# How to Validate $1K/Day Dropshipping Products Before You Lose Money Testing

## Summary

This video teaches dropshippers how to validate product ideas before wasting money on ads and testing. The speaker shares a three-layer framework — market interest, profitability validation, and community validation — and demonstrates it with real examples, including a viral mini printer that failed and aesthetic grow lights that succeeded. He also walks through using ad spy tools and data signals like 100+ day ad runtimes to confirm sustainable demand.

### Key Points

- **Dropshippers Lose Money Even When They Do Everything Right** [00:02] — Many people find a trending product, build a beautiful store, and run solid ads — yet still lose everything because they validate nothing before spending.
- **It's Not About Viral Products** [00:30] — After wasting money on hundreds of products, the speaker realized the key is finding products people actually buy, not products that go viral.
- **90% of Products Fail** [00:55] — Products fail not because they are bad, but because critical buying-behavior information is missing. Views don't equal sales and engagement doesn't equal profit.
- **Mini Printer: Viral But Not Profitable** [02:15] — A mini printer got 8 million views and 1.4 million likes, but comments were only 'where to buy' with no repeat purchases, no community, and no one showing printed results — pure one-time curiosity buying.
- **Grow Lights: Fewer Views, Real Buyers** [02:58] — Aesthetic grow lights had way fewer views, but commenters had real conversations about usage, asked for plant help, and reviews showed people buying multiple units to solve ongoing problems.
- **The Three-Layer Validation Framework** [04:06] — Every product that made consistent, scalable money passed all three layers: market interest, profitability validation, and community validation. Most people stop at layer 1.
- **Layer 1: Market Interest** [04:20] — This is basic engagement — are people talking about the product, is it trending? Interest does not equal sales; it only gets you in the game.
- **Layer 2: Profitability Validation** [04:45] — Check whether anyone is actually making money selling the product, what real profit margins are, competitor pricing, and whether competitors are spending consistently on ads.
- **Layer 3: Community Validation** [05:10] — The real money lives here. Look for people building collections, sharing results, using insider language, and helping each other. This separates actual customers from curious browsers.
- **Ad Spy Data: Carousel-Heavy Strategy** [07:47] — Using an ad spy tool, the speaker found the grow light brand runs 89% carousel ads, 10% video ads, and 0% image ads, and scaled from 24 ads in April to 70 in July.
- **100+ Day Ad Runtime Is the Strongest Signal** [10:02] — Brands running the same ads for 415 or 382 days are the strongest validation signal: no one keeps an unprofitable ad running that long.
- **Traffic Validation Confirms Demand** [10:44] — The grow light brand received 94,755 website visits in the past month, up 40% from the previous month — real people visiting and clearly buying, not just talking.
- **Find Gaps in Proven Markets** [12:11] — Instead of competing head-on with dominant brands like Sol, look at 2–3 star Amazon reviews to find unmet needs like specific plant types or different aesthetic styles.

### Conclusion

The difference between people losing money and people hitting $1,000+ days isn't luck — it's validation. Run every product through the three-layer framework and use ad data to confirm sustainable demand before spending on tests.

## Transcript

product that had zero chance of working. And I could have told them that in 30 did everything right. They found a trending product. They built a beautiful store. They had solid ads and still lost everything. This used to be me. I'd find
products with millions of views, insane engagement, and think, "This is it." sometimes even more when they didn't sell. Everybody's on TikTok trying to tools to see what's trending. But after wasting money on hundreds of products, I
finally figured out what actually matters. It's not about finding products that go viral. It's about finding products people actually buy. And next few minutes, I'm going to show you what separates the people who are losing
money from ones who are hitting their first $1,000 days. And it's probably not what you think. Look, finding products in 2025 is easier than ever. You open up TikTok, you scroll for 5 minutes, and boom, you've got 10 potential winners.
But here's what nobody tells you. 90% of those products will fail when you bad products, but because you're missing critical information. Most people see viral views and they think this is it. But views don't equal sales. Engagement
does not equal profit. And I learned this the expensive way. My first year drop shipping, I probably tested 20 plus products that looked absolutely amazing on paper. Product after product, failure after failure, thousands gone, weeks
wasted, and I was still exactly where I started in the first place. All because the problem isn't that winning products don't exist. It's that most people can't tell the difference between a product that gets attention and a product that
generates profit. There is a serious gap between what looks good and what actually converts. And that gap is costing people serious money. But here is what changed everything for me. I realized that there were specific signs
that separate the winners from the losers. Signs most drop shippers never even look for. Let me show you exactly what I mean with two real examples. And first example that I want to show you are these mini printers that were
everywhere a few months ago. Maybe you guys have seen them before. Watch this guys have seen them before. Watch this video really quickly.
8 million views. Crazy engagement. It's ridiculous. 1.4 million likes. But if we go into the comment section, all you're going to see is where to buy, where can I get this, where do I get them from, I need this, how much does it cost? Now,
look, there is buying intent, right? We can see where do I buy, where do I get problem. There's nobody that is coming back. If I keep searching, there's not coming back to show what they have printed or talk about what they've
uses. There's nobody building a community around this product. It's literally just one-time curiosity buying. They buy it once, they use it throw it in the drawer. Now, I want you to look at these aesthetic grow lights
right here. Way, way fewer views as you can see here. But if we look into the comments, we can see that people are having real conversations about the the lights on these plants? Every day, a couple hours. I was just I freaking love
the videos. They are such goals. Could you help me with a money tree rescue? So, people are talking about the product. Do succulents need a light? various plants. And then even if we go into the various reviews for this
product, this is the second Aspect Vita LED grow light lamp that I've purchased because it does such a great job keeping my indoor lights thriving. Do you guys aren't just buying once. They're buying multiple units. They are solving ongoing
problems. They're building collections and they're talking about these products community. You can see in the comment section, one product gets impulse buys that end up leading to refunds and the other product it creates repeat
What's the difference? It's understanding the depth of buying behavior, not just the surface. Now, after losing money on too many products that looked really good but didn't sell, I developed what I call the three layer
made me real money, and I mean consistent money over a long period of time, scalable money, has passed all three of these layers. Now, most people, they stop at layer 1. Some people make it to layer two, but almost nobody
where the money is. Layer 1 is market everybody does. Are people talking about the product? Is it trending? Basic engagement metrics. This tells you if
there is actual interest in the market. But the thing is, interest does not equal sales. Remember with that mini printer example that I showed you guys earlier, tons of interest, no repeat buyers, no people coming back, no real
community building. So layer one, it gets you in the game, but it doesn't tell you if you can actually win. Layer two is profitability validation. This is where most people end up stopping. So is anyone actually making money selling
profitable? What are the real profit margins? So this is where you go in and the competitor pricing. See who's spending money on ads consistently? Layer three is community validation. And in my opinion, this is where the real
money lives. So, are people building collections? Are they sharing results? Are they using insider language? Are they helping each other? This is going to tell you if you're looking at actual customers or just curious browsers. So,
products that pass all three of these layers don't just make money, they build sustainable business that will make you money over a long period of time. Now, let me show you exactly how to go about applying this system in practice. All
I've been seeing a ton of these aesthetic grow lights that seem to be everywhere lately. Let me show you guys exactly how I would go about validating whether or not this would be worth testing. So, the first thing, is this a
just look at these comments, the purple light really bothered my wife and myself. The lamp is pretty ugly. Any ideas for not ugly grow lights for my lighting, but it's also ugly. So, it seems like a lot of people obviously
need this kind of product, which is a plant grow light, but they don't like the look or the aesthetic of it. This is not madeup marketing. This is a real pain point that needs to be addressed. Now, do people actually pay to solve
this problem. If we look at this website right here that sells a ton of these plant grow lights, they're selling them anywhere from $89 up to $300 plus. That
is absolutely crazy compared to what you're seeing on Amazon for 20 to $40 for the ugly purple grow lights. But here's where it gets interesting. You can see from the comments, I think the price is worth it. Worth every single
penny. So, a lot of these people, yes, they find it expensive, but they find it worth every single penny. It's worth the money. Regret not getting this sooner. So, they're literally buying multiple units at these crazy premium prices,
$100 plus. So the next thing that we want to do is see if they are running once we go onto their page, we can see that they are creating ads actively. Now the meta ad library, but I personally like to use this tool right here called
metrics that are going to be super necessary and basically knowing if this is going to be a go or a no. So as you can see here, it looks a lot different from the ad library itself. It's like
having the meta ad library but on steroids. It just ends up saving you so out any of the tools that I use, I'll make sure to leave links in the should have a free trial, so I'll leave that below. But anyway, once you're in
Get Hooked, you basically just go into the ad library, copy uh the link to the URL, and then go into spy a new brand, and basically just copy and paste that brand. Press spy. So, as you can see here, we can see the ad format. So,
ads that they are running at the moment. We can see that they're running 0% image ads, 10% video ads, and 89% carousel ads. We can also get an idea as to how throughout the past couple months. So, we can see in April it was 24 to 17 to
June 46. And then this month, July, they're up 70. So, they're definitely scaling their creatives. Here we can see what their mostus hooks are, which is plants happy, thriving, and vibrant. Here, we can see where they're directing
most of their traffic to. 40% is going to be the collections page right here. Now, right here, the 10 top performing ads is something that I always like to better idea as to what their best performers are based on how long these
ads have been running and how many ads are using this creative. So, we can see days. This one's been running for 75 days. So, what's cool is if I go into the details tab right here, it's going to pull up the entire transcript of this
video to which I can use to recreate my own video pulling the winning elements from this video based on what they said within the script itself. I can also download this video and save it to my desktop. All right, so these are the top
performing ads, but we can also go into all the ads to see every single active ad that they're running at the moment. We also have all of these filters that are going to help us with categorizing these ads. But it would be a lot more
useful when you use this for the explore tab if you're just doing, you know, some basic product research. And let's just say, for example, toggle between ads that are only targeting men, a specific age range of 25 to 34, ads that have
spent upwards of 5 to $10,000, and it's going to populate all the ads that have crazy. I haven't seen this on any other platform. And so, back to our example here. So why all of this matters to us? So we can clearly see that they are
running the most amount of ads that they've ran in July this month. Through all their testing, 89% of their creatives consist of carousel ads. So we can use that as inspiration. When we go in, we get an idea of what their best
go into all ads and then we toggle between runtime of, let's just say 100 days plus, we can get an idea of all the ads that they're running that they have been running for over a 100 days. Now, what's great here is that any brand
that's running ads for a consistent amount of time, this is going to be the strongest validation signal possible, right? No one's going to run an ad for right? No one's going to run an ad for 415 days, 382 days if it's not making
the money. So, this means that we have effectively found their winning creatives and we can use this as inspiration and we can iterate off of formula here. But what I'm trying to get at is this is the kind of data that is
going to save you from wasting money on failed tests. We can clearly see that whatever they've done on this ad is working for them because they're consistently running it for 415 days. Now, we can validate that there is clear
buying behavior, but we can even go to the extra extent of validating the pushed over to their website. So, we can see that 94,755 people have visited their website in the past month, and that's up 40% from the
previous month. So, they're definitely getting people onto their store. And then, if we just do the basic industry standard conversion rate times the the estimated amount of money that they're making. So, guys, this isn't
just people talking about wanting aesthetic grow lights. These are thousands of people that are actually visiting and clearly buying these aesthetic grow lights not only on their website but also Amazon as well. Right?
So based on all three layers here, we have a real painoint with multiple forums and community posts about these ugly lights. We have brands that are scaling profitably for months running ads for over a 100 days, some 418 days,
continuous ads. We have an active buying community with growing website traffic. opportunity that I would personally test. The data shows real sustainable demand. Now obviously I wouldn't just try and compete directly with Sol
because they're already you know dominating the aesthetic growite space. But here is what I would do. I would look for gaps that they are not filling. So, I would maybe go into the Amazon reviews and try and find the two and
three star reviews and just see where there is room for improvement. Maybe there is room for improvement. Maybe grow lights for specific plant types or different aesthetic styles that they are not currently covering. That's how you
find your angle in a proved market. But the thing is, it's more like you just get better at spotting patterns over time. It takes time and it takes time. It takes time and it takes practice. Knowing when that 100 day plus
runtime actually means something versus when a brand is just burning VC money. And then that pattern recognition, that is when you stop losing money and you honestly, this whole validation process maybe took me what 10 to 15 minutes, but
in product tests. Now, what I will say is that most people they get stuck with interest. They can see the community signals, but they really struggle with correctly. So, is 30 days of runtime actually good? What about a brand that
has tons of ads, but low engagement? How do you know when a market is saturated nuances, that's where people still lose money, even with the framework. That's my one-on-one mentorship program. Now, we literally validate products together
in real time. We show you what we're seeing in the data that you might be specific signals that separate the winners from the losers because honestly that framework is just the beginning.
recognition and that comes from doing this with someone who's validated products hundreds and hundreds of times. guessing game, click the link below and
fit. All right, so here is your action plan right now. Now, I want you guys to considering. And this could be something that you saw on Tik Tok, could be something that a friend suggested, does not matter. Run it through all three
about what the data tells you. If it passes all three, especially the community validation layer, that is your green light to test. Now, if it fails find something else. And here's what I want to see. Drop a comment with a

the difference between people losing money and people actually hitting $1,000 plus days isn't luck, it's validation. So, stop treating business like a casino and start validating with data and strategy. See you guys in the next one.
