[0:00] Hello there and welcome back to another [0:01] video. Today we're going to talk about [0:04] showdowns, which is the name that [0:05] they're using for the two new mini zones [0:07] of patch 1207 for Val and Neatol. Uh in [0:12] this video, we're going to go through [0:13] everything that you need to know about [0:14] these zones, what they look like, what [0:16] do you do there, what are the rewards, [0:18] all that good stuff. But before we jump [0:20] into that, I do want to let you know [0:21] that I am streaming on twitch.tv/mrgm. [0:24] If you want to see me stream World of [0:24] Warcraft midnight 1207 ptr 121 ptr, I'm [0:28] over on twitch.tv/ TV/MGM. [0:30] Right, so showdowns. Showdowns are an [0:32] extension of the void assault system [0:34] from 1205, and they have come in the [0:37] form of two new mini zones called Val [0:39] and Neatol. These might be recognizable [0:42] names to you cuz these two zone [0:43] locations were previously used in the [0:46] Argust invasion point system, but they [0:48] have been extended and changed to be [0:50] adapted into void invasions. But they [0:52] are still the same locations, though. [0:54] They're not pretending it's somewhere [0:55] new. So, you are going back to these [0:57] locations that were previously inhabited [0:59] by the Legion. Let's talk a little bit [1:01] more about the zones and how they kind [1:03] of work. So, to enter the zones, you [1:05] unlock them through a fairly short quest [1:07] line, which will be available at the [1:08] start of 1207. And once that's complete, [1:10] your ults will be able to skip straight [1:12] to the zone. The entrance to the zones [1:14] is located in the voidtorm in the [1:16] Howling Ridge or in Silver Moon by the [1:19] void assault area. And these zones do [1:22] rotate weekly, so only one zone will be [1:24] up at any given time. Now, if you ever [1:26] want to check out the maps for the [1:28] zones, they are just attached to the [1:29] voidtorm map. So, similar to like the [1:31] siren aisle and things like that, we've [1:32] had it in the past. These zones are [1:34] primarily designed for level 90s, but [1:36] you can come here on a level 80 to 90 to [1:39] level. The zone does reward XP through [1:41] world quests and bonus objectives and [1:42] rares and things like that. So, it could [1:44] potentially be a unique way to level. [1:46] Now, Val is an icy world once inhabited [1:49] by the Legion and is now where a [1:51] powerful Dominar has established his [1:53] bastion of power. Negat is a fungal [1:56] arcane rich world now occupied by the [1:58] insidious ethereal faction known as the [2:02] Halh had. Now, when entering these [2:04] zones, they do use the delve and ritual [2:06] site UI. And this is where you choose [2:08] whether you want to enter it on normal [2:09] world tier or heroic world tier. More on [2:12] that in a bit. So, let's talk about what [2:15] is going on in these zones. What are you [2:16] actually up to? So, these zones do have [2:19] quests. Each zone will have a selection [2:21] of one-time quests. There'll be three [2:22] main quest lines in each of the zones [2:24] and then seven side quest lines between [2:27] both of the zones. The side quest lines [2:29] are a combination of new story beats as [2:31] well as just setting up things in the [2:32] zone and teaching you about different [2:34] zonewide systems like setting up the [2:37] different flight path teleporters, [2:38] acquiring a new toy called the light [2:40] veil recall beacon. This is kind of a [2:43] flight master's whistle of sorts which [2:44] will port you back to the base camp with [2:46] a 15-minute cool down and it will also [2:48] direct you to a vendor where you can [2:50] purchase zone specific flasks and buffs [2:53] which can help you out in the zone. Now [2:55] each zone will have a bunch of rares [2:57] with 10 rares in Val and eight in natol [3:01] as well as world quests. There'll be 14 [3:03] unique world quests in Val and 11 in [3:05] negat as well. So tons of different [3:07] world quests and res to do. Alongside [3:09] that there will be some bonus [3:10] objectives. The zones are covered in [3:12] treasures and each of the zones will [3:14] have a world boss you can kill once per [3:16] week. So, I mentioned it earlier, world [3:18] tiers. Yes, there will be two different [3:20] world tiers for the zones, a normal [3:23] world tier and a heroic world tier. [3:25] There was data to suggest a mythic world [3:26] tier, but it doesn't look like we're [3:28] getting that. So, normal world tier, the [3:30] recommended item level is 219, and this [3:32] is a pretty standard difficulty for most [3:34] players. When doing the activities in [3:36] the zone, these will reward field [3:37] accolades. void light maul coff shards. [3:40] You also get one out of six warbound [3:42] champion gear from the rares in the zone [3:44] and champion crests as well as a [3:47] warbound champion piece from the world [3:49] boss. So for heroic world tier, this is [3:51] actually unlocked by killing one of the [3:53] world bosses in any of the two zones. Uh [3:55] and this will unlock it for both of the [3:57] zones. So obviously when it launches, [3:58] just go in there, kill the world boss, [4:00] and that will unlock heroic world tier. [4:02] Now I find heroic world tier to be [4:03] pretty difficult on your own. The [4:04] recommended item level for heroic world [4:06] tier is 274, which yeah, is pretty high. [4:10] Now, when you're in heroic world tier, [4:11] this will contain different affixes. [4:13] Creatures will spawn with additional [4:14] abilities. There'll be more elite [4:16] creatures around the zone, and you'll [4:18] get random ambushes similar to prey or [4:20] delves, but yeah, these are a lot harder [4:23] and don't actually reward anything, so [4:24] keep an eye out for those. Now, [4:26] obviously, more difficulty, more [4:27] rewards, so you're going to get tons [4:29] more field accolades. Unfortunately, [4:31] there is no increase to void light mal [4:33] in heroic world tier, which is a shame [4:35] because once again, you will be needing [4:37] a lot of this for the rewards. You are [4:39] going to get more coffee shards. You're [4:41] also going to get four out of six [4:42] warbound champion gear from the rares in [4:44] heroic world tier. These rares will also [4:46] drop hero crest and you will get a [4:48] warbound hero piece from the world boss [4:51] as well. Both of the world tiers do [4:53] share world quests and bonus objectives, [4:55] so if you do complete them on normal, [4:57] they won't be there on heroic. So, make [4:59] sure you're keeping that in mind. The [5:00] difficulty of heroic multi is pretty [5:02] tough and personally I don't see the [5:04] point of the rewards with the increased [5:05] difficulty beyond doing achievements and [5:08] maybe some hero crest. But maybe people [5:10] will find it fun. I think as well [5:11] obviously testing on PTR being pretty [5:13] much on my own the whole time did make [5:15] it extremely hard. So, obviously once [5:17] this launches there's going to be a ton [5:18] of people around and maybe that will [5:20] make the difficulty a little bit more [5:21] manageable. So, yeah, really it's up to [5:23] you whether or not you want to play in [5:24] normal or heroic world tier. but it's [5:26] nice to see it coming in as an option. [5:28] So, let's talk about the rewards. These [5:30] zones have a myriad of rewards, ranging [5:33] from power to cosmetics. There are tons [5:35] of cosmetics for you to collect here. [5:37] So, let's start with the weekly quest. [5:39] These zones will feature a weekly quest. [5:41] Now, there is one for each tier of [5:42] difficulty, but if you do choose to do [5:44] the heroic world tier one without doing [5:46] the normal one, you'll actually get the [5:48] normal tier rewards from your heroic [5:50] cash, so you don't have to do it twice. [5:51] Now, the normal weekly quest rewards [5:53] gold, 15 hero dawn crest, 200 void light [5:56] m, 75 field accolades, and 100 kofaki [6:00] shards. If you complete the weekly in [6:02] heroic world tier, this will reward you [6:04] gold, 15 myth dawn crest, 250 void light [6:07] mile, 100 field accolades, and 125 kofi [6:11] shards. Now, one thing that's [6:12] interesting here is that once you've [6:13] completed the weekly, there'll be a new [6:15] dialogue option that gives you the [6:16] choice to do even more activities, like [6:18] completing world activities or defeating [6:20] rares in the zone. And each of these [6:22] will also reward another cash with the [6:25] same rewards. So, really, if you do all [6:27] of them, you can get up to three cashes [6:29] a week from each difficulty. So, it's [6:31] definitely going to keep you busy. The [6:32] zones also feature a one-time quest in [6:34] Heroic World Tier to obtain four void [6:37] commanders emblems. Now, these can drop [6:39] from either of the world bosses in [6:41] Heroic World Tier, but it also looks [6:43] like these do come from the Heroic World [6:45] Tier weekly quests, all three of them. [6:47] So, you should be able to obtain this in [6:49] one week if you complete all the weekly [6:51] quests and kill the world boss. This [6:52] actually rewards a myth track piece, [6:54] which is the first time getting Myth [6:56] Track in World Content. You'll be able [6:58] to choose between a cloak, waste, or [7:00] braces. So, that's definitely a first [7:02] for solo players. There's also been some [7:04] pretty substantial updates to Marane [7:06] Silverwing in Silver Moon. So, this [7:08] vendor will now sell specific hero track [7:11] caches at 750 field accolades each and [7:14] has cashes for specific armor slots. [7:16] Also, weapons, rings, and trinkets. So, [7:19] you can specifically get some of those [7:21] hero track pieces for 750 each. She also [7:24] sells specific slots for champion as [7:26] well for 100 field accolades. Now, [7:28] unfortunately, as of the recording of [7:30] this, field accolades are not warbound, [7:32] so they are still character specific. [7:34] Now, while on the subject of updated [7:36] vendors in 1207, you also be able to [7:38] purchase the loss armament weapon [7:40] cosmetics from a vendor for 150 dark [7:43] particles. If you know about these [7:45] items, right now they are only obtained [7:47] at an extremely low drop rate from void [7:50] assaults, or you can purchase them on [7:52] the auction house for insane amount of [7:54] gold. So really cool to see them being [7:56] available from a vendor as of 1207. Now [7:58] back to the zone. The zone will also [8:00] feature a blue version of the prey armor [8:03] and weapons. Now these can be purchased [8:04] from a vendor for various amounts of [8:06] field accolades and void light maul. Now [8:09] they cost barely any accolades but tons [8:11] of void light m. So I hope you've been [8:13] saving. However, you can save yourself [8:15] some currency because if you come to one [8:16] of the zones on a level 80 plus the [8:19] world quest in the zone will actually [8:20] reward the appearances from this vendor. [8:23] Also, the rares in the zone also have a [8:24] chance of dropping these items as well, [8:26] so you might not need to spend as much [8:28] on the vendor. In Val, you'll be able to [8:30] acquire a purple version of the noble's [8:32] winter attire. This is a low drop chance [8:35] from chest in Val. The good news here is [8:38] if you don't like RNG from chess, you [8:39] can purchase these pieces from the [8:42] bulging winter pack for 250 accolades. [8:45] Negat will also have something similar [8:46] with brand new weapon appearances. These [8:48] can drop from chess in negat, but they [8:50] can also be purchased from the vendor [8:52] from the bulging ethereal pack for 250 [8:56] field accolades from the same vendor. [8:57] You can also purchase the swamp dwellers [9:00] night staff for field accolades and void [9:02] light maul. There's also some new light [9:04] forge weapon appearances. All of these [9:06] cost 60 field accolades and void light [9:08] mal. So firstly, you can purchase the [9:10] arsenal light forge armaments. This [9:12] contains a two-handed sword, a pole arm, [9:14] and a offh hand. You can also purchase [9:17] the light runed crystal beacon, which is [9:19] a one-handed mace, and the light veil [9:21] argonite blade, which is a one-handed [9:24] sword. There is also some light forge [9:26] housing decor. You've got the D-powered [9:28] light forge siege breaker for 500 mile. [9:31] The grand artifific's light forge [9:33] console for 250, the light veils [9:35] transport pad for 250, the luminant [9:38] soldiers war banner for 150, the [9:40] luminant defenders golden barricade for [9:42] 150, and the luminant scouts golden [9:45] fence for 150. There's also three pets [9:48] which are available to purchase. You've [9:49] got Frosticus Maximus for 750, Sento for [9:52] 750, and Fishstick Keith for 250 [9:56] Cinderize Swarmers and 30 Field [9:58] accolades. There's also three mounts [10:00] which are associated with the zone. You [10:01] got the Nether Forge null frame, which [10:03] is a void mech mount. You've got the [10:05] Voidmancer's Star Carver, which is a [10:08] void surfboard mount, and the tortured [10:11] gorgger, which is a void themed gorgger. [10:14] Now, it's worth noting here that a lot [10:15] of these rewards do require achievements [10:18] to purchase them. For example, some of [10:20] the mounts are attached to the meta [10:21] achievement of each of the zones, which [10:23] is a great segue to talk about [10:24] achievements. So, there are tons of [10:25] achievements in each of the zones which [10:27] have been added to the void assault [10:29] section. Now, these achievements range [10:31] from killing the world boss, killing [10:32] rares, completing world quests, [10:34] defeating a certain amount of creatures [10:36] with certain affixes, and various things [10:38] like that. And as mentioned, there is a [10:40] meta achievement for each of the zones. [10:42] And this is the requirement for the [10:43] Nether Forge null frame and the void [10:46] mantis star carver amount. So, tons of [10:48] things to do, tons of things to collect, [10:50] and tons of gear to acquire if you are [10:52] chasing some of those hero track pieces. [10:54] So, yeah, that is showdowns. Those are [10:57] the two new mini zones of 1207. Let me [11:00] know in the comments your thoughts on [11:01] these zones. Let me know your thoughts [11:03] on heroic world tier. Personally, I [11:05] think heroic world tier would be better [11:06] suited for like the start of a patch. [11:08] obviously when people are using kind of [11:10] world content to gear, but I think [11:11] people will probably enjoy having the [11:13] option to go in there. There's tons of [11:14] cosmetics to collect as well. So, it's [11:16] definitely going to keep people very, [11:18] very busy until we get to 12.1 in [11:20] August. So, guys, thank you very much [11:22] for watching. If you did like this [11:23] video, please do leave a like on it and [11:25] subscribe to the channel if you haven't [11:26] already.
