[0:00] What do you think are your main mistakes [0:02] in Valerant that are holding you back [0:03] from ranking up? Is it your aim, your [0:06] game sense, your mechanics, or your [0:08] mental? Now, as someone who's coached [0:10] over 500 players and hit rank one, I can [0:13] tell you the real mistake holding you [0:14] back most is awareness. And it wasn't [0:18] even in those four options. Let me [0:19] explain what I mean. To aim properly, [0:22] you first need to know that you're about [0:24] to take a fight. You're about to need to [0:26] aim. That anticipation is key for your [0:29] hand to even move. Think about when you [0:32] do a reaction time test, right? You [0:33] already know what's about to happen. [0:35] Same thing when you aim train. You've [0:36] chosen a task and you know what's [0:38] coming. So, you anticipate. That's how [0:40] your body works. You have a stimulus. [0:42] The stimulus gets sent to your [0:43] receptors. Your receptors sends that [0:45] message to your brain. The brain [0:47] processes it and the brain sends the [0:49] message to your aectors, which is your [0:51] hand. And then you react. But when you [0:54] anticipate, it becomes like this. You [0:56] have the stimulus, then it goes to your [0:58] brain, then it goes to your hand. There [1:00] are way fewer steps and your response is [1:02] faster and cleaner. I'm going to break [1:05] this down for you in Valerant. But [1:07] before we get into that, let's thank the [1:08] sponsor of this video, Snaply. If you're [1:11] like me and you like spending on games, [1:13] skins, or battle passes, come here. I [1:15] found a way to actually save money doing [1:17] what we're already doing. It's a [1:19] cashback e gift card app. It's super [1:22] simple. So, here's what I did. I bought [1:24] a Riot gift card through Snaply. bought [1:26] a new skin and Snap Play gave me cash [1:28] back instantly, like real money back [1:31] into my wallet. That's cash I can use [1:33] for my next battle pass skins or even [1:35] other gift cards. Same thing works if [1:37] you're subbing to Twitch, grabbing an [1:39] Xbox credit or whatever. I even got cash [1:42] back when I grabbed Netflix gift cards. [1:44] And if you use my link or QR code below, [1:46] you'll get 20% cash back on your first [1:48] order and 10% on your second. So, if [1:51] you're putting $50 into Valerant, you're [1:53] getting $10 right back on that first [1:54] order. That's literally like a free skin [1:57] or saving up for your next battle pass. [1:59] Plus, Snaply has this XP quest going on. [2:02] If you buy a gift card through them, [2:04] post a pick of your collection, your [2:06] stats, your favorite merch, whatever, [2:09] you can tag Snaply and use the #napley [2:12] XP, and you could win even more extra [2:14] stuff. That means more valin skins. [2:17] They're doing monthly giveaways for con [2:18] hotel gift cards, gaming credits, anime [2:21] con perks. The more people you join, the [2:23] bigger the prize pool gets. If you're [2:25] already dropping money on Riot or Twitch [2:27] or whatever, Snaply is just smarter. [2:30] You're getting a cut back on what you [2:31] spent instead of leaving it just out [2:34] there to drive. The link is below. Check [2:36] it out. Let me know if you want any [2:37] anything cool. Now, let's get back to [2:39] the video. Whenever you're in an area, [2:42] that area gives you context. When I am a [2:44] lobby and I'm playing a death match, [2:47] there absolutely will be people in [2:49] lobby. Those possible fights are what we [2:52] call timers. Let me show you what I [2:54] exactly mean by this. Whenever I'm in [2:56] this area, there's a lobby. A lobby, [2:59] there's always people. C, there's always [3:01] people. Garage, there's always people. [3:03] There's often the spawn window. So now I [3:06] already tell myself, where can people be [3:08] here? See, long behind me when I'm here [3:12] short [3:14] when I take breaks of it. [3:21] Um, I recorded [3:24] a recorded path of defense. Like it's [3:28] the same thing for [ __ ] any other [3:30] map. I guess just because it's a [3:32] different map doesn't mean that string [3:34] does not work the same. You know, [3:36] Haven's the most the easiest way to [3:39] think about it. Like [ __ ] this guy [3:42] player. One more dead grass lobby. I [3:45] mean, there you go. They always come at [3:47] the same places. You remember them. You [3:49] remember the fights. You remember the [3:50] timers. Now, let's go more in depth. [3:53] Now, I have a thought of a client/ a [3:57] fan. All right. The thing that's very [3:59] important here is to know, is he [4:01] anticipating? Does he remember where the [4:03] fights come from or is he just reacting? [4:06] If he's reacting, he's playing wrong. [4:08] All right. Here, he reacted late. He [4:11] didn't anticipate. The only reason he [4:13] turned around is because of the sound. [4:15] He didn't actually react properly, [4:16] right? So that's a delayed reaction due [4:18] to him not remembering people or see. [4:21] All right. When he's here, let's see [4:22] what's going on. [4:25] He's being very very very cautious of [4:27] everything. That's wrong. There's [4:30] they're not everywhere. They're at these [4:32] they're at these exact same spots every [4:34] single time. So he should not be [4:35] worried. Now there's always a spawn B. [4:38] The guy B can always come A. All right. [4:40] That's a possibility. That's a timer. [4:43] However, you see how late he's going to [4:45] react to this. His crosser didn't even [4:47] move yet. So that means he did not [4:49] anticipate the player. Therefore, he [4:51] reacts late again. So he's surprised [4:53] that a player is there. Long is [4:55] possible. CT is possible. Short is [4:57] possible again. So you see how he swung [4:59] short. He knew someone was short. [5:02] However, he swung without any purpose. [5:04] He was surprised to see the player [5:06] short, which he shouldn't. Therefore, he [5:08] gets punished. He doesn't anticipate. [5:10] When we're here, we know there's always [5:12] someone a lobby. We know there's someone [5:13] someone see. [5:15] All right. Someone spawn window. All [5:17] right. Now, someone lobby, right? We [5:18] know someone is lobbying, but we're [5:20] swinging without any purpose. We're not [5:23] putting any type of focus on what's in [5:25] front of us. We don't anticipate. We're [5:27] purely hoping that the enemy whiffs and [5:31] then we get there on time. But if we [5:33] hope for the enemy to whiff, we will [5:35] instantly get one tapped. In every [5:37] single gunfight that he took, he needed [5:40] the enemy to whiff. He never reacted [5:42] first. He never was able to shoot first. [5:45] Compare it to mine. I just literally [5:47] destroyed them the moment I was there. [5:49] If I didn't, it was just a whiff. And [5:51] that's okay. We're human. But in this [5:53] case, he's not giving himself a chance. [5:55] He's just depending on luck to win his [5:57] gunfights. Now, I don't know if you guys [5:59] realize, but most of what I'm talking [6:01] about is pattern recognition. So, the [6:04] players slash the fights are often taken [6:07] at the same places. There's always these [6:10] fights, this possibility. What's very [6:13] important is for you guys to realize, [6:16] wait, people cannot be here. Wait, [6:18] there's always someone here. Wait, [6:20] there's always someone here. When you [6:22] have context and you're aware of the [6:24] possibilities, these timers will be [6:27] created. Whenever you know a timer is [6:29] possible, your brain will go into a high [6:33] focus mode. It's going to be like, [6:34] "Wait, yo, be ready. There's someone." [6:36] Therefore, you will always react and you [6:39] will always be able to shoot first. [6:41] However, if you don't anticipate and you [6:44] play reactively, you're always depending [6:46] on others to whiff. Now, I'm just going [6:48] to give you guys a little preview of [6:50] what I some I often coach in a comp [6:53] environment. All right, let's start. [6:56] They want pistol round. All right, it's [6:58] eco. Uh-huh. If they're eco, there's two [7:01] options usually of what they will do in [7:03] the round. They will all either all go [7:06] in the mains, A main, B main, or they [7:08] will go mid. All right, now let's see [7:11] how it goes. [7:13] Anti- rush setup top mid. So neon top [7:17] mid tiles and one tiles. So you know [7:19] there's at least two mid. So the rest [7:22] are probably in the mains, B main, A [7:24] main. We don't know. Anything is [7:26] possible, right? But we know there's two [7:27] mid. Mid player died. All right, ISO's [7:30] gone. Now you see how there's no [7:31] followup mid. there's no one else mid. [7:34] This tells you, all right, so they don't [7:36] want to go mid in the end. They want to [7:38] do something else. They probably want to [7:40] go in the mains then. So here, A main [7:42] and B main are vulnerable. Now, you see [7:44] how there's no noise, right? This tells [7:47] you they are walking up. If they are [7:50] walking up, should you play very scared? [7:53] Absolutely not. You have a gun [7:55] advantage. You know they are walking up, [7:57] you just need to hold the angle and then [7:59] boom, kill them as they're walking up. [8:01] Pretty simple, right? So now retrieving [8:04] flash, there's still the same scenario [8:06] where they're playing the main. So now [8:08] here we know that they're coming anytime [8:11] soon now. So we should be very very very [8:14] ready and we should hold the angle [8:16] tight. We should not be jiggling. We [8:17] should not be holding wide. So now the [8:20] the client/fan [8:22] is surprised that there's someone be [8:26] shouldn't be. There's absolutely can be [8:28] someone there. So now someone died mid. [8:31] So now they could go back mid or they [8:33] could go back be mid. We don't know. One [8:36] a m kill. So we know one mid, one A, one [8:38] B, one missing, two mid. They both died. [8:42] All right. So one A, one was mid. Spike [8:46] mid. So now the spike is [8:49] we are waiting. And now we have zero [8:52] confirmation of where the players are. [8:55] Right. So this tells us about the [8:58] timers. What is possible in front of us? [9:02] It's very simple. Anything except mid. [9:06] So now if we're playing peak, the only [9:09] thing that's important to us right in [9:11] front of us that we want to do properly [9:13] is take care of B main. That's the only [9:17] thing that is possible that we should [9:19] pay attention to. So now if we're [9:21] swinging B main/holding it, we should be [9:23] ready, which the client/fan wasn't. [9:27] Therefore, she gets punished. You see [9:30] how we played with probabilities? We [9:33] played with the context of the [9:34] information that tells us what are the [9:36] timers. They are not mid. They have to [9:39] be be made. Therefore, I need to be [9:40] ready. They are not here. They have to [9:42] be here. This is pattern recognition. [9:44] Once you know which happening, you have [9:47] a timer in front of you and you pay [9:48] attention to the timer. So, here's a [9:51] little quick recap. The area gives you [9:55] context. That context gives you [9:57] possibilities. Those possibilities tells [10:00] you where and when a fight might happen. [10:04] That's what we call a timer. Now, being [10:06] aware of the timers, depending on the [10:09] information given to you, depending on [10:11] your experience, is how you will set [10:13] yourself up for success. But this is [10:16] just one of the big part. There are [10:18] still a bunch of other mistakes you can [10:20] do, of course, but that's the biggest [10:23] one you guys all do. So, if you guys [10:25] want me to break down more mistakes of [10:26] what you guys possibly might be doing, [10:28] drop a like, hit subscribe, and let me [10:30] know in the comments.
