## Summary

The creator delivers an emotional, tearful reaction to a recent episode of the anime *Re:Zero*, describing it as a masterpiece. He analyzes key character moments, narrative parallels, and hidden storytelling details, while expressing deep appreciation for the series' emotional impact and writing quality.

### Key Points

- **Emotional Breakdown Over Re:Zero** [0:01] — The creator openly cries while reacting to the episode, stating he has been rewatching a scene repeatedly for 20 minutes.
- **First Title Drop After 10 Years** [1:08] — The anime delivers its first title drop 70 episodes into the series, 10 years after Season 1, marking a significant narrative milestone.
- **Cliffhanger Ending and Waiting** [2:02] — The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leading to a two-to-three month hiatus before the second cour. The creator expresses a willingness to wait for high-quality content.
- **Emotional Impact Compared to Other Anime** [3:03] — Only *Hunter × Hunter* and *Mushoku Tensei* have evoked a similar emotional response in the creator.
- **Parallel to Season 1's Rim Scene** [3:17] — The current episode is compared to the Season 1 scene where Rim gives Subaru emotional support. Now, Amelia provides that same support to a memory-less Subaru.
- **Sped-Up Character Development** [5:03] — The episode condenses Subaru's entire character arc (self-love, accepting support, heroism) into a single conversation, serving as a 'speed run' of his development.
- **Amelia's Character Growth and Naivety** [6:26] — Amelia shows growth from Season 2, but also retains her core naivety and willingness to sacrifice everything for the person in front of her, mirroring the first episode.
- **Sauta's Creeping Presence** [7:40] — While the emotional conversation takes place, Sauta (a danger indicator) gradually approaches, creating a sense of imminent peril and underscoring Amelia's priorities.
- **Amelia's Virtue: Selfless Prioritization** [8:00] — Amelia chooses to have a life-changing, reassuring conversation with Subaru despite the tower collapsing and others dead, proving she values Subaru above her own life or logic.
- **Freed 'Reed' Walking Freely** [10:09] — Reed, one of the strongest swordsmen, is now walking freely around the tower, which the creator notes as a serious threat and a new mystery.
- **Anastasia/Akidna Speech Pattern Detail** [10:31] — The creator points out a subtle Japanese language detail: Akidna's speech pattern changes when Anastasia is in control. In a previous cave scene, Anastasia was allowed to feel pain, while in this episode, Akidna shields Anastasia from it.

### Conclusion

The creator affirms this episode is a masterpiece of writing, comparing it to iconic earlier episodes, and expresses gratitude for the series' ability to evoke such a powerful emotional response.

Even if you forget me,
>> bro.
>> It's so big, bro. It's so big. Dude,
oh,
I love Re:Zero, man. Like, dude, I've
been re-watching this scene just over
and over, okay? Like, I've been sitting
here for the last like 20 minutes just
trying to record a video without
breaking down. And you know what? Just
screw it. We We're going We're just
screw it. I'll have tears in my eyes. I
look like, you know, a big baby. What a
episode of Re:Zero, man. Like, dude,
this
just so good. Like, it is easily one of
the best anime that I've just I've ever
watched. And it just it's insane. Like,
it's been it's been 10 years plus since
season 1 came out, and they they still
got me crying, bro. Like, I first
encountered Re:Zero when I was like 20.
I'm 31 NOW AND IT STILL GOT ME BALL LIKE
A BABY. LIKE, BRO, it's so good, dude. I
love this series, man. Like, what do you
mean we get a title drop? WE GET A TITLE
DROP LIKE 70 episodes deep, 10 years.
LIKE, WE GOT A TITLE DROP. LIKE, THIS IS
THE full-blown Rezero title drop. Like,
bro, like I like it. Oh. Okay. Okay.
Okay. I I'm I'm trying to compose myself
because it this is just such an
incredible episode. This is just such an
incredible anime, man. And it makes me
so happy to be able to just feel this
and to talk about this series because
it's just it's it's it's good, man. It
just it's it is just it is why I love
anime. It is it's in essence the core
essence is why I love anime, why I love
manga, why I love these type of stories.
And just seeing stuff like this is just
oh dude, like
the craziest thing about this episode is
that it leaves you on such a
cliffhanger, bro. Like I'm mad right
now. Like I I'm sad, happy, mad,
everything in between so many different
wild roller coaster of emotions because
like we we now have to wait like for the
next two to three months until the
return of Re:Zero because obviously it's
going on a brief hiatus and it'll return
with its second core. And like look, I I
can wait. I mean, if they give us the
same quality that we got with this, by
all means, take a whole year off. I I I
please I I'll hate having to wait that
long. Don't get me wrong, but by all
means, if they can continuously deliver
this high quality, do it. Just do what
you got to do. And I I'm just going to
tell you, man, this is really special.
This is This is just such This is such a
special anime. This is really just such
a special series. Like, there's really
just nothing like it. The only thing I
think that really has ever made me feel
this way when I have watched something
is probably Hunter Hunter and Mushik
Tensei. Those are the only two series
that really come to mind that really
just get me this emotional to this
degree when I'm watching something. And
like this entire episode, for those that
obviously didn't catch it, this is the
equivalent of the Natsuki Subaru episode
where he says, "I love Ameilia." For
instance, when he's having that
conversation with Rim in season 1, where
Rim is just basically being his
emotional pillar and support, saying,
"You are my hero. I have your back."
Basically just saying that regardless of
how Subaru feels about himself, he feels
like he is a piece of [ __ ] that he is
nothing. He's worthless and everything.
Rim believed in him. She believed in the
greatness that was in him. Believed that
he was a hero and she stood her ground.
She could have ran off with him and had
her own life with him, but she chose to
stay there with the current Nazki Subaru
and support him. And basically, thanks
to Rim is what really got him out of the
hole in season 1. He was able to push
forward. And so, this entire episode
here with Amelia talking with Subaru,
kind of telling Subaru who he is, who he
actually is, is literally that scene.
But now it's Amelia's turn. We're
finally getting the moment to where
Amelia is the emotional support. She is
the pillar that allows Subaru to pick up
the pieces and to continue moving
forward. And I think this is very
interesting in terms of just the story
writing here because obviously this
Nazki Subaru we have, he is someone that
is, you know, he has no memories. He
doesn't remember anything. So the very
concept of Rim and her emotional support
is just non-existent. And so it's kind
of like in this moment Rim is getting
replaced by Million. That that's a
tragedy. Yes, it's kind of sad, but it
it just it showcases that he has a lot
of people within his life that really
have supported and built him up and
allow him to find his way again. And
this very episode showcases that he um
he was repeating the same mistakes, the
same character development and
everything that he had throughout season
1 and season 2 and even season 3. And it
got basically sped run through. Like
this this entire moment here pretty much
was just like a condensed version of
Subaru's character development where he
was realizing that he kind of needs to
love himself, realizing that there's
people that love him, realizing that he
is potentially a hero or a great guy and
he needs to believe in himself and know
what people say about him. There's a lot
of ways you can look at this and like he
wants to save people. He he's willing to
do what it takes to be able to save
them. He won't forget even if he loses
them. All these different type of
things. There's just all the different
pieces of character development that
Subaru has went through throughout the
story was basically front and center for
this to get him up to speed. Even though
this isn't technically at the moment our
same Subaru
in essence with his very soul it is just
that sounds complicated but hopefully
you get what I mean by that. But like
this very like big Amelia moment is just
so powerful because it really iterates
just how much she also has grown as a
character. And I think that one of the
things that makes this entire scene very
emotional, it shows the changes of
Amelia but also not. And let me explain
that one because obviously if this was
Amelia
like Amelia in season 2 before the
development, I don't know if she would
have been able to do this like she is
and handle it properly. But she handled
it in such a way thanks to the
development she received in season 2 and
after that. But we also see some similar
mistakes that she would commit even
prior to season 2. And what I mean by
that is she is someone that is
hopelessly
naive or she will do anything to save
someone that's right in front of her and
she could potentially waste her entire
life. If you don't know what I mean by
that, the beginning of ReZero, the first
episode, you can go back and look at it
yourself. Subaru realized very quickly
with his brief encounter with Amelia
that she is someone that is so
good-natured, so good-hearted and naive
that, you know, she would just lose her
entire life trying to save people or
just do something right or even lose her
life in the process. And this very
circumstance is basically what Subaru
talked about. And if you don't know what
I mean by that, literally while this
entire conversation is going down,
Amelia is basically saying like it is,
laying her heart on the table for Subaru
to hear, even doing a love confession,
by the way. And we have this beautiful
scene, by the way. Oh, the dude. The
original OG song. Oh, bro. Bro, bro, I I
I'm gonna I'm gonna tear up again, man.
I'm I'm gonna tear up again.
Amelia is literally doing this entire
conversation and you just see Sauta
creeping in in the background. Like
while this is going on, Sauta is inching
closer and closer to consuming that area
that Amelia and Subaru is in. You could
see her surrounding them and obviously
there's imminent danger. This is very
very dangerous and at the end of the day
when you think about this situation, did
this conversation need to happen now?
Like we we got to look at this in like a
very logical perspective for a second.
Looking at the circumstance, okay, the
towers crumbling, people are dying left
and right. Subaru just told you that
Beatatrice and Julius, Anastasia,
Akidna, you know, everybody's dead
basically, okay? And you hear this and
instead of trying to say, "We could talk
about this later. We can move out of the
tower," she decides to just stop what
they're doing and have a full-blown
conversation with Subaru while the
danger is around them. And what this
indicates is is that in that moment,
Amelia, she proved who she really is by
her very virtue. She she basically would
throw her life away to protect Subaru
and others around her. And that's what
this is. She she realized the most
important thing right now was to
basically talk with Subaru, say it like
it is, and give him reassurance. And I
would like to remind everybody in this
moment or in the series, Amelia doesn't
know Subaru has returned by death. You
know, she doesn't. So, when you look at
from this perspective, this moment
really just shows a lot about her
character. It shows that she cares so
much about Subaru that it's just way
more important than anything else. and
basically even her own life in this
moment. It's sad, but it also is
beautiful at the same time. And it
re-emerges the very emotion that Subaru
had at the beginning of the story on
what inspired him to continue pushing
forward for Ameilia's sake. So yeah,
there's just so much about this episode
that is just straight up beautiful. And
what's the craziest thing about this is
that even with Sauta appearing in this
episode, like we actually get to see her
once again. She is not even like the
front main center importance of this
episode. Like she she she's important,
don't get me wrong. She's very important
for this episode, but like she is not as
important as everything else. Like
there's just so much in this episode.
Like I mean you you you have the stuff
with like the split personality of Saru.
What is really going on there? I mean,
we have like uh we have Reed literally
walking out and just being able to walk
around the tower. What the hell's going
on with that? Like like what? Like it
it's just that that's just a big that
that's a mind [ __ ] It it really is.
It's just like oh oh oh my god. Like one
of the strongest swordsmen in existence
is just walking around freely. This
cannot be a good thing. Um the other one
is that we also have like Anastasia. We
get a big little detail with Anastasia
which is very subtle and actually I want
to talk about this because I think this
is very important that will easily fly
over people's head. So Anastasia
obviously dies in this episode and this
this scene is supposed to hint at
something and I've been neglecting to
talk about it because it would have been
spoilers until now. But um you remember
when she got cut in half, was 50% off,
you know, around episode 3 or four of
this season? Well, if you remember, she
started freaking out and saying like, "I
don't want to die. I don't want to die."
And just going absolutely bonkers and
insane. Well, when you look at this
scene, it's basically identical. For
instance, she's cut in half. She's
bleeding out and she's dying. But her
words are the exact opposite of what her
words were in the cave when everybody
went crazy. And this she's like, I will
continue to um hold on to the pain for
Anastasia for she doesn't have to feel
it. Basically, she's not allowing
Anastasia to come back and uh take
control of the body. She is forcing
Anastasia to stay down for she doesn't
have to feel the pain while they're
dying. And what this indicates here,
there there's a big big thing, a big
detail is that Anastasia can come back
like and in this moment it's implied
heavily that Anastasia could return
right now and feel everything and be
alive and talking, but Fox Akidna is not
allowing it. That that's a big one. Now,
the reason why I'm bringing up the cave
scene is because if you remember when
she started going crazy and begging
Subaru, I don't want to die.
This is in the Japanese text. Okay. So,
if you're not a Japanese reader, you
might not catch this, but the speech
pattern of Akidna or Anastasia's body
changed in the cave when that scene
happened, implying that Anastasia was
back and she was feeling everything
while she was dying, which basically
implied that Akidna abandoned Anastasia
in that moment. She she allowed
Anastasia to feel all the pain while she
ran away. That that's basically what
happened. And so everything about this
situation is screwed up because it gives
so much more context to the previous
episodes and just how demented the
myasma made them. So yeah, I just I
wanted to point that one out. That is
definitely something that will fly over
people's heads and not a lot of people
will know. Now with that being said, you
have to wonder what the hell is even
going on. I mean, you have a sudden
scorpion appear. You have like a bunch
of different uh like uh um beasts like
demons basically like the the the
horsemen people appearing like you know
in the middle of the tower and Julius is
fighting them. Reed obviously appears.
There's just there's a lot of basically
like uh bad stuff going on and like why
is even here? Like that that's a
obviously a big elephant in the room.
Like what we know Sauta only appears if
Return by Deaf has been discovered.
So what's going on with that? There's a
there's a you know like what is going on
with that? So there's a lot of question
marks, a lot of mysteries, a lot of like
no answers with this finale, which is
fair because obviously that's why we
have another season coming up in a few
months which will answer all these
questions. So I will just I will leave
it at that, man. Like what a absolute
phenomenal
season, man. I I got to say
this might be the best episode. Like if
not I put it side by side with Subaru
carrying Rim in the snow with like Puck
coming out of the mansion. You you know
what episode I'm talking about with
Sloth's introduction.
I would put this episode potentially
side by side with that because this is
really a masterpiece. There's so much
going on here with the underlying themes
that if you really have paid attention
to ReZero and just paid attention to the
characters and stuff. This episode is
just a a masterpiece of writing. That's
not even getting into everything else.
Like that's not getting into the audio.
That's not getting into the animation,
the music, and everything. Just strictly
the writing. Masterpiece level work. And
it doesn't try to hold your hand and
treat you like you're a child. It it
expects you to understand what's going
on. I appreciate that. But uh I will I
will leave it at that. Thank you so much
for watching my videos. I I've been
really enjoying talking about ReZero and
it's sad it's already over, but here we
are. So be safe, stay healthy. She be
out.
