[0:00] So, you want to become a YouTuber? Well, [0:02] you came to the right place. In this [0:04] video, I'm going to be showing you how [0:05] to be a YouTuber at every budget and [0:07] exactly what you'll need to do and what [0:09] websites to use. Hopefully, it helps. [0:11] There will also be timestamps below if [0:12] you want to skip to certain budgets if [0:14] you have a specific want in mind. Let's [0:16] get into it. First, let's go over the 0 [0:19] to, let's say, $300 range. This is for [0:23] people who are just starting out. I [0:24] would really recommend that you start [0:26] out in this range when becoming a [0:29] VTuber. mostly because first of all, you [0:31] want to figure out whether or not you [0:32] have a passion for it and if you even [0:34] actually like streaming at all. Period. [0:36] When starting out V tubing, you have a [0:38] couple of choices, especially on a [0:40] budget. You can be a free 3D model, you [0:43] can be a PNG tuber, or you can even get [0:46] pre-made or customizable models online. [0:49] The first one we'll be going over is a [0:51] completely free option. This is called [0:52] Void Studio. It's a software that allows [0:55] you to make a completely free 3D model [0:57] by customizing and choosing pre-made [0:59] assets that are free on the software. [1:01] It's pretty great for starting out. I [1:03] personally have never used it, but I've [1:04] only heard good things and I've seen [1:06] many cool models come out of it. Another [1:08] good option is becoming a PNG tuber [1:10] where rather than a full model, you have [1:12] a 2D piece of art where you get a [1:15] version that's talking and not talking. [1:16] There's a website called VGEN which is [1:18] actually a great website to get many of [1:20] your assets from. Uh, and if you just [1:21] look up PNG Tuber, you can see all the [1:23] options here. You have a lot to choose [1:25] from, so you can get pretty creative [1:26] with it and get your OC made. The third [1:28] option, which is a bit higher in the [1:30] budget, around the $100 to $300 mark, [1:33] and this is actually the one that I [1:34] recommend, is you can get a customizable [1:37] VTuber. Now, Suika, who is mutual of [1:39] mine, has made an amazing one, which you [1:42] probably have heard of because so many [1:44] YouTubers are using this, but there are [1:46] so many customizations to choose from. [1:48] all sorts of hair types, eyes, outfits. [1:52] It's amazing. This is probably the most [1:54] popular customizable model at the [1:56] moment. However, there are so many [1:58] others to choose from by amazing [2:00] artists. This one comes fully created [2:03] and rigged. It's just plug-andplay. You [2:05] put it into V Studio and you're good to [2:06] go. Here's another one I wanted to [2:08] showcase. This appears to be a [2:09] androgynous or maybe male model. I'm not [2:11] 100% sure because I just found this, but [2:13] there are also male versions out there [2:15] for those of you who want to become a [2:17] male VTuber. Pretty cool customizations [2:19] overall. Very, very cool. A third option [2:21] is there's this website called Booth [2:23] where people will actually create and [2:26] release pre-made models of their own. [2:28] These ones are not usually customizable, [2:31] however some of them might be. Oh, [2:33] there's model. Yeah, you can just come [2:34] on here, search for male VTuber, female [2:36] VTuber, and there are many pre-made [2:38] models that are just completely ready to [2:39] go, plugandplay. It's pretty awesome, [2:41] actually. I would really recommend this [2:43] if you don't have a specific design in [2:44] mind, really. Next, let's get into the [2:46] mid-range. We'll say this is around 300 [2:49] to 5,000. I know that seems like a big [2:51] budget, but it really just depends on [2:53] what you as the creator want because [2:55] when it comes to VTuber models, you can [2:57] be as creative as you want, but the more [2:59] creative that you get, usually the price [3:01] will increase to reflect that. Now, [3:02] here's where we come back to VGEN, the [3:04] site that I recommended earlier. Here [3:06] you can see there's a bunch of things [3:07] where you can get Vtuber models, Vtuber [3:08] art, and Vtuber rigging. When a model is [3:10] made, it needs to be drawn and then [3:12] rigged. or if it's 3D, it needs to be [3:14] created in mesh and then drawn on and [3:17] then rigged or well it needs to be [3:18] textured rather. Now again, VGEN is a [3:21] really great site for starters. Models [3:23] can range anywhere from I would say $200 [3:27] to $5,000 for the art. Again, I know [3:30] that sounds crazy, but it depends on [3:32] what you as a creator want. [music] For [3:33] example, my model cost around $10,000. [3:37] But before you freak out, the reason why [3:39] my model costs so much is because I see [3:42] out a very specific artist who is in [3:44] high demand and also a very specific [3:46] rigger who is in high demand. And on top [3:48] of that, I didn't ask for just one [3:50] toggle. I have many, many toggles, [3:53] [music] different outfits, different [3:54] hairstyles, different like everything [3:58] faces, and like all this crazy stuff [4:00] that my model can do. most models don't [4:03] need. And also, you can see my tracking [4:06] is very very like it. It almost looks [4:08] like I'm 3D. Uh, [4:12] you see what I mean? This is like what [4:14] the top of the top gets you, but most [4:17] people honestly don't [music] need it. [4:18] The reality with Vtubing is you don't [4:21] need the best stuff to perform well. You [4:23] just need to be entertaining. I got this [4:25] because my amazing community helped me [4:27] and supported me, and this was my way to [4:29] thank them. I also wanted to show you [4:31] guys some nice, pretty high quality 3D [4:34] models. Uh, I have a couple artists. [4:36] This is Janomu, Jay Jenomu. They [4:38] actually made my first ever 3D model [4:40] back when I started out Vubing in around [4:42] 2020, 2021. I can't remember exactly [4:45] when, but they've made a a bunch of [4:47] very, very amazing uh 3D models. Here's [4:49] another one, Mari. Uh, they have worked [4:52] with actually many, many big creators. [4:54] And again, this is not exactly a budget [4:56] friendly model. They're probably going [4:57] to cost a lot more, but usually 3D [5:00] models tend to cost a bit [music] less [5:02] than 2D models. Not because they're [5:04] easier, per se, but there's usually less [5:06] layering because it's 3D mesh, but [5:08] again, it depends on who. And of course, [5:10] you can search on VGEN for 3D models. [5:13] There are also many 3D models to choose [5:15] from on Booth as well. And yeah, there's [5:17] lots of options if you just know where [5:19] to look and put in the time and [5:21] research. Lastly, I will cover the let's [5:24] say 5,000 plus. Now, this is for the [5:27] oilers out there, the the people who [5:29] just want to get the best of the best, [5:31] crazy high quality. Now, this is just [5:34] one example that I'm showing you, but [5:36] there are artists who are in high [5:37] demand, obviously, because their work is [5:39] amazing. Here's one artist, Camo Chiru. [5:41] They are an amazing VTuber model artist. [5:43] They have worked with many, many people. [5:45] They have a crazy art style and they are [5:49] amazing. However, this is not a budget [5:51] friendly model. If you work with them, I [5:53] I won't say their prices because it [5:55] depends on the complexity, but their [5:57] base prices themselves are pretty high [5:59] compared to others, but that's because [6:01] you're getting something that's in high [6:03] demand, and their art style is very [6:05] unique and amazing, and many people want [6:07] it. With price comes demand type thing. [6:09] Now, with the rigger, this is just one [6:10] example. This is actually my rigger, the [6:12] person who rigged my current model that [6:13] I'm using, Koma. [music] [6:15] As you can see, their rigging is [6:17] insanely insanely good. This is a 2D [6:20] model we're looking at right now. But [6:22] look, it looks so 3D. That's because he [6:24] puts countless hours [music] and works [6:27] so hard and actually has gotten awards [6:29] from Live 2D for his work. But of [6:31] course, this is going to cost you more [6:33] than the average rig. And that's because [6:35] you're getting a higher quality product. [6:37] It's like any other job. You get what [6:39] you pay for. You know what I mean? And [6:40] that isn't to take away from other [6:42] people. There are many upandcoming [6:43] riggers that you can choose from, and [6:44] there are many artists that you can [6:46] choose from. I'm just showing you two [6:47] examples just to show you what you can [6:49] get if you really want and have the [6:51] budget for it. You might be wondering [6:53] how come some Vtuber models are so [6:55] expensive. Well, this is actually very [6:56] simple. Getting a VTuber model is not as [6:58] simple as just drawing a thing and it [7:00] moves. When creating a VTuber model, an [7:03] artist [music] has to draw your entire [7:04] model, right? They have to also draw all [7:06] of the assets for it, the toggles that [7:08] you want and the outfits. And then they [7:10] [music] have to cut up the to the model [7:13] because it's not just a flat like PNG. [7:15] They have to cut it up to prepare it for [7:17] the rigger who rigs it and makes it move [7:20] [music] like this. And then the rigger [7:22] has to rig every little part of your [7:24] body, every little layer. And [music] [7:26] that takes many, many, many, many, many [7:29] months depending on how complex your [7:31] model is. My model, for example, took [7:33] over 2 years to make between the art and [7:36] then the rig and then testing it and [7:38] fixing bugs. It's a long process and [7:40] that's why it can get so expensive. But [7:42] that does not mean that there are not [7:44] budget friendly options [music] out [7:45] there. You just have to look. As for [7:47] what software that you'll need, it [7:49] depends on if you want to be 3D, 2D, or [7:51] a PNG tuber. If you want to be 3D, I [7:53] would recommend Warudo, which is on [7:55] Steam. If you want to be 2D, I would [7:57] recommend VTube Studio, which is [7:59] actually on Steam as well. And then if [8:00] you want to be a PNG tuber, I would [8:02] recommend Discord Reactive or Fugite [8:05] Tech, whichever you would prefer, cuz [8:06] that's just a browser source that you [8:08] put on your OBS. Something to mention [8:10] for 2D models on V Studio specifically [8:13] is there's actually different qualities [8:15] of tracking that you can get for your [8:16] face and mouth. For example, I'll show [8:18] you a regular version of tracking. This [8:21] is the default tracking that you can get [8:23] for a mouth on V Studio. Normal [8:26] tracking. This is actually my old model. [8:28] Uh, as you can see, it's not very [8:30] precise with [music] how it follows my [8:32] mouth, but you know, it it's it was good [8:34] for the time, and it's totally fine if [8:36] you want to do this starting out. But [8:38] there is this new tracking [music] [8:39] called Vbridger tracking. What it does [8:42] is it uses the infrared sensors and the [8:44] front camera on iPhones 10 and above [8:47] iPhone X and it enables you to do very [8:50] specific mouth movements like see I it's [8:55] very precise as you can see if you like [8:58] like wow hello [9:03] you know what I mean it's very precise [9:05] this is called vbrger rigging rigging it [9:07] usually cost a bit more and [music] you [9:11] Well, understandably so because it's [9:12] better, but it's totally optional. You [9:14] don't need it, especially if you're just [9:16] starting out. [music] In the future, [9:17] though, if you upgrade your model or get [9:19] a new one, I really recommend looking [9:21] into it. The two ways that you can get [9:23] this rigging is with two apps on Steam. [9:26] One is called Vridger, which is the, you [9:28] know, Verger rigging. Works with [9:30] Vridger. There's another app called [9:32] Vitamins, which is a Japanese version [9:34] that's also free. That's the one that I [9:36] use. just personal preference, but [9:38] whatever your rigger is more comfortable [9:40] rigging for is probably your best bet. [9:42] Hopefully, this helps you get started on [9:44] your VTuber journey. If you have any [9:45] questions, please feel free to come to [9:47] my streams at twitch.tv/sens [9:49] or leave a comment below and I'll try to [9:51] get to it as soon as possible. Good luck [9:53] being a VTuber. Welcome to hell.
