[00:43] fiction. And this isn't the only screw up they did this week when it comes to turning an episode into fan fiction. I actually [laughter] was going to make a dedicated video talking about the latest Mushoku Tensei episodes because of this
[00:58] right here. I I like let me Let me zoom in for you can see this. This is on the left side, Crunchyroll's translation for the Mushoku Tensei episode. This is on the right side, Muse Asia's translation for the Mushoku Tensei episode. And if
[01:12] you scroll down, you will instantly just see the quality difference on just how the left is just straight up not accurate and it's complete fan fiction novel. Like, for those that want to learn about our qualification,
[01:27] what is actually being said in Japanese, what is actually being said within the light novel of Mushoku Tensei. Well, the left side is Crunchyroll taking pretty much making things completely different or throwing in, you know,
[01:42] zoomer speech or memes and stuff like that or something that just does not mean the exact same thing. Like, look at this, okay? On the left side here, you have Oh, well, he was good to me. That's what Roxy is saying about their night
[01:54] together, how she was with Rudy that night. But if you look on the right side here, you have Roxy say, "Well, we've done a lot of rounds." Obviously, this is very, very dirty. It's a very dirty dialogue, but that's exactly what was
[02:07] said in the novels. But, Crunchyroll literally took creative freedoms to basically just censor it, change the dialogue, and it completely changes a lot of what's going on here. Like, look at this one, okay? Like, he is in fair
[02:22] of aura from him. And then, on the right side, you have translation notes. Holy crap, translation notes. A dying breed of subtitle. Muse Asia actually adding
[02:34] see in the translation, "His body seems to be in good shape, but there's nothing imposing about him." And then, she says hockey, not Toki. She's not talking about battle aura. So, basically, complete difference uh uh showcasing the
[02:48] difference in translation on what is being said here. And it's just like you can see Crunchyroll doesn't even try. Like, they don't even try to make it the exact same as the novel. Like, look at this one. "I'll beat your rudest and
[03:02] drag him in front of you as my servant." And what she actually says, "I will make him my slave and parade him in front of you." Obviously, way more crazy dialogue, but that is what is actually said in the novel. And it is insane.
[03:16] Like, this is not the only example. We now have actual Japanese speakers calling out Crunchyroll for their [ __ ] what they're doing to 100 Girlfriends. So, let's just let's showcase this. So, basically, this
[03:31] entire person, he outlined exactly the dialogue from just this clip alone that is a minute and 9 seconds from the latest episode of 100 Girlfriends, which introduces basically one of my favorite characters within the manga. She tries
[03:44] that. She's not really good at it, but it's very funny. And she's very, very good at speaking Japanese. And it's just really good at Japanese, but she wants to speak English and she's just not good
[03:56] at it. It's That's the joke. And that's literally, you know, what is basically what's going on here. But, Crunchyroll took creative liberties to insert a bunch of different memes and propaganda and agenda within just this 1-minute
[04:11] girl here, she compiled some images showcasing the manga translation in comparison to what Crunchyroll did. For instance, the manga says, "Oh, what was that? Nihongo wakarimasen." And then you said, "Don't
[04:24] ask me, my Japanese is in sixth level." And then if you go here, Japanese people are very, very pitiful. People should be free to live much more freely, desu. And Crunchyroll's translation, "That mindset's older than the trees in this
[04:37] mindset's older than the trees in this marketplace of ideas." Bro, like marketplace of ideas." Bro, like >> [snorts] here. Crunchyroll is
[04:51] this, okay? It's because they didn't want to seem racist or they didn't want to seem like they were insulting the Japanese. And okay, but it's like Japan is writing 100 girlfriends. They They know They KNOW THIS WAS APPROVED BY
[05:06] EDITORS IN JAPAN. And the actual language they're speaking. Like, let let me explain. Crunchyroll censored it thinking potentially it might hurt the Japanese people, okay? But, it's like you the actual dialogue is saying that.
[05:21] And but it's a very popular show. Why you Why you censoring? It's just It It's nonsensical. It It doesn't make any sense. Let's go to the next one. If you go to the next one, you have this. Manga, native English doesn't register.
[05:33] But, in the Crunchyroll translation, "My English do not native. My steak too juicy." And don't get me wrong, funny. I I I will admit I did giggle a little bit Oh everybody would want her steak. But, the point here is is that it's not
[05:48] they're inserting memes and their own comedy into something that is not there. And it's just like it completely showcases how they don't try to have mean, it doesn't just stop at that. I
[06:02] out of us and then you have how about I turn you into a steak? It's just like they are completely changing dialogue, creating their own fanfiction, and this honestly affects some of the personality of the
[06:15] characters. These little changes they add up to where fundamentally the character is so different from their actual manga counterpart. And it's just this is shameful. Like, the Heroes United State of Mind and then the manga
[06:28] feelings at this moment. Like, there is not even a mention of United States or a play on the United States of America. But, it's like that's not even what the manga says. It's it's completely different. And then you got this. Like,
[06:43] Japanese teacher and an English teacher that you call me out desu ka. And then in the actual Crunchyroll translation, you're pointing out how I look more like you're pointing out how I look more like a I teach democracy than Japanese, yeah?
[07:03] It doesn't just stop at that. Like, manga, don't get trapped by stereotyped translation, it ain't good to judge a gun by its holster.
[07:21] Crunchyroll, just It is so insane because I want you to I okay? kind of funny, okay? But, the point here is is Crunchyroll is taking creative
[07:36] liberties to straight-up butcher the translation, the dialogue. They are not accurately translating it, which basically it you bring into question already know that they're very bad with translations, okay? I mean, the Mushoku
[07:50] other videos talking about this. But this is really bad because it's like they're adding in their own jokes and everything when it doesn't need to be there, okay? It It just keep it like how it's supposed to be. It's like
[08:04] translators, your job is to translate, not to add in your own memes and zoomer culture, and dialogue, and stuff. It just keep it like it is because it what happens. Like, you're free You
[08:18] excellently. Freedom of speech That's they're literally adding in their own stuff within the dialogue. Like, problem, no problem. That's an unproblematic no problem.
[08:38] that a teacher must wear serious proper clothes. Does it got Does the Constitution say teachers got to dress prim and proper? Like, that's not even the same dialogue. Once again, it's It's completely different.

[09:59] with ads. They have up the prices of their subscription service. Then they were merged from Right Stuf into the Crunchyroll store. So they didn't uphold just waiting with your hands in the air with whatever's going on with your order
[10:15] and money. Then they basically have [ __ ] translations continuously, and then poor where they don't even try to be transparent about it. They go out of their way to get censorship episodes. I mean, they have the whole fan mail
[10:29] debacle and stuff that happened. And then they have, you know, basically the whole like the data breach. They they got hacked, and people's debit and credit card information got out. Like what the hell? And and then, by the way,
[10:44] they got literally sued twice within the same month about this. Like different your personal data. Then, on top of that, we have the store being like hard locked. Basically, the store, you know, being
[10:59] locked behind the highest tier subscription. Them trying their best to get as many people to buy their service by putting it on a discount briefly losing a lot of subscribers. They're bleeding. They're dying as a company to
[11:12] a some degree because it's not good. They are not doing good whatsoever. And then now you got this. It's just like Dude, Crunchyroll, what is going on with you, man? Like it is just a spiral of dog
