My name is Dylan the May and I'm the ice cream guy. >> You are the ice cream guy. What was the biggest challenge in getting your channel going? The biggest challenge it's just it's still the biggest challenge just to keep going. So like you you only lose when you stop. So if you want to win, you just keep going no matter the ups the downs just keep going. Yeah, one of my favorite sayings is Henzo Gracie the only difference between a black belt and a white belt is the black belt never stopped. >> Yeah, exactly. You know, that's the same thing with YouTube. Where do you get your ideas for your videos your next video the video after that? Yeah, a lot of the time it's from my comments. I like to read and see what people are saying in my comments. Also just going to new ice cream shops and saying hey, what are you known for? What can I show people that is fresh and new that they don't know that people do. And a lot of the time it's just one of those two. We've all been there. What happens when a video that you think is going to be great just doesn't perform well? How do you handle that? Sometimes the video that you think is going to be the best video ever other people disagree with and sometimes the silliest video you think is going to be so dumb no one's going to watch it everyone loves it. So just just keep going. We have a lot of kids a lot of families watching YouTube to learn things. What is like one of the best things they can learn from your channel? Honestly like one of my biggest thing is being resilient and I love telling stories about times in my life and other people's lives where they kept going and things got better things got worse and they got better again and like it's just this up and down and we all have to do it together. That's like the fun of it. >> of ice cream as well. Exactly. Yeah, and then genuinely. Do you think about your videos on TV when you make them? When I make long form videos yes. And one of my biggest inspirations is watching people watch YouTube which is really funny to do but I love watching my niece and nephews watch other people's videos watch my videos and then just ask them about it. It helps me understand what they're seeing on TV rather than what I'm imagining and then building videos around that. There's a brand new creator out there thinking about starting a channel maybe a little nervous. What could you tell them about getting started? I what I always tell people is what is something that you are so excited to talk about? Like think about your favorite thing that whenever someone ask you about it you light up you get excited you you start flowing through the sentences. Think about that thing and then do that in front of a camera or behind a camera. I wasn't even in on a camera for the half of my channel. If you go to all my videos most of them I'm behind the camera but I'm sharing something I'm passionate about which is ice cream dealing with customers. Like these are the things that are part of my life that makes me enjoy like life and just find those things about you and find out how to share them with other people.
