# La Verdad Oculta de MyInvestor (Lo que No te Cuentan)

## Summary

This video exposes the hidden disadvantages of MyInvestor, one of Spain's most popular investment platforms. While the platform offers low fees and is regulated by the Banco de España and CNMV, the creator reveals seven issues — from minimum commissions and lack of fractional shares to account rate drops and platform instability — that most users only discover after signing up.

### Key Points

- **Hidden 3€ minimum commission on stocks/ETFs** [01:12] — MyInvestor advertises 0.12% commission on stocks and ETFs, but there's a 3€ minimum per operation. For a 100€ monthly investment, that's effectively 3% — very high. For 3,000€ it's only 0.12% (3.60€), which is excellent. The problem multiplies when diversifying across 4 funds (S&P 500, Europe, Asia, emerging markets): 4 operations × 3€ = 12€ on a 400€ monthly investment.
- **Index funds: zero MyInvestor fees, but watch the managed ones** [03:37] — MyInvestor charges no custody, purchase, transfer, or redemption fees on third-party index funds (Vanguard, iShares, etc.). However, funds managed directly by MyInvestor carry 0.30% management + 0.30% administration = 0.59-0.60% annual, which the creator sees no reason to choose when standard MSCI World or S&P 500 funds are available.
- **No fractional shares for stocks or ETFs** [04:57] — You can only buy whole shares. If Apple trades at 270€, you can't buy half a share for 135€. The app forces whole units. This contrasts with Trade Republic, which allows buying from 1€ via fractional shares — a major advantage for small investors wanting diversification.
- **No cryptocurrency support** [07:03] — MyInvestor offers no crypto assets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) and doesn't appear to have short-term plans to add them. Users wanting crypto exposure need a separate platform.
- **Remunerated account rate drops after year one** [07:33] — The account pays 0.75% TAE the first year with no conditions. After that it falls to 0.30% unless you invest 300€/month in MyInvestor products (then higher tiers: 600€/month → 1.5%, 900€/month → 2%). Trade Republic offers 2% TAE with no conditions from the first euro.
- **Platform stability and support complaints** [08:30] — Trustpilot rating is 3.4/5. Common complaints: web pages not loading, app blocking, inability to execute trades when needed. The creator himself experienced loading issues while recording. Support complaints include long wait times and generic responses, though the creator's personal phone call experience was positive.
- **Less intuitive interface than competitors** [12:12] — Each product type lives in a separate section, navigation feels less fluid than modern apps like Trade Republic. Not a direct cost, but adds friction — though it's a matter of taste and a short learning curve.
- **Final verdict: still a great platform despite flaws** [13:02] — Commissions are far lower than traditional banks (Santander, BBVA, ING). MyInvestor uniquely offers both automated portfolios (robo-advisor style) and self-directed investing in the same place — a combination few competitors match.

### Conclusion

MyInvestor remains a solid, low-cost choice for long-term Spanish investors, but its hidden minimum commissions, lack of fractional shares, and post-first-year rate drop make it less ideal for small monthly contributions. Knowing these trade-offs upfront lets you decide whether MyInvestor or an alternative like Trade Republic fits your strategy better.

thinking about opening an account, there are several things you probably don't know, and some of them aren't exactly good. Because although it seems like an easy and convenient way to invest from Spain, the reality is that there are details that
may be affecting your money without you knowing it. In this video, I'm going to show you the main disadvantages of My Investor, which obviously also has many advantages, but in this video, I'm going to cover things that nobody tells you when you open an
account. By the end of this video, you'll have a much clearer understanding—that's my goal—of whether Investor is right for you or if you should consider other options. My Investor has become one of the
most popular investment platforms in Spain, and deservedly so. It has many good things. Many people use it to invest in index funds, stocks, ETFs, pension plans, as well as thinking long- term, not so much for trading
or keeping their money in a high- yield account, and that makes sense. It's Spanish, regulated by the Bank of Spain and the CNMV, and the feeling is that everything is very convenient and with low fees, but there are things that aren't explained well, so
there are things that aren't explained well, so let's look at them one by one. The minimum commission on stocks that nobody tells you about. Let's start with something that people don't discover until they're already in it . On their website we can see the
commissions for stocks and ETFs, then we go for the index funds and see that they are 0.12% for both stocks and ETFs, which seems pretty good, and ETFs, which seems pretty good, right? And that's correct, except they
have a minimum of €3 and this is what many people don't see or don't know until they're already inside. If you were going to start investing with a contribution of €100 or €200 per month, then €3 is a very high commission; it's 3% of €100. On the
other hand, if you're going to invest €3,000 in a product, then the commission would be 0.12% (€ 3.60), which is superb, but keep in mind that it's per transaction, not on your entire investment. I
mean, if you're going to invest in a diversified MSFW or SP500 ETF, if it's just one and you're going to invest €3,000 then you're in great shape in terms of fees, only 0.12%. If you were only going to invest €100 or €200, they
charge you €3, which is a lot. Now, if you don't want to have a single product like the MSC World, which is great, but you want to plan a little better for taxes, as we do in my community, where it's divided into the
US S&P 500, Europe, Asia, and emerging markets, then tomorrow, or 20 years from now, when you want to sell, you can sell first what has grown the least, what has less capital gain, and thus you pay less tax
. a tax advantage and if you wanted to invest €3,000 as an example, it's not just one operation, but four in each of these funds. Therefore, in each of these funds. Therefore,
you want to invest a more normal amount per month of €400, which is not bad at all, you would have to do 100, 100, 100 and 100, so you pay €3 €3 €3 and €3 which is a lot. So I think this point is very important for
people to know before they start investing with My Investor: its minimum commissions and how much you're going to invest, or how you're going to do it, whether it's just one investment product or several, because this is the kind of
thing they don't put in front of you when you open the account; it's in the fine print, so to speak, and nobody highlights it for you. Even I'm in this video. And this was regarding stocks and ETFs. But what about index funds?
also see on the web, specifically in funds, right?, in stocks and ETFs, that it has zero added fees. So, there is something and it's normal, obviously it's what the manager of that index fund, for example,
Vanguard, Amundi, charges for operating the money through their fund, but My Investor does not charge any custody, purchase, transfer, redemption, or change of distributor fees. However, if you choose
an index fund that is managed directly by My Investor, which are these here, then you do have commissions of 0.30% commission and management making a total of 0.60.59%
annually. But I honestly don't see why you should or would feel obligated or attracted to investing in one of these in particular. It might work for someone, it already have available, the typical ones from an MSC World or Aqui or one from the
United States like SP500, Europe, emerging countries, blah blah blah, with that you're long-term investing. I don't think you need these. So, as far as these. So, as far as index funds and their fees are concerned, great.
index funds, here's the next bad thing. This point is important, especially if you're starting with little capital, which is often the case for many. At My Investor you cannot buy fractional shares or
ETFs, you can only buy whole shares like in a traditional broker. This means that if a share of Amazon costs around €200, or Tesla, or any company that trades at a high price on the stock exchange, you either have the
full amount to buy that entire share, the €200, or you can't buy it. You can't €200, or you can't buy it. You can't buy half a share of Apple for €100 if it's worth €200. Let me show you with an example. I'm here at My Investor,
Apple stock is currently trading at €270. If I click "buy," and you see, here in the "shares" section, I can buy one Apple share, two Apple shares,
three shares, however many I want, but not 0.5 shares. Look, I can enter 0.5 shares. Look, I can enter one share, and it tells me, "Okay, one costs €270." because every month I make an automatic transfer to invest
in other videos and in my investment community. Sorry, I didn't see this account, share, I can buy two, but if I enter 0.5 shares, it doesn't let me; it just sets me to one. That's because I can't buy
fractional shares or ETFs on My Investor , only fractional shares of index funds. This contrasts sharply with another popular option in Spain, Trade Republic, where you can buy any share, ETF, or index fund from €1
by purchasing fractional shares, which allows you to diversify your portfolio even with small amounts from day one. If you have a very large amount of capital, then you can... Do n't let this bother you too much. There
mentioning because it's a very common question. My Investor doesn't offer cryptocurrencies, none at all. If you're interested in investing in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or any other crypto asset, you have to go to another platform. It's not something they
offer, nor does it seem to be in their short-term plans. So, if you also case, you already need a separate platform if you want to use separate platform if you want to use My Investor. Of course,
want to explain clearly because there's a lot of confusion surrounding it. When you open a My Investor account, the interest-bearing account gives you a 0.75% APR for the first year with no conditions, without having to do anything. Okay. And
this number might change by the time you're watching the video . The problem comes later. After that first year, the return drops to 0.30% APR if you don't meet the conditions. And to maintain a higher return, My Investor requires you to
invest at least €300 per month in their own products, their portfolios, their funds, their pension plans. If you invest €600 a month, you reach 1.5%.
And if you invest €900 a month, you reach 2%. Comparisons are odious, but look, if Trade Republic is giving us a 2% APR savings account with no conditions from the first euro, without requiring you to invest anything in
any product, then it's clear that My Investor doesn't have the best Investor doesn't have the best savings account. My Investor review or at the TrustPilot website, where they have a
3.4 out of 5 rating, you'll see that many people complain about the same thing. Problems trading, users trying to make a buy or sell and the website won't load, the app freezes, or they simply ca n't execute the trade when they
want. And this is a serious flaw for a broker, because the day the market moves and you want to do something, you need the platform to isolated incidents and that they are working on improving it. Maybe it is.
I believe it, but the volume of complaints about this is high. In fact, I even which I'll show you in a screenshot. Right now, look, I'm going to explore, I'm going to the investment section to look for an
investment fund. You can see that I click on it and it doesn't take me anywhere. If I click on YTFs stocks, well, right now that doesn't work either. Sometimes I have to refresh the page. Hold on, I'll do that. It asks me to log back
in. Well, this might be normal for your security. Okay, I explore again. I go to investment. Investment funds. Now it works. I'm going to click
invest and notice that it doesn't load any fund products, when normally several appear, or you can type something like W, MSC World, SP500, whatever, and they come up, but right now none of them appear, so I ca
n't trade right now. Wow, what a coincidence, right? And if you have problems, you'll want to ask their support, right? So here's the support, right? So here's the next negative point.
Of course, the most frequent complaints are, "Oh, wait, wait, the My Investor website just loaded on its own and now it's finally showing me products," but you see, you can't always get it right. Sorry, that was a digression.
Let's continue with this point about their support. I was saying that the most frequent complaints are long waiting times, difficulty contacting someone, and generic responses that don't solve any specific problem you might have. Now
, to be fair, this is something that happens to practically all digital investment platforms. When you have hundreds of thousands of clients and everything is online, support becomes a
huge bottleneck, both for My Investor and T Republic, Revolute, and many other platforms. They also don't have a physical office or a personal manager you can call or visit. Everything is digital, and if you have a
serious problem, you depend entirely on this online support, which, as you can see, isn't their strong point. This may or may not be a problem depending on the situation. It depends on your own investor preferences, but I wanted you to be aware of it . This is about their poor
support, what people say online, the complaints you can see on official websites like Trustpilot. In their defense, I recently had a pension plan; it wouldn't let me complete the last step. What happened was that
a phone number appeared, I called, someone answered , and the person was incredibly helpful and resolved the issue immediately . So, in my personal opinion, the support worked perfectly. I do n't know, I'll leave it up to you to gather
n't know, I'll leave it up to you to gather information from various sources. than other apps. Finally, something that isn't serious, but is something I notice a lot
when comparing platforms—which I do a lot in my videos on my YouTube channel—is that the user experience in My Investor isn't as smooth as in other apps. Each type of product is in a different section. The navigation
isn't very intuitive, and if you're coming from simpler, more modern apps, you might find it a bit overwhelming. You might feel there's more friction. It's not something that will directly cost you money, but it does affect your day-to- day experience. And if you're someone who wants to
start investing and wants something that feels easy and clear, this is something to consider. It also comes down to personal preference, or there might be learning curve, and after, I don't know, a week of knowing where everything is, you're all
set, so to speak. And that's all the points I wanted to cover, but here's something I think is important to mention. Despite everything I've discussed in this video and its drawbacks, I still
believe My Investor is a great investment platform in Spain. The fees are much, much lower than any traditional bank, like Banco than any traditional bank, like Banco Santander, BBVA, or ING. And that alone is
a huge reason to consider My Investor as your platform. In fact, option to invest in automated portfolios that work just like a RobAdvisor—which it is—and manage everything for you without you having to know a
thing, and the option to choose your own portfolio. Stocks, ETFs, or index funds—whatever you prefer. You have both options in the same place, which is Smash that like button if you found this video helpful, and I've included a link to another video where
Republic so you can compare it to MyInvestor.
