[0:00] what is power scaling is a question that [0:03] is often asked by those unfamiliar with [0:05] the concept but truthfully it's [0:07] something you already do on a daily [0:09] basis and you just don't know it how you [0:11] may ask well let's talk about it now I'm [0:14] sure everyone who is watching this video [0:16] I can almost guarantee has once asked [0:18] the question of who would win and who [0:20] can blame you it has been a topic of [0:22] conversation ever since the dawn of [0:24] humankind whether your level of sports [0:26] video games action movies or even if [0:29] you're the typical person person that [0:30] loves to measure themselves up against [0:32] others you're probably subconsciously [0:34] thinking about the most likely outcome [0:36] between you and someone else duking it [0:37] out which is just basic human instinct [0:40] and that's essentially what power [0:42] Skilling is in a nutshell since what [0:44] you're doing is making a predictive [0:45] model of a possible future between a [0:48] contest of two opposing forces and just [0:50] like any other means of making a [0:52] scientific hypothesis we do this by [0:55] utilizing all the present and available [0:57] information about them in order to come [0:59] to more precise conclusion or more [1:02] specifically in regards to fictional [1:05] power Skilling we observe the many [1:07] different Feats and statements made [1:09] about the two within a story to help you [1:11] better predict an outcome but what are [1:14] Feats and statements well Feats are more [1:17] so the specific accomplishments made and [1:19] or shown by the character while [1:21] statements are simply written or stated [1:24] declarations about them for example a [1:27] fate would be seeing a character lift [1:29] 100 lb while a statement would be saying [1:32] he's the strongest guy in the gym now [1:34] sometimes Feats and statements could be [1:36] one and the same and it really depends [1:38] on what's being shown or said to better [1:40] analyze what the truth behind the matter [1:43] really is which brings up the ever most [1:45] important word in regards to these types [1:47] of conversations which is context as [1:51] context not only determines what the [1:53] circumstances were that led to said feed [1:55] or statement occurring but it's what [1:58] provides us with enough information to [2:00] determine what is most likely the truth [2:03] behind what's occurring for those [2:05] unaware context is defined as the [2:08] circumstances that form the setting for [2:10] an event statement or idea and in terms [2:13] of which can be fully understood and [2:15] assessed for example if this one random [2:18] dude at the gym says he can lift as much [2:20] as the muscle bro in the corner or run [2:22] as fast as the track girl on the [2:23] treadmill if you don't actually know who [2:26] he is and what he's capable of you have [2:29] no way of BU if Ying this declaration of [2:31] strength and speed without having him [2:33] demonstrate or prove himself however if [2:36] you were given his background info or [2:38] the context of who he really is you [2:41] would have enough information to [2:42] determine whether or not he's telling [2:44] the truth without having to wait or ask [2:47] him to prove his strength and sometimes [2:49] we have to have these types of [2:51] discussions Whenever there are two [2:53] popular characters that haven't even [2:54] fought within their own respective [2:56] series and especially when two [2:58] characters that don't exist in the same [3:00] series that we would want to know who [3:02] would more likely win if they were to [3:03] fight since an official crossover where [3:06] both series merge the cannon is unlikely [3:08] to happen if not impossible these types [3:11] of discussions are called inverse [3:13] scaling and crossers scaling with one [3:16] more delving into the rules and scaling [3:18] between characters inside their own [3:19] series while the other delves more into [3:22] the exact quantifications and [3:24] measurements of a character's abilities [3:26] and strengths in order to better compare [3:28] them outside their own series series now [3:31] there's a lot of nuance when discussing [3:33] the differences between these two types [3:34] of scaling which you can find out in my [3:36] first original video what is power [3:38] Skilling or wait for a future video if [3:41] you're interested and before we end this [3:44] quick video I figured it be best to [3:46] address the power Skilling Subs crowd [3:48] for a second or as we have dubbed them [3:51] as the anti- power skillers now whether [3:54] or not you like to engage within power [3:56] Skilling discussions is up to you and [3:58] honestly you're not at all required to [4:00] be from the community to power scale or [4:02] be a power scaler especially since I [4:04] said at the start of the video Power [4:06] scaling isn't only limited to fiction it [4:09] is not a concept you can simply pretend [4:11] it doesn't exist just because you want [4:13] to disassociate from it and yes the term [4:16] itself power scaling is most often [4:19] associated with scaling fictional [4:21] characters but the idea of asking the [4:23] question who would win is what it stems [4:25] from if you ever talk about stuff like [4:27] that you're actively engaging with it [4:30] whether you want to admit it or not it's [4:32] like saying you don't think math exists [4:34] or hate math but then are asked a simple [4:36] math problem and you answer you just use [4:39] math and look I get it the community [4:42] isn't the best and it gets incredibly [4:44] toxic at times but what community [4:46] doesn't when it comes to standing for [4:48] your home team or whoever you favor the [4:51] most this type of behavior isn't only [4:54] exclusive to just the versus Battle or [4:56] power Skilling communities and I think [4:58] it's unfair to C everyone who power [5:00] scills under the same lens and it's even [5:03] worse to blame them for your inability [5:05] to have your own opinions about the [5:07] series and a power Skilling aspect yes [5:10] there are some people that take this too [5:12] seriously and yes there are some who [5:14] take it too far no one denies that [5:16] you're not better than everyone because [5:18] you don't engage in a children's [5:20] playground conversation just because you [5:23] don't play of kids toys anymore doesn't [5:25] make you any more or less mature than [5:27] everyone else it's how you engage and [5:29] present yourself within these [5:30] conversations that determine your [5:32] maturity in conclusion power Skilling is [5:35] us trying our best to use the [5:37] information available to us to make a [5:39] possible future prediction or predictive [5:41] model to answer the question who would [5:43] win that's pretty much the general gist [5:45] of it of what power Skilling is and if [5:48] you wish to see more short videos like [5:49] this one make sure to like And subscribe [5:51] and comment down below what kind of [5:53] videos you want
