[00:00] Twitch affiliate program is unlike any other because it's not like you get the link somewhere and people click on it and then they just subscribe or whatever and then you get commission for it. It's not like that. It's a different story. [00:13] And with this, it helps creators, right? Just like you and me. So it allows you to get some perks. It allows you to, you know, have some pros with it. And, yeah, there are some cons. [00:26] So, yeah, let's just talk about them. First of all, the easiest way to learn about Twitch affiliate program is just Google for it. Just go with this, all right? So you've got like this, joining the affiliate program here, and the page is going to look like this. [00:41] So first of all, you're going to learn everything you need to know from this page, and I'll show you some of the reviews and some of the tips and tricks that other people are using. So first of all, how can you become an affiliate? [00:54] As I told you, you've got to be creative. Let me just increase the size of this one. So to become a Twitch affiliate, you must meet these requirements. There are four of them. First of all, you have to reach 25 followers. [01:08] Then you have to stream for four hours. Then you have to stream on four different days. And you have to reach an average of three viewers on four different days. All of these must be fully completed in order to be invited to the affiliate program. [01:24] Once you apply and once they select you, you will get a notification on your Twitch account and you will get an invitation through your email. It can take you days just to, you know, get through all the hoops, but it's going to be easier. [01:39] Now, on the page they say this, why should I be an affiliate? So, it unlocks these tools. As I told you, it gives you some of the perks. You can also monetize your content on Twitch. [01:51] And this means that you can show the ads before your content, right? So just like pre-roll ads on YouTube, all right? And then you have these bits. [02:03] People can just cheer you with bits. That's basically like them throwing pennies at you. It's not a lot, but there are subscriptions, and there's, of course, ad revenue. But the bad side about this ad revenue is that they take a lot of commission. [02:19] They take 50%. I did a lot of research on this topic and as you can see people can give you like paid subscriptions and ad revenue but you get around per subscription So they taking more [02:36] than 50% sometimes. So that is a big con for me. And if you're just starting out and you have some viewers, you have some subscribers, you don't have a lot, and you know, you're [02:49] hustling your way to get more subs, to get more views. Well, these pre-roll ads can be a bad thing because you want to get people hooked on. You just want to get more views, more subs, right? [03:03] And to have these pre-roll ads, which are sometimes a minute long, sometimes 90 seconds, which is totally bad, well, it can just put people off, right? You're a new channel. You're a new streamer. So if you just put ads in front of those people, you know, you just want to build an audience first, it's going to be okay if you have a lot of subs, you have like tons of views, you don't care about that at all at this time. [03:30] It can be good. But if you're just a beginner who's just building an audience first, it's going to be bad. You know, people hate ads and that's just how it is. As you can see here on Indeed, there are some reviews as well. [03:45] And as you can see, tougher when you don't make a lot. And here you can see they take half of your money and all of your ad revenue. But it's a really fun job. You choose your own hours and make your own content, allowing you to be creative. [04:01] The platform doesn't do much to help small creators grow. So that, in a nutshell, Twitch is that. Right? But as long as you're working hard to grow, you will. You can just Google for it, or you can just find it through the affiliate page. [05:30] Here on the affiliate page, you can see there's Visit Creator Camp link, and this is it. Here, you've got a lot of knowledge. You have a lot of info on what is Switch. It'll just cover the basics of it if you're just starting out and if you feel like you know scared and afraid of all this like [05:50] The vastness of Twitch and whatever you can just go through this. There's a lot of these courses There's a lot of these you know little chapters and as you can see you can just go with this one [06:02] Which is 28 minutes. This is 6 minutes 10 minutes So there's a lot of you know, it's good to know these things. What kind of music can you use? What kind of content can you monetize? [06:14] And, you know, how do I start streaming? You have this, like, get to know Twitch, which will cover all the basics for you. But eventually, if you want to join the affiliate program, it's going to be through your dashboard. [06:27] So let me just, let's just make a new account here. So for all you beginners right there, just click on sign up. Choose your country here from the list. It's available, you know, worldwide. You don't have to care about that. [06:40] And then you've got the username, password, date of birth, phone number, and you just sign up. So a lot of it will happen from your dashboard here, creator dashboard. [06:52] And you've got all of your screen managers analytics tab here on the left. You've got the overviews, research achievements, screen summary. And you've got discovery of viewers. [07:04] And of course, there's community tab, which is going to be really, really important to you. There seven stab which is going to be related to your strings and content and there creator camp button right here Now when you go back to your Twitch here and when you click on these more options button here there this just close this so there [07:27] this tab here which is partners all right now partners is one level above right above affiliates and as you can see right here let me just increase the [07:39] size of this one so the Twitch partnership program is for those who are committed to streaming and are ready to level up from affiliate. So this is a level up from affiliate. Now this [07:51] is really good. So if you can go through the affiliate program unscathed, if you just can survive long enough to come to this partnership program [08:03] it's going to be really, really, really good. You have a lot of these benefits. You've got channel subscriptions and notes and these are from $6 to $25. [08:16] Also, you've got bits. Bits are equal to one cent per bit, you know? So for example, you have 100 of these bits. That's going to be $1 for a creator [08:28] and there's some special features which you can use down there. So yeah, in a nutshell, affiliate program is not good for beginners. And I'm saying this especially because of those ads, right? [08:40] I don't want to go to a new streamer and, you know, get flooded with ads right away. There's like 30 minutes. Each 30 minutes, you have to watch like a 90 seconds ad, which is totally wrong. [08:55] And I think that they should do something about it because, you know, for beginners, we don't want to drive off users, you know. Later on, it is okay. People will adapt. Viewers will adapt to it. [09:08] But if I'm watching a new creator, well, I don't want to watch ads. I just want to see what that person or who that person is so I can just follow them more. Oh, the good thing is Twitch is still alive. [09:20] It is not too late to start. It is over, you know, over 1.2 billion people on the platform each month. So it's a good place to be if you want to make this a hobby or a full-time job down the line. [09:35] But it's all going to depend on you, of course. the more you work, the more you train, well, it's going to be better for you. So I wish you good luck, and I'll catch you in the next one.
