[00:02] of the Dragon. I finally put all of the pieces of Helena's puzzle together. I'm and this is a breakdown of House of the Dragon season 3, episode 7. Let's go all the deeper meanings, the changes from the book, and details that you
[00:16] events that still lie ahead in the book Fire and Blood, we will save all of that the end of this video. The opening tapestry titles have been updated again. We see two soldiers of the blacks dead followed by a flip side of the tapestry
[00:30] showing two greens dead. We realize that this is all from the butcher's ball last episode. These dudes are surrounding Christian Cole with an arrow in his face. Seven strands stem out from him as he really died in the light of the
[00:42] seven. Those vines grow into roots that stop at the Targaryen sigil. I think invades King's Landing and the fracturing that Orbin High Tower is doing to Rea's forces. We open this episode in Helena's dream. Maybe this
[00:55] whole series is within Helena's dream. She wears this stunning new blue dress. dragon dream fire. Her hair is also braided to form a kind of tiara. In this courtyard outside the Red Keep and finds this gray mare. This same horse will be
[01:11] like it's going to be a horse that she hopes to escape upon with her two open as a warm light fills the courtyard. Is this morning sunlight? Is it fire? Is it the light of a sun that's about to be eclipsed? Before we can see
[01:25] what it is, she's woken up by someone calling her name and we see Raineira staring down at us as Helena awakens. Not a fun image to wake up to. Based on this was just a day nap that Helena was taking. And the queen was just not
[01:37] back up. Similar to the way you're not supposed to awaken a sleepwalker, awaken a dragon dreamer either. Rea says that she doesn't expect to hear from Allison until then trails off because yeah, she doesn't expect to hear from
[01:51] Allison until Helena's brother Aemon is dead. Rea asks her if Aean ever asked her to fly with him. And Helena confirms yes, but says that when she was a girl, she wanted to fly. But now when she's with Dreamfire, it's too much. By too
[02:04] much, does she mean her visions are too much whenever she touches her dragon? Is the too much specifically the dream she has of her a top dream fire at the end vision about some horrible fate that could befall her if she chooses to ride
[02:17] Dreamfire as that vision seems to begin to show. Rene speaks to Helena as a sister, remembering how our father, meaning their shared father of Vizeris, Dread either, having ridden the dragon once in his life and then never again.
[02:30] By the way, Valyrian's writer before Vizeris was Ara, the daughter of Raina, the previous rider of Dreamfire that was mentioned by Alice Rivers and Aean last episode. Helena says in response, >> "He did not wish to be changed." These
[02:42] them, giving these humans a grander state of importance than they should actually have. The idea of people being changed by their higher status and the life is an interesting theme that courses throughout this episode. Rea
[02:55] tells Helena that she's a Targaryen dreamer like Denise dreamer who foresaw does see flashes, but she only reports seeing a gray mare in this case. And none of the specific people that Raine hopes to learn its prophecy like her
[03:08] progress or Orman High Tower's future at Tumbleton. It's because Helena's puzzles don't really come out that specific way. In this scene, Helena appears to be embroidering a new design. It actually looks like two ships. So maybe there are
[03:22] voyages ahead for both of the women in this scene. And specifically for Helena, anywhere in Fire and Blood. And based on her dreams later in this episode, maybe winter. I am just going to keep theorizing ways for our beloved bug girl
[03:36] Helena to have a happy ending on this HBO adaptation. But the gay mare is an media, the grey mare symbolizes feminine intuition. In some ways, this whole HBO examination of feminine intuition.
[03:50] Conqueror's Valyrian steel sword Blackfire and hurts himself. And surprise, this vision of his mother, Allison, appears. The fact that she an early clue that this is actually Alice. I don't think we ever see Alice
[04:03] always just there suddenly with every line of this exchange. It's increasingly clear that all is not to be trusted. Allison is throwing herself at Aean. And throughout the motions of them on the bed as if it's all kind of happening at
[04:17] effect where they mix Olivia Cook's audio with Gail Rankin's audio. >> In this moment, I will give you a son. Yes, this solution has gone too far for Aund as the idea of Allison giving him a son
[04:31] would also be to give him a son and a brother and thus an odd challenger to his claim to the throne. Aeand wishes he were an only child and as the illusion Alice asks >> what have you seen?
[04:43] >> So from this line it would seem that Alice was not using Allison as a disguise to try to deceive Aean but rather Aid was just in some kind of hallucinatory state seeing Alice as his mother. The seductive spell that Alice
[04:55] has Aean under using his mommy issues has just gone too far for Aean. And the fact that Aean can seem to see minutes into the future. Is it an effect of the weirwood roots running throughout this room? Is it from Dreamfire's eggs? Or is
[05:07] it just a side effect of Alice Rivers's witchcraft? I think it must be unrelated to Alice because she does not foresee Allison coming to Harrenhal and she doesn't want Allison there. Ammon seeing his mother during the seduction was an
[05:19] interference to Alice River's plans. So maybe it was even a warning from Helena stitching. At this point, the real stars of the show to me are Alice Rivers and ladies speak in riddles for years. Give me double their screen time and half of
[05:32] Misaria and Ol's screen time. Ammon is freaked to look up and see his actual mother wearing the exact same furs that she wore in his vision. This vision is naturally he would just see it as another fantasm. Skipping ahead to the
[05:46] Aean refuses to look at his mother as she follows him through the castle as Adrienne Redfoot got out of King's Landing and made their way through the Riverlands avoiding the wild men. Then he turns and grabs her forcefully as if
[05:58] hands would pass through. And then she creeps him out by saying the exact same words his vision had said. >> You are all I have left. You're all I such a hotty way. >> There's nothing for her there. I'm all
[06:12] she has left. And then after this, outside, Aean meets Sir Adrien Redfort. he's here to assassinate Aean, Aean correctly sizes him up and plays nice to stick Sir Adrien up through the chin. Allison doesn't know that Aean and Alice
[06:27] witness Aean here, including that poor stable boy in episode 6. But I wonder if Sir Adrienne being here to kill him. Another part of Helena's warning, perhaps. And then again, Alice Rivers just appears behind them. We never see
[06:41] back to the river host led by Oscar Tully and Rodrik Dustin marching south. We see the heraldry of House Blackwood, House Tully, House Stark, House Mallister, House Bracken, and Rody the Ru and his toteen Christian Cole's arrow
[06:55] axe. We can't show you because of YouTube, but damn, that shot looked severed head to get really close to camera, which I think it's really just department and prosthetics team can create really lifelike recreations of
[07:09] these actors faces and heads for these severed prosthetics. High Tower reports Blackwater Rush and says that they're a day or two away. Or says of Kristen Cole, >> "So your dim but ambitious Dornish
[07:23] Orman hints of another piece on the board, referring not to Corus, its turns out, but his side chats with Ul the White. Damon flies Caraxis to the Eerie, that this episode even includes this step when Damon could have just
[07:37] area. I think they just really love working with Amanda Colin as Lady Jane Aaron. But also, who is this woman sitting on the eerie throne with Jane? I described in Fire and Blood as Jane's dear companion. And Lady Jane never
[07:51] here. But based on her last name, she would be related to poor Sir Adrien accompanies Alice to Harrenhal this episode and then gets offed by Aean Jane tells Damon >> the villagers gossip of a wild girl in
[08:05] sheeper. >> How dare you? House of the dragon riders. Of course, a nettle is a wild plant that sheds tiny itchy hairs. But yes, book readers know it as the origin of the name Nettles, the dragon rider of
[08:17] this HBO series erased and reassigned the character traits to Raina. It's a huge bummer considering how awesome Nettles is in the text. Nettles, after anyone, even without Valyrian blood, could mount a dragon. But the HBO series
[08:31] possibility. I think they included this line here to shout out that book get the reference would just be perturbed by what we're not getting by Meanwhile, at fair market, Adam and Ba find a huge footprint in a big old turd
[08:45] was kind of waiting for someone to say this. laments that Reineer has sent her away from courts, treating her as a tool, the same word Ormond will use for Ulf. At the end of the episode, Adam asks Baya
[08:58] getting legitimized with a Valarion name. Baya is right to point out that having a name. But for people like Ulf and Adam, it really is about their their servitude in a war that they really have no personal stakes in.
[09:13] Specifically for Adam, he hints that he would want to marry a highborn lady. talking about his brother Allan, whom she smooshed with in episode 6. Before spot Sheepstealer. Yeah, but this season is setting up a conflict between Corus's
[09:27] two sons, the one serving as acting hand of the queen and the dragon seed being same heart. While eating some animal fat, Orman talks about its nutritional >> I do wonder how something so slippery in substance can truly be benign.
[09:41] the tides, who has probably eaten his share of fish and eels. This hostage this is some kind of final meal, a pigeon pie before the executioner's block. But Orman suggested he sees value in the Valarians. He did tell Darren in
[09:55] choice of Corless Valion as her hand. And Orman says that the forces of Drift lord as forfeit. Darren out loud disputes Orman's plan as unhelpful for arriving to Tumbleton. But in truth, Orund is having side chats with Ulal
[10:09] this time, offering him drift mark and high tide. So really none of this appeal to Corless is being done in full faith. Orman switches to the fruit on the table vegetarians. This is the second time the aisle of Nth has come up on this series.
[10:22] Of course, the island off the coast of Saros is the home to the butterfly and fixated on this season. In the world of ice and fire, the nthy are described as pacifists who make music rather than war and kill nothing, eating fruit and never
[10:35] flesh. They believe butterflies are the messengers of the Lord of harmony and people. So really, when it comes to Helena's butterfly of Nth this season, pacifism and wanting to use her dragon dreams not to wage war, but to bring
[10:48] she told the green soldiers on the battlements this, >> Yeah, she was referring to the culture of Nth in that line. And she didn't want might have eaten that soup if it was just vegetable broth. This whole worldly
[11:02] Orund asking the Lord of the Tides why he backs the brutish dragon riders who devour their own. Something Ormond brings up after referencing Corus' dead Corless, the whole tradition of dragon riding might be something that would be
[11:15] world anyway. But for him, it really is just the love that he had for Rainees family. Darren and Wayne are unable to the disorder within Rea's ranks. And they believe that he's sending them
[11:28] >> The dream somehow of covering themselves in everlasting glory, somehow transcending humanity's common fate. >> Yeah. Another way of looking at the show obsessed with their legacies and practical thinkers just trying to

[13:52] not sure. One appears to be wearing older, more discolored armor. Laris delicacies of the world beyond Westeros. >> They say it is the strength of the sun
[14:04] sweetness in the grave. >> Of course, the sun wouldn't be any stronger in Volantis, but Laris is really trying to appease Thailand, who we know hates the hot weather in cities like Volantis and Braavos. Throughout
[14:16] Essos, they find these low folk fleeing a pro- Reeneer army of the mutants of This trivia point came up in Game of Thrones season 2 when Tywin Lannister at Harrenhal. >> And who are the lords of Maiden Pool?
[14:30] >> House Mutton, my lord. >> Then what is their sigil? A red salmon. >> Like Corass at Tumbleton, Allison now feels like a captive with no appetite as her hosts chow down. Alice Rivers asks how Allison made this trip up north. If

[15:50] pretty interesting. It kind of sounds like nothing from the remain jawati inspired suite of this franchise. But we are seeing some truly villainous treachery here. A rack focus to some poisonous berries. I think it might be
[16:03] the blue nightshade flower. This is the plant that Helena warned her daughter Jiara about in the Red Keep garden. And I think it's also the blue leaves that the clock. The framing of the shot reminds me of Walter White noticing the
[16:16] lily of the valley in the iconic shot of Breaking Bad season 4. Tom Tangle Tongue cleaner at Rook's Rest earlier this season. He reveals that it was the knowledge that Thailand and only Thailand possesses about the relocated
[16:29] crown's gold that has resulted in Lord Mutin hunting him down throughout the Crownlands. Aegon refuses to be a fugitive and decides to stay in the area where he thinks Sunfire rests. >> I'll make my stand here and be buried as
[16:41] >> Yeah, he's got this curious look on his face throughout the episode that he still alive who will come rescue him. Aegon allows Laris to leave. It >> would be my duty to see that King Aegon is remembered. His heroic last hours
[16:54] immortalized through story and song. >> I see this as a metal line that foreshadows Aegon's redemption arc. The historical text of Iron and Blood is Aegon's journey than it is of Reineer's. And it might just be because Aegon has a
[17:07] much better PR game. This episode hits us with a completely unexpected dance of not at all described in Fire and Blood. Caraxis catches up with Sheepsteeler and uses its long bloodworm neck to bite Sheep Steeler and force him to land. And
[17:20] now we get another roar off between old Underbite and old deviated septum. jumps high and stomps causing Damon to lose his footing. And both dragons
[17:34] threateningly allow the fire to glow in the back of their throats. Raina looks awesome here. Kind of like act two, Alphaba, fully embracing her wild woman reputation, draping herself in sheep skins from the livestock she and sheep
[17:46] she's cool, but she's still not nettles and she never will be. Raina hopes to And Damon offers to team up with his daughter to bring down Vagar together. Damon explains how he had no dragon when he was young and his mother died in
[17:59] point Vizeris sunk into sadness. He's really referring to his mother Alyssa, the child of King Jiharis the first and Queen Alisan. Alyssa with her brother Balon bore Vizeris and Damon but then died in childbirth for the next kid.
[18:12] believed his father was Balon which would make him a half brother to Vizeris never actually cheated on Alyssa. Alyssa's dragon was Meliss. And Meliss did not go to Damon. It went to Rainees, the queen who never was. Something that
[18:25] wanted Bolyrian the black dread, but instead it went to his brother who only flew this iconic epic dragon once. So Damon as a kid was kind of like what Aemon was when he was a kid. He claimed Caraxis kind of late. And poor deviated
[18:38] Septum Caraxis is a dragon that Damon has always treated like a pet he doesn't moment these second siblings almost connect over feeling unaccomplished. Then Caraxis whistles to alert two more dragons in the sky.
[18:52] Cyrax written by Raineira and Sea Smoke written by Adam. Adam goes running after shout at each other between two dragons they're paired with and two other either of them and are probably very confused. This scene was crazy. Please
[19:05] because it's kind of hard to tell all the fun little beats of the melee when you first watch it. Adam catches Raina and drags her back and now Sheepsteeler and Sea Smoke roar at each other. I love how throughout the scene the movements
[19:17] their dragons behind them. Like notice Reineer craning forward to look at Raina. Cyrax is making a similar hunched over pose. Adam right after this looking left past Raina at Sheepsteeler and then Semoke does the same head turn as Rea
[19:31] steps forward toward a kneeling Raina. Cyrax hops forward a little ready to jarus but now Sheepstaler responds to that and lunges at Cyrax and all hell breaks loose. Cyrax blows fire at Sheepsteeler's neck, but all Underbite
[19:43] clamps down on the smaller yellow dragon and thrashes her around. But then Cyrax is smaller and Nimler and is able to get three or four rapid snake bites. And Sea Smoke enters the ring and chomps on Sheepsteeler from the side. And then Sea
[19:55] Ralphie tossing Grover Dill when he's beating the [ __ ] out of Scut Farcus. >> But then Cyrax pinned slashes her claws at Sheepsteeler's neck and smoke hisses
[20:11] out. Now Caraxis, the most battle tested of these four and the only one of the dragons with the rider in the saddle, flies in and tackles Sheepsteeer. Sea Smoke, like Adam, always trying to impress, re-enters and nearly takes out
[20:23] the queen Rea, as well as Adam and Rea. But Rea makes Rea climb with her up onto Cyrax. And I love how in the close-up here, you can see Cyrax's tender wounded while grabbing these harnesses. You know, their hands are like right next to
[20:36] the smoky hot wound. Caraxis and Sea Smoke clamp down on Sheepsteeler to pin the dragon as it roars sadly seeing Raina go. Damon sends Adam and Sea Smoke to escort Reine and Cyrax. But because it's just Coraxis versus Sheepsteeer
[20:49] survive it. And look at the dragon crying here. Just like the wobble of his gullet in the opening shot of the season, now the exposed windpipe in his neck really causes it to flap and distorts the
[21:03] sound. Caraxis gets several solid smoky bites on Sheepsteeler. But remember, tail, and he uses it now to tail whip Coraxis, causing Damon to fall off the saddle. Sheepsteeler limps away while Caraxis lovingly sniffs and nuzzles his
[21:16] rider. Now in the episode, we have this scene with Misaria and Sylvia in the time on the Street of Silk. Sylvie is the madam of mothers where Misaria used to work. Sylvie actress Michelle Bonnard is really beloved by the cast and crew
[21:29] many of the younger actors in the cast. Sylvie can't help but see the phallic symbolism of the Iron Throne. >> 100 sharp little [ __ ] all vying for hear petitions now that the queen has ceased this practice for now. Sylvie
[21:43] looks Mazzaria up and down and says that her old coworker has changed. Just like Helena said the dragons change Rara and says Mizaria has draped herself in silk thought she could use Sylvia as a tool
[21:56] uprising. Sylvia just resents being used this way by this sex worker hypocritically presenting herself as a noble. So we have Sylvie, Bala, and Ul. All operators used as tools by Reara and her council tired of being exploited.
[22:09] Sylvie says that these highborns will always see Misaria as such. In the walls of the highborn, a [ __ ] will always and ever remain a [ __ ] rekindle her sexual relationship with Reineer. In the later scene, Allison
[22:23] brings in spiced wine for her son and sets these goblets beside Aean's sword, Blackfire, and Aegon the Conqueror's dagger. Aean confesses this to his >> I know. >> This recalls season 2, episode 5, when
[22:36] happened at Rook's rest after seeing Amon with Aegon's dagger. Now her son harder for the mother to make her bad boy drink this poison. So we cut from this deadly moment to this skull. This is of course the boiled down skull of
[22:50] the goat herder from the veil whom Damon said was Sheepsteelers's writer who Rea's shoulder, causing the queen to jump. Remember in episode 3 of the season, we saw how Reara has continued to see the ghost of Jace around the Red
[23:03] Elinda stay for this argument with her husband, Damon. All right, stay true. history. I think Reero wants to keep Damon honest with Alinda chaperoning the Damon to stay as he tries to apologize
[23:18] sisters Rea and Ba reunite. Rea apologizes to her sister, telling her would have been queen had Jace not died in the gullet. But Baya says, >> "You will begin on you." >> Hm. Now detached from Sheepstaler, I do
[23:31] wonder what Raina's destiny holds. More on this in the spoiler dungeon. Allan receives a box containing what Orand cut off earlier, the finger of the hand, the hand of his father, Corass, with Corus's Valarion ring on it. I do wonder why
[23:44] dublet at the end of episode 6, Rea anything to follow up on what that riddle meant. Alice Rivers feeds her owl and we hear frogs riveting in her maester lab. Aean collapses poisoned,
[23:57] but he's probably not dead. I assume Alice has some herbal remedy. Is Allison idea based on the book. Everything that's happening with Allison here at Harrenhal and all the spooky [ __ ] with Alice Rivers and Aean. None of this
[24:09] completely in the dark here. But then we get this awesome cryptic dream from giving birth and then this baby, I assume Mor is immediately handed off to this Queen's Guard Knight. Then we see Helena in riding leathers as she sits
[24:22] the saddle of Dreamfire, the blue she roaring in the dragon pit as this mob keep behind them in the distance. She orders Draarus and the dragon torches the mob. And now in this pasture by a stony structure, Helena feeds chickens
[24:37] with two children. I'm assuming Jiara and Mor. Maybe Jihara in a ghostly version of Jiharis. But no, I think it's Jahara and Mor. And then we see the gray mare from earlier grazing in the background. And then a solar eclipse
[24:50] forms in the sky as snow falls and the winds of winter gust in. It's kind of like Sarah Connor's nightmare in T2 when she's at the fence with the nukes away by the thermal blast. So, this dream of feeding chickens reminds us of
[25:03] back in episode 4 this season. >> I think I might like to keep chickens. Weirwood tree in episode 8 of last season. A vision shared by Helena,
[25:15] Helena now sees what Aegon the Conqueror saw, the song of ice and fire when she spoke of wanting to see the moon in episode two of this season. Yet, she was cycle that she was skipping due to her pregnancy. But also now we see she's
[25:28] trying to make sense of this solar eclipse in her visions where the moon earth. As for this shot of her on dream fire in the dragon pit, I mean, part of followed Aean's call to join him in battle. What would it look like if she
[25:41] were to ever ride Dream Fire? But really, for what's going on in the shot have to save this for the spoiler dungeon. We see Reira throwing the skull in the fire. Coming in hot from Marvel Studios IN 2028.
[25:55] House Mutin in their final stand. Aegon's reaction here is curious at As if he wasn't expecting things to go down quite this way. Yeah. Doesn't he vision of Sunfire coming to him in his moment of need? He seems to share some
[26:10] he knew was still alive when he took its scale, a scale that was too healthy. And I think in this moment, he realizes he just needs to manifest it with his own dragon-like confidence. Kind of like what Vizeris told Rara in season 1 to
[26:23] conjure the illusion in this firelight shadow to intimidate your enemies. It all kind of plays out like Cub Simba roaring at the hyenas and the Lion King as a greater threat appears behind him. These mutants all back away as they hear
[26:35] treeine behind him. Aegon's speech specifically mentions the seven gods. His anointing by the high septin was one right of passage that Reu was denied. He screams that the stranger WILL TAKE RETRIBUTION. THE WARRIOR'S sword will be
[26:49] judgment upon you. >> FOR NOW YOU SEE ME AS I TRULY AM, and glorious. >> And then Sunfire looking like a truly haggarded zombie lumbers up. >> Sunfire
[27:09] Aegon screaming with mad glee and cackling is honestly one of the most show. And I love how in this fire light, you can see his melted flesh matching love it. Throughout this episode, it's really like dogs who look like their
[27:23] owners. And we go from this fire to a humble campfire in a long awaited ale enjoyed by Ulf the White given by Orand at Ul's campsite overlooking Tumbleton that Ulf is sitting here with the enemy when he should be using Silver Wing
