I've grown an email newsletter to over 100,000 subscribers twice one thing that surprised me was that the subject line doesn't matter at all with back Linko it spent a lot of time my subject line making it stand out making it unique making it compelling having that element of mystery what's inside the message and it never really made a big difference with exploding topics our subject line is literally ET colon the date that's all the r of subject lines and we get a 50% open rate and that's because people don't really open based on the subject line as much as the sender and the Habit so imagine like if you get an email from your mom does it matter what her subject line is or you're going to open it because your mom sent it right that's really what matters and it's the same thing with the newsletter if you're sending something that people want to read and they see that you're the sender and they're used to seeing it at that time they're very very likely to open it
