# I Ran RFK 50 Times for Gold – Was It Worth It?

> Source: [I Ran RFK 50 Times for Gold – Was It Worth It?](https://youtube.com/watch?v=j-rEVSqygkc)

## Summary

A World of Warcraft player runs Razorfen Kraul (RFK) 50 times to farm transmog items for gold, documenting the route, loot, and total value. Despite a potential 28k gold haul, the video highlights the slow and speculative nature of transmog farming, where most items may never sell.

### Key Points

- **Introduction to RFK Farming** [00:03] — RFK is a popular dungeon for transmog farmers due to rare patterns like Rich Purple Silk Pattern worth hundreds of thousands of gold.
- **Optimal Route** [00:45] — Take the first right, kill all mobs, and check three chest spawn locations (near the boss, beside the boss, and one other).
- **Using Scroll of Unlocking** [01:12] — Inscription crafters can make scrolls to open chests; they are cheap and available on the auction house.
- **First Loot: Guardian Blade** [01:51] — Guardian Blade drops, a blue weapon with 800 gold sale average.
- **Sword of Decay Found** [02:18] — A blue item with 33k gold sale average but a low sell rate, highlighting the market uncertainty.
- **Testing Chest Theory** [03:07] — After finding a chest, the player pushes further to test if a second chest spawns; theory disproven as chests appear randomly.
- **Sorting Loot** [04:22] — Keep items with unique appearance or decent sell rate; vendored useless items.
- **Blue Items Evaluation** [05:18] — Sword of Decay, Avenger's Armor, and other blues are kept despite low sell rates because they are unique appearances.
- **Total Value After 50 Runs** [06:16] — Total potential value is 28,000 gold after 100 minutes, but not all items will sell.
- **Selling Strategy** [07:11] — Use cross-realm sellers to list items at sale average or higher; expect slow sales.

### Conclusion

Transmog farming in RFK can yield valuable items, but real gold per hour is highly variable and patience is key as most items take time to sell.

## Transcript

see if I can get any loot of value. This dungeon is a really popular farming place for transmog farmers and I was like, why shouldn't I just give it a something good. And in here, you can for example drop the Rich Purple Silk
Pattern, which is insanely expensive. However, it is of course a really rare actually buy. I guess it's mostly collectors buying it to fill out their professions, but it is worth hundreds of thousands of gold at least and I will be
able to sell it for that pretty easily if we get it, but it's of course really lucky enough to find something of value. A run of this dungeon for me takes about 2 minutes. I don't run the full dungeon, so I'm going to show you right now how I
run it. Basically, you just take the first right and you go ahead here, you kill all of the mobs and it's very important that you look out for the right here. They have set spawn locations. I usually go kill this boss.
but I guess it's some extra mobs that location is right here besides this boss. One is here. So that is like the three chest locations that you have to look out for if you do this run in the
same way that I do it. I also recommend you to have inscription running this or any other type of profession that can open chests for you. I don't know, I think blacksmithing can do it with keys as well or if you're a rogue, but it's
druid. So that is probably what you're doing already, but I just use this scroll of unlocking. It is like from inscription, really easy to get. You can either craft them at like skill level one in BFA or you can just buy them off
the auction house for a few gold each. So highly recommend you to get those, very important. We actually got a self a blue weapon here, Guardian Blade, but yeah, it is not the best. [music] It's 800 gold sale average, so that is not
the best, but at least it's something. Okay, so we were apparently already locked after 16 minutes, so it's going faster than 2 minutes per run, pretty much faster actually for me then. I'm quite fast though. I have a movement
speed of like 216% it looks like, so I'm pretty fast cuz I have like a basic didn't really end up with anything particularly good. The loot appears to be saying 33k here, but basically we vendor most of the stuff away cuz it's
for the reset and we go again for another 10 runs. Uh what's it called? Ooh, sword of decay. Uh it's 30303
or 003 sell rate. Well, at least it's a blue item, but I don't know if it's unique. Probably not, right? Okay, so we are now onto our third reset. So, when we are done with these 10 runs, we have done 30 runs. So, basically 30 runs left
and we're starting right now. Let's hope for something good to drop now.
Avenger's armor, not too bad, but the sell rate isn't that good, but we will check later if it's a unique appearance cuz then it's pretty decent, I would say. Okay, so I'm going to test a new theory now since this is the first chest
that appeared in the dungeon so far. We're going to push a little bit further and see if we can actually find another chest over here. Like, I think it should be one more spawning then. But, now I just entered a [ __ ] trap. Ay ay ay
ay. I think it's going to be like over here to the left now then. Maybe guaranteed. Here it is. So, maybe that is how it is. If it's only one chest in running here for this chest. Okay, that theory was not true cuz now the chest is
somewhere else then. There is a chest now, so it maybe can spawn over here as well. Or it's just random. Maybe it's not based on like how many has spawned previously or anything. So, another blue, but uh very low price. Okay, it's
now time for the last 10 runs to see if we get something nice. So, let's quickly do them and then do a summary to see what we have and what we will keep and what we have and what we will keep and sell.
it's time to put everything together that we have gotten and sort everything, and I will show you the total value and what good items we have found and also what items I'm planning to at least post up on the auction house. Okay, so now I
have removed all of the useless items that I definitely will not be posting, and I have left the items that I most likely will be posting on my characters what I'm going to try to do with these items is put them on like my cross realm
sellers, which basically means that I have sellers on different realms. So, I will try to sell them that way and see if they can sell and if I can get some income from them. What items I do keep is usually the items that has a unique
appearance and a decent sell rate or pretty much all unique appearances or items with a decent sell rate. I don't really care about the sale average value, even though of course I probably won't be selling this weapon for like
10k, but it's still fun to keep some of your items and try to sell them. So, I tend to like go for a decent sell rate or unique items when I farm {quote} {unquote} transmog or like collectibles. And looking at the special items here, I
guess that we got is the blue items, the rare ones. We got sword of decay. This one is not rare, but I tend to keep the blue items for fun, even though the sell rate is horrible on this and also it's not unique appearance. So, I don't know
if this will ever ever sell, but I'm keeping all the blue items just for fun sell. But, this one had a sale average of 9.7k. Here we have the Avengers but at least it's only sharing with one item and that's 7.4k. Then we have these
legs, unique item, probably not so rare and not sought after cuz only very low sell rate as well, but I'm keeping it. Then we have the kill maim, also unique, very cheap, 379 gold sell average, and then we have guardian blade, which also
is only 1,000 gold, but it is unique. So, those are kind of the items that is, have all of these like green items. They're very cheap, but I have a decent They're very cheap, but I have a decent sell rate and or are unique. So, I will
ever sell. Some of them, as you can see, is very low priced, 67 gold, but I will do it for the fun and see if I can ever sell them. What our total value is of our entire bag, excluding the stuff that is like the consumables and stuff that
is like the consumables and stuff that we have, is about 28,000 gold, and that is pretty much after spending 100 minutes. After 100 minutes, we made, if we were to sell everything for the sale average, it would be about 28,000
[music] gold. But, it's most likely going to sell for more than the sale average. However, all of it will most likely never sell. It's always farms, like how much gold did we actually make. So far, pretty much zero
since we haven't sold anything. But, if we sell it, I think we can get some gold out of it, and I tend to sell items like that I flip for way more than sale average and buy it cheaper than sale average. So, if I treat these items the
same, which I will, they will sell for way more, but most or some of them will to sell these kind of items. But, when something sell, you can be lucky and get a good price for [music] it. That is kind of how I think selling these items,
and it's very hard to value them, and I don't like to fake value my items at insane prices. I just like take it as it is, take it at a sale average, and then if I get more for it, that's good. I won't be selling it for less than sale
average, at least. But, [music] that is kind of how my thought process of transmog items is. If you like this kind of video and you want to see me do any more kind of farms like this where I try some other dungeons for like 50 runs or
whatever. Any ideas on how I can improve it. If you like it, please let me know by just liking the video or leave a comment. Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video. Goodbye.
