[00:02] Record your trades daily, review them weekly, reflect on them monthly, refine your plan quarterly, reassess your goals annually, repeat. I call that the five R process, and honestly, that's the whole game. [00:18] Because your edge doesn't come from finding a new strategy. It comes from extracting better feedback from the trades that you already took. Then turning that feedback into smarter decisions every week. Turning that [00:33] decisions every week. Turning that feedback into iterations, into tweaks in which you can make to improve your trading plan, improve your trading strategy. Because traders severely overestimate [00:45] their competence and they underestimate how much feedback they can extract just by reviewing their own trades properly. Like I always say to my students, the data is already there. The best information about your trading [00:59] is your trading. Okay? It's not found in books, it's not found in mentors, it's not found in YouTube videos. It's found in your trading. Because most people either they don't journal at all, or they journal, but [01:12] then they don't bother to review deeply enough to actually improve their edge. Okay? All right, they review their edge, I mean they review their trading results, but they don't take the feedback to improve their edge. And as a [01:26] result, they do the same thing, they get the same results. Okay? So, here's a framework in terms of reviewing your trading performance. You use the dashboard to like just see the numbers at a high level, right? And it's good [01:38] and all that, right? But the journal, this is where you will be able to find the context of the trade. And then the notebook, this is where you turn both into decisions. Turn both the qualitative feedback and [01:51] the quantitative feedback into decisions to improve your trading plan. Okay? So, in this lesson, I'm going to quickly show you the exact notebook template stuff built for you to do your weekly review, monthly review, [02:06] you're basically boring a system that remove guesswork and make improvement automatic. Okay? Like if you do this process, at the end of this period right it's unreasonable that you do not get better. [02:21] Okay? Like it's undeniable basically. So, once again, open your notebook right And then this is where you want to go to your templates and go and find the performance review category. And this is where you will see these four good old [02:36] Once again, your weekly review, your monthly review, your quarterly review, your annual review. All of these templates has a different structure to doing different things within each one [02:49] of these period right here. For example, you don't adjust your trading plan on a weekly review because you don't have enough data. You don't have enough um you don't have a large sample size that tell you that this rule is not working, [03:01] right? So, you might want to adjust your trading plan only after you've done your quarterly review. Okay? Another example is that you don't reassess your annual goals on the monthly review. No, you do it at the end of the year itself, right? [03:13] So, different review templates right here, it will give you different things to do and that encompasses a different structure to it, a different sort of system to review the trades that is taken during that time period. All [03:26] right? So, very simple, I want you to make this a routine. I want you to make Every single week, at the end of the week, go and fill this up. Every single fill this up. And every single quarter, fill this up. Every single annual, every [03:41] single year, at the end of each year, fill this up. Like I said, you want to install these processes into your trading system because that's the only way you can get better. That's the only way you can improve and just continue [03:54] improve continue getting better continue just leveling up in this game of up these templates, you want to keep it honest, keep it simple, right? I'm not asking you to write essays, not asking you to write a story in there. No, just [04:07] keep it simple, point form will do. And most importantly, one period one periodic review means one focus, not 10. So, if I'm reviewing this month [04:19] right here and I found it, okay, next month I want to be doing this to get better at trading. I'm not going to be saying, okay, I'm going to be doing these 10 things to get better next month. No, I'm just going to be focusing [04:31] on one. Okay, what's the one needle mover that allows me to write really just 10x my trading results next month. Okay, once I define that one, I'm thing for the next 1 month to do the improve. [04:45] you through these templates right here, right? So, this is the weekly review structural. And I'm going to give you some examples as well, right? Like these are examples on how you can actually fill up the [04:57] like share with you the different templates, all right? So, monthly review template, this is what it looks like. You can see the questions that you right? The process score is a little bit different as well. And then also your [05:11] quarterly review, you can see it's much more in-depth than the weekly and the monthly review. And then for your annual review, you can see this is where you get a lot more questions to reflect on. Right? Because at the end of the year, [05:23] this is where you will be able to like have the most amount of data to like think upon, you know, ponder upon and just think about how you can make next four templates. I'm just going to quickly show you the example, right? [05:38] here with fake data, right? So, for example, if you look at this weekly review template right here, this is from the week of February 10 to February 16. I document my wins, my loss, my break even trades, and I document all [05:51] the necessary metrics that I want to be tracking like the win rate, the net the average win R, average loss R, max forth. Okay? Now, what's the point of doing this? The point of doing this is [06:04] doing this? The point of doing this is to get the quantitative feedback. To get to know your trading strategy's effectiveness should just measure the performance of your edge based on numbers. So, at a [06:18] the strategy is actually profitable or not. Okay? Once again, weekly review is strategy is profitable or not, right? You need to do it over a larger sample size of trades, over a month, over a quarter, over 100 trades, over 500 [06:34] trades. Okay? But, for now, just know that this is where you compile the metrics in which you want to measure the qualitative performance of a trading strategy. And then below here, this is where you check on your discipline, [06:47] your compliance rate? How often do you follow supposed to follow your trade plan 10 times, but you only follow it eight times, then your compliance rate is probably around 80%. Okay, how many A [07:02] or emotional trades you have taken, how many missed value setups that you should were hesitating, you were scared, so on and so forth. And what is the best trade good. What can you learn from the best trade so you can repeat the win next [07:17] time round. And what's the worst trade, right? What caused it, right? Once again, the good trade and the worst trade doesn't need to be the trade with the biggest P&L or the biggest loss. Okay? [07:30] Best trade doesn't mean it's the trade with the biggest profit. Worst trade loss. No. It's the trade in which you feel like you performed the worst in and you feel like you performed the best in. [07:45] It needs to be tied to the process. It needs to tie into your ability to execute your trading system. Not tied into the trade outcome. Okay, so yeah, I can write down like what you have learned, right? Just [07:58] reflect on it. Just ponder upon it. And then once done with all the like the qualitative and numbers, the boring uh stuff right here, you want to take some It's very important that you give yourself time and space to introspect on [08:13] this period itself. Because if you don't do that, you're week. And if you repeat the same mistakes next week, you're unconscious, and you do the same [08:27] over again. Right? So that it's important for you to like just give yourself this time and space to just reflect, right? Think about, okay, what specifically make it work, right? Like [08:40] literally just sit down with a glass of green tea, right? Green tea, uh like have some noise canceling headphones on and just just write. Just write. What mistakes or weak points showed up and what's the prevention plan? What [08:55] worst trade? What's the single focus going into next week? Remember, nothing changes if nothing changes. The point of this review reflection is so that you can become more aware of your shortcomings. So that [09:10] more aware of your shortcomings. So that next week you can develop a strategy to combat these weaknesses, to get rid of these mistakes, so that you make more money. Because remember, making less mistakes means losing less money. And [09:23] automatically make more money. That's how important these reviewing things are, right? It's really just about becoming more conscious of your mistakes, of your emotional patterns, of your technical mistakes so that you can [09:40] develop solutions to solve them so that you can continuously improve and refine your edge edge flow. So, that's for the weekly review, right? Let's move on to you can see the matrix is the same, but now it's [09:54] in a different time horizon, right? Now you are measuring your trades on a monthly basis. So, like I said, at the end of that period, right? So, in this case it's a monthly review, so on the last day of February, I'm going to be [10:06] going through this yourself. I'm going to be filling all of this up right here, going to be looking at the trades on my journal, and then based on that, fill up all of this data right here. And I also a process called, right? [10:19] over here. And I also, once again, reflection questions. You can see the time now. It's not the same as the weekly review, it's a little bit that hit the hardest this month? What mental barrier showed up most? And [10:33] what's your plan to fix it? What are you most proud of this month? Process or results? What's the single focus going to next month? You probably seen a pattern by now. Every single review requires you to [10:45] actually put in an actionable step that you can take in the next period so that knowledge itself isn't power. Application of the knowledge is power. Knowledge is intrinsic power. Application of the knowledge allows you [11:00] Application of the knowledge allows you to turn that theory into action. Turns that act Turns that theoretical knowledge into steps that you can actually take to get better. And that's what we do in every single review, [11:13] right? We want to clearly define what's working so you can do more of what works, and what's not working so you can do less of what works. And then, most importantly, come up with like a focus that we can do the next period so that [11:28] we can get better. And that's a never-ending journey of self-discovery. It's this infinite game. It's this marathon where you always run and you just keep on running. There's no [11:43] finish line. There's no stopping because as long as you're playing this game, you need to continuously study your trades, review your trades, learn how you can improve, grow, get better, and then just do this entire [11:57] of your life. Have fun. Next is the quarterly review. little bit more time in the performance breakdown because this is where you can edge, right? Because now you actually [12:11] got 3 months worth of trading data. And 3 months worth of trading data is a lot more data to work with compared to 1 week worth of data, compared to 1 day worth of data. Now you actually got data that you can trust, right? Now you [12:25] actually got data where it can tell you the most information what are the variables that you should be changing, what are the variables that should remain in your trade plan, whatever it is. Okay, so that's that. [12:38] In terms of quarterly review-wise, very, very simple. Just go ahead, break down to know like what is the best market that you that you do most of your trading results. Like for example, there's this [12:52] 80/20 rule, right? What is the 20% of the actions that resulted in 80% of the profits? And then perhaps you want to do more of those actions yourself, right? Best setup name, why, top mistakes that caused you the most are and audit your [13:06] execution upgrade this quarter? What's the biggest discipline upgrade this quarter? Maybe you've been using the guardrails. You decided that, "Okay, you know, the max loss rule has been really useful, right?" And that really [13:19] So, perhaps put it down. Biggest mistake pattern to eliminate in the next quarter, so and so forth. And also, once again, do your deep All right. So, what is the biggest breakthrough this quarter? Where do you [13:32] slip most? What's the fix? What was your toughest moment and what did it teach you? If you master just one thing next quarter, what will it be? at the end of every 3 months, at the end of each quarter, right? Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4. [13:50] that you're essentially evaluating your trading results in that season. So that you can get better the next season. Like I said, if [14:04] you played badly in this season, doesn't mean that you have to play badly in next If you don't review your trades, you don't review your trading performance, then you sure as hell deserve to play badly in the next season. All right. [14:16] It's the same thing with athletes. After a professional NBA player lose a ring, lose their NBA game, right? They're not going to be sitting there reviewing the tape. They're going to be reviewing like their game play and see, [14:30] Okay, next season I'm not going to be doing that. I'm going to be spending the next few months in practice, getting rid of those mistakes. Maybe I should, you know, shoot the basketball this way. Maybe I should like position myself at [14:43] this part of the court itself. Right? That's what they're going to be tape. And that's what you're doing in these quarterly reviews yourself. review. Right, this is, to be honest, my [14:55] favorite form of review. Because this is where I really like just feel like I feel like this huge sense of accomplishment, you know? I'll just conquer an entire trading year. I showed up every single day. I follow my trade [15:07] plan. Sometimes sometimes I didn't. And now I got so much data to work with. And funnily enough, just last month, it was around January, like in the mid midway through January, I took the time out to actually go and review every [15:21] single trade I've taken in 2025. Right, literally every single trade I've taken I literally review it and then I note down my win rate, my net P&L, all of screen right now. And then the next day [15:34] I caught my biggest trade. I literally made 300k on the next trade itself, which was insane. Right? It's like if I haven't done that deep audit year, would I have caught that trade? Probably [15:48] not. Right? But because I did the audit, I know okay exactly what I need to spot there's a recurring pattern. Every single time I win a trade it's because win a trade it's because I'm trading this particular market at this timing. [16:04] That's it. Right? Look for that market, that entry model. Boom, everything comes like clockwork. History doesn't repeat itself, but it sure as hell rhymes. Okay? What I mean [16:17] every single movement in the market is unique. But there are going to be patterns that tend to happen over and over. And if you get good at spotting those patterns, if you get good at recognizing those [16:30] patterns early, then you will be able to capitalize on those opportunities when they do appear in the market. Once again, that's the power of reviewing. It's the training of pattern recognition skill. And I define the gut [16:45] feeling, your trader's intuition, as simply a well-trained subconscious pattern recognition skill. That's it. All right? So, yeah, do your reflecting on the year itself. What are the lessons you have learned? How you [17:01] have grown this year? What habits or systems or mentorship contributed most to your growth? What setbacks or patterns kept repeating? What was your why? What part of your strategy still needs development or refinement? Uh and [17:15] trading year, yet, and how will you engineer it? Right? That's how we grow. Remember, in life, it's either you grow or you die. It's either you adapt or you die. That's just how evolution works. [17:29] Okay, so if you're not going to die, you might as well adapt. You might as well That's the only way to make more money in the next year, the next quarter, the next month, next week. It's to keep on growing. It's to keep on adapting to the [17:42] market. It's to keep on improving. You will never ever go broke as long as you remain a lifelong student of the financial markets. As long as you have the humility to keep [17:57] on learning from the market, keep on learning from your trading data, to keep on getting better, to keep on refining your trade plan, no matter how much broke. Okay? So, don't get complacent. Use [18:10] don't I don't care how much money you make. I don't care how much money you lose. Just make this a habit. Just make this a routine. Just make this a process single week, every single quarter, every single year. That's it. Right? Once [18:24] again, just to remind you that these templates aren't here to make you feel productive. Okay? They're here to make you profitable. All right. So, when you use them, what you are doing is that you are telling yourself that, [18:37] trader. I want to be the guy that review my tape. I want I want to be the guy that keep on improving. I want to be a lifelong student of the markets." the most amount of money in a short term that wins. No. It's the trader who [18:51] that wins. No. It's the trader who review their trades and seek to improve that wins in the long term. Like I said, the data is already in your past trade. But most people just never look closely enough to extract it. They [19:07] asking for advice from their trading mentors, their trading gurus, when in Right? This is the secret sauce right here. To me, this is the holy grail. [19:19] So, use the notebook, run the 5 hour process, keep stacking small refinements every single quarter, and a year later, 3 years later, 5 years later, you'll look back and see how much improvement you have made. [19:34] How many quantum leaps you have accomplished in that period of time. And that's how you stop guessing and you start compounding.
