with a confusing timeline that still has
fans theorizing about just what actually
happened which meant to make this video
I had to fully dive into the lore of the
series I had to make sense of it all not
just for me personally but for anyone
who wants to know just what the hell was
happening on this beach or why there's
three endings that are all
simultaneously cannoned but so very
opposite the goal of this video is to
give you the most in-depth detailed
explanation of what happened in even
gilion that is available this means
analyzing the TV series along with all
five films that make up this masterpiece
of a story that extends past the anime
and bleeds into the real world this will
be long but I promise you it'll be worth
it the amount of lessons I took away
from this show is unmeasurable and I
know that's what every even gelan fan
stereotypically says but there's truth
to it I wasn't one until a couple weeks
ago and now I can say this is a series
every anime fan should watch so whether
you've seen the show and want a deep
understanding of its events or are a
complete newbie and just want to skip
the [ __ ] and find out what this
Show's all about this video is for you
before getting into the story it's final
that you understand the scope of the
series there's technically three endings
but as I'll get into later they really
all make up one cohesive story watching
just one doesn't give you the full
picture the first ending is in the 26th
episode run of even gelion and it's
considered the most ambiguous of the lot
the second comes in the end of even
gellan movie which was released a year
after the series ended and contains
events vital to the entirety of the show
you cannot skip this the final ending
comes in the rebuild movie series and to
clear any confusion no it's not a reboot
it's a series of four movies that in the
beginning very lightly follow the events
of the original anime before entirely
steering off course it has drastically
different plot points mood and focus
these movies are a sequel to the
original they are by no means a
replacement remember that now that all
that's cleared up let's start at the
beginning not of the series now but
where the story really
begins in the beginning there was the
first ancestrial race or far a group of
intelligent life that inhabited an
unknown World in our galaxy at some
point the species faced certain
Extinction and in an attempt to preserve
life in the universe sent out moons
containing seeds of life that would
hopefully find new worlds to inhabit
each Moon also contained a spear that
function was to safeguard the far's
plans to spread life it's assume they
sent out a vast amount of moons one of
these landing on Earth the white moon
this Moon contained a seat of life known
as Adam the fruit of life now Adam was
supposed to populate the Earth with life
but before he could another far Moon the
black moon smashed into Earth launching
thousands of pieces of debris into space
creating the moon we see in the sky this
event resulted in great changes in the
Earth's surface and would later be given
the title the first impact but this was
never supposed to happen Two Moons were
never intended to inhabit One Planet it
was only by freak accident that the
black moon would crash into Earth two
life forms being created on the same
Planet could results in the extinction
of one through unnecessary violence
which is counterproductive the far's
goal of preserving life and this is
exactly what the spears are for despite
Adam's Moon being the first to land the
black moon containing Lilith the fruit
of knowledge was given priority on Earth
most likely due to Lila spear being
destroyed during the first impact Adam's
spear linous would lock his ability to
spread life thus Earth became Lil's
domain and human life was seated
billions of years pass as Humanity
developed as such does their lust for
knowledge eventually a religious
organization known as seal whose sole
goal is to fill the prophecy that lies
in the Dead Sea Scrolls discovers the
black moon in Lilith along with it
underneath hakone Japan they build an
underground facility around this Moon
and launch a research division Nam gon
to study it not too long after a
discovery in Antarctica uncovers the
white moon containing Adam in 2000 seal
funds a team of scientists to study the
beam led by a man named katsuragi misato
father after Excavating Adam the team
attempts a contact experiment where they
would merge human DNA with Adam not
quite the best idea as you would imagine
prior to the experiment the team removed
Adam's Spear and upon attempting the DNA
merge reawakened it creating catalyic
results Adam activated an anti-at field
which is basically an EMP that affects
humans all life forms have an invisible
barrier around them that is their ego
and if touched by this anti-at field
their soul will be freed from their body
seemingly ending their life as as a
human so if this thing goes Supernova
and engulfs the entire planet all life
will cease to exist simultaneously Adam
opens the doors of Guff which allows
unborn souls to be brought into life
this was all rather short-lived as the
scientists attempted to stop this Global
Extinction using the Spear of leness
impaling Adam stopped his Field's
expansion and closed the passage of Guff
but the reset resulted in a massive
explosion of Adam's energy manifesting
four giant wings of light into the sky
the entire continent of Antarctica
perish the scientist along with it but
not before katsuragi saves his daughter
the massive explosion tips Earth's
access causing the polar caps to melt
and major weather changes to occur
killing billions fighting breaks out
worldwide as more and more die and after
a year of global war only half the
world's population Remain the UN becomes
a major world order as only a few nation
states still exist but during this
period of desperation seal works in the
shadows to secure power global by 2003
seal controls the UN and the major
Nations they used this influence to have
a research team from gon retriev two
pieces of Adam that were separated in
the second impact one was his body which
had regressed into an embryotic State
the other was Adam's Soul which took the
form of a boy that would eventually
become known as koru Nagisa the child
was transported to seal headquarters
where various studies and uses would be
made of him but the more prominent
aspect currently is the use of Adam's
Body which was used to create project e
the operation that led to the creation
of the even gelian soulless copies of
Adam gon is tasked by Seal to develop
project e along with Maggie's
supercomputers their other area of
expertise eventually Koo fuuki this old
guy you know would be invited to join
the org by gendo and yui shinji's
parents Koo was originally the teacher
of the two in college and is very
suspect of gendo and his involvement in
the second impact for context he left
the expedition one day before the event
as time passed gon made huge
advancements in both the even gallons
and Maggie supercomputers but the
success came with a cost UI attempted a
contact experiment with Eva 01 leading
to her body and soul being absorbed into
the be's core similarly over at Branch 3
in Germany Kyoko soyu asa's mom lost a
portion of her soul when she came into
contact with Eva 02 leading to her
losing her sanity and eventually
committing suicide scientist naoko AGI
completed the Maggie supercomputer
system 6 years after the incident with
UI being absorbed into Eva 01 at
completion she would be confronted by
Ray or to put it better Ray one gindo
had been experimenting in the lower
levels with Lilith to create a clone of
sorts of UI he used any genetic material
he could find of his late wife to create
the be binding The Vessel with the soul
of Lilith to bring her to life not too
much different from kodo's creation the
major difference between the two was
that Ray was very man-made and extremely
emotionally unstable and this led her to
taking advantage of akagi's feelings
towards gendo tormenting her with the
words he thinks of you as a hag the idea
of being called worthless by the man she
loved enraged her and refusing to accept
the cheap standin of his dead wife as a
human being she killed the little girl
realizing what she had just done akagi
commits suicide jumping off the balcony
onto her final creation upon discovering
the scene gendo gives Ray a second body
deemed Ray 2 the one we meet at the
beginning of the series series after the
suicide of aagi gedon was reconstructed
into nerve with his main focus the
furtherment of project e now the reason
for this is due to Adam's doors of Guff
being opened for a short amount of time
during the second impact Souls of beings
were able to creep out resulting in a
new form of life becoming the main
antagonist of the series The Angels just
as lth created humans Adam created
angels seal knew this day would
inevitably happen as is stated in the
Dead Sea Scrolls that seemingly outlay a
majority of the events to come it's
thought that this text comes from the
first ancestral race how it got to Earth
is a large mystery the seal organization
bases their entire mission on what the
Scrolls state it reads that the angels
are the true successors of Earth and
humanity is burdened by the original sin
that being they never should have
existed here we were a mistake only
brought to life due to a series of
circumstances unintentionally sentencing
Adam's life forms to non-existence
Seal's end game is to unite all Humanity
as one with Lilith and Adam so they can
become part of God what they see as the
next evolution of existence this goal is
deemed the human instrumentality Project
Seal believes the plan will only work
though if certain conditions are met the
defeat of all Angels being one similarly
gendo's goal is to activate human
instrumentality but his endgame is to
reunite with his wife also
unintentionally fulfilling her goal
which was to temporarily activate human
instrumentality so that people could
unite as one to understand each other
then revert back to individuality it's
obvious though that gendo's one care in
mind is reuniting with his wife he cares
nothing about his son or Humanity or
what it would take for him to reach this
goal he's not interested in what his
wife planned out he's just a Broken Man
afraid of human connection Desperately
Seeking the only person he grew close to
this results in Shinji being cast aside
growing up feeling unwanted by his
father he goes to live with the school
teacher after leaving home where his
father treated him as a waste of space
after his mother died showing him no
love or affection which would eventually
lead to shinji's massive issues with
intimacy and attachment something his
dad had closed himself off to as well a
few years pass as genda works with Le on
Eva 00 a prototype Eva imbued with a
piece of Ray Soul weeks before the first
Angel attacks Ray is injured during the
first attempts to Pilot Eva zero when it
leads to a going berserk it is assumed
that the piece of Soul inside 0000 is
Ray Juan the one that was strangled by
aagi it lashes out smashing the walls
confused afraid and possibly angry
reawaken to the pain prior to death in a
strange world and a strange body gendo
rescues Ray to from the pilot pod after
the Eva loses power but she is badly
injured knowing that the angels will
soon come as prophesized in the Scrolls
he knows they need a pilot but there are
conditions to be met an even gelan pilot
must be able to sink with the Eva to do
this they must have some connection with
the being more specifically the soul
that is imbued into it as to sync with
each other their souls must communicate
properly this means that the perfect
pilot for Eva 01 that holds ui's Soul
would be her son Shinji so gendo
contacts his son to come the nerve HQ
Days Later sasil appears the third Angel
firstborn of Adam he moves from the
shores of Tokyo 3 a metropolis built
around nerve headquarters he symbolizes
the price of playing God something nerve
and seal do as often as we drink water
the military stands no chance against
this monstrosity and command of this
operation is quickly handed over to
nerve which brings us to the first the
vents of Neon Genesis
Evangelion the Neon Genesis TV series is
very sporadic with its storytelling lots
of things are told out of order which is
why the section prior to this one is so
important in telling the entire story of
Evangelion to know the order of events
gives a better understanding of the
narrative so with that in mind the
events ahead will be placed in order of
occurrence not necessarily by first
appearance I divided the section of Neon
Genesis down marking the appearances of
angels major events as well as deep
looks at the main characters feel free
to use the chapter markers as a guide
through this deep
analysis Shinji wanders tokyo3 as he
waits to meet misato his Handler this is
during the offensive against Cil the
third Angel fortunately for him she
arrives just in time to prevent him from
being turned into a pancake the UN
attempts one final ditch of effort
before Nerf takes full control and drops
the equivalent of a nuclear bomb on the
third Angel this is an unsuccessful
attack and proves that the only hope for
Humanity's survival is in the even
gallion and equally in their pilots when
Shinji gets to the nerve base he is
immediately thrusted into the job of
being a pilot initially he refuses as he
hasn't seen one of these before now and
barely got through half the manual given
to him on the elevator Shinji asks his
father who stands looming over the
platform why he called for him most
likely hoping that his father would show
some kind of acknowledgement to his son
gendo simply states he had a use for him
but if he refuses the pilot then he
should just leave immediately not being
the words he had hoped to hear Shinji
looks down at his feet wallowing the
base Shakes as the angel has located
their position from above and Rubble
falls from the ceilings as it makes an
attempt to infiltrate the underground
nerve base Eva 01 reaches out in an act
to protect Shinji from the debris our
first hint that there is a strange
connection that lies between the two he
finally agrees to Pilot it partially out
of desperation to be acknowledged as
meaningful partially because of the
safety he now feels with the Mech but
also because he sees a badly injured Ray
in front of him who will pilot it in his
dead if he refuses knowing that if he
walks away this girl would potentially
die already suffering from major
injuries it seems the only path forward
for him is to
comply being his first time in an Eva it
would be no surprise if a pilot with
zero experience would get their ass
whooped by a promodal beast and this is
exactly what happens Shinji gets stomped
on tossed around like a doll and speared
straight into the skull causing
agonizing pain through shinji's own head
the reason being the potty sits in is
full of LCL fluid LCL comes from Lilith
Humanity's Creator and is the same stuff
humans are made up of although Shinji
doesn't know that this fluid takes place
of oxygen and allows the pilots to
become in deeper sync with the Evas
assisting in merging part of their souls
for a period of time so since they're
intertwined when the Eva takes damage
the pilot will mentally feel the damage
too shinji's comms are cut off as his
Eva attains major damage and the last
thing that can be heard are his fearful
screams as Shinji loses control of
himself the Eva goes berserk shedding
pieces of it armor unveiling teeth
underneath it jumps on ceil and rips him
apart brutally spearing its core with a
shattered rib sensing the certain death
faced in this situation Cecil initiates
a self-destruct hoping to take the
monster before him with it but through
the haze of ash from the explosion the
Eva walks unscathed by the Angel's final
attack gendo watches unsurprised by this
development as if he knew this would
happen and is precisely why he wanted
Shinji to Pilot once Shinji wakes up
from his partial coma he has absolutely
no no memory of the evag going berserk
when questioned about it most members of
nerve are perplexed by this situation
while a few remain in the no primarily
gendo Ritu and Koo not wanting him to
live alone misant decides to take Shinji
as her roommate while it's a little
vague at first it's hinted that this is
out of a maternal Instinct but another
way to take it is also pity she sees the
lifelessness he projects and knows that
piloting the Eva isn't necessarily going
to make that any better and she feels
partially at fault for that pushing her
to take the boy under her wing
it takes a while for Shinji to adapt to
the life he lives now which is to no
surprise it's painfully obvious that he
suffers from extreme depression and
holds deep rooted attachment and
intimacy issues due to his father's
neglect of him he hates his father but
he also desperately wants his father's
affection which makes him hate himself
as well for needing it Shinji also
thinks of himself as a coward and a
waste of space he has begun to wall
himself off emotionally from the others
as he internally thinks that they will
betray him as his father did before he
doesn't help that his beliefs get real
world support after a boy at school toi
beats him up toi blames Shinji for his
sister's injuries that were caused by
the fighting between Eva 01 and sasil
this sends him into a deeper state of
depression when receiving a comment of
the good he does as a pilot from misato
shinji's response is that he doesn't
feel like the good he does can be
considered so why would his schoolmate
beat him then this quote and one said by
ritzo helps us understand exactly where
Shinji stands immedately Pilots the Eva
as it's his only existing purpose doing
so makes things easier even if he walks
away he'll be constantly monitored by
nerve's secret service and he will never
truly Escape his father's overcasting
shadow of disappointment but if he stays
he may just get some praise out of it
one of his inner desires he doesn't put
much weight on the morality of what
nerve does at this point just does what
he's told and that he
does
the fourth Angel sham shell arrives
following in his predecessor's footsteps
seemingly trying to enter nerve HQ why
the Angels attempt this is uncertain but
it's made apparent later that every
Angel has different goals in mind some
may instinctively fight their enemy
neres some may want to make contact with
Lilith and begin the third impact some
attempt to retrieve Adam's embryo some
try to understand Humanity itself
whichever one doesn't really matter to
Shinji whose sole order is the same as
ever kill the Angel normally during
Angel encounters the local population
has moved to bunkers to avoid casualties
but shinji's classmates toi and kensuke
beside today they won't be doing that as
kensuke is adamant of seeing an Eva
fight an angel the Skirmish spills right
onto the hill the two are located on and
Shinji is ordered to move them into his
cockpit for their safety it's inside
here the two realize that piloting and
Eva isn't so much the sunshine and
rainbows the two thought would be
attached to the fame that comes with
it

Shinji is successful in killing sham
shell with his body for the most part
being intact Nerf takes the corpse in
for research which would eventually lead
to the recreation of the angels of
limited power source es2
drive it's been 3 days since the death
of the fourth Angel and Shinji has been
missing since he's pretty much skipped
town riding a train to its last stop
sulking the entire way he goes to a
local movie theater where he catches a
glimpse of a couple making out while
before this Shinji was dead face this
act of intimacy seemed to have stried a
cord with the kid to put in perspective
imagine when you were 14 and your own
curiosity of sexual intimacy it's
exactly what he's going through right
now in the meantime isato doesn't try to
locate Shinji she knows the pain and
price that comes with piloting and has a
stand in for a parental figure can't
bring herself to drag Shinji back alas
gendo doesn't think similar another few
days pass as Shinji is escorted back by
nerve security where he's faced with a
decision does he continue being a pilot
despite wanting to run away from it all
and all his problems or does he stay and
continue to face his fears misato
confronts him only to say he should
leave if it's what he wants which sets
him off what Shinji wanted to hear was
her nag him for running away for days
tell him she was worried tell him to
stay he wants to be wanted he wants to
be cared about he wants somebody to
acknowledge that his existence isn't a
waste but he doesn't get that and
decides to leave as Shinji is escorted
to a train out of town toi and Kens find
him the past week toi wanted to
apologize to Shinji for punching him his
own sister even now agging him for his
actions and after they saw what he goes
through he realized that Shinji doesn't
sit on a high horse with his status
after that the trio builds a closer
relationship albeit a little too late
Shinji calls out to them before being
escorted to the train that he isn't
worthy of the praise they give him calls
himself a coward a sneak it shouldn't
care for him but the two don't see it
that
way as Shinji waits for the train he
goes through his experience so far and
questions his choice to leave isato
finds out about the news of his depart
departure which sets things in
perspective for her she never really
wanted him to leave just for him to
choose for himself regardless of how she
may feel she races to the station to see
him off but it seems she's too late the
train has left as the train passes the
station Shinji still stands in the same
spot as before he arrived at the
conclusion that running away from his
problems is not the answer and toi
coming to make amends with him are a
primary reason he's able to stay they
reached a hand out to him something he
has rarely seen misato and Shinji lock
eyes now knowing how the other feels if
only a little for misato hearing Shinji
pour his feelings in the cell to her for
Shinji misato rushing to the train
station their bond grows stronger
recently Shinji has become fixated on
the relationship between his father and
Reay not in a there's more to uncover
here kind of way just a jealous child
whose dad ignores him but seems to have
a very kind and considerate relationship
with this random teenage girl and the
big picture we know the reason he treats
her this way is because of the
importance she has in his master plan
but we're not there just
yet the fifth angel rameel appears in
Tokyo 3 Ray and Shinji called the base
to be on standby for orders on the way
Ray asks Shinji if he trust his father
he replies with a hard no causing Ray to
slap him for disrespecting gendo our
first clue that Ry has a warp
perspective of the man which is
understandable as he is basically her
Creator Ray is originally chosen for
dispatch but gendo vetos this stating
that she is not ready yet and opts to
send Shinji instead more keen to send
his own child to his demise Shin up was
being the case get
that imately struck down the instant his
Eva surface Shinji is pulled back for
emergency medical assistance gendo is
not all that concerned with his
condition and insists on fixing the Eva
and getting Shinji stable so that he can
go back out there misato comes up with a
plan to overload an Eva gun with all the
electrical energy in Japan which is put
to use gel has begun drilling towards
the nerve HQ core where lth lies making
their deadline very short once Shinji is
awake awakened Ry and he are thrown into
position there's a small amount of
downtime where Shinji asks Ray why do
she Pilots an Eva her response is that
it's all she has her one connection to
gendo and all of humanity Shinji is
confused by what she means by this but
before he can get his answer the two are
thrown into action with Ray acting as
his shield and Shinji the Executioner
while the first shot is met with an
equally powerful Blast from R the second
shot proves deadly preventing it from
reaching Lilith marking the end of the
fifth angel due to blocking the beam of
light shot at Shinji Ray Eva's
completely melted Shinji rushes over to
her pod and pulls her out mirring the
exact same action gendo performed
earlier during the failed trial run this
symbolism shows us that these two are
similar people at least from the eyes of
Reay they both care for her and she
recognizes that despite her inability to
comprehend emotions fully it's the scene
that raised feelings of affection for
Shinji start to
build misato takes Shinji and his
friends on a mission with her to
supervise the delivery of Evo 02 too
along with Asuka it's pilot and secretly
transported with them is the embryo of
Adam it's worth noting in the events
prior to this misato and shinji's
relationship has grown during a test of
a nuclear powered Eva created by the UN
who feel threatened by the control that
seal a nerve hold in the Eva space this
experiment goes completely wrong and
misato takes it upon herself to climb
into the machine and disarm it Shinji
begs her not to saying it's too
dangerous but she makes it clear to him
that this is what she must do the
nuclear explosion of the Eva unit is
just barely of voided due to a Little
Help From a miracle one set up to happen
from the very beginning by nerve who
intentionally made the Eva go Haywire so
they could take control of the situation
and stop it making the UN look like

following the fleet's arrival to Japan
Asuka joins the pilot ranks at nerve HQ
she also Shacks up with misato and

not though she has to learn to cooperate
with Shinji fast as the seventh angel
arrives at Tokyo 3
shores as we and all the characters know
Asuka is a narcissist with a superiority
complex although her reasoning for being
this way makes it a tad understandable
she lives with the trauma of her
childhood which was made up of an
Unfaithful dad who had no care for his
insane wife and her mom whose story is a
bit more complex asuka's mom worked on
the Eva 02 and one day similarly to
shinji's Mom she merged with the Eva but
rather than being fully absorbed only
part of her soul was taken leaving an
unstable mind and body behind Asuka
watched as over time her mom's sanity
deteriorated until one day she attempted
double suicide with her daughter ASA
pleaded for her mom not to kill her and
she ran away from her hospital room only
to come back later and see her dangling
from the ceiling she begins to develop a
hatred towards her mom and her dad for
both leaving her and moving on albe it
in different ways she desperately tries
to grow up and project strong
Independence but despite her words
something inside her speaks differently
she needs others and desperately wants
her crush on Kaji to become more than
just a childish dream but she's just a
kid no matter if she says
differently one day Asuka sleepwalks
into shinji's futon and lies next to him
Shinji nearly kisses her succumbing to
his desires and living up to the word
sneak that he called himself earlier but
he stops himself as he hears Asuka call
out for her mom crying for the past
several days all Asuka has been is
difficult prideful and arrogant but in
this moment she shows weakness she
unintentionally shows Shinji that she is
feelings that she doesn't show which
makes him loath himself for trying to
kiss her but also allows him to
understand who she really is underneath

mask the seventh angel is a split of
twins bolstering two cores meaning this
angel can only be taken out in a
choreograph dance sequence I am for real
the first encounter with israfel leaves
nerve a laughing stock Asuka disobeys
order and attacks leading to isael
splitting and whipping both Eva 01 and 0
two's asses they're forced to regroup
and learn sync attack over the next week
in the meantime isfel is recovering from
taking a nuclear charge to the face
courtesy of the UN husa struggles to
learn with Shinji becoming impatient and
naturally trying to work with him as her
equal but misant is tired of her [ __ ]
and instructs Ray to perform the SN
moves with perfect results this anger
ASCA and she storms off with a hurt ego
but this is exactly what she needed to
take this seriously during the remainder
of the week the two train with each
other finally nailing the performance
and taking down the Twin Angels
following the hard fought battle the
pilots are forced to stay behind of a
school field trip on standby in case of
an Angel attack but Shinji mostly
expected this and so the everyday flow
of the current
continues an angel embryo is found in a
pit of molten lava Asuka is called on to
dive and retrieve it while Shinji plays
support the task is relatively
straightforward but on the way up the
embryo hatches and Asuka must fight it
oneon-one with her suit reaching its
temperate limits with the help of Shinji
she is able to kill Angel 8 and not
drown in a pool of
magma during a power outage in Nerf the
ninth Angel attempts to invade HQ the
outage has all the signs of a planned
attack most likely performed by Seal
neres parent or but one that does not
trust them y just gives them a chance to
obtain layouts of HQ without being found
out despite this nerve prepares the Evas
manually for battle while the pilots
find their way to the launch grounds
with a choreographed attack the three of
them are able to kill Madel before he
invades the base during the fight Asuka
takes a defensive task which is used to
show her growth as a person normally all
she would do is go for the glory and be
the one who performs the kill shot most
of this growth comes from the
conversation the three had prior on
their way to the base Asuka verbally
attacks Ry who she believes is the
favorite which is a position that Asuka
is jealous of as she too like Shinji
wants to be needed by others Ray
responds saying she isn't more favored
and she knows that all too well this to
me implies that she knows that the only
reason gendo is warm to her is because
he needs something of her the fact that
she even says this shows she's grown
from the day she slapped Shinji for
disrespecting his father as she is
comfortable saying something that has a
bad connotation of genda Shinji also
asks the girls what they think the
angels are he shows a desire to
understand them and why it is they have
to kill them especially if they're given
the same name as messengers of God Asuka
de misses his worries using the old its
kill or be killed statement which
doesn't really resonate with Shinji and
it's something he continues to fight to
understand throughout the
story the 10th Angel arrives just in
time for mis's promotion to Maj you
Sahel is a tricky one to fight as the
angel floats in the stratosphere far
above the eve of fighting range the
angel bombards the Tokyo 3 area
seemingly learning how to properly aim
before descending downwards at break
neck speed in a suicide charge that will
completely level the entire city knowing
of this imminent danger misato asks the
kids to do the most Reckless plan
they've done yet which is to literally
catch the angel to stop the impact then
impale it they are asked to write a
still given the danger of the mission
they all agreed to to which they
declined sure of themselves and trusting
a mis's plan on their way to the Evas
Shinji asked Asuka why she Pilots her
response is that she wants to prove
something to the world when asked why he
does Shinji can't find an answer waiting
for the operation to begin Shinji
reflects on a conversation he had with
misato where he asks her why it is she
joined nerve after thinking about it she
came to the conclusion that it was to
avenge her father despite the hate she
felt for him for neglecting her and her
mother and only caring about work which
led to an eventual divorce her despise
was conflicted through his actions
during the second impact when he saved
her leaving her unsure of how she feels
about him in some way she feels if she
destroys the Angels it will free her of
the memory of her father and the
sacrifice he made for her in the end it
seems that misato wants to unburden
herself from emotional attachment to her
father and until she does she must plant
her feet and pursue the end this
conversation makes Shinji realize
something about himself he's constantly
fighting the urge to run away from his
father piloting intimacy and all his
other fears but despite that he stays he
continues to Pilot he continues to make
improvements he continues to form bonds
his desire to stand his ground gives him
new found strength the three
successfully stop and kill sahak quel
the 10th
Angel the 11th Angel is possibly one of
the most unique a virus that attacks and
spreads into the nerve Magi
supercomputer system attempting to
overtake the entire Mainframe and
initiate a self-destruct of the entire G
front compound Adel is outsmarted by
arito who recodes her mother's system to
trick the angel into killing itself
ending its March Of Terror as seal
questions gendo's actions during recent
events Ray has become more and more
ominous of a figure for us we know that
there are multiple versions of her but
for Shinji and the others none of this
is known during a test involving Shinji
and Eva 00 the mech goes berser once
more attacking the glass and showing
sheer Agony Nito was confident that the
Eva was trying to attack her through the
class and she would be right as Shinji
saw before the Evo went berserk a ray
swam towards him at least mentally
speaking or evidence that Ray Juan's
piece of Soul has been used to bring
this Eva to life it seems that Ray one
when first sinking with a pilot seizes
control like this and flails about
almost like it's coming back from its
final moments of being strangled by noo
which is precisely why it attempts to
attack her daughter who looks very
similar when it is first awakened when

the berserk fight with sasil he
remembers nothing making R's story even
more perplexing she seems to know that
there's something different of her
questioning the nature of her existence

mind she knows what she was created to
do by gendo way before it shared with us
Ray does not share information or many
feelings for that matter with anyone we
can see on her face she's developed a
love for Shinji the type of love it is
is rather complex being a part of the
soul of Lilith Humanity's Creator and
genetically mother the two have a
relationship closer to siblings than
lovers Shinji is the Catalyst for Ray
questioning these things he gives life
to her world she begins to question
gendo question what he made her for and
question what it is that makes her her
despite this she still does gendo's
bidding moving the Lance of less to L's

truth and he warns misant that REO and
gendo are keeping secrets from her which

these two have such a trust in one
another despite how Shady Kaji would
look from an inside perspective of a
major nerve employee is because of their
shared past throughout College these two
were passionate lovers but after
graduating misat broke the relationship
off her reason being that she was
frightened of how much he reminded her
of her father she ran from him out of
fear relating herself to Shinji in the
way she acted to then kiss say the
obvious feelings are still there but so
is misato's trauma just like Shinji she
runs from her problems she hides behind
Pleasures specifically alcohol and sex
they provide her an escape from her
emotions a sight of her she despises
because it shows just how weak she
really is misato isn't the only girl
that has feelings for Kaji Asuka still
holds a major crush on him that deep
down she knows will never be
reciprocated despite this she can't help
but feel a certain way towards him she
also feels a certain way towards Shinji
and as the two sit alone passing time
till misato gets home she asks Shinji if
he wants to kiss reluctantly he agrees
but as they kiss Shinji shows a lack of
emotion over

by his reaction and attempts to cover up
her true feelings by acting like she
hated it drowning her rejection by
loudly gurly mouthwash Kaji brings
misato home putting her to bed and Asuka
can smell misato's perfume on him
symbolizing to her that the two are back
together leaving her with two strikes in
a night when it comes to
romance Shinji has overtaken Asuka and
the syn test tests run often to check
how Pilots are in tune with their Evas
meaning that Shinji has a higher sink to
his mother and Eva 01 allowing for
better performance this aners Asuka who
as we know must be better in everything
or she runs the risk of becoming
emotionally unstable moments later a
strange optical illusion like ball
appears above Tokyo 3 deemed the 12th
Angel well it may seem that l l is the
strange ball it is in actuality the
shadow cast on the ground the ball in
the sky is its projection the pilots do
not know this immediately and after
being haggled by Asuka for having a
higher score Shinji rushes into action
becoming engulfed in the lel's pocket di
menion a deadline for the operation
emerges if they can't get Shinji out
within 16 hours the Eva's life support
will run out and he will die beo
prioritizes the recovery of Eva 01 over
shinji's life and decides they'll blow
the entire pocket Dimension up to
implode the angel this angers misato and
she slaps the scientist and is removed
from command of the operation for being
too emotionally involved this marks the
beginning of her spiral of distrust in
nerve as a whole inside LEL Shinji is
contacted by the angel who has taken an
interest in the pilot LEL takes on the
form of shinji's younger self asking him
why he lives for only bits of praise and
blinds himself of the things that cause
him pain directly telling him he cannot
go on living like that Shinji becomes
angry shouting why is it so bad to live
like this if it makes him happy he's
forced to relive moments he's avoided
the times he's ran from the bad afraid
of being hated he thinks that since he
already hates himself why would anyone
think differently moments before his
death his mother's Soul reaches out to
him Sheltering him protecting him
despite losing all power the Eva once
more becomes berserk
while Shinji recovers a nerve base in
Nevada instructed with recreating the S2
engine for Eva use completely implodes
unsure of the cause America Forks Eva 03
over to nerve HQ in Japan not wanting to
lose their other American Branch to a
similar issue meanwhile gendo and reito
have been at work on a dummy system to
be installed into Eva 03 and 02 these
systems will be able to control the Evas
just like the pilots but re points out
that there are many errors and they are
imperfect but gendo doesn't care the
dummy systems are installed into the
Evas as fallbacks except 03 it's too
risky to use a dummy in the first
startup so a new pilot must be chosen
thanks to the information we received
from Kaji we know that the nerve will
actually be the ones picking the four
children and we also know that it will
be coming from shinji's classmates when
toi shinji's friend is the one picked
nanto is initially surprised by that
coincidence which Kaji quickly makes
clear that it isn't one and informs her
about Muk and the canid for
Pilots once toi is informed that he will
be piloting Eva 03 he becomes kind of
somber about the whole thing it's a
mixed bag of emotions on one hand his
sister will get the best medical care
and hopefully make a better recovery
after being injured in the battle
between sasil and Eva 01 at the same
time he's seen the pain and sorrow that
Shinji has experienced piloting it's not
an easy task to be demanded of toi
decides not to share this information
with anyone the only reason Asuka and
Ray find out is Word of Mouth but no one
not even miso wants to tell Shinji that
toi's been
picked the day comes for Eva 03 to be
started up while the transport carrying
the Eva flies through a cloud a strange
spark is seen entering the unit once the
Eva arrives toi is put in for startup
only it goes horribly wrong Nerf tries
to cut power to the unit but it doesn't
work the entire station implodes and out
of it walks an
angel the 13th Angel has an infected Eva
03 and marches towards Tokyo 3 the pilot
cannot be ejected out of the unit but
regardless the trio are tasked with
killing the Eva all of them are hesitant
to fight it both Ray and Asuka knowing
toi is inside and Shinji ignorant to
this fact but conscious of someone being
inside Eva 02 is taken out before being
able to react to 03s movements 00
hesitates to shoot 03 which results in
its arm getting infected gendo orders
for the arm to be severed despite Ray
still being sync to the Eva resulting in
her feeling the the mental anguish of
losing her arm with only Shinji Still
Standing he is forced to engage the Eva
despite being ordered to kill the
machine he refuses to while the pilot is
still trapped inside gendo is tired of
his child's morals and activates the
dummy system which seizes control of 01
the system breaks hero 3's neck and
begins to crush its skull Shinji cries
out for his father to stop but gendo
just sits there watching desperately
Shinji tries to seize control back of
the Eva being forced to watch as it
tears apart 03 LM from limb the nerve
agents watch on in horror Shinji screams
out in desperation for his father to
stop this as 01 grabs the pilot
plug Shinji sits in his cockpit
overlooking Belle's mutilated husk
finally tells him who the fourth pilot
is just as he sees toi pulled from the
wreckage of 03 barely alive he loses it
the events of this cause Shinji to have
an emotional outrage directed majorly at
his father's cold indifference of the
matter they shut down his Eva to stop
him from leveling the complex and when
he wakes he decides he's leaving ner toi
is presumably evacuated a little after
waking up although he did lose a leg he
is still alive thankfully in shinji's
absence ziel the 14th Angel appears
preventing his train from leaving Asuka
and Reay are no match for its raw
strength with one blow it penetrates 18
of the 22 layers of armor between the
Surface and neres geofront HQ they
attempt to put Ray on Eva 01 but it
rejects her and the dummy plug as well
seeming to no longer answer to anyone
Asuka is thrown into a fight with zel to
which her rifle and Rocket rounds have
no effect zel responds by severing her
arms leaving Asuka in crippling Agony
isato gives the order to cut the sink
between 02 and Asuka just as the unit's
head ised
off the head of the evil lands in the
shelter Shinji was located in to his
horor questioning his decision de ision
not to Pilot again he stumbles upon Kaji
who is watering his garden he asks him
what he's doing here it seems his work
investigating nerve has come to light
and he has been blacklisted from the HQ
during combat operations so he came to
his garden as if it's time that he dies
this is where he wants to be Ray charges
the angel in a suicide attack which
fails horribly as Shinji watches on in
teor Kaji tells him that there is
something he and only he can do while he
is helpless to prevent the third impact
in the entire human race from ending
Shinji however unfair the burden may be
has that weight on his shoulders and he
must make the decision if this is where
it all ends so he doesn't have
regrets when he gets to nerve the angel
has already made its way inside HQ
demands his father lets him pilot 01
zerel nearly annihilates the nerve team
only to be saved by the Eva Shinji takes
the fight to the surface his Eva losing
an arm in the process just as he almost
rips the Angel's Face Off his unit loses
power he pleads his Eva to move his
desperation and will not to let any more
people die activates the Evo once more
going berserk the sink rate passes 400%
and awakens it to a new existence the
being rips off the Angel's arm melding
it as their own taking flesh like form
01 jumps onto the angel begins to devour
its body along with its S2 engine giving
the Evangelion fo unlimited power
becoming the first complete Eva said to
be equal to God more of the armor that
acts as restraints for the Beast that
lies underneath our shed and Eva 01 how
into the night all is going according to
plan eventually the berserk Eva is
contained but Shinji is seemingly
absorbed into the beast non-existent in
the pilot plug NCO assures misat that he
specifically his soul is still in the
Eva plug and all they need to do is
assist him in returning to form a whole
month goes by as this process is
attempted during so Shinji is on a
mental trip exploring his hatred for his
father and his feelings of desertion but
on the other side he is also the one who
ran away from home in the end to escape
the pain he felt being neglected so is
he at fault too he asks Ry who seems to
be his mental guide why it is that
others are nice to him he assumes it's
because he Pilots the Eva and that his
reason to stay alive is he must win for
others the weight of his responsibility
as a pilot overtakes him as he screams
out for people in his life to be nice to
him the reply received
is Shinji is constantly struggling with
self worth and his only relief is from
others praising him but it never fills
that void he always needs more there's a
hole in him and instead of trying to
fill it himself he relies on others to
make up for it but it's only temporary
he himself must confront and solve these
issues which is why immediately
following we see a pre- instrumentality
conversation about becoming one with Rey
Asuka and misato a teas to us and to
Shinji that something lies ahead
something that is promising to make
Shinji whole while experiencing this
Shinji rejects the nerve team's attempt
to bring him back he's posed with the
question what is it that you wish for
before being thrust out of this
instrumentality Haze and regaining
awareness that he himself both body and
soul is still in the Eva he tries to
understand why he would pilot again when
he explicitly stated he would not to
where a mental image of misato makes him
recall his choices that he has piloted
the Eva that he is the person he is now
because he piloted the Eva he cannot
deny the self he has been so far which
is his past but as for his future that
is something he must decide for himself
the past has happened and will always of
happen he cannot change what he has
chosen to do but he can decide for his
future what he will do next this
conversation forces Shinji to recognize
himself all of himself allowing him to
be born a new if he wills it so as he
makes his way back to form he pushes
towards a light a symbol of his mother's
Soul this whole scene referencing his
rebirth as a human misato who was in
deep grief under the assumption that
shin was lost is relieved to see him
return a few days later the vice
Commander Koo is kidnapped by Seal who
are very angry that Evo 01 has absorbed
an S2 engine as it wasn't what was
prophesized in the Dead Sea Scrolls at
least part they were privy to Cojo dumps
major Exposition on them of the behindth
scen scoop of the second impact much of
the stuff mentioned in the prean Genesis
section of this video Kaji later sneaks
in and rescues the commander who
comments that what he's doing will lead
to his death once more Kaji states he

out and he returns to his room and
covers his ears simply saying that there
was nothing he could do or say Nerf and
seals seem to be preparing for a major
initiative the reduction of Evangelion
units 5 through 13 have begun in seven
different countries without the
permission of Nerf obviously seals use
of power while Huga thinks this is a
preparation for a large scale Angel
attack nanto knows there's ulterior
motives at play ASA is facing severe
mental distress as her meaning for
existence piloting the Eva is in
Jeopardy her SN rate is drastically
declining due to her mental instability
caused by her constant losses and
shinji's successes she's angry and her
narcissism is turning on her she hates
that Shinji is so close to Ray she hates
misant for loving Kaji she hates her
parents for being so flawed and most of
all she hates herself for being the way
she is and all this emotional buildup
could not come at a worst
time Adel the 15th Angel appears before
nerve Asuka and Ray are tasked to handle
it with shinji's sideline because the
chance of Evo 01 being infected by the
angel is too great a risk Asuka disobeys
command and takes point in the operation
to which a long stalemate due to ael's
unreachable height in the sky is ended
with the angel projecting a beam of
light towards Eva 02 straight into
asuka's mind the beam causes great
mental stress as she is forced to live
the absolute worst parts of her
childhood her mother's suicide her
painful youth despite the possibility of
permanent damage to her mind she refuses
to pull out wanting to die rather than
be defeated with no way to kill the
angel on hand the team can only watch as
Asuka has a complete mental
breakdown Zer 2's life support reaches
critical levels and gendo decides that
they should use the Spear of linous Koo
digresses is knowing to seal this item
is needed for the prophecy of the Dead
Sea Scrolls to be completed a gendo has
a different path ahead in mind and
getting rid of the spear is vital Ray
hurls the spear towards Adel killing it
and the spear is lost in lunar orbit
Asuka is safe but has lost her
will as a 16th Angel approaches Tokyo 3
gendo's use of the spear has angered
seal who are seriously considering the
possibility that genda will betray them
they State there will be a warning sent
to him to keep him in line Reay is sent
to attack the Angel which results in a
standoff until they can understand the
location of its core Armel makes the
first move and Dives straight into the
Eva attempting to fuse with Ray he
sought to launch his Eva 02 to assist
Ray but as asuka's syn level has reached
single digits she is no longer capable
of piloting the unit inside Ray's mind
Armel makes contact with her the angel
questions Ry about the feelings inside
her heart which Ry recognizes as
loneliness Armel responds that she too
is lonely she creates a growth that
takes shape of all all Angels before it
possibly trying to resurrect them to
cure her own loneliness Ray on the other
hand begins to cry for the first time
gendo immediately orders Eva 01 to
resume operation and be launched in a
desperate attempt to rescue Reed Asuka
takes note that gendo refused to do the
same for her when she was in danger
against Adel and Falls further into
despair Shinji engages the angel as it
takes the shape or shapes of Reay a
large white ray attempts to merge with
shinji's Eva Ray recognizes this as her
heart's desire to be one with Shinji she
refuses to let it take him and
heroically contains the angel within
herself and self-destructs resulting in
armas's death as well as her
own Shinji is devastated by Rey's death
yet can't seem to cry misato attempts to
give him Comfort but Shinji retracts
from her like she attempted to make a
pass on him soon after misato finds out
that somehow Reay alive and Shinji goes
to meet her though she has no memory of
self-destructing to save him but leaves
him with some troubl
words EO looks over an image of her mom
and gendo focusing finally on gendo's
face a symbol of like mother like
daughter she too has fallen for the man
she calls Shinji to meet her and misato
follows here ritzo makes clear to both
of them the truth behind Ray the clones
and tubes before them are mere dummies
lacking the soul that is in the real Ray
Ray three at this point these are merely
parts of her vessels in the case of the
one she has becoming unusable but none
of this is of her own will the soul of
Lilith was extracted and forced into
bodies genetically made of yui shinji's
mom gendu attempted to create people
from Adam creating the even gelion in
his experimentations he was only able to
produce One Soul Reay which would be
used in the Clones of UI since there's
only one the rest of the bodies remain
soulless just like the crude Recreations
of Adam only Souls within those beings
are those taken from perished humans the
remains of the failed Evas lie in the
pits here at nerve HQ and Rito makes it
a graveyard for raised clones too
killing every last one of
them this was done out of spite anger
towards gendo who she feels she lost to
Ry the man she loved cared none for her
she was a tool one he would sleep with
used for gain and toss aside she hated
him but loved him all at the same time
meanwhile Ry attempts to remember why
her tears seem so familiar to her as
they fall off her cheeks while she looks
at gendo's glasses atas she never
arrives at an
answer Tokyo 3 lies in craters shinji's
friends have left town both in various

into a depressed state asuka's
depression spirals out of control
leaving her a mere husk of a being by
the time nerve can find her Reay off
contemplating her rebirth in emotional
turmoil isato is left unsure of What
bond she has anymore as every
relationship around her shatters and
breaks nitco has has lost any will of
living and only holds anger for gendo as
he looks over the ruins a boy named kou
interrupts his train of thought
introducing himself as the fifth
children koru fills the whole nerve
created by asuka's mental spiral and his
existence is ominous described the best
his SN rate is incredibly high for no
explanation and he hints to Reay he
knows her true nature seeing that they
are one and the same both taking the
form of a Lin AKA a human as they
inhabit Earth the word lillin derives
from Lilith creator of humanity soan is
used to describe his children the fact
that he knows information like this
directly implies what you are all
thinking kodu or tabes is an angel and
is Adam's Soul at that he's the third
angel that makes up a trifecta of their
attempt to understand the human race
arel attempts to interpret asuka's mind
Amel Rays tabis Shinji koru separates
himself from the others he doesn't
attempt to understand them through a
mental attack but instead through basic
human Interac action communication the
two become very close in a short amount
of time Shinji feels he can open up and
be honest to him his original wall of
intimacy and affection with others is
bypassed he's even able to reciprocate
the words I love you to him during the
bath scene kodu makes it clear to Shinji
that he understands what he's doing by
avoiding connecting with others he's
trying to prevent himself from feeling
pain from being betrayed it's the past
experience that's led him to be this way
in ka's words fragile like glass but as
long as he stays this way he will always
be lonely something every character in
Evangelion struggles with koru makes it
clear that no human can completely
banish lonel because to be human we are
alone separated by bodies of Flesh this
is what it means to be an individual but
as humans we have that ability to forget
loneliness even just for a bit when we
connect with others Shinji stays the
night with Karu when he opens up about
his life before he join Nerf and the
hatred he feels for his father Kaoru
expresses to Shinji that maybe he was
born to meet him to allow him to feel
what it means to fully connect with
another very philosophical and hopeful
perspective Nerf has become gendo's
personal play thing and seal is afraid
of what he might do they are under the
assumption that he attends to activate
the instrumentality project for his
personal gain which is precisely on
point gendo's selfish plans are to use
Adam's Body now imbued in his hand to
activate the project and reconnect with
UI the consequences of this on Humanity
means absolutely nothing to him seal
instructs kodu to begin instrumentality
before gend can completing their will
they believe that Humanity born of the
black moon housing Lilith have absurd
the natural order where the children of
Adam were supposed to flourish they did
instead seal believes that Humanity
should become one with God Lilith Adam

02 since asuka's mother's Soul has
withdrawn itself in response of the
psychological trauma inflicted on her by
Adel it can be controlled like any other
Eva with that in mind kodu activate 02
marking the beginning of the end Shinji
is ordered to take 01 and stop Co before
he reaches lth in terminal Dogma in
anguish Shinji calls out to his friend
insisting he betrayed him just like his
father did before as Shinji fights
asuka's unit kodu comments on the human
Race's use of Evangelion to fight other
adom based life forms in a desperate
attempt to survive they put their hope
and trust in the very enemy that
threatened their existence you can't
seem to understand this Shinji attempts
to attack hodu whose at field simply
negates the attempts he explains to
Shinji that the at fields are really
just the inner wall we all possess the
wall between the you and the me it's a
physical manifestation of our boundaries
as individuals and with that expose he
severs any connection from outside their
conflict shutting down all of nerves
monitoring kodu approaches the crucified
Lilith calling it Adam he contemplates
to himself if it is the duty of those
born of Adam to return to Adam even if
it cost the destruction of an entire
species but this line of thought is
interrupted by the realization that this
being before him is not Adam but leth
he's been deceived by Seal Shinji
defeats 02 and grabs tab's small human
body he begs codu to tell him why why
would he betray him his response is that
it was his Destiny to survive even at
the cost of humanity but ju supposed to
this is an ulterior route he could also
die his thought process here makes
perfect sense given his name as an angel
tabis angel of free will and his last
will is to be granted death Only One
race angel or lillin can survive and be
granted a future and kodu has judged
that Shinji is not a being that should
die he thanks Shinji glad to have met a
human like him and Shinji performs his
final

wish after kulu's death Shinji is
severely distraught he finds him at the
same place he met the angel he asserts
to her that kodu was the better person
he was the first person to say he loved
Shinji and he loved him too he was like
him and like gray and he was the one
that deserved to live isata tries to
assure Shinji he did the right thing it
was necessary for Humanity to survive
but she's met with Shinji exclaiming
that she's a cold being
heartless finally mustering up the
courage to visit OA in the hospital
Shinji pleads with her to help him to
comfort him call him an idiot like she
always does anything but she's deep in a
medical coma following her starv State
and his cries can't reach her he becomes
increasingly panicked shaking her until
her gown open opens revealing her bare
chest Shinji then proceeds to masturbate
to this right then and there an
absolutely deplorable action and he
feels the exact same way we perceive him
after while there is no excuse for his
actions as will be a prominent theme
moving forward is Shinji struggle with
his sexuality he loses control of his
impulses and doesn't understand what
these feelings are where they come from
and what he's supposed to do with them
all he knows is that they make him
afraid of women in intimacy and
deplorable even to himself seal has had
enough of gendo's [ __ ] he's way off
Court from their original plan and they
no longer trust him to execute human
instrumentality in their image they
launched a Cyber attack on nerves Maggie
system and attempts of shutting down
their system and ability to fight gendo
pulls ritzo out of the brri to deal with
this and despite his betrayal of her she
defies all logic and helps ward off the
attack unsure herself why she's even
doing this with the failure of the Cyber
attack seal launches a full scale
offensive bombarding the bases exterior
armor and sending in Special Forces to
begin The Invasion misato takes control
of the operation knowing that if SE
finds the pilots they will kill them
with no hesitation she sends asuka's
body in eva02 to hiding while she
attempts to locate Shinji Ray has been
called upon by gendo as it's finally
time to execute his plan Shinji on the
other hand sits underneath the staircase
doing absolutely nothing his suppression
becoming crippling misato rushes in
killing the three officers who intend to
execute Shinji she attempts to drag him
to Eva 01 but he's gone limp refusing to
move wanting death wanting nothingness
he's reached a state worse than at the
start of his time at nerve he's
experienced torture amounts of loss and
it's left him broken misato is pissed
that he's given up on everything
including himself and drags him along
with her meanwhile asuka's at her mental
Breaking Point desperately pleading to
live as she's bombed by Seal forces
who've dropped an equivalent of a
nuclear bomb on top of nerve exposing
the underground geofront to the sky but
instead of completely snapping Asuka has
an epiphany she has the realization that
her mother has always been watching over
her from within the Eva like a guardian
angel this gives her an insurmountable
increase in morale and strength her Eva
syn rate returning as she fights off the
entire seal army with their military
outmatched by 02 they resort to sending
in the mass-produced line of even gelion
nine monstrosities that seal had various
Labs work to put together much like the
dummy plugs that use raise soulless
clone bodies and place of a pilot these
Evas use plugs of codu they share
absolutely nothing in common with the
angel of Free Will despite looking like
doves a common symbol of peace and hope
these killing machines are Primal able
to regenerate heads and limbs that Asuka
lops off and unlike her these Evas have
a replicated S2 engine completed by seal
giving them unlimited power knowing that
if Asuka doesn't get help before her
power drains she will die misato
desperately tries to get Shinji to Eva
01 in the process of escorting him to
the Launchpad elevator she's mortally
wounded knowing she doesn't have that
much time left she pleads with Shinji to
make a choice he insists he's worthless
incapable of doing anything but hurting
or killing others while piloting the Eva
he's done terrible things and he did
something horrible to Asuka in the
hospital he can't stand the sight of
himself and it's holding him back from
making any choices he's afraid of the
possibility he might hurt or let down
someone again Shinji exclaims to her
that she doesn't understand what he's
going through frustrated misato pulls
Shinji against the wall telling him to
choose she too makes mistakes tons of
them and just because he's made mistakes
doesn't mean he can't move forward she
pleads with him to Pilot the Eva to end
things and find out why it is he came
back to nerve in the first place she
gives him her necklace and kisses him a
kiss pleading for Action is it also
somewhat romantic that's heavily debated
but what I am sure is that this kiss was
a push from misato to get Shinji moving
to shove him into a choice just like she
shoves him into the elevator as Shinji
ascends misato slumps onto the ground
minutes left of life she calls out taji
wondering if she did the right

thing Shinji knows full well that misato
will not make it another day confirmed
by the blood on his lips left from her
kiss his little burst of movement to get
to the Eva is wasted as when he gets
there it's coated in a hard ooze
confronts gendo and Ray in terminal
Dogma as he tries to merge with Lilith
she intends to kill them all
self-destructing the entire base through
a force code but turns out the Maggie
system rejects the command it seems even
in death Rito's mother refuses to kill
the man that they both fallen in love

with Asuka desperately holds the Evas
off unable to defeat them as they
regenerate continuously in her final
seconds of power she's speared by a
replica of the Spear of Linus destroying
the Eva's chance of fighting and her own
eye in the process the Evas pick her
apart like vultures tearing out her
insides Asuka manages to summon an ounce
of strength to enter berserk mode but
it's too late just cut down once
more all Shinji can do is sit there
helpless to lend her a hand listening to
her screens his Eva senses his torment
and pulls itself out of its cocoon
summoning a crazy amount of energy it
takes flight on wings of lightning alas
it's too late Shinji looks to the sky to
see the mutilated corpse of asaz Eva
being carried away he loses
it shinji's psyche has reached full ego
death he has lost every ounce of mental
stability which marks the beginning of
instrumentality The Binding of All Souls
Ry has sensed this causing her to reject
gendo and his wish to use her to merge
with Lilith to see his wife UI once more
she rejects being his puppet almost as
if shinji's absolute Terror snapped her
out of the cage gendo made in her mind
she alone merges with Lilith taking the
embryo of Adam from gendo and creating a
Godlike being capable of granting a boy
a wish she shares with in the skies
above Shinji has been strung upon a
cross by the mass produced Evas the
original Spear of Linus being summoned
by his extreme emotional response to
asuka's mutilation the MP Evas create a
vast anti-at field explosion in gulfing
Japan with Ray returning back into l the
body and soul becomes one once again
Lilith takes Ray's form presenting
itself to Shinji seeing her in front of
him like the shattered Shinji ego
leaving him barely anyone anymore the
mass-produced Evas merge with Ray
sprouting mini Evas all over in a
horrific Series in attempts to Cal
Shinji lilis Sprouts his second torso
that of kodu the person Shinji holds
dear the most with the connection of the
fruits of life and knowledge in better
terms both a pure soul of Lilith being
Shinji and his mom and pure body of Adam
that of the Eva the Spear of less merges
with 01 and Shinji forming the Tree of
Life the source of All Souls inside the
tree Shinji is told by Lilith that the
ray before him represents his heart his
deepest desire to save Ray Lilith Ray
speaks to him stating that the fate of
humanity lies in his hands and he's once
more
asked now this is the point where the
final two episodes of Neon Genesis and
the movie merge into one the series
ending takes a much more internal deep
look into Shinji psyche with a more
happy light-hearted last note the movie
a more visual look at the ending with a
much more serious and realistic final
moment both exist simultaneously in
terms of timeline but convey a very
different tone we'll be combining both
Shinji stands before Lilith who intends
to understand shinji's intentions and
help him understand what those are as
well he's faced with misato Ray and
Asuka three of the most important people
in his life with their bodies gone they
see all of each other for better and For
Worse Shinji is disgusted by misato's
lust for sexual pleasures that she uses
to distract her from herself Asuka
berates Shinji for jerking off to her
telling him to stay clear of her at the
same time though expressing feelings of
want for him and yet saying he'll never
understand her Shinji interjects saying
he tries but she never talks to him or
opens up Ray only intervenes to call out
shinji's lies asking him if he has ever
really tried to understand them in
response he throws a fit like a child
asking for attention for them to look at
him and to be nice to him he singles out
Asuka and tells her that he loves her
but she harshly rejects him pushing him
to the ground telling him he's never
loved himself that anyone will do
anybody to fill the void in his heart he
pleads to her to save him to help him
but she stands above him giving him a
flat

no Shinji strangling the girl he loves
signifies his futility with Humanity
he's given up on it and everyone should
just die he feels betrayed unwanted as
he wishes to never exist Ray or Lilith
questions him countering every word from
his mouth if nobody cares about you what
is your hand for to reach others as
you've done before if nobody cares if
you exist what is your heart for to
reach out to another as you've done
before if it'd be better if you never
existed then why would you be here to
begin with he reaches out to the void
and asks if it's okay for him to be here
but he's just meant was
silence it's been decided that all
Humanity will perish as Shinji rejects
individuality he's failed to reach inner
peace within himself he's afraid of the
pain unable to confront his own demons
therefore he cannot hope to understand
that others struggle with their own
issues so certain that nobody
understands what he's going through all
humans transform to their original form
LCL basically Lilith juice their souls
return to the black moon that delivered
Lilith to Earth as the deity watches
over the process before everyone appears
the person they treasure most to escort
them into instrumentality gendo on the
other hand meets a different fate yui
appears before him asking him why he was
so afraid of Shinji he responds saying
that he believed nobody could love him
that he doesn't deserve to be loved a
typical Hedgehog dilemma both he and his
son face he believed that the closer he
let others in the more he would hurt
them and the more he himself would hurt
so he did the exact opposite rejected
others so that he and the ones he loved
could never be hurt ironically hurting
them in the process regardless very
selfish

and with all being one nobody is anybody
Shinji becomes unsure if this is the
existence he wanted on this form
Humanity completes one another and no
one can be hurt but this existence is
fundamentally Hollow reaching this
conclusion Shinji musters the resolve to
reject instrumentality he accepts that
life is difficult that there's chances
to be hurt or hurt but there's also a
chance to connect with one another
despite this and that's beautiful Shinji
is confronted by Ray and Co who asked
him if he sure he wants to go back to an
existence with pain fear and sadness he
responds saying he doesn't mind despite
being somewhere he can't feel
instrumentality feels wrong the two seem
to understand Shinji asked them why it
is they are both in his heart the soul
of Adam and the soul of lth the response
to him is that they are the hope that
one day people will understand each
other for him they represent the words I
love you Shinji accepts the fact that
there's a chance he will be betrayed and
abandoned by the ones who speak the
these words to him but he finds peace
with that because at the time his
feelings were real as could theirs
Lilith Ray's body crumbles with shinji's
rejection of instrumentality allowing a
Gateway for souls to return to the world
if they so choose Shinji lies on a near
empty beach only populated by himself
and Asuka at the time it seems they are
the only two that have rejected

coming out of the days that was
instrumentality seemed to have triggered
shinji's distrust towards Asuka
following the conversation he had with
her during their confrontation of each
other as Souls despite this though Uka
reaches out her hand touching shinji's
face showing pure affection towards him
for the first time this snaps Shinji out
of his action releasing her once more
he's hurt the one he loves once more he
cries realizing the room he still has to
grow but to be human is to fail to be
terrible and to learn from your mistakes
and shortcomings to self-improve these
two are human once more with all the
good and the bad that come with it Asuka
comments on shinji's instincts leaving
the phrase disgusting as the final words
uttered of the series one that's
importance in the series is heavily
debated what do they mean I think it's
rather simple enough faced with their
own flaws and faults once more on a
post-apocalyptic a beach Nothing Better
Could describe
it in simple terms even gellan is a
story about man's struggle with God
technology and Humanity's experience of
both Joy and Pain human instrumentality
was just man trying to banish loneliness
and all their types of pain we experienc
we struggled against ourselves to
realize this goal some relying on God to
guide their path others using Tech to
forge their own both were used in
immoral ways something that happens all
too often in today's society when ano
created even gelan he faced serious
depression later finding success in
understanding what he was going through
from a friend's helping hand he said
many times that this series was his way
of expressing his inner feelings it was
his Escape how he ran from his anxiety
and fear something everyone does in
Evangelion in their own ways this anime
can be interpreted in hundreds of
different ways there's a heavy Reliance
on imagery and implicit storytelling
hints and references the story Owen
sprinkled throughout the series this
video here is just my interpretation of
Events maybe you think differently and
that's okay but that's not to say we're
done yet the rebuild movies are still a
part of the story to tell one that was W
into existence by ano several years
later later there's so much to cover in
these movies and how they've tied into
the timeline that I think it's best to
give it its own video if you want to see
