# Why Most YouTube Channels Never Make Money

> Source: [Why Most YouTube Channels Never Make Money](https://youtube.com/watch?v=FKvdJkENUSs)

## Summary

This video presents a three-step framework called the YouTube Business Bridge to help creators monetize their channels. The speaker argues that most channels fail to make money because they focus on the wrong metrics and lack a proper sales system.

### Key Points

- **The Island of Unhappy** [00:15] — Many business owners feel stuck: getting views but not enough sales or impact. The solution is the YouTube Business Bridge framework.
- **V for Views: Right vs. Wrong** [00:43] — Not all views are equal. The better question is 'How do I get the right views?' Going viral with the wrong audience can backfire.
- **L for Leads** [01:12] — Leads: Where are you sending viewers after they watch your videos? If nowhere, that's a problem.
- **S for Sales System** [01:26] — Sales: What is your offer? Is it packaged well? Is the technical infrastructure for sales working?
- **Common Misdiagnosis** [01:57] — Clients often misidentify which step needs fixing. They think it's a views problem but it's actually a messaging, lead, or offer problem.

### Conclusion

To make money on YouTube, focus on getting the right views, building a lead capture system, and having a solid sales infrastructure. Avoid misdiagnosing which part of your funnel is broken.

## Transcript

right now, these are the three things that you can do immediately to fix it. So, we just finished up a workshop with 125 business owners talking about how to get off the island of unhappy. You know what that feels like? You're not getting
money. But this is the three-step framework to get to the island of happy where the views are coming in, but also the sales and ultimately the impact that you want to make with your business. So, if you hired us to fix your YouTube
channel, we'd go through what we call the YouTube business bridge. And it's really three steps. And the first one is V. And it stands for views. And there's two questions you could ask right here. First of all is how do I get views on
YouTube? But the better question is, how do I get the right views? What most people don't realize is not all views are created equal. And sometimes going viral can actually backfire. Because if you especially have a product or a
service, being seen by a million people who would never end up being your customer is actually not that helpful. And so what we want to design and fix if your YouTube business bridge is broken is am I getting the right views? But
number two is L and that stands for leads. And this is a question of where are you sending people once they see your YouTube videos? If your answer is I'm not really sending them anywhere, then that's the problem. we diagnose.
And here's the third piece, S. And S stands for sales and specifically sales system. This prompts us to ask, what is your offer? And is it packaged and presented well? And is the technical and infrastructure side of your sales system
set up and working? And so we've discovered that really the biggest mistake our clients make when it comes to this framework is trying to identify actually which step they need to fix next. And typically their answer is
wrong. Like they think they have a views problem when really they've got a messaging problem or an offer problem or there's not even a lot of views coming in. But if they were doing the right things with those views and fixing the
leads piece and the sales piece, then that would change everything. And if vertical video series, then [music] keep following along for more content like this during our 21-day YouTube reset. I'll [music] see you in the next video.
