New Google AI Studio update is insane. And yes, this one matters for SEO, too. Today, I'm going to show you the new tool Google just dropped inside AI Studio. It fixes one of the ugliest problems in AI app building. It's free, it's live right now, and it takes 30 seconds to use. This small update can make your app look 10 times more trustworthy. And trust is exactly what Google's search algorithm loves to see. Stick with me because I'm going to show you exactly how it works. Let's talk SEO for a second because that's where this update actually matters. Google AI Studio is the tool that lets anyone build an app just by typing what they want. No code, no developers. You describe it and Gemini builds it for you. It's grown a lot over the last year. You can now build full apps, connect them to Google Workspace, set up logins, even push your project straight to GitHub. But there was always one big problem, a problem that hurt trust. And trust is everything in SEO. When you build an app in AI Studio and hit deploy, you got a link, but not a nice link. You got something like this: burning-man-animal-cuddle-614365371127-us-west-1-run-app. a real example. I'm not joking. Would you click that link? Would you trust that link? Would you share that link with a client? I wouldn't, and neither would you. Think about what that means for SEO. If you haven't met already, I'm the digital avatar of Julian Goldie, CEO of SEO agency Goldie Agency. Whilst he's helping clients get more leads and customers, I'm here to help you get the latest AI updates. And Julian Goldie reads every comment, so make sure you comment below. Think about what that means for SEO. Google looks at trust signals. Real users look at trust signals, too. A weird, random, scary-looking link makes people bounce. It makes people scared to click. And when people don't click, or they click and leave right away, that hurts your rankings. So here's the fix. On July 10th, 2026, Google AI Studio announced something called custom URLs. Now, instead of that scary, random link, you can give your app a real name. A name that lives under the ai.studio domain. So, instead of burning-man-animal-cuddle, you get something like goldy-agency-tools.ai.studio. Clean. Simple. Something a real person would actually click. Here's how it works. You go into the publishing menu inside AI Studio. You type the subdomain you want, or you use the one Google suggests for you. You hit deploy. Done. Your app now lives at a clean, memorable address. But, here's the open loop. Not everyone gets to keep the name they want. Google is handing these out first come, first served. That means good names go fast. If someone else already grabbed the name you wanted, you have to pick a different one. So, if you're planning to use this, don't wait around. And here's something you need to know before you get attached to a name. You can change your URL later. But, if you want to move that name to a different app, you first have to unpublish or delete the app that's using it right now. Once you do that, the name becomes free again. And anyone else watching this video could grab it before you do. So, plan your name early. Treat it like you treat a domain name for your business. Now, let's talk about why this actually matters for SEO, not just for looks. Clean URLs build trust. Trust builds clicks. Clicks and engagement are things search engines pay attention to. A messy, random URL looks like spam. A clean, branded URL looks like a real business. Every SEO agency will tell you the same thing. Structure and trust signals matter, whether it's your website or an app you're sharing online. Let me give you a real-world example of how you could use this. Say you run an SEO business, like we do at Goldy Agency. You could build a free tool inside AI Studio. Something simple. A tool that checks a website's meta title length. Or a tool that generates content ideas based on a keyword. Normally, you'd have to send people that scary random link. Now, you can send them something like free SEO audit.ai.studio. That link alone builds trust before they even click it. That's the real value here. It's not just a prettier link, it's a trust signal. And trust signals are the backbone of SEO. Now, here's something else worth knowing. This custom URL update isn't happening alone. Google has been stacking features into AI Studio all year. It can already build full stack apps. It can build native Android apps. It can connect straight into Google workspace. It can set up a Firebase database and login system for you automatically. You can push your finished project straight to GitHub or into Google Anti-Gravity for deeper development. Custom URLs is the final piece. It's Google saying, "We want your app to look like a real finished product, not a test, not a prototype, a real thing people can trust and use." And one more thing, if you're building tools like this to show off your SEO knowledge or to bring in leads for your business, you've got a bigger problem to solve first. You can build the best AI tool in the world, but if nobody finds your website on Google, none of it matters. That's exactly what we do at Goldie Agency. We help you rank higher on Google so people actually find your content, your tools, and your business. If you want more traffic and more leads, book a free SEO strategy session with our team. Link is in the comments and the description below. All right, let's keep going because there's more you need to know about how to actually use this the right way. First thing, naming matters more than people think. Don't just slap your app's random working title on the URL. Think about what someone would type, search, or remember. If your tool is about SEO audits, name it something clear, not clever. Clear. Clear beats clever every single time when it comes to being found and remembered. Second thing, this is not a replacement for your real website domain. This is a subdomain under ai.studio. It's great for demos, for tools, for quick shares, but if you're building something you want to rank long-term on Google, you still want your own domain, your own hosting, your own SEO strategy behind it. Think of of custom URL as your app's business card. Your real website is still the storefront. Third thing, watch out for region limits. Some users on the Google AI forums have reported issues with domain mapping depending on which region their app deploys to. If you're mapping a custom domain through Cloud Run instead of using the free ai.studio option, double-check your region first. It can save you a headache later. Let's zoom out for a second because I want you to see the bigger picture here. A year ago, building an app meant hiring a developer, writing code, setting up hosting, and hoping it would work. Today, you can describe an app in plain English, let Gemini build it, deploy it in seconds, and now give it a real trustworthy name. That is a massive shift in how fast anyone can go from idea to a real working tool online. And And that brings me to the last thing I want to leave you with. SEO isn't just about keywords anymore. It's about every signal that builds trust with both Google and real people. Clean links, fast websites, helpful content, real backlinks from real sites, all of it works together. Tools like this custom URL update are a small piece, but small pieces add up to big trust, and big trust is what actually moves you up the rankings.
