[00:17] which is anywhere under a thousand dollars or even less than ten thousand dollars, and you're trying to flip it fast, please watch this video. When I first started trading seven years [00:30] ago, I remember the first account was a hundred dollars. So, this is where I deposited like a hundred dollars out of the five hundred bucks I have in my bank account into my first trading account. [00:44] And the thing is, because of beginners luck, I managed to get some wins under my belt. You know, I won a few trades on EUR/USD or GBP/USD, managed to turn that hundred dollars into five hundred dollars. I was so god damn ecstatic [00:59] because now my trading account is matching my bank account. Wow, five hundred bucks, man. Never seen that amount of money like I did like I didn't just have the capacity to like just take in what just happened, you know? I've [01:14] literally just made four hundred bucks in what, a few trade? While I was working, earning seven dollars an hour as a waiter. And then later on, I made some stupid mistakes, got [01:27] emotional, obviously. Didn't even know about risk management back then. Boom, in one big bad loss. I'm sure you have felt that same way right? If you're a beginner, you will know that this is what I call the phase [01:42] of big market division, right? The apprenticeship phase, where you have to you otherwise would not have learned. And then later on, I opened another deposited twenty dollars from my bank account into my small trading account. [01:57] Once again, ready to again. Managed to turn that $20 into 100 bucks. Thought I was a freaking genius. Thought I was Warren Buffett. And obviously, blow it again. And then, I went on to work at like a 9-5 office job doing this [02:14] company, and that is when when I was making around $650 a month. from my paycheck, put it into my trading account, and I would try to grow that $650 into $1,000, and then $5,000. And [02:31] sometimes I could, sometimes I couldn't. And every single time, the thing is, I knew how to trade. I knew how to analyze the charts. I knew about chart patterns. patterns. I knew about support and resistance levels, which means that I [02:47] could read price, which also means that I managed to get some wins, right? You know, I managed to grow that $650 into $1,000 into $3,000 into $5,000. There was this one time where I managed to turn it into [03:01] $9,000 in 3 days just trading gold alone. Imagine that. Turning $650 or whatever I had in my trading account, right? Less [03:13] than 1,000 bucks to $9,000 in less than 72 hours with a few trades. All just by purely trading gold. Once again, I thought that I was the [03:26] best trader in the entire world. Nothing could stop me. And then, I remember on the fourth day, I decided to risk the entire account on one single NFP news, right? So, NFP [music] was coming out on gold. You [03:41] >> [music] >> does not go so well, price is going to go down. So, I was like, you know what? I've been lucky for so long. Let me just try to go all in, right? All in or nothing. Right? Just like gambling, [03:53] I'm going to put like freaking big-ass lots on this trade. I'm confident that price is going to go up." Okay, so I place I pretty much place like a buy limit order, if I'm not wrong. Right, place a buy limit order right here. [04:06] Boom, news came out. Price started going up, right? Going up immediately, trigger because I knew for a fact that I was about to get rich. I was about to turn this 10K into 20K. And the next thing you know, because a [04:22] lot of market manipulation going on, a lot of volatility, price straight away reverse and hit down 100 pips. And the worst part is I didn't have a stop loss. And I was over-leveraging my [04:36] account. So, you can imagine my face as I watched the MetaTrader, the numbers on the MetaTrader go from blue to red. And like go from being up like a few thousand dollars to being down five [04:51] seven thousand dollars, eight thousand dollars. As the number of the loss keep on getting bigger and bigger, my heart keep pumping faster and faster. And at a point of time, I was like lost for words. I just froze there. All right, [05:06] like my fight or flight instinct or freeze instinct kicks in and I just compound. I mean, there was nothing I could do about it. Next thing you know, I saw all the positions on the [05:20] I saw all the positions on the MetaTrader close by itself. got liquidated. I got margin called. Now, at that point of time, I was so [05:32] angry at the market. I was so frustrated. I was so upset. I was feeling this roller coaster of emotions. And I was like still having trouble processing what just happened. And when I saw that I just lost the ten thousand [05:44] off, man. Like, imagine that. You know, you have been working your ass off at a 9-5 office job, internship, making about 650 an hour, and you literally saw yourself flip that into [05:59] I've never seen 10K before in my entire life. And now it was just gone in one stupid mistake, in one bad gamble, in one big bet loss. So, I was devastated. [06:13] And I did the thing that any normal trader would do. I went to my pillow. I I was like, I was just like pushing my face in the pillow, just like shouting in my room, and I was punching the pillow, and I was like, "Oh my god, why [06:27] did I took that trade? Why was I so stupid? I should have just withdraw that money and go and buy a new freaking watch, go and buy a new shoes, go and buy a freaking iPhone. Why the hell did I just Ah, you know, like that was [06:39] exactly how I felt. And the next day when I wake up in my bed, I was like, >> man, should I just like continue this? Should I really just continue trading? Because if I continue trading, [06:53] the thing is, yes, I can make money, but inevitably, I always lose my hard-earned earned from working these different jobs. I decided to sit there with a notebook in silence and just started reflecting [07:06] on what had happened. And that moment of silence saved me. Because in that moment of silence, I had given myself time and space for introspection. Just like what Ray Dalio said, pain plus [07:22] feedback equal progress. So, if you want to make progress in your trading journey, you need to suffer the pain of losing money, blowing accounts, failing funding challenges, and you also need to review [07:36] the trades that you have taken that resulted you to be in this painful state in the first place. You need to take time and the space to just introspect, to ponder on like why you actually lost all these trades in [07:48] the first place. Right? So, that is why I sat there with a notebook, just in silence, no distractions, no music, uh no one speaking to me, just locked myself in a room and just sat there in silence. And I realized that well, it [08:02] was because I was risking $10,000 to make $10,000 and I was always risking 100% of my account on every single trade. Which also means that the moment I actually lose one trade, I'll blow my account and [08:15] go back to square one. And this is exactly how a lot of you guys are trading right now. A lot of the small account traders are trading right now. They're so obsessed with trying to flip their $500 into $1,000 into $1,000 [08:30] to $2,000 that they forego risk management. about risk management. So, in that moment of silence, I realized that the main problem is the fact that I did not have proper [music] [08:45] risk parameters. I did not know how to manage risk. I didn't even know why I was risking 1% per trade. All I knew was That's what's going on in my head. And as a result, I was just trading the [08:59] market with my ego. Not based on rules, on structure. No I was losing. So, that was the main problem. And once again, this is something that a lot of you guys are doing right now. You [09:13] guys are over leveraging your account. Right? You guys are going for 1:500 leverage, 1:1000 leverage, and you guys are, you know, putting 0.5 lots on your freaking $500 account. And when that happens, [09:29] some point of time, you are going to hit a loss. Because that's just the random probabilistic nature of the market. No matter how good a trading strategy is, no matter how profitable you are, at [09:42] loss. And if you don't manage your risk well, that loss will become a big loss that wipe out all your gains. So, that's the importance of like just adhering to your risk parameters, setting clear rules on [09:55] like how much money to risk on any given trade. you're willing to incur before you stop trading for the day? What is the maximum amount of exposure or drawdown? Right? So, that's the first [10:08] thing, over-leveraging. The second mistake I realized was that I did not have a plan. I did not have a trading plan. I did not have structure. I was just purely trading based on guesswork. [10:22] Or based on like, you know, the retail concepts like >> [music] >> good at analyzing the charts. I was good at trading price action. You know, I would [10:34] actually look at the freaking bullish engulfing candlestick pattern at a support level and I'll enter for a buy there. And from the time to time, it really, really well. It got me to like, you know, flipping $500 to $10,000, so [10:47] it must work, right? But what I failed to realize was that it was different every single time. All I was really doing was that I was levels, but I forgot the fact that or I didn't [11:02] know the fact that every movement in the market is unique. Which means the same pattern can appear at the same level, and it might work well the first time round, it might not work [11:15] well the second time round. The second time round, there might be some liquidity, there might be some um imbalance, which caused price to take out that level right there instead of respecting it. [11:28] So, that was the second thing, right? I just did not have a structure, I did not have a trading plan, I did not know exactly when to enter and when to exit. I was just purely trading for the sake of making money and just trying to guess [11:42] exactly how you could actually, you know, succeed. Let me just close this this window is not fully closed. Okay, there we go. Yeah. So, that was the second mistake, right? It's just trading without a plan. [11:56] properly, I didn't know how to do top-down analysis, I didn't know, you didn't know which phase of the market is, I didn't know what is my daily bias. And that is why I create all of these free YouTube videos for you guys. It's [12:11] really so that I can impart you the knowledge that I wish I knew when I first started trading in the first place and just allow you to have all the knowledge, all the tools you need to actually build your own trading plan. [12:23] building a trading plan. The third thing was emotions. Once again, when I was flipping the $500 to $9,000, what do you think is the most dominant emotion in my head? Every single day. [12:38] It was greed. It was greed. until I started trading. I didn't know that I like money until I started [12:50] trading. The market simply exposed me for who I am. with your hard-earned money. Because with life real capital on the [13:02] line, the market will expose your biggest weaknesses, biggest weaknesses, flaws, and shortcomings. And you're not going to like what you see. [13:17] It just reflects you for who you are. So, if you don't like what you see, change the person in the mirror. So, that is when once again, I was, you know, like to grow the account very aggressively because I was having this [13:31] delusional goal of, you know, becoming a millionaire trader in 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, you know, turning $500 into 20k, 50k because after all all of these trading gurus can do it. So, why can't me? Why can't I do it? Why Why not [13:46] you, right? Once again, delusions of grandeur. I realized that a lot of times I was entering into the trades because I just want to make as much money as humanly possible. [14:00] A lot of times I show up I wake up every single morning I show up to the market. single morning I show up to the market. I have this make money. That's it. have a plan in the first place. I didn't have like a structured routine. I didn't [14:15] have good trading habits like journaling and reviewing. I was just trying to trade so that I can extract some money from the market so that I can buy the stuff that I want to buy. So, that was me trading on greed. [14:29] And trust me, when you are trading on emotions, when you are trading on greed, fear, doubt, hesitation, anger, frustration, you are no longer trading the market. You are simply trading your mental [14:45] You are simply trading your mental well-being. well-being, guess what? You are not seeing price for what it is. Price can be clearly bullish right now, but you might still think that oh, price [15:01] is going to go down. So, you're going to sell the top. And then when you sell the further. Once again, the market doesn't care >> The market doesn't give a about you. The market doesn't care about your [15:14] perception of the market. The market does what it does best, which is move. sideways? You don't get to decide which direction it actually move in. So, that is why it's so dangerous to [15:28] trade with emotions because when you're trading with emotions, you are not seeing the market for what it is. think it's going to do. And that's [15:40] just a misalignment of like perception, right? Perception and reality. That was the third epiphany that I have like discovered while I was sitting there in silence. I realized that damn it, it was my emotions that caused [15:55] me to [music] over leverage, that caused me to take these trades recklessly that took them anyways because I just wanted to make money. That's it. So, predominantly, those were like the [16:07] three mistakes. And like I said, those three mistakes gave me awareness. Here's the big mindset shift. Now looking back in retrospect, I realized that you're not supposed to grow small accounts. You're supposed to use the small [16:22] accounts as a training ground for you to get better at a skill set so that later on when you manage a large account, you actually know what to do. So, instead of treating small accounts like weapons or tools that you can use [16:37] use them as a university, right? Use them to pay market tuition. lessons that you otherwise would not have learned [16:52] place, right? So, it's like once again, now looking back in retrospect, I realized that one day, that moment of silence where I sit there and introspect, that allowed me to make [17:05] so much progress over the next few years because that was the day where I learned That was the day where I learned that I had to trade with a mechanical trading system. That was the day where I learned that I had to manage my emotions. [17:20] that the market is simply a reflection of me. if nothing changes. Your P&L will not change until you change. [17:36] That day taught me that. And obviously after that day I didn't become magically losing money, still continue being market division. But now every single reviewing the loss. I'm asking myself what went wrong and what went right. So [17:50] that I can keep on improving. Because I realized that it's not the reps that count. It's [music] reps plus feedback. It's reps plus you know, just reviewing the reps so [18:03] that you are actively improving your trading strategy, you're actively >> don't use a small account as a way to get rich. Use it as a training ground for you to get better at trading. Use it. [18:17] lose it. [music] Right? Go and lose the money in the small account. Go and blow the account. Okay, I'll say don't purposely blow the account, right? But like don't beat yourself up for it if you do blow the account. And when you do [18:29] blow the account or you do lose a trade, ask yourself why do you lose the trade? ask yourself why do you lose the trade? Because that is exactly what you need to actually take your trading to the next level. It's the reviewing process. It's [18:41] level. It's the reviewing process. It's the process of like just ensuring that you are becoming more aware. Because once you start becoming more conscious, guess what? You are less prone to becoming unconscious again. [18:54] patterns that got you to where you are right now. So yeah, that's my best piece of advice for all the small traders out there. The main thing is that I really wanted to to like tell you guys this story to [19:08] you, but to let you guys know that I've been there, done that, I've lost all the failed all the funding challenges myself as well. So, I know exactly how you And now looking back, you know, in [19:23] years, after making almost a million dollars from day trading last month, I dollars from day trading last month, I realized that this is the message that it's like this is the message that, you know, it doesn't sound fun, it doesn't [19:37] sound cool, it doesn't sound exciting, but it's the message that you need to Because this is the message that I wish I knew in my first year of trading. Because if I knew this, I would know that everything is divine, right? Every [19:51] single loss has a purpose and that is so that you can grow as a trader later down account. That is why now when you see me managing multi-seven-figure account, I don't over-leverage anymore. [20:06] stick to my risk parameters, I stick to my trading plan, I manage my emotions. Why? Because I've got burned so many damn times when I was trading on a small account. And once again, now looking back, I'm just so grateful that I wasn't [20:21] given a big account to begin with. If I was to give younger Brett 7 years ago a 100K account, he probably would have blown it in like 3 days as well. [20:34] understand all of these lessons that I understand right now. yeah, man. Right now, you're going through the professional trader, becoming a profitable trader. So, fall in love with [20:48] trading. Because when you eventually do, bro, and you get a big account, bro, you're set for life, bro. Like, you're genuinely set for life, man. And I'll just give you guys like five [21:04] written down on my phone right here, to just end off this video to give you like a simple system that you can follow, like a practical framework that you can take away and you can start implementing like from tomorrow onwards. [21:16] And before I give you this framework, I just want to say that just want to say that 95% of traders watching this, they will ignore everything that I say and just go back to over-leveraging [21:28] their small accounts into $1,000 tomorrow. If you belong to the top 5% who actually listen to what I say and actually apply then I'm patting you on the back. Kudos to [21:42] really doing what's necessary. You're doing what's required, which is you got my respect for that. So, yeah. Remember, nothing changes if nothing changes. Nothing changes if you don't change. If you keep on doing the [21:56] are today, you're just going to get the exact same results. Which also means that if you don't start doing all of this stuff that I'm about to lay out, you're just going to continue losing money, losing trades, blowing accounts, [22:10] As simple as that. [music] Now, here's you to do do like start implementing today. So, write them down somewhere. I it onto your notepad on your phone and screenshot it and put it as your [22:24] paper and then paste it on your wall in front of your monitor. Whatever [music] it is, note them down somewhere. Number one, risk 1% per trade max. sure that you adhere to your risk parameters. If you're only risking 1% of [22:40] your account on each trade, guess what? You have 100 bullets in your chamber. You have 100 bullets in your chamber. You literally have 100 chances [music] uh 100 tries before you actually blow up. Number two, take max two to three [22:54] trades per day. That's it. All you need is two to three than that. Two to three high-quality trades per day Two to three high-quality trades per day can get you the life of your dreams. [23:06] this, but like there's this crow [music] that's Academic crow. Uh next rule is [music] only take A+ setups, right? Once again, this comes down to having a trading plan. [23:21] single setup looks like an opportunity to you. To the man with a hammer, every single problem looks like a nail. Munger gave or something along the lines of that. Number four, journal every [23:37] single trade. Like I said, you need to journal the trade you so that you can actually make the loss worth it. It is only a loss if you do not learn from it. And the way you learn from it is by journaling the trade in the first place [23:51] and then reviewing it later on to see what you could have done better, how can same mistake in the first place. And speaking of journaling, if you want to get a trading super app which allows you to do all of this stuff that I just [24:04] app Edge Flow. Shameless plug right there. But yes, I believe in this app so all of this stuff. It allows you to have your trading plan on there, it allows to trade with discipline on there. You even have guardrails to prevent you from [24:19] check out Edge Flow, man. Anyways, the last rule is to stop trading after hitting your loss limit. Once again, you need to set like a target for yourself. Right? If you lose $500, if you lose 1% of your account, if [24:35] for the day. This prevents the small loss from turning into a big loss. This prevents one loss from turning into blowing your So, you need to set that guardrail for [24:48] yourself. So, those are the five rules that I want you to really remember and I just continue I would love to just yapping, but I need to use the washroom like really, really bad. So, I'm going [25:00] Um thank you for [music] watching this video itself, right? Like I said, if you want to have a trading super app that's suited for Forex traders, who allows you mentioned, build your trading plan, trade with discipline with guardrails, [25:15] and journal your trades, and review your your data, check out my trading app Edge You know, I've spent the past 1 year just building this absolute phenomenal yeah, man. I know what [25:41] losing, to be frustrated, to be unprofitable, to be stuck in this cycle of unprofitability. And if I managed to break that off that And if I managed to break that off that cycle, that vicious cycle, you can too. [25:54] cycle, that vicious cycle, you can too. The question is, why not you? playlist if you want to learn how to build a trading plan with my strategy, So, check that out right there. And as always, remember, you're just one trade [26:11] always, remember, you're just one trade away.
