[00:01] stressful. And while usually players look for something like best performance or classes tied to power, I think the most important decision is how safe a class is going to be. Let's be real, most of us have lives now. We don't have [00:15] three or four hours a day to play. We're looking for something that's reliable, versatile, and still fun months down the line from now. Welcome back, ladies and Sky, and today we're going to be breaking down the safest classes you can [00:28] main overall in Midnight World of Warcraft. Up first, you can't talk about safe mains in World of Warcraft without starting with the Druid. It's the only class in the game that covers every role and every playstyle. And wow, melee DPS, [00:42] ranged DPS, tanking, healing, all on one character. And heading into Midnight, You're also one of the only classes in Wild that has a battle resurrection, and your raid buff truly makes your utility substantially better than the rest in [00:56] the game. I would say no matter how the meta shifts, Druid will always just single role, and if a spec is ever not working out, you have three other ones to try out and see if you can't make something happen in terms of content. [01:10] That flexibility alone removes so much risk when you're picking a main for an expansion. I also feel personally that the pruning didn't just strip them down. It actually made them a lot better for the rotations, and every spec feels [01:22] of raw rotation and gameplay. I love that Druid scales in all forms of content really well. Also, solo content feels good with delves and prey. Group needed. And if you enjoy versatility, of course, you can swap whenever you need. [01:36] I will say it does take some skill to pull off how a Druid plays, but overall, if you're ready to invest, this is a very safe main in the game. I would say when comparing specs individually, the highest value by far right now has to go [01:49] performing one of the best healers in the game right now. Guardian is doing better, and the changes have done wonders for them, but still specs like Protection Paladin and Vengeance are meta and overall just dominating the [02:02] game right now. When it comes to Feral and Balance, I would say there were some improvements heading into this expansion, but some number tuning could been definitely getting overlooked compared to some other DPS specs in the [02:15] game. Overall though, I will say Druid is in a fantastic spot and anyone would be happy to pick them up in terms of raw performance right now. I would say the not safe because they're super overpowered. They're safe because they [02:28] give you the best flexibility options, man. No matter how the game shifts and how the meta changes, Druid will always have a place. Not only that, this is truly a class that is one of one and if you play it and love it, you'll pretty [02:41] much never have to abandon your main or start over. It's for the kind of player and the confidence that your time investment will not be wasted. So, if you love flexibility and love different role types, this is probably the best [02:55] class for you. Moving on to a big surprise, we actually have to talk about interesting discussion because the Warlock is a pure DPS class, yes, and if you only like damaging, this spec can dominate at that heading into Midnight. [03:10] all play differently. They cover different damage profiles and historically, they tend to rotate in and out of the meta rather than all falling off. If you don't care about playing a tank or a healer, a Warlock can [03:23] probably the most durable caster in the game, also, and you have solid utility with health stones, gateways, and battle perspective, I think Warlock's power ceiling is absolutely through the roof [03:36] right now. They typically reach heights of power which very few classes can even ramping up and they get their stats going. Warlocks are historically known for definitely not being easy to play by all means and they don't ever have too [03:49] much flexibility, but boy, can they bring it on the damage meters if you know what you're doing on this class. For solo content, I also think Warlock is phenomenal. You also have demonology, which makes you bring your felguard pet. [04:01] mastery hunter, but I just think a new and improved version of it. I also think at least one spec is typically meta for Warlock, so their meta stability is solid as well. Across all three specs, I [04:13] good level right now. I would say in particular demonology is one of the best specs in the entire game, while affliction is definitely above average. The only one slightly lagging behind, I would say, is destruction, but that [04:26] doesn't mean they're bad. It really just means that demonology and affliction are perfectly, and there isn't a thing I would change about them. I think Warlock is safe because you got solid utility, S-tier solo power for things like delves [04:40] and prey, three distinct DPS options that let you adapt to class tuning instead of re-rolling if you just like DPS-ing, with some of the best survivability in the game overall as a ranged caster with a tank pet. At this [04:52] point, you name it, the Warlock has it. They're dominating right now across the rewards high skill ceiling, there's almost nothing better than Warlock out there right now. Moving on now, we do have to talk about the Shaman. Now, [05:04] Shaman is another class that checks a lot of boxes across the board when it comes to being safe for long-term play. You have access to two DPS specs being different in terms of style, as well as a solid healer, so you have some good [05:18] variety happening here with Shaman. I would say Shaman was one of the classes that desperately needed pruning heading into midnight because they had way too perfectly to where they don't feel gutted. It just made the rotations feel [05:31] cleaner and your buttons feel a little bit more deliberate and weighted when you press them now. You have, of course, incredible utility with all your totems and your raid-wide Skyfury buff, as well as bloodlust to increase everyone's [05:43] haste in your raid drastically. Not only that, you're the only healer with Restoration Shaman with a kick left in the game. So, that's very important as well. When it comes to grading, honestly, I think Shamans overall in a [05:55] most broken class in the game in terms of raw power, but they're relatively straightforward to play with some incredible utility for rating in Mythic Plus, which makes them nearly mandatory to bring in your party. I think they [06:09] also have some good role flexibility and they're stable in terms of always being wanted. My biggest gripe with Shaman is that for solo content and delves, they could struggle a bit. Shaman is known for having the weakest defensive toolkit [06:23] in the entire game after the pruning with spells like Stone Bulwark Totem even being removed, which I think was a mistake. With that being said though, I think from an overall zoomed out perspective, Shaman's performance is [06:35] exceptionally well in terms of group-based content, but for solo for each spec individually, I got to say right now, all three specs are performing very well. They're all getting great value and they all offer a [06:48] very wide variety of gameplay. I know some healers may be upset about truth of the matter is is it's still a good healer right now that's very, very Enhancement's rotation has become a lot more fluid and overall the gameplay has [07:03] couple new toys that make them very exciting. I would say the bottom line is this, Shaman is safe because it brings things groups will always need. You got Bloodlust, good crowd control, interrupts. They become more important [07:16] when the content gets difficult and that's what makes them great, man. This is a class that will always be useful and always welcome and flexible. If you want a main that is good for group content and playing with other people, I [07:28] think Shaman is a sure hit heading into the expansion, no doubt. Moving on next, we have the obvious, we got to talk about Paladin. Paladin has always been one of the safest long-term mains in World of Warcraft history. You have [07:42] three role types with invaluable utility, no matter the spec you're playing. You bring tools to parties and raids that directly save runs. You stabilize your groups and prevent wipes if you know what you're doing. If you [07:54] play selflessly as a paladin, you can single-handedly carry groups all on your own. You have powerful blessing, lay on hands, incredible off heals, battle resurrection, you name it, the paladin has it for a party. Now, paladin [08:10] definitely is not known for being a meta spec though, or even incredibly strong in terms of raw power. We all know their main benefit is that they're easy to terms of role type, and they're invaluable in terms of utility, so [08:24] only that, of course, their defensive capabilities can be really good on the you're doing, but I think paladin is so solid for a safe class to main because this is a class you can main for months on end if you like multiple role types. [08:38] people look to when something goes wrong, and that ability to directly know, whether it be for raiding or mythic plus, it makes them just so awesome and thematic and epic to play in my opinion. With that being said though, [08:52] in terms of individual, the paladin isn't performing the best right now. I will say protection is absolutely meta and it's looking to stay that way heading into midnight, but holy and retribution are definitely being lapped [09:04] by a couple DPS and healers at the moment. Now, of course, this doesn't make them unplayable, it just simply means in terms of raw data and numbers, they're not going to be topping the meters by all means if you're going up [09:16] against someone in terms of equal skill. I feel like paladin overall is always that you'll be invited pretty much no matter what. If you love playing tank, healer, and DPS, it is right up there [09:28] with druid in my opinion in terms of flexibility. If you want a main that rewards game knowledge, incredible group saving potential and utility, and lets you pivot roles without abandoning that said main. Paladin is one of the most [09:41] dependable classes you can play in all of World of Warcraft. Moving on next, finally, we have the Evoker. Now, this is a class that has three different role, I guess, types being DPS, healer, and support. Augmentation is the only [09:54] spec in the game with a support type role where it's all about buffing allies that though, Augmentation is in an incredible spot. So, there could be another Augmentation meta on our hands. So, if you like Augmentation as a spec, [10:09] Evoker makes this list hands down. You're also one of the few classes in and overall the class is relatively straightforward to pick up, I would say, except for Preservation. In terms of grading, I got to say the power ceiling [10:22] for Evoker is very volatile and can hit spikes of being meta across the board, Devastation, or Augmentation. But, there have been times where, you know, all days and they do not perform well. We've seen entire expansions dominated by [10:37] Augmentation, healing meters destroyed by Preservation, and even Devastation would say Evoker has really good role flexibility if you care about playing multiple role types, but one area I seem to worry about with them is solo [10:51] content, whether it be for delves or prey, because there are some other this sort of thing and I don't think Evoker is one of them. When it comes to each spec individually, you got to know Augmentation is crushing it right now. [11:03] this spec, but if you've ever played Evoker and you're interested in playing you know, have them deal more damage and support, this is a great class for you. Not only that, you have solid high skill curve healer with Preservation and an [11:17] incredible burst damage potential DPS with Devastation right now. All of them are really good, but by far the standout has got to be Augmentation. I would say, they're safe because you have good [11:30] something other than DPS, you're always welcome in terms of group play, and if you're like a class that can hit some incredible ceilings and potentially dominate the meta, Evoker can absolutely be for you. Moving on next, we have a [11:42] couple honorable mentions that I got to bring up quickly in this video. Firstly, we got to talk about Demon Hunter. I think Demon Hunter just barely missed matter is is because I think Vengeance is doing a lot of the heavy lifting [11:56] Devourer is performing pretty well in terms of a caster DPS, and yes, it's be a little too straightforward for some people just picking it up. You still Brand, solid mobility, and very smooth and simple gameplay, but if you're not [12:11] Demon Hunter can definitely be overlooked compared to some other specs time. So, if the numbers don't line up well for Demon Hunter on a DPS Vengeance, you're going to run into a problem. Not only that, we do have to [12:26] mention the next honorable mention, which is Mage. In terms of overall performance and standpoint, Mage is one of the strongest classes in the game right now. Arcane and Frost in particular feel very solid heading into [12:38] Midnight, and if I'm being honest, the reason Mage lands here instead of the main list is mostly due to the Fire Mage being pretty poor right now in terms of numbers, and gameplay-wise, it falls pretty flat. Not only that, if you're [12:51] going to be locked into one single role being DPS, all three of them got to be at least performing well, and I think that's why we put Warlock up there instead. Now that being said though, if you enjoy purely ranged DPS, Mage is [13:03] still a great class to play overall, and it's dominating with Arcane and Frost at the moment. But God forbid those specs get nerfed, Mage is going to be in a pretty decent amount of trouble.
