[0:01] [Music] [0:03] foreign [0:11] [Music] [0:18] [Music] [0:32] wow that was anticlimactic and it was [0:34] pretty incredible uh can everyone hear [0:37] us and is the audio working correctly [0:39] Mark decided to massively over [0:42] complicate this [0:44] um and Happy New Years to everyone [0:46] hopefully you had a good time with your [0:47] families yes Happy New Years to everyone [0:50] I am greatly uh excited to be here today [0:53] uh in the new studio space that we [0:56] constructed this took what 15 years in [0:58] the making uh this guy messaged me for [1:01] like a week he's like oh my God I got [1:03] all my foam phones [1:05] I don't know how the glue is holding up [1:07] it doesn't set yet Ikea desk yep my Ikea [1:12] desk it was the only one in stock [1:13] because there's a shortage of every [1:15] single thing apparently oh I went to go [1:17] buy some cubes for organizing my hard [1:19] drives and stuff didn't it said it was [1:21] in stock I go downstairs I'm like oh [1:23] where is it at every High Bay rack is [1:25] empty it's like sorry about that I'm [1:27] like I just wasted an hour in this dog [1:29] did you get meatballs at least I did get [1:31] meatballs but they were sub part the [1:33] people in the cafeteria were like what [1:35] is this guy doing here why is he [1:36] bothering us especially when I asked for [1:38] extra lingenberry sauce they're like [1:41] screw this guy [1:45] um okay all right so I know there are [1:48] some topics that Mark wants to talk [1:50] about before we answer everyone's [1:52] questions there's some patreon questions [1:53] we need to go through yes and there are [1:56] some lovely paid and unpaid questions we [1:58] are going to attempt to ask every [2:00] donated question we promise we will ask [2:03] answer like we always do in every [2:05] regular question at least the major ones [2:07] we'll try to get to as well so what's [2:09] the first topic you want to talk about [2:10] before I get to about a billion patreon [2:12] quotes yeah there's going to be a lot of [2:14] questions it so let's just get this out [2:16] of the way there's going to be this is [2:17] going to be a long long session three [2:20] hours is what I'm gonna tap out at okay [2:22] Jack's gonna tap out at three hours I've [2:23] committed to 15. this is gonna be like [2:25] the Lamar Race 24 hours where I just [2:28] crashed I'm gonna hit my head on these [2:30] guys uh so you want to be a beauty and [2:32] Fastbender is what you're saying no like [2:34] yeah I'm not going to get into fast food [2:36] that's actually a good topic but uh not [2:38] tonight so the the format is podcast q a [2:42] so podcast style and question and answer [2:44] obviously as this Banner suggests here [2:46] for those that are alright thank you for [2:50] for the beef and cheddar money I'm sure [2:52] that'll go very poorly for my health [2:54] long term or at least March [2:56] um and Adam thank you for your 50 [2:57] donation that's right wow yeah we're [3:00] already starting with the money and [3:01] that's uh you know let's get a lot more [3:03] coming in here I gotta I gotta finish [3:05] the remodel in here [3:08] um I will answer this question right [3:10] away forgetful foot uh we are doing a [3:12] 987.2 Cayman video it's next month I'm [3:15] trading my uh my gr86 with uh Greg from [3:19] Chicago auto pros and he's giving me a [3:21] stock car for a week or two to shoot a [3:22] video this was uh another question uh [3:27] about the Kirkland hoodie signature and [3:30] uh he's considering a WRX for his next [3:32] car have you guys had any experience [3:33] with the 2020 23 model yeah we have a [3:36] pretty long video on an orange one we [3:38] did we dynoed it whole nine yards and it [3:40] was in the uh comparison test we did [3:42] with the [3:44] Civic SI and a couple other vehicles [3:46] it's a it's the best regular WRX in [3:50] recent memory it's just kind of not [3:52] great looking so you know there's [3:54] nothing wrong with the car it's just not [3:55] hyper exciting it does what it set out [3:57] to do as being a daily driver that's [3:59] all-wheel drive and somewhat fun to [4:01] drive and a lot of capability the the [4:02] body's way better than it used to be [4:04] more rigid and all that but it's just [4:06] it's a little Subaru and also has the [4:08] RTV problems my gr86 has [4:11] I mean I still think it's pretty good [4:12] honestly I I enjoy driving it I don't [4:15] know that it's my type of car to own but [4:17] I'm going to leave it at that all right [4:20] so let's get through the the topic [4:22] questions before we start answering all [4:23] these questions and yes so let's let's [4:26] hit the topic so if anybody's thinking [4:28] about you know donating or whatever you [4:31] want to call it any sort of regular [4:32] questions let's hold off that just for [4:34] the sake of like hey [4:36] um don't just so we can get through some [4:39] of the initial topics because I really [4:40] want to break this up in so it's not [4:43] just all us answering questions [4:45] and the the first topic that I want to [4:48] get into is [4:50] the FL Type R video that's all you mark [4:53] uh Jack was not involved in that at all [4:55] and thank God for him [4:57] what a what a [ __ ] show honestly and so [5:01] I'm gonna explain it just briefly [5:04] I bought a tie bar and I bought a tie [5:06] bar much like uh your X7 because I told [5:10] you too yeah Jack's like oh man you [5:11] should get it you should get an X7 it [5:13] would be such a great deal complete your [5:14] 401k yeah I bought all these cars and [5:17] I've never used any resources from [5:19] manufacturers or any of that before like [5:21] that the X7 was like the worst buying [5:23] experience ever like the worst dealer [5:25] experience ever and I still stuck it out [5:27] and bought it but the fl5 was the first [5:29] car where [5:31] uh we contacted the Honda reps or you [5:33] made a connection for me with the Honda [5:35] reps and they said okay maybe we can get [5:37] you one through the region which means [5:39] they allocate you a car and then they [5:42] pick the dealer that it goes to and then [5:44] they ship that car there specifically [5:47] for you and the dealer has to agree to [5:49] it so in this case they asked me what [5:51] dealer I wanted to go to and I said well [5:53] anything but Brilliance Honda because [5:55] the previous dealership Crystal Lake [5:58] Honda which no longer exists went [6:00] bankrupt from screwing people over doing [6:02] double loans the most Shady stuff ever [6:04] so when the owner the the guy the owner [6:07] who was in the video Kevin he had an [6:10] opportunity because he worked for Toyota [6:11] and then he worked for Honda like Toyota [6:13] on the corporate side he they gave him [6:16] an opportunity to buy this franchise [6:17] because it was in the [ __ ] and he's [6:19] like well uh I think he got a good deal [6:21] on it I'm not sure about the financial [6:22] part but then he had to turn all of this [6:24] around but because it burned me as a kid [6:27] I never wanted to deal with anything to [6:29] do with that so when our Honda up said [6:31] well you know this is who we use this is [6:33] our agreement and the dealership [6:34] actually has a lot of they work with the [6:36] Chicago Auto Show the the owner works [6:39] with that side of it and they have some [6:41] connections in the media but for my part [6:43] really all it was was [6:45] Honda's like okay the car is coming [6:46] which I never believed and then I got a [6:48] call well it's on its way and then I got [6:50] delayed in shipping it got stuck at the [6:52] Port all this and finally it showed up [6:54] and I went and talked to the owner and [6:56] the owner's family and I'm like this is [6:58] what happened to me in the past like [7:00] what do you think and he explained [7:02] everything to me like the fact that [7:03] they're not the old dealership that they [7:05] spent years trying to fix it that they [7:07] understand how the industry has a bad [7:09] name and they they only sell to local [7:11] people like Illinois [7:13] I for the gr86 series which is more for [7:18] viewer series than it is for a personal [7:20] purchase in any way uh the Toyota region [7:22] set me up with St Charles and they only [7:24] sell the locals as well which makes [7:26] sense because if you look at and we [7:28] talked about this too and there's so [7:29] much in this video we didn't talk about [7:30] we talked about carvana specifically why [7:32] they're failing and carvana is failing [7:34] because they did not understand how [7:37] difficult it was to sell cars to every [7:39] single state so if you have a company [7:42] and you're like okay we have a buyer out [7:44] of state every state it has different [7:46] requirements for titling different [7:48] paperwork requirements different loan [7:51] requirements from the banks for each [7:52] region so it became a mess and they [7:54] couldn't meet all the state requirements [7:56] so they made mistakes on paperwork they [7:58] didn't get things to the DMV so they [8:00] have all these customers that don't have [8:02] titles they didn't have their their [8:04] loans set up properly all this drama so [8:06] they're like six months behind on [8:07] everything they don't have the resources [8:09] to do it so that's why they don't want [8:10] to do it they're all small company local [8:12] business that can only sell locally and [8:15] I didn't say that in the video and it [8:16] came across as like a plug for them like [8:18] hey come to them and they they're going [8:20] to help you out no they're not because [8:21] they can't [8:22] and the the other part was I did a [8:24] really bad job of telling the story The [8:26] reason I wanted to tell the story about [8:27] the lf05 is the first Civic I ever [8:29] bought was a red ex and I was like okay [8:32] this was a big purchase for me and I had [8:35] all of these like nostalgic feelings [8:37] because I did everything much like you I [8:39] traveled across the US it was the first [8:40] car I could afford that was good that I [8:43] did everything with so this red tie bar [8:45] was like I said in the CRX video I [8:47] wanted to close the loop I wanted to [8:49] close out all these stories about these [8:51] Honda cars that I loved as a kid that's [8:53] why I'm doing the NSX video that's you [8:55] know we're trying to go to Japan this is [8:57] a disaster to put together that's [8:58] something we'll talk about later but God [9:00] is that a [ __ ] nightmare yeah so all [9:02] these Honda videos I want to do they're [9:03] because I want to do it and when I talk [9:05] to the dealership and learned about all [9:06] the [ __ ] that they had to deal with [9:08] from a small business and just how much [9:10] hatred is there for them the reason I'm [9:12] looking at my phone is so I can answer [9:14] the questions by the way okay yeah I'm [9:16] not bored of this conversation that's [9:17] the reason why I'm I'm looking up yeah [9:18] we don't have a moderator today just so [9:20] you know chin face is out getting hair [9:22] plugs yeah he's finally getting his [9:24] plugs thank God uh so yes I put him in [9:28] the video and it was a lot longer the [9:30] video was like 45 minutes because I had [9:31] a lot of interview footage and I just [9:33] got tired of it and I didn't feel like [9:35] it flowed well and then I forgot to tell [9:36] my own story I didn't tell my own story [9:38] well that this was about repairing my [9:41] past relationship with a brand that I [9:43] had a lot of bad experiences with at the [9:45] end of the video is me at the old [9:46] dealership that got that closed and I [9:48] was turning off the lights and it was [9:50] supposed to be symbolic of me like [9:51] closing the chapter on Old Mark and [9:53] here's the new Mark with the new car but [9:55] of course everybody took it as a giant [9:57] Flex like uh how can you get a car for [10:01] MSRP a Civic like this where nobody else [10:03] can get it and and I told the owner of [10:06] the dealership because he was really [10:07] concerned they got a lot of hate like [10:09] they got a lot of hate because they [10:10] thought I was making an ad for them and [10:12] no I was just telling my own story and I [10:14] sent him an email about the four things [10:17] that I thought honestly had happened in [10:20] that video that I didn't account for and [10:21] that's my mistake take because I didn't [10:23] realize that people were so angry about [10:26] like what's going on in the car industry [10:29] um [10:30] and it's the lack of inventory and [10:33] dealer gouging that's going on right [10:35] especially in the Enthusiast car market [10:37] that people have to jump through so many [10:39] Hoops in the case of the gr Corolla and [10:42] the Civic these are gold standard [10:43] affordable cars basically every [10:45] Enthusiast car yes and it's just not the [10:47] cheap ones it's the expensive ones the [10:49] Z06 the gt3s like all of these are hyper [10:52] expensive and then the dealers know that [10:54] they can't get them so any car they get [10:57] they're sitting on it and people are [10:58] angry so if you can't get one locally [11:00] you start going out of state you find [11:01] out a dealer is not going to sell it to [11:03] you because you're out of state and you [11:05] they don't really do a good job [11:06] explaining why which I just tried to do [11:08] and then they want to charge 20 000 over [11:10] sticker for a car that should be like 45 [11:12] Grand people are pissed off about it so [11:14] they're naturally angry at me for [11:16] getting a car for MSRP because I'm like [11:18] entitled media like why should I get it [11:21] um the other part which I wanted to talk [11:23] about the media side is the vaporware [11:26] aspect of these cars they're paying [11:28] these companies are paying a lot of [11:29] money in the case of Toyota Honda these [11:31] are the recent ones they're paying a lot [11:32] of money to send media on these trips [11:34] and they get everybody excited for these [11:36] cars like gr Corolla gre-6 Type R all of [11:40] that and they're like look at how cool [11:42] these cars are we're making it cheap [11:44] it's an entry level pricing well the [11:46] gr86 the same way you can get them right [11:48] so then you see all this on the internet [11:50] people get excited and then they go to [11:52] buy it and there's only like 300 in the [11:55] country they can't get them made and [11:57] then people like are they are they [11:59] artificially not making these cars are [12:02] they artificially not making them so the [12:03] dealers can make more money and I think [12:05] the reality is when you look at gr [12:07] Corolla and the FRS or 86 and the type R [12:11] they're in factories where normal cars [12:13] are made and right now because there's [12:15] such a shortage on commodity cars they [12:17] are not going to prioritize the [12:19] Enthusiast cars over the commodity cars [12:21] where dealerships need those to make [12:23] money and if you're a if you're one of [12:26] these brands [12:27] let's be honest the demand on paper [12:30] looks like it's huge for a Type R if you [12:31] looked at the internet you'd think [12:33] they'd sell a million of these cars but [12:34] the reality is they would probably maybe [12:37] sell fifteen thousand the first year in [12:39] the US so they're not going to move [12:42] around production for the specialty car [12:44] to reduce production of a car they could [12:46] potentially sell for like 250 000 for [12:48] All That Matters to oems is if they make [12:50] money and the reality is even with the [12:52] specialty car factories uh by the end of [12:55] this month you'll see our C8 [12:57] manufacturing video and I can tell you [12:58] for a fact spending a lot of time with [13:01] the engineers at that factory and the [13:03] the engineers at the company at this [13:05] point they're not artificially limiting [13:07] how many cars they are building they are [13:09] genuinely trying to build every single [13:12] car they can the available Parts they [13:13] have Porsche is the same way when you [13:15] talk to them knowing some people who are [13:17] suppliers for that company they are [13:20] building every 911 they possibly can [13:23] it's just the way the world works if you [13:25] know anyone that owns a factory who [13:26] builds people parts for components they [13:28] will tell you the same thing there are [13:30] part shortages yeah and and it's it's [13:32] definitely affected these cars and it's [13:34] they've prioritized the mainstream cars [13:36] or the high volume cars over the [13:38] Enthusiast cars that don't sell a lot [13:40] and while it may be a lot of margin for [13:42] the dealers at this point to scalp you [13:44] know [13:45] 10 000 units of a specialty car at a low [13:48] price is Not Gonna Make It or Break It [13:50] for a dealer or for a for an oem and [13:54] then the last thing that I I have to [13:55] apologize for is because I didn't do a [13:58] good job of explaining my side of the [13:59] story of why I got a tie bar and then I [14:03] made it I came across in a way that made [14:05] me sound like oh I deserve this car and [14:08] honestly [14:09] I I don't I don't it's not a dream car [14:12] for me I'm happy to have a Type R but I [14:15] would never pay over sticker for it if [14:16] Honda like dropped it on me last minute [14:18] oh you're gonna have to pay 10 000 over [14:19] sticker I wouldn't have a Type R right [14:20] now I just don't think it's worth it [14:22] um and I think there's a lot of people [14:24] upset with how this works on the back [14:26] end with people getting cars or special [14:28] treatment [14:29] um this happens like all the time it's [14:31] not like I think the difference is [14:32] journalists For Better or For Worse and [14:34] many of you I'm sure don't do this for a [14:36] living or understand how this works we [14:38] have a direct loan to the oems and the [14:40] Reps wanna [14:41] build relationships with Outlets Car and [14:45] Driver Motor Trend running track have [14:47] been buying fleet vehicles for long-term [14:49] testers for decades at this point and [14:51] the way it works for them is they call [14:53] up their Regional wrap like hey I want [14:55] to buy one of these and the Lexus Toyota [14:58] whoever's doing it for them will [15:00] facilitate the transaction they are [15:01] paying MSRP they're not getting special [15:04] special treatment financially but [15:06] they're making sure the dealer that is [15:08] working with whoever Outlet it may be [15:11] like Topher got one of these cars in the [15:13] case of the type R Rady and like five [15:16] other different Outlets got these [15:18] vehicles all Honda did was hook them up [15:19] with the dealer and assure the dealer [15:21] that they got an allocation the [15:23] allocation that was going to said dealer [15:25] wasn't being pulled from another [15:27] customer right and they did so the [15:29] dealers that got media cars for people [15:32] like myself they also got another [15:33] allocation in the case of this [15:35] dealership their allocation winds up [15:37] having to go to the Chicago Auto Show [15:39] because they don't have another car to [15:42] show at the Chicago Auto Show for a [15:43] tight bar so he actually has to use his [15:44] inventory to display it as a display [15:46] piece so again it goes back to the fact [15:48] that they're not making enough of these [15:50] cars to meet demand and [ __ ] rolls [15:52] downhill and everybody's pissed off [15:53] because everything's too expensive you [15:55] can't get fun cars for cheap and then [15:56] you got me like a dumbass like oh look I [15:59] got a tight bar nobody else can get it [16:01] that's not what this is about for me I [16:03] love I've been into Honda since I was a [16:05] kid I own forums I was a partial owner [16:09] in like Honda Focus forums for [16:11] enthusiast groups for like five years [16:12] before I sold it I've had between the [16:15] two of us we have like 20 Hondas it's [16:16] not just like hopping on the bandwagon [16:18] of the cool car but that's what it [16:20] sounds like and that's what it looks [16:21] like doing this so you know anybody [16:23] that's pissed off I apologize for that I [16:26] just I didn't tell the story right so [16:28] anyway uh it's enough about that there [16:31] there's other stuff too with the media [16:33] part of it [16:34] um that I mentioned about [16:36] the business side of this [16:39] um and I think you know on the back end [16:41] people don't understand it and I think [16:42] you tell it really well about the media [16:45] relationship with oems and how that [16:46] works because people think we get paid [16:48] to review cars there's a lot of [16:50] misconception that journalists or media [16:53] like here's a car we're going to pay you [16:55] for it and that's how we make money and [16:56] that's not how this works the way the [16:57] transaction Works to put it pretty [17:00] bluntly is oems get access to sorry [17:04] forgive me Outlets journalists YouTubers [17:06] vloggers whatever when I think [17:08] journalists I think traditional Buff [17:09] books car driver Run Track Motor Trend [17:12] uh Automobile Magazine if that thing [17:14] still exists would get vehicles from [17:17] oems to do a story on the logistics from [17:21] the vehicle it getting to you if you own [17:23] a press trip all that is covered by the [17:25] OEM you're responsible for gas and a lot [17:27] of the fun stuff [17:29] you are not getting paid by the OEM to [17:31] review the car you're making money off [17:33] the content you produce there's not a [17:35] direct exchange of goods certain [17:37] magazines like Motor Trend Car Driver [17:39] Run Track will do paid advertisements or [17:42] paid features that are specifically [17:44] labeled as ads for specific oems with [17:47] the general stories you're seeing aren't [17:49] paid even our giant documentary films [17:51] you're saying that we do like on Z06 Z [17:54] it's the same thing they cover some of a [17:56] lot of a lot or many of the logistics [17:58] costs well they wouldn't but I have to [18:01] like literally when we do some of these [18:02] projects now I have to put my foot down [18:03] like I want to do this I want to do [18:05] these big videos but I'm not going to [18:07] pay four thousand dollars for travel [18:09] because we're not making that money back [18:11] to do this and the Honda stuff at least [18:12] on the NSX which we'll get to later this [18:15] is because I want to do it Honda's not [18:16] like oh here's some money we'd love to [18:18] see an NS NSX piece that we don't care [18:21] about anymore because we don't make it [18:22] this is stuff that I want to do and it's [18:24] stuff that comes out of my pocket and [18:25] the reality is there's not unlimited [18:27] money to do this stuff there's not a [18:29] huge return you have to crank out things [18:31] and in my case I want to do it a certain [18:33] way and that costs money it really does [18:36] cost money to do this so they're not [18:37] paying correct traditionally at least [18:39] unless it's a paid ad and it has we have [18:42] to say that you know like even on [18:43] YouTube you can't just put something [18:45] that's paid and not say that it's [18:46] sponsored you have to have a flag on [18:48] that otherwise it's a terms of use [18:50] violation and if you're big media like [18:52] Motor Trend and all them you'll see it [18:54] it's like sponsored by or like funded by [18:57] or it has a title sponsorship to pay for [18:59] it and that's how they do it to make [19:01] supplemental money but we've never done [19:03] that with a manufacturer before unless [19:04] I'm mistaken on anything any car [19:06] manufacturer how do you think I have my [19:08] stos and my yeah your Lamborghinis yeah [19:10] all my Equinox paid reviews are great [19:12] right yeah [19:15] um one thing I will say as well the [19:17] relationship between oems and Brands is [19:21] is interesting right it is still a human [19:23] relationship so if you piss them off you [19:25] [ __ ] on every single one of their [19:26] vehicles and you through personal bias [19:28] and you can't point out objective faults [19:30] with the vehicle you know it's within [19:33] their best interest and well not [19:35] necessarily yours as the Outlook but [19:36] it's within their best interests and not [19:37] to want to do business with you right [19:39] Ferrari's famous for if they get a bad [19:41] review you're done with them yes and [19:43] that's that's the pro and the con of [19:45] this that's why we when we are negative [19:47] we try to back it up with objective [19:49] facts and I a hundred percent I would [19:53] 100 agree with that it's a slippery [19:55] slope with uh all this stuff where [20:00] um you you realize that [20:05] you can't just do whatever you want with [20:07] this you just can't [20:09] um and this is a good example like this [20:11] NSX video uh that I did a long time ago [20:15] which is six years ago I drove with [20:18] their their Factory driver at that point [20:21] and then I had a philosophical [20:23] conversation with him about the new NSX [20:27] at that time and I brought up the fact [20:28] like you drive gt3s he's a Porsche [20:31] driver he drives gt3s I'm like how does [20:33] this compare and it put him in a spot [20:35] where not only did it get him in trouble [20:37] because he said it without saying it [20:39] that he preferred the gt3s over the NSX [20:42] and then I went on a tirade how they [20:44] engineered out the driver of the car and [20:47] I we I did not get Honda press cars [20:50] after this video a Honda or Acura press [20:53] cars after this video for probably four [20:56] years I basically had to restart the [20:58] relationship with them in the formal [20:59] capacity yes and and that's the reality [21:02] like it hasn't been uh it hasn't been [21:05] flowers and roses and there's things [21:07] that you can get away with and there's [21:09] things that you can't and generally I'm [21:10] brutally honest like I Know Jack always [21:13] says it dude you know we're running a [21:15] business here you can't just be a total [21:17] dick about stuff so you bury it in [21:20] sarcasm you try to find a grounded root [21:23] of like what's really wrong objectively [21:25] it has to be objective it's not just [21:27] like I don't like the paint color this [21:28] thing's this thing's ugly you know you [21:31] can't get you know you could say that [21:32] but I don't even that's why I don't talk [21:34] about the exterior cars anymore like me [21:36] going off about how it's ugly does the [21:38] OEM know Justice at all they already [21:40] know the car is ugly because that's all [21:41] they hear about so I we try to focus on [21:44] like how's it drive is there a [21:45] transmission issue why do they do this [21:47] it makes way more sense but we're [21:49] probably more negative than most people [21:51] I mean our our even our Z06 documentary [21:54] if you watch that the final thoughts [21:56] probably some of the most negative there [21:58] are of any video on that car and it's [22:01] negativity based in objective fact and [22:04] based upon and engineering decisions [22:05] they make but if you paint it that way [22:07] for oems it's typically more accepted [22:10] because you can have an open dialogue [22:12] with an engineer right all engineering [22:13] is I'm an engineer I can tell you this [22:15] so when you work on a project is what [22:17] compromises you can live with that's all [22:19] it comes down to and that's how cars [22:21] work too and people seem to forget that [22:22] well I think that's how business works [22:24] right it's about the engineering of like [22:26] things but it's also like trying to do [22:28] what we're doing is you have to find [22:30] that balance of like what compromises [22:31] are you willing to make to do this [22:33] you're not going to get cars shipped to [22:35] you from manufacturers if you just [22:36] regurgitate all over all of them it just [22:39] doesn't work that way so it has to be [22:41] this honest relationship that gets built [22:43] up and not only that it's about the [22:44] viewership right our responsibility is [22:48] to the viewers the people that are [22:50] actually watching these videos that's [22:52] why I started this because I wanted to [22:54] hear about the things that nobody was [22:55] talking about I wanted to learn about [22:57] these things that nobody was talking [22:58] about either they didn't have the [23:00] knowledge to share the information they [23:02] didn't want to spend the time because as [23:04] we've done this we realize why Nobody [23:06] Does it and you had a conversation with [23:07] a guy from was it Car and Driver a Motor [23:09] Trend one of the I think it was Motor [23:11] Trend and he flat out told me that [23:13] consumers are essentially too stupid to [23:16] consume technical information people [23:18] don't care obviously our business is [23:20] based on that not being true but a lot [23:23] of the former or let's call it current [23:27] journalists in the industry don't [23:29] understand anything remotely Technical [23:31] and the Reps other than certain brands [23:34] don't want to know anything technical [23:35] because a lot of them are formerly [23:37] journalists or don't come from a [23:39] technical background and they don't [23:40] value it and that's why you see [23:42] marketing from certain brands the way it [23:44] is that's why you see content being the [23:46] way it is they like making sure that [23:49] information that is available to [23:50] Consumers is basically for the lowest [23:53] common denominator yeah which with how [23:54] expensive cars are now particular [23:56] particularly in a performance capacity [24:00] it's sort of depressing because you [24:02] unfortunately or fortunately need a [24:05] professional job now to afford any of [24:07] the stuff that's new which is it's it [24:09] and it goes back to like the whole thing [24:10] with the anger level that people are [24:12] having towards these types of products [24:14] especially on the Enthusiast side [24:15] obviously the enthusiasts are the [24:16] loudest voice all the time of like what [24:19] they like and they don't like but I [24:21] can't believe how many people and this [24:22] this goes back to the comment I made in [24:24] that Civic video like we know that we're [24:27] making videos and that people listen to [24:28] them I'm not telling people to go buy [24:30] cars I'm just saying like we like these [24:33] cars we think they're a good buy and it [24:35] I talk to people the viewership just [24:37] like we talk to our family I can I mean [24:39] like I looked at my dad's like [24:41] healthcare helper she just bought a RAV4 [24:44] I'm on the phone with a like a really [24:47] close relative they bought two RAV4s now [24:50] they want to buy another one but they [24:51] they're looking for something else so [24:52] now they're gonna buy avenza [24:55] um another family member has a a RAV4 [24:58] your girlfriend has a REV for you know [25:00] like all these people in this short [25:02] window that's just the people we know [25:04] and there is a lot of sphere of [25:06] influence and there's a lot of [25:07] responsibility that comes with trying to [25:09] be honest to people about what is good [25:11] and what's not from not just a [ __ ] [25:13] level of like oh look at all the [25:14] features because everything is feature [25:16] driven right like if it otherwise every [25:19] single CUV and SUV would be identical [25:21] which they pretty much are so they have [25:22] to pack on all of this stuff to make it [25:25] like oh look at all the things that we [25:27] have all the bells and whistles that's [25:28] the only way sales people can push these [25:30] things to make them any difference other [25:31] than price and at the end of it like [25:34] everything's so complicated now it's [25:36] really hard to weed through that and [25:37] that's what our job is and it's becoming [25:39] far more complicated to do than it ever [25:41] has in the past because of of everything [25:43] that we're seeing [25:45] um sorry no no worries all right let's [25:47] let's touch the the next topic as we've [25:49] sort of beat that one death sorry if [25:51] let's put anyone to sleep yeah I know I [25:53] just wanted to get that out of the way [25:54] clearly you know we could sit here and [25:55] answer questions all day but there's [25:56] some interesting topics [25:58] um that I've wanted to cover for a while [26:00] unplugging me I haven't I haven't done [26:02] anything so I gotta go back and and flag [26:03] them while you start answering certain [26:04] questions [26:06] um [26:07] the Dell integration really quick you're [26:09] going to see a couple more of these Dell [26:10] Integrations in in well I mean it's [26:13] integrated in every video like it's [26:14] clear that I'm doing that uh we're going [26:16] to be putting it into the Z Z06 Factory [26:20] video that we're doing that should be [26:21] out in two weeks [26:23] um I'm trying to convert over a lot of [26:25] my technology and pushing forward so [26:27] you'll see me talking about HDR and I [26:29] know that matters to about a handful of [26:31] people but I want to make sure that the [26:32] content is at the highest quality [26:34] possible and now that I have equipment [26:36] and I have all these resources to do it [26:37] I'm going to keep leveraging that and [26:39] the support so you're going to see that [26:40] and I just want to be transparent about [26:42] it you're going to see a lot more of it [26:44] um [26:45] this next one is a big topic [26:49] Jack likes to talk about Corvettes well [26:53] um you're gonna be hearing a lot more [26:54] about Corvettes this year we are doing [26:56] assuming it gets off the ground uh our [26:59] first big like Factory backed by both [27:01] oems comparison test between a certain [27:05] company that makes four liters in German [27:06] cars and a Z06 around a racetrack with a [27:11] Pro driver same same tires cup 2rs a [27:15] pretty good idea I assume you know what [27:17] I'm talking about that'll be shot in [27:18] early spring we have our Factory video [27:21] coming out which is has very little to [27:23] do with a specific car but how cars are [27:27] made and one of the things we don't get [27:29] to talk about often because most people [27:31] don't find it interesting it's a [27:33] manufacturing process people seem to [27:34] forget that cars are made by people yeah [27:37] four people they aren't made by some [27:39] Amazon robot in some Factory somewhere [27:41] and then airdrop to a dealership these [27:44] take Supply chains yeah training just [27:48] the engineering associated with Main [27:49] factoring like I come from an Emmy [27:51] background of mechanical engineer and I [27:53] spent a lot of time in factories and [27:55] just getting the workflow through it's [27:57] incredible and you think about how [27:58] complicated a car is how that has to be [28:01] built by human beings hopefully you get [28:03] to appreciate more of that in this video [28:05] it's going to be very similar to our Z06 [28:07] film and that you're going to hear [28:08] directly from Engineers people that [28:10] media typically doesn't get access to [28:12] and we're going to try to explain how a [28:15] car is made and the Beautiful part is [28:18] it's not only just that like how all of [28:20] them are made Jack got to see his own [28:22] cargo down the line and while we're [28:25] trying to correct the mistake I made [28:26] with fl5 Type R like then hey I got this [28:29] car this is this is how I would have [28:31] wanted to do and that's what we did with [28:32] Jack's Car it's an unbelievably rare [28:35] opportunity that you never get to see of [28:37] having access to the people that [28:39] designed everything seeing them make it [28:41] and then seeing your own car go down the [28:43] line but really for the more for me it [28:45] was I think I was more excited than you [28:47] to see this honestly I didn't get to see [28:49] Jack's Car go down the line but when we [28:50] want to shoot again to see the level of [28:54] like [28:55] I I got so excited about the paint booth [28:58] right like how the hell I am this is [29:00] what I asked the engineers and he's [29:01] probably what the [ __ ] is wrong with [29:02] this guy I asked them how they got the [29:04] paint off the spray booth greats like [29:07] all the parts that go through all the [29:09] hang on panels like all that overspray [29:10] gets on grates like how do you clean [29:12] that the carts come in clean and they go [29:15] out with paint on them how do they get [29:17] the paint off the carts that go through [29:19] like all the logistical nightmare of all [29:21] this from ventilation it's just amazing [29:23] and I hope we capture just if we capture [29:26] 10 of all that in this video they'll [29:28] feel pretty good about it and bottom [29:29] line is [29:30] I think people really like it I hope so [29:33] at least [29:33] um it's a very very cool story and the [29:36] people involved much like our original [29:38] Z06 video are amazing they're very [29:40] passionate they're they're happy to be [29:43] there and I was telling mark because [29:44] this this was a project that took many [29:46] many different trips to film all Yes uh [29:49] the first time I was there Mark's like [29:50] oh how was it and he and I make fun of [29:52] Corvettes yeah of course it's easy right [29:54] the stereotypes are often true and I'm [29:56] like these people are really happy to be [29:57] here and he's like no no no they put on [29:59] a face and when you're actually there [30:01] with them they were happy to be there [30:03] it's the sad truth is or the the pro [30:06] depending on who you are that's sort of [30:09] the Apex of American cars made here in [30:11] the US is the Z06 and the all the future [30:13] performance variants it's about as good [30:16] as American manufacturing gets here now [30:18] that the NSX Type S is dead right that [30:21] Ohio plane isn't building the NSX [30:23] anymore I can't really name another [30:25] American Supercar that's built here yeah [30:28] I mean you could get into the the [30:29] boutique manufacturer yeah like that [30:32] type of stuff but yeah to that to that [30:34] level yeah we just don't see it so it is [30:36] special especially if you're in the [30:37] United States I I there's this mixed [30:40] thing of like manufacturing going away [30:42] and all these jobs going away and we've [30:44] seen it decimated and there's like a lot [30:45] of good reason why it has and there's [30:47] all these internal politics someone said [30:49] Ford GT the Ford GT was built in Canada [30:51] and it was a multimatic car yeah so or [30:54] was it multimatic yeah it was multimed [30:55] okay or it wasn't actually assembled by [30:57] Ford per se yeah so that that's even [30:59] that's like a race division you know [31:01] that put that thing together just like [31:03] uh like the GT350 are like race cars the [31:06] multimatic cars those were not even [31:08] through this like a traditional assembly [31:10] line but I mean anyway really it's just [31:12] special because we don't see that level [31:14] of manufacturing everything's gone you [31:16] know the jobs are gone so you see these [31:17] people at the Pinnacle like this is the [31:20] best that it could possibly be for those [31:22] those workers and the people there they [31:24] have a lot of budget they have a lot of [31:25] respect and it just shines through which [31:28] you know hopefully your video captured I [31:30] hope so so anyway that's a long day trip [31:32] in a sex video so we've been talking [31:34] about this for about a billion years at [31:35] this point we've already shot let's call [31:37] it the meat and potatoes of the video [31:39] the thing we've been trying to do and [31:41] it's the it's been my job in some ways [31:43] I've failed at this but it's also the [31:45] joys of dealing with uh Japanese and [31:48] American Honda at the same time and [31:50] trying to get this to work correctly is [31:53] many of the teams or team members of the [31:55] original NSX the Gen 1 have pseudo [31:59] agreed to come out of retirement to talk [32:01] about this car Yahara some of the [32:03] technical people who have worked on the [32:05] original car have all agreed to be on [32:07] video and initially when Honda when we [32:10] approached Honda about this because this [32:11] is a it's not it hasn't been done by an [32:14] American team yet to do a documentary on [32:16] this car while these people are still [32:18] alive and a little bit fun stuff and as [32:20] soon as we talked about the logistics [32:22] involved with it Honda North America uh [32:26] quite frankly doesn't give two shits [32:28] about the genuine NSX and the Gen 2 the [32:30] hybrid car is sort of uh the unloved [32:34] child of the family it's not [32:35] particularly valued by Japan and wasn't [32:39] the most successful car here in North [32:40] America so their enthusiasm to support [32:43] this project has been interesting yeah [32:46] and basically a lot of promises on their [32:48] end fell through so we're trying to now [32:50] get this come full circle with support [32:53] from certain members in Honda and King [32:56] Motorsports specifically yeah so that [32:58] I'm going to leave it at that this is [33:00] the longest project that I've ever tried [33:02] to get get done [33:04] um because I wanted to like again it's [33:07] about closing the loop of all my [33:08] favorite Honda cars and I wanted I [33:10] really wanted to get these guys on [33:11] camera before they're gone and it's [33:14] it's just more it's more difficult than [33:16] I thought and it's a lot of money like [33:18] international travel like somebody's got [33:20] to pay for that like I'm not just gonna [33:21] go and do like hey I wanna I wanna [33:23] interview all these guys and you know [33:25] bring them out of retirement for the [33:26] sake of a video that advertises a brand [33:28] without having some of those Logistics [33:30] I'm not asking you to get paid but [33:32] something's got to be covered from it [33:33] and we haven't been able to to get to [33:35] that place and I'm like we have probably [33:38] we have so much stuff shot for this [33:40] thing already that it's like when they [33:42] talk about projects that sit in the can [33:44] for too long it's a bad sign honestly I [33:47] think what we have is great but we don't [33:48] have the final story and I don't just [33:50] want to talk about the American side of [33:53] the NSX because that's nothing other [33:55] than the current car right nothing and [33:56] even then the current car is not all [33:59] that exciting and I think it's a car [34:01] that came out too early for its own good [34:04] and while the type S I mean from a [34:06] technology perspective the fact that [34:08] they made a hybrid Supercar that was all [34:10] aluminum you know all these things that [34:12] you want and was it the price point it [34:14] was very very impressive but I think [34:16] it's sort of been made irrelevant by [34:17] everything else that's come out yeah the [34:19] fact that it wasn't a focused car yeah [34:21] right yeah and I mean we're going to [34:23] talk more about that I think when we get [34:24] the NSX video out I I will talk more [34:26] about the differences between the old [34:28] and new and some of the old and new [34:29] Honda mentalities and the split [34:32] internally I think there's a huge split [34:34] between the Japanese Engineers the [34:37] American side what we want versus what [34:39] they want leadership it's just this [34:41] weird like weird disconnect between what [34:45] everybody wants to do and then the [34:46] long-term vision of the brand which is [34:48] not internal combustion it's hybrid and [34:52] it's electric only so these types of [34:54] cars that we're talking about are like [34:56] we're over it you know like some of the [34:58] American team at Honda here is great our [35:00] rep is amazing yeah yeah [35:02] um some of the leadership we've met have [35:03] been very very nice to be around like [35:06] Jonathan river is the guy we interviewed [35:07] for Integra the first time around great [35:09] guy just a weird disconnected brand I [35:12] think in some of these cars and some of [35:14] these [35:14] there's a disconnect I feel like between [35:16] marketing leadership and some of the [35:18] engineers yeah and it it's troubling [35:20] like if you compare this to GTR someone [35:22] brought it up in the comments and again [35:24] that's why I'm looking at my phone [35:26] um Nissan has no budget they have no [35:28] money but their team members care about [35:31] cars that have been dead for 40 years or [35:33] 30 years like if you talk to really any [35:36] of them Dan pass specifically Jonathan [35:37] about Legacy Nissan products they perk [35:40] up and they are more excited to talk [35:42] about those things and I've I could ever [35:44] be myself and that shows up like [35:46] tomorrowson the gentleman we had in both [35:48] Z and GTR it really is his life's work [35:51] yeah and he's made it his mission in [35:53] life to talk about those cars and [35:55] celebrate the people who worked on them [35:56] obviously including himself but [35:58] celebrate those products it's it's a bit [36:00] disheartening that Acura Honda doesn't [36:03] have that same I think I don't know I [36:06] think they're passionate about it but [36:07] being passionate about it in the US [36:09] where a lot of these cars are not [36:10] designed is different than the actual [36:13] like parent company that's to do doing [36:15] all the engineering and development I [36:16] mean there's only certain level they can [36:18] go to be like this is what we want and [36:21] even though you may be the primary [36:22] market for a lot of these sales they [36:24] still like they're not making the car [36:27] the Japanese are making the car so you [36:29] it's it's really hard to thread that [36:31] needle and get these people to to really [36:33] work together but every brand is like [36:36] that you'll hear it from the German [36:37] Brands the U.S side to the Germans don't [36:39] really work cohesively the Koreans are [36:42] very very separated you know most of the [36:44] Korean brands that we see in the United [36:45] States they're there purely for product [36:48] planning and like marketing and all that [36:49] they're not like we're not coming up [36:51] with anything in the U.S for any of like [36:53] the Hyundai and Kia stuff other than you [36:55] know market trends potentially but uh [36:57] that's a lot of inside baseball Jack is [36:59] there any other topics you want to [37:00] answer before we answer some of the paid [37:01] questions and patreon questions I will [37:03] tell you what we have in the can and [37:05] we'll we'll cover that in a little bit [37:06] uh we'll cover whatever is left there's [37:09] some other BS topics that I want to hit [37:11] but let's get right into [37:14] um [37:15] the general top general questions and [37:18] the uh can you go back and flag all [37:20] these while you're doing the patreon [37:22] stuff well starting off with that [37:24] all right so as we promised our loyal [37:27] patreon members we are going to attempt [37:30] to answer as many questions as possible [37:31] and this time around I will actually go [37:34] back and whatever I don't answer Mark or [37:36] I will comment and try to answer [37:39] um [37:40] the first question is oh man we got a [37:43] lot bear with me as I scroll to the [37:45] beginning of this [37:47] man there are a lot of questions [37:52] are there executive and bullet are the [37:55] executive and bullying tears real how [37:57] did I miss this announcement yes we do [37:59] have a Boolean and executive tier for [38:01] our patreon and they are real I don't [38:04] necessarily suggest you join those tiers [38:06] but if you feel like pissing away your [38:08] money feel free yeah it's there a joke [38:11] for just people who want to donate [38:12] because we constantly on patreon get [38:13] people that are just like I just want to [38:15] give more do you have another tier so we [38:17] created I think it was bullion boys [38:18] where all we talk about is gold bars and [38:21] you know I I it's a joke it's sarcasm [38:24] it's not like we're talking about [38:26] patreon essentially allows us to run [38:28] some of these big docu films at a loss [38:30] because often like things like the old Z [38:32] video or a good example they didn't make [38:34] money right no and we spent what a week [38:36] there to do the Z video yeah and what [38:39] three weeks editing but the Z video is a [38:41] perfect example of why we do this you [38:42] have a team that's passionate about it [38:44] and they didn't have a lot of money to [38:45] work with to and re-engineer that car [38:47] and work with it but they put everything [38:48] they had in terms of passion to make [38:50] that car and get it done so in a away [38:52] like for me I don't have a problem doing [38:55] that so much but that was the case it [38:57] was a breaking point for me because I [38:59] spent a lot of money for that trip and [39:01] we didn't make it back so that's where [39:03] the turning point for me personally as a [39:05] businessman or whatever you want to call [39:07] it I'm like Jack we can't lose money [39:09] doing this stuff you just can't so we've [39:11] had to be a lot more smart to sell my [39:13] shirt on yeah Jack Jack sold all the [39:15] supercars how many factories did you [39:17] have to take offline well thankfully uh [39:20] BMW and Audi and VW still use piano [39:23] black so I'm doing all right okay good [39:25] um what happened to the S2000 mods video [39:27] sooner or later that'll come out as many [39:30] of you may or may not have been watching [39:31] the gr86 series the original plan was to [39:35] compare that to the S2000 because of all [39:37] our projects this year I just got a lap [39:39] time done and we sort of talked about it [39:42] in between I think the S2000 outside of [39:44] maybe another set of wheel is going to [39:45] sit the way it has been for a long time [39:48] you sort of ruined that car or didn't [39:49] ruin it by widening out the fenders for [39:53] the bigger tires but past that it's [39:55] pretty much the way it's been for a long [39:56] time right it has yeah it's it's been [39:58] that way for a long time uh Kristoff [40:01] asks thoughts on Ford canceling the [40:03] fiesta and focus in Europe two of the [40:05] most iconic models will not be replaced [40:07] once this model year ends I think when [40:10] you talk to the Ford folks and I've got [40:12] to spend he and I got to spend a lot of [40:14] time with the head of Fort performance [40:15] they are focusing on being a global [40:18] brand and for them Financial For Better [40:20] or For Worse it means all of the [40:22] products they sell have to be able to be [40:24] sold in a global capacity so what that [40:28] means is if you can't sell the focus in [40:31] Fiesta here in your biggest markets it's [40:34] not going to be worth it to them so [40:35] they're going to be focusing on SUVs is [40:37] it sad yes is it the way Ford works [40:40] also yes speaking to that guy you know [40:43] each brand has its own identity and [40:45] philosophy about their products what [40:47] he's seen most proud about versus [40:48] individual products like gt350r GT500 [40:53] raptor r regular raptor is that they [40:57] have a performance variant of nearly [40:59] every vehicle they sell and that's what [41:01] he was excited about the fact that they [41:03] have such a broad number of products and [41:05] all the markets are sold in which is a [41:07] very different perspective than I'm used [41:09] to and that sort of they're business [41:11] people for their business people he's [41:14] proud that Ford performance can build [41:15] cool cars and then they make a shitload [41:18] of money [41:20] sorry [41:21] oh my god dude I hope that's a fake [41:24] account I had to put it up there I'm [41:26] like I I was like at your what you were [41:29] talking about was also amusing but when [41:30] I saw this my brain broke uh all right [41:33] we'll answer some uh more uh patreon [41:36] questions while this is going [41:38] um [41:40] I answered your question Jay [41:43] uh uh when I am streaming Spotify what I [41:47] notice or benefit from any of the [41:48] qualities depicted on your audio graphs [41:50] including your longer uh reviews so the [41:52] way the audio tests work we have a video [41:55] that you guys can look up on it [41:57] um we have a gentleman that helps us who [42:00] is a audio engineer and is a supplier [42:02] for automotive oems in the audio space [42:05] we use a series of [42:08] software programs that essentially [42:10] measure the speakers objectively and I [42:12] can tell you for a fact even at Spotify [42:14] as long as it's not horribly compressed [42:17] and you know the compression doesn't [42:18] sound like it's coming out of the [42:19] bathtub [42:21] um you can hear when an audio system is [42:24] not good even with Spotify I think [42:26] that's a fair statement isn't it Mark [42:27] you can so that's an inter I really am [42:30] into this and I don't want to get too [42:31] deep into into the woods because we [42:33] could do a whole video about it again uh [42:35] the way I test it is three ways you do [42:38] Bluetooth [42:39] try to do Bluetooth because there's a [42:41] totally different chipset for testing [42:43] Bluetooth audio in the car and almost 99 [42:45] percent of cars are not up to date [42:48] they're on the like three revisions back [42:50] or two revisions back on Bluetooth [42:51] chipsets so it's really you're not [42:54] getting the max quality and there's a [42:56] ton of compression and the the whole EQ [42:58] roll off is like okay here here's the [43:00] flat graph of it because there's so much [43:03] compression artifact like okay let's [43:04] roll off the highs and roll off the lows [43:06] and what you have left with is just the [43:08] middle part and then they do all this [43:10] noise reduction [ __ ] so Bluetooth is [43:12] really bad on a lot of cars and then I [43:14] listen to find out which one is good and [43:15] the Volvo was really good the BMWs are [43:18] typically really good and it's almost [43:19] always tied to Bowers and then uh [43:23] Spotify if you're connected through [43:24] Android auto and apple carplay wired is [43:27] really your best option Wireless is [43:29] there's some level of compression that [43:30] changes because your signal strength [43:32] changes for Wi-Fi so there's some [43:34] buffering effect but typically wired is [43:36] the best [43:37] um but in short you can you can tell it [43:38] you can tell difference I'm sorry yeah [43:40] and the audio test we do one of them is [43:42] frequency response and the other one's [43:44] just showing General curve General curve [43:46] shows whether you have too much high too [43:48] much low what frequency is being rolled [43:50] off and what's not yeah it's complicated [43:53] but it is accurate and that's why we do [43:54] it and the reason why it's not on the [43:56] screen for 40 seconds is it's YouTube [43:58] you can press you can pause it yeah and [44:00] it's hard we need to we did do an audio [44:01] testing video explaining a lot of this [44:03] but what we really need to do is sit [44:05] down and explain the graphs the two [44:07] major ones you're going to look at is [44:09] frequency response and SPL which is [44:11] sound pressure level you just look at [44:13] those graphs it should be very very like [44:17] flat as much as possible there's always [44:19] going to be a roll off in the highs and [44:20] a little bit on the low because the [44:21] speakers can't produce the entire [44:23] frequency range in a car it's impossible [44:24] so when you see a graph that's like the [44:27] base is up here and there's huge drops [44:29] all over the place that's typically [44:31] where you hear it audibly because your [44:32] ears are really sensitive to changes in [44:36] like sharp changes in tone like or are [44:39] sharp changes in volume change and [44:41] that's sometimes they roll off volume [44:42] two which is the worst but when you see [44:44] a graph that's more flat that's [44:46] typically a system that's had more money [44:48] or time spent in engineering that's [44:50] that's where I'll leave it with that and [44:52] what what's the worst audio system we've [44:54] heard to just quickly answer one of the [44:56] super chat questions [44:58] the Ridgeline was probably the worst car [45:00] we've ever tested it sounds like [45:02] literally phone speakers in the car [45:04] everything about it is bad it's it's got [45:07] the worst if you ever want to get in [45:08] there [45:10] um [45:10] so the the test that I did was a song [45:13] that started with acoustic and I got [45:15] electronic like bass in it so the [45:17] acoustic is like oh yeah everything's [45:19] level and then the bass kicks in and all [45:21] the acoustic guitar disappears out of [45:24] the song because it's like trying to [45:26] protect the sound system because it [45:28] can't reproduce the bass I mean it's [45:29] like almost comical how bad it was they [45:32] spent probably 20 on it like on the back [45:35] end if that 20 bucks yeah I'm sure the [45:37] piece Parts alone were like ten dollars [45:39] uh will you review uh the LC 500 coupe [45:43] with the new handling characteristics [45:44] it's an LC 500 so we will try to get one [45:46] in the Press Fleet yeah for sure um any [45:49] news on the upcoming rear-wheel drive [45:51] six cylinder platform for Mazda we will [45:54] be doing a video in the following months [45:56] on that don't be too worried about that [45:58] uh any thoughts on the [46:01] b9.5 A4 I'm looking to replace my G20 [46:05] 330i Audi and us have a interesting [46:09] relationship [46:10] um they aren't particularly good about [46:12] getting his press cars they were very [46:13] kind and finally got us an RS3 but they [46:17] are they just don't care about the [46:18] Midwest basically we have to be in one [46:20] of the coasts to get cars from them in [46:22] any real capacity so that's where we're [46:24] at if I can ever get an A4 I'll tell you [46:26] but [46:27] the three series is a pretty good [46:30] platform we have an es right now I [46:32] picked it up because we gave the Es as a [46:34] um one of the luxury or mid-sized car [46:37] contenders and being in it while it is [46:39] very quiet and it is very comfortable [46:40] compared to you know modern claw or one [46:43] of the rear-wheel drive platforms it's [46:45] definitely lacking in any form of [46:46] Dynamics [46:49] um I'm trying to think what else uh will [46:51] we be able to get a m340i if any of you [46:54] guys wanted to take a whiskey shot at my [46:55] mention of the b-58 uh I've asked BMW so [46:59] I could drive the rear wheel drive [47:01] variant of that m340i for literally [47:03] years and BMW much like Audi is terrible [47:06] at getting his cars they try their best [47:08] but the Midwest is not a priority so [47:10] there you go [47:12] no I know because we're not real America [47:15] here [47:16] like whenever we go to these press [47:18] events because every press event is in [47:19] California like it started to trigger me [47:21] more and more I'm not like a big like [47:23] stumping for the Midwest because let's [47:26] face it our weather sucks it's there's [47:28] nothing really to do here the people are [47:30] pretty real Down to Earth but it's not [47:31] like oh my God you gotta move to [47:33] Illinois nobody says that it's like the [47:35] joking Noah thing about uh when he was [47:38] on the Bulls he joked around about [47:39] what's so great about Cleveland yeah [47:41] nobody says they take their vacation to [47:43] Cleveland it's it's true nobody's like [47:45] oh I got it I gotta come now I gotta [47:47] hang out in the northwest suburbs Jack [47:49] and Mark but it pisses me off because [47:51] it's always like the whole world doesn't [47:53] revolve around California's like [47:54] mentality of how cars work there and [47:57] people work there it's it's so removed [47:59] from reality of the rest of the country [48:00] especially the rural areas more so [48:03] uh [48:06] okay now I just lost every we just got [48:08] quiet because we realized you just [48:09] sacrificed your entire relationship with [48:11] California it just just fell into the [48:13] ocean for you [48:15] um all right uh Mark can you share your [48:17] experiences with music streaming service [48:19] title versus Amazon music [48:22] um [48:24] what what do you use I use Spotify [48:26] because I'm a basic [ __ ] and Mark uses [48:28] Amazon because he loves Jeff Bezos it's [48:31] because I want one service where I don't [48:34] have 10 different subscriptions once [48:37] Amazon went to like lossless or near [48:39] lossless audio I was good for that I [48:41] mean it's already tied into Prime and [48:43] all of that five minute MPR you do get [48:46] like Spotify is better but Spotify [48:47] originally you could only sign up with [48:49] an account if you had a Facebook account [48:51] do you remember doing that no like they [48:52] were heavily integrated into Facebook [48:54] and I'm just like Auntie yeah even [48:56] though I have an Instagram thing for [48:58] Savage geese but anyway it's it's [48:59] nonsense [49:01] um [49:02] can you Michael ask Mark can you comment [49:06] on the historical aspect of new slash [49:09] used car affordability where do you [49:11] think the market will be in five ten [49:12] years from now for background I'm in my [49:14] mid-20s with a well above average salary [49:16] and I cannot I still have to drop out of [49:19] the market because I couldn't swallow [49:20] paying forty thousand dollars for a [49:21] launcher and or fifty thousand dollars [49:23] for a gr Corolla or Type R [49:26] you answer that I I mean you know how I [49:29] feel about it cars are a shitload of [49:32] money now and I they are going to get [49:34] more money they're going to continue to [49:36] cost more till people stop buying cars [49:39] and I think that's just going to be the [49:40] way it is used vehicles I think [49:44] because of interest rates the way they [49:46] are going will come down in price out of [49:48] necessity but I I honestly I I don't [49:51] know uh [49:54] I don't know I don't have a good answer [49:55] for it when it comes to reliability [49:57] though and the concerns when it comes to [49:59] uh like how these vehicles are going to [50:02] hold up they're going to be a lot more [50:04] expensive to repair than they used to be [50:06] particularly as all these vehicles move [50:08] towards hybridization and EVS I think [50:10] that because of the repair cost used car [50:13] prices for more commodity Vehicles will [50:14] come down but [50:16] that's it yeah I think you're going to [50:17] see a correction this year I mean you're [50:19] already starting to see it in used car [50:20] prices so once that kind of Tanks you [50:22] know then inventories come back up and [50:24] nobody wants to pay seven percent [50:26] interest on car loans like the average [50:28] the reason why there's no T in my [50:29] alphabet is all the t is in me [50:31] [Laughter] [50:34] um man that was horrible forgive me uh [50:37] Mark oh you don't you haven't [50:38] transitioned look this is probably the [50:40] the only uh female that's on here that's [50:43] fake [50:46] I had I had to do it oh wait a second [50:48] hold on a second Jack let me get this [50:50] banner up because it's [50:54] [Laughter] [50:57] um what's your uh what is mine and [51:00] Mark's favorite coffee beverage [51:02] and is there a spot open for a grumpy [51:05] Cameo from Scott okay uh so first let's [51:08] do the drink one [51:10] all right unless you started on [51:12] I am a cappuccino or latte man [51:17] how about you mark That's it yeah like I [51:19] thought you like a whole bunch of stuff [51:20] I do I like I like some fruitful drinks [51:23] but now I'm I'm going hard on the pure [51:25] like latte or cappuccino I've been [51:27] aeropressed at homes every morning I I [51:31] would love to do you really yeah I do oh [51:33] my God I think we're joking [51:35] no I should have bougie I should have [51:38] known uh I'm in there with my my farm to [51:40] table beans grinding them up every [51:42] morning while I sit there with my apron [51:44] on [51:44] uh what about you mark so Mark does have [51:47] a dairy intolerance so he's he's moved [51:50] from uh soy to Oat uh yeah so the the [51:54] back story about this to take a break [51:56] from the questions is I used to work at [51:59] Motorola back in the day and this was [52:01] like Greg and all them and it was like [52:04] 10 of us guys and this is what Motorola [52:06] was like Motorola before it was uh [52:08] Lenovo and they were just like they were [52:10] done like they were done and nobody [52:13] cared about anything so we'd come into [52:15] work and they because we were [52:16] contractors at that point they literally [52:18] took our I.T team and they didn't know [52:20] where to put us so they put us in the [52:22] Law Department with all these Motorola [52:23] lawyers and we were so obnoxious that [52:26] they kicked us out of the department [52:28] literally had the like the facilities [52:30] guys come Boomer cubes out and they put [52:33] us in the main hallway in the building [52:35] like when you walked out they just built [52:37] our cubes in the hallway because they [52:39] didn't want us to be around anybody else [52:40] so we'd go and like screw it none of the [52:44] management care so we'd go on like four [52:45] hour lunches like literally we would [52:47] only come into work to go to lunch to [52:49] hang out because everything else was [52:51] like a [ __ ] show so we'd go to lunch [52:54] first we'd go bowling and then we'd go [52:57] like let's get like an appetizer and [52:59] then we go get lunch and then we go [53:01] somewhere else and then we go get ice [53:02] cream every day and it was like a course [53:04] of a year of getting like hot fudge [53:07] sundaes and turtles Sundaes and banana [53:10] splits that like one day my buddy Greg [53:12] he had his his family's like Exploder [53:15] and it was like brand new in the leather [53:17] that fake leather smell I I had this [53:20] gurgling in my stomach and they [53:22] literally had to pull over a gas station [53:23] I barely made it and that was the [53:24] turning point for me after that day [53:26] every time I had Dairy I was like done [53:28] for but it was like years of abuse like [53:31] literally years of abuse so uh now I [53:33] don't like coffee so I just drink chives [53:35] with oat milk and it's as close as I can [53:37] get to my Dairy fix uh Jakey asks any [53:40] updates on a long-term MDX Type S we [53:42] have that vehicle we're gonna be doing a [53:44] a series of videos we have two long-term [53:46] testers right now that oems gave us we [53:50] have a Mazda 3 all-wheel drive turbo I [53:52] can't tell you how many times people [53:54] have asked us to do a long-term current [53:56] gen miles the three we talked to modest [53:58] about it they gave us a loan for six [54:00] months so we're gonna try to pile on [54:02] like 20 000 miles in six months I'll let [54:04] you know how that goes but oh that's [54:07] what I forgot to upload that the one [54:09] clip [54:11] um I might be able to upload it [54:14] um for people to see [54:17] about the transmission thing oh yeah so [54:20] the type S has a gearbox problem it goes [54:22] into neutral all the time which we'll be [54:24] talking about in our actual video when [54:26] that comes out yeah I'm not going to put [54:27] it in our Mazda 3 uh it's a brand new [54:31] vehicle it's an all-wheel drive turbo [54:32] every single option because it's a press [54:34] car that's how it works it already has a [54:36] horrendous headliner rattle but you know [54:39] you're about to see what's going to [54:41] happen with that vehicle long term I did [54:43] bring it in for the transmission issue [54:44] because I had a flat tire like I [54:47] literally talked to three people there I [54:48] I said this is a press car it's [54:51] Automotive media and it's from the [54:52] manufacturer can you please take a look [54:54] at this if the if the trans ECU needs to [54:56] be reset for like relearn [54:59] um I talked to the the tech I talked to [55:01] the service manager and I talked to the [55:03] the main guy who handles service calls [55:05] and they're like oh everything's all [55:06] done I'm like oh so what was it the [55:08] trans he's like the text just like oh it [55:10] does that in sport mode I'm like yeah [55:12] that's not what I said and it happens in [55:14] every mode it doesn't matter what in [55:16] Comfort mode it does it so they [55:18] basically didn't do anything so I'm [55:19] gonna see uh once I record it I'll go [55:23] back and bring it back and kind of [55:24] really like hey what is really wrong [55:26] with this is it from the factory that [55:28] way or is it just a problem but anyway [55:30] yeah uh Dan who's a hero oh sir Chris [55:33] I'll answer correct I'll ask answer the [55:36] answer Chris's question first what do [55:38] you miss most about your LC 500 do you [55:40] regret getting rid of it uh I missed [55:43] that car a lot [55:44] um but I didn't I didn't drive it it was [55:46] a car I really wanted I thought it was [55:48] like it was everything I wanted in a car [55:50] at that point in time but drove the hell [55:52] out of that thing dude I drove that [55:53] thing like none other and it wasn't [55:54] designed to drive it the way that I did [55:56] and I think that's what broke it for me [55:58] is we went to the track a couple times [55:59] not not because it was my plan to do [56:02] that I just wanted to see what it was [56:03] like and when we were out there with [56:04] Jack's vet his uh Grand Sport the thing [56:07] was fast it really wasn't pulling the [56:09] straights on the Grand Sport yeah I mean [56:11] and I drove the piss out of it but the [56:13] problem was is it didn't have the [56:14] cooling to support its capabilities it [56:17] needs stiffer suspension like a better [56:19] suspension to control the weight it [56:21] needed a trans cooler and it needed an [56:23] oil cooler all three of those things [56:24] would not be the biggest deal to do and [56:27] I would buy another one but I would not [56:28] buy it without that because I'd always [56:30] get to the threshold of having that [56:31] there for like 10 or 15 minutes and went [56:33] over here no it wasn't even that in the [56:35] heat like it would literally four laps [56:37] of me driving and the trans would reach [56:39] us [56:39] oh yeah right no the oil would the oil [56:42] would be in red like every time I drove [56:44] it uh Dan who was a hero and thank you [56:47] Dan for being a long-term supporter of [56:49] this channel [56:50] uh long-term plans for Savage geese have [56:53] you considered moving to warmer climates [56:55] both of our significant others and [56:57] families are out here in the Midwest so [56:59] that's pretty much where we're stuck uh [57:01] posting to different platforms such as [57:04] Rumble [57:05] um we post to I think we're going to [57:08] start posting on Amazon again [57:09] and um [57:13] uh our stuff is about to go up on [57:15] Samsung assuming that goes through but [57:18] not really I mean YouTube is sort of our [57:19] home I mean if this Outlet or platform [57:23] dies and for whatever reason we continue [57:25] to do this we'll probably move to [57:26] another platform but I think you know [57:29] what would you be honest you you're [57:31] gonna move into another platform if this [57:33] does yeah I'm going back to corporate [57:34] work yelling at all my employees and my [57:36] factories Jack's gonna have a job in the [57:38] corporate world and I'm gonna ride this [57:40] out until it absolutely crumbles to the [57:42] ground I think it doesn't live in my [57:43] yard yeah I'm gonna like live in Jack's [57:45] basement that's for sure my goal like [57:47] there's days where when Jack and I have [57:49] this conversation and it's a real [57:50] conversation to have [57:52] um doing this six to seven days a week [57:54] is not fun a lot and the the amount of [57:57] stress personally that I'm under to make [57:59] this work and then work and then try to [58:00] be creative I wake up days and I'm like [58:03] I just want to go back to my corporate [58:04] job it was it was easy not like easy [58:06] like I talked about the Motorola story [58:08] my corporate jobs that was that's not [58:10] how I was really liked all that you are [58:12] the I.T director that just disappeared I [58:15] gotta go I gotta fund the local ice [58:16] cream shop this week [58:18] um my real my real jobs were hard but [58:21] they were never as hard as this I mean I [58:23] I just don't get a break so anyway [58:26] um expansion of savage geese my goal is [58:28] more projects our goal this year is to [58:30] do one docu style film or big video [58:32] every single month that's why you guys [58:34] watch this stuff [58:36] um so that's what we're trying to do we [58:37] have a lot of big projects that are [58:39] hopefully gonna come through and you'll [58:41] see a lot more like the c806 stock you [58:43] film or those the Nissan Z film or any [58:46] of those big videos where you see [58:47] engineers and people and we try to tell [58:50] you a story that's a little bit more [58:51] time Timeless and less disposable than a [58:53] lot of the standard review or content [58:56] that is put out on the internet [58:58] perhaps more satirical content yeah why [59:01] not we're trying to do Wednesday videos [59:03] from now on we'll uh were there going to [59:05] be topical or be a little bit less [59:07] formal we're never going to do skits or [59:09] anything like that but that's not who we [59:11] are I mean I I could easily do Skits the [59:13] Tom Todd stuff was hilarious you know I [59:16] mean that's the type of stuff that I [59:17] would do yeah I mean there's some [59:18] classic stuff to do but to keep up that [59:21] shtick in every video becomes like [59:24] it'd be I can't do that like it has to [59:26] be very metered out and people are not [59:28] watching at least our stuff for the [59:30] comedy no one likes us [59:32] they might like the sarcasm to a certain [59:35] extent and some of the [ __ ] that's [59:36] in it if it was me I would have like [59:38] probably 500 people watching because I'd [59:40] be such an [ __ ] all the time but I [59:42] have to dial it back especially with [59:44] this guy uh one of the Bronco video [59:46] comes out like it's coming up Friday and [59:49] you'll see like I'm such a dick in the [59:51] shop and I I caught it together where [59:53] every time I had a snide commented Jack [59:54] is just like completely ignoring me so [59:56] he can get back to like the actual [59:58] business that's what it's like uh today [60:01] in the shop we were talking about uh [60:02] something and it dawned on me I'm like [60:04] man when I'm like 45 and I'm burnt out [60:08] with life I'm and I'm a pure business [60:10] man I'm gonna be such an [ __ ] yeah [60:12] yeah you add another like 10 oh well [60:14] this is the thing like when you're young [60:16] you have a different mentality you have [60:18] a lot more talents for stuff and then [60:19] you attack on every 10 years you're like [60:21] a totally different person more so with [60:23] business and depending on your [60:25] relationships you're gonna put up with [60:26] less if you're on your fifth divorce you [60:28] know I'm only 17. you're not there yet [60:31] you know you're going to clearly look at [60:33] this person and be like I the first time [60:35] there's a whiff of like drama you're [60:37] like see ya oh Mark's always like oh the [60:39] old bones well did you see uh the lady [60:42] from Amazon or what's the I don't I'm [60:44] sorry I don't remember her name the guy [60:46] that was the guy the girl who was [60:47] married to Bezos she got remarried and I [60:49] guess she's getting divorced for the [60:50] second time already like you know she's [60:53] probably like yeah [60:55] you know I I don't need these it's [60:57] easier to pull the rip cord yeah exactly [61:00] do you think the industry will shift [61:01] from Cars to trucks is it indicative [61:04] um of a post-apocalyptic world where [61:07] Road Zone exists uh [61:10] that's a good question honestly Dan I [61:12] think the reason why people are pushed [61:14] towards trucks and SUVs versus cars is [61:17] purely a utility perspective and [61:19] packaging you look at the new Ram EV I [61:21] Know Dan doesn't like EVS but that thing [61:24] is the size of is it's not going to look [61:26] like the concept vehicle I would be [61:28] shocked to look anything like the [61:30] concept vehicle but that thing is [61:31] enormous 50 ads huge and because it's so [61:36] big uh they there's so much more utility [61:39] and flexibility for the OEM now a truck [61:42] or an SUV can be that everything vehicle [61:44] so [61:46] um all right Scott what do you think of [61:49] the best [61:51] what do you think the best Porsche [61:52] purchase would be as a driver's car [61:55] investment for 30k or close must be a [61:58] manual transmission you think these cars [62:00] will ever return to prices like they [62:01] were two three years ago [62:03] um [62:04] probably honestly investment's hard [62:06] because all cars are for the most part [62:08] bad Investments but something that isn't [62:11] going to just crater into the ground [62:12] value-wise [62:14] I don't know like I can't you're gonna [62:16] hear this from everyone Cayman or maybe [62:17] a 996 911 if the IMs bearings were done [62:20] it's just they're a lot of money and [62:22] that's the other thing you're buying a [62:23] car that's thirty thousand dollars now [62:25] if anything bad happens to that Porsche [62:28] when we do our Cayman video or 987.2 it [62:30] may be thirty forty fifty thousand [62:32] dollars now that car was you know nearly [62:35] a six figure vehicle when it was new [62:36] particularly when you included inflation [62:38] some if something bad happens [62:42] you are going to have a bad time [62:44] financially it's going to be a lot worse [62:45] than a traditional 30 000 card Effect so [62:48] just keep that in mind [62:51] um [62:52] you know I'll ask you know as a premium [62:55] patreon number [62:58] um are we gonna do any fan meetup events [63:00] like we did at TMP several years ago I [63:02] am working with Chicago auto pros and [63:05] Autobahn as we speak I'm doing a track [63:07] day [63:08] autocross car show viewer Meetup at [63:12] Autobahn sometime this spring or summer [63:14] uh the proceeds will go so the proceeds [63:19] that don't cover the track rental so [63:21] it's going to be run by Chicago Auto [63:22] Pros but the car show element and the [63:25] gate fees I'm trying to make sure all of [63:27] the autocross fees as well go to a local [63:31] animal charity a dog charity because I'm [63:33] a dog person and pets are amazing I'm [63:36] gonna let you run with that dude because [63:38] uh he's not gonna run the event but he [63:40] will be there we're trying to get some [63:41] other YouTubers to be there as well the [63:43] track day the autocross should be fun [63:44] it'll be at Autobahn [63:46] um yeah all right so there's that uh [63:49] what are your top five manual [63:52] transmissions this is from Eric Lowe uh [63:55] well since I am paid for by Honda CTR [63:59] ctrcs Civic Integra Type R Civic Type R [64:02] the fl5 type R and even if you moved you [64:06] could see a Civic yeah no uh I think the [64:09] best ones modern history are the GT350 [64:13] or whatever yeah GT350 the Tremec 60s TR [64:16] 6060 so it would be the similar [ __ ] in [64:18] the Camaro right I mean yeah the to me [64:22] it's GT350 it's the gt3s they basically [64:25] feel the same time 1.2 and 992 Uh [64:28] current fl5 CTR no joke as a front wheel [64:31] drive it's a very good gearbox uh [64:33] Hellcat yeah yeah surprisingly it's very [64:36] industrial but very very mechanical yeah [64:38] it's crazy but I guess you could say the [64:40] same thing about the Vipers it's like [64:42] it's got that same like [64:44] it's a perfect transmission for Jack [64:46] because well maybe not so much now you [64:48] smoothed out your your shifting but [64:50] before you know this guy was like uh a [64:53] robot arm you know in a factory it's [64:55] like for my mt82 with my mgw yeah the [64:57] guy shotgun Blossom I would say that's [65:00] 2000 is probably one of the best despite [65:02] it being a little bit finicky Blackwing [65:04] gearbox [65:05] that's another Tremec unit yeah that's [65:07] it for me [65:09] um all right there are quite a few more [65:11] so hopefully people totally disappear [65:13] from this [65:15] um [65:17] love that this is from Chris Rice [65:21] yeah this is from Chris rocks don't hit [65:23] me uh love what you did with the gr 86 [65:26] versus super versus Z on the same tire [65:28] and breaking upgrades would love uh [65:31] enjoying seeing more of those comparison [65:34] tests uh on older lightly modified [65:37] sports cars [65:39] honestly we have some comparative [65:42] comparison tests coming up and they're [65:44] all going to be an re71 rs's I don't [65:46] know about older cars because that [65:48] involves getting viewers involved and [65:49] having their cars modified and all that [65:51] other fun stuff [65:53] um our comparison test no surprise we're [65:55] trying to do a gr Corolla a launcher and [65:57] CTR Golf R Video we have that four liter [66:01] that is double Wishbone from Germany and [66:04] the Corvette one coming along and a [66:07] couple others this year I'm trying to do [66:09] one with the manual Supra and a couple [66:12] other vehicles but I know people like [66:15] them it's an easy one and I'd like the [66:16] philosophical almond Brit who um is [66:19] still sort of the lead instructor at [66:21] huddleban Country Club it's a tremendous [66:24] driver and he does give very very good [66:25] feedback and he's very consistent so I [66:28] know you guys like it so we're going to [66:29] try to put those together they are a [66:31] bear to make though oh yeah it's it's [66:34] like 10 times longer but I mean it's [66:36] like anything Enthusiast related right [66:38] like when when you're catering to an [66:41] Enthusiast like there's a different [66:42] level of expectation for those types of [66:44] cars versus like a commodity thing like [66:46] we could [ __ ] out like the Equinox that [66:49] we have right now speaking of which [66:50] we're going to take a quick break uh and [66:52] show you this is a this is an exclusive [66:56] live stream review that I'm gonna play [66:58] for everybody right now [67:01] Blake and Timmy from Tick Tock beg me to [67:03] do a video on my brand new Chevy Equinox [67:05] here we have the Chevy Equinox with two [67:09] gauge clusters there's a speedometer [67:11] here and then this is telling me how [67:13] fast the engine is going [67:15] um so this when this goes High the [67:18] engine's going really fast we have a a [67:21] fuel economy meter here and this is [67:23] whether I'm hot or cold so what we do is [67:25] we can hit this button and it'll turn on [67:27] the heat and then the airbags heat up [67:29] just in case there's an accident [67:31] we come over here and this is a one of [67:34] my favorite touches everybody this is [67:36] the badass bow tie right here that they [67:38] put on the shifter so when I shift down [67:40] um [67:43] it's a little hard to shift [67:45] um [67:46] I guess I just need to go to the gemi or [67:48] something guys uh so there's a this [67:51] button here is uh hidden behind the [67:53] shifter it's a sport mode button so you [67:56] hit it and it flashes and it lets you [67:57] know that you're ready to go this is a [67:59] great place for chai lattes [68:02] um I get oat milk in mine or typically [68:03] soy when I feel like I'm having a little [68:06] bit more feelings towards somebody I I [68:10] feel a little bit extra charge so I have [68:12] a soy latte and it just dials me back to [68:14] the next level so I can talk about maybe [68:17] cuddling I'm not sure but anyway there's [68:19] two cup holders and then we get to the [68:21] Crown Jewel The Equinox interior this is [68:24] the 17 inch touchscreen display everyone [68:27] and if I want to listen to music it's [68:30] very easy to navigate it's like my home [68:32] screen at home at home when I touch I [68:36] can just control everything through here [68:38] so when I'm listening [68:43] it's a little little loud for everybody [68:45] that's my friend's music he likes to [68:48] listen to that headbanger stuff I'm I'm [68:50] more into classic vinyl myself I have a [68:52] couple record players at home and um I [68:55] think it just sounds better than CD but [68:57] I think anyway aside from that we got a [69:00] lot of features I'll cover in the next [69:01] video [69:02] everybody catch you later [69:06] I can't believe I work with this guy [69:09] oh really that was just a clever way of [69:11] catching up with like with the comments [69:13] anyway go ahead [69:15] um oh [ __ ] uh let me get back anyway so [69:18] my point of commodity cars it's way [69:20] easier to do a shitbox equinox where [69:22] nobody literally cares about production [69:23] value or anything you just they just [69:25] want to make a tick tock video yeah [69:27] that's it [69:28] man we got a lot more questions [69:30] [Music] [69:31] so we are doing a Discord it is all set [69:34] up we just need to activate it and we [69:36] haven't had time to activate a Discord [69:39] and actually make sure that it's [69:41] moderated correctly and it doesn't turn [69:43] into an internet hellscape but yes we do [69:45] have a Discord [69:47] um after working as a service advisor [69:50] for BMW for 15 years [69:52] it seems only two concerns customers [69:55] have anymore why isn't my Apple carplay [69:57] working and why do I need Brakes and [69:59] Tires already are you guys privy to [70:01] engineering advances and tire compounds [70:03] that will allow them to hold up to [70:05] better uh hold up better to instant [70:08] torque being created by fully hybridized [70:11] and fully electric motors [70:13] um to be honest I think that's the [70:15] biggest problem that both roads tires [70:18] and consumables are going to have as as [70:20] everything moves to EV trucks and big EV [70:23] SUVs you're going to see a massive [70:26] increase in consumable cost because [70:28] tires are going to wear out faster [70:29] brakes won't but I think a lot of [70:31] suspension components and road damage is [70:33] going to get worse yeah I think the tire [70:36] problem you're just going to see tires [70:37] get replaced sooner we're doing a video [70:39] and it's my fault for not having it out [70:40] and scripted yet but we're doing a [70:42] technical series with Bridgestone it's [70:45] not sponsored by Bridgestone they were [70:46] the only Tire Company to ever say yes to [70:49] answering or engineering questions in [70:51] great detail on summer Tire technology [70:54] walking you through technically the [70:55] differences in how tread blocks work how [70:58] different rubber compounds work why [71:00] tires wear the way they do and one on [71:01] snow tires and quite frankly how all [71:05] season tires have advanced to the point [71:06] where well you should always get snow [71:08] tires how they are now more [71:10] let's call it a jack of all trades no [71:14] pun intended how there have a broader [71:16] bandwidth of use well the other part too [71:18] is you have cars that are bigger like [71:20] everything's bigger and heavier and this [71:22] is going back to a point I was talking [71:23] to you on the shop today [71:25] um you know it's funny going back to [71:27] older cars that had an average weight of [71:29] three thousand pounds now everything's [71:31] gone up to like 3 500 or like 4 000 [71:33] pounds because everybody wants an SUV [71:35] and that was kind of like the the light [71:37] car fun to car thing was phased out [71:39] based on people's desire to have bigger [71:41] vehicles so now like the concept of like [71:44] what Lotus was doing or like McLaren you [71:46] can forget about that because it's too [71:47] expensive nobody buys it [71:49] um now we have the regulations kind of [71:51] killing off uh internal combustion or [71:53] like fun internal combustion for like [71:55] these downsized engines and now we're [71:57] seeing like all these EV pushes so EVS [72:00] are way heavier they're like twice the [72:02] weight of an old you know the older cars [72:03] and you have like Concepts now coming [72:05] out like the ram we're talking about [72:06] that today the concept of a three row [72:08] pickup truck which you know 100 is gonna [72:11] happen so you're talking about now a 9 [72:13] 000 pound truck three road truck bigger [72:16] heavier in every capacity more materials [72:19] huge batteries and that's like three [72:22] cars based on our our old cars that they [72:24] used to be so to power that level of [72:27] weight and to power that level of [72:29] horsepower and torque you have bigger [72:31] tires bigger and bigger tires and they [72:33] have to be stickier to put down the [72:35] power which means you can't have both [72:37] you can't have an all-season compound [72:39] that can control that type of weight and [72:42] load and lateral load and like [72:44] longitudal load on an all-season tire so [72:47] more of these tires are becoming more [72:48] and more separated to Summer and now [72:51] they're having an all-season option and [72:53] they literally get obliterated in 20 000 [72:55] miles if that so you're going to see [72:57] this on more and more products as the [73:00] especially with the EVS because there's [73:01] no way they can manage power without the [73:03] electronics on the tire uh and now tires [73:06] are crazy like that the RDX tire was 450 [73:09] for an all-season MDX yeah sorry the MDX [73:13] I mean 450 for one tire and this is [73:15] really common now to see Tires over 250 [73:18] or 300 on these mainstream cars per tire [73:20] that's a huge consumable cost that [73:22] people don't think about and it's one [73:23] thing obviously the viewers on here know [73:25] to look at that like if you're gonna buy [73:26] a car look at what the tires cost before [73:28] you get into it and you're like oh [ __ ] [73:30] like me with the X7 I'm like Jack's like [73:32] well I can get you tires I'm like yeah [73:34] there's really only tight two Tire [73:36] options that are made for that car too [73:38] one's a summer and one's a half-assed [73:40] All Season they're all like 500 a piece [73:43] and I'm like dude I'm not spending [73:53] it's ridiculous [73:55] um all right I'm gonna answer a couple [73:56] more patreon questions [73:58] um Joseph who's a GT4 owner think about [74:01] going to a one-car garage again uh [74:05] thoughts on the G80 g82 M3 or maybe is [74:09] it the M2 I can't remember this M3 or [74:11] the M2 we're doing an M2 video so I can [74:13] answer that question in the future but [74:15] uh the M3 compared to a GT4 is going to [74:18] feel awfully numb but a whole lot faster [74:20] yeah for sure yep I don't think you'll [74:23] be all that happy man if I went from a [74:24] GT4 to uh [74:27] a M3 I mean yeah the practicality will [74:30] be great in having a less substantial [74:32] payment would be great yeah but the car [74:35] is really numb [74:37] um [74:40] uh Jeffrey uh with model 3 prices [74:43] falling is there a better choice over [74:45] you is it a better choice of a used [74:48] hybrid or plug-in hybrid vehicles [74:50] looking at a model 3 versus an ES300 [74:52] hybrid Honda Clarity or Honda Accord [74:54] Hybrid [74:56] you had a gentleman that you used to [74:58] work with who had a model 3 for three [75:00] years in the midwest you want to walk [75:01] them yeah so I met up with my [75:03] ex-co-workers and uh he leased a model 3 [75:07] and he [75:10] I don't know he didn't have the extended [75:12] range he had the regular one so at the [75:14] end of three years he was done with it [75:15] because of the range anxiety and I'm [75:17] like okay well that's everybody that you [75:19] know so he started with like a 220 mile [75:21] range by the end of three years he [75:23] barely got 170 and every time he got [75:26] down to like that 10 15 mile range it [75:29] was reducing the power output of the car [75:32] and granted he drove it pretty hard but [75:33] he's like I'm never doing that again so [75:36] the batteries regardless of Tesla even [75:38] on all the updates there's going to be [75:40] degradation depending on the weather [75:41] that you're in we talk about this all [75:43] the time people like don't talk about it [75:44] but if you're in cold or extreme hot and [75:47] you drive it hard and you're constantly [75:48] up and down up and down on that battery [75:50] or if you're like you're on a fast [75:51] charger all the time there's gonna be [75:52] degradation they've tried to build it in [75:54] the packs like they build overhead in [75:56] the packs for that you know to make up [75:58] for it but it's still there so can you [75:59] live with that with the model 3 the [76:02] compromise associated with it or would [76:04] you rather pay for gas just buy an ES300 [76:07] or a Honda Accord which you know while [76:10] they will not be essentially free to run [76:12] in that regards they won't have those [76:15] long-term issues and give you some more [76:16] flexibility I would buy the es [76:18] personally or the Honda Accord if you're [76:19] looking for that Frugal McDougall pseudo [76:22] luxury car to roll around in but [76:24] yeah uh all right I'll answer I know [76:27] there are a ton of questions from Super [76:28] Chat but I'll go through a couple more [76:30] uh patreon questions and we'll go back [76:32] to them later [76:34] holy crap uh sorry guys there's a lot of [76:37] questions [76:38] um unrelated to cars Mark what messaging [76:41] app do you recommend [76:43] for privacy [76:45] well I use threema and it's kind of like [76:49] like signal and all of those that aren't [76:52] you know there's a lot of other ones [76:53] that have been publicized but threema is [76:55] probably the best in terms of security [76:58] they have three months for business and [77:00] then three months only paid you can't [77:01] get it for free and it's cheap but it's [77:04] encrypted end to end uh you know so like [77:07] by it's not gonna use Grindr no I'm not [77:09] doing this grinder so anyway yeah I'm [77:11] not going to give you the technical [77:12] breakdown but I use threema personally [77:13] there's a lot of benefits to it and if [77:15] you know how to like make sure your [77:17] phone is secure it should be safe you [77:19] have to make sure that you have a [77:21] password set on your phone or encryption [77:23] especially on iPhone because it uses [77:24] that if you don't have that set then [77:26] people can get into the database of the [77:28] phone and steal it so again like [77:30] everything you have to do due diligence [77:32] to protect your data uh if you could [77:34] only choose one fun manual only Japanese [77:37] German car [77:38] to have as a second car to drive and [77:40] hold on to for 10 to 20 years what would [77:44] it be assuming your max budget is like [77:46] sixty five thousand dollars [77:48] you you tell me bro that's 60 000 is [77:51] hard for me because I I mean I most my [77:53] cars are like 450 500 000. I my [77:57] influencer money goes in man it's [77:58] incredible because I I did a commercial [78:00] for a Type R man [78:03] oh type R there you go I spent two days [78:06] and didn't get a dollar [78:08] um two uh man second car makes it hard [78:11] because that to me that rules out things [78:12] like the type R joking aside in some of [78:15] the four-door piles [78:17] 10 to 20 years [78:20] and you want German or American I'm [78:22] sorry German or Japanese I mean ND Miata [78:26] yeah that's I hate to say be that guy or [78:29] I honestly I'd buy American at that [78:30] price point I mean for 60 to 70 under 65 [78:34] 000 and you want to keep it for a long [78:36] time a vet or a Viper would be amazing [78:38] for that money [78:40] of that a Viper would be even better I [78:42] mean honestly if you get like a Gen 4 [78:44] Viper as much as I didn't love that [78:46] thing it's already old you're gonna have [78:48] a unique experience for over a decade [78:51] or like a C6 Z06 yeah no good good point [78:56] oh you're you're gonna show them like [78:57] somebody somebody mentioned uh the 3ma [78:59] article on ours Technica which I did not [79:01] see yesterday I just want to see what [79:03] they say like it's probably gonna be [79:05] like oh three mode just [ __ ] the bed [79:08] no there's vulnerabilities with Remo now [79:11] I I don't I don't know I'm gonna go back [79:13] to uh oh [79:15] um something that I will bring up that [79:16] someone asked me earlier on patreon [79:19] um as far as collaborations with oems uh [79:22] oems uh other YouTubers go [79:25] um we've we did one recently with a [79:27] journalist outlet for the Kia ev6 GT I'm [79:32] I'm open to do more in the future I [79:34] think we're gonna do one with Georgia [79:35] Moto man and uh one of these days we'll [79:37] have [79:38] um debit a press event with us we'll [79:40] shoot a video [79:42] um uh we're not opposed to it it just [79:44] becomes a logistic headache with how [79:46] tighter schedule is we also are doing a [79:49] mark IV super video if there's any [79:51] chance that Alban is watching us [79:52] currently goth at albon we shot our mark [79:55] IV super video with albon that's [79:57] basically done we just need to shoot [79:59] some of our b-roll and shoot our shop [80:00] segment but you'll be seeing that in the [80:02] next month or so that will be a good one [80:04] I know you guys have been asking for a [80:05] long [80:06] long time uh two more patreons Mark and [80:11] then I'll I'll go to the main questions [80:13] the main questions [80:15] oh my God [80:16] trying to pick ones that [80:22] after the CRX video I got really [80:24] interested in a affordable driver's car [80:27] what is a good older driver's car that [80:29] you can actually buy such as an older [80:31] Civic Etc what about what do you think [80:33] Mark as I pull you away from sorry I'm [80:35] like this is and I'm I'm actually [80:37] reading too deeply into this but yeah [80:39] I'll read this later uh the three my [80:41] stuff is interesting I'll have to go [80:43] through it more I mean of course there's [80:45] going to be two sides of the research [80:46] versus what the company says and I'll be [80:48] curious to see what's real and what's [80:51] not with that anyway back to back to the [80:53] question it's a portable car that's a [80:55] driver's car that's old [81:00] that you can actually find like an S2000 [81:02] is an affordable driver's car but it [81:04] doesn't have the steering feel or [81:05] anything like that I mean you can find [81:07] in a lease I mean I don't know what [81:08] shape they are I mean if you want that [81:10] that's affordable and the lease is [81:11] expensive 40 Grand no or 20 000. well I [81:14] don't know 20 000 a Miata yeah that's [81:17] pretty much like an NC [81:19] yeah NC's Miata is probably your best [81:20] bet for four-wheel drive and do you [81:22] think that offers some of the feels [81:24] something like an Integra or something [81:25] older like a CRX no but I mean you can't [81:29] find zero yeah I mean those are you know [81:31] those are [ __ ] you can't find integrals [81:33] yeah no this don't even bother they're [81:34] not worth the money to buy them you know [81:36] like we Rave about them as a like in [81:38] these in these videos like the CRX that [81:41] CRX SI we did was like sixty thousand [81:43] dollars [81:44] it's probably more than that I bet you [81:46] if you posted it up somebody would pay [81:47] like 90 000 for it yeah like in [81:49] integra's nice ones that aren't like for [81:52] owner every single one of them totaled [81:54] out and stolen or almost six-figure cars [81:56] now it's crazy RX7 mentioned that it's [81:59] also a pretty amazing car a great okay [82:02] actually it's a really great car it's [82:03] just it takes a lot more work to to get [82:06] it right than it would a traditional [82:07] like four popper I think if you own an [82:10] RX7 you're someone who's willing to [82:12] wrench on a car and while I don't have a [82:14] problem if you're willing to do that I [82:16] think for a regular person that becomes [82:19] not necessarily the most realistic [82:23] um [82:25] Blaine last one this will be my my my [82:28] last of the patreon questions I want to [82:30] hit you up on one that's actually [82:32] uh a good one not that they aren't good [82:36] but you know one that will apply to many [82:37] many people [82:38] here's a philosophical one from Peter [82:40] Chu will Acura hybridize or CUV SUV [82:43] lineup I think this becomes a [82:48] Acura and Honda are in a weird spot do [82:51] you think I mean they're going to have [82:53] to hybridize RDX and MDX and all this [82:55] stuff [82:56] do you think they are going to be [82:59] successful in that Mark and you see that [83:01] anytime soon because clearly like CRV is [83:03] a hybrid pile yeah right a cord is a [83:05] hybrid pile they just Acura Honda [83:08] doesn't have a lot of Drive trains I [83:09] think people forget that they have the [83:10] one five the two liter a naturally [83:13] aspirated two they're hybrid in their [83:16] four-cylinder guys in 1v6 that's modern [83:20] the three liter and then the 3.5 they [83:23] don't have a lot of Drive trains to work [83:24] with right so they're gonna have to [83:26] ground up a premium hybrid yeah no [83:28] you're right I mean that that's that's [83:30] the truth of it [83:31] okay all right let's start answering uh [83:34] super chat questions mark you want to [83:35] start hitting me up with the about a [83:38] billion of them that we've gotten so far [83:39] all right first one [83:42] mini bike Madness thank you for the one [83:44] dollar donation sir thank you sir that's [83:46] a that's your type of bike there was it [83:49] a Honda 50 it is a Honda 50. are you [83:53] gonna do wheelies on that I would love [83:55] the I still desperately want to put you [83:58] on a motorcycle like even in a sidecar I [84:01] still think one of the most entertaining [84:03] videos we've done the likelihood of the [84:05] viewer gave us the uh vehicle the Beyond [84:08] here is like zero but the Morgan three I [84:09] love that thing so much I know you did I [84:12] I mean the the only time I was ever on a [84:15] bike was on my buddy's dirt bike he's [84:16] like oh let me take it yeah no he put me [84:19] on the back of his dirt bike and I was [84:20] holding on to him like in [ __ ] mode and [84:23] I was like terrified that was the only [84:25] time I ever like got on a bike like that [84:28] as a passenger uh but you can count me [84:31] out of that dude I'd be dead in two [84:33] seconds on a bike dead you'd be scraping [84:35] me off the a guard rail or something uh [84:38] next comment [84:40] uh LT Automotive thank you for your five [84:42] dollar donation I'd like to have I I'd [84:46] have more to give if I didn't owe a [84:47] thousand dollars a month for the next [84:49] eight years of my pre-owned Altima [84:50] that's some strong Nissan financing sir [84:53] yeah that's that's that's premium [84:55] financing [84:58] Josh thank you for the twenty dollars [85:00] thank you sir I am torn between [85:02] contributing to my 401k or being an [85:05] American and buying a car that cost my [85:07] entire salary Alfa Romeo Julia if you've [85:10] driven the ti even cooler we did have a [85:12] TI as a press car and we we didn't do a [85:14] video on it was uh it was the like [85:16] British racing green one too yeah you [85:18] cut me away from that vehicle and it was [85:20] brown interior [85:21] uh it's a cool car I I just it's one [85:25] that you really love to drive it because [85:27] the chassis is amazing but it's such a [85:30] small car on the inside for what it is [85:31] uh and then I say this every live stream [85:33] you have to see if you like the engine [85:36] because that engine is just the four [85:39] popper it it's it's average you know [85:43] like there's nothing wrong with it but [85:44] it's like it's such a good car that you [85:47] can't really utilize what the chassis is [85:49] and you just always want more out of it [85:50] I don't think it'd be worth going in a [85:52] hawk for it to spend a lot of money yeah [85:54] I'm sure used though I'm sure the dirt [85:56] oh yeah now they are I think the the [85:58] Julia and the stelvio like last time I [86:01] looked were hilarious in terms of poor [86:04] resale value 25 Grand or 30 grand I [86:06] don't know what they were but they were [86:07] like way way less as he as he used so if [86:10] you could get one like I don't even know [86:11] if they do certified and how many [86:12] dealerships actually service them that's [86:14] the other thing is how many uh Alpha [86:17] dealerships are around now [86:19] five [86:21] all right next one [86:23] uh Pavel Jones thank you for the ten [86:26] dollars Australian much love from [86:27] Australia I hope Mark is enjoying his [86:29] CTR I have an fl5 allocation coming [86:32] April and wanted to set aside [86:33] aftermarket rims what rims or Wheels [86:36] look best on an f05 in your opinion uh [86:39] for the sake of Scott the Mugen wheels [86:43] are amazing I don't know man I don't [86:45] like bronze Wheels I've never liked [86:46] bronze Wheels it's just it's like a [86:48] Subaru thing to me like I always saw it [86:50] on a Subaru or evos joking aside um I [86:53] mean those car those wheels are classic [86:55] they're but that obviously fits the Apex [86:59] wheel that they're working on or have [87:00] one they have them out um yo would Apex [87:03] the thing I like about Apex Wheels they [87:04] don't pay us to say this or anything [87:07] along those lines is they've no you're [87:08] making an ad now you're making a [87:10] commercial for them aren't you I gotta [87:11] pay for my factory expansion come on Yo [87:14] now the thing about uh Apex is they view [87:16] Wheels as consumables and if you talk to [87:17] anyone who actually drives their cars [87:20] hard wheels are consumable they break [87:22] they crack if you ride curbs on tracks [87:24] blah blah blah so Apex will sell you [87:27] your next set of wheels after you [87:28] inevitably destroy your first set for [87:30] half off which is a big deal and the [87:32] wheels are not catastrophically [87:34] expensive they're not like four thousand [87:35] dollars a set at least for their cast [87:37] wheels so you have a coupon code too to [87:40] go with that yeah or you get what Jack [87:41] Factory is the uh if you buy them for 50 [87:44] off then we get a cut of like a thousand [87:46] percent and Jack's gonna buy another [87:48] Corvette so I have to hear about it [87:50] again for another year [87:51] this dude buys a Corvette like three [87:53] years ago I still just stopped I finally [87:55] stopped hearing about it because he was [87:57] over it and now he's started over the [87:59] thing with the Corvette again and now [88:01] every day we can't even have a normal [88:03] conversation with this guy anymore [88:05] all he does oh man if you see my [88:07] Corvette in the garage it's just sitting [88:09] there it's killing me oh [88:13] um [88:14] Savage fleece that is a great name uh [88:17] yeah [88:21] um all right hit me up with the next [88:22] question sir sorry I'm kind of stuck [88:24] here oh yeah Jack likes to talk about [88:26] Corvettes that was that was the next [88:27] question uh here we go ready [88:32] uh we addressed that in the beginning of [88:35] the video I think Mark uh I talked about [88:37] it for 20 minutes [88:39] just just rewind it and you'll see it [88:42] was not an advertisement I'm going to [88:44] say that and if there's any other Super [88:46] Chat things paying me to answer this it [88:48] was not an advertisement [88:51] I put them in the video because I wanted [88:53] to and then I botched the story so it [88:55] wound up looking like an ad and not only [88:57] I I pissed a lot of viewers off [89:00] I made the dealership like have to deal [89:03] with about a bunch of bad press so good [89:06] job Mark yeah anyway next question uh [89:09] glad to see Mark rocking the Kirkland [89:11] Signature hoodie oh we answered we [89:13] answered this so we'll we'll answer it [89:15] again the WRX is a fine car it's still a [89:18] Subaru it's better than the last one [89:19] it's just uglier but it's it is ugly and [89:22] the interior is crap and it's ugly but [89:26] it drives well maybe when they decide [89:27] they're gonna paint the [ __ ] Parts on [89:29] it and it doesn't look like uh you don't [89:31] have to go to the aftermarket like you I [89:33] sent you the picture I sent Jack a [89:34] picture today from the new the rivian [89:36] right yeah the rivian Amazon trucks that [89:38] are on the road if you look at the side [89:40] of it like they put all this plastic [89:42] cladding unpainted plastic obviously for [89:44] durability and easy to replace and it [89:46] looked just like the cx-30 on the side [89:48] like the bottom half so now the cx-30 is [89:51] gonna probably sell a lot more because [89:52] people like oh man I want I want my SUV [89:54] to look like a Amazon delivery truck [89:57] next question sir uh any we answered [90:01] that one as well forgetful foot thank [90:03] you for the two dollars you'll be seeing [90:04] a 987.2 Cayman S Video in the next month [90:08] or so [90:09] not from me uh Adam thank you for the [90:11] fifty dollars very very good thank you [90:14] Adam appreciate it and thank you to [90:15] everybody it's not just the money is not [90:17] the issue here it's just I have to this [90:19] is helping me deal with Jack after this [90:22] he's gonna beat the [ __ ] out of me and [90:24] tell me I'm a bad businessman [90:26] um oh that's gonna get me a bag yeah [90:30] thank you Rick again for the ten dollars [90:31] I told I said Thank you to Rick in the [90:34] very beginning what uh how much is a [90:36] regular beef and cheddar now 3.99 or so [90:38] you're asking the wrong person I missed [90:40] your Aero press in the morning remember [90:42] all right this is a true story when we [90:45] were filming the Z06 piece and we were [90:47] in Kentucky all this guy talked about [90:49] with our poor rep and all the engineers [90:51] he's like man I need to get this Jack [90:53] guy over to Checkers he's gonna expand [90:55] his palate I [ __ ] you not my rep still [90:58] talks about that one of our Porsche [91:00] wraps nice nice lady sheep lady she's [91:04] like 20 or she's like 18 years old [91:07] nice human being she's like ah uh you [91:11] know next time you're in Georgia we I we [91:13] we should get burgers tell Mark it's not [91:16] McDonald's [91:17] yeah he's developed a reputation with [91:20] all the Reps that all he wants to do is [91:21] eat garbage it's funny because I'm not [91:23] into that I like good food but I'm also [91:25] realistic like I I don't want to go and [91:28] blow 150 for some bougie ass food when I [91:31] have like two minutes to eat you know [91:33] what I mean yeah like I'll do Checkers [91:35] and I'll be in the bathroom all night [91:36] but I'll do it all right next one [91:40] I appreciate the banner mark thank you [91:41] yeah I'm just going to leave that on [91:45] um [91:46] oh we did that thanks again [91:49] I don't know how to click okay uh Clyde [91:52] Oasis for five dollars best used fun car [91:55] for ten dollars all right here we go [91:57] ten thousand dollars this is easy [92:00] because every single video is now [92:02] talking about it the Honda Fit Sport [92:04] with a manual transmission is it really [92:05] under 10 grand yeah you can get it for [92:07] like you can get a 2010 2011 fit with a [92:11] manual for like 10 grand or less and you [92:13] do what you have to do a forty thousand [92:14] dollar case swap to make it fun no [92:17] they're really fun cars and they're [92:19] super Nimble and they're super practical [92:21] and that's right they just brought out [92:23] yeah there you go yeah I'm just gonna [92:25] fly on the bandwagon [92:28] I bought uh Dak 101 thank you for the 20 [92:31] donation sir I bought a 981 Cayman S [92:34] last year now I hate driving my Outback [92:36] Dad mobile ideas for a replacement under [92:39] 45 000 man you want to replace the [92:42] Outback with something fun [92:44] oh that one's hard for under 45 uh [92:49] Civic SI that's a pretty but the problem [92:51] the Outback is so big and so usable [92:54] yeah it is that's a hard trade-off you [92:56] know Mike is doing that he decided NSI [92:58] they were going to get an Outback yeah [93:00] this is Sonata finally shut the did I [93:02] tell you that no it's engine let go or [93:04] like basically let go [93:07] um and he's like I'm getting an Outback [93:08] or Forester you got an SS no he wants an [93:10] outside he's like I'm gonna he's like I [93:12] can't do it I physically can't do a [93:14] commute in that so now we you know [93:17] trying to find an essay is going to be a [93:18] real challenge but um [93:20] that's really hard because there's not a [93:22] lot at that price tag other than like [93:24] your commodity [ __ ] like uh RAV4s and [93:27] you're gonna die inside driving some of [93:29] these yeah coming from the Porsche the [93:31] 981 dude there's nothing like you have [93:34] to get like an X3 and the WRX GTI there [93:37] you go the problem is it's small [93:38] compared to the Outback right you no [93:40] literally you have to go to an SUV from [93:42] that there's nothing else it's not under [93:43] 44 Grand [93:44] I don't know you can't get a used X3 I [93:46] mean you could like yeah you can get to [93:49] use X3 for under 45 or you get a used 3 [93:51] Series wagon I mean if you want [93:52] something that's more fun you just a [93:55] roll in the dice with a reliability yeah [93:57] tough one three series wagon if you can [93:59] find one oh good luck what do you wagon [94:01] man [94:05] yeah Brown diesel [94:08] um dj39 for five dollars how long will [94:11] they sell the ice Porsche Macan [94:13] alongside Evie mccon coming out next [94:15] year would you get if if you what would [94:18] you get if you had to choose I'd get the [94:19] ice version immediately over the EV [94:22] unless you live within the what a what a [94:25] horrible manual you know [94:27] geez you just can't get on with the [94:30] future can you [94:31] um [94:31] I think they'll probably start alongside [94:33] for a year or two maybe three max [94:35] they've already extended out the life of [94:37] the con they're not going to re-engineer [94:40] that platform so that's gonna be right [94:41] honestly I'll just go for the Macon and [94:43] like see what they do because it's going [94:45] to take them I know they're they're uh [94:47] EV platforms will be good but they're [94:49] not gonna have that [ __ ] figured out [94:51] like first generation unless you're [94:52] Leasing and then that changes yeah you [94:54] lease that Macon and then you flip it in [94:56] three years to the next pile done next [94:58] question sir [95:01] foreign [95:03] what do you guys think about the fact [95:04] that many YouTubers are getting the new [95:06] Type R mark [95:10] you could just play the Curb Your [95:11] Enthusiasm is like over the over the [95:13] background of this I don't give a [ __ ] [95:14] what they get [95:15] you know like I don't know if they got [95:17] it because they like it I think they [95:18] just got it to get it some of them [95:21] yeah I mean tofu is amazing I know he's [95:23] gonna beat the [ __ ] out of that car and [95:25] he and I got a gr86 at the same time [95:27] identical way through the region same [95:29] with everyday driver they got a gr86 the [95:32] same time we did but a lot for the same [95:33] reason you guys asked for it we did a [95:35] series on it Type R is for you you're [95:37] not doing a series on it I don't I [95:39] really don't want to do a series on it I [95:40] I mean the only time I'm going to use [95:41] that type R is just to do like when we [95:44] do our gr Corolla comparison so I don't [95:46] have to beg for a press car or wait [95:47] forever we can have as much time as we [95:49] want with it then it's gonna sit like [95:52] that's a car for me personally like it [95:53] means something to me personally even [95:55] though I don't think the car is like the [95:56] gr86 is going to go away I think we're [95:58] gonna get a gr Corolla man same thing [96:00] you guys have been asking for that car [96:01] for a million years and we're probably [96:03] gonna get it from SRP and everybody's [96:04] gonna be pissed off but the purpose of [96:06] it is clearly to like in the sake of a [96:09] comparison test it would be great to [96:11] have two cars that we owned where you're [96:12] not having to bag manufacturers for [96:14] stuff in the new uh like a long-term [96:16] ownership series online that's a car [96:17] that much like the 86 I'll pull the oil [96:19] pan off I'll work with counter space [96:20] garage we'll figure out what problems [96:22] there are so hopefully you can use the [96:23] series and my trials and tribulations as [96:26] a buyer's guide I'm not going to go [96:28] through what Jack went through with the [96:29] 86 I've already done that like well like [96:31] you pull that thing out of the [ __ ] [96:32] garage and the suspension is like and [96:35] the brake pads again exact same thing [96:37] that's going to happen in the gr Corolla [96:39] again that's not necessarily for me just [96:42] to do a series on so you guys can learn [96:43] about the vehicle [96:45] all right next question hopefully that [96:47] makes sense I mean it's not going to [96:48] make sense people are gonna I might as [96:50] well just sell the type R now for over [96:52] sticker [96:53] that's what I should do is sell it for [96:55] like forty thousand dollar profit okay [96:57] but look what I made can I use your gr [96:59] curl a long-term review to justify my 30 [97:01] 30k ATM if you pay 70 000 for a gr [97:05] Corolla don't don't don't do it don't I [97:08] will come to your house and admit you [97:10] into the hospital unless you buy mine [97:11] yeah bye Jack so then he can give me the [97:14] money so I don't so then you can pay me [97:17] so I can listen to your Corvette stories [97:18] and be happy about it Mark let me tell [97:21] you about my Corvette [97:23] it's got my what do you say my interior [97:25] looks like Werther's Originals I bought [97:28] Jack I won't talk while I'm eating [97:30] because I'm having crackers I'm feeling [97:32] a little bit indigestion from all this [97:33] talking about V8s about V8s um [97:38] yeah so we brought the the vet to [97:40] Chicago Auto Bros as soon as Jack drove [97:41] it back from the factory and you know [97:44] there's anxiety about new cars I'm not [97:46] gonna I'm not gonna lie like to me 40 [97:49] 000 is a lot Thirty thousand's a lot for [97:51] a new car but when you get to like [97:53] whatever six figures for a car the level [97:57] anxiety just watching him drive this car [97:59] I'm like dude please let's just get it [98:01] back so there's not a chip or a link [98:03] she's already a chip on the rear wing [98:05] just driving it back oh whatever so yeah [98:07] when they pulled when he pulled it into [98:08] Chicago Auto Pros they're like oh that [98:09] looks like Butterscotch the interior and [98:11] then it like clicked I'm like where are [98:12] those Originals so it's sitting in the [98:15] garage rotting and I I put a huge bag of [98:17] orders in his driver's seat and he [98:18] finally drove it out for the first time [98:19] oh did you sit on the bag hopefully no I [98:21] didn't exactly no we're too hopefully it [98:23] gets really hot in there and they just [98:24] melts [98:26] um oh here I want to answer this [98:28] question sorry just got here here for [98:30] the worst phone award whatever phone [98:31] Mark has it was the worst phone I've [98:34] ever seen all right it doesn't do phone [98:36] calls all right let's let's do that [98:37] first so we can take a break from the [98:39] comments not that I really want to [98:40] because we got a lot to get through [98:43] um [98:43] where is it here [98:49] all right so I pre-ordered this Gem of [98:52] engineering a Sony Xperia one four okay [98:57] Mark IV technically that's what the four [98:59] stands for because everything in uh [99:01] camera technology has to be marked [99:03] something like generational [99:05] so this thing I pre-ordered and I forgot [99:08] I pre-ordered it why because it was [99:10] supposed to be The Cutting Edge of [99:11] camera technology for creators it has [99:14] the first and only optical zoom so when [99:18] you have the camera up it will it has a [99:21] physical or a mechanical shift in the [99:24] lens so it can zoom in with the lens [99:26] versus digital all right great it shoots [99:28] 4K it shoots HDR it does all these [99:32] high-end things and you can see here [99:33] I'll try to hold it [99:35] each one of these [99:38] here [99:39] there's four different camera apps [99:42] ones for video video Pro one Cinema Pro [99:46] one's Photo Pro and then to record audio [99:48] there's another app for that in each one [99:51] of the interfaces doesn't do the same [99:53] thing so I bought it for a camera tool [99:56] for the video stuff and it's been very [99:58] very not good it's not been good [100:01] so the best part about it aside from [100:03] that is it's taken five software updates [100:05] five security patches because it's an [100:07] Android device every single one has [100:10] subsequently made the phone almost [100:12] unusable the the launcher that Sony puts [100:15] on here freezes up constantly and [100:17] crashes where you can't swipe anything [100:19] literally it freezes and I have to [100:20] reboot it the dialer is broken and [100:22] granted the dialer is Android or Google [100:24] software but I'll get a call the phone [100:27] will be ringing and there's no way to [100:29] answer it it just rings and I miss a [100:31] call because the the UI is frozen up [100:34] when I connect to Bluetooth in the car I [100:36] can only be on a call for 10 minutes [100:38] before the Bluetooth crashes and I can [100:41] no longer take a call [100:43] and uh what was the other stuff that I [100:45] was complaining about oh the battery [100:46] life it went from like 24 hours of [100:49] battery life after the updates now I can [100:51] only use it for barely 12 hours before [100:54] my battery is depleted and that's with [100:56] like killing every single thing keeping [100:58] like I run it at 60 hertz not 120 worst [101:02] phone and taking guess how much this [101:04] thing was [101:06] you told me earlier it's over fifteen [101:07] hundred dollars yeah it was like 1600 [101:09] bucks for this and I didn't pay that I [101:11] because I'm an influencer I paid like [101:12] 14.99 or something [101:15] um [101:15] yeah so this is example why I bring this [101:19] up because [101:20] supposedly a lot of the team from Sony [101:24] Mobility that worked on this Flagship [101:26] Masterpiece of engineering is working on [101:29] the car with Honda their new car [101:31] whatever they're rebranding it from Sony [101:33] and I can't wait to get into a car that [101:36] is all software like that with the 60 [101:38] sensors on the outside and see how that [101:40] software experience is on a car because [101:42] their phone is so amazing all right [101:43] anyway let's get back to the questions [101:45] that's that rant over [101:50] uh [101:51] somewhere there I think [101:54] we did that one [101:56] we did yeah we're gonna buy a lot of [101:58] Arby's Jack's not having that gentlemen [102:00] Goose 2.0 t-shirt restock one [102:03] the straight answer is is it's so much [102:05] money for me to buy the inventory it [102:07] cost me like ten thousand dollars a pop [102:09] and then it takes me like four months to [102:10] get the money back and I just don't want [102:12] to be out like like twenty thirty [102:15] thousand dollars if we ever get ahead [102:16] financially we'll do it again if I get a [102:19] surplus of the bank of like 50 Grand I [102:21] will reorder the shirts that that's [102:23] where it's at [102:24] Yuri Hillary from a straight pipe says [102:27] hi guys with a heart emoji that's very [102:29] delightful thank you Yuri [102:31] Savage geese chat comment of the week [102:33] wins a new ceramic Matrix Grace C8 Z06 [102:36] with z07 package carbon fiber Wheels 3lt [102:39] carbon Arrow this this guy was trying to [102:42] get us to give away a car uh by having [102:45] us pick the top comment and he won the [102:46] top comment however he's not getting a [102:49] car because I can't afford to buy it JDM [102:52] flip-flops do you have any more videos [102:54] you finished shooting uploading the [102:56] decided nope I'm not posting it because [102:58] you hated the car so much [103:01] um is that what happened with the RC of [103:02] track Edition what happened with the RCF [103:03] track Edition is we never got that car [103:05] or the Gucci Edition we had it in like a [103:07] Instagram post or something in the [103:09] background what I was really taking a [103:10] picture was the X7 I think I was either [103:13] slumped over you were slumped over the [103:14] back because like you were I think it [103:17] was you you were totally done that day [103:18] and the RCF happened to be on the shot [103:20] but it was really more about Jax being [103:22] done with me physically and mentally [103:26] Mark's in a good mood for the live [103:27] stream is everything okay okay let me [103:30] tell you about this live stream [103:31] I was working on this yesterday I was [103:34] working on it the day before and then [103:36] today I was an hour ahead trying to make [103:37] sure that I went smoothly so yes I was [103:41] very prepared and that's typically how I [103:43] want to be and I'm happy that it's [103:45] working so that's why I'm in a good mood [103:47] okay [103:50] uh Stephen Thompson thank you for the [103:52] five dollars thoughts on the Buick Regal [103:54] Tour X wanting something with good [103:56] visibility without buying an SUV so I [103:58] have a friend of mine [104:00] you just parent I think his dad has a [104:03] Buick Regal Tour X he loves that thing [104:05] he says the gearbox tuning is trash [104:07] because it's old GM like nine speed or [104:09] eight-speed or seven speed automatic but [104:11] since the car is great it's I don't know [104:14] a whole lot about it and we never got [104:16] one as a press car or relationship with [104:18] GM is only dramatically improved unless [104:20] I think I only did one or two on all we [104:22] did a Buick we did The Encore GX [104:24] recently just just get that watch that [104:27] video on The Encore GX if you really [104:28] want to see a game changer God's car I'm [104:31] going to ask this Millennial here this [104:32] son of a [ __ ] you see this guy's uh [104:35] Avatar yeah Schumacher do you see that [104:39] barcode on the back [104:40] but no Wing oh yeah yeah I do you know [104:43] what that barcode is what is it his net [104:45] worth [104:46] yeah no worth [104:49] so the barcode on the back is because [104:51] they couldn't put Marlboro on their car [104:54] anymore as a sponsor so yeah I did not [104:56] know that they had to Black it out and [104:57] put a barcode because there was [104:58] something with like the I don't remember [105:00] the tobacco thing I hope I'm right about [105:02] that because I feel like such a [ __ ] [105:05] this Millennials and then I just made [105:08] something up all right so I want it to [105:12] be his net worth you could have just [105:13] told me it was Shuma it just you scan it [105:15] from the or you scan it from the uh from [105:17] the sky yeah and it just I win yeah [105:20] Schumacher how much do you think that [105:21] guy was worth I'm sure it's out there [105:23] publicly you know but in his P 100 [105:25] million 200 million probably probably [105:26] more don't you think he'd be closer to a [105:28] billion I have no idea what's isn't [105:31] LeBron like a billionaire or a [105:32] billionaire yeah but I don't think if [105:35] I don't think F1 has the it has the [105:38] global appeal now [105:39] yeah all right fair point I don't know [105:41] if you know Michael Schumacher's net [105:43] worth at Peak and then if the barcode [105:46] thing I just said was right post it up [105:48] and you'll win an award [105:50] his endless gratification [105:52] I'm old and I know yeah I'm so old I [105:56] know that uh Genesis G80 rear wheel [105:59] drive versus all-wheel drive with rear [106:01] steer [106:02] you pick oh dude you're Mr Genesis [106:05] Genesis rear wheel drive with rear steer [106:07] can you get rear wheel drive with the [106:09] roost here or can you have to go [106:11] all-wheel drive with a wrist here I [106:13] don't know would you get an all-wheel [106:15] drive or rear-wheel drive oh oh yeah [106:17] that makes sense uh I would get a [106:19] rear-wheel drive even though I think the [106:20] rear steer is great I would get the rear [106:21] wheel drive because it's it's a rear [106:23] wheel drive platform and I feel like the [106:24] all-wheel drive really zaps a lot of [106:26] like the dynamic part out of the car and [106:29] uh I just checked the comment and [106:30] somebody said they Googled that I don't [106:32] know how to do that uh Mark uses [106:34] duckduck go I do [106:37] um and then somebody's okay magic [106:40] go yesterday they're they're stealing [106:42] your your wife and your kids uh somebody [106:45] said 600 million and then somebody said [106:47] 700 and then somebody said 800 uh so [106:52] yeah all right go back and then somebody [106:54] said something about that one car [106:57] the barcode would look like the Marlboro [106:59] logo when driving really fast [107:04] okay [107:07] that could have been Masa too was it [107:09] Masa I didn't look at his helmet okay [107:11] well anyway sorry [107:13] this is what happens when you answer too [107:15] many questions you're like oh is it this [107:17] anything's better than answering [107:18] questions I just want to ramble about [107:20] nothing all right next one uh what's [107:22] your favorite Seafood love you guys [107:24] thanks Luke [107:26] Mark really likes crab legs and spilling [107:28] them in the back of an MDX and making it [107:30] smell like a dumpster yeah there was a [107:32] crab leg incident in the back of the MDX [107:34] and now it's hidden with rose oil which [107:36] smells like the funeral home defecation [107:38] yeah no it does it smells like a funeral [107:40] home in there I like uh I do like king [107:43] crab legs I don't know why there's no [107:45] particular reason it just goes down so [107:47] smooth with the butter I'm a sushi man [107:49] but Mark likes to believe my favorite [107:51] fish in the world is swordfish [107:54] uh I've become more of a sushi man I eat [107:57] I eat it probably three times a week now [107:59] tuna and salmon they're um this is a [108:02] true story I can't remember this was a [108:03] couple years ago now man we've been [108:05] doing this for a long time uh I was [108:07] visiting my my I was visiting my parents [108:09] doing dinner to my parents and my [108:12] mother's Chef or the pseudo chef and I'm [108:15] like oh Mark I gotta get I gotta get [108:17] home I gotta go see them they're making [108:19] swordfish and that's all Mark thinks [108:21] about from now on yeah because it was [108:23] like it was a normal to jack he's like [108:25] oh man you know I'm running late my mom [108:27] made swordfish I gotta get back and I'm [108:29] just like dude you didn't just say that [108:33] her Butler her Butler works so hard yeah [108:36] and then I had to hear about Jack's one [108:39] of the you want to tell the story about [108:40] one of the worst things like a lot of [108:42] people have things from their childhood [108:44] that happened to them or like big things [108:46] that redefine their life like mine was [108:49] you know I'm not gonna say it but uh for [108:52] Jack [108:53] oh I told Mark about a childhood story [108:55] about how my marble floor is the heating [108:56] stopped working [109:02] is in the psychiatric ward for a month [109:04] because he's dead I can't get up and [109:07] walk on this one of the floor it's too [109:09] cold [109:10] all right next one these are not real [109:12] stories by the way somebody's gonna be [109:14] like or is it real I'll leave it up to [109:16] you to figure out next question [109:20] Dan figured the X7 would be a better [109:22] dealer experience [109:23] yo Mike good luck finding a Civic Mark [109:27] Mark now is owned by a Honda Civic [109:29] dealership oh yeah you can hook you up [109:30] yeah I'll call him Mike you know this is [109:33] a big deal for me [109:35] I got a free [109:37] I did get Chipotle out of it [109:39] I didn't disclose that [109:42] all right all right so yeah the X7 [109:44] dealership experience sucked I thought [109:46] the BMW dealership would be like you [109:49] know they would kiss your not I don't [109:51] even want my house because I just wanted [109:52] to be in and out it was one of the the [109:54] longest [109:55] longest experience has ever had I think [109:57] I was in there for like six hours and I [109:59] was almost ready to walk out it was so [110:02] bad [110:03] um anyway uh someone has thoughts on the [110:05] Mustang Mach One I asked all year last [110:07] year for Mach 1 and my payment was a [110:10] GT500 instead and that was a massive [110:13] pain in the butt they apparently just [110:15] don't care about that car [110:16] nah why would they they're things like 7 [110:19] 000 years old and how many how many do [110:20] they sell oh a thousand Michael McDonald [110:23] didn't tell me [110:25] uh how's the type R Mark I drove it [110:28] three times I drove it from the [110:29] dealership to Chicago auto pros and then [110:33] Chicago Auto Pros back to the garage and [110:35] it's set to make my horrible video and [110:37] then I moved it in and out of the garage [110:39] to another garage three times ten feet [110:41] so I would say [110:44] from being on the street it's a really [110:46] good street car and you drove in it a [110:48] lot you know it's it's really really [110:50] good as a streetcar it Blends everything [110:52] it's the Comfort mode people are worried [110:54] about it being stiff and it is stiff in [110:56] the upper settings but Comfort mode is [110:57] like an SI it's very good the only thing [110:59] that sucks about it is the engine not [111:01] that it doesn't make power it just [111:02] doesn't have any personality but that's [111:03] all modern zero zero Personnel it's a [111:06] strong motor it just you know it's not [111:08] old at least it makes power yeah that's [111:09] true uh next question the 86 is lame and [111:13] I'm tired of pretending it's not [111:15] all right Liam Liam Nissan [111:21] I don't know man it's uh it is a lame [111:23] car in that it has a shitty [111:24] four-cylinder but it's not in that it's [111:26] a good car to drive for not a ton of [111:29] money and I don't after doing this [111:31] entire series unless you live at the [111:33] track or you go there often if you just [111:35] are [111:36] somewhat of attracting Enthusiast or you [111:39] like autocrossing or you like twisty [111:40] roads [111:41] a new car that you can get new car [111:43] financing on if you're going to finance [111:46] a vehicle or you get a long-term [111:47] warranty on it what else is there that's [111:50] good to drive for 31 33 000 that also [111:52] can be an only car yeah I borrowed an [111:56] nd2 Miata Club while I was in Portland [112:00] recently to visit some family and I told [112:02] you that car dynamically as a street car [112:05] is way more entertaining to drive than [112:07] the gr86 in every way but you couldn't [112:10] use that every single day if you if you [112:12] had a significant other a dog if you [112:14] need to do grocery shopping or move [ __ ] [112:16] the Miata doesn't allow you to do that [112:18] the Mustang EcoBoost is not a driver's [112:21] car at all [112:23] the yeah the Miata is a toy the weekend [112:25] toy unless you live in great weather the [112:27] 86 can be used every day and it is I [112:29] mean honestly every time I get in that [112:31] car I'm like [112:34] it's great but I mean it is very [112:37] underwhelming and it has to do with the [112:38] engine I mean it's not unless you're on [112:40] track or you're driving flat out or the [112:42] car sliding around [112:44] um but that's the joy of it it can't [112:45] just be a regular car it yeah it's it's [112:47] such a mixed bag anyway you're right [112:49] you're you're definitely right uh Mr [112:51] Nissan it's it's not as great as it [112:54] should it's not God's car but it could [112:56] be way better we've always said it it [112:59] could be but you can't have everything [113:02] I wish I had hair and I don't [113:04] know I have that oh God me I just saw [113:07] full five dude I just I was like [113:09] transformed Mo grabbed me thank you for [113:11] the 10 donation I have about five three [113:13] number 360. it's my first manual is it [113:16] normal that it feels like the shifter [113:17] catches on something before it actually [113:19] goes into gear any thoughts on upgrading [113:21] into Integra Type S [113:23] uh so typically with Honda transmissions [113:25] and I haven't really felt it with the [113:27] type R but I've driven a lot how do [113:29] Transmissions have always been really [113:30] notchy until the gearbox heats up [113:33] um and it should be really smooth after [113:35] that you might feel like a little bit of [113:37] hesitation or just like resistance more [113:40] when it's cold that's normal if you've [113:42] been driving for 15 minutes and the [113:45] gearbox is warm you should feel no [113:47] hesitation going into the gears also [113:49] upgrading to the Integra typos I know I [113:51] know nothing about the car I I'm tired [113:54] of speculating about it I'll just see [113:56] what it is it'll have an LS7 it'll be [113:58] rear wheel drive [113:59] I personally you Jack said it if the [114:01] thing's over like 50 Grand you can count [114:03] me out of that it would have to be some [114:05] like huge great amazing car if it's a [114:09] CTR that you can actually get that is [114:11] minimal amount more money like under [114:13] five thousand dollars more money and you [114:15] can actually get it [114:17] fine yeah I mean it's the same car yeah [114:19] I if but see this is what Jack and I's [114:21] debate about this [114:23] but knowing the Japanese now and how [114:25] insular they are and how they want to [114:27] type R back in their own Factory they [114:28] wanted to design it they wanted to make [114:30] it they wanted the Japanese name on it [114:32] they didn't want to have anybody else [114:33] involved in it it's purely them for them [114:36] to allow the American side to make a [114:39] Type S [114:40] what's the chances they're going to be [114:42] allowed to use the full-blown Type R [114:44] engine what's the chances they're going [114:46] to have the same suspension as the type [114:48] R like all the things that make the type [114:49] are that why would they water it down [114:51] the type R brand for a Type S which has [114:53] always been under the type R I just [114:54] don't see it [114:56] well when we do our video on it later [114:58] this next year or later this year we'll [115:01] find out but I don't know man I wouldn't [115:03] go into getting like getting in the [115:07] headspace to get rid of your CTR [115:08] particularly if you like it to get into [115:10] Integra Type S to me the Integra Type S [115:12] is a good option for people who couldn't [115:14] get a Type R and didn't want to pay [115:15] twenty thousand dollars I mean the type [115:17] bar is probably going to be worth a lot [115:18] if they if they keep the volume where [115:20] it's at and they can't make any more in [115:22] that factory that's just the reality of [115:24] it they have to churn out the commodity [115:26] cars first and they have to fill the [115:27] orders in Japan first which is like 10 [115:30] 000 backlog we were told they're [115:31] backlogged 10 000 units so they're not [115:33] prioritizing the American Market first [115:35] until the Japanese Market's met so that [115:37] type R will hold its value for at least [115:39] a couple years and then if I really if [115:42] they make the Integra type or type S [115:44] like a Type R then it's a no-brainer you [115:46] buy that Nintendo one it's probably [115:48] going to have the two liter out of the [115:49] Accord someone just said it in the [115:51] comments I agree with them it'll [115:52] probably have an option as an automatic [115:54] and be open diff we're gonna make Daniel [115:56] and have a LSD that's probably how it's [115:59] going to be it's but yeah whatever yeah [116:01] we're just speculating [116:04] Dominic thank you for the ten dollars [116:06] sir thank you sir I see that that RS [116:09] badge I can't wait would you buy an [116:12] ecosport RS or a Ford Escape RS oh damn [116:15] straight I would ecosport RS the TBD [116:18] diff in the rear I'm gonna feel like a [116:19] rally car driver [116:21] that's not funny uh is this where I sign [116:24] up for the [116:26] kiyosaka seminar yes it is Pabo just [116:29] wait for another five hours and it'll [116:31] come up next question [116:33] how is the total S550 thank you Badger [116:36] for the two dollars all right so I'll be [116:38] honest I thought that the the the bidet [116:41] the Toto bidet seat [116:43] would have been in the in the shop I [116:46] know like it would have been in the [116:47] junkyard but that thing has been [116:50] punished since when did I get it like [116:53] 2017 no probably before that I would say [116:56] the first one I got is 2015 and it's [116:58] still in daily use right now seven years [117:00] later of daily use on a toilet seat that [117:03] is mechanical with pump sprayers heaters [117:06] this I'm getting so emotional [117:10] it's piled up amazing [117:12] all right next one [117:15] I just want to stop there Jack I want to [117:16] close it out on the toilet we have uh [117:18] one third of our questions answered uh [117:22] Matthew Callaway thank you for the ten [117:23] dollars with your history with and [117:25] perhaps affinity for computers and [117:27] Technology what do you think car makers [117:28] get wrong with a rush to cram Tech into [117:30] Vehicles do they have fundamental [117:33] misconceptions [117:35] this is gonna be a long one we talk [117:36] about this all the time I think [117:41] so it's probably not the biggest [117:43] surprise Mark and I both work in the [117:45] tech industry in one capacity or another [117:47] and we still do with this job [117:49] um the thing that car companies are [117:52] trying to become and it's is tech [117:54] companies and tech companies are trying [117:56] to become car companies at the same time [117:58] and with what Tesla approved [118:01] is while you can get into the car space [118:04] being a tech company some of the [118:06] fundamental issues with chassis [118:07] development QC and car factories they [118:11] can't get done particularly well but [118:14] from a car company perspective and [118:16] technology and vehicles is only just [118:19] recently catching up to this yeah I [118:23] don't know man it's it's they're all I [118:25] think the disposability of tech in [118:27] general is going to be an issue once you [118:29] cram it into cars uh yeah and it's it's [118:34] exactly what you expect [118:36] the manufacturer's pure focus is not [118:38] just Tech if it was just Tech it would [118:40] be a different product but it has to be [118:42] card first text second and now Tech is [118:44] becoming like and that's one of the [118:46] things in that fl5 video with the [118:48] dealership like we had a like a two-hour [118:50] conversation about how all their [118:52] dealership stuff is all like complaints [118:54] about infotainment and technology and [118:57] Lane keep assist and all the software [118:59] part of these cars is what's is all of [119:01] the problem that customers have because [119:03] they don't know how it it's used if they [119:05] don't know how to use it right it's not [119:06] explained properly and every single [119:08] manufacturer is a different way of doing [119:09] it when you have no consolidation of [119:11] tech other than I guess Android [119:13] automotive is really truly the first [119:16] uh like Common Thread between these [119:18] manufacturers and they can even Fork it [119:20] and re-skin it the way that they want it [119:22] um until it really is Consolidated down [119:25] just to a couple companies where it [119:26] needs to be you're going to have a bunch [119:28] of broken cars like long term you're [119:31] buying cards never getting updated we [119:32] know that for a fact it's never getting [119:34] updated [119:35] um once they move on to the next [119:36] Generation stuff unless you're like BMW [119:38] where you have like a multi-generation [119:41] of like a like a revision of it like I [119:44] drive seven and eight are still getting [119:46] the same updates but the previous [119:48] generation is not really getting any [119:50] updates so they're going to update two [119:51] generations at Max but most companies [119:53] around I don't know how car companies [119:55] would expect and consumers are going to [119:56] expect phones to be like the cars to be [119:59] like phones and not expect them to be [120:01] disposable as phones are and yeah that [120:04] has me deeply concerned personally [120:05] because a phone you can throw out in [120:07] three years or four years and a car you [120:11] can't right right no one wants a [120:13] four-year-old phone and if cars become [120:15] just rolling laptop Ops which eventually [120:17] they're going to be once the technology [120:19] gets phased out or irrelevant people are [120:21] going to be stuck with sixty seven [120:22] hundred thousand dollars in a vehicle [120:25] that is intrinsically worthless yeah and [120:27] it depends on how fast stuff accelerates [120:29] too right I mean like you could have a [120:31] huge generational shift in technology [120:34] that you know you didn't expect that [120:36] came out and makes the previous [120:37] generation completely irrelevant I don't [120:39] know I think the cars are becoming too [120:41] technology Laden The Last Story I'm [120:43] going to tell is about the stupid range [120:45] thing yeah [120:46] um I got an Electrolux dual fuel range [120:48] which means it has 240 power so the [120:51] range can be electric convection or gas [120:53] and I wanted electric mostly for oven [120:56] and then gas burners and they're [120:59] typically more money because it's more [121:00] expensive to do so I got this range the [121:03] place that installed it pushed the range [121:06] back it screwed up the gas line and the [121:07] gas line went under the rage and was [121:09] touching the 240 volt circuit board and [121:11] Arc through was arcing through the gas [121:13] line it burned a hole through the back [121:14] and I flipped the breaker to see and it [121:17] turns out like if I would have flipped [121:19] the breaker one more time the thing [121:20] would have blown up so I had the guys [121:22] come out and they're like oh yeah this [121:24] is a disaster waiting to happen you got [121:26] lucky but when I went to go back to [121:28] replace the range and a whole bunch of [121:29] other [ __ ] I started looking at ranges [121:31] because I wasn't really happy with the [121:32] range to begin with it was not easy to [121:34] use I found just like cars the only way [121:37] to sell newer versions of appliances is [121:40] like you go to the store and they're all [121:42] pretty but they're all the same [121:43] like even appliances they have to have [121:45] Wi-Fi now it's like a standard feature [121:47] so you can start your oven or like do [121:49] this [ __ ] remotely like all of this [121:51] stuff is built in there to the [121:53] electronics part and to find a range [121:55] that is literally like I want to turn my [121:57] oven oven physically with a temperature [121:59] knob the physical stuff you get into [122:01] Boutique Brands where the oven like wool [122:04] Thermador all these high-end brands that [122:06] literally it probably cost them less [122:08] other than the higher end materials like [122:10] weight of them like to get a simple [122:12] setup it's now Boutique to get to get [122:15] like that in a lower price thing is [122:16] impossible uh in like a mainstream thing [122:19] because the only way for companies to [122:21] sell products now is to tack on all [122:23] these features that's why like one [122:25] Hyundai and Kia do right like they are [122:28] the masters of well you get everything [122:29] for the lowest price and for the most [122:32] common person the commodity person [122:33] that's what they want that's what sells [122:35] stuff I think there's going to be a [122:37] market for cars that come back down to [122:38] Earth but it's going to take a long time [122:39] and it's going to have to take a long [122:41] time of people being fed up with like [122:43] what the Honda the dealer said they're [122:45] going to be fed up of bringing it back [122:46] to the dealer and the the literally the [122:48] dealership cannot fix it they don't know [122:49] how to fix it thus the product is [122:51] entirely disposable yes anyway that's a [122:53] long like you you wouldn't answer the [122:55] question yeah for ten dollars thank you [122:58] very much Matthew we love talking which [123:00] is better the Toto by today or the new [123:02] Type R uh I'll probably have the Toto [123:04] bidet longer than the Type R [123:10] um oh thank you John yes I am looking at [123:12] my phone to answer chat messages I [123:15] didn't have two screens set up because I [123:16] didn't think we'd need it [123:18] um I regret that now heavily I didn't [123:20] think about this I'll be honest [123:23] uh how can you get [123:27] how can you get a car for MSRP a Civic [123:30] an actual thing we're saying in 2023. [123:31] yeah I said this on Reddit I thought was [123:33] funny like if this was five years ago [123:35] and I thought I bought a Type R for MSR [123:37] or car for MSRP people like you're an [123:39] idiot you should have paid less than [123:41] sticker no you're not good to put [123:43] anybody pay on this RP you're getting [123:44] ripped off and now it's like a dirty [123:46] word [123:47] all right next question or statement [123:51] two new Type R is listed on AutoTrader [123:53] Canada I checked for one is eighty one [123:55] thousand dollars and one is eighty nine [123:57] thousand dollars versus the fifty two [123:59] thousand dollar Canadian MSRP healthy [124:02] markup [124:03] cool [124:04] I'll go buy it because they'll teach the [124:06] dealerships a lesson to do it again and [124:08] again uh Nebo asked hey guys you've [124:11] already done multiple Mark 5 super [124:13] videos will you revisit the manual one [124:14] thanks yeah probably I'm debating if [124:17] it's going to be in a comparison test or [124:18] by itself it's gonna have to be a [124:19] comparison test I don't want to do it [124:21] Standalone it's just throwing a manual [124:23] in the same car I mean we know what it's [124:24] going to be like I'm sure it's cool I'm [124:27] sure it's a lot of fun but yeah we got I [124:29] want to do it like against the Z or [124:30] something like that [124:31] or something relevant next question sir [124:36] ah [124:38] Nook V I apologize for buying a Honda [124:41] Civic at MSRP Mark next I should have [124:45] paid like 50 bucks over just so I didn't [124:47] say oh I paid over [124:49] why don't you cover reliability anymore [124:52] I.E Mark 8 GTI the problem Alan with a [124:56] lot of the products we've done videos on [124:57] and we talk about reliabilities and the [124:59] Legacy things that have been out for a [125:00] long time it's when they're brand new I [125:02] can't talk to you about reliability [125:03] because I have no idea [125:05] you know if a car is brand brand new and [125:07] there is a sample size of five and one [125:10] breaks that still is an indication that [125:12] the car is going to be a turd just meant [125:14] one one bad if you that's not how stats [125:17] work you need a large sample size to [125:18] come to a conclusion and it's a brand [125:20] new vehicle particularly the Mark 8 GTI [125:22] we got was basically a pre-production no [125:25] idea I can't tell you if it's gonna be [125:26] reliable or not you can look at the [125:28] history of a car brand to tell you that [125:30] yeah that's the only way you can really [125:31] know but like modern BMWs are a good [125:32] example of that like modern brand new [125:35] car based products are as reliable as [125:38] basically any of their other competitors [125:42] what does that mean it doesn't mean a [125:44] lot it'll get to Jack's point it's I I [125:46] feel bad like you do new cars you don't [125:48] know so you can only talk to what [125:49] they're doing now and where are the risk [125:52] factors I mean you can see some of the [125:53] risk factors I mean certain brands they [125:56] do not prioritize quality and they'll [125:57] you know they only design that son of a [125:59] [ __ ] to work until that warranty date [126:02] is on what's up it's just your Sol yeah [126:04] I mean so I'm sorry maybe you know older [126:06] cars yes we just did a Tacoma video like [126:08] we kind of walked through what went [126:09] wrong in them yeah that that's easy [126:11] right because you know and you can talk [126:13] to it and be honest about it and like [126:14] let people make their own decision but [126:16] yeah I mean like the Equinox is a good [126:18] example one of the reasons why we're not [126:19] going to release a video is because the [126:20] thing's dog [ __ ] right like everybody [126:22] knows everything goes wrong with it [126:23] after the warranty is up or before we [126:25] already did an equinox yeah so [126:28] whether they reskin the new Equinox and [126:30] it's totally different but still has the [126:32] same engine and transmission you can [126:33] know probably categorically the thing's [126:36] still going to be a turd maybe it's as [126:37] other things that are built better but I [126:39] don't know man Muslim reliability on a [126:42] brand new product with no history is a [126:43] hard thing to to determine unless you [126:45] know the inside like unless you know the [126:47] people that worked on the design team [126:49] when we did the the Ford Ranger yeah the [126:53] the Euro like it was the old one that we [126:55] got from Australia right like after we [126:57] did that video I actually had people [126:58] reach out to me that worked at Ford and [127:00] like they told me what a turd was the [127:03] people that worked on it on the [127:04] engineering team that it was like all B [127:06] Team efforts and they just [ __ ] that [127:08] thing out period like that's a case [127:10] where somebody like internally told me [127:12] like how bad the thing is don't buy it [127:14] but like most cars you know nobody's [127:16] going to go against the company they [127:18] work for that's amazing yeah to be done [127:20] right yeah unless they're out the door [127:22] next question [127:24] [Music] [127:27] I don't get the price that's dictated by [127:30] the market and we won't sell to anyone [127:32] other than local that's hypocrisy [127:36] yeah sorry no I'm just saying the even [127:38] the local market for cars is ridiculous [127:40] if you're in any town with any sort of [127:42] money and it's a limited commodity [127:45] product rich people are going to raise [127:47] their hands and pay whatever they don't [127:48] need to to get that car early didn't you [127:50] say that that was happening with the gr [127:51] Corolla oh the gr Corolla somebody [127:53] bought up all the the uh there are [127:55] enough wealthy people and for some of [127:58] these cars out there that there's one [128:00] dealer by us and here in Chicago that [128:02] every gr Corolla allocation was bought [128:04] by the same person they're like four [128:06] allocations for the year and they're all [128:07] purchased by the same guy what so he can [128:09] flip it [128:11] no idea I didn't ask that portion but [128:13] either give them to his friends or flip [128:15] them but just knowing that and that's [128:17] just local that's here in Chicago I mean [128:19] literally there's a lot of people in [128:20] Chicago and there's a lot of money out [128:22] here but I mean uh the dealers by me to [128:25] uh one of the dealers for the Z06 they [128:28] were telling me that their first three [128:30] allocations were purchased ahead of time [128:32] by people who were willing to pay they [128:35] didn't ask for an ADM but they're like [128:38] here's 150 Grand over sticker I don't [128:41] care what the car costs I will give you [128:43] 150 000 to be the first person for one [128:45] of these cars [128:46] how do you compete with that as a [128:48] regular you don't [128:49] I'm just being honest I mean long term [128:52] like any of these cars these really rare [128:56] cars like the Z06 is not going to be a [128:57] rare car just like the previous gen [128:59] they're gonna build as many as they can [129:01] there's going to be like at least six or [129:03] seven thousand of these things by the [129:04] time they're done making it people who [129:06] paid 150 000 over for some generic car [129:09] gonna feel like idiots but if you have [129:11] unlimited money it doesn't matter to you [129:13] right and and so but here what about the [129:17] um [129:20] what about the the gr Corollas and the [129:23] type R's and all these other like [129:25] affordable limited production cars [129:27] I don't know man I mean the the type R [129:30] is a good example you're on a bunch of [129:31] the type R forms a lot of people buying [129:33] these vehicles are self-aware yeah but [129:35] if you know you're someone who's older [129:37] and you know you just want the car you [129:39] want and money is just a number you're [129:41] gonna bring up [129:42] the the purchase price of those Vehicles [129:44] if there's a limited number of cars it's [129:46] [ __ ] and the dealers you know the [129:48] dealers make it worse as well but when [129:50] you talk to some of the salesmen certain [129:51] dealers like the one I was talking about [129:52] locally the salesmen don't see the ADM [129:56] the the GM does the salesperson is [129:58] basically getting screwed making the [130:00] same amount of money they normally would [130:01] right so I I don't know I don't know [130:04] what you do with it and I understand why [130:06] people are mad you know honestly [130:09] um [130:10] that's [ __ ] but you know as a [130:11] regular person other than complaining [130:13] about it which clearly adms have existed [130:16] like I watched an old MotorWeek video [130:19] with John Davis from the 80s recently [130:21] and even then they were talking about [130:22] how unique low volume cars were getting [130:26] adms which is crazy to me and this was a [130:28] problem since the 80s I'm gonna share [130:30] this out for the non [130:32] people that aren't into this and I know [130:34] this is a lot of Type R stuff and I I [130:36] apologize for this but to to make the [130:38] point it's not really about Type R [130:40] um so when we started looking at or when [130:43] when Jack's like you should try to ask [130:44] for an allocation Honda's like maybe and [130:48] then [130:48] um people are like where's my car like [130:51] how do I get the car and when we were at [130:53] the Press event [130:55] um on the forums there is [131:00] um [131:01] on the forums there is a website that [131:05] this guy created on GitHub and it's [131:07] connected somehow [131:09] to database inventories and shipping so [131:12] you can see here on this map where all [131:14] the type bars are and when you go to all [131:15] color stats you see right here that [131:17] there's only been sub or 626 type R's [131:21] available in the US that have been [131:23] shipped or that are being shipped and it [131:26] breaks down the colors so one of the [131:27] reasons why I wanted red besides my [131:29] first Civic being right is it was the [131:31] most rare color and you'll see that the [131:32] black and the red are the lowest volume [131:35] because the other three colors are the [131:37] premium colors they charge more money [131:38] for so they wanted to limit the output [131:40] of the regular paint colors and [131:42] typically we don't get to see this data [131:43] but the fact that we only have 626 this [131:47] probably includes pressed cars media [131:48] cars and the media cars that have been [131:50] sold to people like me or Topher or the [131:52] you know the others so you're probably [131:53] looking at closer to 550 cars so they're [131:56] 626 Rich [ __ ] out there that'll pay [131:59] over sticker to get their car 100 when [132:01] you only have this amount of cars you're [132:05] it doesn't matter if it's a Civic a [132:07] Porsche Ferrari somebody is going to [132:09] look at those numbers and be like this [132:11] is an ultra rare car I want it and I [132:12] will pay more money for it and group I [132:14] don't care if you you know if you're [132:16] younger and you you feel like this is [132:18] like or this car should be affordable [132:20] it's just not going to be and that's [132:22] just how it is until that number comes [132:24] up sadly as I change a mic pack battery [132:35] well let's see if it connects [132:39] and we're good all right all right so [132:41] next question sorry about that John [132:44] uh this was just unrelated sorry keep [132:47] going [132:48] our car makers moving to selling [132:50] subscriptions in order to increase [132:52] profits your new car is the iPhone and [132:54] extra Services blah blah blah I don't [132:57] know I think there's a good chance they [132:58] moved to subscription models uh BMW they [133:01] have to destroying in Korea they have to [133:03] that's the only way they can afford the [133:04] software development and all these teams [133:06] to make these car that to have like so [133:08] Toyota connected they were up to like [133:10] 1100 people right and they started with [133:13] like 200. so now they have 1100 [133:15] headcount it's probably even more since [133:17] we talked last [133:18] for them to support all these cars and [133:20] all the updates you need a team to do [133:22] this and the only way because they're a [133:24] cost center to have all those head count [133:26] you need to have a way to generate [133:28] ongoing Revenue to justify their [133:30] existence and it goes back to what we [133:31] talk about why do you need all this [ __ ] [133:33] in these cars it's like literally if [133:36] we're still driving the cars why do you [133:37] need all this Tech and the thing is this [133:39] is how companies are are selling the [133:41] cars with more features and people [133:42] become they come to expect well does [133:45] this car have Wi-Fi in it does this car [133:47] have a hot spot does this car have [133:49] Google Maps does it have always on [133:50] connectivity does it update itself and [133:52] once you create that precedent you can't [133:55] get rid of it and now you're it's a [133:57] double-edged sword so now how do you pay [133:59] the head count to fix these cars and [134:01] keep them updated you got to have a [134:03] software development team you basically [134:04] become what Google and Microsoft and all [134:06] these tech companies have become and [134:08] you're putting it in cars so now you got [134:10] to pay a subscription if you want it you [134:12] know it's just it's just part of the [134:13] deal you want a basic car you don't buy [134:16] the [ __ ] but nobody does that I don't [134:17] think heated seats in some of the core [134:19] functions that you paid for to begin [134:22] with are going to be subscription models [134:23] I don't think the market is going to [134:24] accept it but everything else I [134:26] guarantee you they can make it a [134:28] subscription model they're going to [134:31] I disagree with you I think once all [134:33] these cars become a complete modular [134:35] like like slab all that stuff is just [134:38] going to be in there by default because [134:39] they're not going to have a supply chain [134:40] of like oh let's put heated seat coils [134:42] in this seat but not in the other one [134:44] it'll be cheaper to to amortize that [134:47] cost of having the one of the same of [134:49] everything and then just flipping [134:51] services on and off if we ever get the [134:52] transportation pods or they're just [134:54] little balls that roll down the road I [134:56] think that's true but I think [134:58] in the relevancy of what we're doing [135:00] today in the say five years yeah I don't [135:03] think I don't think that's gonna happen [135:03] no I don't think it's I don't think it's [135:05] immediate I think it's a 10-year thing [135:06] maybe I think it's 10 years I think it's [135:08] going to have to be it's the only way [135:10] these companies survive otherwise they [135:11] just it's gonna be up to see if Zoomers [135:13] and like the younger people accept it [135:15] because Millennials you know the next [135:17] Generations and Boomers won't I don't [135:19] think they will I think the Zoomers will [135:21] be an interesting point because you know [135:23] they literally are in a different [135:25] mindset of money and phone and [135:27] technology and they're going to dictate [135:28] the future of what's goes in Tech in [135:30] cars and I don't know I think [135:32] generationally and you'll see this when [135:35] you're younger you have more tolerance [135:36] for this [ __ ] but you reach an age of [135:39] oversaturation you realize this is not a [135:41] good use of my time I only have X amount [135:42] of time and I don't want to be you know [135:44] fiddling around with [ __ ] that does not [135:47] work I just need this to work so I can [135:49] focus my energy on work family the [135:51] things that I like to do and I don't [135:52] want to mess with everything else so [135:54] it'll be I don't know it's a really cool [135:56] topic and I think we'll see in like well [135:59] best used sports sedan [136:02] well one of those cars only one of those [136:04] cars has the b-58 mark you just answered [136:07] Jack you never load this question up for [136:09] check he's always going to talk a p58 [136:11] must be all-wheel drive is the only [136:13] requirement b-58 can be all-wheel drive [136:15] mark [136:15] [Laughter] [136:18] not the Stinger the g70 is good for the [136:21] price you can find it pretty affordable [136:24] um the 340 [136:25] uh the type S is the drive scrape but [136:28] the trans in the engine are horrible for [136:31] a sport sedan I would take the BMW of [136:33] the the g70 all right next question [136:35] would you prefer your S2000 or an offl5 [136:37] if your use case was autocross or a [136:39] track r [136:41] best 2000. oh great that's two thousand [136:45] guy doesn't know how to use his iPhone I [136:47] know it's pretty complicated very hard [136:49] uh sending love and sarcasm from [136:51] Australia thank you D Kent for your [136:53] Eight dollar uh donation thank you I [136:55] appreciate it man yeah thanks a lot [136:57] thanks everybody [136:58] it's your channel channel finally paying [137:00] off uh paying off and stress [137:04] no honestly I mean every year we do this [137:06] we try to reflect twice a year I mean to [137:08] be honest we have our come to Jesus [137:10] business meetings the risk of too much [137:12] Insider baseball this year will be [137:14] really telling for us I mean it's going [137:16] to be a hard year we like I set a [137:19] two-year plan and we're kind of it on in [137:21] August around the two-year time frame [137:23] and that's when we'll we'll decide if we [137:25] keep doing this long term but my goal is [137:27] Big projects every month let's see if we [137:29] can do some of these big projects if you [137:31] get people excited about cars again and [137:34] you get show passion of vehicles and if [137:36] you know the if we can't accomplish it [137:38] or we're unhappy we'll stop doing it but [137:40] what's it I guess the better question is [137:42] you have a captive audience of like [137:43] people that want to be here and listen [137:45] to us ramble for over two hours you have [137:47] uh six million people watching right now [137:49] because of me [137:52] what what is it that you want to see [137:54] what is the evolution and shift that you [137:56] want to see from a Content perspective [137:57] because I'm going to do what I want to [137:59] do but at the end of the day this is for [138:01] the viewer base and sometimes the viewer [138:02] base doesn't know what they want but I [138:04] think there's you've got to tell us [138:05] what's important Jack wants to hit these [138:08] projects like these big videos they kill [138:10] me Jack only wants projects that are [138:12] gonna Massacre me and look good on a [138:14] resume let's be honest for me I need a [138:17] balance of like I need to be creative I [138:19] need to be honest I want to feel [138:20] satisfied doing it so knowing the [138:22] business side knowing the creative side [138:24] what is it that you want to see on the [138:26] viewer side [138:27] um post that below like subscribe and [138:30] donate fifty thousand dollars now now [138:33] because I want I want to see it and I'll [138:35] go through that and like go through [138:36] these questions before my dream this [138:38] year uh we're doing [138:40] another Corvette project [138:42] from the trim level it's about to get [138:45] released here shortly we're doing a big [138:47] comparison test we're hopefully going to [138:48] do things with Mustang I'd like to do [138:51] more big comparo tests where I get to [138:53] meet and interview and show to the rest [138:55] of the world the people actually get to [138:57] work on these cars you know [138:59] if if I have to fight as hard as I've [139:02] been doing or it's like uphill and [139:04] there's certain brands that are now [139:05] amazing to work with Jim as one of them [139:06] Porsche is one of them but a lot of the [139:08] other brands it is like pulling teeth a [139:12] Mazda is great in that regards yeah [139:13] there's no money [139:15] um but I want to do more of those [139:17] projects because I feel like that's what [139:18] ads value shaking the desk I know I'm [139:20] making my business [139:24] your business Hammer there's a great [139:26] businessman story I'm going to tell [139:27] before we answer the next question a [139:30] long time ago at General Motors there [139:32] used to be a man who walked around with [139:33] a baseball bat in meetings and on the [139:36] bat it said beat Toyota and he'd pound [139:38] his desk at business meetings with his [139:41] baseball bat that is do you remember [139:43] what car what cars he worked on at the [139:45] time I don't you know I don't want to [139:47] throw the engineer he told me the story [139:49] under the bus but that is an amazing [139:53] 80s RoboCop ocp businessman I'm gonna [139:57] walk around with my Toyota baseball bat [139:59] and scream about just scream at people [140:00] why are we winning well hopefully we [140:03] revert back to that where you can pull [140:04] that off and just be straight abusive [140:06] uh Tom Montano uh the designer the Mazda [140:11] Miata told me when he worked at GM in [140:13] the 80s they had all the designers in [140:15] this like dark room car designers like [140:16] artists and they had a PA and their boss [140:19] would just scream at them over the PA [140:21] while the designers are in a room that [140:23] is horrible that's back when when it was [140:27] real people cared about work Fred the [140:29] fail Lord has Ben's reached out to you [140:31] since you took a giant dump on the eqb [140:32] no [140:34] though I don't think our Ben's reps care [140:36] they just you know for them it's about [140:38] video content going out you know they [140:40] don't really have a lot of resources [140:41] from an engineering perspective it goes [140:44] back to the US versus like Germanic yeah [140:46] like you know a lot of these companies [140:47] they're just [140:50] I don't know I don't I don't know how I [140:52] don't I don't get it whatever it's not [140:54] my business Mark you still own a Murano [140:56] cab [140:57] I'm not gonna comment on that right now [141:01] uh Chris Salini [141:03] uh what does you this is uh for ten [141:05] dollars uh thank you uh Christian what [141:08] does YouTube pay you guys for views like [141:10] subscribers does that YouTube premium [141:13] stuff affect you as well you guys should [141:14] take some extended time off YouTube pays [141:17] us for uh views and AD clicks the way [141:20] they promote your channels based upon [141:22] likes and subscribers so it's really [141:24] goes down to views primarily in ad [141:26] clicks so that there's a whole huge like [141:29] algorithm how it works [141:31] um I would say just to keep it simple [141:33] the more views that your video has the [141:36] more friendly it is to advertisers [141:37] advertisers bid on content so if you're [141:41] if YouTube sees your video it goes out [141:44] people are clicking on it viewing it and [141:45] watching it for a longer period of time [141:47] and then of course liking it and doing [141:49] all the typical [ __ ] they look at [141:50] that as engagement like oh we're going [141:52] to recommend this more and then it gets [141:54] recommended to more people and then if [141:55] those people come in and do the same [141:57] [ __ ] even if they're not subscribers it [141:59] recommends it even more until it grows [142:01] and gets bigger and that's when your ad [142:03] rate tier can go up the views go up the [142:06] more views the more clicks but if your [142:08] video does not do well and YouTube [142:09] recommends it and then people aren't [142:10] clicking on it ad rates go down views go [142:13] down so you it's impossible to know we [142:17] know 100 what videos are not going to go [142:19] out like if like the the Lexus one we [142:23] just did right the GX it's like a [142:25] million years old nobody cares about [142:26] that if it gets recommended it out [142:28] nobody's going to click it there's no [142:29] value to it being going viral or [142:31] whatever you want to call it but we did [142:33] that because our viewers you guys like [142:35] Lexus products I mean it's just you [142:36] can't make videos for this year Well [142:39] people do like the there's people that [142:42] literally make videos for the only point [142:43] and we see this in the car stuff and I'm [142:45] not calling anybody out I understand it [142:47] but the drag race stuff right like [142:49] literally if you make a drag race video [142:51] with the right cards you're guaranteed a [142:53] million views and if you play on that [142:54] you can make a lot a lot of money the [142:57] the thing is is like that works now so [142:59] what's going to work next and you really [143:00] have to be on the business side of [143:01] feeding that system I don't do it [143:03] because that's not my interest per se I [143:07] think if I was really hurting for money [143:09] I'd be like Jack let's do some drag race [143:10] videos we would I know they would work [143:12] but again it's a very weird system that [143:15] rewards mostly views that's sorry long [143:18] long let's start powering through these [143:21] we have a lot of questions and we've [143:22] been doing this for two and a half hours [143:23] and I promise we'd answer all of them [143:25] next question sir here at the very [143:26] bottom don't ever say that again you [143:30] know I should be seeing which one's [143:31] light blue like that Jack but uh zero g [143:34] and thank you for your 20 supporting as [143:36] always I gotta have lost her n last year [143:38] because of your videos I finished the [143:40] CTSV Big Break Swap this month must see [143:43] an improvement over the stock single [143:45] Pistons love you guys and always we'll [143:48] support you till the end thank you zero [143:49] GN enjoy your Veloster uh and I didn't [143:53] realize the CTSV Big Break swap was [143:55] something you do to have lost their end [143:56] I mean there's a surprising amount of [143:58] cars that like Chevy stuff fits but it [144:00] makes sense like you're gonna spec your [144:02] brakes from Like A supplier and there's [144:04] not gonna be a million different [144:05] variations so that's a car where it [144:07] actually worked for I forgot what other [144:08] car did that I can't see yes yeah that's [144:11] right yeah that's right that's the [144:13] original 86 was doing that [ __ ] I [144:14] wouldn't I personally I wouldn't do it [144:16] but that's just me that probably makes [144:18] more sense because NSX or Delorean from [144:20] Mike G [144:21] NSX NSX I love the DeLorean but no uh [144:26] Ben thank you for your three dollar [144:27] donation that manufacturing video on [144:29] Corvettes will be out at the end of the [144:31] month yep hopefully it's good hopefully [144:33] uh free Steve thank you for the ten [144:35] dollars why can't companies make a car [144:37] like the 05 Mustang [144:40] um with [144:43] 15 and 23 Mustang styling with an [144:45] interior that is in test tech first and [144:48] big horsepower numbers [144:50] because that's not what people ask for [144:52] the the cars cost so much money to [144:55] develop programs cost so much money that [144:57] for anything to get off the ground now [144:59] it is focus grouped to death and the [145:03] people they're asking that is not a [145:05] priority people don't want old Tech and [145:07] cheap cars like what sells Vehicles is [145:09] marketing big screens high horsepower [145:12] and that's the sad part about all this [145:14] free Steven or free Steve [145:16] yeah I mean I I've said a lot of this [145:19] already in the video I'm not gonna I'm [145:21] not gonna dig it in the bottom line is I [145:22] don't think people but the enthusiasts [145:24] are the loudest voice they don't buy [145:26] cars in bulk and to make a one-off [145:28] sports car that's very basic and simple [145:29] costs more money than a commodity car [145:31] because they're not making their money [145:33] back the enthusiasts say they're gonna [145:34] buy it they don't buy it so they're [145:36] stuck with 8 000 units and when you go [145:38] to the up top people and say hey we sold [145:39] 8 000 cars so like big [ __ ] deal [145:41] bottom line that that's how this works [145:43] and I hate to be that blunt but it [145:45] really is until sports cars basic sports [145:47] cars you can prove that you can sell a [145:49] hundred thousand of them no manufacturer [145:51] is going to do it again that's just it [145:53] and that's what they tell us all the [145:54] time like they love cars too just like [145:57] us a lot of them but that's not the [145:58] reality of the business we're in [146:01] sucks [146:02] uh [146:03] Dak 101 it takes passion people like you [146:06] guys to make good videos that brings up [146:08] passion that people working [146:10] man my brain isn't working that brings [146:12] up a passion that people working at the [146:14] manufacturers have thanks Jack I'm glad [146:17] you you enjoy that part of it I think [146:19] again people forget that these cars that [146:22] owners and enthusiasts attach so much [146:24] identity to For Better or For Worse are [146:27] actually made by people who dedicate [146:29] over probably half a decade in most [146:31] cases of their lives to these projects [146:34] and it was always my dream when I was [146:36] younger to get to meet some of these [146:37] people and now the fact that I get to [146:39] interview them and show them off because [146:40] cars aren't zero to 60 your lifetimes [146:43] they are passion projects at least [146:45] Enthusiast cars are often by really [146:47] amazing people in many cases I liked you [146:50] know to that point like you have the [146:53] fantasy of like meeting these people [146:54] right for me [146:56] I don't like they're people to me I [146:58] don't make any of the car or the [146:59] industry anything bigger than it is for [147:00] me it's a it's amazing to be able to get [147:02] behind the scenes and learn to see these [147:05] people's jobs and what all these [147:06] people's jobs are without actually [147:08] having to work for the company so I [147:09] don't want to work for these companies I [147:11] just want to see how [ __ ] works so I can [147:13] share that experience that I always [147:15] wanted to see on the back end like [147:16] watching videos or reading articles like [147:18] I wanted that access so I can share it [147:21] back that's what that's what makes me [147:22] excited [147:24] um and you know it's it's a lot more [147:26] work than I thought it was going to be [147:27] though so it's like to do that to your [147:29] point like trying to get access to this [147:30] stuff is like a full-time job it's crazy [147:33] uh Neo Neo thank you for the ten dollars [147:36] I bought a 2022 TLX base upon your [147:38] reviews I hope you love your carneo yeah [147:40] the TLX is really cool car it's like [147:43] it's this far away from like being crazy [147:45] you know [147:47] next question [147:49] uh cons uh two one three thank you by [147:53] the way um do you guys have any insight [147:54] how alpha is doing will solantis keep [147:56] them long term but a 2.0 rear wheel [147:59] drive Julia and absolutely love it I [148:00] really hope that parts and service will [148:02] be available [148:05] now that's a tough one I just [148:09] stalantis is going through such a [148:11] transitionary period and now with the [148:13] the French part of them I mean they're [148:16] probably going to have parts for them [148:17] but like most American manufacturers [148:19] long-term part support is going to be a [148:21] big question and if the brand dies [148:23] you're probably screwed [148:26] I don't know if it's going to die or not [148:28] and that's that's the tough part like [148:29] the Hornet or whatever the hell the new [148:31] Dodge like SUV thing is it's a re-badged [148:34] either French or Italian vehicle I don't [148:37] really care so I can't remember but the [148:39] fact that that's not he doesn't not care [148:42] that it's French or Italian he just [148:43] doesn't care like platform yeah yeah [148:46] um [148:47] uh you know the fact that it's not a [148:49] Fiat or uh Alpha product and there are [148:51] no new Alpha products really doesn't [148:54] fill me with a warm and fuzzies I think [148:56] it's dead I think it's dead in the US [148:58] honestly unless they do something [148:59] magical here and make it the luxury [149:01] brand of stalantis in the US but you [149:03] don't have a dealer Network you don't [149:05] have like really big marketing or any [149:06] budget I I think it's on life support [149:09] personally so it's work Alpha is worse [149:12] than Jack yeah yeah for sure [149:14] uh next question uh Clara or Clara [149:19] drives uh what are your thoughts on [149:21] using a car as a motivational goal at a [149:23] young age I'm 20 setting aside money to [149:26] buy and maintain a E90 M3 as soon as I [149:29] can I love the amazing content guys [149:32] um so I think like the the E90 M3 but [149:35] are ignoring the car part about thinking [149:38] about cars as a motivational goal at a [149:41] young age yes it's a good motivator it's [149:43] one of the strongest motivators I mean [149:45] things are motivators I'm not saying [149:46] that it should be but I I think you know [149:49] when you're young and you have the time [149:51] and you have to work for something it's [149:52] a really good Outlet [149:54] to drive yourself [149:57] to push yourself a little bit more like [150:00] that this concept of like all the silent [150:01] queer quiet quitting and all the people [150:03] that don't want to put the hours in our [150:04] work I get it because you're working for [150:06] another company that's reaping the [150:07] benefits for your slave labor [150:09] but on the Counterpoint it is selfish as [150:12] well if you get in with a decent company [150:14] you're making money you can make a lot [150:16] more money putting in that extra hours [150:18] that extra time there's a lot to learn [150:20] in a job whether it's corporate it's [150:22] [ __ ] or not you can learn a lot and [150:24] it's how you take away that experience [150:26] that drives you for the future so if [150:28] that like in your head like I can afford [150:30] an M3 if I work an extra 10 hours this [150:33] week you know you can flip that around [150:35] and be like how can I help my team or my [150:38] boss tackle like projects that nobody [150:40] else wants to do because at the end of [150:42] the day that will give you a lot of like [150:46] for for most people it gives you a lot [150:48] of credibility it gives you you become a [150:50] go-to person you know you think cars are [150:52] good motivation motivational goals I'm [150:54] like I'm mixed on it personally I think [150:56] you know things are things at the end of [150:58] the day [150:58] and I I don't know I there's a part of [151:02] like being young and being irresponsible [151:05] that you don't you don't want to be this [151:08] person and buy an M3 after you've set [151:11] aside forty thousand dollars or thirty [151:12] thousand dollars and then go bankrupt [151:14] immediately right car breaks I'm not [151:15] saying I guess to rephrase it I'm not [151:18] saying that the car is the reason you [151:20] work hard but it's a tool to teach you [151:23] some work ethic that might get you over [151:26] the hump of like I don't feel like [151:27] working [ __ ] this place but if you have [151:29] a moment personal goal of like hey it's [151:31] a means to an end and I can get [151:33] something out of putting that extra work [151:34] in to get the money there's very few [151:36] things that cost enough money where you [151:38] have to put that extra work in like from [151:39] houses cars cars is a big thing and like [151:42] young people with cars like Enthusiast [151:44] cars it's that's why it's always a meme [151:45] or a joke it's like hey do you want to [151:48] keep your kid away from doing drugs or [151:49] like getting 20 women pregnant you know [151:52] give them an Enthusiast car and have [151:53] them go broke modifying that I'm not [151:55] saying do that but you know there [151:57] there's benefits from it for sure next [151:59] question sir sorry no no worries no that [152:02] was actually a really good question [152:04] uh yeah Mike uh to answer your question [152:08] again you have the Nissan people as much [152:10] as I give Nissan a hard time for making [152:12] a lot of crap for a long time and as [152:15] much as you people can make fun of the [152:16] new Z they are a really passionate bunch [152:19] I just I wish that brand had more money [152:22] for them internally the Z the Z is a [152:25] good car for what it is and you just [152:26] have to be in that mindset is it as good [152:28] as a Supra [152:29] I think it goes down to all these [152:31] companies they do have some passionate [152:32] people in there but most of the time [152:34] they're stuck on chicken ship projects [152:36] that they don't want to do I mean I [152:37] brought that up in the Z06 thing like [152:39] sometimes you have to work your entire [152:41] life to eat [ __ ] and that goes back to [152:43] that on three question you have to work [152:45] hard for a long time to get that dream [152:47] project or to get that dream car that [152:49] you want to buy things don't just drop [152:51] in your lap all the time so and that's [152:53] the passion that shows that's the [152:54] passion these guys literally had to do a [152:56] lot of [ __ ] for a long time so when the [152:58] Z came around they're like thank God I [153:00] get to work on this I'm gonna put [153:01] everything I have because this is the [153:02] one chance I need to give you ten [153:04] dollars to do it well I mean but they [153:05] made the best like right yes that that's [153:07] the point of like all these cars we want [153:09] everything for nothing we want the best [153:10] stuff but the reality is a lot of the [153:12] people behind them they don't have [153:13] unlimited budgets and it's a miracle [153:15] these things get made and yes the Z has [153:18] problems like I I mean even going back [153:21] you know how can you build a car that [153:24] has feel starvation at half a tank I [153:26] mean like these are basic things that [153:27] should not be happening but again [153:30] there's reasons behind them that a lot [153:32] of companies will not talk about because [153:34] it's inside baseball or somebody want [153:36] didn't want that but there was no money [153:37] to do it or somebody got overruled every [153:39] car has these things and it's just the [153:41] human part of business yeah next [153:43] question sir [153:44] or statement in that case Bob vandell II [153:48] you guys can keep up with humor and [153:50] production quality and review fewer [153:52] boring cars like the Crossovers and [ __ ] [153:56] I wish we didn't have to review [153:58] crossovers but I can tell you for [153:59] example this month alone he doesn't do [154:01] all the traveling that I do I have to go [154:02] do a pilot reveal because sadly that's [154:05] important card to people not sadly but [154:07] that's an important card to people and [154:09] you know that's why we do it a lot of [154:12] the Crossovers are what actually sells [154:13] and that's what people ask for for as [154:15] much Enthusiast car videos we do [154:18] sadly or or not there are many [154:21] counterpoints of why can't we can't you [154:23] do more affordable or regular people [154:25] cars I think the the good one is like [154:27] look at Hagerty and you know now that [154:29] we've met Jason camisa and talked to him [154:31] quite a bit we're not in the same like [154:33] headspace [154:35] um we're not like the same type but we [154:37] have similar like ideas of like we want [154:39] to make certain quality content well [154:41] Jason doesn't shoot his videos he [154:44] doesn't edit them so when he goes to [154:46] make like one of these drag race videos [154:47] or one of the comparison videos it's [154:50] like running out of track it's big money [154:52] it's a lot of time and then it takes [154:54] them over a month to edit these videos [154:55] now to think about that like if all your [154:58] your income is just coming from [155:00] releasing videos like our our most of [155:03] our content is AD Revenue supported [155:04] right you don't make money by releasing [155:07] one Enthusiast video a month I mean [155:09] that's one of the reasons why the other [155:11] reason why is I don't want to do just [155:13] car Enthusiast videos I don't want to [155:15] become a car Enthusiast only Outlet [155:17] because that really puts you in the [155:19] corner of and that was one of the big [155:20] problems why I didn't get press cars to [155:22] begin with yeah [155:23] Nissan was one [155:26] um [155:26] a rep yeah she's like oh I I didn't want [155:29] to give you guys regular cars because I [155:31] thought all you did was Enthusiast [155:33] vehicles and honestly like I was joking [155:35] around about the numbers look at the [155:37] RAV4 look at the F-150 look at all these [155:39] commodity deals those are the real cars [155:41] that people buy and those are the people [155:42] you also need for me I want to learn [155:44] about those cars and help people like [155:46] our family members you can help you can [155:48] truly help people that are looking to [155:50] try to make a good decision and if we [155:52] can help to teach or at least to show it [155:55] and let people make a better decision [155:56] that's why it's important for me to do [155:58] some of these [ __ ] box cars or some of [156:00] the more boring cars or some of the only [156:01] great commodity cars like things that I [156:03] never thought would have been good I've [156:05] I've some of my favorite cars are just [156:07] normal Vehicles not the fun stuff [156:09] next question sorry that I mean I'm just [156:12] trying to explain [156:14] thanks uh capura thank you for the ten [156:17] dollars thanks for the videos your [156:18] advocacy led me to buy an LC 500 of my [156:21] own makes sitting in traffic uh much [156:23] better have either of you driven the [156:25] hybrid love to know how it Compares [156:26] don't drive the hybrid [156:29] it looks cool if you like the LLC [156:31] styling it has the same interior but the [156:33] V8 is what makes the LC 500 in my [156:36] opinion [156:38] as soon as I drove the hybrid I was so [156:40] disappointed you drove it on the track [156:42] too didn't you no I didn't maybe I did [156:44] yeah I remember the Toyota then you [156:45] drove it on drag which is hilarious oh [156:47] yeah I don't remember That's how little [156:49] I remember it I I mean I just that was [156:51] my overall feeling after coming out of [156:53] the V8 and driving the hybrid I was just [156:55] purely disappointed it felt like a shell [156:57] of a car and that's how much the [156:59] drivetrain makes a difference [157:01] I'm glad you liked Elsie still one of [157:03] the coolest cars on the planet [157:05] explosion [157:06] Ben [157:08] thank you for the seven dollars Canadian [157:09] or [157:11] um thanks for existing I really enjoy [157:13] the content you guys make what's your [157:15] first impressions of the new Toyota [157:16] Prius [157:17] I will tell you Mark's First Impressions [157:20] because I was there when it happened so [157:22] a year before the Prius press event [157:24] Toyota does this every year at their [157:27] annual come to our headquarters thing [157:28] they show you some unveiled products or [157:30] like upcoming products that are complete [157:32] like they did it for the tundra the year [157:34] prior to this and they take away your [157:36] phone and they tell you you can't say [157:38] [ __ ] about the product and they pull off [157:41] the like this basically like blanket or [157:44] tarp over this car and you're supposed [157:45] to go wow Marcus infinite wisdom and [157:48] I've told the story before was standing [157:50] right next to me and behind us were all [157:52] the senior leaders at Toyota and Mark [157:53] didn't know they were there and this [157:55] blue uh like it was like the dark blue [157:59] it's got like base model thing and we [158:01] were on the side we were on the side of [158:03] it and uh Mark's first words as he in [158:06] between his laughter was that looks like [158:08] a [ __ ] Dodge Dart [158:11] and uh the Toyota Personnel apparently [158:13] had a meeting about that later I was [158:15] like oh does this look like a Dodge Dart [158:17] it's a great looking car though the the [158:19] at least the stuff at least the stuff [158:20] that they've released now as I'm [158:22] spitting everywhere because I'm so [158:23] excited for the Prius the the ones that [158:26] we saw at the auto show [158:27] like the upper end ones the prime like [158:29] the dark color ones that didn't look [158:31] like an old man Speck it looks a lot [158:34] different from different angles but that [158:35] like the base model ones which is what [158:37] you're gonna see on the road to me is [158:40] I don't know I hope it's enough people [158:43] seem excited for it and personally I'm [158:45] excited because it's a car a hatch a car [158:48] that's not a CV or SUV so I hope it just [158:50] from that perspective sells really well [158:52] for them I think it looks better than [158:54] the new Corolla does like I think it's a [158:56] good looking little like regular car [158:58] yeah and I mean I that I was telling [159:00] that to somebody today about the oh yeah [159:02] it was about the RAV4 like you know [159:04] everybody's gonna go to a RAV4 for the [159:06] price right because it has bigger it's [159:07] bigger it has more space all that [ __ ] [159:09] but that's just because we don't have [159:11] good car options anymore you know like [159:13] cars are just no they're not putting [159:15] money into them they're putting in SUVs [159:16] so it's nice to see they put some money [159:18] into the Prius styling i i as much as I [159:20] think it does look like a dart from the [159:21] side [159:23] an 05 Corolla XRS before I got [159:25] rear-ended I got an 07 SI as a [159:27] replacement should I look for another [159:30] 2zz XRS or should I just be happy with [159:34] the experience I had I I mean I [159:36] personally wouldn't I I would just stick [159:38] with the SI the the XRS was cool but [159:42] it's going to be so hard to find one of [159:43] those and [159:45] I mean not that finding an SI isn't hard [159:47] now [159:48] I think the outside is a better car [159:50] other than if you're going to go back to [159:51] the experience I mean this is a huge [159:53] like have you know set aside of a small [159:56] fortune but uh like a base of lease [159:59] doesn't it have that motor [160:01] yeah I think yeah that's the XRS and [160:04] then I forgot what the [160:06] to look it up [160:08] um what what motor did the Elise have I [160:10] can't remember because it's a Toyota [160:12] high revving engine [160:14] yeah it was the I think it was the same [160:16] one I I can never remember the engine if [160:18] you want to experience the engine again [160:20] do it in a dedicated sports car platform [160:22] yeah I think at this point just you know [160:24] try to [160:26] um [160:27] or try to try to move on to something [160:30] else if it got totaled out and this is [160:31] what happens to me like I had the warm [160:33] and fuzzies and went and and tried to [160:35] get the same thing and [160:37] um it was never the same the second time [160:39] around nostalgia's a bit it's the 1.8 [160:42] liter so yeah I think it's the same [160:43] thing they put in the Elise I can't tell [160:45] off the picture let me see if I can find [160:47] about her [160:48] of course this is all [ __ ] zoomed up [160:51] anyway yeah [160:52] um [160:54] just stick with the SI you can build the [160:57] SI out to be hilarious yeah just put an [160:59] intake on it that's all you need a seven [161:01] inch intake next question I've been [161:03] eyeing a Julia wow a lot of questions of [161:06] the Julia because it's it's the cheap [161:07] car right now hexa form for five dollars [161:09] when eyeing Julia versus a TLS for a [161:12] while what's more fun and what's your [161:14] speculation regarding the attorney it's [161:16] the current Italian makes uh Alpha I [161:19] think is a dead brand unless they [161:21] rejuvenate it uh not Ferrari Maserati or [161:25] their own thing altogether Ferrari's [161:27] gonna be around till the end of time uh [161:30] Maserati we're trying to do an mc20 [161:31] video in the spring we'll see if that [161:33] actually happens [161:35] um you're looking at a very difficult [161:38] choice because the Julia is a rear-wheel [161:39] drive architecture it's really good the [161:42] interior is pretty good The Styling is [161:44] unique you're just you're saddled with [161:46] the engine and the drivetrain you know [161:48] and not that the TLX Type S is is like [161:51] amazing amazing but it's still it's [161:54] better and it's a turbocharged form and [161:59] um I think the chassis of the TLX [162:01] is good too and the all-wheel drive [162:03] system yeah I mean it is really good [162:05] personally if the price was the same I'd [162:07] choose the TLX and that's not just I I [162:10] really think it's a better car in that [162:12] regard [162:13] um the Julia is only to me like really [162:15] really great yeah that's where you [162:17] really see what that car is and anything [162:18] less is really hard to take all right [162:20] next question Jonathan for five dollars [162:23] favor daily for sixty five thousand [162:25] dollars considering a Civic SI Integra [162:28] last gen M2 Macan open to others except [162:31] for Hyundai for sixty five thousand it's [162:34] a lot of money uh you have a lot to work [162:37] with but if you want a daily M3 an M3 [162:39] yeah I saw a G80 today [162:42] f80 sorry the f80 today a four-door on [162:46] the road and I'm like God that car looks [162:48] great yes like even the four-door I'm [162:50] like God it looks so good I like it's [162:52] just I at first I I mean I always liked [162:56] it but it's aged so well and I think [162:57] that's because everything's got more [162:59] ugly they're like man that's a classic [163:00] looking BMW if I if I didn't have that [163:03] gr Corolla coming in you know that would [163:06] be to me enough assuming it doesn't like [163:09] become worthless if you put like 3 000 [163:12] miles on it I think the f80 is a good [163:14] looking car yeah that's what I would get [163:16] and it's fun to drive yeah like I think [163:18] some of the problems with the chat I see [163:21] it going sideways everywhere and having [163:22] too much torque [163:24] initially if you looked at it from a [163:26] driver's perspective was a problem but [163:27] now it's character yeah I mean I I mean [163:29] the SI and the Integra they're you know [163:31] they're they're [ __ ] box like Eco cars [163:34] you know they're fun but yeah if you [163:35] have a 65 000 budget I mean like if you [163:38] get a if you get in an M2 and you drive [163:40] an S9 and integral you'll be like oh you [163:43] know like what what just happened you [163:45] know [163:46] um all right next question I always tune [163:49] in for the Timeless production pieces [163:50] the pilot gear blend you guys for [163:52] guiding my my Miata passion looking [163:55] forward to something profound regarding [163:57] to the new cx70 and cx90 that's gonna be [163:59] up to Mazda I've pitched them on the [164:01] project if they have the resources and [164:03] the time we're gonna do a pretty big [164:05] film on the rear wheel drive platform [164:06] but the ball's in their Court [164:09] ah yeah that's it's in the works yeah [164:11] our London for twenty dollars I have a [164:14] geebly sq4 with 52 000 miles it's been [164:17] super reliable you're the only person [164:18] I've ever met ever that said there's [164:20] their their Ghibli has been super [164:21] reliable congratulations I have a one I [164:25] have a year and a half of warranty left [164:27] should I chance keeping it once the [164:29] warranty is up or should I dump it [164:31] well based on what you just said and uh [164:34] you're a God you are the luckiest human [164:37] being I've ever met I sold when I sold [164:39] cars in college an SQ5 geebly I think I [164:43] sold it I think the car was like fifty [164:45] dollars it was a year or two old and I [164:46] think it was less than half of its MSRP [164:49] oh yeah that's that's rough [164:52] I I mean I would solid do it honestly [164:54] nobody's ever like a high mileage [164:57] Maserati is doesn't sound like a good [164:59] idea [165:00] or London I'm really sorry to be the one [165:03] I mean bring that up it's like an old [165:05] Jag right like it's it's got the same [165:07] thing I just think the old Jag is cooler [165:09] than the old Maserati well that's [165:10] because you're a British snob dude [165:12] first time seeing you guys live that's [165:14] great and uh great and more talk and car [165:18] audio quality yeah that's it yeah it's [165:22] we need to figure out how to make it the [165:25] problem is nobody cares about it but [165:26] people care about it so it's like you go [165:28] to one extreme and do more on it and [165:30] people like tune out because they don't [165:31] know what the hell you're talking about [165:32] we need to do a better job making [165:34] certain things more accessible and uh [165:36] we'll put that on the list of things to [165:38] do including our Discord and they will [165:40] go up it is dumb though it is actually [165:42] done chin face Assuming he's not dead in [165:45] a ditch somewhere put a lot of effort [165:47] into putting that together so one of [165:49] these days Mark will finally connect her [165:50] YouTube and her patreon to it and we'll [165:52] go live I don't know when but it will [165:54] happen [165:55] Anish can you explain why you made a [165:59] video about your Honda experience it [166:00] felt like an ad not your typical [166:02] programming it was a very weird video in [166:03] my honest opinion he's talked about that [166:05] enough at this point let's move on to [166:07] the next question go back and watch the [166:09] beginning the first 20 minutes of the [166:11] video I explain it in great detail [166:13] if you have any opinions on your gr86 [166:16] BRZ twins have has your experience or [166:18] opinion changed on the 86 BRZ twins over [166:21] time with ownership what would you [166:22] replace it with if you could [166:24] all right I guess this is a question for [166:26] me [166:27] um my favorite time to drive to gr86 is [166:29] someone who loves going sideways is in [166:31] the snow and in the wet and I will tell [166:34] you when the snow with snow attires if [166:36] you are okay with a thing getting loose [166:37] you can drive that thing around like [166:39] you're in a a Formula Drift race it is [166:42] unbelievably com like comical it's one [166:45] of my favorite driving experiences [166:46] everywhere else [166:48] if you're just driving like a sane [166:50] person the drivetrain is so boring so [166:54] boring it sucks the soul out of that car [166:55] not that it's slow because it's not [166:58] really anymore it's just the drivetrain [167:00] sucks on track at the limit particularly [167:02] with the way it's modified now it's good [167:04] to drive I mean it's almost as fast as [167:06] the super on re71 rs's yeah it's crazy [167:08] it kills the Nissan Z on our E71 RS is [167:11] around Audubon South I'm sure the way it [167:13] sits now is faster than you Type R [167:15] don't ever say that I was paid [167:24] that that car is superior to anything [167:26] you could come up with [167:28] um but I bought the gr86 to do a series [167:31] on for for the channel because again I [167:33] know so many of you were excited about [167:35] that car that's why we bought it we're [167:37] doing it again for the gr Corolla that's [167:39] a car I'm very interested in not because [167:41] just because you guys love it but Mark [167:43] and I were both dramatically [167:44] disappointed by it at the Press event it [167:46] was a card that I was super excited for [167:48] when we were there in like all the ads [167:51] and talking to people but when I [167:53] actually drove it compared to the Yaris [167:55] it felt neutered but it was in a limited [167:59] experience on a track we weren't [168:01] familiar with with a really weird [168:02] configuration I was so disappointed [168:05] that I know I'm going to be happy to [168:07] drive it on the street and like in real [168:08] world conditions because it just like [168:11] again it goes back to the marketing [168:13] right you see the the Larry Chen stuff [168:15] and all the marketing that they've done [168:17] for Corolla and all it is is that car [168:18] going sideways you can't get that car [168:20] sideways like you'd have to put trays on [168:23] the back of those tires to get that car [168:24] to drift and do all that stuff no Street [168:27] talking to someone who worked on those [168:30] ads that is not Larry Chen the marketing [168:32] guy the way they got it to go sideways [168:34] is they basically soak down the rear [168:36] tires or they overin flooded the tires [168:39] to the Max and used all e-brake it's not [168:42] a car that you are thinking of like when [168:44] I thought about it going sideways for [168:45] some whatever reason I was picturing the [168:46] gr86 that doesn't do that which isn't [168:50] the only reason I like cars yes when [168:51] cars go sideways like the ev6 GT I have [168:54] an infinitely better time than when they [168:56] don't yeah but that's not really the [168:58] whole point no that car understeered [168:59] everywhere everywhere it was at least on [169:01] the track that we're at it was not a car [169:03] the altitude we were at and it was not [169:05] something and it felt like there was a [169:06] lot of heat soak in it the more you [169:08] drove it the less power it made and out [169:10] of a three cylinder [169:12] I don't know again it's one of those we [169:14] I talked about this at the beginning [169:15] they put you on these press events they [169:17] blow your mind with the hype you drive [169:19] it and if you walk away disappointed [169:21] there's a problem the type R was not [169:22] that expensive the type R was not that [169:24] way the gr Corolla was so I think from a [169:26] serious perspective seeing what goes [169:28] wrong with the car first will be great [169:30] working with again Mike and David a [169:32] counter space garage will be great [169:33] Orleans have stepped up they want to do [169:35] a damper kit with us on that car to [169:37] address some of the suspension problems [169:39] with the vehicle yeah uh I'm excited for [169:41] that but I'm excited for it from a video [169:43] I want to have both the cars that we own [169:46] both the type R and the gr Corolla where [169:48] we do our own [ __ ] on track and we do [169:50] our own thing to it because it's it's it [169:52] that those are two special cars that are [169:53] on obtainium for no good reason really [169:55] but it'll be fun to to go through that [169:57] in the ownership experience of both of [169:59] them and what they do great for their [170:01] respective price points honestly all [170:03] right next question [170:05] uh thoughts on the Subaru Crosstrek six [170:08] speed man do it it's the only thing of [170:10] its kind and it's super super great as a [170:13] as a practical usable car without [170:14] getting a real SUV or the Civic which is [170:17] way more money Yes sounds like you guys [170:19] have had several sets of Olean Stampers [170:21] between the 86 and s2k would you [170:22] recommend them for non-track U yes they [170:25] are great dampers there's one caveat to [170:27] them you absolutely 100 percent have to [170:30] have the olings top hats do not go to [170:33] some aftermarket crap if you can get the [170:35] Orleans top hats and you know the to put [170:37] the shock in the the upper Hat by this [170:39] the shock or strut Tower it makes a huge [170:41] difference they never make noise unless [170:43] you have a double Wishbone car where you [170:44] don't need that you still need it you [170:46] need the camera blades for the S2000 no [170:48] it's got top hat it's still got a top [170:49] plate you know what I mean not using [170:51] reusing this Factory ones or an [170:53] aftermarket one the ones that olin's [170:55] made I I would not buy those without it [170:57] uh they're right amazing on the street I [171:00] mean there's so many people that know [171:02] the settings for them and all that stuff [171:03] too for each car they genuinely need 86 [171:06] this case it rides better than it did [171:08] stock in all conditions and the S2000 [171:10] although I did Swift Springs instead of [171:12] the stock ones the car is just so much [171:14] better in every condition I wouldn't [171:16] trade it out but I don't put a lot of [171:17] miles on the car if I was putting on 25 [171:19] 000 miles or 12 to I'm sorry 15 to 20 [171:22] 000 miles a year I would not do that I [171:24] would just stick with the stock [171:25] suspension because you you have to [171:26] already or a Bilstein or something right [171:28] yeah [171:29] uh which modern car is the worst sound [171:31] system when you answered that one the [171:32] nice or not the Nissan Ridgeline I [171:35] remember your earlier YouTuber where you [171:36] pay tribute to your late mentor and [171:38] talked about pivoting into creating car [171:40] Enthusiast content wish your critics [171:42] could see your origin story its [171:44] perspective right like the thing is is [171:46] in a moment of time this was my failing [171:49] is I made assumptions in that video this [171:51] was going back to the start of the suit [171:53] I made assumptions that people knew what [171:54] I was talking about if you do that then [171:58] like people don't have perspective of [171:59] who you are where you're coming from and [172:01] I'm not taking in perspective of other [172:03] opinions so you have to like this is the [172:05] weird thing about doing videos you have [172:07] to to try to speak out to to make it [172:10] accessible to more people so if we get [172:12] into a car and call it a pile and say [172:14] these things are garbage the Enthusiast [172:16] might know why it's garbage but the [172:18] people that are tuning in like these [172:19] guys are jerks they don't know what [172:20] they're talking about the instant [172:21] reaction is anger [172:24] um and yes if everybody knew you they [172:26] would know that you're not a bad guy [172:28] you're not a bad guy but you know like [172:31] they don't know you and I that that's my [172:33] failing and it's a good lesson for [172:35] people too is like you need to always be [172:37] aware that people don't always know [172:38] where you're coming from and you need to [172:40] take that extra time to try to be to try [172:42] to understand different points of view [172:44] and try and just make a bigger bigger [172:46] effort to be a good person okay next [172:49] question thank you [172:51] uh what was the Kirk Kirkland Signature [172:54] for automobiles asking for a friend [172:56] pags22 thank you very much CRV RAV4 [173:00] yeah pretty much [173:05] oh I have a mirror four-cylinder yeah [173:07] application you've brushed on Modern [173:10] Lotus being hard to deal with on your [173:11] end am I making a mistake [173:13] I don't want to trash them but [173:17] if you have an allocation [173:19] hopefully it's in a year [173:21] like hopefully the first model here is [173:23] done that's all I'll say [173:25] I'm I'm really excited for that car in [173:28] many ways but dealing with them on the [173:29] corporate side is very [173:31] disheartening and I think knowing what [173:34] they're like to their dealers I know [173:36] dealers are the bad guy but we knew we [173:38] the the dealer we worked with to get our [173:40] original Vora hearing what they had to [173:42] deal with from a Lotus side even then [173:45] this was after they got bought out by [173:46] Julia I'm like man [173:49] I wouldn't want to be a Lotus stealer as [173:51] an owner of an old car I would say don't [173:53] buy it [173:54] now things have changed but they've [173:57] gotten better and worse in some ways and [173:59] I know I can pretty much guarantee you [174:01] that if we had an evora or an Amira and [174:04] an avora GT back to back the old car [174:07] would be better not Better Built not [174:09] better interior but better to drive at [174:11] the limit [174:12] and that's all I'll say about it I would [174:13] say wait if you're dead set on it wait [174:15] it out please just wait it out until [174:17] they can get production up and there's [174:18] more people with these cars and more [174:20] people that actually have driven them [174:21] for real and not just like hand-picked [174:23] certain people to drive them in order [174:25] just to get the production up the the [174:27] Amira four cylinder as well I think the [174:30] biggest thing about the car is getting [174:31] it as a manual and you can't get it with [174:33] a fort bobber yeah [174:35] A6 all Road EF E450 all-terrainer A6 all [174:39] Road Tyler thanks for the five dollars [174:41] all road every single day yeah it's a [174:43] great car I bought my 13 BRZ with 600 [174:47] 269 [174:48] 000 miles original drive here from an [174:50] old doctor for under 5K he only used [174:52] regular gas any harm switching to [174:53] premium switch to premium right away the [174:56] engine tuning was set up for that [175:00] um not to say that the engine would have [175:01] a problem particularly after 269 000 [175:03] miles yeah I mean he probably drove it [175:05] like a grandma but yeah the you'll get a [175:07] lot better performance out of premium [175:09] and then you'll also want to do like [175:11] fuel like a fuel injection flush or just [175:14] use like Techron for like five fill ups [175:18] just to flush any deposits out [175:21] um because it's dual injection you're [175:22] gonna have a lot less worry but I would [175:23] switch 100 switch to premium run two [175:27] tanks through and then disconnect the [175:28] battery cable like the negative battery [175:30] cable let it sit for like two minutes [175:32] plug it back in and then immediately [175:35] start it and drive it like normal around [175:37] for like a hundred miles because it'll [175:39] really relearn the fuel Trims on that [175:41] car so your fuel trims will correct and [175:43] then the ECU will recalibrate its knock [175:46] sensor to the different octane fuel that [175:48] you're running and you'll get better [175:49] performance out of it um I'm going to [175:51] answer a question from Super Chat [175:53] um spiffy Acorn asked thoughts on the [175:55] future of Jaguar as a brand [175:59] um and their relationship with Land [176:00] Rover I'm a big Jag guy I have just [176:02] because they're sort of the the underdog [176:04] but I can tell you from talking to the [176:06] Reps [176:07] formally he worked there and currently [176:09] who worked there [176:11] they're Sol I mean I don't know how they [176:14] survive personally like Jaguars talking [176:16] about going super high-end I don't know [176:18] how they do that the only thing that [176:20] keeps that brand alive from an [176:21] automotive perspective is the f-pace and [176:24] what really keeps that brand alive is [176:25] Range Rover like Range Rover Land Rover [176:28] sell fairly well for their segment but [176:31] the people who ran Jaguar [176:33] squandered such a massive opportunity [176:36] from five six seven years ago when the [176:38] XC and XF were first re-released they [176:40] were actually good cars when the F Pace [176:41] actually came out and they just didn't [176:43] do [ __ ] with them right yeah they don't [176:45] have a lot of money it's again you're [176:46] trying to do a lot with a little and [176:48] compete in a luxury space where you have [176:49] these Giants that have a lot more [176:52] resources and they're there that's just [176:54] how it's always been they've had the [176:55] pull budget and pull resources from [176:57] everything and you know it's there's a [177:00] lot of competition it got so bad for [177:02] Jaguar from what I would have been told [177:04] that they've literally had to sell press [177:05] cars to just keep operations going [177:08] that's crazy from uh like a PR [177:10] perspective [177:11] next question Chris walks fast for five [177:14] dollars and again thank you to everybody [177:15] who's donated to ask a question I've [177:17] also mixed in non-paid questions in here [177:18] this time because it's easier how did [177:20] the Integra Type R S 2000 NSX compare in [177:23] terms of gearbox driving phone and [177:24] something you'd want to purchase or keep [177:26] uh I would put it in this order honestly [177:30] um stock stock stock cars I would say [177:34] NSX [177:35] S2000 and type R and I only say that [177:38] because the type R is [177:40] you know for what it's going for is not [177:43] worth more than an S2000 there's not no [177:46] planet that the type R is better than [177:47] this 2000 stock for like spending forty [177:50] thousand fifty thousand dollars [177:52] um [177:54] and it makes sense that was the price [177:56] point the NSX was like the the you know [177:58] Pinnacle halo car S2000 was like they're [178:01] one of their only rear-wheel drive cars [178:03] in the type R was front-wheel drive the [178:04] first chin NSX the ones pre-power [178:07] steering so 94 and Below 94 and Below [178:10] um you drive like around the street [178:11] you're hyper underwhelmed and we got for [178:15] this video that we're doing we got a [178:16] museum car shipped over to us we drove [178:18] it on the street and I'm like why when [178:20] you drove it on the track within one lap [178:23] once you load up that car you're like [178:24] this thing is amazing yeah we we said [178:27] this and we're probably not going to say [178:29] it in the video but it's one of the only [178:30] cars where you can't believe how much of [178:32] a difference in personality it had like [178:35] from what it drives like on the street [178:37] you're like this is going to be horrible [178:39] on track but again this is 94 and Below [178:42] when it had newer tires on it to be [178:44] honest it was like I think the Dunlop [178:46] derezas on it something more sticky so [178:49] when you got on the track it's because [178:50] there's it was manual power steering and [178:53] or manual steering I'm sorry manual [178:55] steering rack in the 94 and below and it [178:57] like it was a workout in your arms to [179:00] steer this thing you felt everything [179:01] through it and the engine was just it's [179:03] just powerful enough for the car it was [179:06] so much fun to drive [179:08] um and it is a special car even with its [179:10] era removed it's definitely not fast but [179:12] it you feel something that's what all [179:14] these cars here the S2000 has the least [179:16] amount of feel in my opinion but it's [179:18] the best dynamically how it moves with [179:20] you and moves around corners but special [179:23] cars for their era [179:25] uh when will you review the 2023 BMW 7 [179:29] Series is it better overall than an A8 [179:31] uh I have no idea what we're going to [179:34] get BMW is an interesting brand they [179:37] will work with us they will answer some [179:39] of our technical questions but when it [179:40] comes to giving us Vehicles we ask for [179:42] they're terrible at it but giving us [179:44] random cars like a BMW X1 or a refreshed [179:47] X7 they will we're going to get [179:49] whatever's in their Fleet that's it if [179:52] there's anything outside that's not in [179:53] our Fleet we're not getting it and if we [179:55] have anything outside of normal [179:56] questions we're not getting answers on [179:58] BMW so for Jack and I we both have BMWs [180:02] in our family it's disappointing from [180:04] that perspective like we should have [180:06] more technical detail but it goes back [180:07] to this conversation it's a German [180:09] company and in America does answering [180:13] questions exactly it's it's [ __ ] [180:15] annoying [180:17] Bob Vandal the second twenty dollars [180:19] please compare the new M2 to my f87 m2c [180:23] or M2 competition also how can I [180:26] how can a M5 and M8 still look damn good [180:30] but the M3 and M4 are ugly it's a [180:32] generation of the product for that the [180:34] M3 and the M4 were designed later it's [180:37] the new design language guaranteed the [180:38] M5 and the M8 when the next ones come [180:40] out they're just as ugly M5 is M5 and M8 [180:43] I think aren't they killing off the 8 [180:44] series I thought they were killing it I [180:46] don't remember anyway even if they [180:48] didn't let's say that I'm five and I may [180:49] come out they're gonna look like the [180:50] seven series The like stodgy weird what [180:53] did you say that it looked like it [180:54] looked like a [180:55] I don't know some really weird [180:57] comparison looks horrible okay [181:00] um the new we're gonna do a new M2 video [181:02] whenever we get one that's the one big [181:04] project I pitched BMW one they said [181:05] maybe [181:07] um I'm hoping it's good but honestly [181:09] everything I've read and everything I've [181:10] talked to people about it's gonna drive [181:12] like the M3 or the M4 [181:15] but a little bit smaller and a little [181:17] bit less powerful that M2 is ugly as [181:19] [ __ ] yeah it's a holy [ __ ] yeah I mean [181:22] uh like uh whatever yeah it's an ugly [181:25] car man I would keep your M2 is there a [181:28] date on the GT3 RS video I can't tell [181:30] you when the Press Drive is for the [181:31] America but it's coming yeah coming in [181:34] the next couple months yep our video [181:36] should be on the next couple of months [181:37] yeah [181:38] uh eight uh Ragnar Khan thank you for [181:41] the ten dollars HDR content looks great [181:43] didn't expect it to type our headlights [181:45] to blast my retinas to the back of my [181:48] brain during my morning trip to the [181:49] porcelain Throne any production [181:51] difficulties with HDR I I mean like I [181:53] told Jack and he's probably already like [181:55] cringing because this is like a [181:56] three-hour discussion but I can't [181:57] believe the amount of work that it was [181:59] to find out information about HDR uh and [182:03] how to do it for YouTube and it it's [182:06] it's not that it's there's a lot like [182:08] Linus Tech tips talks about this a lot [182:10] of HDR channels and I've talked to [182:12] somebody that works in Hollywood [182:13] essentially as uh [182:15] cinematographer and more [182:18] um it's because people don't understand [182:20] the technical part of doing it how to do [182:22] it and the fact that it's very expensive [182:24] to produce an HDR video so in the real [182:27] world for delivery of HDR you're working [182:29] for a major Studio Disney Amazon Netflix [182:31] right like those are the places that are [182:33] gonna have HDR delivery for social media [182:35] you can forget it because you need [182:37] a five thousand dollar plus display [182:39] that's calibrated calibrated correctly [182:41] and then you need all the software to be [182:44] synced up like Windows or Mac uh you [182:47] need your editing program to be synced [182:50] up with color profile and connected to [182:51] the the display properly to edit in that [182:54] workspace and then you need to export it [182:56] properly [182:57] um and and all those moving pieces plus [182:59] the cost is why people don't do it [183:00] period and to upload it and make sure [183:03] the HDR version and the SDR which is [183:07] like 4K there's 4K SDR there's 4K HDR [183:10] and to make sure that both those look [183:12] the same because they're handled [183:13] differently that's the problem and [183:15] that's the problem I'm having it takes [183:17] work to get there and most people don't [183:19] want to spend the time to do that for [183:21] like less than two percent of the [183:22] audience that has HDR content outside of [183:25] their phone most of our phones can do [183:27] HDR on our screens because that's how [183:29] they are but most people on TVs and most [183:31] people on computers don't have HDR [183:34] displays so a lot of people don't do it [183:36] because of that and I'm gonna do it [183:38] because I want to Future proof the [183:39] content and I will figure out how to way [183:41] to make SDR and HDR work properly and [183:44] once you do it once you figure it out [183:46] it's like everything else and then it [183:48] becomes a part of the the workflow [183:50] um again that's why I have a Dell [183:51] partnership that's why I have the help [183:53] on the technical and the hardware side [183:55] because now I have the equipment I have [183:57] the help on the technical side to work [183:58] through this [ __ ] I have contacts with [184:00] Nvidia if I need it I will have contacts [184:02] with Intel so you know like it sounds [184:05] like [ __ ] but really as on your own [184:07] if you're having people work in these [184:09] major industries like Hollywood not [184:11] knowing how to do it or they're having [184:13] problems doing it and you're talking [184:14] about somebody who's making content on [184:16] YouTube like I need help period I mean [184:19] I've figured it out on my own without a [184:20] lot of help but it's it's still again [184:22] one more thing to do anyway that's the [184:24] short and long answer next question [184:27] James would you recommend Olin Stampers [184:30] as an upgrade to a Miata RF or non-track [184:33] use [184:34] seeing as you guys have experienced with [184:37] them thanks yes do it 100 well you can [184:39] afford it and you know you're okay doing [184:41] the work it'll really they're not [184:43] something that's going to [ __ ] up the [184:44] car and it's not something that's going [184:46] to screw it up long term and anybody [184:47] that buys it will think the things [184:49] jewelry as long as you don't drive it in [184:51] the salt and you set it up right and you [184:54] get the the suspension assemble right [184:56] your alignment right and you make sure [184:57] you use the olean's top hats that that [184:59] you can get you're all good [185:02] uh next one is Kia K5 GT thoughts my [185:06] focus got T-boned I'm glad you're all [185:08] right thank you for the ten dollars I [185:10] like the car I think it's great it's [185:12] just know what you're getting into with [185:13] it the dynamic problems of that car are [185:17] not tremendous with a high output engine [185:19] yeah it's the same problem with like the [185:20] Sonata and the gearboxes aren't great [185:22] it's a lot of car for the money though [185:23] it is yeah to me if you can get a Civic [185:27] though honestly like a Civic hatch I [185:28] think it's a better girl yeah how much [185:30] did they pay you for that ad a lot okay [185:32] so buy a Civic don't buy a Kia product [185:34] Oh that hundred thousand mile warranty [185:36] is nothing [185:38] I I think it's great I think it's one of [185:40] the best mid-sized cars I just you know [185:42] now with all the [ __ ] with the [185:43] reliability that's my big problem yeah [185:45] yeah and they're not they're not the [185:46] most transparent brand either [185:49] um 1999 [185:51] 19.99 from fodios thank you very much [185:54] would you would love to know what you [185:56] guys think about the ml or the GLE 350 [185:58] prior to the 2020 redesign they have [186:00] nationally aspirated v6s and I heard [186:02] they are reliable uh that's my [186:04] understanding I don't know the repair [186:06] part of that car I'll be honest and [186:09] personally like Jack and I are the same [186:11] and we've gotten more aligned if I'm [186:14] going that direction I'm always buying [186:15] BMW Rowdy every single time or you know [186:18] if I had more money I would get a [186:19] Porsche [186:20] um if you're a Mercedes person you're [186:23] much safer with a naturally aspirated V6 [186:26] if that's what you're worried about and [186:27] if that's the car you want I don't think [186:29] that you're going to go wrong just make [186:31] sure you have a warranty at least to [186:33] like 75 000 miles to mitigate any [186:35] potential problems that you do have [186:36] buying an old luxury product that's a [186:39] commodity product used and is going to [186:43] be a painful process when it comes to [186:44] repairs and if you're trying to do it on [186:45] a budget [186:47] be prepared I'm not saying it's going to [186:49] happen to you but be prepared yeah [186:51] exactly [186:52] uh Chris hello again 9.99 do you think [186:55] YouTube limits certain content creators [186:57] growth typically those that are [186:58] conservative through their phones [187:00] listening like they do for ads search [187:02] history video preference [187:04] um [187:05] I think in certain areas yes I think [187:08] they're looking more for what's going to [187:09] make the money right I mean if you fall [187:12] in if you look at their guidelines for [187:15] monetizing a video every time I monetize [187:17] a video here which I don't want to bring [187:18] up because it's just too much work it'll [187:20] have this list of things of what you [187:22] have in your video and then it's okay to [187:24] monetize as long as you're within that [187:25] scope and you're Advertiser friendly [187:27] they make all their money for through [187:29] advertisers so if you check all those [187:30] boxes they're going to promote the [ __ ] [187:32] out of you they don't care what your [187:33] content is honestly as long as it can [187:34] make the money if they cared about what [187:36] the content was they'd be more Hands-On [187:37] with individual creators curating more [187:40] and more of it but it's you're on an [187:41] island on your own and as long as you're [187:43] reaching out to an audience and you meet [187:45] their their criteria you should be able [187:47] to you should be fine there's a lot more [187:50] tricks to this and we talked about it [187:51] earlier like if you calling out likes [187:54] and subscribes and every video has like [187:55] a ton of likes a ton of subscribers a [187:58] lot of Engagement and a lot of like [188:00] reshareable content where when they [188:01] share it it keeps accelerating they [188:03] don't care what that content is as long [188:05] as it meets all that stuff and if you [188:07] can play Within those confines yes [188:09] you're going to be successful do they [188:10] limit people artificially through all [188:13] that I don't think that they do I just [188:15] think there's certain things that will [188:16] grow faster than others it's just the [188:18] nature of the Beast [188:21] um [188:22] when do you think a Chinese brand will [188:24] finally correct the US market Hyundai [188:26] kios 20 years ago will Vietnam be China [188:28] this is Matt for 4.99 do we have any [188:32] mainstream Chinese vehicles besides well [188:36] but I mean that that that's not fair [188:38] because Volvo's not Chinese you know [188:41] what I mean like not they're not out of [188:43] China coming into the Chinese market [188:45] I think uh I never talk about political [188:48] stuff on this channel but I think the [188:50] political animosity that the US and [188:52] China have will one another and I think [188:54] that's only going to get worse is going [188:56] to stop a Chinese brand with a Chinese [188:58] name making it in the US long term the [189:00] Vietnamese have a much higher likelihood [189:02] of that happening [189:03] just to be honest [189:05] you know in in Russia Chinese cars do [189:08] really really well yeah they're not [189:10] going to do well here in this country [189:11] not for a long time because of the [189:13] political stuff yeah and to be honest I [189:16] don't know anything about the Chinese [189:16] car market other than I lived in China [189:19] for a long time as an expat but you know [189:21] back then it was primarily American and [189:24] German and Japanese cars like the [189:26] Chinese vehicles are viewed as cheap [189:28] [ __ ] boxes yeah [189:29] I don't know anything about their higher [189:31] end or commodity cars the kind of cars [189:33] that would be brought here and sold so I [189:34] can't I don't think it's happening here [189:36] I I agree with you I think that the [189:38] consensus is people would be opposed to [189:40] it unless you had some amazing like even [189:42] then they would have to do what Julie [189:44] did in buy out Brands to make it work [189:45] that's it it's going to take a long time [189:48] if it did it would be 20 plus years also [189:50] please stop asking more paid questions [189:52] or questions in general uh we're going [189:55] to try to get through all the the last [189:56] paid questions and and yeah I can't yeah [189:59] because we can't keep up with anything [190:00] more [190:01] um how about some old car reviews like [190:02] the Citroen SM thank you for the ten [190:05] dollars thank you Stefan as well [190:08] um [190:08] we're trying we'd like to do some more [190:10] old cars and the problem is well we can [190:13] get we're doing some K car videos here [190:15] shortly and it comes down to viewers and [190:17] for businesses that see value in what we [190:19] do and are willing to work around the [190:20] long shoot times like we know Scott at [190:23] King Motorsports really really well on [190:24] the CRX and like the mark IV Supra you [190:27] love the album just left us the car for [190:29] for months right but that's album that's [190:31] not a normal case yes you know what I [190:33] mean normally it's like a week or at [190:35] least half a week you can't you can't [190:36] take a private owner's car for like two [190:38] or three weeks I mean like we'd have to [190:40] bang it out and our schedule would have [190:41] to be open and you know like I was [190:44] joking around with somebody they're like [190:45] oh you you said oh yeah you'll be slower [190:47] in the winter and then you're even [190:48] busier because the the money is lower [190:52] after like the money is the worst in [190:55] January February March and April so you [190:58] have to actually do more work to make up [191:00] for the fact that there's less money [191:01] available so like there's no way to ever [191:03] take a break doing this that's what [191:06] sucks [191:07] um but the the viewer stuff is like we [191:09] want to do it in good weather where the [191:11] risks are loaded to a private owner's [191:12] car we don't want to be getting it dirty [191:14] and all that crap so there's a lot more [191:16] liability with doing older cars that are [191:18] private owners too we have like [191:20] contracts that people have to sign you [191:21] have the liability waivers but there's [191:23] still a risk there and like we try to [191:25] stay away from that as much as possible [191:28] Morgan s thank you very much for the 50 [191:30] yeah thank you appreciate it uh after my [191:32] order last January took seven months to [191:34] take delivery of my Chevy Spark wow [191:37] um seven months it was all worth it [191:40] though to own an American icon you guys [191:42] are free to borrow it for a documentary [191:44] do you see any future cars in the US for [191:48] an expensive you got you got me dude [191:49] well done sir or unless it's Morgan [191:51] could be a female because our audience [191:53] is [191:54] 99.1 female right well Morgan [191:58] um I I will tell you as a joke uh when [192:01] we pitched GM on the Z06 project the [192:04] same gentleman who's in charge of the [192:07] Chevy tracks just to be an [ __ ] I'm [192:09] like look we'll do a documentary on the [192:11] Chevy tracks for you as well but sadly [192:13] the car was announced too early for us [192:15] to be taken up on that offer yeah we [192:17] missed out so we'll we'll have to meet [192:19] up with you [192:20] um I'm looking at trying to make this a [192:22] six-month project so if it takes me like [192:25] a month to shoot all the wheels yeah [192:28] I'm gonna you I'm going to use the [192:30] world's first Thermal electric camera [192:32] where I excite the wheels with [192:34] electricity to see the the atom space of [192:37] how they design these things uh all [192:40] right next one [192:41] whatever I just said didn't make any [192:43] sense hello guys I have the opportunity [192:44] to buy an LC 500 my seven mile commute [192:47] be bad for the car including Autobahn uh [192:49] just it has to get up to temperature [192:51] really it's about the thermal cycle so [192:54] just because your engine's up to [192:56] temperature and the coolant and the oil [192:58] may be up to temperature that doesn't [192:59] mean the gearbox is up to temperature it [193:00] doesn't mean suspension bushings [193:02] electronics and all that so that's what [193:05] really hurts a car when you get to this [193:06] on evil uneven thermal cycling of a [193:09] product so you want to make sure that [193:10] you drive it long enough to get these [193:12] systems worked up and then you don't [193:14] want to be shocking the car like you [193:16] don't want to get it to like maximum [193:17] heat and then maximum cooling off you [193:19] always want to keep it somewhere in the [193:20] middle so the long story short is short [193:23] commutes are really bad and then like [193:25] abusive commutes where you just like [193:28] beat the [ __ ] out of it and then just [193:30] hey park it in a refrigerator and like [193:33] Let It shock so try to drive it a little [193:35] bit more [193:37] um if you can or before you hop in the [193:39] Autobahn and do 900 miles an hour I [193:41] think seven miles honestly as long as [193:43] you're not like try to drive it [193:45] moderately don't just like leave it at [193:47] 1500 RPM try to get it like 3 500 or [193:51] below to get some of these systems going [193:53] not kind of an odd explanation what [193:55] happened to terbowsky I invited him back [193:58] to do a cameo uh that's where I'm going [194:00] to leave it it hasn't happened [194:02] uh will Savage geese ever be in 10 bit [194:05] 8K so I can enjoy this on my 60k Android [194:07] phone [194:09] thank you Joseph for the Canter for the [194:11] ten dollars yeah I don't know man it's [194:13] gonna be a while uh probably another uh [194:17] you know with all this the commercials [194:19] I'm shooting for Honda dealerships now I [194:21] could I could be making 8K money here to [194:24] to buy what a 80 000 camera body and [194:27] what a sixty thousand dollar lens the [194:28] start wall lens kit would be like 300 [194:30] 000. that's a deal with those prices you [194:33] can't afford not to do it if anybody [194:34] wants to buy the K series lenses from [194:36] Canon that have been re-bodied [194:38] um from the film days for me I will [194:41] shoot everything in that but I think [194:42] it's like 300 000 I mean but you're [194:44] getting five lenses [194:47] I think think of what we can shoot thank [194:50] you for the ten dollars so you look at [194:51] that per picture I'm sorry but you look [194:53] so professional it makes me feel bad [194:54] about myself [194:56] need more Type R videos you can count on [194:58] it I'm going to the dealership tomorrow [195:00] to shoot more [195:01] give her the super sticker thank you [195:04] James thank you for the attention for [195:06] the ten dollars sir thank you very much [195:07] as much as I hate to say this why isn't [195:10] there lobbying against the EPA to set [195:11] realistic emissions goals for cars to [195:13] make them more affordable Trump was the [195:15] only person who seemed to do this I [195:17] don't think Trump really did it because [195:19] he knew what he was doing I think it was [195:21] just because he was like being asked to [195:22] do it by a lot of the people that had [195:24] them I don't even think the the EPA [195:26] regulations or the pure thing that's set [195:29] prices for cars I think a lot of the [195:30] reasons why you've seen cars get more [195:32] expensive other than obviously inflation [195:33] is all the [ __ ] people expect in cars [195:36] now right like you've got Mazda is a [195:39] primary example or great example of [195:41] traditional four-cylinder cars outside [195:43] of their turbo variants they get amazing [195:45] fuel economy of no [ __ ] associated [195:47] with them right that that's true I mean [195:49] I think the EPA stuff is much different [195:51] than the features people expect [195:54] um I I don't know enough of the inside [195:57] baseball the regulation part of it and [195:59] the government part that who really sets [196:02] the criteria because the manufacturer is [196:03] a huge Lobby right like there's a lot of [196:06] money that backs them and they're still [196:07] not able to dictate regulation enough I [196:10] don't know if it's come back to bite [196:11] them over the years of like okay they [196:14] got away with murder now the regulatory [196:16] process is becoming oppressive to them [196:18] and it's like not working in their favor [196:19] but clearly I think a lot of the [196:21] regulations are not set by people that [196:24] know the long term and the big picture [196:26] part of how things actually work if they [196:29] had a body of like Engineers economists [196:31] people that worked in the industrations [196:33] don't actually know anything well I I [196:36] mean there's some smart people but [196:37] clearly in this space there's not a [196:39] really good like understanding of what [196:41] this longness is they're not [196:44] particularly technically minded next [196:45] question [196:46] Raphael ten dollars I don't get it [196:49] everyone moving to SUVs but I never see [196:51] more than two people in them and they're [196:53] carrying they're never carrying anything [196:54] this has been going on since the 2000s [196:57] when the SUV boom came uh there was a [197:00] huge push against it you even had [197:01] political pressure or social pressure [197:03] against Ford to kill the uh uh what was [197:08] the pile [197:09] the Canyon Arrow yeah the not the [197:11] Expedition the bigger one oh the [197:13] Excursion yeah there was political [197:15] pressure for them to kill the the [197:16] Excursion because it was excess and now [197:19] we're there back again and [197:22] EVs and everything right and the reality [197:25] is this is what people wants this is [197:27] what people want and it's okay and [197:30] that's what people have the money to buy [197:31] and that's what manufacturers are going [197:33] to make and that's it you you like if [197:35] you told somebody that why are you [197:37] driving [197:38] this big car and it's only you in it [197:40] they will make 100 excuses and the first [197:42] reaction will be anger go [ __ ] yourself [197:44] you can't tell people to change you [197:46] can't people to tell them what's right [197:47] or wrong like they have to learn on [197:49] their own and that's why we're like [197:51] always so behind the eight ball with [197:52] everything like practicality practical [197:54] sense like this doesn't make sense more [197:56] so in this country we want everything [197:58] big [198:00] um we want everything massive we want [198:01] like the screen thing is hilarious like [198:03] manufacturers does like everybody wants [198:05] big screens like why well they want big [198:07] screens because it looks cool it doesn't [198:09] mean yes right now on the screen is [198:12] enormous for no reason for no reason [198:13] yeah it doesn't make it any better but [198:14] again you can translate that mentality [198:16] of the screen into cars and all that and [198:18] I'm not saying that big cars don't have [198:20] a functional purpose like I have an X7 [198:22] but I'm using it to haul [ __ ] I'm using [198:24] it for camera out of the back to shoot [198:26] other cars do I need an X7 to do that no [198:29] it's a luxury product you need a doors I [198:31] need an SUV or I need a minivan really [198:33] it's more than anything but you know [198:35] again it doesn't make logical sense I [198:37] don't really need it but I want it [198:38] because I put a lot of miles I can I can [198:40] haul all my gold bars this guy can hold [198:42] his gold bars and if I put him in a [198:43] minivan he would think we're in a we're [198:45] in a bad business so anyway you know it [198:48] there's contradictory points to all this [198:49] nice question I agree with you man there [198:52] needs to be some change but it's not [198:53] happening uh please just watch and [198:56] review Sam Hyde Lamborghini Huracan [198:57] review on stream [198:59] uh I will watch that maybe one day but [199:04] thank you so much for the ten dollars I [199:05] don't even know who Sam Hyde is I think [199:08] I've seen some of this stuff I don't [199:10] want to flip over to um [199:17] is it like insufferable I would assumer [199:21] I assume it's pretty horrible was it [199:24] which car dude I don't want you to I [199:26] have no idea yeah that's the hurricane [199:27] all right move on to the next question [199:28] we'll visit that later [199:31] yeah it's your boy [199:37] this car makes me so mad [199:40] and I don't even want to go have my [199:42] chocolate chip pancake breakfast [199:45] okay all right you can count me and I [199:48] will watch it [199:49] I'm sure you could hear that in the [199:51] background and uh that was it's pretty [199:53] amazing okay all right thank you I will [199:55] watch that I just put it put it in my [199:57] watch later [199:58] all right uh next can we oh type S [200:02] through g70 uh hard hard hard question [200:06] uh depends on what you're doing with it [200:08] I like the type S better as like a daily [200:11] commuter but the g70 is a lot more [200:13] better a lot more engaging to drive [200:15] because of the rear wheel drive aspect [200:16] of it yeah chin faces back oh yes even [200:19] our comments oh good is he moderating [200:20] yeah [200:22] uh he's like oh man now we can do this [200:24] for another four hours Mr Goose did [200:26] Marisol Patel ever learn how to suggest [200:28] successfully drive stick yes and then uh [200:32] after she no longer needed that vehicle [200:34] because she got her own car back she [200:36] never drove it again and that's a true [200:38] story thanks for the advice here's a [200:41] bottle of Goose Island for you joe718 [200:43] GT4 ten dollars are you gonna make out [200:45] with this guy because he's is that a [200:46] Miami blue or is that yes Miami blue [200:49] blue and we're both Asian oh really yeah [200:51] that's what I hear yeah yeah you guys [200:53] stick together [200:57] uh a feed rodart thank you very much for [201:01] the twenty dollars uh thank you for the [201:03] great content your hard work is [201:04] definitely appreciated I've attuned B9 [201:06] RS5 thinking of getting a 20 plus 911 S [201:10] or a 19 Vantage uh do the 911s the RS5 [201:13] surprisingly was really solid the B9 [201:16] platform was really good but I would the [201:18] 911 it's way better yeah don't don't [201:20] touch the Vantage dude thought speed [201:22] luxury and comfort are my main points [201:24] the the 911 is just comfortable enough [201:26] it's super usable and it's fast as hell [201:28] for what it is and you can actually get [201:30] it worked on yeah and you can have a lot [201:32] of fun with it it's a it's the best of [201:34] all worlds even though it may seem a [201:35] little bit more boring than the Vantage [201:37] it does what it set out to do the dude [201:40] 365. have you guys looked into eutrion [201:43] donating for more premium Kirkland's uh [201:45] signature content uh utreon no I have [201:48] not uh I will put that in another tab [201:51] here to assuming you're being serious [201:53] because my sarcasm is broken [201:56] nice spell there no you didn't spell it [201:58] right oh I didn't what is it oh [202:00] oops here [202:07] I still didn't spell it right [202:09] there we go [202:12] the World of Tomorrow it's already here [202:14] so we may as well laugh [202:18] anyway moving it up all right all right [202:21] thank you very much appreciate the [202:23] donation as always [202:25] Peter Gonzalez as a new father I'm [202:27] looking at selling my nd2 Miata is there [202:30] a car you can recommend that can give me [202:32] a similar emotional resp [202:35] onse response manual preferred the [202:38] really the only thing is the 86 and it [202:41] has you can't really yeah you could you [202:43] could you could you're [202:45] you can put a car seat in the Bank of [202:47] the 86 but you never want to take it out [202:49] and you're going to have to be prepared [202:51] to [202:52] be frustrated getting in and out of that [202:56] back seat if you're okay in your limber [202:59] and you can make the excuse for having a [203:02] fun car the 86 rides just good enough [203:04] where it's not going to be an issue it's [203:06] a pretty safe car it's a fun car and [203:07] you're not going to have your soul [203:08] sucked out so I'm gonna leave it at that [203:10] next question [203:12] Savage geese Mark are you going to do an [203:13] update video on your XC90 do you still [203:15] have it or is it in the trash Heap I [203:17] traded in for an X7 and I will have an [203:19] X7 video of why I sold the XC90 and the [203:22] X7 with the refreshed X7 together and [203:25] including an MDX Type S like Series so [203:28] it's going to be like three videos on [203:31] and that's whenever I get around to it [203:32] and it will be in the next two months [203:33] because we have the Press car coming [203:35] next month correct [203:38] Joanne the corrupt FBI and CIA are [203:41] watching everything [203:43] they're watching you AJ thank you for [203:45] your oh Dizzle my man thank you for your [203:48] five dollar super sticker Gabriel Smiley [203:51] look he's smiling in his picture 9.99 [203:53] thank you for your honesty and [203:54] outstanding quality thank you [203:57] and this one is [204:00] 2.99 what do you think about the new [204:02] Mustang GT well that is another one of [204:04] those projects that uh we're probably [204:07] hopefully going to do we're pitched [204:09] forward on a big big Mustang project for [204:12] the new car [204:14] um I think it's basically an evolution [204:16] of a current product which isn't the end [204:17] of the world but [204:19] I think the last one looked better but I [204:22] think if you bring a lot of the [204:24] suspension improvements from GT350 and [204:26] trickle them down into regular Mustang [204:28] and improve the Interior Space it [204:32] it's fine the the sad part is Camaro's [204:34] dying and Challengers 10 million years [204:36] old [204:37] oh yeah I mean the the [204:41] there's not I mean it's going to be a [204:43] sad future when these cars go away you [204:45] know what I mean like that as much as [204:47] the Challenger and the charger have [204:49] gotten like a horribly bad rap now [204:51] they've turned into like this meme cars [204:53] yeah meme cars with all the [204:55] the street stuff and all that crap I [204:58] mean they are special I think [205:02] I'm gonna miss the Mustang when it's [205:03] gone I mean I the camera generation yeah [205:06] the Mustang but I think the generation [205:08] after this next one apparently is going [205:10] to go EV which is not ideal [205:12] um not that there's anything inherently [205:14] wrong with that I just if EVS are the [205:15] way they are today [205:17] I don't I'm not super looking forward to [205:19] it how many more questions you want to [205:21] answer mark because I've been doing this [205:22] for three and a half hours I'm gonna cut [205:23] this off and [205:25] I'm going to try to get through these [205:27] three or four or I'm sorry there's quite [205:29] a few more there's quite a few more I'm [205:30] just scrolling up now to look and see to [205:33] a certain point [205:34] um [205:35] we'll try to bang these out really quick [205:39] if I'm going up to 823 back up to eight [205:42] eight PM 8 23 P.M [205:46] uh and I think that's where we're gonna [205:48] leave it uh so [205:52] for RJ [205:54] for 49 I'm sorry I can show your [205:57] question you guys are the best reviews [205:58] and keep me company every morning after [206:00] morning coffee RJ thank you very much [206:02] yeah thank you hopefully it doesn't ruin [206:04] your coffee [206:05] uh five dollars of the ct4 and ct5's [206:08] knob like Wing any good for the money [206:10] the bws get all the attention that's [206:12] true [206:13] man I I've never driven them so I don't [206:17] know I I couldn't tell you but the black [206:19] wings are really special for me V8 or [206:22] great manual six V8 yeah yeah V8 the [206:26] v8's good man the ct5 the ct5 is where I [206:29] would I wouldn't even bother with the [206:31] ct4 the ct5 is like old American like V8 [206:35] luxury you I don't see you needing all [206:38] the power of the V8 but V8 [206:42] twenty dollars how do you think the [206:44] history will view the VB WRX will it get [206:47] forgotten or will there be dying will or [206:49] will the dying of standard Standalone [206:51] ice make people look at it more look up [206:53] what the vbw RX is oh it's the current [206:55] generation WRX [206:59] pain I think it'll just be another WRX I [207:01] think they're going to fix it mid-mid [207:03] cycle I think they're gonna mind a [207:04] painting at mid-cycle or you know people [207:06] were talking about the crosstalk why not [207:08] just make that like a WRX going forward [207:11] because people love these crossover [207:13] things people love the crosstalk why not [207:15] just make that the performance moniker [207:16] going forward instead of like the [207:17] traditional WRX that they're nerfing I [207:19] mean they've nerfed the hell out of it [207:21] at this point so like I I don't know I I [207:24] think it's good it just needs work they [207:27] need to fix some of the problems that it [207:28] has and I think they will do it before [207:29] it gets killed I agree all right uh we [207:33] got five dollars from Christian if you [207:37] were an oem how would you make your [207:39] vehicles less not disposable [207:42] being able to fix them [207:44] more Simplicity when it comes to like [207:47] the RAV4 is the primary example if I if [207:50] I was making commodity cars and I was [207:52] gonna try to sell a lot of them and try [207:54] to tell people that do they could keep [207:55] them five to seven years I'd make [207:57] everything now as a standout to be just [208:01] modern enough like the RAV4 is just [208:03] reliable enough that you can keep it for [208:05] a long long time that would be my [208:07] template like I think throwing every [208:09] feature at a vehicle and ignoring [208:11] mechanical [208:12] bits of the vehicle and mechanical [208:15] maintenance components is not the right [208:17] move it has to be a ground up rethink so [208:21] if you were going to give a manufacturer [208:22] advice that means you have to take an [208:24] account that a lot of the things that we [208:25] want them to do will not sell cars the [208:28] other things we want them to do will not [208:29] meet regulatory emissions without a [208:31] massive amount of r d so for me I'd be [208:34] like naturally aspirated engines across [208:36] the board that were built from the [208:38] ground up one for efficiency one for [208:40] power and then build it out where it's [208:43] easy to work on parts are available not [208:45] over complicated [208:47] um then have a powerful version of it [208:48] but they're never going to do that [208:49] because it's easier to downsize them and [208:51] then the same thing with electronics on [208:52] the inside you know make it modular but [208:55] don't have all the tech that that kills [208:57] these cars and makes them more expensive [208:58] like having 20 sensors and bumpers that [209:00] if you get into a 10 mile impact the [209:02] repair bill is like six thousand dollars [209:04] this is becoming a requirement it's [209:06] becoming an expectation so there's no [209:07] way to go back at this point there's [209:09] just no way to fix it and I'm sorry [209:11] there's ways to make it more easy to fix [209:14] and less disposable but it's [209:15] contradictory to what the buying public [209:17] wants so it's just not going to happen [209:19] um ten dollars how difficult are making [209:21] comparison videos chances on getting a [209:23] comparison video of 50 to 60 Sports we [209:26] tried doing one with RS3 and Blackwing [209:28] Audi backed out [209:30] yeah if it's press cars it's really hard [209:32] because if you're going to take it from [209:33] a performance perspective they don't [209:34] want a loser of course and if it's timed [209:37] they don't want to lose a timed lap uh [209:40] there's a liability there with putting [209:42] on a track so we're gonna we have a [209:43] comparison coming up in a couple weeks [209:45] that will be a good test of that just [209:47] let us know when you see the comparison [209:48] what you think of it for like regular [209:50] street cars okay [209:53] uh planetary 13 five dollars please [209:55] review an SVT Focus or an old manual [209:57] Audi S car we have an Audi [210:01] RS4 the one with the V8 that rubbed out [210:04] that has been offered to us so just [210:06] about time getting out to do it okay [210:08] yeah that's VT focus and I think [210:10] somebody said has VT Contour which I [210:11] drove both those and I mean it'd be an [210:14] interesting video I think it'd just be [210:15] hard to find one that wasn't totally [210:16] [ __ ] up yeah trashed thanks Big Big D [210:20] for the super sticker we got 20 bucks [210:23] from Big D thank you sir uh two dollars [210:26] CA TLX type best or g70 didn't we do [210:30] that [210:30] I think we did but we're gonna answer it [210:32] again I'll change my answer this time [210:34] just to make everybody happy b-58 tlr [210:39] yeah that type S is a great car if [210:41] you're not really driving crazy and you [210:43] don't want like rear-wheel drive [210:44] Dynamics g70 has a rear wheel drive [210:47] Dynamics yeah I think the engine is [210:48] better better but you have to deal with [210:49] the Hyundai Kia dealer yeah sure [210:52] uh did you pay over MSRP on the Z06 if [210:55] you did I'm sorry if you didn't [210:57] congratulations Brent Owen for 4.99 I [210:59] did not next question [211:02] keep up the black conservative Patriot [211:05] for twenty dollars keep up the great [211:07] work I really enjoy your reviews and I [211:09] really like the breakdown for 2022 very [211:11] informative and entertaining thanks man [211:12] I appreciate it and thank you for the [211:13] twenty dollars thank you thoughts on the [211:16] ct5 V series non-blackwing I haven't [211:19] driven it and thank you for the five [211:20] dollars I'll ask for it I just don't [211:22] think they particularly care about the [211:23] car so they're not in the fleet I think [211:25] it I think people would watch it because [211:27] nobody talks about it oh well yeah let's [211:28] see if we can get it why not how I mean [211:30] it's not going to be a horrible [211:32] experience a TL pay for 2.99 thanks [211:34] again man uh certain perf I can't even [211:38] say it perfect rate certain perfect rate [211:40] it's all one word you know I can't read [211:43] a dollar for every time I've watched the [211:45] Pacifica review now if I could only [211:48] convince my wife's boyfriend to buy one [211:50] for our family it's gonna be a tough [211:51] sell but I think you can do some arm [211:53] twisting do you have any leverage I mean [211:56] that's the thing do you have leverage [211:57] over your wife's boyfriend yes and do [212:00] you have kids because if you have kids [212:02] you can really really you could really [212:04] leverage that yeah so things might be [212:06] looking up for you [212:08] uh DSC thank you for the five dollars [212:10] here for the five dollars we have uh DSC [212:13] again for two two well ten dollars here [212:16] I have a first gen 2015 X1 35i and [212:19] nobody gives a [ __ ] [212:23] could I get some validation yeah [212:26] yeah so hey we're doing an X1 soon [212:28] you'll get all the validation I will I [212:31] will mention DSC by name where is X1 [212:33] it's a BMW no I mean when are we getting [212:35] a couple weeks oh I didn't know that [212:37] you're gonna get some validation of that [212:38] video I'll be like DSC uh I think you [212:41] know what I will start the video [212:42] mentioning you DSC is finally getting [212:44] the validation oh but it's 2015. we [212:46] don't care about that no but we only [212:48] care about new product man sorry sorry [212:50] DSC uh [212:52] it's a BMW it's got the badge do the the [212:55] do the anniversary badges with the blue [212:56] in it change that out then you'll get [212:58] validation [212:59] uh j99 why isn't Mark wiping his head [213:03] oil and looking at it on his fingers who [213:05] are you I think it's because I'm in a [213:07] different mindset today I reduce my oil [213:10] intake and my minoxidil uh so I'm not as [213:15] oily Jay thanks for the ten dollars [213:17] thank you thanks for making fun of me [213:19] that really hurts and with that I will [213:22] answer a couple more questions because [213:23] we're back to the beginning okay oh man [213:26] we got a lot of questions holy [ __ ] I [213:29] did all let me go to the bottom because [213:31] I think there might be a couple more uh [213:33] paid ones that I [213:38] you're not going to get your question [213:40] answered uh thanks for the great content [213:42] what would you guys like to see in a [213:44] potentially revamped 2023 Forerunner uh [213:48] we just did a Tacoma TRD Pro video I [213:50] Revisited the first car I ever did a [213:51] video on and that was a disaster if you [213:53] want a good laugh go watch that video [213:54] but what I want out of the Forerunner is [213:58] I want it to be more of the same but [214:00] with a I mean I don't know Toyota's in [214:03] that rough spot where I'll say what I [214:05] said in the video they want to bring [214:07] along old customers who bought their [214:08] cars that were reliable and simple but [214:11] they need them to compete against [214:13] vehicles that are now objectively better [214:14] and I don't know how they do that for [214:16] the Forerunner because they're going to [214:18] either when they redo it it'll either be [214:20] a turbocharged four-cylinder which is [214:22] probably what it's going to be or it'll [214:24] be basically the Sequoia but smaller and [214:26] I'm the Sequoia wasn't very good and [214:28] that's my fear [214:31] uh kg for five dollars from one soy chai [214:34] latte connoisseur to another thanks for [214:36] the content uh fellas don't spill any on [214:39] my 1099 a month seat heaters yeah that [214:42] would be I wonder what would happen if [214:44] you broke the seed heaters with like a [214:45] soy lattean hey could you argue that [214:47] your subscription isn't worthwhile [214:49] anymore and get your money back oh man [214:52] it's uh the tiny pyramid for two dollars [214:54] it's too bad about the Chevy ligma I [214:57] don't know anything about the Chevy [214:58] ligma [214:59] loot for ten dollars any chance of a [215:02] retrospective series for a German brand [215:05] I love to see one on golfs I know Mark [215:07] is a Honda fanboy [215:09] if any brand isn't let us do a [215:11] retrospective series it's going to be [215:13] Porsche I would love to do one on the [215:15] 911 but they don't actually have a [215:17] museum Fleet here in the U.S I can ask [215:19] I'd love to do one on 911 or or uh yeah [215:23] I think that's when I even mentioned it [215:25] in the CRX video is like taking an [215:27] account like you can't talk about the [215:28] CRX without talking about the old golfs [215:30] in some cases even though we're very [215:32] focused on the CRX the golf is also a [215:35] special car of that era because it's [215:36] like like the car just spins itself you [215:40] know it's hilarious and I think it's [215:42] worth trying to get one but I just don't [215:43] want to get a like a horribly shitty one [215:45] you know it's got to be almost original [215:47] like Scott's car with very minimal work [215:50] done possible to find for someone who [215:51] lets you drive it especially out here uh [215:53] we don't live in California thank you [215:54] for the ten dollars uh I have a Dodge [215:56] Durango with 100 000 miles on it keep it [215:59] going keep going with it and wait for [216:01] EVS in five years or buy another gas [216:02] card [216:04] personally I was just buy another gas [216:05] card and yes I have kids and grabbed all [216:07] my Suburban nightmare yeah a lot of [216:09] people that I I know that had the during [216:12] I don't know what mile what year the [216:13] Durango is but a lot of the older ones [216:15] honestly were really really reliable [216:17] despite them rotting out looking like [216:19] [ __ ] yeah people like oh God that [216:22] thing's gonna hit me but they're they [216:23] were pretty easy to work on and modular [216:25] and they were Fairly reliable I mean [216:28] they're not my favorite thing on the [216:29] planet I'm sure it's not yours it just [216:31] depends on how much you want to blow to [216:32] replace it you know if you're spending [216:34] forty thousand dollars to get another [216:36] hauler you know honestly in the modern [216:38] car thing like if you need to get [216:41] another car yeah if that hundred [216:43] thousand mile Durango is messed up and [216:45] you're gonna put like ten thousand [216:47] dollars to get it fixed to put it into a [216:49] new car if it if it's gonna cost you a [216:51] couple Grand a year to keep it going I [216:53] think until things evolve out a little [216:56] bit more I buy another Gasser yeah [216:57] exactly I think that's about everything [217:00] right I think we covered everything [217:01] what's this last one yeah that's him so [217:04] unbelievably I think we got through a [217:06] majority of everything and if we like we [217:09] always say in all of our live streams if [217:10] there's a burning question you have for [217:12] mercury and patreons I will go back and [217:15] make sure all of the patreon questions [217:16] are answered [217:18] um [217:19] DM us on Instagram [217:22] um you can find me on Instagram or Mark [217:24] and we will do our best to answer those [217:26] questions purely because Mark [217:28] it just hates you guys he's less likely [217:31] to respond on Instagram than I am I I [217:33] honestly I I'm on Instagram and it's [217:35] purely like nonsense I I mean I really [217:38] don't do my best to get back to you guys [217:40] if you uh DM me on this Jack is [217:42] definitely more uh connected on there [217:43] because he likes to show off all his [217:45] Corvette pictures [217:47] this guy man he's like oh man look at [217:50] this girl who likes and I'm like 10-1 [217:51] that's not a girl don't worry no no girl [217:53] likes Corvettes they like type R's [217:56] um and John Z and everyone else that are [217:59] our personal friends that are in the [218:01] chat right now thank you again for [218:03] spending time with us we finally met [218:04] Sean Keely in person that guy [218:07] it's got quite the jawline yeah there's [218:09] a lot of people that we meet traveling [218:11] like Jack [218:12] um we had these three trips that are [218:14] coming up and I'm like I can't like I [218:16] can't physically go on three weeks worth [218:17] of travel and then come back and have to [218:19] try to [ __ ] out videos you know and edit [218:21] this stuff and do a good job so I can [218:23] only travel once in a while and a lot of [218:25] times it's it sucks because we travel on [218:28] these trips and they have to like be [218:29] social and meet all these people that we [218:30] really like and then you have to do all [218:32] this work it's like I would rather just [218:34] travel just to talk to people but not [218:35] actually drive the cars sometimes [218:38] um so guys thank you for those who [218:40] actually sat through this horribly long [218:42] live stream yeah and Jack has like an [218:44] hour and a half commute back or not an [218:45] hour and a half like an hour commute [218:47] back home and he's up late and he's [218:48] really this guy's mark this guy's heart [218:51] is in it wait oh we gotta watch that [218:54] dude's uh Sam Hyde video all right thank [218:57] you all for uh for doing this yeah I [219:00] really appreciate your time and we're [219:02] gonna try to do one of these once a [219:03] month now that I'm all set up uh also [219:05] last thing before we go [219:07] um just out of curiosity what was the [219:10] live stream like this time in terms of [219:13] Quality quality interface like sound all [219:17] of that I'm hoping this was probably the [219:19] best one yet or am I just selling it to [219:21] you to tell me that what was your real [219:23] experience [219:25] I'm just saying good night because they [219:26] hate you no they don't leave yet look [219:28] there's more to cover here you got work [219:30] to do for me [219:32] because people just don't think their [219:33] job's done with because we're done [219:35] I'm not done [219:38] did I tell you about my Corvette enough [219:40] I needed to talk to you more about my [219:41] Corva [219:43] okay good it's like it's like [219:46] everything's positive about it so [219:48] now I gotta spend thirty dollars a month [219:50] for another subscription Jack to pay for [219:53] a live streaming service so there's no [219:55] way I'm gonna make my money back with [219:57] all these super stickers I should give [219:59] myself a super sticker so I feel like [220:01] I'm a special man [220:02] uh is there anything else you want to [220:04] say because I turned off my mic okay [220:06] Jack Jack's leaving uh thank you Jack [220:09] here let's Pan the camera over we'll [220:11] give them behind the scenes of my sh my [220:14] horrible space that I have in here now [220:17] let me put my auto focus on okay so this [220:21] is I don't want to pull this out of here [220:23] goodbye everybody bye Jack see ya good [220:27] luck to you and your family [220:29] all right so this is it this is my [220:31] office this is the desk I'm going to do [220:33] for color correction which the monitor [220:34] won't be there uh I have speakers to [220:38] mount and then we flip over here [220:40] there's my trophy case okay that's [220:42] really important to me [220:45] okay [220:46] so what we have here [220:48] these sunglasses were gifted to me [220:51] from the Honda Civic dealership they [220:54] only sell Honda Civics and they they [220:55] told me I'm a VIP and I'm gonna get [220:57] these for free and I autographed my own [220:59] sunglasses and I'm gonna wear them every [221:02] time I drive my Civic [221:03] okay the next one is all my trophies [221:06] I'm a winner and oh there's an old Civic [221:09] Type R we never got in the US and I [221:10] never drove this so I put in my case and [221:13] then this is an F1 car this is Lewis [221:15] Hamilton he's won a couple F1 [221:17] championships uh this is when the car [221:20] had a V8 in it by the way not some uh [221:22] horrible sounding six cylinder so I I [221:25] put that in there and remember the [221:27] Golden Era of one things were great so [221:29] that's the tour of my trophy case uh and [221:32] then we have more stuff over here which [221:34] I can't pan all the way this is my other [221:36] desk this is where I do regular editing [221:38] because I have an ultra wide and look at [221:41] the focus it's hunting anyway that's [221:43] everything in my office thanks for the [221:45] tour guys [221:46] um if you guys like this I suggest you [221:49] you hit that thumb there's a thumb on [221:51] there that you can hit I just hit the [221:53] zebra button there's a thumb that's [221:55] thumbs up and then people will like me [221:57] and I'll have a lot of friends on the [222:00] internet so I wish everybody the best [222:03] day possible and thanks for staying up [222:05] so late with us [222:06] and bless you [222:09] and goodbye [222:11] and uh I don't have anything else funny [222:14] to say or not actually that none of that [222:16] was funny [222:17] thank you again [222:23] and I really needed to put an outro [222:24] thing here [222:26] I'll do disconnect this thing now [222:32] hmm [222:34] ah there it is goodbye [222:38] forever
