Now, starting off our tier list with melee DPS. The spotlight is different on death knights this patch with both Frost [01:10] and Unholy receiving some major changes. Unholy has seen some changes this season being replaced by a new talent called Legion of Souls. While it looks similar visually, it no longer grips enemies and instead applies festering wounds and [01:23] deals AoE damage. Frost, on the other hand, is looking strong. Breath of Syndraosa has been reworked into a more consistent and flexible cooldown. Instead of trying to keep it going as long as possible, it now has a flat [01:35] 8-second duration that can be extended slightly with procs. A key note for both specs is the change to anti-agic zone or AMZ. Its cooldown is being increased and its duration slightly reduced, though it now provides a flat 15% damage reduction [01:49] to everyone inside. In Mythic Plus, the longer cool down tends to come as a nerf for DK, which is a bummer. It's kind of a tossup on if Frost or Unholy is going to end up being the premier DK spec right now. They both seem very strong, [02:01] out on which one ends up coming out on top, but for now, just know both of them are super awesome to play currently. Havoc Demon Hunter hasn't seen many this season, they've leaned a bit more into their funnel damage with the [02:14] Aldrachi Reaver tier set. Along with this, they continue to bring Chaos Brand, which tends to be one of the more desired raid buffs for caster players. Havoc right now is that Vengeance is also really good, meaning you don't [02:27] necessarily need to bring a Havoc to benefit from their raid buff. Not to mention, Vengeance brings some other tools Havoc doesn't, such as Sigil of Silence and Sigil of Chains, making Havoc a bit less valuable. That said, [02:39] Havoc still offers a strong alternative to things such as Arcane Mage or niche in funnel situations. Overall, Havoc is in a solid place. Moving on to currently performing well and stands out as the top rogue spec for the time [02:54] being. Similar to Havoc, it also brings excellent funnel damage, which gives it a clear role in comps. That being said, it kind of sucks that both Havoc and into each other's place in the meta a bit. Rogues tend to be better options in [03:07] running something like Brew Master as your tank, they might be a little bit better for the job. Along with excellent damage, rogues offer great group utility with Shroud for skipping packs, some decent stops, and strong personal [03:19] survivability. Outlaw is a bit odd compared to the other rogue specs. It doesn't rely heavily on stealth, and its play style is built more around spikes. To some people that might sound appealing, and this season they're [03:32] spree, smoothing out the gameplay a bit and making the class a bit safer. That uses swords, which can be a little awkward early in the season when it was looking undeniably strong, the investment might be worth it, but right [03:47] now it's hard to justify crafting a sword over daggers when assassination and sub are both looking pretty solid. Outlaw still offers solid, steady damage across both AoE and single target, but it's not really standing out in the [03:59] you really want to play it, but we wouldn't recommend right now. Subtlety which makes it a bit more niche in Mythic Plus. It's getting some praise in raid settings right now, and there are likely going to be a few raid encounters [04:13] where its strengths really shine. But in Keys, sub just doesn't bring the same consistency that assassination does. Feral Druid hasn't seen any major the new season in a pretty similar state to how it ended the last one. This spec [04:26] offers strong single target burst, and that alone can make it a solid pick for bring a ton of valuable utility between the Wild. And if your group is leaning physical, feral fits that slot nicely. [04:39] There is some competition from other druid specs like Restoration this season, but Feral is still a viable and competitive option for both dungeons and raids. Retribution Paladin didn't get the cleanest PTR cycle due to a few bugs [04:51] a super clear picture of how they'd land. That said, they did get a few right now they're looking like a solid pick. We're placing them in the A tier to start the season. Rhett still brings great utility to the group with a solid [05:05] toolkit that includes offheels, freedom, sack, and bop. They also have some strong AoE. The downside is that AoE is basically all they offer. This can be a problem in higher keys where bursting down specific targets becomes more [05:17] someone bringing more funnel or single target though, Rhett is an amazing safer specs to play in any tier. They're looking for a class to really commit to, we definitely recommend checking out our [05:30] Rhett course over on the skill cap site. Next up is survival. Survival did see and right now they're sitting in a bit of a rough spot overall. Their damage is fine, but they struggle with the same things every hunter spec struggles with. [05:44] they have a lack of a meaningful raid buff, which makes it hard to justify Windalker is in an okay spot right now. They still run into some of the same issues as before, being target capped and having a raid buff that can be a bit [05:57] situational depending on group comp. That said, they bring solid single target, perform well on smaller pulls, and have strong defensives to help them maning Windalker this last season, chances are you're more of a raider than [06:09] a Mythic Plus player, and you can still seek comfort in that. They seem fine in raid. But in Mythic Plus, they could use some love. On to warrior. Not much has changed for Warrior this patch. Both Fury and Arms are still struggling to [06:21] stand out. Their AoE is limited due to target cap issues, and their single it. Unless we see some adjustments, both Fury and Arms are likely to remain on the lower end of the pack. Protection, on the other hand, is looking more [06:34] class this season, but DPS warriors are in shambles right now. Finally, shifting over to enhance. Things are looking a bit rough right now. Enhancement is had some highs during the PTR, but right now it's rather clunky to play with some [06:48] even be somewhat viable. Most of this has to do with how their set bonuses enhance could easily jump up a tier or two, so just keep your eyes peeled. He rolling into the official launch of season 3, but overall it's still not [07:03] feeling great and we feel confident in a low Btier placement. Overall for melee, Most of the classes at the bottom could just be a few changes from moving up a tier. So definitely don't feel down if your main isn't at the top right now. We [07:17] changes until after the race, but we wouldn't expect the lower specs to stay like this the whole season. Moving on to ranged. Arcane Mage is looking like the now. They're coming into this tier with a solid toolkit and great funnel [07:32] pick in both raid and mythic plus. This is a bit of a switch up. Right now, you're running Sunfury, which changes up the play style a bit. But overall, it's without all the arcane orbs. With very high priority damage and excellent [07:46] utility all around, this spec is just performing very well right now. Arcane should feel strong for anyone familiar with the spec's play style. Frost Mage well. While it's probably not arcane overall, it still brings a lot to the [08:00] table with strong AoE, strong control, and some really useful group utility. moved out of Blizzard too often, which can be frustrating. But if your tank is being conscious about their positioning, this spec can really crank. Lots of [08:14] this is a really good tier to be a mage right now. Fire mage is looking a bit now. Naturally, if you're class with three DPS specs, one of them is just going to fall behind, so this isn't exactly surprising. Some recent nerfs [08:28] moment, it just feels less impactful compared to Arcane or Frost. The current build leans heavily into flame strike, which can lead to a lot of AoE padding you'll find with the other specs. That said, fire still brings great mobility [08:42] compared to arcane or frost, solid utility, and some defensive value compared to other mage specs with cauter eyes that can make it super cozy to bit lower at the start of this season. Shadow is looking like a strong pick [08:55] the board, and they bring a lot of valuable utility with things like power infusion, off-healing from vampiric embrace, and fortitude to beef their helpful changes at the end of last [09:08] a positive direction. And this tier, they've picked up a second charge of Shadow Crash, which is a huge quality of life improvement for Mythic Plus. Both their voidw weaver and their archon hero talents right now are fairing very well. [09:20] this season, you've got options. Disc being good does eat into a bit of to fall behind in the healer competition, you may be seeing more and warlocks. Demonology is looking like a [09:34] It's performing well in pretty much every type of pull. Whether it's single target, cleave, or hightarget AOE, Demo holds its own without needing a perfect appealing for the average player since the damage feels consistent and [09:48] impactful no matter what kind of dungeon you're in. Soul Harvesters tier set is currently doing a lot of work in Mythic Plus, offering solid AoE pressure and good shard generation to keep your rotation flowing. It's worth noting that [10:00] our S tier ranking for Demo is targeted specifically at the average player. Destro may still outperform Demo in the tippy top of keys, but for right now, we really want to highlight Demonology. If you're unfamiliar with how demo plays [10:12] demo course on the site to help catch you up to speed. It'll have everything season. Destruction is still filling a strong niche this season, especially pulls. Unlike most specs that have damage fall off past a certain target [10:27] targets there are, thanks to how their damage spreads and ramps with dots. This where your group can consistently pull big, which is how many of the new dungeons have been trending. Their new Hellcller tier set looks solid so far, [10:41] helping you stack wither faster. That said, the core gameplay for Destro hasn't changed much from last tier. If you enjoyed how the spec felt before, you'll still enjoy it now. Right now, it's a good pick for specific situations [10:53] just running a normal key, then we'd still recommend the leaning demo. damage this season, especially during its cooldown windows. It stands out from strong priority damage, which makes it valuable for burning down key targets in [11:08] a pack. The main drawback is that outside of those cooldown windows, its damage drops off quite a bit. Along with this, something overall that holds back all the Warlock specs, of course, is their lack of a raid buff. Health stones [11:20] can be all right, but just comparing to other classes is not enough in Mythic Plus. They do offer a battle res, shadow fury, and sometimes their dispel or you're really bringing a warlock for the damage. So, if they're not cranking, [11:34] there are other options that benefit the group more. Elemental shaman is looking Their AoE burst is still one of the best in the game, especially when running threeminute ascendants. And their new Stormbbrer tier set really plays into [11:46] offering additional procs. Along with this, they bring a ton of group value with a great interrupt, solid utility, and a helpful raid buff that fits into a lot of comp structures. The biggest thing holding Ellie back right now is [11:59] survivability. Without strong defenses, it can be a bit punishing in highkey scenarios. Along with this, their single target outside of burst windows tends to be just all right, which can limit their effectiveness on bosses or priority [12:11] mobs. That said, if you're looking for a range spec with huge AoE potential and solid team value, elemental is in a great spot. Devastation Evoker feeling like a sleeper pick this season. Flame Shaper is still the go-to hero talent, [12:24] offering great priority damage through engulf with some large AoE potential on slot into most comps, mainly because they don't offer a traditional raid bring comes from more defensive utility such as Zephyr, Renewing Blaze, and [12:38] group shaping impact as some other specs, their damage is absolutely competitive, especially on bosses or key priority targets. It's one of those specs that tends to fly under the radar, but if you're playing it well, it can [12:51] Moving on to hunters, both hunter specs damage is still solid, but hunters overall are in a weird spot right now when it comes to mythic plus. Their utility is just underwhelming. Their stops aren't exactly the best. Hunter [13:04] aren't terrible, but they're also not great. Hunter and M plus is just a class that relies so much on tuning, and right now they're not tuned to be broken. So, you just won't really see them as a meta spec in most comps. They do however slot [13:17] in pretty well to physical comps that may be looking for a range DPS, but aside from that, they're finding them a bit lower on our tier list for these reasons. We are placing BM slightly higher than marksman. We believe their [13:29] damage on both single target and AoE can outmatch marksman in most scenarios. You can play them both, but honestly, BM is just much more convenient. So, if a lot more appealing to play BM. Balance Druid has taken a bit of a hit going [13:42] into the new patch. They were looking incredibly strong during early testing, during testing, they're not feeling quite as dominant anymore. That said, Boomkin still brings some great group utility in Mythic Plus. Strong AoE, [13:55] solid utility with Solar Beam and Mark of the Wild, and decent survivability thanks to bear form. They did see some minor buffs this week going into the overall, they're still not looking to be a crazy outlier right now and will [14:08] likely need some more tuning. Augmentation isn't seeing a ton of play at the moment, and honestly, it's not hard to see why. After the heavy nerfs been done to address the core issues that pushed them out of the meta in the [14:20] buffs here and there, and they're definitely not unplayable, but they're just not feeling essential in most comps right now. There's still potential for groups where you can line up burst windows with other specs, but right now, [14:34] we wouldn't expect to see them in most Here's a look at the whole ranged meta right now. You could make the argument for a few of these specs to either jump up or down a tier, but for the most [14:46] representation of where the meta is right now. There are a lot of really rolling into this season, it's going to be really fun to see how the meta comps shape out. Moving on to healers, [14:58] restoration druid is looking like one of the stronger healing options this that first they need to meet the healing requirements for a dungeon and then in the meta is determined by just how much damage they can do. Due to catw [15:12] weaving, wild stalker contributes to this pretty nicely, offering restoration druids a nice way to pump some serious damage while also being able to top their wild stalker tier set. You also get access to Mark of the Wild, a [15:25] powerful group buff that fits naturally into most comp setups, and bear form defensive tools in high keys. Overall, Resto Druid is a well-rounded healer that brings strong throughput, great utility, and competitive damage, making [15:38] them a top pick in the current Mythic Plus landscape. Also, Catweaving just definitely a good season to be playing Resto Druid. It is worth noting Resto next week, so we'll have to see how they end up playing out, but for now, we're [15:53] confident in our ranking of them. Next up is Resto Shaman. Far Seir is looking strong again this season and is likely going to be the go-to pick for M plus windows give you strong spot healing and let you contribute more offensively when [16:06] the group isn't in danger. Honestly, the Farseier Ancestor play style is just super satisfying, and they definitely cooked with this hero talent. Breesto also brings some of the best utility in the game. You've got wind shear, cap [16:18] totem, thunderstorm, multiple dispels, and of course, spirit link, which can stabilize basically any high damage moment. Overall, Resto Shaman is just feeling awesome. Definitely recommend. Next up, we've got Discipline Priest. [16:30] Both Oracle and Voidw Weaver are looking strong right now, offering two very all about the massive shields and high mitigation, while Void Weaver focuses more on dealing damage and converting it into healing through atonement. Voidw [16:43] this season, especially for players who want to be more aggressive and contribute big numbers on the damage meter. Oracle may still come out on top in high keys due to the sheer value of shielding, but for most content, both [16:55] hero talents are viable. Disc overall is in a fantastic spot with strong healing, buffs in the game. Holy Paladin is looking solid rolling into this season. They're bringing strong spot healing, decent damage, and some great utility [17:09] tools with sack, bop, freedom, and a kick. The lightsmith hero talent adds a nice boost to both healing and damage, making the spec feel snappy and safer healers to play thanks to things like bubble. While not quite on the [17:22] level of resto or disc, holy paladin is comfortably sitting in the A tier and Preservation of ochre is shaping up to be a solid A tier pick this season. mythic plus, offering strong healing as well as solid damage. Their biggest [17:36] If the group is spread out, it can be They don't bring the strongest raid buff either, which makes them a bit less and group comps. That said, they've got some decent utility and strong [17:49] defensives, making them a reliable option if you enjoy the play style. into this tier. Their healing and damage aren't anything crazy right now, but they're still fully playable in both raid and mythic plus. Their raid buff, [18:02] damage dealers. So, they're a bit more healers. In Mythic Plus, they've got some decent tools and their tier set especially if you're running ChiG, but for the most part, they're not really a [18:15] top meta pick right now going into season 3. Finally, we've got Holy Priest. It's not a bad spec by any means, but it's always going to be compared to disc, especially in Mythic Plus. Holy offers great spot healing, [18:27] some decent damage, and even a cheap death, but it lacks the massive shields of Oracle or the burst damage of voidw weaver. They also tend to struggle a bit which can make them feel less reliable in higher keys. Still, if you're a holy [18:40] man, it's playable, just not the most competitive option this tier. Taking a you'll notice there are plenty of viable options. Hopefully, this is a nice dominated by disc priests. Things may shake up as the weeks go on, but this is [18:54] where we're at right now. Finally, let's take a look at tanks. Protection warrior is looking like a very strong option early in the season. They're putting out extremely durable, and that's a combination that's always going to feel [19:07] good in Mythic Plus. While we've seen different builds gain popularity during and Mountain Thane are playable. Mountain Thane was looking like the top pretty hefty damage nerf. They still [19:20] Plus, but this nerf was a decent hit to them. Keep in mind, warrior also brings excellent utility with AoE silence, groupwide stuns, and a solid raid buff question right now is how they'll hold up in high magic damage dungeons after [19:34] the removal of spell block. It hasn't been a major issue in early runs, but it could show up more as we push higher. That said, warrior is one of the tank and is definitely worth considering if you enjoy doing insane damage as a tank. [19:47] Vengeance Demon Hunter is holding strong going to season 3. They're still very durable, bring solid group utility, and have some of the best control tools in the game with Sigil of Silence, Sigil of Chains, AoE stuns, and multiple stops [19:59] through Sigil of Misery. Along with this, they also have decent funnel now due to the new Aldrachi tier set. Chaos Brand is always going to be a huge plus clear identity as the go-to tank for magic damage focused comps. Overall, [20:12] performing tanks in the current meta and a reliable pick for players looking to push high keys with a solid all-around tank. Finally, in our S tier, you'll notice that there's a common theme for tanks. We have pro Paladin. All three of [20:25] these tanks bring AoE interrupts that tend to be just so massive for a group, this, protection brings some solid external cooldowns like blessing of makes them a bit more valuable than [20:38] they put out isn't top tier, but it's all right. And as long as you're confident in managing your defenses, prop Paladin still has a lot to offer. MEL potion added this season, prop Paladin gains some value since they [20:52] anymore. Overall, they're a great pick for players who like having strong utility and control over the key, even if they're a little more demanding to looking to be a solid option this season. Again, mostly in physical comps [21:05] is where you'll see this spec shine. Their single target damage is some of can help speed up boss fights and dangerous priority targets durable as some of the top tanks like prop warrior or vengeance. And they [21:18] table either, which can make some pulls feel a bit more chaotic. That said, they've still got a solid self-sustain. And the Brew Master kit is great at played well, helps take the pressure off your healer. If you're looking to play [21:31] got a comp that can cover a bit more of the utility, Brew Master's damage is a of the tankiest specs in the game with great passive mitigation and strong take down. The issue right now is that their damage lags behind most of the [21:47] quite make up the difference. They're still a reliable option if you're looking for a tank that can soak a ton of damage and keep your group safe, but or Vengeance, Guardian just feels a bit less impactful overall. If damage tuning [22:01] But as it stands now, they're more of a niche pick than a meta staple, strong since they largely bring all the Knight is starting off the season in a bit of a rough spot. They've gone [22:15] is the direction most players are leaning early on, the spec just isn't performing as well as the other tanks right now. Their self-sustain is okay, times. And their overall damage feels low. Not to mention, they're missing [22:28] other tanks bring to Mythic Plus. With the nerfs to Blood Beast, it's just left Blood DK feeling a bit underwhelming. There's potential for things to shift with tuning, but as it stands, Blood DK [22:41] Playable, but not currently a frontr runner. Finally, a look at our tank have those AoE interrupts in common. Slightly below them, Brew is definitely a potential option, bringing a lot of the damage, but sacrificing control. [22:56] Blood DK.
