- Laziness is a skill like tricking your partner into holding an empty cup of coffee, training your dog to fetch a cold beer, or this brilliant son of a bitch. But for those times when laziness just won't get the job done, here are three things that will help you get inspired to take action. Number one, change your physical state. Whether it's taking a cold shower, going for a run or hitting the gym, when you force yourself to change your state, your mood will follow along. Two, change up your routine. Go to a different cafe, find a different route to work, jump on a moving freight train and see where it takes you. Don't do that. Adding novelty to your day can help you shift your perspective and get you feeling excited again. And three, get inspired. Sometimes all you need is to watch a moving film, take in a work of art, or even listen to Bohemian Rhapsody. When we consume art that inspires us, it motivates us to take action.
