[00:02] Priest Beginner's Guide. My name is Baza the Healer and this video is meant to be followed along. You can grab one of the builds from down below and watch me and play alongside me as we go through how you actually play Oracle and Voidw [00:15] Weaver Discipline Priest. This is similar to my video I released in season 2. However, we're going to dive deeper into Oracle and into a voidw weaver and talk about the new tier sets for season 3. That being said, this is going to be [00:27] mostly mythic plus and delving oriented. However, a lot of what you're going to you're trying to be a discipline priest raider, starting here is probably not going to be a bad idea. You'll very quickly see how you might heal in raid [00:41] just from what we talk about here. One more little disclaimer before we begin. I'm going to be doing a lot of the early demonstration on Oracle, and that's extra bolts of my penants coming out, which you'll see right here for just a [00:55] moment. That's totally normal, but that doesn't happen on voidw weaver. Voidw you're going to send out this giant rift. For now, don't even worry about it. It's going to make your smite turn into void blast, but everything I'm [01:09] saying will still apply to you. But for the sake of visual clarity, I think There's no actual preference for this video. I'll give you the ups and downs to get that out of the way in case you're like, "Well, why does their [01:22] penance hit two targets and mine doesn't?" That's probably why. Let's get into it. The key to discipline priest is atonement. This is a two-part mastery. and absorption is increased by mastery percentage on targets with atonement. [01:37] Certain heals of yours will apply a buff called atonement. And when you have that atonement buff, you'll get the larger shields and the larger heals from already having atonement on you. This means that your first heal on a target, [01:50] say with like flash heal, will be okay, but the second one will be a lot stronger because the target already had atonement on them. So, it's pretty key to have your atonements out for bigger healing. But the primary way that [02:03] discipline priest heals is through damage. Various moves of yours will apply atonement for 15 seconds. Your spell damage heals all targets affected by atonement for 28% of the damage done and it's increased by 125% when you're [02:18] not in raid. So a majority of the healing is not hitting your flash heal or even hitting your radiance which is an AoE heal. No, a majority of your healing is going to come from doing damage to a target while everyone has [02:31] atonement on them. Even your damage over time will provide healing through your atonement every single time it ticks. So, there's a lot of damage you're going order to heal. But first, we need to talk about the few healing spells that [02:45] they have because seriously, there aren't a lot of them. So, let's go through them. Flash Heal is your basic heal. It's an incredibly fast cast and it does an okay amount of healing on its own. While it is pretty fast and very [03:00] effective once the target has atonement, it will absolutely rip through your mana bar if you're not careful. Furthermore, whenever you flash heal somebody else, you'll always heal yourself a little bit. This means that you will also [03:12] receive atonement and your protective light, which says that whenever you cast flash heal on yourself, you get a 10% damage reduction, which is pretty neat. damage reduction, which is pretty neat. If your flash heal is ever glowing, that [03:24] Surge of light makes your next flash heal instant cast and half off in the mana department. Use these whenever you have them and you're not doing lots of for your downtime. And usually you'll have a charge or two and it can stack up [03:39] to two times while you're doing other healing. So, it's nice to see it something in the pocket ready to go if someone's in trouble. Powered shield is priest. This is going to provide an absorb shield on the target protecting [03:54] them from harm. While this is stronger on Oracle than it typically is on voidw weaver, both will use it, but Oracle players, you're going to be using it a significant amount more, but this will apply atonement and of course the [04:07] someone is to start by putting a shield on them to keep them safe and then to use other heals to keep them alive. Wow, I was lagging. Uh after you've put the combinations is going to actually be hitting powered shield and then firing a [04:23] penance off. But we'll go over that example in a little bit. Renew is a basic heal over time. It's really not that special as a heal over time. However, it is instant cast with no cooldown, meaning it will put atonement [04:38] on the target. Whenever you hear me talk about manually ramping or slow ramping, what I mean is getting atonement on everyone the slow way. You could do this by just casting renews if you wanted. You could go through your whole team, [04:51] put all these down, and congratulations, you've given everybody atonement. It is slower than another method we're about to go over, but it's useful to know you always have an instant cast way of getting those atonements down. The [05:04] fastest way of doing that, though, is radiance. Power word radiance is a very important spell, as it's an AoE heal, and a pretty strong one at that. While it will apply atonement to every single target that it hits, which is four [05:17] targets plus whoever you selected, this does mean it's going to be a 70% normal duration atonement. But that's a price we're willing to pay. You're able to do something like hit radiance immediately, then go into your damage routine for a [05:31] ton of healing without wasting a whole lot of time, but you're limited to two charges of this move with an 18-second recharge. Powered Radiance is the most going gets rough and it's time to heal the whole party. So, make sure you have [05:47] this one in a very convenient location so that you can use it to kickstart your major healing events. The final move to talk about is penance. This is the only move that won't provide atonement out of all the heals we've discussed. Penance [06:00] is a very strong single target heal or damaging move. And one of the best ways is a power word shield and then hit them with a penance to give them a lot of healing very quickly. Penance is an awesome heal, but without an atonement, [06:14] awesome heal, but without an atonement, it's going to feel way too weak. So, I get an atonement on a target before hitting them with penance. That being said, you can move while casting penants, and it is instant cast. You can [06:27] be mid-flight, you can be doing a whole lot of stuff, gliding around, and still hit your penants. When I say mid-flight, I do mean gliding. You can't be riding a dragon and fire a penance. Although, that would be kind of sick. But a [06:39] majority of our healing is going to be done through damage. So, let's start talking about our damaging spells. Penance is the first one to bring up. We while I don't want you to shy away from using it as a heal, using it as an [06:53] offensive attack is going to be the majority of how you do your healing. A lot of our moves are actually going to make our penins stronger. So, while normally we only send out a couple of penance bolts, after casting a power [07:05] we're going to send out additional penance bolts across that duration. This really helps kickstart your healing, and you're going to be casting radiance before you penance quite often, but do be careful about running out of charges [07:19] of radiance. The next move to talk about is smite. And really, there's not a whole lot to talk about here. Smite as a move does very little damage and therefore very little healing. There are ways to power this move up, but [07:32] Discipline Priest typically, while it does have good HPS, it has times where it doesn't have good healing per second, and thus having smites to weave in, while it doesn't feel too impactful, getting as many of these out as possible [07:46] is nice when you're cutting it a little close. That being said, there are a lot of buttons that will out prioritize your smite, unless you're holding on, waiting is sometimes the button you're pressing while you wait to do your big heal. Mind [07:59] blast isn't a particularly powerful move. Well, at least on its own, until you get your tier set voidw weaver players. However, while this isn't the strongest move in the game, it does provide us a couple of buffs. First of [08:11] all, it'll increase our spell damage to the target by 10%. which as you can imagine is more damage which does mean more healing but it also gives us power of the dark side. Our next penance will deal 30% additional damage or healing. [08:25] This is really important as the combination of the magic defense down and the increased damage of our penance is very important to some big big healing. Mind blast being up pretty often means you'll get this burst of [08:38] healing every 20 or so seconds which makes it incredibly useful. But that power of the dark side buff is always guaranteed when you press it. There is another move that has a chance of giving it to you and that's your shadowward [08:51] pain. Your shadowward pain is a simple damage over time that does exactly that damage over time. If you hit a target with shadowward pain with a penance, it'll actually spread around to other targets. This is pretty important as [09:06] getting out more of these gives you more chances of a power of the dark side. Cuz haven't gotten a proc while I'm talking about it. So more chances at additional power of the dark side procs is a good thing. So the more the marrier. It's not [09:21] the best heal though. If I cast radiance, you'll see it. It's well, it's doing something. It's not the greatest, but it is nice to have. And so you will bolster your healing, but really we're just hoping for those big fat power of [09:36] the dark side penances. All of that being said, we can actually put together our basic rotation. So, follow along. We're going to start by trying to have a shadow pain on the target. And you know what? If you forget [09:50] if you're in the middle of like some really clutch healing, you might not so, if you have to cut something out of the rotation, it could definitely be shadowward pain. But it's nice to get a couple of these out whenever you can. [10:04] Okay, now it's time to heal. Cast a radiance as the damage comes out. Then hit a mind blast. Then hit that power of the dark side penance for some massive healing. Then press smite basically until penance is back up. And then you [10:19] can send out one more penance. And it really is that simple. Making target. Making sure you've cast radiance. Then mind blast. Then penance. Then smite. Now, that's the fastest [10:34] you're going to do often. However, it is important to note that you can manually want to waste a radiance charge or you've just used a radiance charge and you want to extend your atonements. So you can flash heal someone which gives [10:48] them and you atonement. Shield someone else, renew someone else, renew someone else, and ta, you have yourself a fully ramped party. Using your surge of light flash heals to heal someone else and yourself is an incredibly effective way [11:03] of getting two atonements down very quickly. Now, before we split off and Weaver, and then we'll meet back up for larger cooldowns afterwards, there is one more move I want to add into this entire healing rotation, and that's [11:18] going to be Shadow Fiend. Shadow Fiend is going to summon out a dark effigy that just starts slapping things for us, and it'll give us some of our mana back, which is very important for uh now that our mana's been nerfed this season. [11:30] using this little buddy often. But you'll also enter what's called shadow covenant. Shadow covenant is going to transform your halo, your divine star, and your penants into shadowy versions of those spells, increasing the damage [11:44] and the healing of those spells by 35% while active. And note, with our talents, we're also going to be healing more while we have shadow spells out. And this is both for Oracle and for voidw weaver. So when you really need to [11:57] heal, knowing that you have shadow feed around can really help. That's going to look like this. Start by hitting your shadow fiend. Then hit your radiance. Put down your shadow or pain if you forgot. Then mind blast. Then hit that [12:09] dark reprimand, your shadow penance, and then go back to smiting like normal. You can usually get two dark reprimands out in this sequence. And I really hope that most amount of damage and the most amount of healing. That being said, for [12:23] Oracle, this is a minute and a half cool down. So you can use it to combine with your other cooldowns to do a lot of healing. Or you can use it when you have little extra healing down while you're waiting for your next big cool down. But [12:36] you use Shadow Fiend, the more you'll get your mana back. But there's one more move to talk about before we split into categories. Shadow Word Death. This is a fairly weak spell that it doesn't feel like it does a whole lot at first, but [12:51] with only a 10-second cooldown, if the target's below 20% health, it'll hit 150% harder. Now, in a pinch, it can be a nice little way to do more healing than you would have with smite. Void Weaver players, you do extra damage to [13:05] shields. So, shadow word death into a shield can be an excellent way to get a nice burst of healing. But shadow word death, while cool, isn't a main part of your rotation. But you want to know about it because if a target ends up low [13:19] and some extra healing out of them before they pass away. Note that it's a when there's nothing to hit. So sometimes it can be nice to top people off on the way out of a pull by using your execute shadow or death a two times [13:33] on a target before you walk away. And one more thing before we split off, you might be wondering, okay, well, how do I heal with this information? Well, when the damage comes in, I want you to cast radiance, then hit that mind blast, then [13:46] hit that penance. And a lot of the times that's going to get the job done in earlier level content. You see, discipline priest at first is going to going to be a little slow to them, but that's okay because no one should be [13:59] instantly dying in lower level content when you're trying to react and heal them. That being said, as you get to higher level content in World of Warcraft, you're going to need to prepare or pre- ramp in a poll to make [14:11] sure that everyone's okay. You're going to have to time your heals accurately in order to heal people through major damage. But I mean it when I say this, the skill level of something like mythic plus and delves goes up slowly. You will [14:24] very much so get used to that and find your timings on healing as you get more comfortable with bosses. It's not like you suddenly enter a difficulty where unless your friends like drag you into a plus 15 or something like that. I mean [14:39] it when I say it's a it's a nice and easy process. Start by reacting to the damage and you'll get better. But now we need to dive into Oracle in Void Weaver. So, let me explain them really quick. Voidwaver is easy mode. Not only is it [14:52] the easiest to learn, it's super fun and always online. I know this sounds silly, but in my last video talking about the two, I referred to it like an arcade racer. It's very easy to pick up. You have very fast, very available [15:04] cooldowns, and you'll be blasting lots of damage and lots of healing. But as mistiming these things can be a little bit disastrous. So, very much like an to drift and when to go straight in as fast as you can. That being said, it can [15:22] have its complexities, but it really is the easiest to learn. So, if you're just looking for the easiest difficulty, I highly recommend Void Weaver. If you're challenging or something that incorporates more shields and is a [15:35] little more technical and cooldown focused about managing cooldowns, you're going to like Oracle. Oracle has a lot of tricks up its sleeve, but it only has gas. Knowing how to use your tools correctly on Oracle will make you feel [15:49] incredible. I compared it to a simulation racer. Knowing how to race a car professionally is a lot of work, but you've probably seen a professional driver at work before. It's pretty impressive what they do, right? And so [16:01] will feel. If you're not sure which one to start with, I think Void Weaver is content, you're going to see both of these specs doing well for a very long time. Oracle might end up the winner in that it does more world record level [16:17] content, but that's simply because shielding is really strong because it has the stronger shields. Players might literally survive something that they couldn't survive before because of oracle shields. But that's no reason to [16:29] change what you pick at any skill level where you're doing keys below oh a 16 or a 17. I don't know how high we're going to climb this season, but trust me, if you're trying to hit keystone legend to get your 3k IO, you can do it on either [16:42] just fine. All right, it's finally time to talk about void Weaver. This is my personal favorite, and it it revolves around a 20 second and a 30 second coolown that you're going to basically always have running. So, like I [16:56] mentioned earlier, your shadow word death does do extra damage when you hit shields. And if you remember us talking about Shadow Fiend earlier, you're going to have access to Mindbender here. This is a 30-second version of that cooldown. [17:09] You're going to generate more mana more often. Your Mind Bender is going to do more damage. And this thing is up all the damn time. We love Mindbender in this household, but there's another more important part about Void Weaver. And if [17:22] build, then you already know. By hitting Mind Blast, you're going to send out an entropic rift. Hitting penants will make it larger, while hitting void blast will extend how long it's out. Your goal is to make it as big as it you can make it, [17:37] and it'll explode, dealing a ton of damage. Note that that damage is split evenly among all targets. So, if you're fighting in single target or you're fighting in mass AOE, it's going to do the same amount of healing when it [17:49] explodes. Typically speaking, your smite will also transform, as you might have noticed, into void blast, which does a significant amount more damage. And this is one of the primary methods in which you will be healing when you're on voidw [18:03] weaver. These void blast do a ton for you, especially when you're in your shadow covenant. One other trick about mindbender that you need to know is that you can extend its duration with penance, mind blast, and shadow or [18:16] death. So the more you can fit those into your rotation, the longer the mind to ultimately press Mind Blast and penance pretty often, but if you feel more shadowward deaths to get your little buddy to stay around longer. So, [18:32] I recommend starting with a shadow word pain, then get your mind bender out, then hit radiance, then hit Mind Blast, then that dark reprimand, then start spamming those void blasts to keep the portal going or the portal, the entropic [18:46] rift. One more dark reprimand will do it. And now we have a very large, very powerful rift that will heal our whole team. If you watched my last video, you might have noticed that I swapped where Radiance and Mind Blast is. That doesn't [18:59] matter too much anymore. We have a new talent that will extend the duration of active atonements. And typically speaking, if you've pressed void blast extended your atonements long enough to make Entropic Rift not difficult to [19:12] time. That being said, we have some changes with our tier set coming up a truck, but we'll talk about that in just a moment. Now, it's cool to have you do a bazillion damage and a bazillion healing. However, the other [19:28] scenario you might find yourself with is what if you're doing some super long heal check, right? Back-to-back largecale healing where you have to do a lot. If you've done Solia's Gambit already on the current season, you know [19:41] exactly what I'm talking about by detonating the bomb on the final boss. So, my recommendation is to stagger the cooldowns. So, let's start with the shadow word pain. Then we're going to cast our radiance, then our mind blast, [19:55] We're going to hit these void blasts, too. While we're waiting, just like normal. Then I hit penance, and then before the You don't have to do this, but that'll get us some more damage out of it. [20:09] Reapply my shadow pain, maybe redo my radiance, and go back to healing. It's so important to do this because you can stagger your cooldowns and get a whole stagger your cooldowns and get a whole lot more out of your cooldowns. [20:22] while you're blasting. Then look, my mind blast is up. I can use it again to continuously heal and keep the party going. And that's the trick to playing voidw weaver. You have three modes: offline, [20:36] big cooldowns, or extending cooldowns. And it's up to you to figure out when you need stuff. You're pretty weak when you're not in either of these forms. But if there's not a whole lot to heal, then seriously, you can just wait a second [20:49] for a big damage event and heal with your weaker spells. But of course, when the going gets rough, you're just one cooldown away from coming online and blasting a ton of damage. Now, before we go, let's talk about tier set. The two [21:04] set says that your void blast impendance damage is increased by 30% and void blast cast time is reduced by 20%. This just means more damage and more healing. Nothing to talk about here other than it feels good and it plays good and the [21:19] numbers are nice. The four set reads that void blast now causes Entropic Rift to grow. So your penance and your void blast will make it bigger. Collapsing void increases Entropic Rift's damage by an additional 10% and the damage of your [21:32] next mine blast is increased by up to 300% based on the size of the Entropic Rift when it collapses. Now, I'll have you when it collapses. Now, I'll have you know I typically hit 240 to 260% power [21:45] on my Mind Blast when I wasn't really thinking about it. It's not hard to get close to that 300%. And seriously, your Mind Blast will hit like a truck. I don't have any footage of it because it was all on the PTR, but that's the [21:58] use your radiance before your mind blast because if this were to do a million something damage, you would definitely want that to go through your atonements. and I highly recommend it. That being said, there's not a whole lot to talk [22:12] about here. Haste is preferred on voidw weaver over other stats. Like you're smattering of mastery and critical strike chance. I even have a little bit of versatility on here and it's not the end of the world. So try to really pile [22:26] reduction on your mind blast so you can fit in more spells more easily. But that's all there is to void weaver. It's simple. react to damage and press as many cooldowns as you want to get the [22:38] job done. And as you learn, you'll learn where to put on the gas and when to hit the brakes. It's very fun. It's very responsive. And honestly, the damage and the spells feel great to use. So, if you love it, give it a try. But all right, [22:52] it's finally time to talk about Oracle. There's a couple of key pieces here we need to talk about. First, Twin Sight. Three additional penance bolts are fired whenever you hit an enemy or an ally. So, let's say you heal an ally, three [23:05] bolts will go find an enemy. If you're healing, if you're hitting an enemy, excuse me, three of your bolts will go and find an ally. This is critical because this is going to mean that for your talent wheel and wo, your penance [23:17] bolts power up your next smite or your powered shield stacking eight times, you can get some gigantic shields and some gigantic smites out, which is very useful. Playing right into that is preventative measures. Powered shield [23:31] absorbs 30% additional damage and all damage by penant smite and holy nova are increased. So the feedback loop here is pretty powerful. So a lot of the times while you're doing your healing routine, you're going to want to use a shield [23:45] after your penants just to help any targets out, get an absorb on them and stay alive. And because your penants and your shield going to be very easy for you to be able to get these out quickly and easily. [23:59] Getting two to three out isn't hard at all. And when big damage comes in, you'll be happy that a few targets took less damage or didn't even take damage compared to the rest of the party. So, always remember this trick when you're [24:11] learning. And be very good about hitting penants on your allies when they need because you're always going to do AoE damage and you're always going to be doing that AoE healing. Now, it's finally time to talk about the [24:23] premonitions. This is a 45se secondond cool down that you have two charges of. It'll always start with premonition of insight, then go to piety, then soloulless, then clairvoyance, then cycle around back to insight. Note that [24:38] whenever you start content, you go into something, you'll actually be reset back to premonition of insight. So, let's talk about all these buffs. And I do have a weak or down below that will help you track what's running in case you get [24:50] a little lost. Premonition of insight reduces the cooldown of your next three spell casts by 7 seconds. Note that it won't consume a charge of this if you say use smite or shadowward pain, flash heal, renew because those moves don't [25:05] have cooldowns. So you could get a couple of dispels out or get a few more shields out than normal. And yeah, that could be nice, but there is a primary way of using insight and that's called machine gun penance. So let's start our [25:19] start with a radiance. Then, a mind blast. Then, premonition of insight. blast. Then, premonition of insight. Penance. Smite. Penance. Penance. Smite. Penance. Smite. Penance. Smite. Penance. [25:34] Smite. And that's kind of crazy, right? That is a lot of healing and a decent amount of damage given Oracle's damage is pretty damage given Oracle's damage is pretty low. And all it was was a 45second cool [25:47] down. Machine gun penencing is what makes insight go from a kind of cool utility cool down to a healing cool down. Now premonition of piety is quite literally a healing cool down. Increases your healing done by 20% in 70% of [26:01] overhealing on players is redistributed for 15 seconds on up to four allies. Premonition of piety is an awesome cooldown and you'll be happy every single time you get it because of clairvoyance at the end. You're always [26:14] going to have Piety every other cooldown. This makes it a very potent and very strong effect. You're going to want to use Piety carefully or just when the going gets rough. Afterwards, you're going to have Premonition of Soulless. [26:27] This is arguably the weaker of them for PvE, but your next single target healing spell grants your target a shield that absorbs 2.5 million damage and reduces their damage taken by 15% for 15 seconds. It's not bad, but because this [26:41] isn't up very often, solace is sort of like a meh healing cooldown. You'll use it to save someone's life. You'll use it just to move on to your next premonition. It's good, but it's not the best. Clairvoyance, on the other hand, [26:54] is the best. This is going to give you all of your premonitions at the exact insights, you're going to get the extra healing from PY, and that first heal is going to be a ginormous shield. Clairvoyance is excellent. Nothing wrong [27:10] about it. And then you cycle right back to Insight for some more machine gun penencing. But fear not. While this is confusing and you do have to learn it on Oracle, our tier set actually provides some very useful benefits to this. First [27:24] of all, the first bolt of each penance cast damages or heals for 200% more. Note that this is only on the primary penance bolt. So the first one that goes out, not the uh twin sight ones that come out. But having a 200% [27:38] harder-hitting first bolt is great and it feels good to have this tier set. The four set reads that casting premonition of piety or soloulless grants two stacks of premonition of insight at 100% effectiveness and you'll get some bonus [27:51] flat haste when you do so. But I'm going to have you ignore that second half. While it is nice to stack up your haste and you will feel that as you use it, here's the thing. Getting premonition of piety and premonition of soloulless [28:04] additionally stacks of insight means that your healing cooldowns kind of look like this. Premonition of insight is a healing cooldown through machine gun penance. Premonition of piety is a healing cooldown and two charges of [28:17] machine gun penance. Premonition of solace is a rather useless shield but can be nice in a pinch. Oh, and machine gun penance. And then clairvoyances, you guessed it, machine gun penants, healing cool down, and a giant shield. So once [28:32] going to be able to do these massive machine gun style heals. And of course, If you want to get a couple of shields out or dispel multiple things, like if there's two magic debuffs, hey, you know what? You can get rid of both of them. [28:47] But this is a very powerful part of the kit and what makes Oracle so special. But I mean it. When you don't have these or your shadow fiend running, you feel That's why those shields are so important. Getting out that extra layer [29:02] of protection in your downtime will make your life a lot easier. Oracle is tricky. I find it to be a little difficult to pug with because when the going gets rough, Oracle needs to tap in its cooldowns. And if you tap [29:15] to tap in its cooldowns. And if you tap in too many times, you simply run out. But much like my professional driving analogy, if you use the tools correctly, you're going to look good while you do it. It's very satisfying to play. And [29:27] while I do prefer Voidwaver, I still have a grand old time on Oracle. Well, until the pugs drive me up the wall. But I really do love Oracle. And if this is the one that sounded interesting to you, I hope you love it as much as I do. [29:42] some of our cooldowns. There's some stuff here that's shared between both of doing on voidw weaver and on Oracle, it's time to talk about what we can do. First things first, let's talk about our biggest cool down, power infusion. This [29:58] is a 2minut that gives you and a homie 20% haste. Note that if you cast it on you, it'll find another target for power infusion. If you cast it on a homie, it'll automatically also cast on you. This 20% flat haste buff is just shy of [30:14] a blood lust. So, this is a pretty powerful cooldown when you Now, there is like a whole priority list as to who you should give it to, but when you're first learning, use your PI on you. Use that as an additional healing cooldown to [30:27] help you do more damage and more healing and thus saving the party's life. As you get more comfortable though, you'll be sending PI to assist your teammates. Not healing, but they'll hopefully be doing more damage as well. There are some [30:40] specs that just do not benefit from power infusion, and that's okay. You're learning. And of course, you can always go and look that kind of stuff up later in your journey. Ultimate penitence is a 4-minute cool down. You fly up into the [30:56] 4-minute cool down. You fly up into the air. You get a gigantic shield for 100% of your health, and you're unaffected by knockbacks and crowd control effects. While ascended, you do a bazillion pendants bolts. You can either cast this [31:10] on an ally for healing and heal up your team or use it for damage. Although I'll voidw weaver right now just to show you it does make your entropic rift bigger. Voidw weaver players take note. That being said, it's one of the stronger [31:24] healing cooldowns in the game. And it did just get buffed. You fly right up into the air and you start slamming down penance bolts. It's a great feeling and you can move while you use it, too. I highly recommend getting comfortable [31:37] with ultimate penitence. It's nice to hold on to if you want to save the day and it actually does a significant amount of damage during its burst. So, this might be a good move to use during a damage phase, like say during big mama [31:50] and floodgate when you take out all her drones. Evangelism is a 1 and a half minute cool down that extends all active atonements by 6 seconds and it will heal 6.2 2 million split evenly among all of your atonement targets. In raid content, [32:05] you won't even feel the healing, but extending atonements is a major part of your raid ramp as you cast a bunch of renews and shields and then hit two radiance cast that evangelism is essential to getting your healing done. [32:19] But in dungeons, you can actually use this to save someone's life or to save the party's life and catch back up just a little bit quicker. At one and a half minutes, it's up pretty often and you can use it to save Christmas and more. [32:32] Powerword barrier is a threeminute cooldown that you can drop on the floor and for the next 10 seconds, everyone inside is taking 20% less damage. This is stupid powerful as it'll combine with any other defensives in the game. Now, [32:47] the hardest part is getting your allies to move into your powerward barrier. But while there is an alternative talent you can take, I highly recommend learning how to use barrier, and that's why I have it on this build. On the defensive [32:59] side, pain suppression can be put on any target, and yourself included. It's a 3minute recharge, and you can reduce its cool down with powerward shield cast. While it is two charges, it's a 40% damage resist for 8 seconds, making it [33:14] the second best defensive in the game. only beaten out by preservation of ochre's time dilation, but that one has some caveats to it. This is just a nice raw 40% damage reduction. Save a tank's life, save your own life. It's a [33:28] phenomenal spell, and you're going to want to have it nearby. On the defensive side for yourself, you have fade. It's a 20 second cool down that removes all attacking range against you for 10 seconds. You might be going, "Okay, does [33:43] it stop damage?" Well, yeah, it actually does. We have a talent that makes us take 10% less damage while fade is running. So, it's a 20 second cool down that gets you 10% damage reduction. Well, remember the flash heal? If we [33:57] flash heal anybody, we flash heal ourselves, gaining that protective light. So, now on a moment's notice, I can have 20% DR. Don't let anybody tell you discipline priest is squishy. If they told you discipline priest is [34:10] squishy, then they simply didn't put a shield on themselves or hit fade flash heal. Flash heal fade will save your life so many times over. And you got one more trick. That's going to be desperate prayer. Increases maximum health by 40% [34:24] for 10 seconds and it instantly heals you for that amount. So essentially you for that amount. So essentially almost half your life bar gets healed up instantaneously. Oh, and you're 40% thicker. one of the [34:36] better defenses in the game, but it is on a 1 and a half minute cool down. But you're playing disc. It can be hard when you're in the middle of all these spells and all this healing and you can off the global cooldown hit fade or hit [34:49] desperate prayer. This means that you can very easily weave it in to keep yourself alive and I recommend that you do so. Another one worth talking about is our master spell. Master spell is a 2-minute but it will remove magical [35:01] harmful effects on your allies very quickly. it's a short channel and then everyone in the area will lose a magic debuff. This is awesome and it's very powerful in some fights when there's a lot of debuffs going out. That being [35:15] said, it also removes debuffs off of enemies. And so if you're ever in enemies. And so if you're ever in floodgate and the uh the like the mossy enemies right before Swampface comes out, if they all get their regeneration [35:27] off, you can mass dispel it off of all of the enemies, essentially saving the day. So, always recommend keeping massive spell around. I have two more to really talk about before I tell you to go explore. Um, and that's going to be [35:40] dispel magic. This allows you to just dispel one magical effect. You only cure magical and poison with your standard dispel purify. So, the trick to priest is that you can dispel offensive magic as well. So, you ever see something [35:56] blinking above a health bar, read it. If it says that it's magic, that means that you can cast the spell on them and get rid of the effect. Power fortitude increases everyone's stamina by 5%. This is essentially a defensive. It makes [36:11] thicker, and that's a good thing. It'll help them stay alive. Always try to resurrected, uh, as you don't want to forget about it mid dungeon and then someone dies by 5% of their health. It has happened to me. I don't want it to [36:26] happen to you. Now, this tutorial is a beginner's tutorial. There's a lot more things like halo, which does damage and healing. That's kind of a nice fun button to press, but isn't the most important move in this. And your one [36:40] crowd control move, psychic scream, where you have to get within 8 yards of the opponent, and then you can psychic scream, fearing them. And remember, most machines and undeads cannot be feared. [36:52] about your kit, read through your talents. But that's going to do it for this one. I mean it. Experiment, play around, and have fun with Discipline Priest. It is precise. It is a little difficult. And you know what? I used to [37:06] call it the worst pug healer. And while it might still be the worst pug healer, it's no longer like a C minus kind of deal. I actually think it's a B minus, a strong pug healer that can do a lot. It can get difficult at times, especially [37:20] can get difficult at times, especially if your group isn't the best. However, that's okay. When you nail it on Discipline Priest, you feel on top of the world. And there's very few specializations that feel just as [37:32] precise and granular as Discipline Priest. But I absolutely love it. If you have any questions, hit me up down below. And thank you so so much for watching. Take care, friends. I'll see you in the next one.
