> Source: [Christopher Nolan, Shrek 5, Spielberg… Universal CinemaCon Panel LIVE REACTION!](https://youtube.com/watch?v=oocwl5XdjEk)

## Summary

The video is a live reaction stream from New Rockstars covering the Universal Pictures panel at CinemaCon 2025. The hosts discuss breaking news from the event, focusing on major reveals for Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey,' Steven Spielberg's 'Disclosure Day,' and other Universal projects. While initially hyped for 'Shrek 5' and other future installments, the panel largely centered on these two major 2026 releases, with no 'Shrek 5' trailer shown.

### Key Points

- **Stream Begins with Casual Banter** [0:00] — The hosts start the stream with off-topic chatter about body heat and greetings before settling into the main content.
- **CinemaCon Context & Universal's Slate** [8:01] — The stream sets the stage for CinemaCon, explaining that it's an industry trade show for theater owners. They preview Universal's expected big reveals, including 'The Odyssey,' 'Minions and Monsters,' and potential films like 'The Mummy' and 'Fauler-in-law.'
- **'Shrek 5' Hype and Predictions** [13:11] — The hosts share their excitement and predictions for 'Shrek 5,' hoping for a longer teaser or a two-part announcement. They also discuss other Universal properties like 'Kung Fu Panda 5' and 'How to Train Your Dragon 2.'
- **Eric Voss Tweets from the Panel** [24:31] — The stream uses tweets from Eric Voss, who is physically at the panel in Las Vegas, to relay live updates. He notes the panel is at maximum capacity, contrasting with earlier days, possibly due to the 'Nolan effect.'
- **Snoop Dogg & Biopic Announcement** [44:28] — Snoop Dogg takes the stage to announce a biopic he's producing with Universal and Brian Grazer, with Jonathan Davis cast as a young Snoop Dogg. The film will begin production in summer 2025 for a 2027 release.
- **'The Odyssey' Cast and IMAX Details** [57:28] — Christopher Nolan presents 'The Odyssey,' revealing a massive cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and more. He announces the film is shot 100% on IMAX, a first for him, making it the 'largest and sharpest' film in theaters.
- **'The Odyssey' Footage Recap** [78:48] — Eric Voss provides a detailed description of the 'Odyssey' footage shown at the panel, including Odysseus washing ashore, the Trojan horse sequence, and a montage of intense moments. The description evokes 'Zero Dark Thirty in sandals.'
- **Secondhand News on 'Other Mommy' & 'Violent Night 2'** [108:21] — The hosts relay news from the panel about Universal's horror slate, including a trailer for 'Other Mommy' starring Jessica Chastain, described as having the tone of 'Smile 2,' and a red band trailer for 'Violent Night 2' with David Harbour getting bloody in a mall.
- **Steven Spielberg & 'Disclosure Day'** [128:35] — Steven Spielberg takes the stage to discuss 'Disclosure Day,' his 35th feature. He is presented with the America 250 award by the MPA. He discusses his personal belief in UAPs and how that inspired the film, promising more truth than fiction.
- **Panel Ends with 'Disclosure Day' Trailer Description** [158:41] — Eric Voss describes the new 'Disclosure Day' trailer shown at the panel, revealing key plot points: a crypto-security expert whistleblower, a meteorologist speaking alien clicks, and a possible connection to Spielberg's own 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind.'
- **Wrap-Up and Tomorrow's Preview** [164:26] — The stream concludes with a recap of the day's events and a preview of the next day's Disney panel, which is expected to bring major news on 'Avengers: Doomsday' and other projects. The hosts sign off, encouraging viewers to tune in tomorrow.

### Conclusion

The Universal panel was dominated by Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' and Steven Spielberg's 'Disclosure Day,' both of which were presented with massive hype and detailed footage. While some anticipated announcements like 'Shrek 5' did not materialize, the panel successfully built excitement for two of next year's biggest blockbusters.

and more laptops. This week is a very
special week. Cineacon, the world's
largest trade show for the motion
picture theater industry is happening
right now in Las Vegas. Eric Voss and
Jessica Clemens are there for us.
They're today is the Universal panel.
They're going to be giving us live
updates via Twitter and Slack and every
other mode of textbased communication we
have with them so that we can give you
all the live news from the panel as it
breaks. I'm Alex Berg. With me today on
the bench, Zach Huddleston. Say hi,
Zach.
>> I voice most of the minions. Hi, Zach.
>> And Abby Fel. Say hi, Abby.
>> Hi, Abby.
>> You can say hi, Zabby. That's okay. Uh,
behind the camera as always making
everything go is Brian Kim.
>> Yeah.
Um, we're going to be keeping a close
eye on the chat, trying to get to as
many super chats as we possibly can. If
we missed yours, it is not personal.
We're just overwhelmed. Look how many
screens we're dealing with here. Um,
we're also going to be looking out for
questions from members. Uh, I see we've
got a super chat now thanks to Brian's
uh, new high-tech signaling system.
Sarah Hatchadorian. Hello, Sarah. We'll
be beefing later. Uh, $2 super chat over
under 20%. Eric Eavos gushes about his
love for Nolan.
>> That's over. Way over.
>> That's over.
>> Over 100%.
>> And and and you're uh you're spoiling
maybe the headline movie of of this
panel. Sarah Hatch, Dorian, Christopher,
No One's The Odyssey.
>> Yeah. So, let's talk about what it is we
expect to see, right? Today's big panel
is Universal. It's starting momentarily
or maybe started moments ago. Uh so,
we're expecting some big news about the
Odyssey, Minions, and Monsters,
potentially disclosure day. There's a
few other properties that we could be
hearing about today. uh things like
Fauler-in-law, Robert Edgar's Vervolf
movie, uh potentially How to Train Your
Dragon 2. Um so there's I mean I feel
like it's not a a wild prediction to say
Odyssey is going to dominate the big
reveals from today's Cineacon trailer,
right?
>> Yeah. This is kind of a Universal is
kind of by output the largest studio in
Hollywood. They tend to put out the most
movies on a yearly basis. This is a
little bit of a quieter year from them
as far as like their big franchises.
Yeah, there's no Jurassic movie this
year. There's no Fast and Furious movie
this year. We'll talk about some of the
stuff they might have coming next year
or the year after. Uh but it's
definitely a year for them that is going
to be dominated by kind of
>> two aour movies, Christopher Nolan's The
Odyssey, Steven Spielberg's Disclosure
Day, and then um a couple of their
animated franchises, mainly Minions and
Monsters.
>> Yeah. all of our favorites for best
picture and uh best uh box office crown.
But um those are the big ones. And then
they might be teeing up each studio kind
of behaves a little differently in these
in these panels. They might spend a lot
of time teeing up their 2027 calendar as
well.
>> Very likely. Very likely. Um Abby, you
and Brian have been talking you've been
talking a big game about Shrek 5 in the
office before the the panel started.
What is your dream news that we could
get about Shrek 5 today?
>> I would love to see a longer teaser
>> that comes out online
>> and maybe even moves the date forward.
>> Okay. Yeah. Can we get Shrek 5 soon or
is the
>> Can we get Can we go back to the
original date?
>> What if What if they announce it's a
two-parter? You know what I mean? It's
>> in three and four.
>> Yeah. Are they going to Infinity War
Endgame it and we get just backtoback uh
or or Wicked Wicked for good, you know,
back to basically a Shrek a year. Um and
and and that's a so Universal is this
kind of big umbrella studio underneath
it. It distributes for some smaller
studios, namely DreamWorks, this the
home of both How to Train Your Dragon,
Shrek, Kung Fu Panda. Maybe we get some
Kung Fu Panda 5 news here. Um and and
other properties. They distribute
Illumination currently has the number
one movie at the box office Super Mario
Galaxy and also does the Minions and
Despicable Me movies and and as well as
some others. Sing I believe is an
Illumination title.
>> I mean between Super Mario Galaxy and
then if the buzz we've heard about
Odyssey and honestly the footage we've
seen so far from Odyssey via trailers is
to be believed. you know, ha one studio
having a movie like Super Mario Galaxy
and the Odyssey in a single year, like
that's their year, you know, like all
this other stuff
>> be two top 10 movies right there.
>> Yeah, that's that's already huge, you
know. So, it does feel like a little bit
of a softer year for Universal,
certainly in comparison to like what
Sony is presenting or, you know, what
we're expecting from Disney tomorrow.
But they've already kind of like come
out the gate swinging pretty hard with
Super Mario Galaxy
>> and like reasonably Super Mario Galaxy
might stay the biggest movie of the year
until we're maybe till we get to
Spider-Man,
>> I think. So,
>> you know, pretty deep into the summer.
Um, and then it's still a question mark.
Yeah, it's uh it's interesting. So they
they have DreamWorks, they have
Illumination. They also distribute the
movies of Blumhouse,
>> which if you're not if that's not a
household name for you, that's basically
60% of the horror franchises in
Hollywood and a lot of the kind of like
breakout smaller horror movies.
>> I am seeing a super chat flag from
Brian. So let's go to the super chats.
Loi girl, lore enthusiast, $10 donation.
Thank you, Loi Girl, Laura Enthusiast.
My predictions. Shrek 5 trailer. Sing
three announcements.
>> Uh, Five Nights at Freddy's 3 info. How
to Train Your Dragon 2 live action. Yep.
>> Trailers for Minions and Monsters, and
of course, more info on the Odyssey.
>> Those feel like very solid predictions.
Loi Girl, lore enthusiast. In fact, I
kind of wish you would have thrown in a
curveball there.
>> Yeah, curveball.
>> Like uh Steven Spielberg breakdancing on
stage or something. You know what I
mean? like only because those are those
are so solid and probably so accurate.
Looks like we have another uh super
chat. Uh Angel Jorio, uh my predictions
for Universal news about Jurassic. I
think this is really interesting.
There's currently not another Jurassic
movie slated no
>> for Universal. But un uh Jurassic World
Rebirth, despite being
>> not a good movie,
>> made a ton of money last year. I think
ended up being a top five box office
film of 2025. Uh that franchise is alive
and well. We will get more probably
starring Scarlett Johansson. Yeah, we're
going to be talking about some other
Scarlett Johansson projects here in a
moment. But uh that feels like a solid
prediction. How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Yes, that is tentatively I think slated
for 2027 as of now. Fauler-in-law coming
up later. And then Fast 11, I think it
is currently being called um Fast
Forever.
>> Yes. Yes, is the working target
>> of Fast 11 and that is tentatively
slated for 2028 at this point.
>> The the the race in my mind were not for
pink slips but just for pride. There is
a Fast and Furious roller coaster
currently under construction at
Universal Studios uh here in Los
Angeles. Will we get a completed roller
coaster before we get Fast Forever?
>> Yes, correct.
>> You're right. Like I I think I think
that's that's kind of the schedule
everything's on. And and so as as as
Berg was mentioning before, we're going
to be relaying information as it comes
in. Our our main method of
communication, Eric Voss and Jessica
Clemens are sitting in the room where
these presentations are taking place
where these studio executives and
directors and actors are coming out
where they're showing these clips at the
Sony panel on Monday. They showed clips
for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Beyond
the Spider-Verse, and other things uh
Resident Evil that have not been
released to the public. Yes. So, all
anybody is going to get is Eric's uh
furiously typed out Twitter description
of these things.
>> Yeah. And we've gotten quite a bit of
description. Uh let's take this time
before the panel really begins in to do
a quick roundup of the weekend news from
Cineacon. So far, Monday started off
strong with a Sony panel that featured,
as Zach mentioned, new looks at
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a scene from
Beyond the Spider-Verse, in addition to
footage from Zack Craig's Resident Evil
movie, and updates on Zelda, Hell
Divers, Bloodborne, and Jumanji 4. Uh,
Tuesday night, we covered the WB panel
where there was some new Supergirl
footage, the first seven minutes of Dune
part 3. Uh, plus a look at Clayface. We
also got a lot more info on the
Alejandro Inoritu, Tom Cruz film Digger.
uh casting news for Hunt for Gollum and
Signs of Life from Practical Magic 2. Um
so we and and these are just the ones
that realistically I could remember off
the top of my head when I was writing
the script before the show started.
There's a lot more news that comes out,
especially with WB. They dropped kind of
like in a montage news about an Oceans
11 prequel
>> starring uh Bradley Cooper and Margot
Robbie directed by Bradley Cooper.
>> Yeah. Uh, also the revenge of uh uh La
Lurona
uh which is part of the expanded
conjuring verse I believe evil dead
wrath uh slated for release.
>> Not to be confused. So that's we're
already talking two Evil Deads in the
future.
>> We got Evil Dead Burn this year and then
they've already slated another Evil Dead
after that.
>> Yeah, Final Destination 7. Uh Zack
Kger's The Flood movie, which is a
sci-fi movie but not related to the
Flood from Halo. For those of you who
remember the Halo games, reasonable
confusion a lot of people are making
given Zack Kger's uh gamer bonafides,
but it's not a Halo movie, we're being
told.
>> Weapons prequel Glattis uh uh coming out
September 8th, 2028. We got a I got a
tweet coming in here. Okay, we have a
very perfectly lit photo of Eric Voss
saying he's seated for the Universal
panel at Cineacon. He's going to be live
tweeting every update about the Odyssey
Disclosure Day, Shrek 5, Minions and
Monsters, and everything else we see and
learn.
>> He looks really excited.
>> He does. Seated and tweeted, Mr. Eric
Boss right there. Um, and again, we have
the exclusive
ability to read that tweet over live
stream.
>> Uh, nowhere else. Nowhere else on
YouTube are you going to see one of Eric
Voss' co-workers read one of his tweets
on a live stream. Let's before the the
stream starts, I want to do a plug for
our live show that's happening in uh in
LA on Friday night. On Friday, April
17th at 7:00 p.m. Uh the New Rockstars
crew is going to be doing a live staged
reading of MorbiiUs uh with special
guest Carl Tart. Um uh you can get
tickets for that. There's a link in the
description to this video or you can go
to ucbdy.com.
Uh uh if you are in LA, come in person.
If you're not in LA, you can get a live
stream ticket and watch it from the
comfort of your own home. Or if you're
in LA and you're like, "Parking over
there can be iffy, you know, like
>> come don't don't don't buy into the
parking."
>> The parking is actually very easy. You
can park in the Gellson's lot. They
fired the security guard who used to
give you tickets for us.
>> Is that true?
>> It is true. It's good inside. The tricks
you learn there all the time. Uh it's
going to be a great great time. We're
all going to be there. Eric will be
there. It'll be a lot of fun. Um, also
really, you know, whatever, all these
big Hollywood movies, that's cool and
all, but we should get to the the
biggest news. And that's yesterday on
the Warner Brothers stream, okay? I made
a couple statements
that the person who um has the largest
super chat o over the course of the week
or or sure, we'll just say yesterday or
whatever, and the most cumulative super
chats, I will drink a beer in their
honor during the Disney panel. Now, you
know, I was kind of putting the cart
before the horse there, assuming I could
find a bureau. Assuming, you know, I
could consume a bureau. I don't know.
>> Well, guess what, folks?
>> I've got a 12ver of bureau right here.
Okay, look at this. Four different
varieties of Tom Holland's non-alcoholic
beverage. Okay, I've got a noon wheat, a
double tasty west coast style IPA,
Kingston Golden Pills, and an Edge Hill
Hazy IPA. And I will consume at least
one of each of these styles. Okay. Over
>> four bureaus,
>> four bureaus will get consumed during
that Disney panel. I might, depending on
how things go today, if somebody
impresses me with the quality of a of a
of a comment, right? If a if a really
groundbreaking super chat comes in, I
see we got one in the hopper right now.
I will consume a bureau spontaneously.
Okay. For you.
>> Just for you.
>> How about what will it take for you to
shotgun a bureau?
>> Okay. And to shotgun a bureau.
Everybody's been very generous. We've
had a great active comment section for
the last two live streams. If we can
cross $400 in live streams today.
>> Shotgun a bureau.
>> I will shotgun a bureau by the end of
this paint. I tell you I will join if if
Z if we get to the shotgunning bureau
stage of things I who cannot burp will
also shotgun a bureau.
>> Whoa. I know.
>> Is that I mean is that healthy for you?
>> Definitely not.
>> If college is any indication it's going
to be a problem but I will do it for you
the fans. Uh speaking of the fans we
have a super chat. Uh Brian's been
patiently flagging us for Christian
unpronouncable two Canadian dollars. Did
you guys watch Daredevil? Yes, I did.
>> Uh, normally on Breakroom, we do an
after show every week for Daredevil
where we go through it. I I will say uh
my spoiler-free review for those of you
who have not watched it. Uh, a lot of
stuff in the present day I enjoyed.
Vincent Denofio remains a phenomenal
actor. A lot of the flashback stuff I
could have done without. I would have
rather focused on the present day.
Agreed.
>> That's my spoiler for those who haven't
watched it. Another super chat uh coming
in right now. Uh we're getting word from
Brian Sarah Hatchadorian $2. We need
stakes for all 12 bureaus to get
>> You know what? If we do $1,000 in super
chats in this stream, I we'll get
through that 12ver. Okay. Whether Abby
wants to or not, she will help us get
through this 12-pack today. Okay,
>> that's I don't even drink regular beer
anymore. So, the thought of going
through like a full beer,
>> the only risk to us is the the volume of
carbonation that we will be going to be.
Maybe you'll burp.
>> I I hope not because it's going to be a
nightmare if I do. Here's the Here's the
That's the carrot is the bureau. Here's
the stick.
>> If we get less than $100 in super chats,
I'm going to down a bottle of
Jagermeister and air how I feel about
everything.
>> No, people want that.
>> Don't want to incentivize.
>> No, they don't. That's the Trust me.
That's the money. That's the sticks.
Will they? Because right now from me
bitty, uh, we got a $5 super chat for
the shotgun fund. You see that? We're
already blowing past.
>> Okay.
>> The the y the Jerremeister cliff. Um,
>> sorry if you have to shotgun some.
>> Oh, we got we got more more super chats
coming in.
>> Shout out from the 904. Hey, Duval. Is
it Are you a North Fidian? Mad Matt 904.
Uh, Zack, you said the other day uh that
a county around you growing up was dry.
Which county was it? Sani County. I grew
up in Columbia County, right on the
Georgia border in North Florida. The
county next to us, which was garbage.
Everybody always thinks that the town
next to your town is a trash town, but
this was true in my case. Live Oak,
Florida, and Swanny County. They were a
dry county, a dry city. I don't know if
they still are to this day because I
refuse to go back. But um shout out back
to you to the 904. I had a 904 area code
for half my childhood and then I guess
the population grew so I switched to a
386
>> uh area code and and the fine folks like
yourself Mad Matt got to keep the 904.
>> We got another super chat coming in
here. Uh thank you Brian Ryan Snowden
with a 420 super chat. My man 420 is not
until Monday. Uh Shrek is love, Shrek is
life.
>> Okay.
I have not watched it. I watched it.
This got brought up yesterday.
>> I need this to be explained to me.
>> And I went and found it. It's only like
a minute and change long. It's a short
video.
>> Whoever the genius is that put this
together, it's like fake found footage
with like a Nickelodeon logo on it for
no reason. Uh, it's great. And you know
what? It's It's not safe for work, but
it's also not not safe for work.
>> It's just it's life.
>> Do I need audio or can I watch this
without audio?
>> I mean, the audio is pretty good, too,
but
>> the audio is is the quo. Yeah, I see.
>> That's like OG, you are at a sleepover
and YouTube is a new and you're like,
let's watch YouTube videos. What's on
YouTube? And it was Shrek is Shrek his
life.
>> Perfect length. It's very funny. Uh,
let's talk about a couple things we're
expecting to see here while Wilbur
catches up. Oh, we got a tweet. Incoming
tweet. Here we go.
>> uh from Eric Voss. Uh ushers have told
us in our section of the Dolby Coliseum
that they're expecting maximum capacity
uh for today's Universal Studios Focus
Features panel, which was not the case
for us for the WB or Sony panels. What a
flex from Universal. Uh it could just be
that we're later in the week and more
press have made it to Las Vegas for the
final two days of the conference. Or is
it the Nolan effect?
>> Could be. Could be. I do think it I I
think it has a an impact. So, the
Cineacon goes through Thursday. Kind of
Wednesday and Thursday are kind of the
bigger days. Tomorrow, we get two major
studio panels. We get um both Paramount
and Disney are tomorrow. Uh so, it's
kind of the biggest day. Um but today's
also a really big day. Um,
>> I I do think The Odyssey
feels like it is going to clobber awards
season, you know, and it's it's
>> and part of that is it's the kind of
movie that Hollywood loves to celebrate,
you know, this big sweeping historical
mythological epic. Um, but part of it
too is like Universal is a studio that
has the money and the clout to really
campaign for awards, which is a part of
awards season that may be advisable to a
lot of people,
>> especially when you consider this is a
convention for theater owner and
operators, right? The people that run
movie theaters, they really want a movie
that is wildly popular, is very
cinematic with big special effects and
movie stars and all that kind of stuff,
and gets awards, right? Like as much as
I enjoyed Anora, I think that is the
all-time lowest grossing best picture
winner from two years ago.
>> I loved it. But yeah, it it wasn't a
vlog.
>> Very few people saw that. Very few
people have still seen it. Um, speaking
of not safe for work. Uh, thank you,
Anora.
>> We can watch a little Anora at work.
>> It depends on your work. It really
depends on your work. We got a super
chat coming in.
>> Okay. Loi girl lore enthusiast $2 super
chat. Odyssey vers Doomsday will be
crazy. That's right. That's right.
>> I think that day has a chance to set
historical
>> box office.
>> And you know what? If if these movie
studios had real cojones, Disney and
Universal would have run their panels at
the same time, too.
>> You know what I mean? They would have
done a Doomsday uh Cinema Con headto
head. You know,
>> where do we think Eric and Jess would
have gone?
>> Oh, they would have been torn in half.
Yeah.
>> I don't know. Uh that would have been a
real Sophie's Choice kind of
>> moment. I don't know if Eric, Man, that
is that is so interesting because like I
don't know if Eric would be able to
resist the chance to see Christopher
Nolan.
>> Yes. As much as he needs to be there for
Doomsday stuff. Uh but real quick and
and the the Universal panel is scheduled
to start any minute now. Uh but this is
kind of the slate for Universal uh as
far as we know. They might announce some
new stuff, but kind of in order of
release this year. Uh, in July we've got
Disclosure Day from Steven Spielberg,
Minions and Monsters later in July. In
August, One Night Only, and this is a
movie that doesn't have a trailer out
yet, but it is a fun concept. I think
it's Callum Turner and Maya Hawk, and
it's it's uh young singles in New York
uh try to hook up on the one day of the
year in which sex is legal.
>> Oh,
>> it's like The Purge, but sex. I I don't
know. It sounds like a fun weird
concept. Um, Forgotten Island. This is
the um DreamWorks Animation movie. They
did a full screening of this movie
earlier in the day at
>> Cineon. Filipino movie. Yes,
>> it's from the I believe it's from the
the same people that did uh Puss and
Boots Last Wish. So it has that kind of
like very uh cool, you know, um
animation style. Uh so that's coming out
in September. Um Other Mommy is a horror
movie from Blumhouse starring Jessica
Chastain coming out in October.
Fauler-in-law. I think we're gonna get
maybe a full trailer, uh, some extended
footage. I wouldn't doubt if we see
Ariana Grande, maybe Ben Stiller, Robert
Dairo, uh, in the hall there. Violent
Night 2, David Harbor Returns, uh, and
then Robert Edgar's Werewolf. Those are
kind of like the known, um, releases.
>> I would be surprised if we got much on,
as much as I would love to, Robert
Edgar's Werewolf. Uh, thank you, Nawi,
for becoming a rock star. Uh just
because you know those none no Robert
Edgars movie tends to have a ton of
press behind it you know like no ferratu
didn't really
>> no fatu kind of a lot of people saw no
fraatu it was kind of a success
>> it it was but it wasn't like a big media
blitz you know like in the same way that
like if if you live in LA there's mummy
posters all over the place
>> but you know if if they're and they may
not mention some of these movies they
may not do a lot or kind of might run
through them fast uh and and Then
looking forward, yesterday Warner
Brothers again talked about multiple
movies that are farther out. On Monday,
Sony was talking about Spider-Verse.
It's not coming out till the next year.
So, the 2027 slate for Universal where
we might get some news on this stuff.
We've got a uh Oh, first we've got an
update here coming in from Eric.
>> Oh.
>> Oh, big update. Okay, here I'll read it
from uh I'll read it from my laptop
here. Here's an inside tidbit from the
room at these studio showcases at
Cineacon. Sometimes you'll see a green
laser shining on random seats around the
theater. At first, you think, "What punk
troll brought a laser pointer to this?"
Until you'll realize it's actually the
theater's sophisticated antipiriracy
technology at work.
>> Staffers reportedly use night vision to
spot people using their phones to try to
record the screen and then zap. Lasers
scramble and black out their phone
screens and shame them. Lol. Every seat
in this theater is being observed. Some
are even speculated it may be automated.
That's why no footage is leaking. Get
ready for this tech to be rolled out in
theaters everywhere.
>> Uh orwell you crazy bastard. You
couldn't dream of this, could you?
>> But are we okay with the surveillance
state as long as it prevents uh leaks
and piracy? I don't know. I guess
>> can the surveillance state panopticon
save cinemas at last?
>> Uh but a couple movies that we know are
coming from Universal in the near
future. Um yeah, a Scarlett Johansson
starring Exorcist film. I don't think
this is canon with the recent Exorcist
movie that came out and was on Netflix,
but I I could be wrong there.
>> Is it more of a reboot?
>> I think it's a reboot or a direct sequel
from the original. I It's something like
that. I don't know. Maybe we'll find
out. How to Train Your Dragon 2, we
previously mentioned that. Shrek 5. We
mentioned that. A liveaction Miami Vice
unrelated to the Colin Frell Jamie Fox
uh um installment. Um there is an
untitled DreamWorks movie scheduled to
come out next year. That could be Kung
Fu Panda 5. That could be Sing 3 or Sing
is maybe not. I don't know. Uh the the
Daniels, the writer directors of
Everything Everywhere All at Once. They
supposedly have a movie coming out next
year, though they may not have a star
for that movie. Uh, we got a super chat
coming in. Um, thank you so much, Geek
Ledger. Uh, I wonder if we'll hear
anything about the Murder She Wrote
reboot with Jamie Lee Curtis. A director
announcement could be cool. I was just
about to mention that your timing is
perfect, Geek Ledger. Yeah, there is a
Murder She Wrote film already slated for
December of next year. Yeah. From
Universal, which is really fun. And then
sometime beyond next year, presumably
2028 or beyond, Fast Forever, the next
Fast and Furious movie.
>> And the final Fast and Furious movie, we
think.
>> So, we've been told. Yeah.
>> Um, a Mummy movie, not to be confused
with Lee Cronin's Mummy, which is coming
out in like the next couple weeks. This
is a Mummy movie starring Brendan
Frasier and Rachel Weiss, I believe,
based off that part.
>> And I believe bringing back a lot of the
original cast. the guy who played her
brother in the original movie. I think
the guy who played like the, you know,
sort of like fake priest with all the
different uh things.
>> The guy with the face tattoos. Um and
potentially this long delayed Jordan
Peele movie. It's been a minute since
Nope. We want to see more Jordan Peele,
please. Um so those are and and then
whatever the next installment in the
Jurassic franchise is going to be and
they probably got 10 other surprise
movies that we've never heard of.
Absolutely.
>> Uh we can only hope they got some cool
stuff cooking for us. Um so we're as we
wait the panel is scheduled to start 400
p.m. Pacific, so it might be getting
underway right now. We'll be uh
refreshing here. Uh any news from um
Eric and the new Rockstar team in the
room. And again, I've got a 12-pack of
bureaus under the table here.
>> You guys, we might be shotguning bureaus
if we get up to 400 in super chats.
>> It's a little bit of a threat. It's a
little bit of a promise. Okay, those
bureaus might get consumed. Let's talk a
little bit about what's going on
tomorrow because we will be back
tomorrow. Brian, I don't know if you
have the schedule graphic, uh, easy to
pull up. Um, but tomorrow's big panel is
going to be Disney, uh, which is we're
going to be live at 2:00 p.m. Pacific
time. We're expecting major Doomsday
news in addition to updates on Mando and
Grou, uh, Ryan Gosling Starf Fighter
project, and more. We're going to be
covering that live. So, set up your
notification, set an alarm if you don't
want to miss anything. Uh we're going to
be uh right here with the same sort of
Eric on the ground.
>> I would say that one is going to be
extra juicy. Not only because bureaus
are going to get consumed, but so after
today's panel, but we will no longer be
live. Later tonight, there's an MGM
Amazon panel happening. And then early
tomorrow, there's a Paramount panel
happening. We're going to be recapping
both of those in our live stream
tomorrow during the Disney panel. We've
got a super chat coming through.
>> Um
>> Abby, I think you should read this one.
You guys are awesome. New rock stars for
life. PS. Abby
>> hard eyes. That boy just
>> or uh
>> and that's him
drinking breakfast.
>> It looks like his breakfast is liquor.
That boy. You're not going to get enough
protein that way. You're going to crash
around noon.
>> Uh we got another super chat. Uh
>> unless it's bureau.
>> Unless it's a bureau. Yeah, bureaus are
loaded with protein.
>> Okay. Our our friend Loi girl enthusiast
coming through. Faker-in-law has been
shown, I assume.
>> Oh, the just poster has been shown.
>> Poster of Fauler-in-law. Okay. Yeah.
Thank you. Um, yeah. And I think there
was a little like a teaser clip I saw
circulating online of Ariana Grande
getting the lie detector put to her by
Robert Jiro. Um, I believe is it is she
playing Ben Stiller's daughter?
>> No, I think she's married into the
family. I see. She's dating um Skyler
>> Gazando.
>> Gazando.
>> He's playing Ben Stiller's son. Yes.
>> Got it. That makes sense. That makes
sense.
>> So, uh
>> passing of the torch in Ariana Grande
dating kind of a a short quirky guy.
Who'd believe that?
>> Who would have thought? Who would have
thought?
>> It's unrealistic.
>> Unrealistic. Uh is is Fak documentary?
Um okay, great. Thank you for everybody
participating in the chat. Again, we're
going to be here for a while, folks.
Okay, we're going to be here till this
panel concludes.
>> Silver Gun RG just became a member.
Thank you, Silver Gun RG. Yeah, if you
see some people in the chat whose names
are green, they got the little Thanos
glove next to their name. They get
special emojis and stuff. They're
members.
>> Speak of the devil. Ark Reactor 1 also
just became a YouTube member. Thank you
very much. You get the little um Yeah,
the Infinity Gauntlet next to your name.
Uh, Digital Vortex asking, "Are our are
tickets for Cineacon still $5,000 each?
Wouldn't know. We paid $1 million each."
So, the um that's a great question. And
you know, Cineacon is not technically
open to the public. This is an industry
event. Uh Eric, we've never been able to
go before. Eric actually had to go
through a kind of complicated process of
getting approved as a member of the
press. You have to be a member of an
official press organization and that's
how we were able to get our tickets this
year. So, I don't know how like public
tickets are available.
>> Uh, Eric spotted this panel's first
green shame laser and zap a second green
shame laser.
>> Whoa.
>> Uh, so
>> which I guess I he must have a laptop
open and that is how he's avoiding
getting any phone issues or something
like that. Um, as as we were mentioning
earlier, if you're just tuning in, uh,
in the room for these panels, they have
special lasers designed where if they
see somebody holding up their phone to
record the screen, it like zaps their
phone and prevents them from, um,
recording it, which is wild.
Uh, also, I'm seeing a tweet from Eric
Wemiss. For anyone asking whether Disney
will move the Avengers Doomsday release
date up to December 11th, the release
date is still December 18th on the
poster displayed at Cineacon. So, you
know, uh that's not the same as an
official announcement, but certainly
you'd think if there was anybody who
they wanted to know when the movie was
going to come out, it would be the
people who own the theater chains that
are going to be airing it. Uh if it's
saying December 18th on the poster at
Cineacon, I feel like that's kind of cut
and dried. It's done.
>> Yes.
>> Uh we got a super chat coming in here.
Um let's see. Uh JBC1
or L uh $5 super chat. Thank you, JBC.
Uh they fingers crossed they announced
the Avatar Ang movie drops tomorrow on
Paramount Plus.
>> I heard I was seeing that it kind of
leaked. It
>> did. So leaked in its entirety. Brian
wouldn't know anything about that.
>> Yeah. I mean it they there's some I
don't know how they got it, but the full
movie was leaked uh multiple times on
like Twitter, but like they're
constantly trying to take it down
>> once it's online. It's there though. It
does suck because it it has, you know,
they kind of dropped the marketing of
that movie and then they're kind of, you
know, it's now unceremoniously leaked,
which is sad. But well, hopefully
there's something for it. I don't think
it'll be on Cineacon because I think
they did take it off the theatrical
release stuff.
>> Yeah, if it was origin if it was going
to be a streaming release, they won't
talk about it uh here at the at
Cineacon.
>> Yeah, we should remind folks, especially
if you didn't join us Monday or Tuesday
for the live streams. So, Cineacon only
focuses on theatrical releases. So,
there'll be no mention of any kind of
streaming series, television, uh,
anything like that. That's going to be
interesting
>> for later tonight's Amazon MGM panel.
>> Yeah,
>> Amazon owns MGM. They put some of their
movies in theaters, but not all of them.
They have things like the Highlander
franchise. Uh, they're making all manner
of Henry Caval projects, I believe. So,
who knows what they might be talking
about later tonight. Uh, and with the
big question mark for that panel, do we
get a James Bond casting?
>> Yeah, that's the that's the big news
from MGM. I think that's that's what
people really want to hear. Um, we got
Wiggy Stardust. Just became a member for
15 months. Thank you, Wiggy Stardust.
Been here with us a while. We appreciate
you. Um, yeah. Yeah, I mean the Amazon
MGM thing is so weird because, you know,
with Spider Noir, I believe the plan is
still and and they're changing this all
the time to drop it all on MGM Plus to
try to get people to sign up for that
and then release it on Amazon regular
streaming. Our good friend uh Christian
pronouncable throwing out a super chat.
Thank you. Over 1,000 viewers. Please
like and subscribe. And again, if we hit
a certain threshold of super chats,
okay, I will chug a bureau live on
stream. We have the bureaus here in
office.
>> I've got I've got a 12 of four different
flavors of bureau. Tom Holland
personally canned these.
>> And not only will Zach chug them, but
because they're under the table, they're
not refrigerated.
Someone did comment, "Please put them in
the fridge."
>> No. No. They're slowly warming under the
table. And so the faster we can hit that
threshold,
>> the cooler they will be. Um Yeah. And
again, if we don't get it today, that's
fine. I plan on checking multiple ones
tomorrow during the epic uh Disney
panel.
Um what are what is the of the of the
properties we're going to hear about
today in this Universal panel? What are
you most excited for?
I mean, I I'm all in on Odyssey, which
is like not a deep cut, you know, that's
not like the obscure aur project that no
one's heard of from Czechoslovakia this
year or whatever, but I'm the Emily
Wilson's translation of the Odyssey. It
rips. It's so fun. It's so good.
Um, the book is fun as hell. It I I want
to see it in IMAX. I love Christopher
Nolan. The cast is huge. Like, that to
me is the thing I'm most excited for.
Uh, we got a super chat here. Keep keep
thinking, Abby. I really want to hear a
great answer from you, but we've got a
couple super chats we got to get to.
First, porcelain tanks sending in a
super chat. Thank you. Over under 20%.
I'm adding in the 20% though you did not
uh state that. Amazon does something
good for once and announces Rizamemed as
Denville News Bond. I mean,
>> love RZ Amed.
>> Love Riz Aamemed. He's going to be in
Digger. We found out yesterday. The Tom
Cruz movie. Uh, bold move. That would be
bold. Is he British? I know he has an
accent.
>> I don't know.
>> Uh I He might be British.
>> I've been in love with him since Four
Lines. He He's so goddamn
>> British. He's British.
>> Okay, there we go. British confirmed.
Makes sense. And then we have another
super chat, right? Uh Brian, uh from our
good friend Sarah Hatchorian. Okay, this
is great. I want to hear answers here,
though. Abby still has to tell us what
movie she's most looking forward to.
Apparently, there's a piano and
microphone covered up on stage. Any
crazy takes on who could guest perform?
Well, we know Ariana Grande is in a
Universal movie this year. Could she do
a little song?
>> An original Fauler-in-law soundtrack.
>> Fresh.
>> She's not known to be a piano player,
but I guess she could have an
accompaniest.
>> Yeah.
>> Also, something for Sing 3.
>> Sing three.
>> That's a great And and uh star of Sing
3, Scarlett Johansson's making multiple
um Universal franchise films. We've got
an update here. Let's go to that update.
Snoop Dogg is on stage.
>> Snoop Dogg is on stage. Okay, maybe I
guess it's for him. All right,
>> so there is a long rumored Snoop Dogg
movie like produced by Snoop Dogg at
Universal. We don't know any other
details about it. Maybe he's there to
talk about that. We've got a super chat
>> um coming through. Friend Marvel Pirate,
sorry I'm late. What is the bureau
threshold?
>> I said $400 in total super chats. I'm
trying to figure out where we are
currently.
>> I'm not sure how we'll be able to
calculate that in real time. We used to
have a method back in break room season
one and uh the technology has been lost.
But um we'll we'll figure it out. We'll
know. And you could just throw out 300
bucks right now.
Just do 399.
>> I the the piano and microphone is very
interesting. There's no Lady Gaga movies
coming out this year as far as I know.
Could it be someone random but like an
Odyssey original song?
>> Yeah. Yeah. The Oh, isn't Travis Scott
in the Odyssey when comes out and
tinkles the
>> not known for his piano work
necessarily, but he's a talented man. Um
Yeah. And it could just be maybe it's a
bit I will say um you know with
potential for Kung Fu P Kung Fu Panda 5
and currently starring in Mario Galaxy,
we got a little Jack Black serenade.
>> Uh Snoop Dogg uh backed by DJ Green
Lantern rapping Drop It Like It's Hot.
The crowd is on their feet.
>> I want footage of Eric dancing to Drop
It Like It's Hot.
>> Yes. if you get an attitude. Um, why why
is he doing this? Other than like just
to start to show off with some hype,
which I don't mind. This is a show. You
were trying to wow these people and put
on some like spectacle.
>> He did voice Cousin It in the recent
Adams Family animated films. Snoop Dogg
was Cousin It. And I believe Cousin It
raps at the end of the second one.
>> I mean,
>> I watched both of those in theaters cuz
I am a true cophile. Um,
>> or a father. Yeah. Or a father. One or
the other. Could be both.
>> They're trying to keep theaters alive.
On a oneman mission. Um. Wow. I mean,
again, it's it's not a bad idea. Give
him a good show. We got a new super chat
coming through, I believe.
>> Uh, wy offc
could be that that Adele movie. There
has been a rumored Adele movie for a
minute. Also excited for the country
movie uh country singing Glenn Powell
movie. So, yeah, Glenn Powell has a
movie coming out later this year. I
think produced by um oh uh Jud Appattow.
Yeah. About a washedup country singer.
The irony of Glenn Powell playing a
washed up country singer. What's Glenn
Powell? 36. I don't know. Uh weird to be
washed up already. But um
>> you can wa wash up is a state of mind.
That can happen to people at 14. You
know, if you try if you set your mind on
being washed up, you can make it happen.
>> That's true. That's true. Uh that could
be interesting. He could he could do
some onstage work there. We got another
super chat uh from Mad Matt 904 Duval
over under 20% Christopher Nolan's The
Iliad dog.
>> Dude, I I'll say this. I'll say I think
if the Odyssey is big enough, there is a
chance they make it. But the Iliad, the
book of the Iliad sucks. The Odyssey
rules. The Iliad is paragraph after
paragraph of like this guy was this
guy's kid. Who was this guy's kid? Who
was this guy kid? He dies. Then this guy
was this guy's kid who was this guy's
kid. dies. It's all lineages and death,
which is the point. War is just constant
death.
>> But our man Chris Nolan is not too
beholdened to following the text.
>> He's not. He can make it like Dunkirk.
He, you know, also like uh I think uh
I'm blanking on the name of the woman
who wrote Cersei and Song of Achilles,
but like Song of Achilles is a much
better version of the of the Iliad than
the Iliad is. So, like there is there is
a good story,
>> but also I I got to say as much as I
love where your head's at, Mad Matt
under 20%. Cuz Chris Nolan ain't doing
two things back to back. After he did
three Batman movies, he's like, "No more
of this, dog." I I'm the I have the
blankst check in Hollywood. You think
I'm going to spend like five years of my
life doing just one thing? He's like,
he'll be off doing he'll he'll do sci-fi
or he'll do something totally unrelated
to the Odyssey. Next, uh, shout out to,
uh, User Rewind releases, becoming a
rockstar, becoming a YouTube member.
Appreciate you.
>> A new chat here from Snoop Dogg. Uh,
Snoop Dogg uh, announced a bio a biopic
he's producing with Universal and Brian
Graaser in the style of Straight Out of
Compton. Jonathan Davis will play a
younger version of the music legend.
>> A young Snoop Dogg.
>> Young Snoop. Snoop. Um, I like I like
the young I mean the first Snoop Dogg
like age 17 to 25 is a wild ride
>> for people who only know modernday Snoop
Dogg. It is hard to connect
>> as like the guy who's in like Granola
commercials and like shows up at every
public event somehow. He's like it's
him, Shaquille O'Neal, and Pton Manning
are in every commercial. Uh, no, but
like his run, he was incredibly young
when like The Chronic and Doggy Style
came out. uh plucked from obscurity by
Dr. Dre was on trial for murder almost
immediately. Got uh got off of that
murder was the case. I mean, and again,
a five or six year run that will make
for a very good movie if that's kind of
what they're focusing on.
>> We've got a super chat flag up from
Brian uh Nick Howy275 sending in five
New Zealand dollars saying uh the Lord
of the Rings films will be filmed in New
Zealand by the way. And it would be a
betrayal if they weren't. kind of came
up yesterday as as the Hunt for Gollum
cast got announced. We kind of asked
that Nick Howy, as you could tell by the
little NZ next to uh the denomination
there. My man is the call is coming from
inside the New Zealand. You know what I
mean? He's looking out his window and
he's seeing the production vans line up.
He knows. He knows from whence he
speaks.
>> Are you on the North Island or the South
Island, Nick Howie? That's all right.
Don't you don't need a super chat to
answer that. Okay.
>> Yeah. It happened in
>> uh Nick Howy and and for everybody else
watching. So I have a cousin who married
a man from New Zealand. Very very nice
guy. He designed sailboats for a living.
Um and anytime I see him, he lives in
the US now with my cousin and their
family. Uh he's like a one-man tourism
board for New Zealand. He's not only is
he like trying to always get me to go to
New Zealand, which I mean, don't got to
twist my arm. I would love to go, but
he's like, "And here's your 7-day
itinerary. You start here and then you
go here and you do that. I think all
Kiwis are so proud of their country that
they can't wait to share it with people.
Um, yeah. Any any other thoughts in the
chat? A Snoop Dogg biopic.
You say biopic or you said biopic,
right? I I I used to say biopic because
it's spelled the same as biopsy. And
then people made fun of me. So now I
tried to say biopic, but biopic is what
I still
>> And do we assume they get kind of an
unknown that happens to be 6'5 and
really thin to play Snoop Dogg or is
there a working actor Davis from Outer
Banks?
>> Oh, he's already been cast. I
misinterpreted. I thought that was a
director attached. Okay. Okay. Jonathan
Davis. Um I assume he's also the lead
singer of Korn, right? That Jonath
Jonathan Davis. Okay. Um that's joke
folks uh for the Elder Millennial.
Another super chat coming in here.
>> Two S's.
>> Um, Geek Ledger asking, "$5 Super Chat.
Thank you, Geek Ledger. You're making
those bureaus. We're getting closer to
Bureau with every super chat of yours.
Uh, what franchise movie announcement
would you personally love to see? Maybe
a dormant franchise or potentially a
reboot remake or whatever.
>> I would love some confirmation that Fast
Forever is happening."
>> Yeah.
>> Just because it seems like the only
person who cares is Vin Diesel.
>> Yeah. Yeah,
>> like literally he seems like he's on the
streets begging to make it happen. But
I'd also love a Universal Monsters.
>> I was just going to say I I they they
went so hard and fa flamed out so fast
at the
>> uh Dark Universe with Tom Cruz's Mummy
movie a couple years back.
>> It's just the cast of the Dark Universe.
>> It's it just it flamed out so fast. But
like I I would love to see if not like a
straight up like, you know, give me a
Frankenstein movie. Give me a bride of
Frankenstein. Something like that. That
is like, you know, uh I I liked Gald Del
Toro's like kind of like artsier take on
it, but um I I do kind of love just the
general Universal monster movies.
>> It's also tough because they're all in
the public domain now, so you're getting
stuff like G Toro's Frankenstein movie
on Netflix. Uh Universal doesn't
necessarily have the, you know,
unlimited rights. So that is a little
complicated, but I hear you. I would
like that, too. Uh just a quick addendum
to Eric's, um Snoop Dog movie. Uh, the
film will begin production this summer
in Los Angeles with a 2027 release date.
We're turning that b that baby around
fast.
>> That's fast.
>> Uh, and um, do we have a is there
another tweet or or we have a super
chat.
>> Oh, here we go. Another tweet. Donna
Langley news.
>> Okay, here I can read this one. Uh,
chairperson of Universal Studios, Donna
Langley takes the stage for Universal
Showcase at Cineacon. Uh, weirdly, she's
doing Past the Kavasier.
I'm kidding. Okay. I was trying to think
of another uh, rap song from that era.
Langley recently committed to 45day
theatrical windows for Universal Films,
earning praise from film exhibitors who
are hoping all studios commit to windows
closer to the 60-day range that Disney
movies typically have. Universal's
commitment isn't too surprising given
their courting of Christopher Nolan, DGA
president, and one of the industry's
strongest advocates for theatrical
distribution. So, obviously, pandemic
screwed up a lot of stuff. A lot of
movies got dropped directly on
streaming. But even since then,
Universal among all the studios has been
pioneering this flexible window where
like sometimes as quickly as 17 days
after a theatrical release, a movie will
be available for paid video on demand.
Doesn't mean it's already on Peacock or
Netflix or whatever, but you can buy it
at home. So, they're saying they're
going to stretch that out to 45 days
before you can purchase a movie at home
to hopefully get more people in
theaters. We've got a super chat coming
through.
Uh, Angel Jorio Bonjovi, maybe Universal
will do a movie about him. I guess this
is piano speculation
>> or or we're hoping for another uh
biopic, biopic. You vote in the chat.
I'm
>> throw in the chat.
>> I'm I'm going to I'm going to start a
poll here. I'm going to start a poll.
>> How about we just call it person pick
and then we don't have to worry about
pronunciation.
>> Um, get his son Jake Bonjovi to play
him. Does he date somebody famous?
>> He's married to Millie Bobby Brown.
>> Oh, that's right. They have a baby.
>> Okay. I've started a poll. It is up to
you to determine which one you vote for.
>> How is it is it obvious?
>> Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as
is the pronunciation of biopic. Um, so
we'll see. We got a lot of people voting
for biopic, but also a lot of other
people voting for biopic. So, we'll see
how it goes. We've got another super
chat coming through as we wait for the
results of that very important poll. Uh
Rohan Chica, I hope I'm pronouncing that
right. Rohan or Rohan. Uh do you think
we'll get another Andrew Garfield in the
werewolf suit type of situation for the
Marvel panel? And if so, what do you
think it'll be?
>> Like, do you think we'll have like a big
hidden cameo reveal kind of
>> or even even RDJ coming out in the Doom
mask?
>> Yeah,
>> I think that would be cool. They they
like an onstage spectacle.
>> Will they do it here instead of at
Comic-Con or D23 though? You know, like
if they're if they're going to do a big
event like that, are they going to do it
here where there's like less cameras or
are they going to save it for somewhere
where there's a little bit more
publicity on it? You know, this this is
ultimately less of a fan convention and
more of an industry convention.
>> Yeah.
>> Um
>> it's like at a college football or
basketball game, you got the alumni side
and the student side, and you always get
a bigger reaction out of the student
side. That's more like your Comic Con,
your public uh event as opposed to this
industry event. I And what is he
referring to? Andrew Garfield in the
werewolf suit. Is that something I'm not
remembering? Did he show up at a thing?
>> Did he like come out and then like
>> was there a reveal? I I'm taking it as
as fact that it's true, but I do not
remember that.
>> We also got some more super chats. Thank
you everybody for participating here. Uh
Blue Flame Studios 199, believe it or
not, I am related to Nick. He is my twin
brother. I mean, I do believe it because
you're also in New Zealand. So, Blue
Flame and and Nick are two New
Zealanders. You do not have that big of
a country. We have a very representative
slice of the population of New Zealand
watching the live stream. More power to
both of you. Uh, another super chat
coming through
um from is it Oh, we got a tweet. Never
mind. We're gonna do
>> a tweet.
>> Get to this update.
>> Christopher Nolan on stage. Okay, folks.
We're talking Odyssey. We got an Odyssey
very soon.
>> We're going to see if we can get news
before Eric self-combusts with
excitement from seeing Christopher
Nolan. He's breathing the same air. O
>> over under 20% uh Christopher Nolan sees
Eric in the audience 30 rows back and
was like Eric Vaugh.
I mean apparently Favro did that to him
the other night. So
>> Oh yeah. Well, that's a story for
another day. Um okay, we got some more
super chats we want to get to while we
await this Odyssey news. Um,
>> did you see that BD gave New Rockstar a
plug on his interview with
>> Wilson? Wilson Bethl. So that's, uh,
Brandon Davis, uh, the actor playing
Bullseye. I did not see that, but but
shout out to Brandon Davis, a good
friend of the channel. We see him a lot.
Uh, he's our he's our bud. We appreciate
him. And thank you, Marvel Pirate, for
for pointing that out for everybody.
Yeah, go support Brandon Davis and all
the good work he's doing out there, too.
Uh, more super chats. Justin Bishop
biopic like biography. That's what we're
saying.
>> Maybe he's saying biop biography.
>> No, I'm biopic. I'm team
>> bio.
>> I think I'm biop biopic, but it's been
biopic. It's like Caribbean and
Caribbean. Like I say the or Zenaia
Zenaia. I know one of them is wrong, but
all I know is I have the wrong one in my
head.
>> I I keep mispronouncing Margot Robbie.
Marggo Robi. I mean, that's not even a
hard name to pronounce and I still screw
it up. Okay, we got more super chats.
Thank you, Justin Bishop, for your
>> superhat and furious.
>> Ryan Snowden, hope we get the sequel to
Kungpow Enter the Fist. You know what,
Ryan Snowden? You might be the only one.
>> Which one was was Kungpow the like
cartoony uh kung fu movie or am I
thinking of something else?
>> There's there's a there was a movie
called Shaolin Soccer
>> and then there was like a sequel to it.
>> I think it is where it was like a mix of
like dubbed
>> Odoker.
>> No, I'm thinking of something else. I'm
thinking of something else.
>> Um interesting. I I love that's your
poll. Uh we got some more super chats
coming in. Fast and Furious. Speaking of
Fast and Furious, loi girl lore
enthusiast, really weird poll, but I
want to see a sequel for Bruce Almighty
on Evan Almighty. Please announce it.
Maybe something with Moses story.
>> I would love that. I love Evan Almighty.
>> And you know what? Like we were we were
just talking in the office earlier about
like comedy has been struggling. They
don't make a lot of theatrical comedies
anymore. you need like some kind of like
extra thing on top of it. A little
sci-fi twist, a fantasy twist. Feels
like that Evan Almighty uh Bruce
Almighty. That could be the right thing
to get a big movie uh in theaters that
is a a comedy. Uh I don't I like that
idea. Loi Girl, more Oh, we got an
update.
>> Uh oh.
>> Okay. We're seeing a montage of iconic
shots from every single one of
Christopher Nolan's films, including the
Warner Brothers ones. Huh. set to Lwick
Goransson's score from Oppenheimer that
transitions to Zimmer's time theme from
Inception. According to most of the
people in this room, every single one of
Nolan shots are iconic and just watching
any series of his shots in any order is
going to get us pumped. Hell yeah. I
mean, so the kind of the irony of this,
Nolan is a Universal boy now, starting
with Oppenheimer, but he had made most
of the movies in his career with Warner
Brothers.
>> He was a Warner Brothers dude.
>> Batman movies. uh Inception,
Interstellar The Roll, Warner Brothers,
they pissed him off during the pandemic
uh with how they dumped a lot of movies
on HBO Max uh and what they did to
Denville for Dune 1. So he hightailed it
over across town to Universal where he's
been making movies ever since. Um and
now he's kind of king of Hollywood.
>> Um okay, we've got another tweet.
Standing ovation for Christopher Nolan
at at ComicCon. Not a surprise. Another
super chat. Thank you, Brian. Cinema Con
what did I say? Comic Con
is uh Sarah Hatchador and $5 super chat
over under 20%. The reason Nolan sees EA
Voss in the crowd is because he's
hysterically sobbing with excitement at
being in the same room as Nolan. A
>> absolutely possible. I think over 20%.
>> Yeah, he notices cuz Eric's on a gurnie
getting wheeled out of getting oxygen,
green lasers dotting his forehead.
>> Over under 20%. That's an over. Oh, we
got another super chat coming through.
Lost Chief. Kungpow is like a worse
version of Kung Fu Hustle, which is the
film you were thinking of.
>> Yeah. Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer
are both great movies. Yes.
They're so fun. They're so fun. And so
it's that genre taken to the like
extreme.
>> Yes. It's It's just like what if what if
Jackie Chan had a baby with Looney
Tunes? Like it's really great.
>> Let's talk a little bit Odyssey here,
which is a movie. Sorry. Oh, we never
even Did you get to say what Universal
movie you're most excited for? Sorry,
>> Abby. Abby.
>> No. And I'm excited for Shrek 5.
>> Okay, but that's not coming out this
year. But you're
>> Okay. This year I'm excited for the
Odyssey, which is basic.
>> Do you think Shrek will show up in the
Odyssey? And if so, who will he play?
>> Telmarcus.
>> Um, he he'll play the Trojan horse. Just
real quick,
>> we're living in good times. Okay, just
take in for a second the cast of the
Odyssey. You probably know this, but
just the volume of movie stardom that is
in this movie. Matt Damon obviously
playing Odysius. Tom Holland Telmakus
playing his son. Robert Patson, Ian
Hathaway, Leita Niongo, Zenaia, John
Barrenthal, Charisse Therone, uh Benny
Safy, uh he's the guy in the crazy head
gear. Um, John Leguisamo, Corey Hawkins,
Elliot Paige, Mia Goth, um, the list
keeps going and then like a lot of
character actors you'd recognize. Like
>> to such an extent that in the trailer
we've got the trailers we've gotten so
far, we haven't even seen half these
people yet because you can't get them
all in frame. Oh, Travis Scott, that's
another name. Like it's nuts. It
>> I think he's playing Homer. That's my
guess. I My guess is that he's playing
Homer.
>> Hell yeah. We got a super chat coming
through.
Matthew P saying, "I will on the spot
self conduct self-combust if The Naked
Gun 2 with Liam Niss is announced at
Paramount tomorrow." I mean,
>> the first one was so good. It was so
good.
>> There was a lot of like speculation in
the trades. That movie, you know, a
comedy, which there's not many in
theaters anymore. It like did okay, but
a lot of people were saying like, did it
do good enough that it needed to do? We
don't know. I I too hope I loved that
movie. That was so funny. Kirk H3213
uh just became a YouTube member. Thank
you. Uh welcome. Um I I going back to
the cast of the Odyssey. I just love
that we live in a time in which like
Denuv is like I would like all the movie
stars. Christopher Nolan's like I too
would like all the movie stars in my
movies. Even like you watch the weird
little Wes Anderson movies he's been
putting out for the last five or six
years. He also has all the movie stars
in his weird little quirky
>> uh comedies. Like I like when we get
just a lot of people talk about like
what makes something feel theatrical.
Getting all the movie stars in your
movie certainly helps. We got a we got
an update from the room from Eric Voss.
Um our update is Nolan on the Odyssey.
We have a big one this time. Yeah, baby.
>> All right.
>> Just this time. Read on. Nolan continues
that the Odyssey is a story that has
entertained audiences for 3,000 years
and how he has dreamed to tell an epic
legend on large-scale film. Starting
with The Dark Knight, he's been trying
to film larger and larger portions of
his movies on IMAX. For the first time
with the Odyssey, 100% of the film will
be shot on IMAX.
That said, he's also editing it in other
formats and promised The Odyssey will
play on all screens and still be the
largest and sharpest film in their
theaters.
>> Okay, we've got another tweet following
this up right away.
Let's see here.
Christopher Nolan on the Odyssey's huge
cast. It'll be faster to tell you who's
not in the film.
>> My man,
me. That's who's not.
>> Yes.
Well, this is great. I mean, I uh I I
do, you know, I was a I think a senior
in high school when Gladiator came out,
maybe a junior, and like that and
Braveheart really kind of set the tone
for me for what big epic movies should
feel like. And this feels very much like
a return to that form. We've got a super
chat coming in.
Rainbow Dam with a $5 super chat. My
pitch to DreamWorks liveaction road to
El Dorado with Oscar Isaac and Pedro
Pascal. Yes, that'd be great.
>> Yeah. Um maybe not at the top of their
live action remake list, but you know
what? That that could mean it's it's a
it's a bolder it's a boulder swing. Um
yeah, back to your point on like
Gladiator, you know, as big a hit as
that was and as important as Sword and
Sandal epics are to like Hollywood
history. Yeah.
>> We don't get many of them. No. Like in
our movie going lifetime, there's been
Troy, there's been Gladiator 1 and
Gladiator 2.
>> Politics.
>> Yes. Uh and then not a ton else, you
know. I guess you know there was like um
there have been a couple Crusades movies
and obviously that's a very different
era but kind of can have similar vibes.
Um I'm excited for uh and this is even I
mean Tendul the Odyssey is set way
before the era of Gladiator too, right?
>> Yeah. I mean, I I just read a book on
the history of Rome and like, you know,
it the early Italian history is so much
looking back specifically to the battle
at Troy and all the early emperors of
Rome claim to be able to trace their
lineages to Anias and all this stuff. A
lot of uh places in Rome were originally
Greek settlements, especially on Sicily
and in that area. So, it's it's it's
it's something that'll be interesting to
see. Okay. Uh we got a tweet update.
>> Footage of the Odyssey is playing at
Cineacon.
>> We're seeing a Oh, wait. No, that's an
old tweet. Okay, so we're going to get
updates. Eric is furiously transcribing
everything he's seeing. And so as soon
as uh he's able to hit send, we will be
able to recap the footage that we are
seeing. Um but
>> will there be a wine dark sea? Will we
see Rosy Finger Dawn?
>> Uh another tweet we missed here. While
praising Matt Damon as a creative
partner, Christopher Nolan calls the
Odyssey a nightmare to film. shooting on
a variety of natural settings and
weather conditions with the difficult to
manage, very heavy IMAX camera and
reels. Yeah. So, you might be asking,
hey, I've seen a lot of movies in IMAX.
What does it what does he mean shot 100%
in IMAX? So, IMAX cameras are famously
humongous. They're way bigger and
importantly, they are way louder than
regular cameras. They make so much noise
while they're recording that it kind of
ruins your ability to record sound. But
but because Nolan's been working with
IMAX so much for such a long time and
he's such an important filmmaker, they
have developed like all these mufflers
and like new versions of IMAX cameras
that are quieter than old ones so that
you can still capture sound better
supposedly. It's still much harder
process than using regular cameras.
We've got a super chat coming through.
Anthony Stafford saying live action
Megamind. Now that I think is probably
going to happen. You might be you might
be spot on there, Anthony Stafford.
Also, I want to give uh for all the
super chatter chatters a bureau update.
We have uh NR editor Joshua Herd
trolling through the back end of YouTube
figuring out where we are at
cumulatively. Reminder, if we get up to
400,
>> Zach will I can't remember if it's
shotgun or drink of bureau on camera.
Shotgun. If we get to 400, we are
currently at $123.40.
So, we are a quarter of the way uh to
getting Zach to pound a hazy IPA or
something.
>> This one's a Kingston Golden Pills.
>> Non-alcoholic. Non-alcoholic.
>> But but uh again, Tom Holland himself
cans each one of these. I've been told.
>> Um okay.
>> Um also, while we're waiting for Odyssey
footage, hey, you want to get a t-shirt,
you want to support the channel, why
don't you head to nerdriot.shop.
We got all sorts of designs at
nerdriot.shop. shop. We got this one for
Spider-Man Brand New Day, playing off
that famous meme. Zach's wearing
breakroom merch.
>> And I was wearing the shirt in
yesterday's stream. But speaking of IMAX
and and formats and stuff like that, we
have a cool new aspect ratio shirt that
shows all the different formats compared
to each other, the different film
formats. You can find that at
nerdriot.shop.
>> Yes. So, if you want to support the
channel a little extra, go to
nerdriot.shop. Also, while we're
stalling, waiting for this Odyssey
footage, if you're in the LA area, you
want to see us do a live reading of
MorbiiUs at UCB Theater on Friday night,
April 17th at 7 p.m., there's a link in
the description. You can click and buy
tickets. If you're not in the LA area,
don't worry, we got you covered. There's
live stream tickets there, too, so you
can watch it from the comfort of
wherever you are. Um, we have a $2 super
chat here from Marvel Pirate uh asking
how much to get everyone to shotgun a
bureau. I have said if we make it to
shotgun point, I will shotgun one with
Zach even though I can't burp and it's
going to be a nightmare for me.
>> We could watch your man die on stream.
>> It might happen. It might happen. Yeah.
I'm going to I'm going to shotgun a beer
then quickly change altitude.
>> I have a higher price point than Okay.
Say it.
>> I don't know. Yeah. Name your price.
Everyone's got a price.
>> 800.
>> Yeah. 800 people shotgun. I'm I'm cheap.
Okay.
>> Um my my shame is is bargain basement.
>> Um Okay. Again, we are patiently waiting
for It must be some a lot of footage
that they're showing,
>> I think. So, I mean, this is how it was
yesterday when the Dune part 3 footage
came in. They showed seven minutes to
everybody who was at yesterday's WB
panel. We knew they were showing it and
then had to wait for Eric. And kudos to
Eric, he's doing this very quickly. Uh
we had to wait for Eric to transcribe it
all before we could get that like, you
know, uh a secondhand whiff of Dune part
three all the way here from from LA.
>> We should also say while we wait,
Discussing Film is is reporting Chariss
Theren is playing Calypso in the
Odyssey. I don't think we'd gotten
confirmed roles. We knew these actors
were in the movie, but not all of their
roles have been confirmed. So that's um
great. Was that one of the ones that
people were thinking maybe Zenaia would
be?
>> Yes,
>> I think Zen I think Zenaia's I thought
she was confirmed as Athena. Did I make
that up?
>> No, I've heard both. I've heard both. Um
>> uh IMDb currently listing Athena, but I
don't know. You know, IMDb is not always
the most accurate.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Again, this movie will be coming
out July of this year, same month as
Spider-Man Brand New Day. It's a big
month for the Zenaia Holland household.
>> Big month.
>> Big two weeks. Big two weeks. Like when
the two of them like aren't on like
publicity tours and they just have a
Saturday, you think they're sitting
around doing the Sudoku or what?
>> Just gave $100.
>> Yeah. Kirk Kirk 3213 with a $100 super
chat saying bureau shotgun.
>> For those about to for those about to
shotgun, we salute you. Man, Kirk. Kirk
3213.
>> You're foaming up. You're foaming up, my
man.
>> We're getting a bureau chug.
>> Zoom in.
>> We're getting a bureau chug from from
Zack. This is Bureau. This is Tom
Holland's non-alcoholic beer product.
>> We are not being paid to do this.
>> Yeah. And I should say I'm I am not nor
have I ever been a skilled chugger. So,
you'll have to be I mean, this this chug
will be a trickle.
>> Amazing.
Kirk 3213 getting us getting us halfway
to hero shotgun.
>> Bless you.
>> Hang on. Let me see if I can get
>> We've got something coming in.
>> Anyone want to match that?
>> I just wanted to let you guys know cuz I
don't know if you guys see it. I put a
little graphic in the bottom now. So,
there's a goal to 400 for the bureau
chug.
>> Oh, beautiful. Okay. Thank you, Brian,
for that graphic.
>> Like 57% of the way there.
>> And you know, again, they're they're not
a sponsor. I I paid out of pocket for
these bureaus.
>> They're also not refrigerated. Well,
this one has maintained enough of its
chill, but I got to say, pretty tasty.
Kudos to you, Tom Holland.
>> I just want to shout out Nerd Girl Jean,
who said it's a zatty chug.
>> Zatty chug.
>> Okay, I'm I'm I'm most of the way
through. I know I'm probably getting
roasted in the comments for not being
able to chug.
>> Honestly, everybody's uh We got Meg
Matty, Zack channeling his inner Florida
gator frat boy.
>> Yeah, dog.
>> Chug chug chug. You can't see, but I'm
wearing um I'm wearing jeans shorts and
and slides underneath the table to
really uh embrace that. Duval.
>> Okay, great. Uh we have a just a
straight up question, but I happened to
catch it. It's video game related, so
I'm responding to it from Absolute Super
Cinema. Do you guys expect a Donkey Kong
movie? I certainly do. I think that uh
Illumination and Universal are going to
milk uh their corner of the Nintendo
shared cinematic universe for everything
it's worth. I think we're going to get
solo movies from Donkey Kong. They can't
do Zelda because of Sony, I don't think,
unless Sony carved out liveaction verse
animation rights. I think we'll get a
solo Star Fox movie. Um I wouldn't be
surprised if we got a solo uh Peach
movie. You know, like I I think the
Toads will become their own Minions
franchise.
>> Yes, I think for our our lifetime, much
like in the Minions Verse, every two
years we will be seeing some kind of
Mario movie.
>> Absolutely.
>> I did finish the beer. Thank you
everybody. Um this was again the
Kingston Golden Pills.
>> Tasty.
>> I guess if you're going to be chugging
one, you want a Golden Pills and not
like a porter or a
>> Yes. Richer. Though I will say people
were mentioning it's still pretty cold.
I actually think it would have been
easier to chug if it were closer to room
temp.
>> You think so?
>> Cold, you get a little bit of a of a
brain freeze kind of a nature. I don't
know. We'll find out when I chug another
one 40 minutes from now that is uh much
warmer. We'll see.
>> Thank you, Kirk.
>> Thank you, Kirk.
>> Thank you, Kirk.
>> Um,
yeah, I'm I'm uh we'll have to call an
Uber for me.
It does have 5% alcohol.
>> So, if I drink eight of these, that is
like consuming one beer.
>> Beer. I thought the whole thing was that
it's non-alcoholic.
>> All non-alcohol. They they make regular
beer and then they boil off the alcohol.
So there's always a tiny tiny bit.
>> It's like It's the same amount of
alcohol and kombucha.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> Uh I think that's why you still have to
be 21 to buy it.
>> Oh, really? They carted you?
>> No, they did not card me.
>> I got carded recently and I laughed out
loud. I was like, "Okay, yeah, sure.
Here you go."
But that's Yeah, I only did get carded
because me and the the lady at Ralph's,
you know.
>> Yeah,
>> she knows what's up. She watches the
channel.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Um, Star Fox next up, Pixie Cherub is
saying, "Yeah, I based on the I've heard
enough stories of the reaction his
reveal gets in the theater."
>> It's great.
>> Yeah,
>> it's great. Um, also like Star Fox is
one of those franchises where the OG
games I would argue Star Fox 64 is
better than the S NES Star Fox. Whoa. Uh
uh chat coming in from Sarah
Hatchadorian New Rockstars. The footage
shown was the Trojan horse sequence. Uh
famously a sequence written 3,000 years
ago of a horse practicing safe sex. It
is one of the most moving sequences in
all literature. And
>> and by moving you mean
>> Yes. Yes. in every sense of the word.
>> We just got demonetized because I did
this. Uh well, and we've seen some parts
of the trailer in the trailer and
they're like covering the guy's mouth.
uh or whatever from inside. Um yeah,
that's you know that's going to be a
sick sequence. Uh what are your guys'
what are your thoughts, beliefs,
whatever on some of the creative license
Nolan is taking as far as like
historical inaccuracies and blah blah
blah.
>> Don't care at all.
>> I don't care at all.
>> Yeah,
>> I don't care. I watch Bridgetgerton.
I feel like that's same amount of
accuracy
>> and and maybe if if it were a filmmaker
we don't we didn't trust as much and
didn't have the track record of
Christopher Nolan, you might be like,
"What are you doing?" I
>> I got like two thoughts on it. One is,
you know, the the Odyssey itself was not
really written by one person. You know,
uh Homer was probably the most famous
performer of it, but it was written over
the course of several hundred years. And
also like you know we we think of
historical accuracies now through our
modern lens. Uh oh. What happened? We're
losing our
>> barrel. Broke the barrel box.
>> Oh god. Everything's fine guys. I was
just trying to pull out another one. The
12-pack did burst open. So the amount of
foam that emits from this one.
>> Twice as much. But yeah, the the amount
of change between, you know, 3000 B.CE
and 2,000 B.CE is really not anywhere
near the same as the change between like
1950, you know, like it's it's not even
close. So, I think Christopher Nolan's a
great storyteller. I'm I'm perfectly
happy with him making whatever changes
he needs for the sake of this film.
Yeah.
>> If he's given him different armor cuz he
thinks it looks sick as hell.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Go for it. You know,
>> I got I got no problem with that.
I don't know. I think who else is making
any movies about that time period?
>> Yeah.
>> Well, I mean, when I
>> when I watch movies they shot then,
>> I'm like, "Oh, you know, there you go."
>> Yeah. No, that was a good joke.
>> Uh, well,
>> I could I couldn't riff on it.
>> So good. It needed to die. Uh, yeah.
Thank you again, everybody. If you're
just tuning in, we're watching uh or we
are reacting live to the Universal
Studio uh Cinema Con panel. They are in
Las Vegas. Our very own Eric Voss and
Jessica Clemens are in the room watching
Christopher Nolan on stage right now. He
is showing some clips from the Odyssey.
Eric Voss is transcribing it furiously.
We are going to read his transcription
as soon as that comes in. Um, also
people have been commenting when you
watch uh both watching live and maybe
watching the VOD, they kind of tune into
the channel, they see that there's a 2
hour, three hour, 4 hour long stream.
They're like, is there a shorter
summary?
>> No.
>> No.
>> But um, Eric Voss will be making kind of
breakout videos on like really
noteworthy stuff like he did one for the
Spider-Man brand new day, Element of the
Sony panel just released a few hours ago
on the New Rockstars channel. He also
recapped the footage that was shown from
Beyond the Spider-Verse in the Sony
panel. If there's something that like we
are able to put out a video on and Eric
thinks it's noteworthy enough, we'll do
the same for something that comes up in
this panel and certainly for tomorrow's
Disney panel. We've got we've got an
update here. Let's go to the update.
>> Super chat update it looks like. Or is
this a new tweet?
>> Uh we've got a tweet here. Okay, so I'll
read it here.
>> Oh wow. Big one
>> from here. Okay. Yeah. Oh boy. He he
recapped it all. The Odyssey footage
recap from Cineacon. Adysius, Matt
Damon, washes up on the island of
Calypso, Charlie's throne, in the debris
of his broken ship. He says he has no
memory of anything before Troy. Do I
have a son? How old is he now? We cut to
the feast of Menllus.
>> Menaaus.
>> Menaaus. Thank you very much. John
Barrenthal. Helen seated beside him as
he calls Adysius son Telmachus.
>> Tmicus.
>> Tmicus. Thank you. Uh, maybe you should
be reading this one, B. I'm going to
continue to butcher these, but uh, Tom
Holland to come sit beside him. Do you
know the story of the horse? He asked
the young man. Yes, Menaaus. Yes,
>> asks. But do you know it from the
inside? Uh, then we cut to the Trojan
horse preview footage shown in front of
screenings of one battle after another.
Uh, this Dolby screen is not IMAX.
Shame, shame, shame, Cineacon. But it
still looks incredible. Lots of cool
force perspective and miniatures used to
make the horse look huge. And the Trojan
slaves hauling it up the sand look
massive and real. There's the great shot
we saw in other footage of the Trojans
stabbing their sword through the wood
and one soldier getting stabbed in the
shoulder while the other Greeks stifle
his yelp. I only now notice that one of
the Greeks quickly wipes blood off the
sword so that the Trojan up top won't
see the blood.
>> Very cool. Adysius and Menaaus lead the
other Greeks out of the horse and sneak
around Troy, killing guards and rushing
to get the gates open while they duel in
a volley with Trojan archers.
Eventually, they get the gates open and
a heavily armored Agamemnon
>> marches in leading hundreds more Greeks
to sack the city. The editing and action
are tense. Zero dark 30 in sandals. That
put that on the poster, Eric Voss. Zero
dark 30 and sandals. We cut back to
Menaaus with Telamakus. You know the
rest. Then a crazy montage of two frame
at a time insane moments from the film.
This movie is gonna be wild.
>> I'm stoked, man. I I grew up My mom was
a a classics uh scholar. I grew up with
this crap. I'm stoked for this
movie. Hell yeah.
>> Even that description sounds so cool.
>> Uh we've got another tweet alert coming
in from Brian. Um,
uh, Eric saying, "Sorry, I was gushing
over the Odyssey footage, so I'm a bit
behind." Bowser voice actor Jack Black
is on stage to talk about Super Mario
Galaxy. He introduces the head of
illumination, Chris Melendandre, who
praises Jack Black for carrying
audiences to these Mario movies, calling
him a true movie star.
>> That's right. Uh, I mean, big big year
for Jack Black, who's going to be in
both Jumanji 4 and is already in Super
Mario Galaxy. Also, was Anaconda this
year?
>> Anaconda was last year.
>> Was the end of last year. Okay.
>> Yes. Uh, we've got a super chat coming
through. Also, we want to shout out uh
Oh, James Anthony, love you guys. Now,
drink those beers. Be friend.
>> Uh, rhymes with Nero. Also, we've been
talking about beer. We talked about
beeros all day yesterday. I've been
talking about beeros in the office. Uh,
Abby got a little confused. She thought
that was just my fun little pet name for
actual beers. I yeah I thought it was
like a cutwater or something. I was
like, "Oh, maybe it's like a beer." Like
I don't know if I just I don't know beer
that well. So I was like, "Oh." But
>> I do know Tom Holland. I think I even
follow Bureau on Instagram or at least
follow Tom Holland. So I knew I knew
that when you brought him in.
>> When you follow Bureau on Instagram, is
it like is there like a can doing like a
get ready with me? No, it's like Tom
Holland and he's like at a brewery and
he's like guys this like I can't do the
Tom Holland voice but he's like it
doesn't even taste like alcohol like you
know but it's it's it's good and so
>> shout they're in the chat. Does anybody
anybody out there consuming NAS
non-alcoholic beverages? Uh I don't mind
them. They've they've come a long way
from the days of os when they all tasted
awful. I will say my my girlfriend uh
doesn't drink and so there's a lot of
non-alcoholic beverages in our house.
You can get really good uh Athletic
Brewing Company has a really good Golden
uh I'm not like an IPA guy. There's a
lot of NA IPAs.
>> Uh non-alcoholic Guinness surprisingly
good.
>> I saw that in the store when I went to
get the beer.
>> Surprising Michelob, they all make their
own. We've got another super chat coming
through. Throw in the chat. Uh Joseph
Bartholomew tip to replace the dropped
beer. Luckily, the one I dropped was uh
empty, my friend. This is the one I
chugged. But also, appreciate the tip.
And and guys, this one, that one was a a
pills uh which you know, in the style of
a Budweiser or whatever. Um this one
though, a hazy IPA. And I got to say, I
drink actual beers when I'm not at work.
And this is my go-to varietal. Anybody
out there like a hazy IPA? Oh, daddy.
They're Those are good stuff. So, I I'm
excited to try this one. I haven't tried
that before. Um okay. So again, Eric
Voss, Jessica Clemens are in the room
for the Universal panel at Cineacon.
We're going to be reporting everything
they see.
>> Okay, great. We got another super chat,
Brian. Uh
uh from Sahib Singh98 97 $2 super chat.
Anyone watch that Avatar movie? I have
not yet. I learned about it on this
stream earlier today. They would we
would be breaking the law if we watched
that movie because it has been I assume
you're referring to not Avatar Fire and
Ash but the leaked animated Avatar.
>> Sahib could be a huge Una Chaplain fan.
We don't know. It's impossible to say.
Um
>> but yeah, we we have not watched it.
We've been here at the office catching
up on
>> Daredevil the boys. Um uh
>> Euphoria. Yeah, Euphoria. There's a lot
going on right now.
>> Also, we should Oh, we got an update.
That update.
>> Uh,
>> he is talking about the leaked.
>> Okay. Chris Meladandre talks about
Minions and Monsters.
>> The movie is set in the 1920s. All
right.
>> As the Minions set out west to Hollywood
to find another monster to serve.
>> I guess I am getting my Universal
Monsters Wish that I wanted.
>> And you could see like if they show up
at Hollywood. Yeah. in the 20s are are
they going to bump into like James Whale
and like uh you know kind of that early
I guess 20s would be that's pre-talkis.
Yeah. A silent film era, right? So, um,
>> Clara Bo.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Buster Katon.
>> Maybe some Buster Katon. Charlie
>> Chhat coming in here.
>> Um, Loi Girlore Enthusiast. Two super
chat. We better get I am Alex seen for
two movie. Loi girl lore enthusiast. I
don't know what this means.
>> What does that mean?
>> Tell me what it means. You don't got to
super chat to tell me what it means.
I'll just keep an eye out down here.
>> For two movie.
>> What does this mean? Fill us in in the
chat. I I'm looking for your You don't
got to super chat it again. You already
gave us the super chat. Just type it out
there and I'll see if I can figure it
out.
>> Is that Is that like an I am legend?
>> Oh, it's Minecraft.
>> Oh, I see. I see.
>> Steve.
>> I am Steve instead of I am Steve. I am
Alex.
>> I see. I see. Okay. Thank you. Thank
you. Thank you.
>> It took me a minute.
>> Okay. All right.
>> Minecraft were hoping for um we will
see. Loi girl lore enthusiast. We will
see.
>> Minecraft uh one was what? top five box
office movie though that is a Warner
Brothers franchise so we will not be
hearing about that in today's panel or
probably for the rest of cinema. They
would have talked about that yesterday.
>> Yes. And we heard nothing. Mimoa was in
the room yesterday. He rode in on a big
Lobo cycle. Uh
>> um was there doing double duty for
Supergirl and Dune part three. Um
today's big celebs seem to be Snoop
Dogg. For those of you who missed the
earlier part of the stream, doing a
Snoop Dogg biopic
uh uh and starring Jonathan Davis as
young Snoop Dogg. We've gotten a lot of
Christopher Nolan news uh and Chris
Melodandry talking that Minions and
Monsters will be a 1920s period piece.
Is this Abbott and Costello meet
Frankenstein for a new generation?
>> Oh, that would be dope.
>> Is that what is it? Hold that ghost.
Like, is that what what this movie I I
like the trailer for it. I I'm shocked
by how much I like the Minions movies. I
really am. And Jack Jack Black was on
stage. Jack Black who like you can make
a decent argument over the last five six
years like is like the number one movie
star kind of as far as like huge
franchise. I mean like again you know I
know a Anaconda wasn't a humongous hit
though it was a studio comedy live
action which you don't see that much but
like his work across the Minecraft movie
the Mario movies.
>> Yeah he's big huge. We got a super chat
coming in.
>> Loi girl lore enthusiast hope sing two
is next two.
>> I too agree about sing two. It would be
three though. Now we've already got sing
exists.
>> Uh but yeah, they got the piano in
there. I to my knowledge Snoop Dogg
wasn't wasn't Tinkle the Ivaries.
>> Well, did Jack Black I guess he did it.
>> He's pretty musical. Yeah.
>> Oh, he is not a member of the Sing
franchise as far as I know. Math
McConna, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett
Johansson are
>> I'll tell you this. Oh, I meant three.
Thank you, Loi. Uh, I'll tell you this.
You want a celebrity sighting, you're in
LA, go to the Silver Lake Gelson's and
then walk around the small reservoir
nearby.
>> There is a better than 50% chance you
will see Jack Black just toodling around
the neighborhood. Yes, he's he's
frequently walking.
>> It's a distinctive man. You won't
accidentally walk by him and not realize
>> tie-dye. Yes, tie-dye. very loud outfit,
nice guy, always just like has his
headphones on, listening to a podcast.
Don't bother him. We don't want him to
quit doing his chill vibe thing.
>> Do we think the podcast he's listening
to is sneak peek or road to doomsday?
>> I think it's sneak peek of Road to
Doomsday. Yeah, it could be Nerd
Awakenings. It's tough. Join join our
Underground. Yeah, he's our underground
producer. Um,
>> okay. Uh, we got some people in the chat
asking if we're getting news on Five
Nights at Freddy's 3 or Fast 11. We
don't know yet.
>> Potential there. So, Five Nights at
Freddy's is a Blumhouse franchise and
Universal has kind of the distributing
um arm of of Blumhouse or like Blumhouse
makes it and then Universal puts it out.
So, we could get news on that. Uh Five
Nights at Freddy's 2 was just that was
just last last winter, right? Last fall.
Yeah.
>> Um but they can turn those around pretty
>> That's a Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is an
interesting one because that's a
franchise that has the games obviously
have a huge following, especially
online. Um, but I don't think either of
those movies were particularly
critically wellreceived or did a ton of
money. I think the fans loved them.
>> The first one made a lot more than the
second one. I think there was big
diminishing returns on the second one.
Yeah.
>> Um, but you know, they're relatively
inexpensive to make.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> That's the thing. There's some great
interviews. Jason Blum, who's the head
of Blumhouse, who puts out movies like
The Purge franchise and Five Nights at
Freddy's and Megan. He's done like some
really interesting interviews in the
past, which I will get to in a second
right after we address this super chat
that is coming in. Uh, NG Ravoy, I'm or
Nego,
I don't know how to pronounce your name,
but thank you for the super chat. Odds
of Mario Kart Fast and Furious spin-off.
>> This is what I want. This is what I want
these to be. That's the kind of creative
thinking we need in Hollywood.
>> Yes.
>> There was famously a talk of a Men in
Black,
>> was it Ghostbusters cross? No, Men in
Black 21 Jump Street.
>> Yeah.
>> crossover that never happened. But maybe
this is the kind of crossover we really
need.
>> Yeah. I mean, there should just be a
Mario Kart movie that is just straight
up a Fast and Furious movie, but like
with Mario Kart.
>> Terreta should show up in the Mario Kart
movie. Yes.
>> As a Mi a Mi version of Vin Diesel.
>> We got another super chat. super chat.
>> Uh, Joseph Bartholomew6253,
$5 super chat. Hi, I'm Joey. He saved
the theaters. I've lost four theaters
near me already. Which movies can save
the theaters? I'll tell you this, it's
it's probably the big tentpole ones
realistically. But what we forget about
those big tentpole movies is the tent
pole holds up the tent. If you have
something like the Odyssey or the Super
Mario Galaxy movie holding your theaters
open, that creates places where those
theaters can take risks on smaller
films, whether those are like obscure
artouse things or just smaller budget
movies that don't have the same kind of
like ad marketing budget those other
ones do.
>> Yes. And and thank you, Joey. And like
agreed, let's save the theaters. I'm sad
to hear that you've lost four theaters
near you. Hopefully, you still have
plenty of good places to go see movies.
We need we need them to survive. And and
there's a We're getting an update here.
Let's go. right to that uh from Eric in
the room.
Um
we've uh the sequence for Minions and
Monsters shown at Cineacon evokes the
first Pixar Toy Story by showing the
Minions in a classic western scenario uh
as the minions work together on a
high-speed train chase uh to stop a
black hat villain from getting away with
all the loot. But when a biplane picks
up the villain, we realize this scenario
is actually in the 1920s, not the 1880s.
They weigh the villain down and they the
chase continues off the studio ranch
lot. Yeah, this is now Blazing Saddles
into the streets of golden age
Hollywood. Lots of chaos as the runaway
train crashes through the streets,
giving us some homages to Buster Katon
in the toppling window frame until the
director of this western film, voiced by
Kristoff Waltz, finally brings the train
to a halt. The director thinks he's
going to be fired, but his studio boss,
Jeff Bridges, loves The Minions. The
movie looks fun as hell. It's going to
remind people of Who Framed Roger
Rabbit. Wow.
>> Yeah. I mean, again, I I am My daughter
forced me to watch the Minions movies.
Oh, they're getting a second Minions and
Monsters scene. Uh, my daughter forced
me to watch the movies in advance of
Despicable Me 4, which came out two
summers ago, I think. Uh, and I kind of
did it with arms crossed in the way as a
father you have to watch a lot of
movies.
>> I got to tell you, they're like really
fun. They're great. I don't know why I
was being such a turd about it.
>> Anybody going to go as a gentle minion
opening night?
>> I think you will. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. A
couple more of those beer.
>> Am I allowed? Am I too old to be a
gentleman? Uh, we got a super chat
coming through though. I do want to come
back to Joey's uh thing about saving
theaters. I'm drinking zero Coke.
Interesting that you say zero Coke as
opposed to Coke Zero. Is that Are you in
the Southern Hemisphere? Loi Girl
Enthusiast uh with y'all. I got Pack
with me. So kind of Bureau and Coke
Zero. Okay, now you say Coke.
>> Beros and Zeros.
>> Bureaus and Zeros. I mean, those are my
two favorite beverages. Uh spilled some
on my keyboard now. My typing is weird.
Slow down.
>> Yeah, go fix your keyboard.
>> Slow down.
>> Sounds like Yeah, the zero the zero is
hitting.
>> Um, but we I want to go back to Joey's
thing. You know, Cinema Con again, it's
a theater industry event. All the people
in the room run theaters, own theaters,
something like that. They are all
rooting for theaters to survive. And
they have this weird relationship with
the movie studios who are their like
supplier, right? And they want there've
been complaints since the pandemic and
then we had the strikes and everything
like that. There's been the studios have
been putting out fewer movies than they
were putting out pre- pandemic. And so
movie theaters have been complaining
about multiple things, but a big one is
just the volume of wide releases is
lower than it has been historically. So,
uh, we're getting the same number of big
Marvel type movies and whatever as we
always have. It's that kind of middle
and lower tier.
>> It's that F1 tier.
>> Yes. you know that that we are not
getting because it's great when you get
people to come in to watch the Odyssey
or to watch Spider-Man brand new day.
That's wonderful. Everybody's going to
go see those movies, but you need
something for them to come back and see
the next week and the week after that
and the week after that. And that's what
theaters have not been getting. So
hopefully um I think there are more wide
releases scheduled for this year, like
20 more than came out in 2025. So
hopefully that goes a long way into
helping the theatrical industry. Uh
we've got a little super chat rolling
in. Um, from
uh Sarah Hatch, Dorian, thank you so
much. Considering they already showed
covered the Odyssey, what do you expect
Universal to close with today? Also, do
you think we'll get any big surprises
for the studio? I think if we already
got the Odyssey, I think they're closing
with Disclosure Day.
>> I bet I bet we get Spielberg on stage.
>> I bet he gets if not the same amount of
applause as Nolan. Pretty damn close.
We've got an update from Eric.
You dead, Brian?
>> Brian just spilled a Coke Zero all over
his keyboard. Um, okay. We've got uh
Oh, another Minions uh and Monsters
scene. The second scene of Minions and
Monsters at Cineacon shows the Minions
being brought into a 1920s Hollywood
soundstage. There are nods to Cleopatra
singing in the rain and lots of classic
Golden Age films. fun detail. We see the
film dailies being handed over to a row
of female editors doing this kind of
critically important editing and
assistant editing work was actually done
by women back then. Kristoff Waltz's uh
director character puts the minions in a
battle scene with Vikings. They actually
beat up the stunt actors with a variety
of melee weapons, plungers, and
chainsaws. The crew loves it.
>> I love this. I also hope that this movie
gets like a bunch of tween inspired to
go dig into classic Hollywood.
>> Yeah, go check out the references and
see the references. Uh, we've got a
super chat coming through.
Uh, Evan Swan saying, "I wonder if we
get any news on the Sabrina Allice
Wonder musical." Alice in Wonderland
musical tonight. Universal is making it.
>> It would be smart of them to piggyback
off of Coachella. Yeah. Abby,
>> you know anything about this?
>> I mean, I I do know that it's happening.
It's with um Loren
Scarferia.
>> Oh yeah. From Hustlers.
>> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> And so um I'm excited. I wonder if it'll
be kind of similar to Warner Brothers.
Um where it gets like maybe a title or a
date at the end of the panel because I
don't know how far in development. Or
maybe that's what the piano is for.
>> Still haven't figured out the piano.
>> Yeah, I'm used to listing it as in
pre-production. doesn't have a slate or
a date listed. Um, so yeah, and really
it's just yeah, Lorraine Scafaria, who I
think at one time, uh, what's his name?
The stand-up comedian that did Inside,
Bo, um, Bo Burnham, they were partners.
I don't know if they're still together.
Anyways, that's unrelated to Sabrina
Carpenters's movie.
>> More super chats coming in. Uh, Hermes
has wormies, giving five dollars, saying
bone horse, bone horse, bone horse,
>> bone ponies in the chat. Hermes has
wormies. Uh, bless you. Um, shout out.
You know what? Everybody in the chat's
doing a great job. And I understand this
is maybe not the most exciting panel we
could be covering. I'm a little
disappointed with the lack of over under
20% today.
>> I don't think there's been one.
>> We've gone way a couple. We've
>> gone under on the over under 20%. Okay.
I'm just saying. I'm just saying.
>> Yeah. And this is And we we were gonna
make merch. We still might. We still
might. Uh, okay. We've got a tweet uh uh
signal from Brian. Chris Melod
Melodandre explains how Minions and
Monsters. The advent of sound in film
with talkies and the death of silent
films has doomed the Minions films
prospect as they're unable to record
dialogue. See, very singing in the rain.
The film's a love letter to Hollywood.
>> I'm in. This might be my first Minions
movie. I need to consume not on an
airplane.
>> I have to say Singing in the Rain is
there's a lot of movies that will be
recommended to you that are old movies
that you know I bet were great when they
came out but haven't really aged very
well either like just the rhythm of them
is off compared to modern rhythms or
it's not what you're used to. Singing in
the Rain is fantastic. Like if you've
never seen it because it came out 70
years before you were born, no judgment.
Go watch it. It's a great time. a super
young Debbie Reynolds. So, it's
basically a Star Wars movie.
>> Yeah, technically. Technically, it's in
canon.
>> Um, we've got we've got a raft of super
chats we're going to get through here as
we get more updates. Uh, Matthew P. BTS
question. Assuming you all are AMC
A-list members. How many movies do you
average a week? Since I have a full-time
job, I average two a month. Wish more.
>> Uh, I'm not an A-list member. I should
be, but I'm bad uh financially. I know
for a fact Jessica Clemens is an A-list
member and probably leads all New
Rockstars employees in volume of movies
she absolutely
>> um she is she maxes out her A-list.
She's seeing everything that comes out
sometimes more than once. Um I probably
get to the I don't get to go to the
theater as much as I'd like you to. I'm
probably at about two a month. How How
[100:00] many movies do you see? I'm a I'm an
[100:01] A-list member and I probably go it it's
[100:05] either I'm seeing I'm maxing out four or
[100:08] I'm seeing zero.
[100:09] >> It really just depends on how like what
[100:12] movies are out honestly. Like right now
[100:14] I think I'm maxed out with like my
[100:16] pre-bookings.
[100:17] >> But I haven't seen a movie in almost two
[100:19] weeks. We should just while we're
[100:20] talking AMC, apparently yesterday when
[100:23] Sandra Bulock and Nicole Kidman came out
[100:24] on stage to promote Practical Magic,
[100:26] >> Sandra Bulock said to Nicole Kidman, um
[100:30] she prompted her into doing the AMC
[100:33] thing.
[100:34] >> Uh it heartbreak feels good in a place
[100:37] like this. And the room went nuts as it
[100:40] should. Um okay, more more super chats.
[100:44] >> There's a lot of super chats.
[100:45] >> Uh Shawn McCabe, S. McCabe 277. Shave
[100:48] from Queens, New York. You are one of
[100:50] the best. Hey, thanks Shny Boy.
[100:53] >> Thanks for translating that.
[100:55] >> Um, yeah, yeah, yeah. I grew up on I
[100:57] grew up in the tri-state area. I speak
[100:58] Queens. Um, yeah.
[101:01] >> Uh, we've got another super chat. Jared
[101:04] LT78, $5 overunder trailer for Space
[101:07] Balls 2 from MGM.
[101:09] >> I would probably say over
[101:12] >> we're going to get that. That'll be
[101:13] >> I think they've been working on that for
[101:14] a minute at this point. They could be in
[101:16] trailer stage. MGM um Amazon panel will
[101:18] be later tonight. We won't be covering
[101:20] that live, but we'll be recapping that
[101:22] tomorrow while we're covering the Disney
[101:24] panel. Uh so I'm excited for that.
[101:27] >> Um let's see next super chat. Uh Sahib
[101:29] Singh again. 9897. Thank you, Sahib. Uh
[101:32] thoughts on uh Legend of the Rings and
[101:35] Secret Wars on same day or Lord of the
[101:37] Rings.
[101:38] >> Oh, Lord of the Rings. What did I say?
[101:39] Legend. Yeah, I've seen Legend of the
[101:41] Rings. It's great. It's really good.
[101:43] >> ComicCon.
[101:44] >> Yeah. Are they currently they're
[101:46] currently slated to come out the same
[101:48] day in 2027
[101:49] >> or or maybe like is this are we hoping
[101:51] for another Doomsday kind of a scenario?
[101:54] >> I mean also when you get that far out
[101:55] like studios kind of put dibs on dates
[101:58] way in advance and you know famously
[102:01] Marvel puts the earliest dibs and then
[102:03] everybody else gets out of the way. But
[102:04] maybe with Dune not Doom 3 not blinking
[102:07] this year maybe Warner's also thinking
[102:09] next year like yeah we're not going to
[102:10] blink on you then either.
[102:12] >> Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Um,
[102:15] >> I mean, they also are gonna be going up
[102:17] against The Housemaid, too. So, just
[102:20] saying. I don't know who's gonna win. It
[102:22] might be Housemaid
[102:24] >> with Kirsten Dunce joining the
[102:25] franchise.
[102:27] >> Uh, no. I didn't see the first
[102:28] Housemaid. Is Sydney Sweeney is the
[102:31] titular housemaid?
[102:32] >> Yes.
[102:33] >> And and she stays with the franchise and
[102:35] goes to a different house.
[102:36] >> Yeah. You have to watch to find out
[102:39] >> what it sets up. My girlfriend was
[102:41] watching it the other day while I was
[102:42] playing a video game and listening to
[102:45] like heavy thumping techno. So, I I
[102:47] missed what was going on in the film.
[102:49] >> Um, I'll just say just watch it. It's
[102:52] really It's a fun ride.
[102:53] >> Paul Feige, great director.
[102:54] >> Paul Fig. Love Paul Fig. Um, and I'm
[102:57] very excited to see what Kirsten Dun is
[103:00] going to do.
[103:00] >> Was wildly popular in theaters. That's
[103:02] what's going to save theaters. You know,
[103:04] a little
[103:04] >> Sydney Sweeney.
[103:05] >> Sydney Sweeney. Hell yeah.
[103:07] >> Well, that's what I was thinking. Like
[103:08] Fauler-in-law is a good example of like
[103:10] that movie needs to do good.
[103:12] >> Yes. For everyone. Hopefully it is good.
[103:14] >> That's the level of movie studios need
[103:16] to be making more frequently. We have
[103:17] another super chat. Uh
[103:20] >> uh X domat giving 20 bucks. 20 bucks for
[103:23] the over under 20%. Thank you X. Matt,
[103:25] you're a real one.
[103:26] >> Quick update. I earlier chugged a
[103:28] bureau. I will chug a second bureau. We
[103:30] hit four $400 in super chat. We are
[103:33] currently at $316.
[103:37] Oh, we're going to have to shotgun these
[103:39] bureaus.
[103:40] >> Berg has threatened to join me if we hit
[103:42] >> if we get to shotgun level. I I did
[103:44] promise I would join
[103:45] >> and 800. We're still a little ways off,
[103:47] but there's a chance.
[103:48] >> I mean, that's 500. That's not a lot.
[103:51] >> It's not a lot. For some people, it's
[103:52] not a lot.
[103:53] >> Uh uh Marvel Pirate asking how much time
[103:55] we have left on the stream. Presumably
[103:57] about another hour, maybe 45 minutes.
[103:59] >> We don't know. We got real burned by WB
[104:02] yesterday. People being like, we're just
[104:03] going to sit in it.
[104:04] >> They they had never heard Brevity is the
[104:06] solo wit. They didn't give a about
[104:07] it. They just kept chugging and
[104:09] chugging. Uh, but this is scheduled for
[104:11] about 2 hours. It started about uh 72
[104:14] minutes ago, 75 minutes ago. So, that's
[104:16] where we're at. We got a couple super
[104:18] chats coming through. Thank you
[104:19] everybody for supporting. Lowfi girl
[104:21] enthusiast. Uh, dragons and twos.
[104:24] >> Oh, how to train your dragon too.
[104:25] >> How to train your dragon too. Thank you,
[104:27] Abby, for translation.
[104:29] >> Two.
[104:31] >> Too legit. Too legit to quit. Um, and
[104:35] then we got a couple more. Aiden 784,
[104:38] what's the next movie y'all plan to go
[104:40] watch? Love from Oklahoma.
[104:42] Like next movie I want to see in
[104:44] theaters.
[104:45] >> The next one I have booked is Devil
[104:47] Wears Prada 2 opening night,
[104:50] >> but I think there's one I want to see
[104:53] Yum, Mei, and Tuskanyany that came out
[104:55] last weekend,
[104:57] >> but also I kind of want to see the
[104:58] Michael Jackson.
[104:58] >> You know, it's a it's a lighter month
[105:00] for movies. I mean, this is jumping way
[105:02] ahead. End of May. Definitely
[105:04] Mandalorian and Grou.
[105:05] >> Yeah,
[105:06] >> that that event is booked. I feel like
[105:07] that is a opening night. I need to see
[105:10] that. You know what? We'll see. We'll
[105:12] see what my schedule's like. Mortal
[105:13] Kombat 2.
[105:14] >> I also have a ticket booked for Mortal
[105:16] Kombat.
[105:17] >> Okay. You know what? I'm I'm a little I
[105:19] I still need to be convinced a little
[105:21] bit. I might wait to see what the
[105:22] reviews and the word of mouth is like on
[105:24] that, but I'll be there for that.
[105:26] >> There's There's a nonzero chance I wind
[105:28] up seeing The Mummy this weekend. I
[105:30] thought I can do it.
[105:30] >> I thought Evil Dead Rise was so
[105:34] fun. Like I I thought Lee Cronin just
[105:36] did such a great job with that. And the
[105:38] trailers for The Mummy didn't like blow
[105:40] my mind, but um I think there's there's
[105:43] a non-zero chance I wind up at The Mummy
[105:45] this weekend. Yeah.
[105:46] >> Uh okay, we've got an update from Eric
[105:48] in the room at Cinema Con. Um we've been
[105:52] he's been reporting on Minions and
[105:53] Monsters. Uh but Oh, great. Now we're
[105:56] getting uh we're hearing something about
[105:58] One Night Only, another Universal movie
[106:00] coming out in August. One Night Only,
[106:02] trailer shown at Cineacon, written and
[106:04] directed by Will Gluck. The film stars
[106:07] Monica Barbaro and Colum Turner as a
[106:09] couple who meets on the one night every
[106:11] year that people in this world are
[106:13] legally allowed to have sex. So it's the
[106:16] purge for sex, huh? Kind of. But the
[106:18] tone is not Twilight Zone. It's a
[106:20] steamy, sincere, heartfelt romance. Hang
[106:24] the DJesque. Okay. So, more like that
[106:26] Black Mirror uh uh episode where the
[106:29] simulations of the daters are trapped
[106:31] inside the simulated dating profile and
[106:33] have to go through like a thousand dates
[106:34] or whatever.
[106:35] >> I got to say I'm all in. Monica Barbaro
[106:38] is great. She was, if you saw a complete
[106:40] unknown, the Bob Dylan movie, she played
[106:42] um
[106:44] uh the famous folk singer,
[106:48] >> that one,
[106:49] >> Joan Bayz. Also, she was recently in
[106:51] that Chris Hemsworth Crime 101 film.
[106:55] Very talented actress. Uh, and then
[106:56] Callum Turner, uh, he was also one of
[106:59] the names that's getting floated as a
[107:01] potential Bond.
[107:02] >> Oh, really?
[107:03] >> He was in that Elizabeth Olsen uh, movie
[107:05] where she's dead and she has to pick
[107:07] between her two husbands in the
[107:08] afterlife, whatever that one was called.
[107:10] Okay, more updates.
[107:14] >> Okay, we've got super chat coming in
[107:17] here.
[107:18] Oh, okay. So, Universal horror movie
[107:22] movie Other Mommy, not to be confused
[107:24] with Mummy or Lee Cronin's Mummy, Other
[107:27] Mommy shows its trailer at Cineacon.
[107:29] Jessica Chastain is incredibly creepy in
[107:32] this very intense horror with the tone
[107:35] of Smile Too.
[107:36] >> Hopefully, it has the same practical
[107:38] effects as Smile Too, cuz that smile
[107:39] monster at the end of Smile 2
[107:41] rules. Just great practical effects. Um,
[107:45] Smile 2, also a Universal release, I
[107:48] believe.
[107:49] >> Uh, we got super chat coming in here.
[107:51] Uh, BJ Wilfried, $2 donation. What's
[107:53] your dream casting? Mine is Beyonce is
[107:55] Storm. I presume we're doing dream
[107:58] casting for X-Men. Uh, here
[108:00] >> or just general.
[108:01] >> Just Yeah, just broad. Uh, dream
[108:04] casting.
[108:04] >> I got to say I I appreciate the star
[108:06] power of Beyonce is great. I don't know
[108:09] if she brings the acting chops I would
[108:12] love to see from a storm. I don't know
[108:13] what her accent work would look like.
[108:15] Also, I feel like it'd be hard to look
[108:17] at the screen and think that that's
[108:18] anybody else, but
[108:19] >> I want Lupita Niongo as Storm.
[108:21] >> She would be good.
[108:22] >> Lupita Niongo can do that.
[108:24] >> Both of them might be Lupita famous.
[108:27] >> Well, Lupita Nyongo is younger than
[108:29] Beyonce. Beyonce's just a little old. No
[108:31] offense. I'm not trying to age shame
[108:32] anybody, but it seems like they're going
[108:33] with a very young early
[108:35] >> 20. Yeah,
[108:37] >> she's uh she's older than that. Uh but
[108:40] we got Okay, we got to get through some
[108:42] more super chats. Good. I like BJ
[108:43] Wolfries. Where your head's at though. I
[108:45] love Godzilla.MMPP3.
[108:48] Hope y'all are having a good Wednesday.
[108:50] Bureau soon, my man.
[108:52] >> I think so. I I really It's
[108:53] >> 5:00 somewhere.
[108:54] >> I signed on to this $400 shotgun pledge
[108:57] being like, I don't know. We'll get
[108:58] there. We're pretty close.
[109:00] >> We are dangerously close. I'm going to
[109:01] have to shotgun.
[109:02] >> You're like $55 close. Um, okay. More
[109:06] super chats.
[109:07] >> Uh, Joseph Bartholomew, our friend Joey
[109:10] movie I desperately need. Midnight Sun
[109:13] starring Blade, Moonnight, and Ghost
[109:15] Rider. You know what? Over under 20%, we
[109:17] hear about something like that tomorrow
[109:19] at the Disney.
[109:20] >> Honestly, yes. If if there is going to
[109:22] be any Blade news this decade, in
[109:24] theory, we'll get it tomorrow. Uh we've
[109:26] got a new uh tweet uh from the account,
[109:30] uh Eric saying, "Just saw a red band
[109:32] trailer for Violent Night 2. David
[109:34] Harbor gets bloody in a in a shopping
[109:36] mall where we see him stamp a cookie
[109:38] cutter in a dude's head and a patch of
[109:40] skin in the shape of a gingerbread man
[109:42] plops out. Yes.
[109:44] >> Not nasty. Also, a little Freudian slip
[109:46] there when he said shopping mall. M A U
[109:49] L. Also, that's because Eric's been
[109:50] doing the breakdowns for mall shadow
[109:52] lord, so he's been typing that word 200
[109:54] times. Uh,
[109:55] >> oh no.
[109:56] >> Fit Dad, CEO.
[109:59] friend of the channel but current enemy
[110:01] of Berg sending in a $56 super chat
[110:05] saying get shotgunning. I said I'd do
[110:07] it. Hand me a bow.
[110:09] >> My god.
[110:09] >> I said I'd do it. Hand me a barrel. I'm
[110:11] going to go grab a pair of scissors.
[110:12] >> Plan for this properly because this is
[110:14] like a live set.
[110:17] >> Computers.
[110:18] >> I'm going to go grab
[110:19] >> shout out to Fidad CEO who last uh was
[110:21] on this very set doing a um I believe it
[110:24] was a fan or Superman uh reaction
[110:26] episode. Everybody should be following
[110:28] him on on Instagram where he's very
[110:29] funny. Um, okay. Thank you so much.
[110:32] >> I got you got shotgun.
[110:34] >> Oh, shotgun.
[110:35] >> Okay, here we go.
[110:36] >> Okay. Wow. Look. Get Berg. Come in
[110:38] frame. Come in frame, B. Okay. There you
[110:40] go. There you go. You're good. You're
[110:41] good.
[110:45] >> Zach, you're not shotgun.
[110:51] >> Wow.
[110:52] >> Berg is I'm impressed. Honestly,
[110:55] >> this is insane.
[110:57] I don't
[110:58] >> again Berg biologically cannot burp. Um
[111:03] >> I cut the hole.
[111:04] >> You have to shotgun it.
[111:05] >> It's like
[111:06] >> this is a
[111:07] >> you're supposed to make the hole pretty
[111:08] big.
[111:08] >> This is a non-alcoholic IPA. It's not a
[111:11] good beer for shotgunning.
[111:16] >> We should have played We should have
[111:18] played like It is very tasty though.
[111:20] Hey,
[111:22] >> wow.
[111:24] >> Thank you to the chat for all your super
[111:25] chats. Thank you, Tom Holland, for
[111:27] making a delicious and refreshing
[111:28] non-alcoholic.
[111:31] >> The optimal way to consume it.
[111:32] >> Yeah, I got it.
[111:35] >> Okay, I'm still working on mine. I'm
[111:36] sorry.
[111:38] >> Oh, wait. Read the next super chat.
[111:41] >> Oh, okay. Uh, the only 33 B12. Okay,
[111:44] Berg just got hotter. Wait until you
[111:46] hear the noises my body makes in about
[111:49] half an hour. Um, yeah. Yeah. So, the
[111:52] issue with shotgunning is cuz I was I
[111:55] studied physics for a few years in
[111:57] college. That bottom hole needs to be
[111:59] pretty sizable to get the full flow of
[112:01] air to push all the beer through.
[112:03] >> Like, you know, you think of like when
[112:05] you're funneling a beer, the funnel is
[112:06] not like this tiny little straw. And
[112:09] what I just did was I got paranoid that
[112:11] I was going to spray beer everywhere
[112:12] because it started foaming out. So, just
[112:15] basically sucking beer through a straw
[112:17] out the bottom of a can. Um,
[112:20] >> wow. And you know what? We got we still
[112:22] got like 30 minutes left of this.
[112:23] >> We got 30 minutes to this. So,
[112:24] >> who knows where we'll go from here.
[112:26] >> Fit Dad CEO. Thank you. And also up
[112:29] yours.
[112:31] >> Well, if anyone wants to match the $400.
[112:34] >> Yeah.
[112:35] >> Yeah.
[112:36] >> Go Eagles. Fit Dad. How How's the team
[112:38] looking this year? I hope I hope they're
[112:40] making you happy. Okay. We've got some
[112:41] news uh coming out of um uh Vegas. Eric
[112:45] Voss reporting from In the Room. Ben
[112:47] Stiller takes the stage for Universal's
[112:49] Cineacon panel to talk about
[112:51] Fauler-in-law. Uh, the fourth Meet the
[112:54] Parents film. Stiller calls back
[112:56] Christopher Nolan's joke earlier in the
[112:58] showcase. I'm Ben Stiller. I'm the one
[113:00] actor not in the Odyssey.
[113:03] >> Good bit.
[113:06] Ben Stiller, funny guy. Uh, Vaker, have
[113:09] you seen all of the entries in the
[113:11] Fauler franchise?
[113:11] >> Oh, no, no, no. I saw the first one and
[113:13] I and then I tapped out. I have been
[113:16] planning a marathon in honor of I love
[113:20] Ariana Grande.
[113:21] >> Uhhuh.
[113:22] >> So, she's I'm seated for her.
[113:24] >> Okay.
[113:24] >> So, I'll catch up.
[113:25] >> We were trying to remember. So, there's
[113:27] meet the parents. Meet the
[113:29] What's the other?
[113:30] >> Little
[113:30] >> Little was the third one. Okay,
[113:32] great.
[113:34] >> Um, okay. We got super chat flag from
[113:36] Brian. Um, Carson Robinson 3 C3Q. Uh, $5
[113:41] super chat over under 20% tomorrow
[113:43] stream. Disney and Paramount will be
[113:44] five plus hours.
[113:46] >> Our stream.
[113:46] >> Our stream. No, we're not going to cover
[113:48] Paramount tomorrow. We are going to
[113:50] cover Disney. The reason for that being
[113:52] there are only so many of us left here
[113:54] in LA to take care of the channel while
[113:56] Eric and Jess are also working their
[113:59] asses off in Vegas.
[114:00] >> Also, Berg and I will both be bureau
[114:01] hung over.
[114:03] >> I'm doing this by myself.
[114:05] >> A reminder after we are going to cease
[114:07] our live stream after the Universal
[114:09] panel wraps up later tonight. Uh there
[114:12] is an MGM Amazon panel. We won't be
[114:14] covering that live. We will be recapping
[114:16] that and tomorrow morning's early
[114:18] Paramount panel during our Disney panel
[114:21] coverage tomorrow afternoon. Uh we've
[114:24] got one more. So under 20% that it goes
[114:27] 5 hours tomorrow. Uh John Hobs over
[114:30] under 20%. We get some dino news. I
[114:33] think that could be
[114:34] >> Zach thinks we will. I think uh I I
[114:37] think it's a little far out, but they
[114:39] could just announce it just to get
[114:40] people kind of excited for it.
[114:42] >> We're almost a year since Jurassic World
[114:44] Rebirth, a movie they turned around in
[114:47] 12 months. It went from like can you
[114:50] write this script to being in theaters
[114:52] in like almost exactly?
[114:53] >> It went from we have a sick dino scene
[114:55] in previs. Can you write a script
[114:56] around?
[114:57] >> And you know what? When watching that
[114:58] movie, it feels like it came out really
[115:00] fast.
[115:01] >> Yes. Yes. My biggest beef with that
[115:03] movie, I've brought this up multiple
[115:04] times, but why not? The movie begins
[115:07] with we're in a world in which like
[115:09] dinosaurs have become mundane and people
[115:12] are tired of d of regular dinosaurs.
[115:15] It's so much that like dinosaur zoos are
[115:18] getting neglected because nobody goes to
[115:20] them, which is so insane when you think
[115:22] about people still pay to go to zoos and
[115:26] see a tiger in the real world. We would
[115:30] never get tired of seeing a
[115:32] >> brachiosaurus. Like that's why we like
[115:34] Jurassic World.
[115:35] >> I'm sending right now to Brian three
[115:38] images from my phone from a dinosaur
[115:40] book I'm currently reading called
[115:42] Dinosaurs and Figures the Sarapods.
[115:45] >> That's a lot for everyone.
[115:47] >> And but Brian, we'll see. We'll see if
[115:48] Brian thinks these are safe to show on
[115:50] screen. I think they're not
[115:51] >> not safe for work.
[115:52] >> Well, two of them are. And one of them
[115:53] is
[115:54] >> more appropriate than Shrek is love.
[115:56] Shrek is life.
[115:57] >> I don't know. Uh, we've got a couple
[115:58] super chats coming in and I already see
[116:00] a couple of these are spicy. Um,
[116:04] >> very Oh,
[116:05] >> yeah.
[116:06] >> Smallest pubes.
[116:07] >> Pub pubis.
[116:08] >> Pubis.
[116:10] >> No, it says pubes.
[116:11] >> It says pubes.
[116:12] >> And then look, this is just a list. I
[116:14] got I got duped into reading a list of a
[116:16] book and I can't stop a book once I
[116:18] start it. So, this is the dino news
[116:20] you're getting from me today.
[116:21] >> We've got some Did you guys think you
[116:22] were going to get that when you showed
[116:23] up for the Universal Panel coverage?
[116:25] >> Dinosaur boners. Um, we overd deliver
[116:27] here. We've got some more Meet the
[116:28] Fauler news. Um, Robert Dairo joins Ben
[116:33] Stiller on stage for Fauler-in-law at
[116:35] Cinema Con. Over under 20%, he mentions
[116:37] Trump. Um, Stiller says that when they
[116:40] made the first film, Dairo was 57 years
[116:42] old and now that's how old Ben Stiller
[116:45] is. Wow.
[116:46] >> Wow. Dairo compares their careers and
[116:49] Stiller says that his raging bull was
[116:51] Madagascar.
[116:53] >> Amazing. Dairo. I prefer the one with
[116:55] the minions. What? Where are we? That's
[116:57] a good one. Uh, there's some scripted
[117:00] talk between the actors where Dairo
[117:03] warns Stiller not to compare his career
[117:05] to Ariana Grande since she was nominated
[117:07] for an Oscar. I didn't write that. Dairo
[117:10] ad libs. Stiller says, I presented.
[117:12] Dairo says, so did Bill Maher.
[117:15] >> He's feisty.
[117:17] >> Then I didn't write that either. Uh, I
[117:19] love I love it when you sell out uh the
[117:21] writers of your uh bitly. Yes.
[117:24] >> You know what I mean? Um,
[117:26] >> you did. He's earned it. Uh, we got
[117:28] super chat flag from Brian uh uh uh N
[117:33] Gravois. $5 super chat. Who's your dream
[117:35] casting to play the dream cast in the
[117:37] console wars movie?
[117:39] >> What?
[117:40] >> Timmy Shalomé. He's a real dream boat.
[117:42] Honestly, Tim Timothy the Shalom used to
[117:44] have a YouTube channel where he would do
[117:46] mods on Xbox controllers like so. Yeah,
[117:49] that's actually
[117:49] >> my man games. My man games. Uh he
[117:52] doesn't sing opera or do ballet, but he
[117:53] games. Okay. Uh more more super chats
[117:56] here.
[117:57] >> I think we skipped one about happy tax
[117:59] day. Shout out that happy tax day.
[118:02] >> Andrew Garrett, K7M saying, "I'm
[118:04] inviting Berg to my next house party.
[118:06] The Berg you want at your house party is
[118:10] self-medicating Berg from college. The
[118:12] Berg you'll get at your house party is
[118:14] the one who shows up and is there for 15
[118:16] minutes and goes like, "I'm sorry, man.
[118:17] This is like way too much for me. I got
[118:18] to head out."
[118:19] >> Though I I will say if you just leave a
[118:22] bowl of almonds out on a counter in your
[118:24] house,
[118:24] >> I'll appear.
[118:25] >> Bird will appear.
[118:26] >> I'll appear. I'll count them out into
[118:28] fours. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Today I was
[118:31] eating almonds while walking on a
[118:32] treadmill watching X-Men Days of Future
[118:34] Past was truly in my full element.
[118:37] >> Uh more more super chats or no we do we
[118:39] have we have an update from the room in
[118:42] at Cinema Con um from Eric Voss who is
[118:46] uh sitting there and transcribing what
[118:47] he's seeing. Um the trailer for
[118:51] Faulner-in-law looks pretty great.
[118:53] Ariana Grande plays a too good to be
[118:55] true prospective daughter-in-law to Ben
[118:57] Stiller who worries that his former uh
[119:01] that this former FBI interrogator is
[119:03] manipulating his impressionable son
[119:05] Skyler Gazando and finds himself at odds
[119:08] with the rest of the family. Everyone
[119:10] coming back from the earlier films over
[119:12] her charms. The comedy is as broad as
[119:14] ever, but this multigenerational family
[119:16] comedy looks promising. So, if I'm
[119:18] understanding the dynamic, she's too
[119:20] good to be true, but Ben Stiller is the
[119:22] only one that is suspicious.
[119:25] >> It that's what it sounds like. Yeah.
[119:27] >> Yeah. Okay. That's really fun. And then
[119:29] we'll we'll get some reveal that she has
[119:30] some dark history or something.
[119:32] >> Do you think he's offended of like all
[119:34] the antics he had to go through and then
[119:37] she fits right in and he's triggered?
[119:39] >> Oh, yeah. Probably. Right. Why were you
[119:41] so suspicious as me? Just because I was
[119:43] a nurse, right?
[119:44] >> Yeah.
[119:45] >> I I have nipples. Greg, would you milk
[119:47] me?
[119:48] >> We're getting some chatter that the
[119:50] trailer for uh Fauler is is live to the
[119:55] public. Brian, I don't know if it's
[119:56] possible to pull that up so that we can
[119:57] get it on screen.
[119:59] >> I can do a do a watch along.
[120:02] >> Yeah,
[120:08] >> I have the tweet a tweet.
[120:09] >> So, we are for those just joining, we
[120:11] are currently looking for the trailer
[120:12] for Fauler-in-law. We've been told it's
[120:14] been released to the public.
[120:15] >> Yeah. Kyle, uh, Brian works on that.
[120:17] We've got some super chats. Darnell
[120:19] Smith 7827, thank you for, hey, send in
[120:22] a $5 donation. Appreciate you. Nene's
[120:25] 24, what movie are you most excited to
[120:27] see this year? I mean,
[120:29] >> Doom Dune 3
[120:30] >> or Odyssey, maybe Odyssey
[120:32] >> and and it's it's tight. And then
[120:33] Doomsday, I mean, we're it's it's it's
[120:35] peak cinema, guys. It's we're we're
[120:37] we're eating good this year. Couple more
[120:39] super chats. Marvel, our friend Marvel
[120:40] Pirate Zach and Berg feeling a placebo
[120:43] effect, I think.
[120:44] >> No placebo, my friend. I'm bloated as
[120:46] crap.
[120:46] >> Yeah. Also, I was this silly and
[120:49] incoherent from the jump. Marvel pirate.
[120:51] I'm always My secret is I'm always
[120:54] goofy. Um, okay. We've got an update
[120:57] here.
[120:59] Uh, Eric saying, "Now we're watching a
[121:01] trailer for a film very important to our
[121:03] viewers, Sense and Sensibility." Uh,
[121:06] seriously, I might break this movie down
[121:08] just to further enrage the fans of
[121:10] Paradise and From. Uh, honestly, it
[121:13] looks so good. Um, will you know when
[121:15] Eric is motivated to do a rage
[121:17] breakdown? That is cinema at its finest.
[121:20] >> So, this I mean there's been multiple uh
[121:22] sense of sensibility is in the public
[121:24] domain. Anybody can make one and there's
[121:26] been a lot of them made. This one though
[121:27] is starring um Daisy Edgar.
[121:29] >> Daisy Edgar Jones. Yes. Of uh Twisters
[121:33] and uh Where the Croad Sing or whatever.
[121:36] Um
[121:37] >> yeah.
[121:38] >> Uh okay. Okay. And from uh director
[121:40] Georgia Oakley, who I don't I don't know
[121:42] anything about Georgia Oakley.
[121:44] >> Uh Loi girl lore enthusiast $5 super
[121:46] chat saying uh Kristen Bell is playing
[121:48] Mrs. Claus in Violent Night 2. That's
[121:50] great casting. Um
[121:54] uh oh, I'm getting
[121:58] I just got a I got a DM from Jessica
[122:01] Clemens. I'm going to read it out loud.
[122:02] >> Okay.
[122:03] >> One note less Dino Dong otherwise you're
[122:07] doing great. I came for Shrek.
[122:10] >> Wait, Jessica Clemens, who's in the room
[122:12] in Vegas watching this panel, is somehow
[122:14] watching our stream. She must have
[122:15] stepped out. Or
[122:16] >> she must have stepped out.
[122:17] >> Or maybe she's getting third party
[122:18] notifications.
[122:19] >> Maybe Brian Brian's a rat. Brian ratted
[122:22] me out saying I sent Dino Pubes to him
[122:25] or whatever.
[122:26] >> When this stream gets demonetized,
[122:28] you'll know it was the Dino Pubes. Okay.
[122:30] Oh, we've got another update.
[122:32] >> Okay. Um Oh, trailer for Werewolf.
[122:36] That's what I want to see. I didn't
[122:38] think we'd get it.
[122:39] >> And it was Savage.
[122:40] >> Savage. Yes.
[122:41] >> Oh, I bet. So, if you're not familiar,
[122:44] uh Dave Dave Edgars, Robert Edgars,
[122:46] Robert Edgars, uh most recently of
[122:49] Noseratu, but he's also done The
[122:51] Lighthouse and um witch, right, is kind
[122:55] of continuing his trilogy of period
[122:57] piece uh monster movies and is doing a
[123:00] werewolf movie with crazy spelling
[123:02] because he's that hardcore. Yeah. uh
[123:05] with a lot of the cast returning. I
[123:07] think we're getting William Defoe, Lily
[123:09] Rose Depp are both in it. Um I'm not
[123:12] sure who else.
[123:14] >> I mean if if you don't just those two
[123:16] sentences doesn't get you in then the
[123:18] movie is not meant for you.
[123:19] >> I will say having having recently
[123:21] rewatched the lighthouse which is W Defo
[123:23] and Robert Patson it's it's incredible.
[123:26] It's not a horror movie. That one's like
[123:28] a comedy. Noatu is a straightup horror
[123:30] movie and I I loved it. I
[123:32] thought it was fantastic.
[123:33] >> Yes. bought the sixoot stand cutout.
[123:35] Used it to scare the crap out of house
[123:37] guests multiple times. It's a good time.
[123:39] Um, uh, being teased, according to Sarah
[123:42] Hatchorian, is Robert Edgar's most
[123:43] terrifying film yet. We got super chat,
[123:46] uh, from, uh, just went away. Uh, Madmat
[123:50] 9004, uh, over under 20% Jurassic Park X
[123:53] Fast and Furious movie
[123:55] >> or like a combo movie.
[123:57] >> The family has to like get in and out of
[124:00] Jurassic Park with fancy cars. I I I
[124:03] live my life 50 million years at a time.
[124:05] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're racing for
[124:08] DNA pink slips.
[124:08] >> That'd be pretty fun. Also, there
[124:10] there's some like weird uh AI company
[124:13] that's working on that movie right now.
[124:15] >> Um Aaron Taylor Johnson also in
[124:16] Werewolf. He's kind of
[124:17] >> That's right. Yeah. Yeah.
[124:18] >> the male lead there. And Ralph Innocent
[124:20] Galactis himself
[124:24] was also in The Witch. Robert Edgar for
[124:26] >> showed up in had a he showed up I
[124:28] believe a little bit in Noseratu as the
[124:30] doctor. He was recently in Frankenstein.
[124:32] He's he's getting all his his punch
[124:34] cards. The Green Knight, of course. Uh,
[124:36] okay. Super chat according to Brian.
[124:38] >> Uh, Joseph Bartholomew 6253. Zack, in
[124:41] other words, you have to suspend
[124:43] disbelief more about the people not
[124:45] going to dino zoos than the belief of
[124:47] actual living dinosaurs.
[124:50] >> Yes. You need in consistent internal
[124:52] logic in your movie, right? And like
[124:55] nobody's going to believe that people
[124:57] are tired of gigantic
[125:00] uh dinosaurs.
[125:01] >> No one's tired of elephants yet. We're
[125:03] not tired of giraffes.
[125:04] >> Yes, they're still fired of whales. I
[125:06] >> I don't But yeah, I mean, you're right.
[125:08] Why am I nitpicking this? But you know
[125:09] what? You know why I'm nitpicking it?
[125:11] Cuz we're on the New Rockstars channel
[125:12] and that's our job here. What' you say,
[125:14] Abby?
[125:14] >> And the movie was stupid.
[125:15] >> And also, the movie was stupid. Even
[125:18] beyond that, that happened in the first
[125:19] 10 minutes. Plenty of other stupid
[125:21] things happened after that. It was not a
[125:23] good Jurassic movie.
[125:24] >> We've never had like a good Jurassic
[125:25] movie of dinosaurs in like we've had
[125:29] moments where they go into society, but
[125:31] not a fully dinosaurs in society movie.
[125:36] >> Yeah, maybe uh the end of Oak Street
[125:38] will be that movie.
[125:39] >> Maybe end of Oak Street trailer looked
[125:41] promising. Uh we got another super chat
[125:42] coming in here. Sarah Hatchorium $5. If
[125:45] someone had previously previously asked
[125:47] over under 20%, Berg shows Brian his
[125:50] NSFW dino picks, I would have taken the
[125:53] under for sure. Living for these
[125:54] surprises today. This book I'm reading
[125:57] is so boring. The only way I can amuse
[126:01] myself is by taking pictures of the
[126:03] silliest parts and sending them to
[126:05] friends and being like, "Look at this
[126:06] book I duped myself into reading."
[126:08] Brian, if you need to file a report with
[126:10] HR that Berg was showing you for work.
[126:14] >> I'll double down. I'll bring more pics
[126:16] to the HR meeting.
[126:19] >> Um, okay. More super chats. Darnell
[126:22] Smith 7827 Berg is the freaking man. $2
[126:24] donation. Darnell, you're the freaking
[126:26] man. You're giving us money. You're
[126:27] directly supporting the channel. You
[126:29] make it possible for us to sit here and
[126:30] talk about movies. We appreciate
[126:32] everybody super chatting. Uh uh Joseph
[126:35] Bartholomew 6253 werewolf was wearing an
[126:38] Edgar's suit. Terrifying image. Imagine
[126:40] all the hair popping out under the
[126:41] latex.
[126:42] >> Wait, that's a bit right.
[126:45] >> Has to be. There's not a Did you think
[126:48] you just mistyped and you meant to say
[126:49] Edgars was wearing a werewolf suit?
[126:51] >> Could be. Could be. We don't have to.
[126:53] >> I'd like to believe that the werewolf is
[126:55] there.
[126:55] >> Oh, they have an actual werewolf there,
[126:57] but he's wearing the suit of a man.
[126:59] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[126:59] >> I love that. Like a weird like a Men in
[127:01] Black. Uh, can I borrow some sugar kind
[127:04] of moment?
[127:04] >> One for a cat. Means worlds to me.
[127:07] >> Um, and gravo Mario Kart X uh Fast and
[127:11] Furious. I almost said Final Fantasy uh
[127:13] X Fast and Furious X Dinos. Hell yeah. I
[127:16] agree.
[127:16] >> What if Yeah, it's like if Universal is
[127:18] just like, you know what, let's take all
[127:19] of our biggest franchises rather than
[127:21] having rather than keeping them separate
[127:23] and having each of them be successful,
[127:25] let's squish them all together and just
[127:27] have one mega movie. That's how you save
[127:29] theaters right there.
[127:30] >> Yes.
[127:32] Um,
[127:34] uh, great. It's kind of like when
[127:35] Marvel's like, you know, we've got a lot
[127:36] of great superheroes people would love
[127:37] to see in their own movies or we put
[127:40] them all in an Avengers movie.
[127:42] >> Yeah. Can we watch the Fauler-in-law
[127:44] trailer?
[127:44] >> Oh, yeah. Abby sent it to Brian.
[127:47] >> Uh, well, first we got we got an update
[127:49] from In the Room.
[127:50] >> Stephen
[127:51] >> Steven Spielberg is on stage. Immediate
[127:54] standing ovation from the crowd. He says
[127:57] into the microphone, "Abby, you'll never
[127:59] get to see this trailer."
[128:01] >> He says, "Bring Snoop Dogg out."
[128:04] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[128:06] >> I I think I do have the trailer.
[128:09] >> Okay. We're getting word from Brian that
[128:11] the trailer is almost ready to roll.
[128:12] We'll get that while we're waiting for
[128:13] whatever Disclosure Day news Spielberg
[128:15] is about to give us.
[128:27] Yeah, I'm just gonna put a small just so
[128:30] we don't get taken down.
[128:31] >> We're going to do our best to not get
[128:33] >> You don't have to get taken down.
[128:34] >> We can talk over it. Uh,
[128:36] >> that's what the audience really wants.
[128:38] >> Yeah, the audience really wants us
[128:39] talking over it. Okay, we're seeing
[128:40] classic lie detector test in the Fauler
[128:42] basement.
[128:44] >> Do you want to turn it?
[128:46] >> Ariana Grande's perfectly manicured
[128:48] fingers.
[128:49] >> Okay. All right.
[128:51] >> Looks fine. Big big studio comedy. We've
[128:53] got an update from Eric in the room at
[128:56] the Universal panel. Coleman Domingo and
[128:58] MBA chairman Charlie Rivkin present
[129:01] Stephen Spielberg with the America 250
[129:03] award. The highest honor of the MPA.
[129:07] It's like a purple heart but from the
[129:08] Motion Picture Association.
[129:10] >> All right, I'll take it. Uh, fun fact,
[129:12] Spielberg's Indiana Jones in the Temple
[129:14] of Doom, its heart ripping violence and
[129:16] dark themes, is considered the film
[129:18] responsible for the then MPAA adopting
[129:21] the new PG-13 rating between PG&R.
[129:24] >> I heard it was that and Gremlins in
[129:26] concert
[129:28] what I have in my head, Canon, but I
[129:30] don't know that that's accurate.
[129:31] >> Wonder if they're saying that on stage
[129:32] or that's just Eric who needs to insert
[129:34] um Easter eggs and fun fact. Yeah. Yeah.
[129:36] >> Things you might have missed into his
[129:38] tweet.
[129:38] >> It just comes out naturally.
[129:39] >> It comes out naturally. We got a super
[129:41] chat uh uh coming up. Thank you, Brian.
[129:43] Carson Robinson, C3Q. Over under 20%, we
[129:46] get cinema crossover film. That's just
[129:47] every big franchise combined in like 50
[129:50] years.
[129:50] >> We got it. It's called Ready Player One.
[129:54] >> Also, um
[129:55] >> from Spielberg. Yeah.
[129:56] >> Uh you know, uh LeBron James' Space Jam
[130:00] had some of those elements.
[130:02] >> Chip and Dale uh had some of those
[130:04] elements.
[130:05] >> Yeah. Here's the thing. Uh, it's kind of
[130:07] fun, but like it's kind of better if
[130:10] they have individual well-told stories,
[130:13] too, right? I don't need to see a DC
[130:15] Marvel crossover movie. I'd rather just
[130:17] have good DC movies and good Marvel
[130:18] movies.
[130:19] >> You think they'll get that desperate?
[130:22] >> The The reason Roger Rabbit worked
[130:24] wasn't because of the crossovers. It was
[130:26] because it was a solid noir detective
[130:28] story.
[130:28] >> Yes, absolutely.
[130:29] >> We got another super chat uh uh coming
[130:31] in here. Uh, Joseph Bartholomew 6253.
[130:34] Hansel is so hot right now. Zoolander
[130:37] heads know what he's all on about. We're
[130:38] all getting our orange mocha
[130:39] frappuccinos up in here today. Okay, we
[130:41] know what's going on. Uh Zoolander was a
[130:44] hangover movie for me when I was in in
[130:46] college.
[130:46] >> Oh, cuz uh The Hangover was a Zoolander
[130:49] movie for me.
[130:50] >> It was I had two groups of friends.
[130:52] Depending on who I was hung over with,
[130:53] we would watch either Zoolander or
[130:55] Shanghai Nights starring Oh, so
[130:57] >> but either way, no Wilson jam. Yeah. Um
[131:00] well, I'm a graduate of the school for
[131:02] kids who can't read good, so still can't
[131:05] read good.
[131:07] >> Yeah, we're we're all we're all
[131:09] recovering from derelict uh and seeing
[131:11] it just h happen for real at some point.
[131:14] Um
[131:16] okay, let's see. We are still waiting on
[131:20] updated see if we'll get some footage
[131:22] from uh disclosure day here. It's fun to
[131:25] see Spielberg return to aliens and UFOs.
[131:28] This is clearly,
[131:30] >> you know, uh, ET and um, uh, Close
[131:34] Encounters, you know, uh, this is
[131:37] clearly something that has inspired
[131:39] wonder in him for a long time, and that,
[131:41] I think, is the emotion he is best at
[131:45] transmitting via film, arguably. Um, so
[131:49] I'm I'm optimistic for Disclosure Day.
[131:52] I'm I'm kind of curious to get a little
[131:53] bit of a better look at it. Real quick,
[131:55] just to go back to uh Robert Edgar's
[131:57] Werewolf discussing film has a quick
[131:59] synopsis here. Uh the movie follows a
[132:01] gothic world where towns folk are
[132:03] investigating a brutal werewolf
[132:06] terrifying their town. That's a classic
[132:08] kind of werewolf story. And the movie is
[132:10] presented in 43 aspect ratio.
[132:13] >> Now, where's your where's your shirt?
[132:14] >> I wore it yesterday, so it's dirty. I
[132:16] couldn't wear it today, but I believe 43
[132:19] is um like everything Robert Edgars
[132:22] does, arcane, right? That is not a
[132:25] modern or pleasant way to uh consume a
[132:27] movie. But
[132:28] >> look what he shot Lighthouse in.
[132:29] Lighthouse might have been 43
[132:30] >> because that that would be is it so not
[132:34] as wide as most widescreen formats,
[132:36] right? That's more boxy kind of.
[132:37] >> Oh no. So sorry. Lighthouse was shot in
[132:39] 1.19 to one, which is even boxier.
[132:44] Uh do some quick Googling here. Um oh,
[132:49] it's old the old CRT. The old CRT. Uh uh
[132:53] >> yeah, it's like a television show, which
[132:56] is weird. Okay, we got a super chat
[132:57] coming through.
[132:59] >> Uh Sarah Hatch and Fight Super Chat
[133:01] Spielberg saying, "I haven't done a
[133:03] western yet, but that's next I hope." I
[133:05] mean, if you saw uh The Fableman's
[133:09] >> Yeah.
[133:09] >> that movie ends with a an anecdote based
[133:12] on uh Stephen Spielberg's real life
[133:14] experiences of meeting famous Western
[133:17] director John Ford, played in the
[133:19] Fableman's by, rest in peace, David
[133:20] Lynch,
[133:22] >> and you know, he he points him at a
[133:24] picture uh it's the best line ever uh on
[133:27] the wall and he's like, "See that see
[133:29] that picture? It's like of a landscape."
[133:30] He's like, "If the if the horizon is up
[133:34] high, it's a good photo. If it's down
[133:36] low, it's a good photo. If it's in the
[133:38] middle, it's a bad photo or whatever."
[133:40] Like talking about movies. And then
[133:42] Stephen Spielberg leaves that or a young
[133:43] Fableman kid who's standing in for
[133:45] Steven Spielberg walks out on the lot
[133:47] after he leaves his office and the
[133:49] camera pans so that it's
[133:51] >> a good fun. Like, ah, one of the best.
[133:54] Great movie, great ending. I would love
[133:56] to see a Steen Spielberg western. We got
[133:57] a super chat coming through from Vibe
[134:00] Woodchuck. Uh fave trailer of the year
[134:03] disclosure day for me. I mean it's just
[134:08] completely biased but doing three. Um
[134:12] but I am hopeful that that that gets
[134:15] planted or tied tomorrow when I see a
[134:17] killer ass Doomsday trailer. It's I
[134:22] literally the Dune 3 trailer had me
[134:24] pounding my chest so hard with
[134:26] excitement that my girlfriend had to ask
[134:28] me to stop.
[134:29] >> Yes.
[134:30] >> She was like, "Please don't do that."
[134:32] And I was like, "Okay, yeah, fair." But
[134:33] it's just like, "Yeah."
[134:35] You know, like I just I was I got I I
[134:36] was pretty stoked on it. It's going to
[134:38] be hard to top that.
[134:39] >> I I got to say and like I have full
[134:41] faith Spielberg's a master, one of the
[134:44] best directors we've ever had.
[134:45] Disclosure day will probably be awesome.
[134:48] I pinged in the trailer just a little
[134:49] bit because of the CGI animals. And now
[134:52] that is something that often looks worse
[134:54] in a trailer than when you're watching
[134:55] in the movie because in the trailer
[134:56] you're just showing showing quick shots
[134:59] whereas in a movie you're seeing it in
[135:00] kind of the context of a longer
[135:01] sequence. So like your your mind kind of
[135:04] adapts to the uncanny valley a little
[135:05] bit better. I was like CGI Moose. Uh I
[135:09] don't know. So I'm that that kept it
[135:11] from being my favorite trailer of the
[135:13] year.
[135:14] >> Yeah. Yeah. the the second teaser,
[135:16] whatever they showed, I thought like
[135:18] gave a little bit more of the movie, a
[135:19] little bit less of the CGI moose or
[135:20] whatever it was. Um,
[135:22] >> was it an elk?
[135:24] >> I think it was I think it was an elk or
[135:25] a reindeer or something. It didn't have
[135:26] the dlap you would expect to see on a
[135:29] moose. Um,
[135:30] >> good over under 20% use of dlap
[135:32] organically within the
[135:33] >> organic dlap usage. I chugged a bureau.
[135:37] There's there's going to be dlap all
[135:38] over the place.
[135:38] >> We get a couple more bureaus in us,
[135:40] it'll be more like don't lap.
[135:43] Haha.
[135:46] >> That's how you know the joke landed when
[135:47] you get a a resigned haha from Abby. Um,
[135:52] what was your favorite trailer of the
[135:54] year Abby?
[135:55] >> Um, Dune went pretty hard. I would say
[135:58] Doomsday had maybe the worst trailers
[136:02] for me.
[136:02] >> Yeah.
[136:03] >> Yeah. In terms of getting excited,
[136:04] >> that wasn't the question. But I I
[136:06] actually didn't hate um Spider-Man:
[136:08] Brand New Day.
[136:09] >> I thought that was a great trailer.
[136:10] >> It was good. I like the I like the
[136:12] needle drops. I thought it was it was
[136:14] good and I I anticipate even more good
[136:15] trailers for that film coming forward.
[136:17] Yeah.
[136:19] >> Um
[136:20] >> got a Zach is funny from Sarah V in the
[136:22] chat.
[136:24] >> Hey, there's one. There's one.
[136:28] >> Where's Steven Spielberg at?
[136:29] >> For those of you just tuning in, we're
[136:31] waiting on it seems like they're going
[136:32] to show some Disclosure Day footage from
[136:34] Spielberg. Real quick, we want to do a
[136:36] plug. Uh, if you are in the LA area, uh,
[136:39] Friday night, April 17th at 7 PM, New
[136:42] Rockstars is going to be doing a live
[136:43] reading of Morbius at UCB Theater. Uh,
[136:46] if you're in LA, you can get a ticket,
[136:48] come see us live. Uh, if you're not in
[136:50] LA, you can get a ticket and watch the
[136:51] live stream. Um, and, uh, if you wanted
[136:54] to watch our last show, uh, where we did
[136:56] a live read of a leaked Kang Dynasty
[136:58] script, you can do that on NR
[137:00] Underground. But uh but right now, head
[137:02] down in the chat uh uh in the
[137:04] description rather uh click the link for
[137:06] ucbcomdy.com. You'll be able to get
[137:07] tickets and live stream tickets to our
[137:09] uh MorbiiUS live. Also, uh thank you all
[137:12] so much for being here and supporting
[137:14] us. If you want to support us by getting
[137:15] a t-shirt, a a hoodie, a beanie, a a mug
[137:19] from Nerdriot.shop,
[137:21] go to nerdriot.shop. Uh Zach's holding
[137:23] up uh some of our Spider-Man merch right
[137:25] here. Um nerd riot.shop. I'm going to
[137:28] button my lip because we're getting news
[137:29] from Brian that we've got a fresh tweet
[137:31] coming in.
[137:31] >> And is this the the addendum to the
[137:33] previous tweet, Brian? Is that the one
[137:34] you're talking about?
[137:34] >> I think so.
[137:35] >> Oh, well, we also have just real quick,
[137:36] Eric added the little anecdote about
[137:38] Temple of Doom. And I guess immediately
[137:40] after he tweeted it, the NBA chief
[137:42] Charlie Riiffken mentioned the same
[137:44] anecdote. So, he's on the same
[137:45] wavelength as the NBA chief, but we've
[137:48] got a new uh bit here. Steven Spielberg
[137:50] praises Universal's commitment to a
[137:52] minimum 45day window for theatrical
[137:55] distribution for first release films.
[137:58] Uh, not to get greedy, but do I hear 60
[138:01] days? Do I hear 120 days? 180. Someone
[138:05] in the crowd shouted. Me? That was me.
[138:08] Um, uh, yeah, that's that's a little
[138:11] pandery. That's going to go over really
[138:12] good in this crowd.
[138:14] >> Yes. uh because the studios or the the
[138:16] theaters will always want as long a
[138:19] theatrical window as possible. Um now
[138:21] the movie studios maybe not so much.
[138:23] Yeah.
[138:24] >> Um because you know again we were
[138:25] talking about it a little earlier the
[138:27] window got shortened to zero basically
[138:29] during the pandemic and then it's kind
[138:31] of been there's been this flex thing
[138:32] like Universal does this thing if a
[138:33] movie comes out underperforms they
[138:35] almost immediately move it to paid video
[138:37] on demand so they can kind of take
[138:38] advantage of the marketing they've
[138:40] already already spent. But there's been
[138:42] some evidence and studies that have been
[138:44] done that that is eroding
[138:46] >> theatrical uh profits a little bit
[138:49] because people are starting to expect,
[138:50] well, I'll be able to watch this at home
[138:51] in two weeks. Why do I need to go to a
[138:53] movie theater?
[138:54] >> We got a new tweet from Eric saying, I
[138:55] didn't shout it that loud. The crowd was
[138:57] already cheering, so I don't know if
[138:59] anyone heard me except for some confused
[139:01] slashan annoyed press folks sitting in
[139:02] front of me. I think he's referring to
[139:04] Jess.
[139:06] >> Jessica sitting right in front of Eric.
[139:08] Uh yeah.
[139:11] Uh that's great. When we'll we'll we got
[139:13] to check the the uh Twitters of all the
[139:16] other press and see if they're
[139:17] complaining about a loud blonde man who
[139:20] was shouting at Steven Spielberg.
[139:22] >> Um yeah.
[139:25] >> Okay. We got a super chat coming in.
[139:26] Thank you, Brian. Uh John Hobs 8814. Do
[139:29] you believe in aliens? Hot button topic.
[139:34] I'm gonna say it would be insane if we
[139:37] were the only ones out there, but I
[139:38] don't think aliens have visited Earth or
[139:40] anything like that. I think there's
[139:41] probably extraterrestrial life on
[139:44] Enceladus, Europa. I think anywhere
[139:46] where complex chemistry happens, life is
[139:48] almost certainly bound to happen, but I
[139:50] don't think anyone's come and visit us
[139:52] and taken our sheep and, you know, done
[139:53] any dissections or anything like that.
[139:55] That's my thinking.
[139:57] >> Yeah, I'm on the same page. I don't
[139:59] think any world government is competent
[140:02] enough to keep something like that from
[140:05] us.
[140:05] >> Yes. Yes.
[140:06] >> Um and I think though there are like
[140:08] weird mysteries and like you know uh
[140:11] unidentified flying objects and things
[140:12] like that but like the explanations are
[140:15] much less fun than aliens.
[140:17] >> And also a lot of times people tend to
[140:19] go well it's unexplained. It has to be
[140:21] an alien. That's an explanation. Sit
[140:23] with the wonder. Sit with the mystery.
[140:24] Let it be unexplained.
[140:26] >> Yeah.
[140:26] >> That's what I'm saying. And you know
[140:27] what? Ultimately, who gives a As
[140:29] long as we keep getting great art about
[140:31] aliens. That's the most important thing.
[140:34] As long as visionary directors and
[140:36] creators like Steven Spielberg and
[140:37] Christopher Nolan uh and Lorden Miller
[140:40] and whoever else want to make alien
[140:42] stories. That's what really matters to
[140:44] me.
[140:46] >> I believe in aliens.
[140:47] >> Oh, damn. Abby, have you seen one?
[140:49] >> I was going to say laid it on me. Laid
[140:50] on me.
[140:51] >> I don't know. I I'm more of like a ghost
[140:53] person
[140:54] >> more than I am an alien person,
[140:57] >> which doesn't answer the question, but I
[140:59] feel like there's like
[141:01] >> there's connections.
[141:02] >> Yeah, I like that. You've got to be an
[141:04] alien or a or a ghost person. We've got
[141:07] an update from Eric. Steven Spielberg
[141:08] sits down on stage with Disclosure Day
[141:11] actor Coleman Domingo to discuss
[141:13] Disclosure Day, Spielberg's 35th
[141:15] feature.
[141:16] >> That is wild. So many movies down.
[141:21] Yeah. Like in a chair or do you think
[141:22] they're just on the stage?
[141:23] >> No, I I just
[141:24] >> He's on Coleman Domingo's lap.
[141:26] >> Does he just get like a full 30 minute
[141:28] Q&A for the rest of like to me sitting
[141:31] down means like a longer segment.
[141:33] >> Yes. Or is it just you know what Steven
[141:35] Spielberg is of a certain age.
[141:37] >> He might not be able to stand for a long
[141:38] period. I don't know. I think he's fit.
[141:40] But uh if this was on the set of a
[141:42] Christopher Nolan movie, there would be
[141:43] no place for him to sit.
[141:44] >> Nowhere to sit
[141:46] >> because he doesn't allow chairs on his
[141:47] set. Um, uh,
[141:50] >> you should.
[141:51] >> Yeah. I threw in the chat, are you are
[141:53] you a ghost or an alien?
[141:54] >> Ghost alien. You have to pick one hole
[141:56] going.
[141:56] >> It's kind of like Pat Oswald talks about
[141:58] you're either a a is it zombie or
[142:03] >> vampire are the two that like do you
[142:05] want chaos or or whatever? I forget the
[142:08] I'm butchering it even though I read
[142:10] that book a long time ago. Oh, we've got
[142:11] another update.
[142:13] >> Okay, we got a poll going.
[142:16] >> Okay. Uh, Spielberg recalls how he used
[142:18] to be in the exhibition business as a
[142:20] kid in Arizona by renting movies and
[142:23] playing them in his family living room,
[142:25] charging kids in the neighborhood 10
[142:27] cents as it's legal to do so if those
[142:30] proceeds go to charity. But he says he
[142:32] would turn a profit by charging 12 cents
[142:35] for popcorn.
[142:36] >> I mean, it's in his blood
[142:39] >> to be a movie theater man. And again, a
[142:41] lot of this kind of stuff is in the
[142:42] Fablemans, which is a great movie. Uh
[142:44] it's kind of about his childhood and him
[142:46] falling in love with movies.
[142:47] >> Also still pretty much the case how
[142:48] movie theaters make most of their money
[142:50] as concessions. You buy popcorn that
[142:51] costs that theater like a a nickel. You
[142:54] know, you pay five bucks to get the big
[142:55] bucket or whatever. Like you know,
[142:57] they're they're they're raking it up.
[142:58] >> It's also there's so many filmmakers
[143:00] whose kind of origin story begins with
[143:02] working at a movie theater, working at a
[143:04] video store, something like that. Um Sam
[143:07] Ramy and his brothers had a very similar
[143:09] experience where I think they would like
[143:11] run movies at like a Michigan college
[143:14] and like they would they would play
[143:16] their own films and like every week they
[143:18] would go like re-edit it to make it to
[143:20] make the audience respond better and
[143:22] that's how like Sam Ramy developed his
[143:24] taste in film and his style. Uh
[143:26] obviously famous people like Quint
[143:28] Tertino, Kevin Smith worked in video
[143:30] stores like there's a lot of stories
[143:32] like that. Uh a lot of people have
[143:33] worked at movie theaters. Uh, we got
[143:35] more super chats coming in. Thank you,
[143:37] Brian. Uh, Vibe Woodchuck, no Shrek 5
[143:39] news. They disrespect my Lord and
[143:42] Savior. Yeah, Abby, how are you feeling?
[143:44] >> I think this is messed up. Also, I guess
[143:48] they they'll have another Cinema Con,
[143:50] but if they want those people in the
[143:53] room to get excited about people coming
[143:56] to the theaters, people are already
[143:58] seated. What if what if just as like
[144:00] Spielberg leaves the stage, the lights
[144:02] are kind of coming up, people are
[144:03] starting to gather their belongings, and
[144:05] then over the speakers it hits, somebody
[144:08] wants,
[144:10] >> whoa, the roof gets
[144:11] >> or like or um maybe like Well, we know
[144:15] yesterday they had wires like maybe the
[144:18] dragon comes in.
[144:19] >> Yes.
[144:20] >> Or like I'm trying to think who would go
[144:22] down the aisle.
[144:23] >> Maybe they get uh Lord Farquad comes
[144:26] out. You know what I mean? live action
[144:28] Lord Farquad. Um, that'd be sick as
[144:30] hell.
[144:30] >> Okay, aliens have won the poll. We have
[144:32] another super chat coming in.
[144:35] >> Uh, Joseph Bartholomew 6253. Aliens and
[144:37] Ghosts are cool, but I want to see a
[144:39] movie about a shared universe of all the
[144:40] cryptids. Bigfoot, Moth Man, Jersey
[144:42] Devil, Shocked, Chupacabra didn't get in
[144:44] there. Give me the Alpine Tatselworm.
[144:46] Give me Mckllenbe. Give me Kraken. Give
[144:48] me all of them.
[144:49] Jackaloupe.
[144:51] >> Jackalope. Jackaloupe in there. Get
[144:52] jackaloupe in there.
[144:53] >> Hell yeah. I'm surpris I mean, that must
[144:55] have been pitched. That movie's been
[144:57] pitched in the public domain, right?
[145:00] >> I I specifically worked on multiple
[145:02] treatment. I can't remember the name of
[145:03] the studio. It's like Blue Mountain
[145:05] something. They did TED. I worked on
[145:07] multiple treatments of Bigfoot movies
[145:09] for them over the course of like a year
[145:11] on spec and they wouldn't make any of
[145:14] them.
[145:15] >> I got to say, as we're kind of coming
[145:17] near the end of this, I I got two
[145:19] bureaus down, not chugged. I had to take
[145:21] my time on them. We are we're about
[145:24] 40ish bucks away from another threshold.
[145:28] If we hit that, I will consume a third
[145:29] bureau on stream. And just a reminder,
[145:32] um, tomorrow during the Disney stream,
[145:34] we are anticipating that being one of
[145:35] the biggest, if not the biggest, where
[145:37] you're guaranteed to get Doomsday news
[145:39] in addition to maybe some Secret Wars,
[145:40] definitely Mandalorian and Grou, Starf
[145:42] Fighter, Disney live action, Frozen 3,
[145:45] all kinds of Moana live action, all
[145:47] kinds of stuff is going to be tomorrow.
[145:48] We'll also recap the Paramount panel and
[145:51] the MGM panel that are going to take
[145:52] place between now and then. Um, I'm
[145:54] going to consume a whole hell of a lot
[145:56] of bureaus. I'm going to shout out
[145:58] whoever our leading super chatters are.
[146:00] As I consume those, I will drink in
[146:02] their honor. Uh, a tribute chug if it
[146:04] were. Um, but uh, thank you everybody
[146:07] that has sent in super chats and just
[146:09] been active in the chat in general.
[146:10] >> Yes, thank you so much. Uh, thank you
[146:12] for being here with us. Uh, we have
[146:13] another super chat. Uh, speak of the
[146:15] devil, Carson Robinson, 3CQ. Uh uh uh
[146:19] numb to society. Wait, hang on. Oh no,
[146:21] it's Hannah Basso sending in some kind
[146:23] of dancing pair.
[146:24] >> Like a dancing grimace. Like a party
[146:26] grimace or something.
[146:27] >> Okay, party pair. That's great.
[146:28] >> Party pair.
[146:29] >> Appreciate you Hannah Basso.
[146:31] >> Um thank you so much Hannah Basso for
[146:32] that. Another Hannah Basso super chat.
[146:34] What movie do you want Spielberg to do
[146:37] one day? I I want him to do another
[146:41] Jurassic Park and show everyone how it's
[146:43] done. You know what I mean? like the the
[146:46] first I can't get my daughter to watch
[146:48] the first Jurassic Park movie cuz she
[146:51] watched one of the Chris Pratt ones that
[146:53] was bad and now she's like those movies
[146:55] suck and like you know when people talk
[146:58] about this movie ruins my childhood I'm
[147:00] like shut up go back and watch the movie
[147:01] you like to watch
[147:03] >> but what it has done is poisoned me from
[147:06] sharing something from my childhood with
[147:08] my daughter because the new ones aren't
[147:10] very good and that's really a bummer so
[147:13] I would love to see Spielberg come back
[147:15] to um if not Jurassic Park, give me
[147:19] another Kiteon adaptation, you know,
[147:21] like
[147:22] >> come back for a Indiana Jones movie
[147:25] that's kind of the same as the Jurassic
[147:27] and then like maybe I don't want to see
[147:29] any more of those and and
[147:30] >> maybe that franchise is is better left.
[147:32] >> You just got to move on or whatever.
[147:34] Like yeah, that's I would love to see
[147:35] him do a western. That would be really
[147:37] fun.
[147:37] >> We got another super chat in here coming
[147:39] from Wiggy Stardust $2. I'm currently
[147:42] writing a Chupacabra's horror movie.
[147:44] Yes. Wiggy startup.
[147:46] >> Like right now currently like you're
[147:47] typing that as you type this. That's
[147:49] wild.
[147:49] >> Chupacabras for those who those of you
[147:51] who don't know. Um goat suckers.
[147:53] >> Goat suckers. Yeah. Legendary cryptids
[147:55] that apparently suck goats dry. Rumored
[147:58] to have the same glowing red eyes as Mo
[148:00] Man. Known of course from the 1967
[148:02] bridge collapse in Point Pleasant, West
[148:03] Virginia. Uh and rumored to be
[148:06] associated with UFO sightings. The
[148:08] Chupacabas. They're they're most mostly
[148:10] a crypted of the Texas and Southwest
[148:13] regions.
[148:14] >> Yeah. Do you think that's like some guy
[148:16] was out there sucking a goat dry and
[148:18] they're like, "Gary, how'd that goat get
[148:20] sucked dry?"
[148:22] >> Chupacabra did it.
[148:24] >> Yeah.
[148:25] >> He had one of those little things you
[148:26] pierce into an orange, you know?
[148:28] >> Yeah.
[148:30] >> Uh, do you have a pubis you could share
[148:32] of the chupacabra?
[148:33] >> Yeah. Let me look up. If I Google
[148:34] chupacabra pubis, I think I'm going to
[148:36] get something we cannot show on air
[148:38] without getting demonetized. Um,
[148:41] >> how do we know we're not looking at a
[148:42] chupacabra pubis right now? You know
[148:45] what I mean? We don't know.
[148:46] >> They're hard to track down. They're hard
[148:47] to track down.
[148:48] >> Um,
[148:51] okay. Yeah. Do we assume nobody's
[148:53] following Spielberg, right?
[148:55] >> I have to assume Spiel Who follows
[148:57] Spielberg?
[148:58] >> Nobody wants to.
[148:59] >> No one.
[148:59] >> You think Lee Cronin gets up there and
[149:01] is like,
[149:02] >> I don't give a I'll talk about my
[149:04] movie now.
[149:05] >> Is are is he still talking to
[149:07] >> to Coleman Domingo?
[149:09] >> Yeah.
[149:10] >> Um I think now Coleman Domingo is
[149:12] talking about his favorite uh backstage
[149:13] on Broadway stories and they're
[149:15] fascinating but that's not what
[149:16] everyone's there to see.
[149:17] >> Big year for Coleman Domingo too. He's
[149:19] in uh Disclosure Day and he's going to
[149:21] be in Michael the Michael Jackson
[149:22] biopic. He's playing Joe Jackson, the
[149:25] father of the family.
[149:26] >> I think he's such a phenomenal actor. I
[149:28] there's an episode of Euphoria that is
[149:30] literally just him and Zenia in a diner.
[149:33] It was like one of the ones they shot
[149:34] during co, right? Um and it is it's just
[149:39] s he is such a masterclass in acting in
[149:43] that episode. It's absolutely
[149:44] phenomenal. I think I think you could
[149:46] watch it stand alone even if you haven't
[149:48] seen the rest of Euphoria. It's really
[149:51] really phenomenal. I mean, Zadea is also
[149:54] phenomenal, but uh he he really
[149:57] blew me away with uh with that episode.
[149:59] >> And if you like Euphoria,
[150:02] check out the channel on Saturday.
[150:04] >> Tune in Saturday on the New Rock.
[150:06] >> We're going to be releasing Euphoria uh
[150:08] breakdowns every week, courtesy of Abby
[150:10] Fel, resident Euphoria expert. Uh we've
[150:13] got a new tweet popping up any second
[150:15] now Abby.
[150:15] >> Okay, here we go. I can read this one.
[150:16] Uh Steven Spielberg discusses the
[150:19] history of UFOs, now known as UP UAPs.
[150:24] Uh how a pilot in 1947 named Kenneth
[150:27] Arnold spotted a saucer flying past his
[150:29] plane. And in the same year, mysterious
[150:32] debris was discovered in Roswell, New
[150:35] Mexico. According to Spielberg, most
[150:37] Hollywood films in the decade since
[150:38] depicted alien encounters without
[150:40] actually believing aliens were out
[150:42] there. In recent years, smartphones and
[150:45] intelligence disclosures of infrared
[150:47] scans from a Navy pilot reignited his
[150:50] interest and belief in UAPs. To
[150:52] Spielberg, this is not fiction or his
[150:55] imaginative fears. He truly believes we
[150:57] are not alone in this world. This true
[150:59] belief is what Disclosure Day is about.
[151:02] There's more truth than fiction in this
[151:04] film.
[151:05] >> Oho.
[151:07] >> Is that is that like the truth is that
[151:09] uh Emily Blunt is actually a
[151:11] meteorologist?
[151:13] That'd be amaz Spielberg caught me. I
[151:16] was I was doing weather updates for
[151:18] KEXP.
[151:19] >> Well, I know that was the theory that he
[151:21] was like making this cuz he was one of
[151:23] the people who has the privilege of
[151:25] knowing
[151:26] >> he's been given access to the super
[151:28] secret government files and that like he
[151:30] is going to make a certain kind of
[151:31] disclosure in this film.
[151:33] >> Another tweet coming in.
[151:40] >> Okay. Steven Spielberg teases that with
[151:42] Disclosure Day, he worked closely with
[151:44] the Universal marketing team to make
[151:46] sure that nothing from the film's third
[151:48] act would be shown in trailers. Coleman
[151:51] Domingo, who has seen it, claimed that
[151:53] this part of the movie had him jumping
[151:56] out of his seat.
[151:57] >> It would be an amazing flub if Coleman
[151:59] Domingo followed up going like, "Oh
[152:01] yeah, the stuff in the third act with
[152:02] the with the turkey." And everyone's
[152:04] like "No
[152:05] >> not the turkey.
[152:06] >> There's a turkey in the third act.
[152:07] Film's ruined." Spoilers. Spoilers for
[152:10] Daredevil Born Again season 2 episode
[152:13] five. There's a turkey.
[152:15] >> Kudos to Spielberg for working directly
[152:18] with the marketing team for being like,
[152:20] "Don't reveal this." You know, like I
[152:22] there are so many movies. I mean,
[152:23] Terminator 2 being the main one where
[152:25] it's like the main twist of the movie is
[152:27] that he's a good guy. It was all over
[152:29] the trailers. Uh we got a super chat
[152:31] coming in. Um uh the master 22 dude 39
[152:35] $3 super chat. I hope Cars 4 is
[152:37] announced tomorrow.
[152:39] >> Um, yeah, it's been a minute since we
[152:41] got a Cars movie.
[152:42] >> That's That's what you're hoping for.
[152:44] >> Yeah,
[152:44] >> the Master.
[152:45] >> I think there No, never mind. There is
[152:47] only three cars. I thought I was
[152:49] >> But like of all the Disney projects that
[152:51] could come out.
[152:52] >> Wow.
[152:52] >> You're really hoping for the top of the
[152:55] list.
[152:55] >> Zach coming out as a cars hater.
[152:59] >> Yeah. Yeah. Cars sucks. The first one's
[153:01] fun. All the ones since then suck. I And
[153:04] I've I've been to Cars Land. I've rigid
[153:06] I've ridden uh Luigi's uh Spineroonies
[153:09] or whatever. Okay, it's a lame ass
[153:12] franchise.
[153:12] >> The the cars ride at Disneyland is
[153:15] great. It's super fun.
[153:16] >> The really fast one, Radiator Falls or
[153:18] whatever.
[153:18] >> A spinny one, too.
[153:19] >> Let it be a ride.
[153:20] >> Can we do a show where we show Zach a
[153:23] ride and you name what you think it is?
[153:26] >> Luigi spinonies.
[153:27] >> I mean,
[153:28] >> Radiator Falls.
[153:29] >> Yeah, right. Uh, we got another super
[153:31] chat coming in here from Loi Girl
[153:33] Enthusiast says, "I'm back. Have they
[153:35] talked about Forgotten Island yet? The
[153:37] trailer for it looked so good."
[153:38] >> Well,
[153:39] >> they saw it.
[153:40] >> So, they showed the movie in its
[153:41] entirety earlier today and people who
[153:44] wanted to go could go and watch it. So,
[153:46] I don't think they're mentioning it as
[153:47] much in this uh panel because they kind
[153:50] of covered it in full earlier. Yeah.
[153:53] >> Uh, another super chat coming in. Uh,
[153:56] Matthew P9, I hope we get a Cars
[153:58] Liveaction remake tomorrow.
[154:01] >> Just Fast and Furious. What? What is
[154:04] that? Now, if Cars live action,
[154:07] >> do the Do the Are they Are there actors?
[154:11] Like, is it Owen Wilson, but he's
[154:14] wearing a car costume or is it just a
[154:16] normal car that can talk?
[154:18] >> I think it's like Lion King where it's
[154:21] realistic.
[154:22] >> Oh.
[154:23] Yeah, which is like photo for six
[154:26] engine. We got super chat coming in
[154:28] here. Uh Sarah Hatchadorian, long time
[154:31] no see. Uh $10 super chat. Thank you,
[154:33] Sarah. Uh this movie is going to answer
[154:35] questions but also cause you to ask a
[154:37] lot of questions. This movie is an
[154:39] experience and all you need to get from
[154:40] the beginning to the end is a seat belt
[154:42] because it's part of the Cars franchise.
[154:45] Stevens Fuel.
[154:46] >> Damn. Wait. Disclosure day is live
[154:48] action cars.
[154:48] >> Live action cars. That's what Sarah
[154:50] Hatchadorian is saying. That's what
[154:52] Sarah Hatchadorian says.
[154:53] >> Hey, I also got to say with that super
[154:56] chat, where are we at in our super chat
[154:59] to get that one off the screen, Brian,
[155:01] so I can read the freaking little chart
[155:02] at the bottom. I think we are
[155:06] Oh, we got $99
[155:10] away from me popping another beer out.
[155:12] Just saying. And we got maybe minutes,
[155:15] maybe seconds left in this panel. Okay,
[155:17] I can't make any promises about how much
[155:18] longer we're going to go. It's possible
[155:20] that they let Spielberg talk for a full
[155:23] hour.
[155:23] >> Yeah, that's right.
[155:24] >> Slowly people just get up and leave.
[155:26] Spielberg keeps talking.
[155:27] >> Yes. And if so, we'll be here for the
[155:29] whole thing.
[155:29] >> Oh, here you go.
[155:30] >> Uhoh. Christian unpronouncable. $10
[155:32] super chat saying shotgun.
[155:35] >> Okay, I'm going to I'm going to try a
[155:37] third varietal of bureau. Uh
[155:39] >> oh, and Sarah, too.
[155:41] >> Sarah Sarah Hatchador with another $10.
[155:43] You got you got some of our heaviest
[155:45] hitters and most reliable chatters and
[155:47] friends.
[155:48] >> Okay. Except for Sarah, who I'm beefing
[155:50] with.
[155:50] >> I've I've previously had a a Pzner and a
[155:52] Hazy IPA. I'll be drinking a wheat
[155:54] bureau. Again, thank you to Tom Holland
[155:57] for personally canning all these
[155:59] bureaus.
[155:59] >> Shotgun it. Shot on it.
[156:02] >> Oops.
[156:03] >> They're paying for shotguns.
[156:04] >> Paying for shotguns.
[156:06] >> This is my version of a shotgun. I
[156:09] >> Give me one. Give me one.
[156:10] >> Okay. Oh,
[156:12] >> give me one. Let
[156:13] >> people The people paid good money. We
[156:15] got a name to uphold here. And unless
[156:18] people want to pay $180
[156:20] right now.
[156:21] >> Okay. So, what? How is this still cold?
[156:23] Okay. This is the noon week.
[156:25] >> It's the magic of bureaus.
[156:27] >> Okay. Here we go. You stand here. Wait.
[156:29] Should we?
[156:29] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Here.
[156:35] >> Okay. Here we go. I'm going to open it a
[156:37] little wider than I did last time.
[156:41] >> Okay. Here we go.
[156:43] >> What's that? Was that me?
[156:44] >> It splashed on me.
[156:45] >> Oh, sorry. Okay, here we go. Hang on.
[156:50] >> Go, go, go, go, go, go. Cars, cars,
[156:53] cars, cars, cars, cars, cars, cars. I
[156:57] want you to say kachchow.
[156:58] >> Kachchow.
[156:59] >> Wow, that was fast.
[157:01] >> Whoa. You already
[157:04] >> That's a
[157:05] >> bird. That's a That's a grown ass man
[157:08] chug right there.
[157:09] >> That's a liberal arts education there,
[157:11] folks.
[157:11] >> That's just like That's just sad cuz
[157:13] you're not even going to be drunk after
[157:14] all that work. I don't want to be drunk.
[157:16] I have an improv rehearsal until
[157:18] >> that's not the goal. Okay. That's pretty
[157:20] messed up that you would even think
[157:21] that.
[157:22] >> I just was like that was like a lot of
[157:23] work for shotgunning and you're just
[157:26] >> It's about the journey, not the
[157:28] destination.
[157:28] >> I say it's a pretty decent tasting
[157:30] non-alcoholic beer. I I I that's like
[157:32] just a genuinely tasty beer. I wish I
[157:34] had sipped it.
[157:36] >> These are tasty.
[157:37] >> Um Oh my god. Okay.
[157:42] Sarah Hatchidorian $10 super chat saying
[157:44] pop the bureau
[157:46] >> blessings.
[157:47] >> Oh my god.
[157:48] >> Oh, blessings. Um, we're also getting uh
[157:50] Geek Ledger coming back. Uh, Spielberg
[157:52] should adapt Kiteon's dragon teeth.
[157:56] >> It's a very Indiana Jones-like book
[157:58] about a young paleontologist set during
[158:00] the 1876
[158:02] Bone Wars.
[158:03] >> Turns serial.
[158:04] >> Um, Bone Wars uh sounds like a a picture
[158:07] Berg was showing us earlier from his
[158:09] dinosaur book. Uh, Bone Wars is probably
[158:11] about uh, Martian Cope, the famous
[158:13] paleontologists who were waring largely
[158:15] over sorapod skeletons in the American
[158:17] West in the late 19th century. Both made
[158:20] a lot of contributions to the field of
[158:22] paleontology, but ultimately also
[158:23] mislabeled quite a few skeletons in
[158:25] their rush to name new species. So,
[158:26] >> is that where we get like brontosaurus
[158:28] is not a real thing?
[158:29] >> I think brontosaurus is a real thing
[158:30] now, but it's like there was
[158:31] brontosaurus and apatosaurus and
[158:33] diplodocus were all like mixed up and
[158:35] like a lot of the skeletons were hastily
[158:37] assembled. A lot of sorapod fossils that
[158:39] people thought were major sorapods
[158:41] turned out to be fossilized tree limbs
[158:42] with like like bug holes in them and
[158:45] stuff like um
[158:48] Okay. My god. Uh
[158:51] >> looks like the panel has wrapped.
[158:53] >> Okay.
[158:53] >> Okay.
[158:54] >> Oh, we got a super chat here. Uh uh
[158:57] Sarah Hatchorian $10 saying pop the
[158:59] bureau. Sarah, way ahead of you. Way
[159:02] ahead of you. But thank you so much for
[159:03] forcing me to
[159:04] >> Christian unpronouncable. Get over the
[159:06] beef and pork already. Uh, I like your I
[159:09] like the the meat illusions. Is that
[159:11] you're saying Berg and S has Sidorian
[159:14] should squash their beef and have sex?
[159:17] Is that what you're saying? Or you're
[159:19] just listing different
[159:20] >> spoken for. I'm spoken for.
[159:22] >> I think Sarah's also spoken for.
[159:24] >> Yeah. Yeah. Nobody needs that. Also, I
[159:26] don't know how we do that via super
[159:28] chat, but um who knows who knows what'll
[159:31] happen tomorrow at the Disney panel live
[159:33] stream. Everybody, we're going to be
[159:35] back in a little less than 24 hours.
[159:37] When is uh tomorrow's live stream is
[159:40] going to commence?
[159:41] >> At 2
[159:41] >> at actually 2:30 p.m.
[159:45] >> Sorry.
[159:45] >> No, no, you're right. Sorry. You were
[159:46] right. First 2:00 p.m. Pacific. Uh 5:00
[159:50] p.m. East Coast. If you're in uh the US,
[159:53] uh we will begin our stream. The Disney
[159:55] panel will begin a little bit after
[159:56] that. And we will be covering everything
[159:58] they talk about. We have been guaranteed
[160:01] from Disney that there will be some
[160:03] revelations, some footage, some
[160:05] trailers, something from Avengers
[160:07] Doomsday, which we are waiting for with
[160:09] baited breath. We're also anticipating
[160:11] Mandali Grou, maybe some Star Wars starf
[160:13] fighter, obviously lots of Pixar, Disney
[160:15] animation, uh, Fox Studios, uh, there's
[160:19] going to be a lot of good stuff and we
[160:21] will be recapping not only the week of
[160:23] other panels, but specifically MGM
[160:25] Amazon later tonight and Paramount
[160:27] earlier tomorrow. Maybe there's some
[160:29] Ninja Turtle news. Maybe there's some
[160:31] G.I. Joe news, some Transformer news.
[160:33] Who knows what we might be able uh to
[160:35] get into. We've got a uh we want to
[160:37] shout out Geek Ledger, who became a
[160:39] YouTube channel member. Blessings to
[160:41] you.
[160:41] >> Thank you so much, Geek Ledger.
[160:43] >> And then the 94th Duke, who you know, I
[160:46] already love you, 94th Duke, because
[160:48] you've got Paul Trades as your avatar,
[160:51] Lisa Gaib. Uh Dune 3 will be better than
[160:54] Doomsday for sure. I think Denuv is
[160:58] combining Dune Messiah and Children of
[161:00] Dune into one film. I like I like your
[161:03] agenda here, The 94th Duke. Uh I like
[161:07] neither one of those films are getting
[161:08] discussed on this panel, but you're
[161:11] bringing that energy.
[161:13] >> Yeah. Tomorrow there will be some Dooms
[161:14] If there's not Doomsday news tomorrow,
[161:17] our heads will explode.
[161:18] >> That's right.
[161:19] >> We haven't seen a trailer yet. Uh we
[161:22] really want to see a trailer. If if we
[161:24] don't get Doomsday News tomorrow, we'll
[161:25] be drinking these bureaus out of sorrow
[161:27] instead of joy, which is what we were
[161:29] drinking them uh out of today. Um, thank
[161:32] you again to everybody that participated
[161:33] in the super chat. Thank you everybody
[161:35] that stuck around. Yes, tomorrow is
[161:37] going to be the big culmination of this
[161:39] whole week of Cineacon coverage. Keep an
[161:42] eye out uh on the New Rockstars channel
[161:44] for Eric will be squeezing out these
[161:47] videos he's been putting out. Again, we
[161:48] have the Spiderverse video that's
[161:50] already out on the channel. He'll
[161:51] probably do another video either
[161:53] recapping the Clayface footage that was
[161:55] shown yesterday, maybe um some of the
[161:57] Odyssey footage that was shown today.
[162:00] He's going to pick whatever topic he
[162:01] thinks will be juicy. That will probably
[162:04] come out tomorrow afternoon. Uh in
[162:06] addition to probably later this week,
[162:08] he'll do a full recap of his experiences
[162:09] at Cineacon.
[162:10] >> We also have coming out tomorrow on the
[162:11] channel Jess's breakdown of The Boys
[162:14] episode 3. So we're still covering that.
[162:16] I believe this morning Jess's breakdown
[162:18] of Invincible
[162:20] >> season finale. Brian, how far are we at
[162:22] the finale yet?
[162:23] >> For is it Invincible?
[162:24] >> For invincible?
[162:25] >> Not yet. Next week.
[162:26] >> Next week is the Invincible finale. So,
[162:28] >> this episode was
[162:29] >> It was crazy. I'm actually so sad that I
[162:31] couldn't cover it on the break room this
[162:32] week, but uh next week. Next week.
[162:34] >> Um Brian has alerted me that I might
[162:37] have said fake news.
[162:39] >> Whoa.
[162:40] >> That the panel is done.
[162:42] >> Oh, the panel continues.
[162:43] >> Well, I don't know.
[162:45] >> Where did you get that? The panel is
[162:46] done.
[162:47] >> Trust the chat.
[162:48] >> Oh, you can't trust the chat. He's over
[162:50] here.
[162:50] >> They were telling us about a Constantine
[162:52] movie yesterday.
[162:53] >> Well, also Jason Bloom just or Blum Blum
[162:58] tweeted my Freddy's army still alive
[163:00] question mark.
[163:02] >> Oh, do you think is that him subweeting
[163:04] Universal about not talking about Five
[163:06] Nights at Freddy's? Or do you think
[163:07] that's they're about to talk about Five
[163:08] Nights at Freddy's?
[163:09] >> I think that was more like get ready
[163:10] Freddy's Freddy's army. Are you still
[163:12] out there?
[163:12] >> Okay. Also discussing film reporting
[163:14] that over five minutes over five minutes
[163:17] of footage from Stephen Spielberg's
[163:19] Disclosure Day was just shown at
[163:21] Cineacon. Um, including a first look at
[163:24] the alien.
[163:25] >> Oh,
[163:25] >> we have not seen any images of the alien
[163:27] in any of the previous trailers. Uh,
[163:29] again, anything that was shown, Eric
[163:30] will be transcribing that in his uh
[163:33] ineimitable way and we will be able to
[163:35] convey what he has seen.
[163:39] >> It might be done. I don't know if the
[163:40] mics are picking up the sounds I am
[163:43] making.
[163:43] >> I hope they're not. AB
[163:44] >> Abby unfortunately is and I apologize
[163:48] both as a coworker and a human that you
[163:50] have to listen to this
[163:51] >> uh in the chat uh for Berg uh
[163:55] Burplessberg.
[163:56] >> Bless
[163:58] Yeah. Justice for my upper gastric
[164:00] system. Um
[164:03] >> h
[164:05] I guess we haven't got like an like Eric
[164:08] like and we're done.
[164:09] >> Yeah, we haven't heard a confirmation
[164:11] that it's over.
[164:12] >> So sorry for literally having you plug
[164:14] the end of the stream.
[164:15] >> We do have an update, Abby uh from Eric.
[164:19] Uh a new trailer uh for Stephen
[164:21] Spielberg's Disclosure Day shown at
[164:24] Cinema Con finally answers some
[164:26] questions about the bigger mysteries of
[164:28] this sci-fi film. Josh O Connor plays
[164:32] Daniel Kelner, a cryptocurity expert
[164:35] turned whistleblower who leaks
[164:37] government secrets about
[164:38] extraterrestrial life recovered on Earth
[164:40] since 1947,
[164:42] likely tying in with the Roswell
[164:44] incident. Emily Blunt plays Margaret
[164:47] Fairchild, a movie name if I've ever
[164:49] heard it. uh a Kansas meteorologist who
[164:52] has an on-air episode uh speaking in a
[164:55] series of alien clicks that Daniel can
[164:57] understand as a series of math
[164:59] equations. The treasure the trailer
[165:02] implies that the two of them had some
[165:04] forgotten history as children and were
[165:07] either connected by aliens or are
[165:09] themselves aliens in human form. These
[165:12] aren't confirmed answers, just my
[165:13] interpretation of what I saw. We see
[165:15] alien fingers wrap around these kids'
[165:18] faces from behind as they lay on glowing
[165:21] gurnies and hold hands. We see a POV of
[165:24] a pilot cockpit as his jet crosses
[165:27] crosses some threshold of a spectrum of
[165:30] light. The money shot of the trailer is
[165:33] that deer we've seen in the public
[165:34] trailers leaning down over the girl in
[165:36] bed when the camera swoops over the
[165:39] deer's fur to its other eye as the black
[165:42] eye now has glowing technology in it.
[165:45] And we realize it's the eye of an
[165:47] extraterrestrial staring down at young
[165:50] Emily Blunt. You can see much of the
[165:53] alien, but I'll say that it kind of does
[165:56] look like the aliens in Close
[165:57] Encounters. Anyone predicting that this
[166:00] movie could be a sequel to Close
[166:01] Encounters, a movie that Spielberg noted
[166:04] will celebrate its 50th anniversary next
[166:06] year, might not be too far off.
[166:09] >> What a great excuse to go back and
[166:11] rewatch Close Encounters.
[166:13] >> Yeah. Wow.
[166:15] >> Uh, okay. So, we've gotten confirmation
[166:17] from Eric via Slack that the panel is
[166:20] over. No Shrek five. Abby, will you be
[166:25] okay?
[166:26] >> No.
[166:27] >> No. No. Shrek 5, no How to Train Your
[166:30] Dragon 2, no Exorcist, no Murder She
[166:32] Wrote, no Daniels film. I mean, you know
[166:34] what? Universal has a lot in going on in
[166:37] 2026, so they didn't really need to talk
[166:40] 2027 stuff. That's okay. You know,
[166:42] that's great. Uh we're eating good. Uh
[166:46] though, um you know what, maybe um a
[166:48] little antilimactic though. Not that
[166:50] Disclosure Day is not going to be
[166:52] killer, but you know,
[166:53] >> they started with Odyssey, you know,
[166:55] like they they started big. You know,
[166:56] you got primacy verse recency. Do you
[166:58] want to make a good first impression or
[166:59] do you want to like leave off on a good
[167:01] taste? And I think they did pretty well
[167:03] on both counts.
[167:04] >> Primacy. Primacy verse recency. Was that
[167:06] the sequel to X First ever?
[167:08] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's
[167:10] a whoever win, they lose kind of a
[167:11] thing.
[167:12] >> Reququum. Uh, okay. Well, I think on
[167:15] that note, uh, let's wrap it up,
[167:18] everybody.
[167:19] >> Great. Let's do the outro. That's it for
[167:21] us today. Uh, make sure to like this
[167:23] video and subscribe to New Rockstars on
[167:25] YouTube. We'll be back tomorrow at 2
[167:28] p.m. covering the Disney panel. We
[167:30] expect to get a lot of Marvel news
[167:31] there. Um, if you want to support us
[167:33] directly, consider buying some merch
[167:34] from Nerd Riot.shop. Um, uh, if you're
[167:37] in the Los Angeles area and you're not
[167:39] doing anything Friday night, come see us
[167:41] do a live show, live reading of Morbius
[167:43] at UCB Theater at 7 p.m. Uh, we also
[167:46] have tickets available for live stream
[167:48] if you're not in the LA area. Um, uh,
[167:51] thanks so much for tuning in. We will
[167:52] see you all tomorrow at 2 PM for the
[167:54] Disney panel.
[167:55] >> 2 PM Pacific.
[167:56] >> Adios, y'all.
[167:58] >> Bye.
[168:20] Hey,
[168:36] hey,
[168:43] hey.
