[00:04] Even more bad news. And trust me, there's even more bad news after that. ABOUT some good news for a change. I'm going to talk about what's going on with DL site. And I'll save all that bad stuff for tomorrow because honestly, [00:18] this is a pretty big update. It honestly showcases that despite all the negativity that we see all the time, there is some positives and there actually is people within Japan fighting back against censorship. So, let me give [00:32] a brief rundown for those that are unaware of what DL site is and why this is so significant and why I think that this kind of overgoes or overcomes all the negativity that I've seen from today. So first off, Vlite is one of the [00:45] sites within Japan that has been hit by payment processors like Visa, Mastercard, and even bank processing. They have been heavily hit and pretty much the actual payment processors gave them two options. Censor yourself or [00:59] die. That's pretty much what uh payment processor said. The DL site and various other sites in Japan. However, DL site decided to choose a secret third option. [01:11] That secret third option was basically saying, you know what, screw you payment card companies and stuff trying to literally put a rope around our neck. We are going to go another option, completely circumvent around you and [01:24] create our own form of payment processing that is not even going to touch you and make a partnership with a completely different way of making payments. And that's exactly what DL site has done. setting up an [01:36] infrastructure for basically other sites that are targeted very similar to DL sites can also follow their lead and do exactly what they have done. So in terms of like actual good news, this is probably the best news that you actually [01:51] could hear because this means that actively Japan these sites that have been heavily censored aren't under attack, games under attack, they are fighting back and that is glorious news. So, what exactly in the nitty-gritty are [02:07] they doing? So, let's read the headline first. So, DL's DL sites direct payment alternative sees steady adoption following international credit card suspensions. Monthly transactions now exceed over $630,000. [02:21] Vivium, the company running major Japanese digital content platform, the Elsite, recently announced that its uh payment service Mina uh Mina Genko payment has surpassed over 100 million yen, around 630,000 USD in monthly [02:37] TRANSACTION VOLUME. THAT'S PRETTY BIG. NOW, launched in October 2025. Basically, it's now been a full year now since they launched it as a joint effort between Vivion and the digital only domestic bank Mina Noko. The payment [02:51] service allows users to make instant and direct payments to DL site. All users need are a Vivian ID, previously known as DLite account, and a Mina Noko bank account, thus bypassing the need for intermediates, aka payment processors, [03:06] and different banks that uh basically want to tell DLite they need to die as a site. Anyways, um, continuing to read, the payment service was launched in the wake of major multiple major credit card brands becoming unavailable on DL site [03:18] due to adult content, that icky fictional content. For clarification, We're not just talking about that lolly stuff. We're talking about hypnosis. We're talking about grapes. We're we're talking about anything that is icky. You [03:31] know, we've also seen basically how uh Europe and the UK is trying to outlaw literally choking in fictional media. So obviously it's probably that those tags as well, but more or less any like uh like icky tags were uh too much and [03:45] rid of this stuff, you're going to die or we're going to make sure you die as a company. That's that's basically what they said. Anyways, uh continuing to read, due to adult content hosted on the platform in 2024, DL Site publicly [03:58] announced it would temporarily disable Visa, Mastercard, and American Express payments. And to this day, the domestic JCB is the only credit card brand supported on the site. Prior to suspending transactions through [04:11] international credit card brands, DLC attempted to reclassify or rename certain tags related to adult content deemed problematic, such as loy or hypnosis tropes. But these efforts ultimately proved futile. Basically, it [04:26] was enough after they tried to get rid of it and reclassify and everything. It processors and they wanted more censorship. That's what they wanted. So, anyways, Mina Noko payment is now one year old and according to Vivion, the [04:40] service has seen steady adoption. It attracted 10,000 users within just 3 weeks following the launch and the volume of DLS site transactions has now volume of DLS site transactions has now exceeded 100 million yen per month. So, [04:52] uh that is uh basically the news story. Now to kind of summarize this, compress this into a very easy to understand soup, pretty much deals site has completely circumvented the foreign like [05:06] American Express that has tried to censor them. They completely circumvented them and now they're doing their own thing. And this lays down the very foundation blocks for pretty much anybody within Japan that is getting hit [05:18] by these payment processors to follow in line and do the exact same thing. probably make a partnership with Mina Noko and uh do the same thing because clearly this is being adopted. The situation around censorship and payment [05:32] becoming more and more normalized in terms of people becoming aware of it and their censorship. We see a lot of Japanese games or Asian games in general targeted on Steam as well. So this it's only a matter of time until we see more [05:48] companies and sites adopt this type of method that DL site is doing. And in managed to do to themselves is kind of shoot themselves in their own foot because they have brought awareness to just how puritan they try to be. And [06:01] can't spend your money on legal merchandise and because they're too puritan for it. They they get in the way of you actually using your own money which has pissed a lot of people off and for very good reason. So yeah, this is [06:15] this is great news. Like overall there's nothing negative about this. This can only lead to good news. The only well there's only one negative. The one negative is that if you are in a different country, you can't use it. [06:29] Basically, if you're not Japanese, you can't use it, which okay, you know, that's the consequences. But you got to love how Visa and Mastercard have screwed it up for everybody because they had to attack DL site. But besides that, [06:42] this is still good news. I'm very happy to see their site being successful. they are making money and it showcases that they don't need to bow down and bend the knee. They need to stand strong and fight. Hopefully, we get to see other [06:55] companies follow suit and even contact DLite to do the exact same method. I would love to see that. But I guess I will leave it at that.
