[00:02] lot of different anime episodes are releasing weeks in advance. And this is an issue that's been happening since this anime season started. And it's been prior to that, but it's really started to escalate in the last few weeks. And [00:14] more or less, the culprit is not Crunch for a change, but Bandai Namco. They for a change, but Bandai Namco. They have been revealed to have zero security protections. They straight up are basically allowing people to get onto [00:29] their site, access these episodes with free tools you can download on Google, and download different anime episodes for free. Episodes that are not even released in Japan yet. What do you mean? [00:42] WHAT HOW DOES this happen? How does this even happen? Like, what do you what do you mean that you are going to be antipiriracy? You're going to be upset to be upset with people pirating manga. And you're going to put next to zero [00:57] protections on your site. What do you mean? What do you mean, bro? [laughter] LIKE, BRO, WHAT? LIKE, THAT THIS IS INSANE. This is actually just so insane. So, I got some breaking news. As you can see, this is fresh off the press. I was [01:13] about this. It's like my credible source literally told me just a few hours ago ahead to talk about this because obviously this needs to be talked about. [01:25] A spotlight needs to be put on this because this is a very very bad situation that really needs to not just highlight how these episodes are releasing early but also force Bandai Namco and these other Japanese sites and [01:40] American sites any site honestly to if you're going to complain about piracy if you're going to be antipiriracy and you're going to hammer down and make sure that piracy is viewed worse than basically murder within Japan you're [01:53] going to PUT AT THE BARE BARE MINIMUM protections on your on your content that you are trying to protect from piracy. It's also to this situation, but earlier this [02:06] month, a 15-year-old Japanese student actually was able to pull off a major cyber security attack against Bandai Namco using a chat GBT to build a program that literally canled 46K plus subscriptions. So, it's very clear that [02:20] subscriptions. So, it's very clear that Bandai Namco puts next to zero security on their actual sites and platforms that they monitor if something like this can happen to 46,000 people. So, it just this entire situation really shows that [02:34] this company, they do not protect any of their stuff. They probably don't protect any of your information and most likely people's like credit cards and debit cards or whatever are potentially at risk because of this company having zero [02:46] happened literally within the same month, two different times with two different examples is not a good look. Like Bandai Namco, you cannot be screaming against piracy, you hate piracy, when you don't even protect your [03:00] own loot. You're not protecting your own goods. You are allowing people to just walk in basically into your store and steal everything in front of you. You have ZERO SECURITY. OH YEAH, YOU'RE in a very crowded location with a high crime [03:14] rate. Okay. and you have no bodyguards, no security, no cameras, obviously what? What do you mean? You're a number on your company and you're telling me you can't put bare minimum [03:30] telling me you can't put bare minimum cyber security on your sites? Shameful. Absolutely shameful. Now, here's the thing. It is crazy that this isn't crunchable. I honestly when this was first happening [03:43] when I was seeing these episodes leak I thought this was Crunch Roll's doing and assumed all this was happening because of Crunch Roll because Crunch Roll was typically do and you know as much as like reing Crunch Roll and making fun of [03:58] them and calling them a company. This is not their fault this time. This is actually completely not their fault. They are completely innocent here. And you know, from my uh potential thoughts that they were responsible for this, you [04:10] apology. Yeah, that's a rare one, but I'll offer you an apology because this was not your fault whatsoever. However, your recent moves with like for instance the digital store and the phasing out of [04:23] yourself with that one and especially all the other stuff you've been doing. But no, Crunch is not responsible for this situation. For those that are assuming, no, this is strictly Band Na Nonko and Beichi. Basically, a Japanese [04:38] site that's owned by Band Naio, the people that were pretty much in charge eventually will ruin One Punch Man season 4. So, look forward to that one. But, um, back into the point. Okay, this situation is actually not something that [04:52] has just happened with Bandai. This is something that has happened in the past. It's actually something that has happened in the anime community. In fact, Funimation, this is a very similar situation to what Funimation went [05:07] through years ago before they were consumed into Crunchyroll and devoured and died as a company. Funimation had this exact same issue where people were able to access their sites and they were able to get a hold of episodes early. [05:23] So an issue, an inherent vulnerability, a security flaw that has been known about for decades is still happening in the same area, the same industry. What do you mean? What do you mean this [05:38] What do you mean? What do you mean this is still happening in the same industry? Like I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I'm going to say this again. These companies like Bandai, Shuisha, [05:50] you whatever they they cannot be screaming like we hate piracy when you have next to zero security on your stuff like [06:02] like like what do you mean like you can't you protect your stuff better? Like it it's actually insane. Now, anyways, the credible source that told me about this entire situation, more or less, from [06:17] what I gather from everything he was willing to tell me is that this all started from an apparent like German hacker. This was a German hacker that started basically accessing this site, being very malicious with it, and [06:29] basically not doing it in a way of like, oh, I want to preserve certain content because you can't find it anywhere legally or you uh someone that says, you person that is accessing the site and starting to post this stuff early [06:43] that is someone that fundamentally just wants to tear down the anime industry. They are very malicious. They're a parasite. They do not want any boon for anime and manga culture. They want to rip it apart. And so, this entire [06:57] situation is very fundamentally different than the very like standard piracy stuff that I talk about because I I'm gonna say this. I' I've talked about it a lot and I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I am someone that is not [07:11] antipiriracy. I am actually kind of in a way pro piracy. I think that if you can look and watch and read things legally, you should. You 100% should. But you can't expect people to go legal routes when your service is so dog Crunch [07:24] roll looking at you. And so the point here is is that piracy is a service issue pretty much 99% of the time. This is that 1% of the time where this piracy is the very thing that these Japanese companies and different like companies [07:39] and governments even should hammer down on. This is the real malicious stuff. This is the real malicious stuff that's going on that is really causing the damage. This is it's not a few people, you know, trying to preserve anime that [07:52] you can't find legally anymore online and all that. This is the real problem. And so hopefully they take this seriously and they fix this. Which that gets to the next point. So from my understanding, my credible source told [08:04] me that they tried to get in touch with um basically Bandai Namco and Beichi and to happen, how this was going to happen, and gave them the rundown of how this was happening. But Beichi and Bandai Namco basically didn't take it too [08:19] seriously. They didn't care. And this has now continued to happen to where the full episode for instance of episode 4ensei has released 4 days early. It Reddit. I saw it. I was like what the hell? And I saw people talking about it [08:33] on Twitter. I was just like okay. So anyways, the the point here is is that at the time a few hours ago when my credible source contacted me about this, Bandai Namcoichi have not implemented any form of protections, security [08:47] measures or anything to stop this from happening. From my knowledge, basically this could still happen. Now obviously after I upload this video and bring a little bit more awareness and attention to it, that probably will change real [08:59] relatively quickly. Good. But I just I this is an insane thing. Like what do you mean? You just gonna have download free tools, random tools online and just like what what you don't have to be hacker mans. You don't have to be a [09:14] super hacker. You just you get on the site, you have the tools, you find the ID, you click it, you download. Like obviously simplifying it a lot, but it's just bro that's so crazy. Like [09:28] I will leave it at that. I I I wanted to talk about the situation because this is not something that you see every day and it's not every day that it's a company that is not crunch roll causing leaks. It's an official Japanese company having [09:41] that. If you enjoy my content, you know, please subscribe, leave a like. It does help me out a lot and I would greatly appreciate it. She be outs.
