## Transcript

Okay.
We can cater first. Wonderful.
Okay.
Okay.
I was cock-blocked, chap.
Bam! So now it can be picking up everything from that tube.
Double check. There we go. Wonderful, wonderful. Okay. There we go. Wonderful. Wonderful.
Pretty sure that'll catch from there. That's a knot and dowager. Thank you.
How do you still keep all the chickens in their pens? I don't. I just put them in my TED Talk.
Is the doggo okay?
Doggo's great. Doggo is awesome. Thanks for asking.
Oh no, I finally have a stone.
Okay, oh, that is not focused. What about...
Wonderful. Okay, that'll work. Good news. Great.
Thank you.
Oh, hey! Oh, oh, oh, oh, wait a second. Got you back, wait a second.
are good. Alright. I should have been rated by this one, right? Oh, any more stone for this? That's what I'm saying. Um, can you play this game without roving? Uh, you can play this game having a super basic platform thing.
You don't need to build like a giant thing, you know, you don't have to though. We've gotten suspiciously few raids? Dude, I know, it's been very strange.
I agree we've gotten very few raids. I don't know what's going on with that dude. Did we get them every so often? We got one yesterday. And we got two yesterday. I mean it's happening.
Hello? I don't know what's going on. You're getting back to back troll raids?
Sorry. How are we doing here? How do I do it here?
Bro, it takes 60 blood gold to level up to... what? 60? That's two thirds of an entire troll!
Oh my god. And then, and then you're supposed to Gamba that to make it better? Am I understanding that properly? Can you upgrade armor too, or is it just weapons?
Phew, that's... That's just so wild to me. Yeah, I, oh, oh, oh, and I'm on two, wait, is my 2x drop rate affecting the trolls?
So I'm getting about 90 per troll. Do you normally get like 45-ish per troll? Wow.
Those are decisions. That is crazy. That is just... Yeah.
What does Kyo think about the upgrade mechanic? You mean the RNG one? I'm gonna be real. I don't know what the developers were thinking. Like, it feels...
If there was one mechanic I would say does not belong in Valheim, Valheim. It's an RNG item deletion upgrade mechanic. Like, it's just, the whole point
of this game is to slowly farm up your equipment, to spend tons of resources upgrading them. That's the whole point of the game. So to have a mechanic where you can just lose hours,
literal hours of work just because a back-end RNG thing decided to either delete the item or add a few stats, that's, that, I have no idea what the developers
are thinking putting that in the game. Like, I, it feels like they, they had a dartboard of random game mechanics and they just threw the dart and they were like, cool, RNG upgrade, like the Gachi games have, let's do that. Like, it does not make any sense
to me how it's in the game. It's like somebody that never played Valheim was asked to put in an upgrade mechanic and already played with mobile games. I, I, most people say it's done it, well that completely invalidates the point of the system.
That invalidates the mechanic. So it's like, if you're doing that, then I think I get to agree with me in that case. It doesn't even make sense, right? But no, we'll just add that to the list of questionable decisions
by the developers of this game. I just, I don't understand how that happened. I really don't. It seems like such a backwards... It seems like... the weirdest thing is, it makes you realize what the developers are focused on,
and that's just raw time spent playing the game. If you lose, if your upgrade mechanic fails, the only thing it gives you is hours more work in the game to do.
I mean, the game's already, like, people have thousands of hours in the game. Like, that's the mechanic you think belongs in this game? I don't know.
I haven't done it once, and I am, um, I'm not touching it. I'm not touching it. Fan says you're funny, you just take apart these games. Well, it's not taking it apart, it's just commenting on the design.
Like, it's, I think everyone does this, you know, in their own minds, to be honest. I think everyone looks at every mechanic in the game and goes, do I enjoy this? Is this for me?
I just like talking about it. Yeah. You can completely ignore the gamba. That's exactly what I do. I completely ignore the gamba. But the thing that is unfortunate is that I feel like they could have done a much better job designing an upgrade mechanic for this game.
Like, that's all I come back to. is like I'd love to upgrade all of my stuff to plus 10, but not with the mechanics they've offered. So that's all. I'd love for there to be like a more involved, interesting system.
Or better yet, sure, make it RNG, but like maybe don't delete the item if it fails. Like maybe just lose an idol or something. Like I don't know. There's got to be a better way to do this, man.
I don't like just not participating in the mechanics. But that's exactly how I'm going to do it right now, because I don't want to lose hours of work. So, it's weird, man. It's weird.
I don't know. All right, so we need some mooses. Some moose eyes. Some moose feet.
Yeah, see, that'd be cool. like what if what if um what if what if it like it costs an idol and an amount of gold every time you upgraded and but it costs more gold depending on the
level of the item and then if you lose you lose the idol in the goal and then it like damn it still things that fuck you have to go for more gold but you don lose your items Like that a great gold thing right There you go And then gold has a purpose and players are participating in the mechanic
and it doesn't feel like, ah, you lose. I mean, that seems a little bit awesome. But, I mean, that's, you know, that's one of a thousand different things they could do to have. I mean, just having a raw upgrade system would have been nice.
I have no problem farming a shit ton of resources if I can just keep upgrading a thing to 10. Like, whatever. That's fine. It's a farming game. That's what it means. But yeah, I still feel weird. Like, in a farming game, you want to feel like you're making progress all the time.
That's what the good feels, right? You're farming. You're growing. You're constantly building on the time of God. And I feel like still needing hours and days of progress. Right. Not the way to do that. Time's a hydration.
It kind of goes against why we play the game. For me, again, for me. All for me. But, yeah. Do I want to try this box now? We could do, we could do, you know, I think we'll give it a try.
I'm going to give it a try, and we're going to see how it goes. We're going to see how it goes. There's not too much else I want to do here, so. The only thing that I think I do want to maybe...
Banana Colada would be 13-month Banana Colada. I think the words we are looking for here is VS Mechanics. Oh, for the RNG upgrade? Yeah, it's not even bullshit. It's just weird.
It's just weird. It feels like it's not for Valheim. It just feels like a mechanic that's not for Valheim. That's all. It feels like a mechanic for a different kind of game. That's the only thing I kind of see coming back.
It's not Viking Corps. There we go. Here's your homey for such a mechanic should never exist in any game. Well, I mean, it wouldn't go that far. If it's easy to get the items you're losing, then it's not a big deal if you lose them.
I mean, that's fine. I think the issue here is that the items you lose can be, I said hours of work, people in chat were saying days of work. You know, if you're not doing, you don't have 2x drop rate on, if it's like a rare material
and you don't have more access to it, like, you lose something that has a huge amount of iron in it and you don't have any swamps of iron left, that could be days of farming to get that back. Little days.
Like, of finding a swamp and then setting up the network and pulling all the stuff out of it. Like, if you're playing the game how the developers do in 10 with Portal turned off and stuff. So, I don't know. It's just...
I just keep coming back to it just being... Maybe they need some balancing. I do think it might be fine if they just balance it a bit. If the items didn't delete, I'd probably be using it myself.
So, you know. But if it only... Now, listen to this. I would absolutely be using this mechanic if the only thing we lost was the item.
And considering the idols apparently are limited per world, you can only get so many idols per world, it does seem like it'd be fine to lose only them for the fans. You know what I mean?
because I mean that's an item you can never get back. So, I mean if it did that, I'd probably think the mechanic is fine. But I say that, but then again if it really is RNG and the
idols really are limited, that means theoretically you could get every idol in the game and never upgrade a piece of equipment once. And I don't think that'd be possible. I'm sure there's some RNG stuff in the background because that sounds hilarious saying it out loud. But yeah,
I'm guessing that wouldn't be a thing, but... It's like pay-to-win gamma game stuff. Well, you gotta be careful. It is similar to stuff that those games use,
but, I mean, pay-to-win and gotcha have connotations that Valheim has not even anywhere remotely near, so I don't think you should even use those terms around it. The mechanic itself is in those games, but it's not implemented in any similar way.
Oh, I need my boss money. I went to get my cloak and I forgot my boss done and stuff and for the record it is also important to mention I'm not using the mechanic and it's been fine
so and I saw some people in chat saying how can they have a required mechanic do that to be clear it is not required to do the mechanic I am I have less power but it's not required
you don't have to yeah you can upgrade everything to like three or four and it's fine I'm sorry if there was any confusion there. I saw some people in chat being like, why would they make you do that?
They don't make you do that. It's awesome. It's awesome. I think it was their kind of like a temp at an end game, like an end game.
I think in their minds, they were like, this is Valheim's end game. Okay. Is this the time at the forge? Yeah. Yeah, the Forge of Potential. The Forge of Potential!
What kind of payoff do we get if it's a successful craft? Oh, it levels up the item. So the mechanic, see how there's like that little number to the right? The RNG mechanic can rank it I think all the way up to like plus 10. Why is Co trying so hard to
justify the awesome mechanic? I'm not justifying anything. I'm looking at it from different perspectives and talking about the various different things associated with it. I think I've made my opinion very clear, but that doesn't mean we don't have to look at it via
everyone else's perspective, right? Justify Dean's nuts?
Okay. Using any mods this run? I am. I'm using some QL mods and they are great. Strongly recommend.
Ko, you're far too reasonable for the internet? The internet really dislikes me in general and it's because the internet is fully convinced that I am milquetoast
and always going to say whatever the general opinion is. And the reason they're right is because I'm always going to take the general opinion
as a perspective in making my opinion. And a lot of times, my opinion lines up with the general opinion. But I like to think that it does that because I try to look at everything from all sides as much as I can.
So, like, it's, that's just how it is, I guess. And I'm not going to stop doing that, so. But, yeah, man, it's just, I don't really have, like,
I don't tend to lean any direction too hard. Because most of the time, leaning any direction too hard is wrong. That's what I've found in my 40 years in the planet.
it's just wrong. Most of the time leaning too far in one direction means you're not paying attention to the actual arguments or opinions of what it's not.
And that's the thing. But then people love opinion validation. They love having strong opinions and then they love finding people that echo their strong opinions. So considering I don't really have a lot of strong opinions,
at least in that regard, I have strong opinions but not like left and right kind of general. But, yeah.
Hey. Here we go. Oh.
Oh. Tom Thimblebringer going to death
This is a multi-phase fight, isn't it?
Yeah, that's right. Oh, shit. Oh, that's not good.
Thank you.
What the hell is it?
Oh, it's the first dude. What? Oh, that's fun. I care. Oh, my God. This is not a minifighter.
There's no way you're gonna rematch every boss! Oh my god. Oh it's both!
Wait, I can tell!
I gotta admit man, this is a... Oh, dude. I can only imagine the people that had, like, the full world. Oh, shit. Fire. The fire got me.
Fire got me. I can only imagine people that, like, got to this point after sitting on their worlds for years, waiting for 1.0. And then they get to the final boss. And they get to, like, see all the bosses they haven't fought for years again.
That's actually pretty great. I like that. So it's busy app instead of fighting? Yeah. Hey, I'm just, this is, this is a fun fight dude. I like this one.
Hmm, uh, hmm. We should probably make a little bit of a tire, tire clean here. Um,
this might, we may have just begun a cacophony earlier in terms of me trying to get this, uh, I mean, I have no idea how these devs currently have it, so our corpse is going to be retrievable in this area, but I am not expecting much.
I'm not expecting much, that's for sure. Oh, man. Alright, let's get our Rector buff. Get our heals up real quick.
Did I have my... Did I have my feather cloak on? No, I didn't. So we were just taking that much damage from standard fire damage?
We were chunking down, dude. We were chunking. Like, I tried to pop on a resist pot, but I still felt like we were done. We were done.
It cool to fight all the bosses again but also kind of lazy Yeah I mean Yeah you not wrong but I also think it fun that they did it
Because you have to... Valheim's kind of a unique beast. You gotta remember, a lot of the people playing it, you know, had not been playing it for a very long time. Oh god, this is no battle.
Can I just leave? Oh hell yeah, thank you.
Oh dude, they're both here. I didn't even see Modare being hit. Didn't even see Modare.
And thank God we prepared. I love how much we're hitting for. Oh my God. Oh, I really don't want that.
It is hard to get close to this.
So, may I have a pair of gloves? Oh, you got tentacles? Oh, God!
Oh, God! Little bugger.
Thank you.
Is he healing?
Is he healing? Is he healing when he hits me? How is he doing?
What's going on? Oh God, are you being moved from your doomsday?
Thank you.
Wait, wait, wait, what?
What was that? The hell? Uh...
Bro, I don't even know. Yeah, whenever he raises up, he does like a random move, it looks like.
Damn!
Man. Like, five of whatever those things were hit me on my back. That was rough. Oh, man.
Almost there. Hey, man, we're done. This has been a fine fight, dude. No, no. This has been fine. Like, to be honest, like, all the hits I felt like were my fault. Like, you know, we're learning to fight and stuff.
Like, no. This is fine. Goodie. At least your organs will stay cold in the frozen north. That's true. Those are Modere meteors? I thought they were Yagloth meteors or the Ash guy.
But they seem to be like almost bobbling. They look like they're cylindrical? I don't know. Oh, they are new. Okay. Yeah, the projectile itself looks a little different than I'm used to.
They're co-meteors. Oh. Have you tried any of the latest abiotic factor updates? No, not yet. Not since they put us in the game, which I'm thrilled about. It was super cool then. For those who don't know, by the way, you can find the Coalition ID card in abiotic factor now.
You can actually wear it on your desk. It's amazing. It is so cool. It is so cool. Uh oh. Now.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to going back and playing more when we do the DLC eventually. KDB, that's right. Yep. Okay, so we're going to try to just kind of run in, get our gear and run out.
It worked surprisingly well last time. I hope it works as well this time, but we'll see. Hey, don't mind me. I'm just grabbing my phone. I left my cell phone.
I'm just grabbing it. Have a good day. See ya. Hey, you can't do that! You can't summon yourself out of the arena!
Wait a second! No! Dev! Dev! Dev, you're cheating! Someone tell Dev this is unacceptable. Okay.
I didn't get to put on my stuff. That was fun.
Okay. Let's do... Boom. Good Bob! They're cheating again! Mommy can't do that! Mommy, do the move that we did.
It's illegal. Mommy, do the legal move. Oh God. Oh God.
Okay, that's the root I'm guessing?
Oh, that was it. That was the move. I think it just dodged it. Oh God. Okay, that's the root.
He's so wispy in there too.
Oh, the dodge. There it is. Oh, God. Nope.
Dang it, slow chat. No green, no green. No green.
Ah! Ah!
Yeah! Come on, did you please? We're done.
Valheim 1.0 is done. Wait, that thing not yet. Hold on. Wait, is there more?
The Crown of Valheim. Oh, my. We gotta go with the Crown of Valheim. Oh, my God, dude. That was so good. That was... Oh, my God, it's sweet.
Whoa, wait a second. Why is this back here? Oh, can we summon the boss again?
The rematch bolt. Dude, that was so good. Well done, warrior. You found the sacrificial blood, the final key to restoring this realm.
Now the Allfather has one last task for you. Prove yourself worthy by journeying back to where it all began. One last ride.
Really? Really? Okay. You going to carry it back? That's good. You can TP with the jewel?
Oh wait, this is a bug? Hold on. Wait, wait, wait. People are chatter saying what wrong with Ko game I was able to teleport mine You know what You know what I get the campus bug that We gonna take this crazy other ride I don even care Is my boat actually down here
It's over here. This game deserves one more ride. Are we taking the scenic route?
We are. We didn't take the scenic route back. Oh no. Quick, find the case.
Through the snow, you see our boyo.
Oh my god, where are we going? Dare. Oh yeah, let's go. We're so far away there, chat.
Man, with all its flaws, it still is such a fun game! It's such a fun game! Oh man, I'm actually like really sad. It's crazy to think like
the Deep Alkaid, this has been one of those games that's just kind of been there for years. A lot of the things we beat. Or maybe this isn't... It's been really really fun.
What are the game's flaws? Nothing, they're exactly perfect. Yeah. I'm not even going to get into it right now.
I the flaws of this game are subjective and ones that oh my god you're kidding
it's kind of like in the very eye of the beholder yeah so and some people love this game for it So, yeah.
For that, I mean, for me it was more of a QL thing, a looseness thing. I'm not gonna guess. I'm just personally interested. Oh, Lord.
This looks to be a big mess right now. Um... Yeah, Coast Sailing went up the motor buff. Yeah!
Probably would have been nice to grab that for our last boat ride.
The second the wind stops, I feel like this Texan is going to destroy this boat.
But I really don't want to land at this landing area. So I'm very conflicted right now. I'm very conflicted. Uh, Max?
Thanks to Code Climate for planning this all the way through for those of us who just don't have the time. But, appreciate you all in this community. Dude, it is my pleasure. And I want to thank you guys. Like, I, it's, the, a big thing this run for me has been, you know, there's, there's a lot going on in, in my world right now.
There's, there's a whole bunch of stuff. I, I definitely got, you know, a bit frustrated with parts of this game. but I just appreciate, you know, so many of you were so chill about it and didn't give me any guff for it and just kind of enjoyed the ride
and took it for what it was. And I can't tell you how much I appreciate you people. We all have bad days, even me. Sometimes I have a bunch in a row. Sometimes it's during my favorite game or one of my favorite games, Stalheim, right?
But when stuff like that gets stressful, when things are frustrating me, it is, and this goes I think for like most people, but it's so nice to have people
that just kind of listen and are just like, oh that's cool like do what you need to do to have fun, instead of like there were so many people that unfortunately were telling me that I was playing the game wrong
I shouldn't be playing it, this is, Ko is so stressed, this is the worst playthrough I've seen from him, blah blah blah, and it's like man, I, it just that's just, it's just the worst. I can't even tell you. It's just the worst
reading that. When you're already stressed, when you're already frustrated to have that kind of stuff piled on top of it, it's just the worst. And although that absolutely happened this playthrough, the overwhelming majority was super chill. And I really, really appreciate it.
So, if you were one of those people, just thank you very much. It is very nice these days to just have folks that just appreciate what we do and don't feel the need to kind of micromanage it.
So, thank you. Thank you. And again, I really do appreciate that. It's a long way with me. I say all the time, if you don't like what we're doing, just leave. But some people just want to stick around
and make sure I know how unhappy they are. and I can't really do much alone unfortunately
everyone likes yes men not really what I was saying if that's what you said for me I clearly didn't say that properly but not what I meant by that really
okay Oh Oh nice Wow
raw okay is it still following us? how did we get away from it? they must have gotten stuck on something Maybe a MIS-PLAN's gonna be attacked. I don't know how that works.
I don't know what their tactics are for MIS-PLANs really. Man, did we luck out though! The wind just died on us. That would have been super unfortunate if we were falling in.
We could still do some, we got plenty of open ocean here. Stay in the confluence. What about backstating in the game, in this run?
It was, dude, backstating in this run was great. I somehow didn't have, like, some pretty major stuff to work for me. I really appreciate that. I didn't even know the last boss summoned the other bosses.
Like, that's awesome. I love the fact that I can have almost 8,000 people watching. No one feels the need to ruin that for me. You know, it's great. So, no, the backseating for this run is just phenomenal.
Am I going to do a final thought soon in this game? No. No, I don't think so.
I think, honestly, I kind of said my piece on everything, and I don't really need to say more. No. I don't. It's been a very long playthrough, so. Oh.
It does. A lot of them playing this run. Man, I think over almost 70 hours.
Somebody said, what are his actual thoughts? I haven't seen this before. My actual thoughts on this, a very brief TLDR is, Valheim offers immersive experiences in a way that no other sandbox game does.
But it's relatively brutal take on respecting your time and QOLs is going to chase some away without mine.
I think that some people will enjoy the tedium and they'll like it, but I think the majority of players are used to what many other games of the Shrike are offering these days and
they feel that it's lacking with it not being in here. So I think this game is something special. I think that there's parts of this game that offer experiences that I've never experienced. No other survival game really nails immersion like Valorant.
It's got something special about it. But there's other parts of the game that are like, I would argue, the least developed or worst of survival games.
So it's a very mixed bag for many of us. But it, it, but again, it offers things that no other game does.
And that, and I, and I, anytime I talk about the bad stuff about Valheim, I feel like I need to end with that. Because the point that I'm trying to make is, for me, there were good reasons suffering through every issue that I had with this game to get to the good stuff.
And I'm glad that I did. So even though there's parts of this game that I just simply don't like, or I don't agree with the design, The good parts are so good that I would gladly get through that stuff to get to the good parts.
And I am so glad we finished this game. It was, um, yeah. And that kind of got behind the nutshell for me. The good part is great. And the bad parts for me were mostly fixable with mods, actually.
But there are some baked in issues like with the losers in combat and stuff that I don't really get to mod it. But, yeah. If you like survival sandbox games, it's definitely worth a watch. No question.
Johnny said, shout out to Azumat. Yeah, dude, shout out to Azumat's mods. Azumat was awesome. His mods, in a lot of ways, kind of write. They dramatically improve my enjoyment of
Yep, dramatic. Yep, yep, yep. I can get back to the parts I like quicker.
No question. Charlie Russo says, hello have a nice day. Oh hello to you too, friend. Have a nice day to you too.
Will Coby do a Valheim mod recommendations video?
No, because the only mods I use are in the mods command. So, if you want my opinion on mods, use the mods in that list, Because they're the only ones I know about.
That's kind of where we are with that. I don't really have a lot of other mods to recommend. I will say this, though. If you are interested in modding, and I should have said this earlier as well,
Valheim is one of the most modded games out there, I would argue. Like, this game has a slew of very well-made mods, and it has a verbose, large community
that is still modding it to this day. So if you are a modder, I don't know if it compares to like Skyrim. I think Skyrim is the gold standard of modded games. But in terms of games that are like, you know,
five-ish years old, five, six years old, I would argue this one probably has more mods than that. Yeah. Absolutely. Mm-hmm. Not counting Minecraft and all that stuff.
But there's some, there's amazing ones.
