[00:01] save you a lot of time. [music] I'm going to show you my exact process and how I list print-on-demand products for sale on Etsy using Printify and different AI tools that can really help you and be more efficient for when [00:14] And if you're new here, hi, I'm Mack. I make videos talking about e-commerce and make money online. And I'm a print-on-demand seller, which means that Printify who will print, pack, and ship my items for me as I get a sale. And [00:29] just like that all from scratch. Now, one of the most important things when you're selling on a marketplace like [music] Etsy is really starting before that is research. [music] We're not going to dive too deep into research [00:41] today. I'll leave helpful videos below. But essentially, you want to make sure time to create and list on your store are actually in demand and that people completely honest with you, you're going to waste your time. So, you want to make [00:54] sure that you do research in specific niches or products to know that what wants to buy. [music] That's a huge thing when selling on marketplaces, so completely new and you don't know where to start, pick a topic or something [01:07] you're interested in, do a search on Etsy, and see what starts coming up and get some gathering ideas from what's already selling so that you can bring And for the product that I'm going to be using in this video tutorial today is [01:20] great Printify products. They sell extremely well on Etsy. I've actually had a lot of success with this product not only just on Etsy, but also TikTok inspiration [music] here, where I'm located and mainly where I sell to in [01:34] the US, it is summer time, so a lot of people are purchasing these a funny dad hats for boat days or events. Now, a niche [music] also that's very popular on Etsy right now is the bookish niche or BookTok niche, essentially people who [01:46] really like to read books. So, I'm going to be combining a bookish theme design that [music] has just a saying on it with this popular dad hat, and that's to be listing on Etsy today. [music] And I made this design in Kittl. I use Kittl [01:59] all the time. I will, of course, leave a helpful design tutorial below as well, because a design is a big part of your print-on-demand product, because without so, let's jump over and start this whole listing process, and I'll show you [02:12] exactly what I do and how you can save a little bit of time with AI. So, here's section. As I said, Printify is a print-on-demand supplier that is going to print, pack, and ship our products for us as we get a sale on our Etsy [02:25] shop. Now, Printify syncs directly with Etsy, meaning that if you have an Etsy shop and a Printify account, you sync them, and then all these products here designs on them and then upload it directly to Etsy, and then everything [02:37] becomes a seamless process as we get our orders. Of course, if you don't have an account yet to either Etsy or Printify, they're both linked in the description, up to Printify. It is free to get started, but it will get you money off [02:49] first sale. And of course, you'll need to do that first before you start see, there are so many different types of products. The opportunities are honestly endless. I'm going to go to accessories, and they have a lot of [03:03] favorites are this vintage embroidery hat, and then also this denim hat as well. These are two really great options. I'm going to select this one. This is what it looks like here. This is the product. It shows the variants. Of [03:18] product to sell, it'll give you all the information here so you can see product costs, if that's something you're looking at, and then of course, delivered. Always want to take a look at that. And then once you're ready and [03:31] going to hit start designing. Now, on the left side, I'm going to go over to to upload my design. And under your library, that's where all your saved different designs will be. So, any design that you upload will save in your [03:45] creating products, so it makes it a lot easier when you want to keep uploading different designs on here. I'm just going to find the design that I want to use and then I'm just going to drag it and make sure it looks good. Make sure [03:58] that we're staying in those lines here. That's very important. Make sure it's centered and then I'm going to go over here as well. Make sure that it says high resolution. This means that it's going to print correctly when Printify [04:10] does do this for you because resolution is low, the product's not going to come out super well. So you just want to upload a higher larger file size so that good. Then I'm going to click this select variants button depending on what [04:23] product you're selling. If it's a apparel item like a hat, a t-shirt, even a mug, it will have different variants. And variants are a simple way to say basically the color and the size of a product. So for this hat, we have a few [04:35] variants. We have denim, black denim or light blue denim. I'm going to select these two and then click preview and see a preview of what my product's going to Printify giving me a little bit of an idea of what I can expect and what my [04:49] customer can expect when they actually do receive the design because we are doing print on demand so I'm not going to get this product first. It's going to Like I'm never even going to touch this [05:01] important to make sure that these previews look good and that I like the after you create the product and you list it, if someone orders it, Printify upload it. So you want to make sure it's correct and looks good. Okay, so I'm [05:14] just checking it out making sure that I like the way it looks. I think we're looking pretty good here. Okay, and I'm just going to do one that one looks. And then once you're finished, you hit save product. So we're [05:27] created our product. Printify does the heavy lifting with that. Now next is mock-up photos. So when you're actually doing and selling on Etsy or anywhere, product. Now what you want to do here is just select each photo that you want and [05:43] which ones you're clicking. Don't skip this. Grab a few different pictures of the product in different angles like so, and I'll show you how we can create more the product that you choose, there may be a button on your Printify dashboard [05:58] that says to create using AI. Now, Printify just launched a new AI mock-up well. If you have the option to use that for your product, I recommend that you options, and it's not like a traditional AI where you have to type a whole [06:13] sentence and a whole prompt to get a outcome. It already has like set prompts that you can choose and fill in, which makes the process a bit easier to create really great. So, if you do see that option, I encourage you to try it. And [06:25] before we leave here, I'm going to go ahead and download a blank of my mock-up transparent. I'll show you why I'm doing that later. And once I did that, I'm going to hit save selection. Okay, perfect. Now, what's cool and updated on [06:39] Printify is that they recently updated it, so it basically does a lot of the SEO for you already. Used to have to manually type this, but Printify has exactly it is that you're talking about. Also gives this optimize listing button, [06:53] too. So, you can create a bit about your design. You have 10 daily credits for this, and tell it some info so that it can actually optimize listing for you. So, I can say here, this is an embroidered [07:05] embroidered dot hat with a cute saying that is dot hat with a cute saying that is themed for bookish or book talk. It themed for bookish or book talk. It says, "A book a day keeps reality away." [07:20] It's for book lovers and gifts for people who love to read. Okay. You can also, if you want to here, give us characteristics about your [07:32] design, whatever it is, then hit generate, and then I'm going to let this actually optimize the listing for me. This is completely optional, but it does was. That's not sped up. It literally gives you a product title, so a book a [07:45] embroidered bookish dad hat. And then it adds in all this stuff into the product done. And then it also just added keywords for that as well. And if I want to, I can, you know, change this up however I want. A big misconception is [08:01] once you actually publish this to your Etsy account that you can't edit it later. Not true at all. You can edit all of this further on your Etsy account. You can also further edit it in your Printify account. So, don't feel like [08:13] no, I can't go back and have to redo it." Nope, all this is editable and you can always change it if you want to. And then if I want to do additional research like using an Everbee Chrome extension or if you're somebody that uses a Chrome [08:26] obviously switch these out, but this is a great starting point and can really save you time because Printify pretty much does it for us. I would encourage because at the end of the day, we did optimize using AI and while the AI is [08:40] good, sometimes having a bit more of like actual backed data can be a little bit more helpful. So, if we were to actually research that on Etsy under the bookish, you know, niche or different hats to get those keywords. And here you [08:53] can fill out your listing attributes. Now, these I will say are important if they're relevant for your product. Like this one, I would say that the hat type could be relevant. We could put it under baseball and trucker hat. But for like [09:06] occasion and recipient, honestly, I don't feel that these are super relevant. I feel that if my product is specifically matching it. So, for example, if I'm creating a t-shirt for a specific holiday or a pattern that is [09:20] animal print, right? That is when I feel that the listing attributes matter the most. This is argued amongst Etsy sellers, but for me personally and my experience, I don't go crazy with these. I really don't do much with them. I [09:34] sometimes feel that they can like sabotage me in the search algorithm and trying to say. But obviously, if you go through here and you see that one of the things you're creating is very mid-century, is very minimalist, is very [09:48] formal, that's when I would utilize these things to help you. But don't like go through here and try to fit yourself or fit your product in when it doesn't. That's my best advice for that. Now, for shipping, this is a very highly [10:00] confusing thing for people when they get started. Completely understand why if you are brand new, just leave it as it is. It will automatically assign a you don't have any products listed yet. If you do have products listed, there [10:13] will be other shipping that you can select. However, if it's your first will assign a new shipping profile that shipping. So, this cost here is what your customer is going to pay for [10:25] shipping or you if you choose to select free shipping. There's two options here. I'm leaving it on standard cuz it's a bit faster and worldwide and it's not too much more expensive than the economy. Now, going down, this is where [10:37] if you want to select free shipping, you can. Now, free shipping does very well on Etsy, I will say. I do find that people are more likely to purchase don't have free shipping, it's not a game-changer. You just want to make sure [10:49] also making sure that we're making a profit, right? So, if you're going to do free shipping, select that. It will give you some information about it and then that tells you how much you're making. Now, for pricing, this is something also [11:02] that people get caught up on. But if you just look at the details that it gives you'll actually be making on the product. And this right here is what you're going to sell the product for. And then your profit's how much you make [11:15] after a sale and what your profit margin is. It gives you all of these details button, which lets you know if your product is priced well or if you want to recommend for this, while Printful I does have this to show you what other [11:29] people are selling the product at, I do recommend jumping over to Etsy and seeing what types of pricing that the hats or product you're selling are something. This is a perfect example. Is when you click on a product like this, [11:42] right? This is a dad hat. It says embroidered hat. It's in 20 plus cards at $11. Now, however, what I want you to see here is a lot of people when they're selling they're like, "I can't compete with an $11 price, right?" If you click [11:55] style or size, you'll notice that they kind of have a bit of a price trick going on here where the product they're actually charging is around $20, okay? And if you scroll down, it's showing that they're charging $6 for shipping. [12:09] So, in total, the price of this hat for a customer would be around $27, I think. Yeah, around there for them to buy it. So, they're advertising it at $11. However, people are still buying it [12:22] $11. However, people are still buying it at the $27-ish dollar mark, okay? So, you'll find that very common as you scroll through products. Not every actually making them in house, but you'll see here's another example as [12:35] well. This one's being listed for $11, actually $20, and they're charging $6 for shipping as well. So, around that $27 mark seems to be where these hats are selling at. So, I want you to keep that in mind when you are pricing for [12:48] pay for it. It's just sometimes when you're doing your research here, why are all these products so cheap? But, that's not always the case um for that. So, like here's another one, $27 and then $6 to ship it. So, that's more around the [13:03] price that I'm kind of thinking we want to land in is like $27 and then like $5 kind of go off of that for. And of course, Printify is pretty close there, [13:15] but I just do like to tell people to check that before they do it. So, I'm going to do $28, okay? And then they'll pay around $5 for shipping. So, it'll come out to around $34 and that'll give us a good area [13:27] there. You can, of course, charge whatever you want. 20% profit margin is considered a good profit margin on for print-on-demand products cuz remember, ourselves. We're literally sitting back and taking the money after we get a sale [13:39] and bringing that profit. So, always aim for 20% profit margins and higher. Um and if you're having any issues with this, you can always check the Printify profit calculator. This is super helpful and can really be, you know, something [13:52] that gives you all of the stuff that you need for this exact process. Definitely recommend knowing your pricing and then also, speaking of AI. So, when you're doing this, you can absolutely ask ChatGPT or Claude or whatever AI you're [14:06] products to really help you. Let's say you want to hit a specific profit margin, you can input all this information into an AI system to help product over and over with different designs, you'll start to gauge an idea [14:20] of how much you're actually charging for those products. So, in my mind, I know I know about what price I charge for mugs. And as you continue, that will, that you can do much faster than having [14:33] single time. Next, I'm going to go to hide in store. Now, why I say to do that is because we're not ready to publish this Etsy listing and Etsy does this thing, allegedly, um where when you do upload a listing, it will start to test [14:47] the listing for the first few days and we don't want it to know that our fully finished when it does start testing that listing. So, I'm going to make sure to click hide in store. I'm going to make sure all this is selected [14:59] and I'm going to hit publish. Now, on your Etsy shop, you'll be able to find your product under active or draft because I hit hidden in store, it's in my drafts. As you can see, it's right down here. And all those mockups are [15:11] coming in. And as I said, the title, the description we generated, and all of the tags that we generated as well on Printify jump right over here. Same with our price. Everything is literally already saved for us, which is so [15:24] incredible. It's something that if you did not do this yet for your how it's make sure under who did it that you select another company or person, a finished product, and you add Printify as a production partner. You can go [15:39] ahead and screenshot this if you like to. This is exactly what it should say for your Printify listing and for your production partner. That just lets Etsy production partner. On listing, it's required, so it's definitely a step that [15:53] where you can control your return and exchange policy. I'm going to hit change policy, create a policy, and select that I do not accept returns or exchanges. That's because with Printify, they don't accept returns and exchanges on your [16:08] behalf, and I just don't want to offer that on my store. And as I mentioned, photos for your product, but I will say that it is an important part in standing we have good SEO and a good description for our product, but really what comes [16:22] down to is the photo that's going to stop someone's scroll, right? So making and is going to look good when someone scrolls by it is very important. Here's that I just made in just a few minutes on Kittl Flows. These are all done with [16:38] them and drag and drop them right into my Etsy listing, just like this. And like I said, I will have a tutorial for that process to learn if you've never done it before, and I don't want to make this [16:52] video too too long. But essentially, your first image should be really know what the product's going to look like, maybe what it looks like on someone, and then we can just preview our listing. So this is our photo here. [17:07] with, which is important when we're using AI for mock-ups. Okay. Looks even have someone like holding it from the back, and then we see our description here, right? With all the stuff that we need to know. Beautiful. [17:22] before I list this product is just a little bit more to my title. Now, Etsy want their titles to be clear and concise, exactly what the product is [17:34] for. So, bookish embroidered denim hat, cute book lover dad hat. I'm actually just going to add a few more keywords in here. Now, when I type book lover hat into Etsy, I'm just going to read through and see what other best-selling [17:49] listings have on here. So, for this one, very basic book lover gift, they have embroidered library hat. Just going to go through here and see if there's any keywords that might be better to add to my listing. Again, we did do this [18:02] through Printify's AI, which is great, but just to see if maybe there's a word that's similar in all of the popular now or best-selling listings, just to see if there's something that we could, you know, really, you know, capitalize on [18:15] seeing anything to add. I guess I could word add the word [music] gift. Book lover gift. Cool. So, that's one other thing that I saw, but again, keeping this short and concise. If you click this [18:29] little button here, it will also tell you exactly what Etsy suggests. They say not to repeat words too much and not to have those like super lengthy titles. it clear and concise so that their AI can really figure it out. I overall, I [18:42] think we're pretty good to go on our listing. And just like that, we have a listing that's ready to go and be published for sale on Etsy. And as I easier. I'm just going to hit publish with changes, and it is a 20 cent fee to [18:57] you're new and you do use that link below on a new Etsy shop, it will give you your first 40 listings for free. And here's what this looks like. This is on tutorials and such. So, don't try to purchase the product. I just had someone [19:11] because the product wasn't active. But yeah, this is essentially what it would look like for your customer. And in just a few minutes we created the actual product listing utilizing all the stuff on Printify and then made some mock-up [19:24] photos and it's ready to go. It can be added to someone's cart, okay? And all the information is here. I really love as well that this gives all the stuff go through and figure out everything. They already have it inputted for you [19:38] and keep listing different products on your store. And as I said, because this account, if someone were to purchase this hat, all of that customer's order information goes right over to my Printify account and then I'll just hit [19:53] accept, it will charge me and it will start creating this product and send it to that customer. So I'm never actually creating the physical product itself. Something that I definitely suggest to is if you are new to start with one [20:05] product. So for example, if you wanted to start with these denim hats, start with that and then just create like 10 different designs to go on that hat, right? So I could have another one that says coffee and books and then loves to [20:18] read or like like smut. Whatever it is for that bookish, you know, research that we're doing, I would create, let's say, five to 10 designs and then do the with the different design, changing the designing out, keeping the pricing the [20:31] same, keeping my um description the same, utilizing the way that Printify listings, after you publish them, let them be for a bit of time. You don't want to be changing it every single day. We want to have Etsy have a chance to [20:44] algorithm without us changing every single thing about the listing. Post it for sale, see what happens after a few days or weeks. If you're not getting traction, go in, switch up your keywords or different things about your strategy. [20:57] As always, everything is linked below. Thank you so, so much for watching. If this was helpful, let me know by leaving a like or a comment on the video along with any questions you have and I hope to see you in the next one.
