[1:23] Let's first see what happens when Alice [1:25] is logged in. She strolls up to the [1:27] profile and edit pages and the bouncer [1:29] cheerfully waves her in. Everything [1:31] works smoothly. The homepage still open [1:34] to everyone as usual. Now, let's switch [1:36] things up and imagine Alice is not [1:38] logged in. She walks up to the same [1:40] pages and this time the bouncer politely [1:42] stops her saying, "Nope, not today." The [1:45] homepage of course remains accessible. [1:47] No one ever gets blocked there. The best [1:49] part, whether Alice is logged in or not, [1:52] you don't have to write repetitive [1:53] checks inside each page. One decorator, [1:56] one rule, and it works everywhere. [1:58] Decorators are like magical little [1:59] helpers. They let you sprinkle extra [2:01] behavior like logging, timing, [2:03] authentication, or caching on your [2:06] functions without ever touching the main [2:07] code.
