## Transcript

I've been debating for like a month that this topic is worth making a whole video covering, and I'm still not convinced that it is, which is why I'm not just going to focus on that one central thing. I'm going to spread my tentacles like Squidward here and put my fingers in a lot of different pies
and just kind of rant and ramble and rave about a couple different things, just start, you know, shitting, spitting, squirting, whatever, on a bunch of different topics. but the main one is a question that gets asked more often than got milk.
It's a question that I see like at least 50 times per stream anytime I go live, and it is, why did I stop streaming on YouTube? And you see, DarmanFam, the fascinating thing about that riddle
is that I never stopped streaming on YouTube. I still multi-stream Twitch and YouTube. I've been doing that for a long time now. the confusion comes from the fact that I don't stream on this channel
any longer I now do all of my YouTube streaming on the Moist Critical Gaming channel and that's because all my streams are gaming I literally only stream gaming now except for like the very rare instances
where I just have an insatiable appetite an itch that has to be scratched for body cams and then I'll do some like body cams or go over some, like, wacky topics or something, but that's very rare.
It is almost exclusively gaming now, so I do all of it on the gaming channel, because that just makes the most sense. So, I didn't stop streaming on YouTube. I still multi-stream. It's just, I don't really do it here anymore, because I do all of the gaming over there,
so it makes sense to do all of the gaming streams there, too, instead of, like, break it up. So, like, there's not a whole lot more thought that went into it than that. It just felt pretty natural to do that, to keep everything in one centralized location for gaming.
Though, on that topic, I've been thinking more and more about going back to doing those highlight videos that I used to make for the longest time on this channel, where, you know, the games that I'd stream, I'd edit them into, like, you know, shorter videos of, you know, some of the best moments that were really silly
or super fun, that kind of thing, because I haven't been doing that, basically, at all since starting the gaming channel. I've been doing more gaming now than ever. Like, last year I had to have played, like,
fucking 500 games start to finish, and this year it's been even more. Like, I've been playing actually everything, even the most, like, cum-dumster, bottom-of-the-barrel-type garbage you've never heard of
I have been sinking my teeth into, more so now than ever. So, like, I've been thinking about, like, maybe doing more of those edited highlights for here, especially because I've been doing a lot of franchise marathons as well. Like, I recently played through every Grand Theft Auto.
I played through every single Resident Evil game ever made, which was fucking 30 of them. They're an amazing franchise. And almost all bangers, there's, it's mostly hits and only a few shits there. I also played through all the Sly Cooper games, all the Gears of War games, all the Halo games.
And I want to play through every Lord of the Rings game. I'm going to do a Silent Hill marathon pretty soon. And, like, I've been doing a lot of these, like, big marathons, so I've been thinking it might be cool to do, like, edited highlights of all of that as well to put here. But I haven't fully decided on it.
But, yeah, all the streaming I do now is basically gaming until I do it all over on the Moist Critical Gaming channel. It's just, that makes sense to me. But I, of course, still do multi-stream Twitch and YouTube.
That's not changing. I still think that is just the optimal way of streaming. I've said that for a while now. There's no reason at all not to just multi-stream to fucking every platform that has the capability to do so.
Like, you're just doing yourself a disservice, locking yourself down to one platform with no contract and nothing but, you know, the promise of an over-the-pants handjob for the loyalty. There's no real reason to exclusively stream somewhere without a contract.
So I still think multi is the right way to do things Let viewers choose the platform for their favorite viewing experience There pros and cons to all of them So yeah I didn stop doing that
I do still stream on YouTube just not here. I do it over there Now like I said, I didn't want to just make this whole video revolving around that topic So let's move on to a different one addressing the elephant in the room Or rather the elephant that left the room my background what happened to all of that shit behind me
Did a burglar come in and steal it? Vanish it to the fuckhole somewhere? Like, where did it go? I moved it myself. And by that I mean, I had my friends help me move it. It's heavy as fuck.
Especially the CRTD. That thing must have weighed 10,000 pounds. I look like me old near there. Point is, I moved it because I'm setting up a different room for retro gaming. I've mentioned this in a video before.
Nick, our engineer friend, has been hard at work on the lab on a black box console that we thought would be a really cool idea, which is basically an all-in-one device that can play any game from its physical cartridge or disc.
So I can utilize my physical media collection that I've been rebuilding so that I can take these physical games, pop those bitches into the black box, and just instantly start playing them and streaming them. And it's just fundamentally a codenamed kids-next-door gadget
for, you know, the ultimate gaming experience. and we are trying to make it look like a code name kids next door gadget, you're just showing me a cool thing you've been doing with like a toaster but not like the Nintoster
like the Nintendo toaster that I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with, like AVGM this is like a thinking man's toaster, this is a toaster that fucks so it's a different spin on a classic, also he's designed his own like
launcher for it and it's all themed around like old school retro hacker man's aesthetic where it's just the hub that'll you know, be receiving all the physical games and dumping them and stuff like that before launching them.
The whole thing has been, like, a really cool project, and it's going to take, like, a whole dedicated system and quite a bit of space, so I'm going to dedicate a whole room to retro gaming, and I thought it'd be cool to take everything that was behind me and start outfitting that room with that.
However, I've been really getting into pinball, as some of you may know. So I've got two pinball machines now, and I thought it'd be cool to put them in that room because they fit the theme. Pinball machines are huge.
So they're taking up almost all the space, and now everything that I move from here, I'm having a hard time fitting into that room. So now they're kind of lost in a limbo, and I'm still figuring out what to do with them. I don't really feel like moving them back here now.
I've already made my bed, so time to lie in it. I'm going to still be building out that retro game room, and then maybe I'll do something else with those somewhere for maybe like card openings or something.
I'll find another cool purpose for that and then I'll find some other stuff to put behind me. But yeah, to solve the mystery of where it all went, it was to decorate my retro gaming space,
which it will no longer be decorating it there because of how dreadfully addicted I have become to pinball. Also an update on pinball. My Pokemon pinball machine?
I did brick it. I locked myself out of it by downloading the wrong game code, so there's no amount of tinkering that could fix it, so now I've had to get a new board. So I've got to swap out the old board for the new board
because I am fully bricked. So, shout out to Stern Pinball for being willing to send me a new board after I just catastrophically ruined that one. So, I'll have that back online soon,
which, you know, I'll put some more pinball content up on the gaming channel. But yeah, that was kind of like a few different topics all wrapped up into one. This was a planned move with these, you know, displays behind me.
You will see them again They will return in Avengers Doomsday I just not sure exactly where or what they going to look like And now here one that no one has ever asked me about ever and probably never would but I want to talk about it
anyway. Sony Vegas. Many of you know this. I'll show you my whole editing process, what it looks like. I am one of the last 10 souls on the planet that still use Sony Vegas to edit videos, or as it's known now, Vegas Pro, because they're owned by a company called Magix. And I was just
talking about this today. I have recently been shooting on Vegas with Adobe Premiere. Not that anyone gives a fuck, but yeah, I have been a bit unfaithful recently, and let
me explain why. Because I've been doing so much gaming and a lot of it's been off-stream, editing those videos, they're like hour and a half, two hour, three hour videos sometimes, in shorty Vegas, the way it works is when you render something, the length of the video
is the time of the render. So if I, like this video, what is it now, like eight minutes, nine minutes, ten minutes, I don't even know how long I've been rambling, but this video, when I edit it, the render time will take as long as this video has been, which is like
ten minutes. That sucks major ass when you're doing long videos, like those gaming ones. So every time I've been rendering those gaming videos, if they're like three hours, this
computer now just gets completely off limits for three hours while it renders, because when it's rendering, everything runs slow. I can't really play games. It's very resource-intensive.
Vegas Pro is some archaic technology that is held together by toothpicks, bubblegum, and broken dreams, man. Like, this is the shit cavemen used to edit on. Like, they were probably using Vegas a hundred years ago,
and they said, damn, this shit is slow. It's probably faster for us just to trim the film ourselves and tape it back together. like this like I recognize how obsolete Vegas Pro is and they don't do anything to update it they
don't do anything to give it any tender love and care so it can actually be more than just a joke that it's been reduced to this used to be the gold standard the juggernaut in the editing space back with like Sony Vegas 7 all the way up until like 2016 really and then they just stopped caring
I've talked about this before I don't know how many of you know this probably none of you because There's no forsaken specimen on this planet really using Vegas Pro except for masochists like me.
But a couple years ago, Vegas Pro rolled out a new version, as they often do. And there's very little changes from version to version. So like Vegas 21 is what I'm using now, but there's almost no discernible difference from Vegas 21 to 20.
But when they did roll out a new version, what happened is it actually destroyed the previous version, making it inaccessible. And I mean that genuinely. So there was a problem, and I looked online.
It wasn't just me. This was a real thing that was happening to more than just me, where if you tried to launch the older version of Vegas, it wouldn't open. It would go through the startup and instantly crash immediately.
No error message, no nothing. It would just instantly crash as if you never opened it in the first place. and it stayed that way, and to my knowledge, it's still that way, but I was too lazy to upgrade. I
was too lazy to get the newest version, so I instead found a workaround. I recognized that the reason it was crashing is because it kept trying to go through, like, its newsletter. When you open Vegas, it sometimes will give you, like, an update on, like, the newest thing happening
with Vegas Pro, and the old version wanted to do that, pushing to the new version, but in doing so, it completely destroyed whatever makes Vegas work, and it would just crash. So, my solution
was, I unplugged the Ethernet cable, launched Vegas, and then plugged it back in, because as long as I wasn't connected to the Internet in any fashion, it would open. That was the workaround until I eventually got tired of having to plug and unplug my Ethernet cord and I just upgraded to the most recent version But they never fixed that That was never fixed It to my knowledge
has never been fixed. That is how little people use this software. That even one that is actually broken, a version that is broken, non-functional, doesn't even bother to get fixed. It's fucking
diabolical. So, like, I know Vegas Pro isn't good, but it is just so quick and easy, and I've used it for almost two decades now. It has just been something that I've been adamant about
not bothering to switch from. But man, when it comes to like longer videos, bro, it is just useless. Completely useless. So yeah, I've been recently tinkering with Premiere.
It is just better. In Premiere, a three hour video renders in 12 minutes. So like, it's It's night and day. It cannot be overstated just how much better it is to use modern editing software compared to what I do usually use to edit.
So all of this to say, I'm sorry Vegas, but holy shit, can you please get it together? Make this program better. I don't want to switch. I want to stay with you from womb to the tomb, but you make it impossible.
when all of the other competitors, and it's not even a competition. You're not even in the game. You're not even in the conversation. People don't even know you exist anymore. Like, everything else out there is better. Just genuinely better. Free software is better.
Vegas Pro is fucking over $100. You're charging money for dog shit, bro. Like, come on. It's... That being said, I'm still editing this video here on Vegas.
It's going to take me fucking 20 minutes to render it because now I've been rambling for a while now because I'm passionately talking about Vegas Pro here, Sony Vegas, or excuse me, Magix Vegas Pro. It's just...
I've unfortunately kind of seen the light with things like Premiere, and I know what can exist, so it's so hard for me to go back to Vegas actively, knowing that I could just have all of this much more efficiently done in Premiere
if I could just be willing to finally just put the nail in the coffin of this fucking program, man. but I can't bring myself to do it. I can't. So yeah, I will continue to edit with Vegas until it eventually just becomes too much to bear
but I at least wanted to put this out there into the world, man. Get your shit together, Magix. Like, come on, just do something. Like, I've been more than willing to ride or die for your trash for over a decade now where you've just been reduced to
like the absolute lowest dregs imaginable but this is just, it's becoming too much. It's just becoming way too much. I think they're on Vegas Pro 23, and I contemplated getting that, but I then looked into, like, the people that were talking about the most recent Vegases, and they're saying that still nothing has changed. Like, there's still no real big improvement anywhere in the program, so why am I going to spend more money to upgrade it, man? Why would I do that?
like I'm still on 21, let me double check actually here, I could edit this out, but I'm not going to, I think Vegas Pro is on 23, I think that's their most recent one, yeah, it looks like 23 is the
most recent one, and in fact, when you type in Vegas Pro 23, I shit you not, look at this, the, one of the first things that comes up, it's the second thing on the page on Google, don't bother with Vegas Pro 23, it's literally the second thing here, bro, it's such a joke,
though I did realize I misspelled Vegas, let's see if that changes it much better, then it gets rid of it thank heavens, their SEO is cooking this is a little look at what Vegas looks like that's what I'm editing right now
so yeah, all this to say, Vegas sucks I'm still using it, but yeah I have been recently having affairs with Adobe Premiere because it's just so much fucking better, man
anyway, that's really about it so yeah
