[00:02] talking the standard, >> oh, clip your YouTube video into 10 million different short form. >> No, I'm talking how to turn a vlog style short form video into multiple different posts for your short form content. The [00:16] example we're going to use in this video is turning a morning coffee vlog and showing you how to use that same footage from the vlog and use it in multiple different posts. And then at the end, I'll share with you how you can apply [00:28] this same strategy to your industry and your footage. We're doing the morning coffee vlog example because that's the current content that I'm creating on my of the ways that I'm reusing the same footage. Okay. So, for your first post, [00:44] you have the OG idea, the original idea, the final morning coffee vlog video. So, for me, the original video that I create is something like this. is something like this. [Music] [01:31] vibes. It's the edit with some nice aesthetic music. Maybe I'll put some text on screen, but that's usually the first version that I'm creating. Once I post this video, the footage that I get from my original video doesn't just stay [01:44] in my camera roll and expire and I never use it again. No, no, no, no. For the second video, I'm going to do the same exact thing. Same edit, same footage, except this time instead of having aesthetic music in the background, we're [01:57] going to add a voice over. So, here you can see it's a similar edit, except this time the cuts are paced to match my voice over for the tutorial for how to make this coffee. This salted maple iced latte recipe has been my go-to for the [02:11] past few days. I've been loving it. If you're using the Breville Barista Express and you're doing a double shot, I typically weigh out 18 g of beans. Then for your syrup, you're going to weigh out 10 g of any maple syrup that [02:25] you choose. And for the salt, I love using this flaky sea salt. It is perfect. When pulling your shot, try to aim for 36 g of espresso. And then pour aim for 36 g of espresso. And then pour that over 6 oz of your milk of choice [02:38] and give it a mix. It's perfect. Now, the third way that I'm using this the third way that I'm using this footage is again similar edit style, similar cuts, except now for the voice over, I'm going to add a storytelling [02:50] element. This is actually how I've been repurposing again the same footage from my personal Tik Tok over to my business account. It's Modern Millie. So, I made the fun video just for me. Creative joy woo wah wee woo. I don't know what that [03:04] the aesthetic one, and then I send it over to my team and I'll add a voice over storytelling element that has to do with my business. This is where we'll probably add a little bit more fun text to keep it a little more dynamic for my [03:17] way that I am repurposing the same footage. Have you ever wondered how creators go from burnt out and broke to making millions through content? This is Content Creator Thoughts, a new series where I share the raw, real lessons I've [03:30] learned over 5 years as a full-time creator, all while making my morning coffee. The biggest mistake that almost made me quit, how I handle hate made it to the other side even stronger. [03:42] Let's talk about it. No fluff, no guru speak, just the stuff I wish someone told me sooner. With this storytelling format, I'm focusing mostly on the verbal hook and the text hook to try to capture attention in a different way [03:56] posted. Okay, two things. If you're same exact footage for different posts? by that? Yes, you really are going to use the same footage for these posts so [04:10] could have the pacing be different. Or you could just work smarter, not harder, the voiceovers. The audience that saw the original video might be a completely different audience from the second video and the third video. You never know. You [04:24] you're in the beginning stages of being a creator and you're like stuck at that 200 view jail. The more you're posting and testing with the same style of continuously running AB testing where you're like, "Okay, I tried with this [04:38] Now let me try with this storytelling element." You get to run different tests audience. So, I think it's actually a smart way to approach content creation and go through different variations of testing styles with your audience. Now, [04:54] storytelling element and I talk about making sure you're trying to utilize hooks in the best way possible, if you're somebody who struggles with the hook aspect of things, I do have a [05:07] downloadable. It's over a hundred hook prompts that you can use in so many different niches. It's not just one niche. You could scroll through the doc, look at all the hundreds of hook prompts that I have in there, and that could [05:19] to maybe start with the different storytelling element or how to capture if hooks is something that you're struggling with as a content creator, then definitely check out the downloadable. I will link it down below. [05:34] All right, so I feel like we've kind of used up that flow of the first video. morning coffee vlog. We kind of used that same format three different ways again and again. >> No, now we're going to kind of change it [05:48] This is going to be the last one that kind of uses the same edit as our first original video because this time we're just going to do audio only. This is like the ASMR type video and we're just [06:02] going to test to see how that works with the audience. [06:29] format as video number one. Maybe when I go to edit and repost, I'm focusing on like, "Oo, that's a good audio. That's a good one. That's good for ASMR." So, I'm just focusing on those little sound bites that I think would flow well for [06:43] the viewer. For the fifth video, this is probably now we're changing the game. We're not going to use the same flow, same format. We're done with it. Now, we're going to look through all of the footage that we had for the vlog, and [06:55] now we're going to grab little elements of it to create new posts. So, for the fifth video, what I like to do for the morning coffee vlog is screenshot certain moments of my video and then turn it into a carousel on Tik Tok or on [07:10] Instagram. And that's a great way to kind of just show the step by step. I okay, first you're going to weigh out this much of your brown sugar and then voice over talking about how to do something, but now I could screenshot [07:24] those different steps, edit it if I want to edit it in Lightroom and then turn it by step. This is something that I've done before. And again, it's just a smarter, efficient way to repurpose the same footage, turn it into something [07:38] >> And when the mornings are all chilly and you can see your breath and not caring stuff because you love it and are happy it's all the rage and fires and fire. If you're doing like a day in a life video that day, just take a selfie. That could [07:51] be the cover image of your carousel and then screenshot moments of your day from be the rest of the carousel. So you have your selfie, you add text that's like day in the life of a full-time nurse and then you swipe through. You have [08:04] different scenes and you show like, oh, from 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. I did this. From 7 to 4:00 p.m. I did this. So there's so many ways you can adapt that strategy. It doesn't just have to be like a step-by-step tutorial morning vlog. It [08:16] could be any type of content you could turn into a swipe carousel for sure. If sure to give this video a thumbs up. It's a great way to tell YouTube and the yourself will find this video valuable. And if you learn two new things by the [08:30] since it's a free way to support my channel and allows me to continue to create weekly content like this for you. The sixth way that I'm going to reuse my footage is finding any moment that could be like a blooper moment. This is [08:45] something that I've done before where again I was filming but I messed up. That became its own post and that was just an easy way to repurpose that footage. It could be one simple blooper or it could be a compilation of [08:57] bloopers. The seventh way is slightly different of an angle and this is when you can edit and create like awkward moments. This is more not mess ups. Oh no, I was tamping my espresso and I spilled everything. So it's not mess [09:11] up your camera or you're about to talk and you're like this is it and you like mess up. Anything that's like relatable content creator awkwardness or cringe or the stairs and then you have to go back and get the camera. Any relatable [09:26] content creator moment is such a great way to reuse footage from vlogs. Now, this next way to reuse your footage could actually be a bunch in a million different shots you got throughout the day. So, I'll just count this as like [09:40] repurpose video eight and number nine. Cuz for me, what I'll do is I'll create Cuz for me, what I'll do is I'll create one aesthetic 7-second video where I'm stirring my coffee. I get a nice close-up of me stirring my coffee. I [09:54] consider that to be just one 7-second video with like a trending audio, maybe a little word of encouragement or a quote. And then the second way or the next way is again get that aesthetic shot of me pouring the espresso on top [10:07] of the milk, putting my straw in. That's usually a good visual hook, too. So, there's different ways you could repurpose each clip from your vlog and turn them into 7-second videos, which I know these are not guaranteed to go [10:21] viral, but it's simply a great way if you don't have anything in the pipeline ready to post. you have plenty of footage and plenty of ways that you can doing it. So, when I'm going to film, I try to get at least two to three shots [10:36] where I'm like, "Okay, this could be a good 7-second thing on its own." The 10th way that you could reuse again the same footage to a new video is doing like a comparison of other creators versus me. This is a great way to do the [10:51] comparison of like your blooper take and then the final shot. So it could be like that final shot of me stirring the coffee or pouring the espresso and it's like oh other coffee creators are like and then it shows that with like [11:04] aesthetic music and then it cuts and it's like versus me and then it's the stir my coffee and it absolutely failing. So any sort of blooper video that you created and posted again you [11:16] visually as another piece of content to post. All the examples that I went over today are from my experience of what I've been doing on my own personal just be posting there and just practicing as a content creator. I know [11:30] I teach content creators, so I think it's important for me to continue to not just for my business. And so, if for me, some of these don't work for my niche. I do have a way that you could [11:43] apply this strategy to your own industry. And yes, of course, it is going to be using AI. So, you're going to plug in this AI prompt into your own AI generator of choice. It could be chat, GPT, Claude, whatever you use, and [11:57] you're going to say like, I'm a blank creator, and I just filmed a video about da da da da da. It could be your morning vlog, get ready with me, what have you. And then you could say, give me at least 10 creative ways I can repurpose the [12:10] footage from this video into multiple new pieces of content across said platform. Now, you could stop there, or you could add more context. If you were something like this. I want you to know [12:22] that it is totally okay to have each post serve a different purpose. Some posts maybe you created super strategically doing a verbal hook, a you're like, "Okay, this is the one where I'm really trying to go viral. I'm [12:36] trying to get more views." And then the intention behind your next post is not virality, not growth. It could be simply you having fun and creating. And then something to post today. And you just throw spaghetti at the wall, do a [12:50] 7-second video with like a trending audio. It's okay if different posts have different intentions. That is a normal part of content creation. Not every post has to be super strategic all the time. Unless you're doing like a 30-day [13:03] challenge where you're really trying to hone in on strategy and fine-tune what your strategy is going to be, then of course you could really focus on that. video has to go viral. Sometimes it's okay to just post to post. And sometimes [13:16] it's okay to like not post, too. So, you could always take a break or trying to work smarter, not harder. And I hope these videos give you some inspiration for how you could do that. If you got some ideas for how to repurpose or reuse [13:28] your camera roll. Let me know down in the comments below. Not just for me, but let's make that a space for all other creators who are watching this. They ideas, how they could repurpose their videos as well. Thanks so much for [13:41] watching. I will see you in the next one. Follow your joy. Bye one. Follow your joy. Bye bye.
