the process. So initially my first post got quite a lot of views just after a few days and after three [03:34] days I got 20,000 views on it. Afterwards I carried on posting and I tried to get a feel of the right format to use. So like for example I noticed that time-saving tips did better than other videos and also text animation videos. I also had a friend who watched my TikTok and told me that the video [03:48] was a bit too complicated and that the reason why he followed my sneak peek account is because I made the complicated look simple. So if you can try to get some friends and family members to watch your videos so you can get some feedback on them. But do not let this stop you from posting. What I would [04:02] suggest first is to post the video and then let them watch it. Trying to create the perfect video right off the bat will slow your growth tremendously. So next, after running a count for about five days, I wanted to see what would happen if I started posting less TikTok. So instead of posting three [04:16] TikToks a day, I decided to post one TikTok, maybe two a day, and see what would happen. And doing this, I definitely saw a decrease in the number of views I was getting and the number of followers I was getting. But at the end of two weeks, I had a total of 21 videos uploaded, and I essentially [04:31] They went AFK for two more weeks. That's when on the last two days of this experiment, I noticed that actually one of my TikToks blew up and it got over 50,000 views and I gained an extra $4,000 in just those two days. [04:44] And now the video is sitting at over 80 views I was not expecting that at all So this leads me to my next point Let your videos run If you post a TikTok and it doesn seem to do well in the first few days don delete it or think that like it a bad video [04:57] Sometimes it just needs to be picked up by the algorithm or to start getting views. If we look at when that video's post video posted four weeks ago, which was over a month ago, and then it started finally getting views. [05:09] So just keep posting quantity over quality, and eventually, if you really put your mind to it, your videos will start improving and you'll start seeing what works and what doesn't. Now let's take a look back at three goals we made when we first started the account. [05:24] You can see that number one, I managed to get over 10,000 followers even though it did take longer. Number two, I had a few videos that got a lot of views, this one even getting 100,000 views. So I'll definitely say I completed that goal. [05:36] I did not however get 100,000 likes, I only got 38,000 likes for the whole account, So I didn't complete the third goal. But hey, from what I see, this was a massive success. And if I continue running the account, I could definitely see myself hitting 100,000 followers in just a few months. [05:50] So just remember when starting a brand new account, number one, want to keep your quality 100% all the time. And then number two, after you do that, do more of what works. If you see a certain type of video getting more views than others, try to recreate that video in a different way. [06:05] And lastly, number three, let your videos run. No more than built in a day, I'd say. So that's all from me now, go out there and search your very own TikTok account and ultimately just have fun with it. If you've enjoyed this video make sure to like and subscribe, it really means a lot [06:17] to me. Comment anything you'd like to see me do and see you guys in the next video.
