## Summary

This video tutorial demonstrates how to set up and use a green screen with Streamlabs OBS for live streaming. It covers the necessary supplies, physical setup, and software configuration to achieve a clean chroma key effect.

### Key Points

- **Supplies Needed** [0:17] — You need a green screen (pop-up, backdrop, or green cloth) and proper lighting to evenly light the screen.
- **Physical Setup Tips** [1:08] — Place the green screen as far from you as possible to reduce green spill. Evenly light the screen for easier keying.
- **Adding Chroma Key Filter** [1:42] — In Streamlabs OBS, right-click your camera source, select 'Filters', then add a 'Chroma Key' filter.
- **Similarity Setting** [2:29] — Similarity controls how similar pixels must be to green to be removed. Higher values broaden the range but may remove parts of you.
- **Smoothness Setting** [2:59] — Smoothness controls edge softness. More smoothness can cause loss of detail; adjust carefully.
- **Spill Reduction and Opacity** [3:15] — Spill reduction minimizes green bounce on your skin/hair. Opacity controls transparency of the keyed area.
- **Contrast, Brightness, Gamma** [3:29] — These sliders adjust overall image appearance for fine-tuning.
- **Final Cropping and Resizing** [3:53] — After keying, crop out unwanted areas and resize your video source within the display.

### Conclusion

With proper setup and a few clicks in Streamlabs OBS, you can achieve a clean green screen effect. Experiment with settings to match your lighting and background.

hey all wild free games here helping you
with pretty much everything stream labs
in in today's video I'm gonna show you
how to set up and use the green screen
features through stream labs OBS so that
way by the end of this video you're up
and running let's dive into it now when
it comes to using a green screen during
your streams it's pretty much all done
through software however you do need a
couple of supplies hey number one is
you're obviously going to need a green
screen now you can go super fancy and
get one of those pull outs or pop up
once those are very nice or you can just
get a simple backdrop a green screen
that you can order from Amazon can't get
anything at the moment hey green cloth
from your local art store will work just
as well now you need something to light
that green screen and sometimes having
light in the front isn't sufficient
because you have to have even lighting
across your green screen for a good
keying or a good pool so that way you
look good and clean so you may need
additional lighting as well I'm gonna
put some of my personal suggestions down
in the links below that won't cost you a
lot of money that will get you up and
running now that we got the supplies out
of the way let's set up that green
screen to make you look nice
step one is set your green screen up as
far as way from you as you can you only
have to worry about the outer edge of
you because the rest can be cropped out
the reason you said it far away is to
reduce the amount of spill that happens
from the green screen on your clothing
more about this later when we go into
the software step number two evenly
light your green screen so that way the
software has an easy time keying or
pulling the green out so that way you
look nice and crisp now that we have
your green screen setup in the
background all we gotta do is basically
key and pull it out and to do that open
up your stream lapse OBS and go to your
camera source and right click on it then
go to filters from there you will see
chroma key under chroma key you're gonna
see a bunch of different settings that
basically you're gonna have to play
around with now there's no one correct
answer because everybody's lighting
situations different hairs different
clothes or different skin colors
different backgrounds different which is
why you're gonna have to play around
with it till you really
refine it down okay now if I can give
you one awesome tip I recommend having
you go fullscreen so that when you get a
lot more detail on you and then you can
always resize and crop out what you
don't need but let me go over the
settings here so that way you can see
how it's gonna get you a better
refinement so that way you look clean as
you go through the settings here
similarity essentially means how similar
are the green pixels in the background
that are being pulled if you have
everything evenly lit you're gonna have
a better time getting a cleaner image
because you can set your similarity down
because there's gonna be so much
difference between you and the
foreground and the background being one
color the more right you go on the
slider the more it's gonna broaden the
range for it to pull out pixels but
essentially that means it might start
grabbing things from your skin your hair
or even your clothes or the chair that
you're sitting in smooth this is
essentially that how smooth is the
pixels being pulled out the farther to
your left the more jagged edges it's
gonna have the farther to the right the
smoother everything is going to be but
it's gonna start again pulling you out
again you gotta play with what's gonna
be best for you in your situation key
colors spill reduction essentially is
reducing the amount of green that's
bouncing off your green screen
back onto your hair skin and chair
opacity essentially is how solid or how
transparent the pool is going to be the
last three sliders are contrast
brightness and gamma and these are
essentially overall changes to the image
source that's going to be displayed on
essentially light to dark situations for
adjustments that you may need to
fine-tune within your source that you'll
be posting up here again all of these
sliders here will want to be played with
so that way you get the best image
quality that you possibly can
once you fine-tune all of your green
screen settings all you got to do is
essentially crop out what you don't want
resize you to an easy spot within your
display window and hey you're good to
rock and roll and you're gonna look
fantastic now this was just a simple tip
to get you up and running trust me
there's a lot of advanced techniques to
get you that really clean pool that's
gonna make you look good
but hey that's another video but guess
what you're up in
running on stream Labs OBS and it only
took a few clicks now if you need any
more help from meat or stream labs hey
let us know in the comments below but
until then I'm gonna put a video over
here to the side that's gonna help you
learn more about stream labs OBS so that
way you can be a rockstar and until next
time my name is wild for games helping
you always become bigger and better take
care and of course ease
