[0:00] while everyone is jumping on the trendy [0:02] online side hustles they none digital [0:04] side hustles that have stood the test of [0:06] time that are still making people Rich [0:09] even now some of these old school side [0:11] hustles are billion dooll markets and so [0:13] in this video I'm going to be sharing [0:15] with you nine classic or old schoolside [0:17] hustles that you can start today in the [0:19] comfort of your home and with very [0:21] little effort and startup Capital my [0:23] name is yon and on this channel we talk [0:25] about all things personal finance so if [0:27] you're interested in anything remotely [0:29] money related this is the channel let's [0:31] get started so the first one is cake and [0:33] confectionary baking this old school [0:35] side hustle has stood the test of time [0:37] think about it everyone has a birthday [0:40] everyone will have a special event in [0:42] their lives and so there are so many [0:44] opportunities for you to sell even one [0:47] cake per week the average cost of a cake [0:49] in the United States is $350 to about [0:52] $400 in South Africa that's between [0:55] 1,500 and 2,200 and so if you just saw [1:00] one cake per week that would be about [1:03] 80,000 r or if you're in the US on the [1:05] top end that would be about [1:07] 1,600 pretty sweet right in terms of [1:10] starting the rating is at about a two [1:12] because you can go to any grocery store [1:14] buy premix eggs some milk put something [1:17] together and start learning how to do [1:19] the craft terms of Maintenance it's also [1:21] not that bad because your aim is just [1:23] one cake a week and to start selling to [1:26] the people around you your friends your [1:28] family your colleagues and in terms of [1:29] earning potential how long is a piece of [1:32] string as long as you can bake one cake [1:33] per week you'll be good to go better yet [1:36] after work if you can bake a cake every [1:39] single day then you could be literally [1:40] printing cash and so this old school [1:43] side hustle has the potential of [1:45] actually becoming a whole business the [1:46] second one is event planning with this [1:48] one you need very little Capital even [1:51] zero if you know a lot of people and you [1:53] could literally start with kites parties [1:56] and grow your craft and your knowledge [1:58] around event planning as you go get a [2:00] list on Etsy or on canva just download a [2:04] generic list online and start making it [2:06] your own there's so many people who are [2:08] doing events every single week but not [2:10] all of us are very creative to come up [2:13] with an event that works I actually went [2:15] to a kitty's party with my son the other [2:17] day and it was the most beautiful party [2:20] but I couldn't imagine myself putting [2:22] everything together so when it comes to [2:23] planning his parties I'll definitely be [2:25] looking for an event planner and so [2:27] that's something that you can definitely [2:28] start doing your s it's an old school [2:31] side hustle that is making people [2:33] millions they are people who have taken [2:36] kids to school who have Built Homes [2:38] invested and are literally millionaires [2:40] from event planning let me know if [2:42] you're currently an event planner or [2:44] you're thinking of going into the [2:45] business in the comment section below [2:46] the third one is on the back of event [2:49] planning a little different it's called [2:51] event Deco and so with this one you [2:53] would literally be helping people [2:54] decorate the event I would say starting [2:56] might be a bit expensive the rating for [2:58] starting is about a 3 because you do [3:00] need to put in some Capital either to [3:02] buy some items or to pay your suppliers [3:06] one way of doing Deco is getting [3:08] inspiration so you can literally start [3:10] looking at Pinterest uh start using [3:13] canva to put things together and start [3:15] testing it out from the comfort of your [3:17] home another way you could get into this [3:19] event Deco business is by actually [3:21] hiring out Deco I know for a friend's [3:23] bridal shower I actually rented out all [3:26] the Deco that we had on the table so [3:28] from the napkins from the plates so that [3:30] could be something that you could do but [3:32] with that you would need more upfront [3:34] capital in terms of Maintenance very [3:36] easy to maintain because if you're [3:38] renting out stuff people just call you [3:40] you deliver and they bring it back in [3:43] the same condition they put up a deposit [3:45] you don't really have to do much and [3:46] then in terms of earnings potential [3:48] again it really depends on how much time [3:51] you have most events happen on the [3:53] weekend and so if you can do two events [3:55] in a weekend then you can actually [3:57] charge a bit more and make more money [4:00] the earnings could be anywhere between [4:01] 10,000 Rand to 50,000 Rand some event [4:05] Deco companies charge as much as 20K so [4:08] if you're looking to start an event Deco [4:10] business start small start with small [4:13] parties kiddies parties and work your [4:15] way up number four is handyman services [4:18] now for this one if you're going to be [4:19] doing it yourself you might need to put [4:21] an upfront cost to buy a toolbox or you [4:23] might need to hire existing handyman [4:25] that you can use to deliver the service [4:27] so you don't always have to do it [4:29] yourself you can actually be the conduit [4:31] or the middle person between the client [4:33] and the handyman services so from [4:36] painting waterproofing anything that [4:38] needs to be done around the house you [4:39] can offer that service advertise it have [4:42] a landing page advertise on social media [4:45] in terms of starting like I said not too [4:47] much is required in terms of Maintenance [4:50] again marketing which is not that much I [4:53] think you would be looking at around 500 [4:55] Grand or even less as you start you [4:57] could literally start offering servic to [5:00] your friends and your family first to [5:02] test it out and then start building out [5:03] your team in terms of earnings potential [5:05] this one really depends on the jobs that [5:07] you will have it's not a lot per job but [5:10] if you do multiple jobs then it builds [5:12] up to something then the fifth one is [5:14] personal training now a lot of people [5:16] are into Health there's a health craze [5:19] everyone wants to be healthy and so this [5:21] old school side hustle has stood the [5:23] test of time and so all you need to do [5:25] if you're already on the path to get [5:27] yourself in shape the first thing that [5:28] you can do is is actually just start [5:30] talking to people at the gym start [5:32] advertising your services to your [5:34] friends you do not need to be a [5:36] qualified personal trainer who works for [5:38] Virgin active for you to start this so [5:40] in terms of starting very cheap start [5:42] small speak to your friends they can [5:44] recommend you to other people in terms [5:46] of Maintenance all you have to do is [5:48] show up on a daily basis and you'll get [5:51] paid I think the average cost is about [5:53] 300 to 400 per session now you can do [5:56] group sessions as well you can also do [5:58] online sessions you can literally make [6:00] as much as you want and you don't need [6:02] to leave your 925 just like all the [6:03] other old school side hustles that I've [6:05] mentioned you don't need to leave your [6:07] 925 and then the six side hustle I've [6:09] spoken about before in other videos is [6:11] tutoring this is one that I swear by [6:14] because it helps you positively impact [6:17] Society by helping students helping [6:20] people who are on their educational [6:22] Journeys this in terms of starting is a [6:24] one in terms of Maintenance probably a [6:26] two because you do need to fit it into [6:28] your schedule travel sometimes you can't [6:31] tutor at night but you could also offer [6:33] online tutoring services in terms of how [6:36] much you can actually make in the US the [6:39] average lesson is about $20 in South [6:42] Africa that's similar around $ 280 to [6:45] $350 per hour so if you want to start a [6:47] side hustle that won't take too much out [6:49] of you but will also have a positive [6:51] social impact pick a subject that you're [6:53] really good at that you were good at in [6:55] school and start teaching that if you're [6:57] also good at baking or a craft you could [6:59] also teach students about that and the [7:01] seventh one is professional Consulting [7:03] I've spoken about this one before and it [7:05] is my top earning side hustle it's [7:08] actually now a business because you can [7:10] make so much money from just one project [7:11] a lot of small businesses and [7:13] entrepreneurs are in need of Business [7:15] Services or professional guidance so if [7:18] you're an accountant an investment [7:19] specialist a lawyer a marketer or a [7:22] brand strategist you could actually [7:24] offer your services and so in terms of [7:26] starting you don't really need much you [7:28] already have a 925 so you use what you [7:30] have so I would put that rating at a one [7:32] in terms of Maintenance you need to put [7:34] a lot of work so that's a five the [7:36] quality has to Beyond point for people [7:38] to keep referring you to other people in [7:40] terms of earnings potential you could [7:43] literally make $10,000 or even $5,000 [7:46] you hear some people have worked on a [7:47] project and that project was [7:49] $100,000 and so this old school side [7:51] hustle is one that you definitely need [7:53] to try and could literally make you rich [7:55] like I said for me it's actually now a [7:57] business and then the eight side hustle [7:59] is catering this could be making a meal [8:01] with a variety of options for a wedding [8:03] a birthday party or any event really or [8:06] on the flip side it could actually be a [8:09] subscription service where you're [8:11] creating healthy packages for families [8:13] or individuals that don't have time to [8:16] make food for themselves again even [8:17] though this is a non-digital old school [8:19] side hustle you could use social media [8:21] to advertise the food that you make and [8:23] the events that you've done and your [8:25] experience so that people can actually [8:27] find you the best place to start is [8:29] always with your friends and family and [8:31] your colleagues start there start small [8:33] start learning the business of Event [8:35] Catering again this old school side [8:37] hustle is literally a full-time job for [8:39] other people and some people I know have [8:41] left their 925s to pursue this full-time [8:44] so in terms of starting I'll rate that [8:46] maybe a two because you might need to [8:48] invest on some utensils and some pots [8:51] and tools that you'll need to use and in [8:53] terms of Maintenance I'll put it as a [8:55] for because it's a lot of work cooking [8:57] is a lot of work but you can do it after [9:00] your day job or you can set some time or [9:03] you can hire other people who can help [9:04] you deliver on the service the earnings [9:06] potential really depend on how much time [9:08] you have but it's one like I said that [9:11] can literally turn from being a side [9:13] hustle into a full-time job a small [9:16] business and so the last old school side [9:18] hustle that has stood the test of time [9:20] is coaching and mentoring this in the [9:22] past few years has been a 15 to 20 [9:25] billion industry so many people are [9:27] willing to pay for life coaching [9:30] personal finance coaching and just [9:32] career coaching and other types of [9:34] mentorship and so if that is your strong [9:36] suit or you have capacity that's one [9:39] side hustle that you can start with ease [9:41] and in terms of ease of starting I'd put [9:43] that at a three you could start with a [9:45] 4-week coaching program where you can [9:47] share some templates and have online [9:50] sessions on Zoom Google meet wherever to [9:52] actually help improve the lives of your [9:54] clients in terms of Maintenance this [9:56] will be easy at the beginning because [9:58] you have few coaching sessions but as it [10:01] gets bigger this is another old school [10:03] side hustle that could turn into a [10:04] full-time job as you might have coaching [10:07] sessions every single hour some people [10:09] will charge1 to [10:11] $500 per client While others will charge [10:15] $1,500 per hour just to have a session [10:19] with a client social media is a very [10:21] powerful tool to advertise all the side [10:23] hustles that I've just spoken about and [10:25] so hopefully you can use that as [10:26] leverage if you're doing any of these or [10:28] would like to try any of these side [10:30] hustles please leave a comment in the [10:31] comment section My Hope Is that this [10:33] community will grow to one where we [10:35] actually support each other's businesses [10:37] each other's side hustles so please
