## Summary

Marc Andreessen recounts his early days as the sole tech support for the Mosaic browser, fielding bizarre user questions including one about a CD-ROM tray being used as a cup holder.

### Key Points

- **Tech Support for Mosaic** [00:00] — Andreessen was the only person handling bug reports and questions for the Mosaic browser, which was the dominant browser at the time.
- **The Cup Holder Incident** [00:15] — Users mistook the CD-ROM tray for a cup holder, pressing the button, placing a coffee cup on it, and then the tray retracted, spilling coffee. They emailed support asking how to keep the 'cup holder' out.

### Conclusion

The anecdote illustrates the absurd challenges of early internet tech support, where users had fundamental misunderstandings of hardware.
