and have your own Shopify store up and running Don't worry if you've never done this before, and I promise you that setting up your own Shopify store
Now, the first thing we're going to do which gives you three days free, for just $1 per month.

And here, on the next step, Now, you could actually just click on Skip however, keep in mind

I'm gonna enter my payment details right now And here, we can go ahead and choose our Shopify plan.
is that, the higher the plan, for every sale that you make on your store. with the Basic plan right here,
you can always upgrade to one of the higher plans. And here you wanna simply enter your business address, you can also enter your personal address,
And then here Shopify wants to ask you some questions however, it doesn't really make any changes so let's save some time and click on Skip
And this takes us into the Shopify dashboard, Here on the right side, that you can ask questions at any time.
I recommend just following along with the tutorial, we're just gonna close this AI assistant right here. is choose a theme for our store.
let's come over here and click on Online Store And here we can see that the default theme that is currently installed is the Horizon theme.
And to find those, and click on Visit Theme Store. with all of the available themes for Shopify.
let's tick the Free filter right here, that you can choose from. just click on this theme right here,
Here, you can just browse through this demo store, or go to product pages. You can also check out how it looks on mobile devices.
you can just click On Try Theme right here, and then this theme will be installed on your Shopify store. As you can see, we are now back in our Shopify dashboard,
has been successfully added. Now, to activate this new theme for our store, we're gonna have to click on Publish, and then confirm.
has been switched from the default Horizon theme Now, if you didn't find any theme that you liked,
and try Shopify's new AI tool So here, just enter a keyword or a phrase,
and then click on Generate themes. you'll get three different custom-made themes Now, personally, I like the pre-made themes a bit more
so I'm not gonna choose any of these. is actually switch back to the Horizon theme, because I think this one works for pretty much any store,
and it's also one of the most used ones on Shopify, like, for example, the ability to create custom sections using AI.
let's click on Publish right here, and confirm. now that we have chosen our theme for the store, let's go ahead and look at how to customise our store.
and this will open up the Shopify store editor. we can basically see a preview of our online store.
I'm gonna show you exactly how to replace all that Now, currently, we are on the homepage, and we can also navigate to other pages by coming up here
When we come up here to the top-right, So, currently, we are on desktop view, to see what our store looks like on mobile devices.
that your store is optimised for mobile as well, actually shop on their mobile phone However, we're gonna make sure
and Shopify does a great job optimising everything But we can make sure to check the mobile view at any time we can see a structure overview
So, every page on your store which is all the way here at the top, the menu, and the shopping card icon, and stuff like that.
so this would be the top banner right here. And then, all the way at the bottom, we have the footer.
and then some terms and policy links, So now let's look at how to customise and really make it our own.
on the homepage So, to do that, we can either just click on this background or we can also just come over here
because this is the exact same section Now, to add an image to this section, that I want to use into this field right here.
the background will be automatically replaced Now I also wanna add a second image to my hero section, so I'm gonna drag in my second image to this field here.
on the right side of the hero section. So here on the left side, I can simply click on any of them
and what I like the best. from Medium to Large. And this will simply increase the size of this hero section.
into this centre of this section. and change it from Bottom to Centre. So, again, I can simply click on the text,
will open up here on the left side, that I want to replace it with. for the button here below the text,
and then make any changes that we want Now, the next thing I wanna do is add my logo to the top-left of my store.
here at the top-left, and then go to Logo and favicon. Then I can simply drag and drop my logo Now I wanna decrease the size of this logo just a bit,
so I'm gonna decrease the height from 36 to 30 pixels. is add the favicon as well, which is basically a square version of your logo.
you're gonna see it all the way at the top of your browser So let's click on Save. and click on View to see a preview of our store.
right here at the top of the browser. is change the layout of my header
instead of all the way here on the left. I'm gonna go back to the overview for our sections And then here, under Logo, Position,
And I like the way that looks a lot better. by clicking on Save here at the top-right.
we can see this featured collection Now, we actually want our own products to be displayed here, we have to add them to our Shopify store,
So, to add our products, To get back to our dashboard, let's come over here to the top-left and click on Exit.
And this will take us back to our Shopify dashboard. let's head over to Products, here on the left side.
And then to add our first product, let's click Add product. for the product that we want to add, and then below
And if you don't know how to describe your product, you can make use of the AI feature from Shopify Now, below that, we wanna add some images for our product,
so I'm just gonna drag and drop a few images in here. that show your product in the best light. and decide which image should be shown first.
we wanna set the price for this product. Something else we can do here is add a Compare at price, saying that this product used to be more expensive
and is now discounted to $49. we can enter how many of these shirts Now, whenever we sell one of these products,
and when it hits zero, If you want to continue selling when out of stock, to turn "Continue selling when out of stock" on,
when you get new products back in stock. you can add the weight for the product, to kind of charge shipping rates based on weight or volume.
so I'm not gonna enter any of these details here. you can add different sizes or different colours and you can also set different prices
or for different colours for your products. Then down here, you have some more options, and you can also change how this product will be found
Now I'm gonna leave everything as it is Now our first product has been added to our store, we should be able to see our product right here.
to our demo store, into different collections. let's come over here and click on Collections.
Now, I don't need this one, and then go to the three dots And confirm.
And the first collection I'm gonna create is called Shirts, So, the title will be Shirts.
so let's drag and drop in my collection image to this field. Now, the collection type I'm gonna keep at manual
so I can manually add my products into this collection. and click on Browse here under Products, that I've added before.
And that's it. And then, when we go back to Collections, and we have four products in this collection.
and click on Add collection once again, So I just went ahead and added a few more collections
and I've also added a New Arrivals collection that I wanna feature directly on the homepage. on our online store.
and then click on Edit theme And here, when we scroll down, that were here before have been replaced with our products
instead of have these random products on the homepage, that I have just set up. by hovering over the Featured collection section,
And now I'm gonna add a collection list. let's click on Add section right here, I'm gonna scroll down to the collections,
And this will insert this collection list So first, let's choose the collections
we want to display here by clicking on this collection list, and then choose the collections we want to display. the sweaters, and the jackets.
and also display the collection name here on the top-left. Visitors can now just click into any of these collections to get to the collection page that they have clicked on.
to the default collection page here, so let's go back to the homepage. "Shop by collection,"
and then clicking on the trash icon. Next, I would like to feature a few special products I've already added my New Arrivals collection,
so what I'm gonna do now is add a featured collection So let's click on Add section again, right here on the left, and this time, let's scroll down to Products.
is choose the Featured collection: Carousel. So let's head over to this featured collection,
and then choose the New Arrivals collection. will be displayed right here on the homepage, by clicking on this arrow right here to see more products.
and then go back to the section overview. We have this hero section at the top,
and then we have some featured products below. and add even more sections to our homepage. and then check out all the different ways
or even just add some text to our homepage, or FAQs, So, take some time to go through these, Now if for some reason
you can actually create it yourself Let's click on Add section, let's click on Generate right here.
describing what type of layout we want Shopify to create. and then click on this arrow. to code this new section.
Shopify has created a custom section So here we have this image I asked for on the left, And we also got the options to customise this section
just as we would any other sections on our store. and then it will be displayed here once it's uploaded.
to have the image fill the frame And I don't have the option here right now, is go back to this prompts box here at the top
that lets me change the image style to fill frame, if Shopify is able to handle that request. we get the new option here.
we can actually change from Fit image to Fill frame. So now when I upload this image here, and I think that looks a lot better.
So far, we have just spent time customising our homepage, For example, let's head over to our default product page and then clicking Products, Default product.
for all of our products right now. here on the left side, and below, we have some recommended products.
by simply clicking on the section you want to customise You can also add new sections by clicking Add section,
However, I usually like the way Shopify has set up all the other pages automatically, on customising every single page on the store.
which is the great thing about using Shopify. So let's go ahead and navigate back to our homepage. at how to change the colours on your store.
So let's say we want to change the colours what we can do is simply click into this section, we can scroll down and look for Colour scheme.
which makes the background white and the text black. But we can also change it to this Scheme 5, for example, Or we could choose theme Scheme 4,
Now, usually, I think the default scheme looks the best, And we can actually by going up here and clicking on the gear icon
before we have set up our logo here at the top, and then we can see the palette So for example,
in the background for the Scheme 4, we could just choose another colour if we want to. that you want to use on your store,
or even add a completely new colour scheme And if you want to change the font on your store, by going to Typography,
the subheadings, headings, and so on, by just choosing the font you want right here. is go ahead and look at all the other options here.
because, again, it's usually optimised already, but something I like to go to sometimes is Animations, like for example, you can add a card hover effect.
and then when we save our changes, and go to view our store,
it zooms in just a little bit, So there's some subtle small things you can do and add to your store to make everything look a bit cooler.
how to customise our navigation menu, So to do that, let's click on it right here, and then click Edit.
to Content, and then Menus. Now I wanna just add my collections in the top navigation,
so first I'm gonna delete all of these default menu items, that I want to have in the navigation. and then I'll click in the Link box here,
and then I'll start with the Shirts, and click check. until all of my collections I want to add
And once all our menu items are added, And then, to check out how this looks, and then click on this eye icon to preview our store.
to our collections, and it will go directly to the collection page. Now, if your store has subcategories,
then it might make sense to structure your navigation menu I've just set up a Men and Women's collection, and what I can do now is drag the Shirts collection
under the Men's category, or the Men's menu item, like this. And then once I save this new structure, we have a different setup,
and then when you hover over it, and this is a very cool way to keep your menu organised.
and go back to our store editor. Now let's finish up the front end of our Shopify store Now, again, the header is always here
and the footer is always here at the bottom. but we also see this announcement bar here at the top. So this is where you can add any promo coupon codes,
when they land on your store. you can also just delete the entire announcement bar or you can just change the text by coming here
like give a discount code or something like that. again, just click on the trash icon here, and then this announcement bar will be disabled.
Here, we currently have an email signup section, and then we have a link to all of our policies,
The first thing I wanna do here I think that looks a bit unprofessional. and then turn off Show "Powered by Shopify" here.
by clicking on these icons here on the bottom-right. simply enter your own social media links.
then these links should go directly If you don't have any of these, simply click on this x right here to delete them,
And now the last thing we want to do in the footer with your store name, So let's save our changes,
and go to our Shopify dashboard, And then here, in the General tab, under Store details, and then enter our store name right here.
close out of this, and go back to our store editor. we can see our store name here in the bottom.
is set up all of your store policies. terms of service, and so on. will be displayed here in the footer as well.
and hover over this part of the footer, will be displayed right here. but now I'm gonna show you
To do that, let's go back to this tab right here, From here, let's go to Settings, all the way here at the bottom.
Let's start with the return and refund policy. is that they already have a template
so we can simply click on Insert template right here, that you would add to a return and refund policy The only thing you have to do is read through this
and make sure everything applies to your store as well, where you have to enter your own information. and then this page has already been set up.
so let's go to Terms of service. and then just replace all of the information with our own
Then for the shipping policy, so you're gonna have to write that on your own, to write that for you, something like this,
And then lastly, we have contact information. or enter all of your own information manually, And that's pretty much it.
reload the page, when we hover over it, and we can click on these links,
Okay so, let's close this and then go back to our Shopify dashboard. but there is a few very important backend store settings
so that everything works correctly when somebody buys something on our store. and then here, the first thing you want to do
all of the information here is correct. your currency, and also your default units. And here what you wanna do
and this will enable you to connect your bank account when somebody buys something on your store. with all of the common options like credit card,
Make sure when you do this like a driver's licence or a passport, Now, if you want to give customers
that are not included with Shopify payments, by clicking on Add payment method right here. to be able to pay with cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin,
and then click on it, on how you would be able Also, keep in mind that not all payment options
so depending on where you are located, Now the next very important thing we have to look at So, let's go to shipping and delivery here,
which is what you're gonna charge your customer Now, this can get a bit complicated, but just bear with me,
So right here we can see that we have a profile which means you can set up different profiles and just keep one profile for all products.
and then, right here, And when we scroll down, so, the places where we ship to,
and the rates that we charge to ship to these places. to the United States, based on the weight of the product.
that says $50 and up is gonna be free shipping. how you can set up your shipping rates manually.
by clicking on the three dots right here And then, to add a new shipping zone, and then choose the regions you wanna set up your rates for.
so I'm just gonna type in US right here, with 62 states. And now I have my shipping zone here at the bottom.
is set up my rates for this shipping zone. we can set a flat rate, based on different things like the weight, the volume,
I'm gonna keep things simple and just use the flat rate. we can set up the type of shipping we wanna offer, and then I'm gonna set the price to, let's say $6,
And then we can set up another shipping rate And this time, I'm gonna set up an express rate, which is one to two business days for, let's say $15,
And now when people are from the U.S. order from our store, and these other prices right here. And then the next important thing
we quickly have to talk about is taxes and duties. it's basically where we can set up the sales tax Now, the sales tax that you have to charge
including where you are located so it's a good idea to consult to figure out what laws apply to your specific situation.
is the Shopify tax services that you're gonna have to charge for every product So I highly recommend
to make use of this feature right here. Next, let's go ahead and click on domains. the website address that people have to type in
which, obviously, is not ideal. something like rogueapparel.com,
Now, if you already have your domain, or if you don't have a domain yet, type in the domain that you want to use for your store
you can click on Buy right here, and this domain will basically cost you $16 per year, it'll automatically be connected to your store
And that's it for the most important settings so let's close out of this So now let's go ahead and publish our store
Let's go to Online Store right here, you can see that our store is currently password-protected, to make this store available.
