# 5 Instagram Algorithm Changes You Must Make in 2026

> Source: [5 Instagram Algorithm Changes You Must Make in 2026](https://youtube.com/watch?v=mZa7MGNyb5U)

## Summary

This video outlines five critical changes to the Instagram algorithm strategy for 2026, focusing on non-talking content, trial reels, AI tools, engagement types, and search optimization. The creator emphasizes that adapting to these changes can lead to more views, viral growth, and faster follower gains with less effort.

### Key Points

- **Algorithm Update Warning** [00:00] — Instagram has released a new AI algorithm update, requiring a complete change in content strategy to grow faster in 2026. Deleting posts may lower views.
- **Non-Talking Content Requirement** [00:25] — More than 50% of content should be non-talking, such as text-overlaid videos or interactive posts, to reach a larger audience and improve completion rates.
- **Trial Reels Strategy** [02:22] — Post up to five trial reels daily, which are shown only to non-followers. Batch create content, repurpose posts, and repost successful trial reels to the main feed.
- **Feed Reordering Feature** [03:40] — Instagram now allows users to reorder their feed, enabling creators to place viral videos at the top to reduce anxiety and increase follows and engagement.
- **Recreating Breakout Videos** [04:20] — Use AI tools like ContentBuddy.ai to find breakout videos, analyze best posting times, and recreate scripts, hooks, and hashtags for success.
- **Focus on Key Engagement Types** [07:42] — Prioritize reposts, follows, and shares over saves and likes. Each share can equal 200-300 extra views, and follows signal content quality to the algorithm.
- **Search Optimization** [09:42] — Optimize for Instagram and Google search by including keywords in hooks, thumbnails, and descriptions. This increases indexing and visibility.

### Conclusion

To succeed on Instagram in 2026, creators must adapt to the algorithm by focusing on non-talking content, trial reels, AI tools, strategic engagement, and search optimization. Implementing these changes can lead to significant growth with less time spent on content creation.

## Transcript

Did you know that if you're deleting your post on Instagram right now, it could be lowering your views, or maybe you didn't realize that Instagram recently released a new AI algorithm update. You need to completely change your content strategy if you want to be able to grow faster in 2026.
Well, don't panic, because by the end of this video, you're going to know the five biggest changes you need to make right now with the current Instagram algorithm, so you can get more views, go viral, and grow faster, all while spending less time creating content.
And please, don't skip any of these, because they're only going to keep getting more and more important. In fact, the last one is by far the most important. Changeable warning is you need to make sure that more than 50% of your content right now is going to be non-talking content when it comes to Instagram.
And if you don't know what this is, let me show you. So when I say non-talking content, there are actually several different ways to do this. For example, if we look at this creator right here, we can see that she's not actually talking in this piece of content right here.
I'm not sure why it's saying that it's having a playback issue, but let's look at this one. It's the same thing. So is it cancer? Cancer? Not cancer. And then it gets people to actually go through. She's not going to talk, but it's going to get people to comment. Basically, you're able to vote inside of the comments.
There are several different ways you can actually do this. If we come over here to Dr. Jones, we can see the same thing over here. If we actually look at his content, for example, this one right here, he has a really good hook right here, him eating some sushi, him doing a funny reaction,
and then there's a bunch of text. So there's no talking going on inside of this content. This allows you to do several things. One, this actually allows this content to reach a much larger audience because Instagram isn't going to be focused.
on geolocation. Secondly, there's a long description right here, and all of your no-talking content should have a long description, because what this is going to do is get people to read the description. The video is going to be looping in the background. This is a really good sign
of Instagram, because you have a very high completion rate on that content, which crushes. And then the other thing that you want to make sure that you're doing here is you want to make sure that this type of content is very, very shareable, or you have a comment to call to
action on it. Now, there are other ways that you could also do this. For example, you do a piece of content like this with some type of thing. It could be a house trend. It could be whatever you want. It doesn't even just have to be for houses. And then she's going in or she's going out. Again,
interactive content, no talking. It allows you to create a ton of content. It allows you to get more content out. And like I was sharing before, the Instagram algorithm absolutely loves this content right now. You need to mix in at least half of your content. It should be like this. Change of
too is that you need to understand that posts, carousels, and reels aren't the most important type of content that you could be posting on Instagram right now. The most important thing that you could do is post trial reels, which you need to make sure that you're doing is following
this three-step strategy. First and foremost, you need to be posting up to five trial reels every day. I'm not saying you need to post five every day. Sometimes post one, sometimes two, sometimes three, but up to five. The easiest way to be able to do this is going to be batch creating content.
Now the reason that this works is because trial reels only get shown to people that don't know who you are. So guess what? If you posting several times a day to people that don know who you are it actually increases the odds that they end up seeing your regular content In addition to that Instagram just added in delayed explosions when it comes to trial reels So you could post a trial reel and two weeks later three weeks later a month later
it could end up going viral, and this is a huge advantage right now. Secondly, you could actually take advantage of those posts I just showed you and change them to one for your trial reels so that it doesn't take you a ton of time for you to actually go through and create this type of content.
And then on top of that, whenever a trial reel does really well, you want to make sure that you're posting that to your actual main feed. What this is going to allow you to do is grow faster on Instagram and get way more views. In addition to that, Instagram just released the capability for you to actually rearrange your feed.
Check this out. So what you're now able to do on Instagram is you can actually come over here, click on one of your videos, you can scroll down a little bit, and you're going to see Reorder Feed. What this is now going to allow you to do is actually completely reorder how things actually show on your feed.
Simply, what you're going to do is you're going to click something and you'll be able to drag and you'll be able to rearrange. What I would strongly suggest that you do is rearrange your content so that your most viral videos, your most viewed videos are all at the top of your feed.
This is going to make you way less anxious about Instagram. It's also going to increase the odds that people end up following you, people end up engaging with your content. and quite frankly, that people end up getting value when they actually go to your page.
That change number three is you need to make sure that you're focused on recreating breakout videos and that you're posting at the right time on Instagram. Because if you mess either of these things up, you are literally going to be passing up on the easiest way ever to get more followers.
And the best part is, there's actually an AI tool that can help you with this. Now, the AI tool that makes this incredibly easy is going to be ContentBuddy.ai. If we come on our Instagram right here, we can see that they have tons of different tools. For example, if we come under Reach Optimization, we'll see Best Time to Post.
This allows you to actually type in your handle or somebody else's. For example, let's say that we want to recreate this creator's content right here and copy their success. We could literally just put in their username right here, and this is going to go through and look up the best days,
any best times that they post based on when they're actually creating content. And what this is going to do is allow you to know best time to post, the best days, so that you can optimize your content to reach a better audience. Because you can make the best post in the world, but if you're posting at the wrong time, I promise you, you will never get the reach that you want or that you deserve.
We can see right here that when she posts on Tuesday, 4 to 6 p.m., 92,000 views. Tuesday from 12 to 1 a.m., 77,000 views. Saturday from 12 to 1 a.m., 71,000 views. So we can see that most of the time, she is posting pretty late in the day.
Now, she is on the West Coast, so it's a little bit different for her, but as we can see, her later content performs way better than if she posts earlier in the day. And as we can see here, she actually almost never posts earlier in the day from the data.
Now, the other thing that's incredibly useful that ContentBuddy has right here is if we, again, come back over here into Research and Insights, December Trends, we can find the latest trending topics and content ideas for our niche. In addition to that they have a keyword finder where we can uncover exactly what our audience is actually searching for but this competitor tracker tool right here is incredible Because we can actually come over here and we can click on find breakout videos
And what this is going to do is actually find posts that are performing two times above each competitor's average views. And you're actually able to add in whatever list of competitors that you want. And we can see that this creator right here made this breakout post.
It got 175,000 views when their average video gets 34,000 views. and if we click on recreate right here, this is going to write us a brand new script, brand new hook, brand new hashtags, brand new description, based on this original, so that we can recreate this video.
And if we actually click on this right here, this will actually pull up the post. We can verify that it did incredibly well, and when we come back over here, we're going to have an answer. Not just any answer, this literally gives us an optimized script based off of theirs. It's going to be based on that same link.
A hook based off of theirs. It's going to be a better, more comprehensive hook. It's going to get people to actually watch content more. We have a caption right here. We have the hashtags. And now we're able to recreate that post literally in just a few seconds.
And if you're not using an AI tool like contentbuddy.in, quite frankly, this is the only AI tool that allows you to do all this. You are going to get left behind in 2026 because the creators that are going to replace you aren't going to be AI creators.
But instead, they're going to be creators that are using AI. Now, the best part about ContentBuddy is that if you go to the pin comment below, you can get started with it today with a seven-day free trial. I would have never blown up on Instagram if it wasn't for this tool.
This tool also helps this creator, this creator, and this creator spend less time creating content and blow up faster. They can help you do the same thing. A change number four is you need to make sure that you're focused on the right types of engagement right now on Instagram.
I see so many creators mess this up. You shouldn't be focused on saves. You shouldn't be focused on likes. Instead, there are three other things that you need to make sure that you're focusing on. Here they are. So that first type of engagement you want to make sure that you focus on is going to be reposts.
If you don't know what reposts are, it's going to be when somebody actually kind of retweets your content. So the same thing that you could do on Twitter, if you could do it on X, you can now do it on Instagram. It's Instagram's newest form of engagement, and this is one of the easiest ways for you to be able to get more views.
Because if you have somebody with 100,000 followers, 20,000, 50,000 followers, actually repost a piece of content of yours, guess what's going to happen? The content's going to get shown to all of their followers, and this can massively increase the views that you get.
The second type of engagement you want to make sure that you're going after, it's going to be people following you. And this is probably one of the most important ones because I want you to think about it like this. Instagram knows what piece of content somebody just watched. So if Instagram sees, hey, somebody watched this piece of content and then they followed this person,
then clearly they like this piece of content. And if they see a bunch of different people following, well, guess what? It's a huge sign to Instagram that they should push out that piece of content even more. And that last type of engagement that you need to make sure you're going after are going to be shares.
For every one share you get on Instagram, it can equal an extra 200 to 300 views that you wouldn't have gotten. Now all three of these types of engagement have something in common and that is that you need to make sure either in the first line or in the last line of your description that you incentivizing this You should be telling people to share with somebody that will get value from it
Share who this reminds you of. Share for X, Y, Z reasons. You should be doing the same exact thing with recreating. You should be doing the same exact thing with following. And no, this isn't corny. This isn't cheesy. It's not going to make your audience not like you or distrust you.
It's simply going to get them to take the actions so that they can help you get more views, go viral, and grow faster. And Instagram's algorithm actually loves this stuff. Now, that last thing that you need to make sure you're doing is you need to make sure that you're focusing more on search when it comes to Instagram.
Because they just completely changed what their search feature actually looks like. In fact, they changed it in two ways. The first way that they changed it is now when you actually come over here, and let's say that we do a search for something like Jacks4T,
you're going to see for you right here, you're going to see profiles, you're going to see audios, you're going to see tags. So you want to make sure that your profile is showing up here. The way that you're going to get this to happen is you need to go to Jacks4T,
get inside of your name, and inside of your description. This is going to increase the odds that people actually find your page if you do this with something really high volume. In addition to that, when you come over for you right here, this is then going to show you all of the popular content under here,
and you want to try to rank for search, what you're going to notice here is that every single one of these almost have a keyword inside of the hook. So you need to make sure that whatever keyword you're trying to rank for on Instagram that it is showing in the hook of your content, in the thumbnail of your content,
because it's drastically increased the odds that Instagram is going to index your content for that search term, and this is going to help you get more views, get more reach. And if you start to own this search-based real estate for your niche,
there's nothing that's going to stop you from growth. Now, the next example of this search is how you could actually do it on Google now. So let's say that we come over here and we search for something or your audience searches for something like Instagram algorithm. Guess what?
If you actually do a search now, we're going to see short videos and this is going to show a bunch of Instagram posts. We see Instagram, Instagram, Instagram. If we come over here and type in something like dash fishing tips, guess what?
The same thing. If we scroll down a little bit, we're going to see Instagram. We're going to see Instagram. So you need to make sure that you are actually getting yourself to rank. And if we look at this, the first line of the description is showing here. In addition to that, it typically has the actual keyword, bass, inside of the thumbnail.
And we're seeing the same things that you would see on Instagram search. So really the main takeaway here is you want to be optimizing for search because AI bots are going to be searching. People are searching. And people love watching the short form content as opposed to reading a huge block of text right here.
your content could actually get picked up right here and get sourced or cited and this is just going to help increase the traffic that's coming to your Instagram page. Now if you enjoyed this video and you want to learn how to grow faster on Instagram in 2026, I would strongly suggest
you check out this video next. It walks you through a bunch of other strategies that you need to make sure you're implementing that I wasn't able to cover in this video. I'll see you over there.
