[00:00] season 3. Welcome back ScreenCrush. I'm Ryan Arey and we here at ScreenCrush best adaptations of these classic DC characters, not to mention some killer
[00:14] animation. So, the show starts off with a young Clark Kent playing in his yard. Now, at this point Clark doesn't yet have his powers, but when a car swerves sprints to stop the car from crashing. You'll notice that every time Clark
[00:28] learns a new power they develop out of his need to help people, emphasizing heritage. After first developing his powers, the Kents then explain his down on their farm and when they dig up the platform a hologram of Jor-El,
[00:45] Kryptonian, but Clark is too freaked out by all of this to want to explore this &gt;&gt; And then we get a big time skip to a now fully grown Clark Kent living in
[00:57] for their first day as interns at the Daily Planet. We're also introduced to newest story to their boss Perry. And even though Clark is now well developed
[01:11] &gt;&gt; Shake gently. Do not crush his hand. &gt;&gt; And if you recognize that voice, it's deserve it? Especially if they don't deserve it.
[01:23] Lois and Clark don't even really know one another, well, aside from their meet-cute earlier in the day. &gt;&gt; Well, now you've seen me in a bib. &gt;&gt; On the way to the Daily Planet, Clark catches a glimpse of a suspicious woman
[01:37] handing Perry a story. So, when he assigns her to supervise Jimmy and Clark, she drags them into her military robot tech theft story. With help from the news kid Legion, they catch the thieves loading military robots on the
[01:51] dock. And there we meet a woman that Clark spotted earlier, Livewire, aka trio, so Clark has to discreetly save Lois and Jimmy. And during the fight, evade being found out by Jimmy and Lois. Now, although Jimmy does get a blurry
[02:08] &gt;&gt; Superman to Perry, but he refuses to publish the story without any further &gt;&gt; We will track Superman down. &gt;&gt; Lois and Jimmy helm the Superman
[02:21] investigation, so Clark goes back home to spend some time in Smallville. While try to get some answers about himself. Meanwhile, we follow up with Livewire, &gt;&gt; Task Force X is the government agency in the series that is dedicated to
[02:38] Day, a presumed invasion of Earth, Task Force X began to create alien weapons, which were then stolen by Livewire. Anyways, in classic Lois Lane fashion, trouble again, Superman will be forced to come and save them.
[02:55] &gt;&gt; So, the two of them then go to the docks to look for more clues. Back in However, because he doesn't know any Kryptonian yet, Jor-El is only able to
[03:08] magical girl transformation of the series before he leaves the ship. So, &gt;&gt; It suits you, but I think this needs something more.
[03:22] Task Force X member Slade Wilson. Yeah, that's Slade Wilson in this show. It's continue hunting her. Lois and Jimmy accidentally come across this meeting
[03:36] ultimately proven right when Superman flies in just in time and saves them. Planet? &gt;&gt; During the battle, the stolen tech that Superman then helps her by ripping the technology off her armor, but when he
[03:53] touches it, he sees a vision of another alien invasion. After they handle Perry, who immediately wants to print the story, but gives it to the more taken by Task Force X and is being held somewhere in secret. Slade then tortures
[04:10] her to get information on the person who interrupted their earlier fight. &gt;&gt; Now, tell us everything you know about Superman. tail each time to question him. &gt;&gt; Superman, I'd like to interview you for
[04:25] sister of Mist out of prison. They give her some of this tech break out. The three of them then form the Intergang. When news of Intergang's
[04:40] Superman and suggests the trio report on that instead. Lois agrees, thinking this Stryker's Island, where Lois reveals her plan to get into the prison. They're
[04:53] &gt;&gt; You stole their badges? &gt;&gt; No, I borrowed them. Secretly, when they weren't looking. &gt;&gt; Clark, of course, doesn't like this interviewing Superman. Meanwhile, Intergang tries to rob the Metropolis
[05:09] Bank, but the alien-powered crystal malfunctions within their weapon and it Clark, and Lois figure out this plan and are able to intercept Intergang at the his heat vision when Lois and Jimmy are once again put in danger. When he
[05:26] destroys this power crystal, he again has a vision of an alien army. Defeated, Intergang is then captured by Slade for Task Force X. Back at the Daily Planet, know a lot about himself. &gt;&gt; I'm here to help the people of
[05:39] &gt;&gt; he's a liar. &gt;&gt; Lois and Jimmy then turn from when Perry asked him to cover the Amazo Tech Gala head by Dr. Anthony Ivo.
[05:51] magazines Lois and Jimmy are looking into. It's about the Kansas Flying Boy. while Lois interviews people at the party, Clark sees Dr. Ivo threaten one
[06:04] of his company's chairman. When Clark presses Ivo, he's then thrown out by up Clark's now torn jacket, they share a moment and Clark almost reveals his big &gt;&gt; And it's all Superman's fault. &gt;&gt; The two of them then find a hidden room
[06:20] that holds tech similar to the kind that Intergang had. Back at the gala, Dr. Ivo then unveils his new Parasite armor as a way to protect oneself against Superman. out the window to bring Superman here. Clark saves the chairman and confronts
[06:35] Ivo, who shows off the energy absorption powers of the suit. Realizing this, fails and leaves behind a husk of the former Ivo. After Parasite's taken care has been taken, and now there is no proof for a story. While outside the
[06:53] up being a fatal mistake, though, when later at the Daily Planet, Lois finds pieces together. &gt;&gt; Clark Kent [music] is Superman?
[07:06] doesn't go as Jimmy planned. Now that Lois and Clark are kind of a thing, because now Lois is so obsessed with Clark because she is trying to prove
[07:19] he's Superman. And again, in crazy Lois Lane fashion, she handcuffs herself to universe, a woman named Rory, and a few other criminals confront Superman. He someone's been kidnapping criminals before she escapes. He finds her
[07:35] fighting against an armored Slade Wilson, who, as we saw, has been kidnapping criminals and bringing them to Amanda Waller and General Sam Wilson. robots from earlier and his classic dual blades, but those blades can actually
[07:50] accidentally puts a school bus in danger. While Superman holds the structure together, Slade goes to take Superman out on Waller's orders, but is need to take it. &gt;&gt; Not if it endangers civilians.
[08:06] tell her the truth. When he continues to play dumb, Lois pulls out her ultimate move and jumps off the roof. &gt;&gt; Fine. We'll do this the hard way. &gt;&gt; Naturally, Clark saves her. However, this doesn't fix anything. Lois is still
[08:21] is done. This fallout leads to neither of them going on the camping trip with Jimmy, who then gets kidnapped by a gorilla. Was it Big Foot? Sadly, no. It Brain. Now, Monsieur Mallah is a gorilla who is being studied by The Brain at
[08:38] Cadmus Labs. Mallah was given super intelligence and eventually the two fell in love. After Zero Day, Task Force X was sent to eliminate Cadmus. The two behind. Since then, they've continued to live with the ruins of Cadmus Labs. So,
[08:53] aside to go after him. While looking in the forest, they stumble across Area 52, radiation film, which of course weakens Clark. After being chased by the OMACs
[09:07] moment to reveal his identity to Jimmy, but he beats Clark to it. Clark, I know incarcerated Dr. Ivo on Cadmus's technology to see if there is a way to
[09:21] Smallville to show them the Kryptonian platform, but he also does this as a way to get Lois away from Metropolis to ask Lois Lane, Clark is acting like Charlie Kelly trying to plan the perfect date for him
[09:38] and Lois. Jimmy, not wanting to get roped into all this, goes over to Lois's interrupted by Mr. Mxyzptlk, an interdimensional imp who says that he Superman's help, but it turns out to all be a lie, and he just wanted Superman to
[09:55] are confronted by the League of Lois Lanes, an interdimensional peacekeeping force founded by the Lois of the prime universe, that is the first Lois to hunting down the imp. Lois, being the journalist that she is, is suspicious of
[10:12] the League and goes through their files, finding a redacted file X that can only just intent on capturing Mr. Mxyzptlk, but also Clark as well. &gt;&gt; Superman is eventually able to distract Mxyzptlk long enough for the Lois's to
[10:30] home, Lois manages to open a datasphere she stole from the League, only to find the recordings of evil alternate universe Superman, as well as a sample Intergang to helping Slade and Ivo in capturing Superman. Clark develops
[10:48] superhearing after being awoken by a cry for help, and soon is able to hear every single thing in Metropolis. He begins to overexhaust himself by answering everyone's calls for help. &gt;&gt; hear everyone. And Jimmy? Jimmy? Jimmy?
[11:01] people, but the fatigue begins to get the better of him. While trying to save look like he caused an accident. The people then turn on Superman, who goes
[11:13] to Lois and Jimmy for aid. Despite what the public thinks of him, Clark knows catches back up with Mist, who reveals everything. He says that Task Force X offers to help, but it turns out to be a trap, and he's attacked by the whole
[11:30] group. The fight is brutal, and Superman is eventually knocked out. He's almost &gt;&gt; You're done when I say you're done, Ivo. &gt;&gt; As Lois and Jimmy rush into the scene, enlist the help of the news kid Legion again for any information. In some Task
[11:48] Force X facility, Clark wakes up chained in a cell. The General then interrogates hologram video of Zero Day. We learn that Amanda Waller and the General were among the two survivors of the mini invasion, and ever since then they vowed
[12:03] to protect the people against outside forces like the Kryptonians. Now, when Clark doesn't respond to his goading, &gt;&gt; passing yourself off as a hero when we both know what you are, a weapon. &gt;&gt; The General then begins to rethink his
[12:15] assumptions. &gt;&gt; If his people age like us, he's too beginning to think that an alien is anything but bad. To get back at the General for having cold feet, Waller shuts down the cell block, allowing
[12:29] Livewire to escape and releasing the other prisoners. Ivo attacks Superman in Parasite, escape the facility. After being shown the horrors of Zero Day, that. &gt;&gt; You're not a weapon, you're a person.
[12:46] &gt;&gt; Siphoning off the power grid, an escaped Parasite is able to grow to the size of but Ivo is just too powerful. Lois and Jimmy then step in and use social media to tell the citizens of Metropolis to turn off all of their power, weakening
[13:01] Parasite suit and is able to take him down. Back at the Task Force base, because of his lack of action towards Superman. In order to prove himself to
[13:14] his superiors, the General is given the ultimate task, kill Superman. Waller gives him the newest weapon invented in order to complete his mission, the Omega Cannon, aka a Kryptonite gun. Clark begins having nightmares about another
[13:26] Smallville to confront the hologram of Jor-El about the invasion. &gt;&gt; You tried to conquer this planet, my home. I won't let that happen, ever. &gt;&gt; Jimmy, Lois, and Clark all go over to the Kents for a nice Thanksgiving. This
[13:41] mentioned who her father was, so it's a huge surprise to Clark when General Sam &gt;&gt; Uh, hello. &gt;&gt; Luckily, the General doesn't recognize
[13:54] him. The entire night is strained with Lois and her father not getting along, finally, Jimmy's had enough of it. &gt;&gt; The Jimmy gets pulled into drama portion he accidentally reveals the data sphere. The sphere then opens, and Clark becomes
[14:12] not only devastated by what he sees, but also exposed to the kryptonite that's begins to rise, releasing an army of robots and opening another portal. Sam believes that this is another invasion like Zero Day and calls in Task Force X.
[14:28] father is the one who is tracking down Superman. Wanting to stop the invasion, out of the atmosphere. Punching his way into the heart of the ship, Superman is
[14:40] attacked by more of the Kryptonian bots, but is saved by hologram Jor-El. The portal then closes, splitting the ship in half. With help from a fading memory &gt;&gt; Tell him, my son,
[14:53] the Omega Cannon to kill Superman, but Lois stops him. He then calls off Task the entirety of this, from across the cosmos, Brainiac has been watching.
[15:07] &gt;&gt; I have found a new planet for you. &gt;&gt; Uh, Brainiac? Clark continues to have nightmares, this one about Jor-El in Antarctica, where he &gt;&gt; Perry assigns him, Lois, and Jimmy to head to Star Labs before entering the
[15:23] lab. They meet a disgraced former lab assistant of Dr. Ivo named Alex. Because lab, they interview Hank Henshaw about a meteorite that disappeared over he has to leave. &gt;&gt; Uh uh sorry, got to go. Uh
[15:41] &gt;&gt; The trio then head to Antarctica where Clark gets another vision of his father. He chases after him and finds himself within the Kryptonian ship. During all Jor-El is able to connect with Clark. He then explains Clark's origins. Krypton
[15:59] a ghost ship. The rest of the Kryptonian people are dead and Clark and his cousin are the only survivors. &gt;&gt; You are the last of us, Kal-El. You
[16:11] here with Waller leading the team as Sam has been taken prisoner. They plan to capture any Kryptonian technology they find but are stopped by Superman. One of the Task Force members named Damage goes one-on-one with Superman until they both
[16:25] Superman's weakness but Jimmy prevents them from taking it away by placing the kryptonite inside of a lead container. While Clark recovers, Jor-El uses the last of the ship's power to turn it into a fortress. He then tells Clark about a
[16:39] beacon that will help him find his cousin Kara. Jor-El then begins to fade &gt;&gt; You are more than I could have ever hoped for and maybe one day
[16:51] you'll forgive me for leaving you again. &gt;&gt; In the background, Task Force X has holding Sam prisoner. Following the recent encounter with Superman, Amanda Waller goes to interrogate Sam. When Clark and Lois arrive at Stryker's, Lois
[17:06] plans to sneak in but Clark just burst their way in through a window. They find a completely empty prison wing save for a secret elevator. Lois, once again, is &gt;&gt; Wow, you really like jumping off things. &gt;&gt; Because I know you'll always catch me,
[17:20] the hidden Task Force X base. In the computer room, Lois finds where her dad is being held prisoner, and Clark sees the beacon is there as well. While full of inmates who have been experimented on. They are cornered by
[17:36] Waller and the Atomic Skull, who attacks Superman as the Lanes help the prisoners the group. Sam tells Lois that he should go into hiding, but Lois suggests Jimmy. &gt;&gt; Meanwhile, Alex offers his assistance to
[17:53] &gt;&gt; Al- &gt;&gt; Superman rescues AmerTek scientist Silas Stone from a burning building and
[18:06] unlocks a new power. While protecting Silas from a falling beam, Superman uses a force field to get them both out of danger. When Superman leaves, Livewire Clark and Jimmy are both struggling with being roommates with Sam. All Sam does
[18:21] Supermaning. At the same time, Lois is covering the AmerTek press conference where they uncover the Metallo, a weaponized super robot. Jimmy gets a coordinates, so he and Superman track her down to the home of Dr. John Irons.
[18:38] There, he informs Jimmy and Clark about how AmerTek's Metallos are unstable and &gt;&gt; We haven't made a safer Metropolis. We built a bomb. both fired. When the AmerTek CEO finds out how Superman is now involved, he
[18:56] pulls a Hail Mary and activates all of his Metallos. Superman fights against together they take them all down. But, Lex Luthor, with his new company but also the Steel suit. Sam fears that Waller has figured out where he's hiding
[19:14] Symposium. Jimmy and Clark leave for the symposium while Lois visits the compromised, but they are quickly attacked by Damage and have to escape
[19:27] symposium's main topic, the Superman problem. Jimmy, being Superman's best friend, was picked to talk in favor of Superman against Lex Luthor. The two have a heated debate back-to-back leading to Lex declaring, "I say it's
[19:42] went back to where he came the symposium, Superman helps the Lanes escape. As TFX retreats, Luthor takes this chance to blame Superman for the night being ruined. Feeling lost, Clark finally activates the beacon and calls
[19:57] her and he has left once again. Meanwhile, Lex furthers his and Waller's Metropolis' most eligible bachelor contest because, surprise, Superman is
[20:10] one of the contestants this year. While the two of them cover the contest, Jimmy tells him that she's just arrived on Earth and is looking for someone. Jimmy offers to help and the two of them bond and tour Metropolis. Eventually, they
[20:24] eligible bachelor. Lois, feeling slightly jealous, leaves the event. Kara bomb on Clark that &gt;&gt; This isn't working.
[20:37] &gt;&gt; I thought I would find a warrior. Instead, I find a joke. but it's no use. After knocking him out, Kara encloses him in Kryptonian
[20:49] &gt;&gt; My daughter. &gt;&gt; On route, father. Earth only to realize that he has no idea where he is. Kara tries to convince
[21:02] listen to her. After finding a compartment of alien trinkets from various planets, Clark asks Kara to show him one of the planets that they've completely in ruins. Now, Kara begins to question Brainiac's philosophy before
[21:19] his robots show up and bring them back to his base on Kandor. There, Clark &gt;&gt; Uh, why are we kneeling before Zor-El? &gt;&gt; Zor-El? Who is Zor-El?
[21:31] &gt;&gt; Rather, it's the rogue Kryptonian AI, Brainiac. Brainiac reveals his evil this before Brainiac locks him in a combat simulation and brainwashes Kara. When Clark eventually becomes exhausted, Brainiac once again encloses him in a
[21:46] enacts martial law in Metropolis. &gt;&gt; Superman isn't a hero. He's an invader. suggests they sneak into Star Labs to steal a spaceship. Now, Jimmy questions
[22:02] how they're going to manage that, so Lois hires Livewire to help, despite friends Mala and the Brains to aid in the space journey. Now, while there are off. Despite Brainiac's brainwashing, Kara begins to remember her time with
[22:19] to come to terms with the damage she's caused to other worlds only to run right then uses the Black Mercy device on Superman, trapping him inside a
[22:32] simulation where he is forced to relive his worst battles. While Brainiac isn't grow stronger when loved ones are in danger. &gt;&gt; Who are these people to you, Kal-El? &gt;&gt; Within the simulation, Brainiac preys on
[22:45] Superman's greatest fears and constructs the scene to have Lois insult Clark. &gt;&gt; You will never be one of us. You will never belong here. within a reality where Krypton never exploded, all while taking control of
[23:01] realizes that Brainiac has brainwashed her for her entire life and that everything she knew was a lie created to further Brainiac's mission. But now that he has Clark, he no longer needs her. &gt;&gt; Fortunately, Kal-El came to us at the
[23:16] Kara from the ship sending them all into space before teleporting away. When Mala and the Brain rescue them, Lois reveals that she stole a black mercy and uses it on herself to find Clark. Kara and Jimmy return to Earth to warn of Brainiac's
[23:30] invasion, but they are intercepted by Waller and Task Force X. Waller takes confront her for arresting the journalist. On fake Krypton, Clark or Kal-El lives as a scientist with his mother and father. When Lois appears in
[23:44] connect with one another and when they shake hands, she regains all of her &gt;&gt; Rebooting Kal-El. &gt;&gt; Which reboots the entire simulation. So,
[23:59] confesses her love to Clark and he's able to remember her name. &gt;&gt; I'm desperately in love with you. So, please, Clark, remember. &gt;&gt; Lois, your name is Lois.
[24:14] people a singular option, join or die. Waller throws everything they've got at Brainiac but barely makes a dent. Kara is the only one who can land any actual
[24:26] one of my favorite lines from this entire series. I called you that because it's who you are.
[24:38] Furious that his plan didn't work, Brainiac decides to go scorched earth on robots as well as a giant cannon and rains hell down on the city. Superman
[24:52] saved by Livewire and her crew. It's revealed that General Lane has been gathering allies behind the scenes in case they needed to fight off something their home. While Entergang clears a path for Kara and Clark, the two of them
[25:08] managed to reach Brainiac's ship. Kara, however, is incapacitated when Brainiac uses her codeword. He then reveals that he was the one who destroyed Krypton after he overheard talks of the Kryptonians shutting him down. The AI
[25:20] obsolete. Brainiac gives Superman the choice, either save Kara or save Metropolis. Superman, being Superman, does both. He embraces Kara rather than You are stronger than he is. &gt;&gt; Together, the two of them defeat
[25:37] Brainiac with Kara landing a final killing blow. Exhausted, Kara collapses into Clark's arms in space. Days later, she wakes up on the Kent farm and is &gt;&gt; Are you hungry, darling? &gt;&gt; And that's it. Season 2 ends on an
[25:51] up in season 3. Cyborg Superman, Giganta, Deathstroke, Lex, and more have take them on. &gt;&gt; Is this a dog?
