And welcome to a world [1:05] podcast episode number 66. 66 [1:09] and we are on route to another fantastic [1:13] podcast, ladies and gentlemen. We're on [1:15] route to 69. [1:17] Oh well, I mean now you mention it. [1:19] I haven't got a birthday for like [1:21] another 9 months or something. What are [1:22] you What are you talking about? Welcome [1:24] everyone. Hi, how are we doing? Oh, [1:26] we've got We've got stream session going [1:29] on here. Hi, how are we all? How are [1:32] things? Welcome to the chat people who [1:34] are in chat. I can't see the chat. [1:35] What's going on? Why can't I see the [1:37] chat? Oh, there it is. Okay, excellent. [1:39] Um [1:39] >> are here on a Wednesday, bit out of [1:42] character for us. Uh Unexpected, isn't [1:45] it? If you don't follow us on socials, [1:46] you'd never have known. You don't have [1:48] alerts on for We were 3 minutes late, [1:51] but technically we were almost 24 hours [1:54] early. We were 23 hours and 57 minutes [1:58] early is what we were doing. That was a [2:00] Good joke. I really like that. Thank [2:01] you. That was nice. Welcome. Oh, I It's [2:03] going to be a good show, I can tell you. [2:05] And I know it's going to be a good show [2:06] because we've got some amazing things to [2:09] talk about. [2:10] >> god. There is going to be [2:11] >> Yes, we are. Well, pretty much for most [2:13] of this episode, although not right now, [2:15] there is going to I like I'm just going [2:16] to be wearing this on my shoulder. Oh, [2:19] he's dead. [2:21] He can't be dead. [2:22] >> There's another one behind you. Don't [2:24] Don't worry, Evitel, cuz even though [2:25] he's dead, I've got a feeling he might [2:27] come back. [2:29] I I think he might come back. Oh, [2:31] because we're going to be talking raid [2:33] spoilers, cinematic spoilers from the uh [2:37] the March of the Kaldorei cinematic [2:39] and I'm I'm currently writing a [2:41] cinematic analysis of it. I I'm toying [2:45] with calling the cinematic analysis the [2:47] dumbest [ __ ] I've ever seen in my life. [2:49] >> [laughter] [2:50] >> Uh but I don't know. I'm looking forward [2:52] cuz I'm I'm thinking about this way too [2:53] much. I'm looking forward to hearing [2:54] people talk about it in chat. I'm [2:55] looking forward to hearing Evitel's uh [2:57] opinions on it as well. [2:59] I mean, I think that sums it up pretty [3:01] splendidly. Yeah. Uh but not just that, [3:03] of course, because it's April Fools' DAY [3:05] AS WELL. DO you know how I know it's [3:06] April Fools' Day? Do you know how I know [3:08] it's April Fools' Day? How do you know? [3:10] Cuz I opened my [ __ ] vault. And I [3:12] looked inside that and I was like, "Now [3:14] I remember." That's the only good April [3:16] Fools' joke I've heard today. That's [3:19] literally the only It just Every year I [3:21] don't know Is it because I'm old? Like [3:23] every year it just gets worse and worse. [3:25] There was a sweet spot where I would [3:27] kind of like willingly fall for things [3:29] and it felt good, but now I'm just like [3:32] >> [laughter] [3:33] >> All right. I You know, I'm just shaking [3:35] my head and everything. Oh, I'm sorry. [3:36] Look, I I remember seeing that [3:39] a couple of days ago or something. I saw [3:41] Mr. GM tweet that, you know, his his [3:45] planned April Fools' joke was evil. Oh, [3:49] wow. [3:49] >> Yeah. Uh so I want I I I haven't noticed [3:52] it. I haven't seen it online, so [3:54] hopefully it was. Of course, April [3:55] Fools' Day is over now. All your jokes [3:57] have to be done before midday and we are [3:58] well after midday. It's here. Americans [4:00] are just waking up. Oh, yeah, I guess [4:02] so. [4:03] >> of foolishness ahead of them. [4:05] Do you think people thought we were [4:07] joking about doing our podcast today [4:08] early? It's incredibly possible. [4:11] >> we're doing our podcast daily [4:12] nothing to do with World of Warcraft, [4:14] nothing to do with the podcast, I'm [4:15] afraid. It's not because it's like, "Oh, [4:16] they want to talk about the cinematic or [4:18] anything like that." No. No. Um it's [4:20] because I'm going to see the Super Mario [4:21] movie with my son tomorrow. [4:24] Uh at normal podcast time. He's going [4:26] for a friend's birthday. The friend's [4:27] dad invited me to come along and [4:29] basically help him look after the kids. [4:31] And I was like, "Yes, please." [4:33] >> Imagine going to see the new Super Mario [4:35] movie with your buddies. Yeah. Like, you [4:37] know, [4:38] >> god, you're 6 years old. Super Mario [4:40] Galaxy movie has just come out. It's [4:42] school holidays. It's your friend's [4:44] birthday. You're going to go You're [4:46] going to go with your dad who you love [4:48] and all of your buds and you're going to [4:50] go watch some Mario Oh, yeah. [4:54] going to eat some snacks. I hadn't [4:55] thought of it that way. This is going to [4:57] be like one of the best moments of his [4:58] entire little life so far, isn't it? [5:00] He's He's going to be so He's going to [5:01] be so excited. I hope he realizes how [5:03] how lucky he is and how life will never [5:05] be as good. I know. [5:07] >> [laughter] [5:07] >> Even when he can go to the pub, it won't [5:09] be quite as good. [5:10] >> Yeah. So for us it's just a Oh, we can't [5:12] do the podcast kind of thing, but for [5:14] him it's going to be a special day. It's [5:15] going to be a special day for Penny, [5:16] too, because I'm while that's happening, [5:19] I'm going to take her climbing. We're [5:21] going to go to Crazy Climb. [5:22] >> Oh, are you? Yeah, cuz it's right there. [5:23] Are you going to Are you going to climb [5:24] as well? [5:25] >> No, I'm going to watch her climb. No, [5:26] you should. I I took Annie to Crazy [5:27] Climb and I didn't climb and I regret [5:29] it. I really really regret it. I like I [5:31] wish I had climbed as well. So I'm just [5:33] I would bear that in mind if I was you [5:35] cuz it's really fun looking. It's really [5:37] cool. Anyway, this isn't irrelevant at [5:39] all. Guys, if you don't want us to talk [5:42] about the cinematic and I've done it [5:44] all, by the way. I I I came on this [5:46] morning, all right? I I came on. I saw [5:48] the cinematic last night [5:50] on my phone as I was putting my boy to [5:52] bed as usual. But and and then I woke up [5:57] this morning and I opened my vault and [6:00] you know, almost threw my [6:01] almost threw my PC out the window, if [6:02] I'm being completely honest. And then I [6:04] I did the intro scenario, which we'll [6:06] talk about as well, this week's kind of [6:08] campaign quest. And then I pugged it [6:11] normal. [6:13] And at the moment with the amount that [6:15] everyone is very geared because because, [6:18] you know, like there's just a lot of [6:19] gear around at the moment because of [6:20] Mythic Plus and stuff like that. [6:22] I feel like normal is is pretty much [6:24] story mode right now. You can go in. It [6:26] might take It's cuz two pulls on each [6:27] boss. [6:29] And we and we absolutely nailed it. Um [6:31] so so I could see the cinematic in [6:33] context and I could see like all the [6:34] dialogue and the quests and stuff like [6:36] that in context. And the new skybox as [6:39] well. [6:41] Spoilers. Spoilers, spoilers. But if you [6:43] don't want us to talk about any of that, [6:45] then well, you can't stop us, but [6:47] frankly, but you can get us to talk [6:47] about other stuff as well with a little [6:49] bit of money. Just send us a little bit [6:51] of your hard earned way and we'll talk [6:54] about whatever you want. How? How? Not [6:56] just in any way. In one specific way. [6:58] You put it in an envelope just like [6:59] Blizzard do and send it to us just like [7:02] Blizzard do with, you know, what you [7:04] want us to talk about just like Blizzard [7:05] do. Your favorite clone of perfume on [7:07] there like Ian does and then just uh [7:10] yeah. [7:12] Uh people in chat pointing out that [7:15] Annie, our son, is three expansions old [7:17] right now. Well, actually, he was born [7:19] in BFA. [7:20] He was born in BFA. So Shadowlands, [7:23] Dragonflight, War Within. This is his [7:25] fifth expansion. He was [7:30] >> [ __ ] weekly reset intro scenarios [7:34] uh like intro skits with me holding him [7:36] on camera and it's BFA. [7:39] Right, of course, cuz it was the Xy'era. [7:41] Yeah. Of course. [7:42] >> Yeah, the really famous story about how [7:44] we were raiding and you had to go into [7:46] labor and it was like a BFA raid. I [7:48] always associate This is terrible. I [7:51] always kind of associate him with [7:52] Shadowlands because I was pregnant like [7:56] heavily pregnant with him on stage for [7:59] BlizzCon when they were talking about [8:00] it. [8:01] >> Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, when the [8:01] Shadowlands was revealed, I guess. Yeah. [8:04] I was it was [8:05] Don't worry. [8:06] Okay. It was like a really [8:10] Uh it's towards the end of of BFA, I [8:12] guess. [8:13] Uh yeah, it was like a point three. But [8:15] anyway, [8:17] we killed the dragon. He was born. This [8:19] is now his fifth expansion. [8:21] Which is wild, really, when you think [8:23] about it. Absolutely crazy. Almost as [8:25] many expansions as he is years old. And [8:28] granted, like he's he's only a little [8:30] bit into midnight and he came at the end [8:32] of BFA. So like if we're doing full [8:34] expansions, [8:38] >> [laughter] [8:39] [clears throat] [8:41] >> So that must mean That must mean that [8:45] um that [8:46] Penny was born at the end of [8:46] Shadowlands surely. [8:49] I would Maybe I I might have to look [8:51] that one up. Yeah, yeah. The time works [8:53] differently during Shadowlands. Yeah, [8:55] who knows? Anyway, how do they make us [8:57] talk about something that isn't this [8:58] baby [ __ ] You can uh throw us a super [9:01] chat on YouTube uh if you're watching [9:04] over there. Yeah, drop us a super chat. [9:07] Uh let us know what you're thinking. Let [9:09] us know what you'd like us to talk [9:10] about. [9:11] Uh you know, let us just just give us [9:13] your thoughts. We are reading super [9:15] chats. Also on YouTube, [9:18] big news coming up this month. We are [9:21] going to mostly for your benefit, uh [9:24] live listeners, we're going to turn on [9:25] memberships. How exciting. I don't [9:28] understand what you're saying. [9:30] >> You don't have to understand because I [9:31] cuz I do it. So basically, we are going [9:34] to [9:35] uh we're going to turn on memberships on [9:36] YouTube, but like specifically so that [9:39] you guys can have badges in chat. Is [9:42] that Is that it? [9:42] >> Like literally [9:44] literally just like you guys are [9:45] >> mean, that's cool. I like badges. [9:46] They're fine. You guys get badges in [9:48] chat. Like we'll come up with other fun [9:49] things. Like particularly cuz we want to [9:51] do We want to do you folks, like the [9:53] live listeners and then everyone else [9:55] cuz we love everyone else, too. [9:57] Uh we want to give you guys a little [9:59] something special cuz we appreciate you. [10:01] And we are like I know that there's a [10:03] there's like a live listening audience. [10:04] There are people who just watch the main [10:07] videos. There are people who, because [10:09] I've looked at the analytics, watch [10:11] Oh, no, no, there are people who watch [10:13] our main videos and then unsubscribe [10:15] when we do a live podcast. [10:17] So, there you know, there there there [10:20] are lots of folks out here and we want [10:21] to we want to basically give you guys a [10:23] little something fun. Okay. That people [10:25] unsubscribe every video you put out. [10:27] And like any video we put out, people [10:29] unsubscribe. That's like That's how it [10:30] works. [10:31] >> but sometimes there are more subscribers [10:33] than un- Oh. [10:34] >> subscribers. [10:35] >> Right. Um and sometimes Hopefully [10:38] hopefully always. Well, that's the idea. [10:40] Well, with podcasts it's a slightly [10:42] different story. [10:43] >> Yeah. Uh but yeah, so we're going to be [10:46] uh we'll be doing that. But that will [10:48] come later this month. Uh in the [10:50] meantime, if you want to just drop us a [10:52] super chat to discuss, chit-chat, talk, [10:55] question, [10:57] uh let us know. Yeah. [10:59] >> That's That's what we are here for. [11:01] >> you just keep talking. I am. I'm Yeah. [11:03] Uh yeah, so uh today yeah, uh if you [11:08] would like to avoid spoilers, [11:12] um then probably that's not [11:15] >> keep talking. Come on, you're [11:16] professional. Go go go. [11:17] >> I am talking. I am talking. [11:20] Uh badges and custom emojis, yeah, [11:22] exactly. Basically, we want to replicate [11:24] all the good stuff that happens on [11:25] Twitch and give it to you here. Okay. [11:27] >> Um but yeah, so uh that is the plan. [11:32] Uh I so [11:33] regarding the cinematic, I have not yet [11:34] done the raid. [11:36] I did manage to do Void Spire yesterday. [11:38] >> Uh-huh. Uh with a guild, which is great. [11:42] Which is fantastic. [11:43] Did you You weren't in a very good mood [11:45] when you did it. I came up and you were [11:46] in a right state. [11:47] >> I was because because I was so excited [11:49] to finally do it and then I'm like, [11:50] "Dude, I am so geared. I'm like 255. [11:55] I'm like I'm on top of this. Like I've [11:57] got a couple of hero pieces. I'm [11:59] absolutely rolling." And um [12:02] and then I was like second to last DPS [12:04] the whole time. [12:05] >> Yeah. You don't read guides, do you? I [12:07] do Listen, listen, I I love you. You are [12:10] the love of my life. You're my favorite [12:11] person on earth. [12:12] But I've never met anyone so bad at [12:14] taking advice. You refuse to. And like [12:16] you take it you you refuse to take [12:18] advice in any situation. [12:19] >> advice. [12:20] >> you could you could be like [12:23] you could be like um [12:25] in a in a plane cockpit and like the [12:28] pilot has a heart attack and dies and [12:30] you're like, "Shit, I've got to land the [12:31] plane." And they're like, "Okay, we've [12:33] got a pilot on the line for you. He's [12:35] going to explain how to land the plane." [12:36] You'll be like, "DON'T TELL ME WHAT the [12:37] [ __ ] to do. Shut the [ __ ] up." You'd be [12:39] like you don't you you wouldn't actually [12:41] say shut the [ __ ] up. What you do is you [12:42] go very stoic and you'd be like, "Mhm. [12:45] Mhm. Mhm." And like the the guy the [12:47] pilot on on the phone would be like, [12:50] "This is how to land the plane. These [12:51] are the buttons to press." And you'd be [12:52] like, "Mhm. Mhm." But you wouldn't be [12:54] listening and you wouldn't do it. Cuz [12:56] you would refuse. You'd be like And [12:57] look, I I think that's something I love [12:58] about you because 99% of the time it [13:01] works out cuz you're very capable and [13:02] very lovely. [13:03] >> I am very capable. [13:04] >> I'm very clever. But 1% of the time [13:06] sometimes it doesn't. [13:07] >> [clears throat] [13:08] >> Yeah. You know? And and I I feel like [13:11] perhaps [13:12] reading a guide, because there are lots [13:14] even though the class is very simple [13:16] >> the time. [13:17] >> Okay, well, okay. [13:18] >> play I'm a hunter. I can't play without [13:20] a guide. [13:21] I watched [13:22] You know what it is? It's literally my [13:23] PC. It's like my cool [13:25] >> sounds are like Oh, we blaming the [13:26] tools? Is that what we're doing? Is that [13:28] how we're going to run this? [13:29] >> This is why I don't want to play World [13:31] of Warcraft anymore. [13:32] >> matter it doesn't matter how many times [13:33] I tell you to put your mouth closer to [13:34] the microphone so people don't complain [13:36] about the the like [13:38] >> then I won't look at you at all. [13:39] >> just doesn't matter. [13:40] You won't do it because that's just the [13:42] way we are. [13:43] >> Yeah, so it's [14:38] yeah, I know I [14:39] >> that, as is traditional on April the [14:42] 1st, we have had Blizzard drop a [14:45] hilarious [14:46] April the 1st post. Now, I'm assuming [14:48] it's hilarious cuz I haven't read it, [14:49] okay? But they're always hilarious. [14:51] They're little joke blue posts, right? [14:53] So, what we're going to do is, okay, [14:55] we're going to do a like, you know, try [14:58] and make Tally laugh session where you [15:01] read me the hilarious [15:04] April the 1st blue post and if I laugh, [15:07] I lose. [15:08] Oh, well. Well, [15:10] I've got news for you. I don't think [15:12] this one is a classic. [15:14] >> [laughter] [15:14] >> Oh, no, I lost. [15:18] Yeah, that was like a menacing laugh. [15:20] Like that [15:20] >> [laughter] [15:21] >> was quite funny. [15:22] Yeah, but like that's kind of laugh you [15:23] you make when you see someone you don't [15:24] like fall on their ass. [laughter] [15:27] Um I I don't think this one is going to [15:28] go down into like the annals of history. [15:30] But you know, that's I just skimmed it. [15:32] I skimmed it and my problem was that [15:34] that I was like, "Oh, yeah, that's a [15:36] good idea. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, [15:39] yeah. I'd like to implement that." [15:40] >> the feedback I'm getting, actually. [15:41] Yeah yeah [15:42] yeah. [15:42] >> actually [15:43] I I want I want that in a kind of a [15:45] serious way." Yeah, more than ever [15:47] before, people are like, "Actually, no, [15:49] yeah, that, please. That would be really [15:51] good." [15:51] >> Yeah. So, shall we shall we do a little [15:53] run down of the [15:54] of this? The only other time that's ever [15:55] happened was during Shadowlands where [15:57] the April the Fool they I'm I'm [15:59] surprised they did one during [16:00] Shadowlands. But the April the 1st Why [16:02] am I speaking about Shadowlands so much? [16:03] Who knows? Maybe it's on my mind. [16:05] >> know. [16:05] >> Um [16:06] the the April the 1st post they put out [16:08] was like, "Yeah, anything. [16:10] We'll take [ __ ] anything." [laughter] [16:13] That that [ __ ] April the 1st I Yeah, [16:15] we'll we'll take it. Let's Let's go. [16:16] Let's do it. [16:20] Um so uh here we go. Here is our [16:23] uh 2026 edition of the World of Warcraft [16:26] April Fools patch notes. Um [16:30] Dare I Oh, I'll start. [16:32] >> Should I Should I bring them up on [16:33] screen? [16:34] >> Yeah, I've got them I've got them up [16:35] here. [16:35] >> Okay, let me uh I've got to press a [16:36] button to make that happen. [16:38] >> the one and only Kybax. Who I [16:41] appreciate. You know what I mean? Make [16:42] the uh make the text a bit bigger so [16:43] people can see it better on the screen. [16:45] How's that? [16:46] >> pretty good. [16:48] Uh World of Warcraft patch 12.0.9. [16:52] >> [laughter] [16:53] >> Yeah. Sorry, did I lose? [16:54] >> Yeah. 9 minutes after midnight, working [16:56] title. [16:57] >> Quite funny. Production notes. This [16:59] patch is going to be a real [17:00] crowd-pleaser when we reveal it via a [17:01] series of elaborate videos. Please do [17:04] not forward this document to anyone. [17:06] Okay, that's quite funny. Okay. [17:08] >> Like cuz it's [clears throat] it's [17:08] making fun of like the way that they [17:10] reveal midnight. Yeah. Yeah, and like [17:12] the midnight kind of reveal the game. [17:14] So, it's making fun of that. And I like [17:15] the self-awareness. I think that's quite [17:17] Okay. Okay, I'm not laughing. [17:19] >> Yeah. But you're you're nodding. You're [17:20] nodding. [17:21] >> of foreplay. I'm enjoying it. Yeah, [17:23] totally. [17:24] Please do not forward this document to [17:25] anyone so that we can avoid leaks and [17:27] everyone can continue doing great work. [17:29] Remember what happened last time? It was [17:31] horrible. Maybe not as horrible as when [17:34] you get takeout and discover a missing [17:35] item only after you get home, but it was [17:37] bad. Maybe not as bad as when you drop [17:39] your phone and it lands on your foot at [17:41] what feels like terminal velocity, but [17:43] it was awful. Okay, thank you very much [17:45] for not leaking these notes. Has anyone [17:47] ever been upset when they drop their [17:48] phone on their foot? Surely what you [17:50] feel is relief cuz you're like, "Oh, [17:52] thank god it landed on my foot and not [17:55] and not on the hard concrete on which [17:57] I'm standing." It broke the little [17:58] delicate bones. Like yeah. [18:00] Break my foot 100 times over before you [18:02] break my phone, please. Yeah, [18:03] absolutely. Okay, right. I don't relate. [18:05] Sorry. Bad start. [18:09] >> point, new content for role players [18:11] only. [18:13] I mean Am I a joke to you? What? I know. [18:16] I was like, "Wait, actually Yes, please. [18:19] Although I have to say that midnight is [18:20] very good for role players so far with [18:22] housing and the Arcan tina and just [18:25] general like [18:27] I know all the different phases of [18:28] Silvermoon as you progress in the story. [18:29] It It makes it quite difficult for role [18:31] players cuz people are in different [18:32] phases and and and like at different [18:34] levels of the story and stuff like that. [18:35] But whatever. Who knows? Let's go. Okay, [18:37] wait. I I now that I'm reading this, [18:39] this is actually quite funny. Okay. [18:41] >> Well, I'll be the judge of that. [18:45] Uh large role play instances. In large [18:49] role play instances, you'll need to [18:51] meticulously plan to role play together [18:53] with up to two dozen other role players [18:55] as you join up to explore fantastic new [18:57] ideas, new areas filled with [18:59] opportunities for expression, non-player [19:01] characters that we're calling bosses, [19:04] but you're free to call them anything [19:05] you like. Each offer you a new and [19:08] carefully decorated stage area with [19:10] dialogue and narrative intentions of [19:13] their own. This patch includes over 50 [19:15] large role play instances for you to [19:18] discover with a big groups of your [19:19] co-stars. [19:21] Role play fighting. We've noticed that [19:24] role players appear to be missing a key [19:25] element of storytelling, fictional [19:27] violence. In role play fighting, you'll [19:30] finally have access to role play areas [19:32] we're calling battlegrounds and arenas [19:35] where you can incorporate low-stakes [19:37] pretend combat into your narratives. [19:39] Express yourselves in fictional [19:40] altercations with other role players. [19:42] And when the story results in your [19:43] character's death, don't worry. You [19:46] won't lose anything at all and you'll be [19:47] restored to that You can You'll be [19:49] restored so that you can return to your [19:51] role play session with only a brief [19:53] delay. [19:55] Do you have four co-stars that you [19:58] regularly role play with? [20:00] We have great It's the It's Yeah, I get [20:03] it. I get it. It's like it's a fun It's [20:05] a funny concept. It's funny in its [20:07] relentlessness. I like it. Um we have [20:10] great news for you. Over 120 new areas [20:12] for five performer role playing have [20:14] been added to wow. Befitting their size [20:17] and scope, smaller role play instances [20:19] include only about five stages and each [20:21] stage they're in includes a default [20:23] story for you to add your own narrative. [20:25] >> look, I appreciate I appreciate the [20:27] thinking behind this joke. I appreciate [20:29] the concept behind the joke. I don't [20:30] dislike the joke. What I will say is I'm [20:33] very worried that this is their opener. [20:36] Yeah, well. All right, like I feel like [20:38] that's a funny joke, but it's not an [20:39] opening joke. [20:41] I'm worried for the rest of it. Yeah. [20:43] Okay, no, that was funny. I like the [20:45] concept. Trick role players into going [20:47] into raids and dungeons. That's good. [20:48] That's good. That's excellent. Yeah. [20:50] New character customization, tails. [20:54] Players have been asking for years and [20:55] we're finally delivering. That's right. [20:57] Dwarfs can now have tails if they want [20:59] to. This is a purely optional [21:01] customization. Please let us know what [21:03] else you'd like to see added to the [21:04] customization options for the noble [21:06] dwarf race. [21:08] That one's good because it might make [21:09] people online angry. The good ones are [21:12] the ones that make people online angry. [21:13] Like [21:15] who was it? Was it Method or or Liquid [21:17] or [21:18] the other one, Echo, who put out one [21:20] today which was like a fake blue post of [21:23] Blizzard apologizing for banning weak [21:24] auras and saying they were bringing [21:26] back. [21:27] That's funny cuz people get angry and [21:29] like people get very passionate about [21:31] it. [21:32] Yeah, yeah. Anyway, sorry. Okay. New [21:34] dungeon mode, mythic plus plus plus. [21:37] Okay [laughter] [21:38] that gets a chuckle from me. That gets a [21:40] chuckle from me. Yeah. [21:42] Uh have you ever felt like you're [21:44] playing alongside someone who can't see? [21:46] In this new two-person dungeon mode, [21:48] you'll team up with a complete strangers [21:50] who is from a different faction that [21:52] you've never met before and you won't [21:53] even be able to talk to each other at [21:55] first. Try tapping out a code or giving [21:57] them a thumbs up. In mythic plus plus [22:00] plus, you and your partner can't share [22:01] the same air, but you can share in a [22:03] dungeon adventure together. Once you [22:05] trauma bond over your individually [22:07] devastating backstories, words of [22:09] encouragement. Hopefully, your new [22:11] partner will be incredibly good at [22:12] everything you're hilariously bad at [22:14] doing. Amaze amaze amaze. I kind of like [22:17] the like slightly dadaist absurd humor. [22:20] This this this [22:22] >> [laughter] [22:22] >> Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what [22:23] they're going for. It's like you just [22:24] don't you don't appreciate dadaist [22:26] absurd humor. [22:27] >> Yeah, like it's [22:28] like I like the tone of this and that [22:30] it's like just completely goofy ass [22:32] [ __ ] Like [22:34] >> [laughter] [22:35] >> I I appreciate it. New dungeon, city [22:38] boy. [22:40] I really don't want to read this, but [22:41] here we go. Okay, so this new dungeon [22:44] hits different. It's basically snatched [22:46] giving absolute chaos energy like so [22:48] delulu. Imagine pulling up with your [22:50] aura farming besties and the brain rot [22:52] is instantly out of pocket. The whole [22:54] place is low-key haunted, but also [22:56] high-key chopped with fire mobs that [22:59] straight up do not pass the vibe check [23:00] and bosses that are built different, no [23:03] cap. Stack properly or get deleted in 4K [23:05] and you're cooked like in your flop era [23:07] wipe maxing. [23:09] Big yikes. Overall, this one's looking [23:11] pretty goated, but everyone in your [23:13] squad will have to understand the [23:14] assignment so that you can say you ate [23:16] no crumbs. [23:18] I feel like they asked me to write that. [23:21] I feel like they were like [23:23] who's the oldest person [23:26] who works here? [23:28] Can you write like a young person? [23:31] Okay, so apparently the mythic plus plus [23:33] plus is a reference to Project Hail Mary [23:35] which everyone loves and has watched and [23:37] I have not yet seen. [23:38] >> Okay, great. Fantastic. [23:39] >> it. I missed the big I missed the big [23:40] jokes. Okay. Okay. It only just came out [23:43] in this country though. It's only been [23:45] out like a week. [23:46] You can't expect me to watch a movie in [23:48] the first week that it comes out. [23:51] That one that hurt [23:53] >> maxing? I thought you said wife maxing. [23:55] >> Oh, yeah, no, you've already got that [23:56] one, too. It's like [23:58] really hurt me to read that one out [24:00] loud. So, let me recover for a second. [24:02] >> Okay. Okay, hardcore housing. Veteran [24:06] World of Warcraft players will know the [24:07] game is at its best when you're on the [24:09] verge of being completely wiped out. [24:12] Now the time has come to put your entire [24:14] house on the line with hardcore housing. [24:17] Okay, I like this concept. In hardcore [24:19] In hardcore housing, you'll sign an [24:20] irrevocable contract that nobody fully [24:22] reads anyway committing to a mortgage, [24:24] insurance, and maintenance costs that [24:26] must be paid every month or you'll lose [24:28] it all. [24:29] >> I don't know if I I don't know if I can [24:30] listen to the rest of this. It's making [24:31] me anxious. [24:31] >> I know. Every month thereafter, you'll [24:33] experience the deep satisfaction that [24:34] can only come from the escaping utter [24:36] ruined utter ruined through something [24:38] close to sheer luck. Head to the [24:40] Undermine to get started on an adventure [24:42] that you'll be on for the rest of your [24:43] life and earn these unique rewards. A [24:46] one-time only grace period on your [24:47] monthly payments, a voucher for changing [24:49] your adjustable rate mortgage to a fixed [24:51] rate mortgage for a fee. Fixed rate is [24:53] non-negotiable non-transferable and [24:54] surprisingly surprisingly [24:56] non-deterministic. Voucher can only be [24:58] used in Undermine on the last day of the [24:59] month. A 20% buff to your house's fire [25:01] resistance, [25:03] a special item, the go bag, which holds [25:06] a few of your most beloved small pieces [25:07] of decor. That one also hurt me to read. [25:10] Yeah, [25:11] this isn't funny. Yeah, this isn't [25:13] making me laugh. This is making me cry. [25:15] This is reminding me of [25:18] everything I hate. [laughter] [25:20] I I like the concept of hardcore [25:22] housing. I thought it was going to be [25:23] funny, but no. No, it wasn't It was too [25:24] real. [25:25] >> No. Decor yourself. Feedback from [25:28] housing enthusiasts has been pouring in [25:30] and players unanimously want to [25:32] transform themselves into decor and see [25:34] what the world is like from the [25:35] perspective of a elegant almond table [25:37] >> That that is [25:39] Wait, that's unironically what's coming [25:41] next patch. [25:42] >> Now you can with decor yourself. [25:44] >> Well, no, [25:45] that's literally the new game play mode [25:46] next patch. [25:48] The decor yourself toy allows you to [25:50] transform into any piece of decor in [25:52] your collection. It preserves your [25:54] It's not an April Fools' joke. They're [25:55] literally they're doing it. But it [25:57] preserves your transmog. [25:59] But [26:04] What? Are they [26:06] Did no one go we can't do that in the [26:08] April Fools' post because it's an actual [26:10] thing we're doing? Wow. Wait. Wait. [26:13] Wait. What's the Oh, wait. Wait. [26:16] Wait, this one's really good. Okay, this [26:18] one's great. [26:21] >> [laughter] [26:22] >> With the previous patch and some [26:23] incredibly lucky late night hot fixing, [26:25] we're proud to announce that we reached [26:27] perfect balance across all classes in [26:29] our internal testing analysis facility, [26:31] which is a real thing that we will not [26:32] talk about any further. Thus, this patch [26:35] has no need for any class changes. We'd [26:37] like to take this opportunity to thank [26:38] everyone who provided the key points of [26:40] feedback we always needed to reach this [26:42] incredible milestone. You know who you [26:44] are. [26:45] Hunters, all damage and pet damage [26:47] decreased [laughter] by 5%. [26:53] >> [laughter] [26:53] >> It's It's always the class balance stuff [26:55] that makes me laugh. [26:57] Oh, THAT'S THE ONLY ONE? [26:58] >> [laughter] [27:02] >> OKAY, that's funny. [27:04] Man yeah. [27:05] Yeah, Randy's killing me. Okay. [27:08] New from the wow classic development [27:10] team. [27:11] Remember how it felt when an immersive [27:13] new kind of game play was first added to [27:15] World of Warcraft so long ago? [27:18] In those early days of the feature [27:19] before it was updated and expanded over [27:20] the months that followed, got to [27:22] experience their first steps into [27:24] something truly fresh. We on the classic [27:26] development team are excited to announce [27:28] that we're developing classic housing, a [27:30] return to the six weeks of housing [27:32] before it was forever changed by [27:34] Indefatigable experience. [laughter] [27:38] Yeah. That's funny. In classic [27:39] [laughter] housing, [27:41] you'll You'll return to a simpler time [27:42] with a slower pace. I actually miss that [27:44] time. Do you? Oh, do [27:48] And you'll rediscover friends in the [27:50] neighborhood that you probably haven't [27:51] seen making a change to their houses in [27:53] what feels like forever. It's true. I [27:54] never go back now. Coming summer 2039. [27:57] We're very busy. Wait, like look, [28:00] everything's front-loaded this season. [28:01] You're going to have a lot of time to go [28:03] back to housing. I promise. You're going [28:04] to have a a lot of time to go back. [28:07] Yeah. [28:08] Coming summer 2039. [28:11] >> [laughter] [28:12] >> Wow. This Okay, I would call I I I don't [28:17] know if I'd call this as like an April [28:19] Fools' post. I would call this a like a [28:22] a soul-crushing kind of like existential [28:26] like just slap in the face. I think they [28:28] pulled it back at the end there. I [28:29] thought it I thought it was good at the [28:30] end. I like that. [28:33] The guy from The Incredibles with like [28:34] his face burned out. Like I literally [28:38] reading this whole thing. [28:40] Yeah. The The mortgage thing hit too [28:41] hard. [28:42] >> thing hit hard [28:44] All of this All of this hit too hard. I [28:47] I [laughter] [28:48] I didn't like it. [28:49] Okay, [28:51] thank you. Thank god we don't have to do [28:53] that segment again for another year. [28:55] >> [laughter] [28:57] >> Man, that was a That was a That one was [29:00] was kind of dark. Um wait, actually [29:02] here. Let me show you what I look like. [29:03] Sorry, just cuz I said I look like the [29:05] dude from The Incredibles. [29:06] >> Everyone gets it, Evie. Everyone [29:07] understands the meme. No, no, no, no. [29:09] You need to understand. I need to [29:10] illustrate this for you for for the [29:12] people who are watching. So, yeah, so [29:15] this is a fun thing. My daughter did [29:17] some coloring yesterday and um she [29:19] colored a mermaid and I just [29:22] want to share with you cuz it kind of [29:25] captures how I feel. [29:29] >> [clears throat] [29:31] [laughter] [29:35] >> Yeah, that's that's me. [29:37] >> [laughter] [29:37] >> Yeah, that's that's pretty much how that [29:39] April Fools' post made me feel. [29:42] >> [laughter] [29:42] >> Definitely. [29:44] Absolutely. She understood She [29:45] understood the assignment. She's so [29:47] She's so cute. I love her but she [29:49] literally just like [laughter] [29:51] like really went kind of dark on that [29:53] one. Yes, very much so. [29:56] It was it was the it was the scribbling [29:58] out her eyes that did it. The two gaping [30:00] maw's. Yeah, yeah. [30:01] >> [laughter] [30:03] >> It's so so cute though. I love her. [30:06] She has a very like strong sense of [30:08] personal style. I like I like the way [30:10] she expresses herself. [30:11] >> Yeah. But that's the thing like that [30:12] whole RP segment in there [30:15] >> Yeah. It's like [30:16] not even low key, high key. RP's would [30:19] be very much up for that. It's like [30:21] yeah, give me give me all raid and [30:22] dungeon instances open and available for [30:24] RP. That would be that's exactly what I [30:26] want. Please, yes, thank you, say RP's. [30:27] Yeah, yeah, I enjoyed the the kind of [30:30] yeah, the kind of meta commentary going [30:32] on here about, you know, oh, like we've [30:35] we've created something for role [30:37] players. Oh, it's all this stuff that [30:39] already exists. Haha. But like you know, [30:42] genuinely it'd be like yeah, that [30:44] please. The highlighting content for [30:45] role players only. I was like [30:48] Yeah. [30:49] >> [laughter] [30:52] >> Right, I need to stop talking about this [30:54] now before I cry. [30:55] >> Yeah. [30:55] >> Good, let's move on. [30:57] So now we are going to move into spoiler [31:01] territory. [31:02] >> Here we go. [31:02] >> Time for the red bot spoiler bot, excuse [31:03] me. It's here. Here it is. [31:05] >> Get him back. Because I have played all [31:08] of this week's [31:10] campaign quests. I have completed the [31:13] raid on normal. [31:15] I unplugged it. Sorry raid team, I'll [31:16] still be there on Thursday, don't worry. [31:18] It's not going to take us very long, I [31:19] promise. [31:20] And I didn't get any loot, you'll be [31:23] very happy to know. You got no loot? [31:25] >> Not a single bean. Mind you, I think the [31:28] loot from it is pretty bad to be honest. [31:31] But anyway, [31:32] we are red bot spoiler botting. I mean [31:34] it's not a red bot, it's it's a blue [31:35] bot. Pardon me, it's a blue bot because [31:37] it's in the game and it's available for [31:38] everyone to see. No data mining [31:39] involved. But Yeah, but it's fresh. It's [31:42] >> fresh. It's very new. I've already seen [31:44] so many [ __ ] [ __ ] online spoiling [31:48] it. [31:49] You know who I'm talking about. They're [31:52] spoiling it. People love to spoil [31:54] things. [31:54] >> They're spoiling it. It's not hard to [31:55] put a little spoiler in it, is it? [31:57] >> to spoil something then spoil me, okay? [32:00] >> Yeah. Yeah. Is that like a sex thing? [32:02] Was that like being ruined? [32:04] >> No, that's like literally just give me [32:05] gifts. Oh, I see. [32:08] Our minds going to two very different [32:10] places there. Yeah, that's that makes [32:12] sense. So you've also watched the [32:14] cinematic and you have you have played [32:17] campaign chapter Oh, can we talk about [32:19] that first? [32:20] >> That's how we're going to start. Wait a [32:22] minute, how was your vault? Oh, I I mean [32:25] Cuz that's the first thing everyone did, [32:26] right? [32:26] >> Yeah, my vault is good. I did, you know, [32:28] we did some nice keys together. I did a [32:30] few and eight with you. It was not [32:32] enough to get me like myth item in my [32:34] vault but [32:37] it did give me some stuff. I got a nice [32:40] hero [32:41] um [32:42] I got a hero hat. I got the tier set [32:45] hat. [32:46] A hero hat and then I catalyzed one of [32:48] my hero gloves. So I've got a hero two [32:51] set. [32:51] >> Why not catalyze both of them? [32:54] No, I don't have it. That's the it was [32:56] already [32:56] >> I'm making a joke about there being two [32:57] gloves. [32:59] Hey, now that's good. [33:02] >> [laughter] [33:02] >> Now that's a good joke. You have to you [33:04] have to catalyze each glove individually [33:06] from now on. [33:08] Yeah, [33:09] yeah, so it so it was it was good. I [33:10] would say at the level [33:12] of, you know, my play which I get so I [33:15] still I still feel, you know, I feel [33:17] good [33:18] but wow. [33:22] You've got two set now. Yeah, yeah, so [33:24] I've got I've got two set now. [33:26] Probably easier if you take the slipper [33:28] off. Yeah, I should have done that. [33:31] Off of your foot. [33:32] But [33:33] yeah, so I've got I've got a two set [33:35] which is nice and you know, it's yeah, [33:38] it's okay. Oh, that's cool. Hey, hey, [33:40] that's all right. Plus eight like [33:41] Algeth'ar Academy key which I will will [33:44] people into doing with me. You can [33:46] easily push up to 10's like easily. [33:48] >> You know what? I I I think I could. I [33:50] think it's it's just the step over into [33:52] having like your two set and then your [33:54] four set and then just bumping up. Like [33:56] this is So here's the thing like I [33:58] typically would have hit this ceiling [34:00] like a bit earlier in the expansion, [34:02] right? I would have hit like a kind of [34:05] oh, I'm raiding with my buds and my DPS [34:07] is still [ __ ] That would have happened [34:09] a lot earlier. [34:10] >> [laughter] [34:10] >> Or later you mean or [34:12] >> No, no, no, it would have like I would [34:13] have I would have felt like frustration [34:15] earlier but like but because I there [34:17] have been these nice opportunities to to [34:20] gear up relatively, I still feel pretty [34:22] good about it. Anyway. How about you? [34:24] How was your vault? [34:25] >> My vault was [34:27] I joked about it. It was actually quite [34:28] good. It was it was the decisions that I [34:30] had to make that was hard cuz [34:32] I went in with like six heroic slots and [34:36] three mythic slots. How did you how? [34:39] Three heroic slots from delves [34:41] from from doing like you know, just [34:43] maxing those out. Three heroic slots [34:46] from raid [34:47] and [34:49] and [34:51] keys for the mythic track. [34:54] So you know, my hopes are pretty high [34:56] because I'm I'm dressed in like [34:57] combination of heroic and champion and [34:59] some veteran gear at the moment still. [35:01] Yeah, I know, man. Even though I think I [35:03] replaced the last bit of veteran because [35:05] you know, I'm running plus 10 keys which [35:07] is like heroic items drop from from [35:11] mythic plus keys, right? So it's like I [35:13] just keep running mythic plus keys. I'm [35:15] going to be dressed all in heroic stuff [35:16] eventually. It's not I don't have to [35:17] wait for lockouts and stuff like that [35:19] like you do with raid. You can just and [35:21] that's one of the reasons like mythic [35:22] plus gearing is so overpowered. It's [35:23] like I just need to keep popping plus [35:26] 10's which are easy and like so easy [35:29] like right now for me personally in the [35:31] level I play [35:33] that it's it's like doing plus four's [35:36] last season or something. Yeah. And [35:38] granted 12's and 13's quite tricky and [35:40] you have to really think about them and [35:41] really kind of, you know, we failed [35:43] quite a lot of those but plus 10's like [35:46] they they they just slip [35:49] down like a juicy oyster and and you [35:51] might get heroic gear at the end of it. [35:53] Well, you wouldn't, someone will [35:54] and that's cool. Speaking of Sorry, [35:56] speaking of heroic gear, have you come [35:58] across the issue of like the same piece [36:02] of gear dropping like an extremely high [36:05] amount? It feels again it feels like too [36:08] early for me to be like I only have two [36:12] pieces of No, I have three pieces of [36:14] heroic gear on and one of them is a [36:17] trinket of which I have received four [36:19] of. [36:20] >> The Sylvan Wakku Pakku or whatever. Wow, [36:23] what? It's literally and it's like it's [36:25] not good but it's like I literally have [36:28] received four of them. I can't remember [36:30] which one it is I can't forget which one [36:31] it is but it's got like the golden [36:32] silhouetted person on it and and like [36:35] it's I think it's healing trinket. [36:38] I get the same one [36:40] and it's literally the same thing and [36:41] it's and so every time I have the chance [36:44] to get some hero gear [36:45] it is the same it is the same one. That [36:47] does suck, man. [36:49] Yeah. It's not good. Yeah. [36:51] Boo. Anyway, in my vault Anyway. On my [36:54] myth track I got some I got a mythic [36:59] chest and mythic trousers which are both [37:02] good because you can catalyze those but [37:04] I had [37:05] previously catalyzed my heroic chest to [37:09] get two set. So I didn't want to take a [37:11] mythic chest which I would then have to [37:12] catalyze again. Yeah. [37:14] So if I was going to take anything it [37:15] was going to be the mythic pants for [37:17] catalyzing. However, I also got my two [37:20] best trinkets in heroic level. I got [37:23] like the dream rift trinket and I got [37:25] the [37:27] the kind of the dragon's gaze one. I [37:29] forget what it's called. The Old No. The [37:32] Old Seer one is the is the dream rift [37:33] one. [37:35] The one with the like the purple dragon [37:37] yeah yeah. [37:38] Like yeah, the the mastery one like the [37:41] grade sort of thing which is great for [37:43] disc as well in raid. Cool beans. So I [37:46] was like is it better to take one of my [37:48] best trinkets in heroic or mythic pants? [37:51] And I had a conversation about it with [37:52] my guildies online and I decided to take [37:54] the mythic pants but I'm not catalyzing [37:56] them yet although I probably should [37:57] because there's no point cuz like I'd [37:59] still only be [38:00] like three set like Sure. It's not it's [38:03] kind of a waste to catalyze anything [38:06] like to give yourself three set. Yeah, [38:08] save it until it gives you four set, [38:10] right? [38:11] So yeah, so that's what I've got. I've [38:13] got my mythic pants on now. Mythic [38:16] pants. Of course you got to get the best [38:17] pants. I've got nothing else to spend my [38:19] mythic crests on so [38:20] I might as well spend it on like [38:22] upgrading my pants all the way. [38:25] All right, cuz I have my 20 myth crests [38:27] from [38:28] >> [laughter] [38:28] >> Yeah. from that one quest that I just [38:30] keep getting them to me. And and like I [38:31] guess I I guess I guess I could I I [38:33] think the next thing would be to craft [38:35] myself like a belt with a cool [38:36] embellishment on it or something. Oh, [38:39] yeah, you can Oh, of course. [38:40] >> Yeah, yeah, I'm assuming. I'll look at [38:42] the guides but that's what I'm assuming [38:44] like yeah, I craft myself a belt or some [38:46] [ __ ] like that. Something that you [38:47] wouldn't catalyze, right? [38:49] Is is what I'm thinking. I did I tell [38:51] you that I finally figured out crafting? [38:53] I finally just like maxed it out. I did [38:56] it. [38:57] So you went through a journey last week. [38:59] A journey that many of us went through [39:01] in Dragonflight when we first kind of [39:02] took up the new crafting. Oh, how does [39:04] this work? [39:04] >> [laughter] [39:05] >> [ __ ] that. [39:09] No, I didn't. I didn't. But yeah, I [39:12] finally got into crafting properly and [39:16] uh [39:17] you know, it's a bit it's a bit opaque, [39:19] isn't it? It's like a little bit broke [39:22] and I got really excited and I just [39:24] started putting like knowledge points [39:25] into my nodes without really thinking [39:27] about them and [39:28] >> Loaded up my nodes. Yeah, and packing it [39:31] all into my nodes. But you know, now [39:34] I've I've like I've properly done it. [39:36] I've properly done all the work. I've [39:37] done all the research. I don't have like [39:39] the purple gear that you have to farm [39:42] done done for like I don't that's I [39:45] don't need that and yeah exactly. [39:47] >> I got my shoes, I got my eagle mounts. [39:49] Yeah. [39:49] >> I am done. Yeah and done done you're [39:52] done done. Yeah. [39:54] And [39:56] X So I've got yeah [39:58] so I've got my [40:00] I've got my [40:01] I've got my [40:03] my best marksman crafted my two pieces [40:08] which are like the boots and the belts. [40:12] >> Oh is that what they recommend? [40:13] >> Yeah yeah yeah and those are like best [40:14] for the rest of you know this season and [40:18] I've got them up to hero maybe [40:19] eventually I'll get them up to the myth [40:21] but like they're there and they're gold [40:23] and I can do it and I dropped a huge [40:25] amount of gold on proud belts recipe but [40:28] it felt really good and like you were [40:30] saying it feels so good to have a thing [40:32] with your name in it like your your [40:33] name's on there. Crafted by me like me [40:36] by me Like I made myself some good [40:39] [ __ ] Um I jump in I make myself my [40:41] staff every tier it's like you know it's [40:44] a weapon so it's great you want to have [40:46] like [40:47] a mythic weapon and that's taken care of [40:49] then I'm not thinking about weapon drops [40:51] for the rest of the tier I'm like yeah [40:52] nice one [ __ ] rocking yeah I love it [40:55] and I love having a weapon that I have [40:56] crafted myself it says made by me on [40:59] And then I just upgrade it every tier. [41:01] Feels fantastic. Yeah yeah so yeah I [41:03] yeah I still don't feel like I don't I [41:05] don't love the crafting system but I you [41:08] know I've maxed it out to the best of my [41:10] ability I'm keeping on top of like doing [41:12] crafting orders accumulating more [41:14] knowledge point you know [41:16] yeah I got there I got there in the end. [41:19] Um but yeah anyway that's like part of [41:22] my my gearing journey this season. [41:24] That's good to know thank you [41:26] really interesting really good. So [41:29] After we've done that after we've done [41:31] I forgot to like pick up any quests or [41:32] anything like that cuz I went straight [41:34] to the campaign quest which is you know [41:37] marching on caldanas right? Um and it [41:39] takes a form this entire thing well for [41:41] start first of all when I got there I [41:43] stood by the kind of the table in the [41:46] center of light for a bit getting [41:48] footage of like all the leaders standing [41:50] around the table cuz it's really cool [41:51] you've got shandris there and you've got [41:54] umbreck there and you've got who's the [41:56] other alliance one oh valera there. Um [42:00] Valera or verisa? [42:02] Which the windrunner sister valera? Yeah [42:04] windrunner valera there so they're [42:06] representing the whole alliance and then [42:08] on the other side you've got [42:10] like [42:11] lorthamar and thalysra and they're [42:12] standing really close together. I like [42:14] that I thought that was really good [42:17] you got halderon you've got [42:20] liadrin and all the rest of them and [42:22] it's it's great I I love that [ __ ] and [42:25] it was it was nice I got lots of footage [42:26] of that oh and arator. Of course arator. [42:28] >> But is arator allowed to be at that [42:30] table for some [ __ ] He thinks he's [42:33] better than himself man. Why is he [42:34] allowed to be at that table? He's not [42:37] he's not a factional racial leader why [42:40] is he there? He's just some [ __ ] No. [42:43] It's like we here we are at THE TABLE [42:45] ALL OF THE ALL OF US ALL of the leaders [42:49] of all the races and this [ __ ] [ __ ] [42:51] why? [42:52] Why? [42:54] All he does is tell them they're [ __ ] [42:56] wrong. [42:57] Are you seriously telling me that they'd [42:58] be like oh not this guy get rid of this [43:01] guy all he does is [ __ ] tell us we're [43:04] wrong he's absolutely an alpha baby. And [43:07] he'll always deny it he'll be like oh no [43:09] it was so hard oh it was so hard having [43:11] two legends [43:13] of the alliance to I was so you [43:15] understand the pressure I've been under [43:17] I got you a seat at the table though [43:18] didn't it arator? He's a storytelling [43:21] device he's very important. Why is he at [43:24] the table? [43:25] >> He's very important. [43:26] >> I only just got invited to [ __ ] al [43:28] cantina two weeks ago. [laughter] [43:32] I still like him. No one knows who my [43:34] mom and dad are. [43:36] >> [laughter] [43:38] >> I still dig him. Um yeah okay [43:40] so yeah anyway arator's got an amazing [43:42] plan everyone and we all have to listen [43:44] to him and his plan is we're going to [43:45] attack the bridge and go to caldanas so [43:47] that's what we do. Caldanas. Caldanas [43:50] and so it's one of those things I it's [43:53] one of my favorite types of wow quests [43:54] if I'm completely honest. [43:56] Oh I love it like you know it's like are [43:58] you ready to launch this scenario I'm [43:59] like hell yeah I'm ready for a scenario. [44:02] It's so good and all the soldiers are [44:03] there and they're all lined up and [44:04] they're all like woah and the ancients [44:06] are there and like there's like a [44:08] million high elves on dragons and [ __ ] [44:11] it's like yeah I loved going through [44:13] that bit and I loved spoiler season [44:15] obviously I loved going through that bit [44:17] and seeing like I went and I checked on [44:20] all of the the little groups of people [44:22] I'm like okay I've got the fire striders [44:24] here I've got some nightborne here I've [44:27] got the kaldorei here I've got you know [44:30] everyone is like everyone's assembled [44:32] everyone looks amazing. Yeah. All of the [44:34] elves are like in their finest elven [44:36] garb and all the different elf flavors [44:38] and as an elf like yeah I was like heck [44:42] this is good this is lovely [44:44] I I really I really enjoyed that I loved [44:47] having like the ancients there and yeah [44:48] they they we start the assault on like [44:51] crossing the bridge and I love how [44:52] there's kind of you know there's a [44:54] there's a focus and you push forward and [44:56] you kind of defeat a bunch of people in [44:58] the first bit and then you keep going [44:59] forward and and you know your strategy [45:02] changes I loved having I loved running [45:05] through and having [45:07] you know like liadrin just like smiting [45:10] people like Yeah. I'm approaching a [45:12] bunch and I'm like ready to like pop [45:13] cool down or something and she's just [45:15] like [45:16] and destroys everyone I'm like Yeah. Man [45:18] you just kind of threw off my rotation I [45:19] I I I exactly I do that I'm [45:20] >> [laughter] [45:21] >> I'm running up and I'm like using using [45:23] the the extra action button which is [45:25] like a super attack that they've given [45:26] me I'll get rid of that mob that group [45:28] of mob there but I didn't notice [45:29] umbreck's in there as well and before [45:31] and I I I cast the thing and before it [45:33] can land and kill them all umbreck's [45:34] like I'll take care of these guys with [45:36] my voidy dicks. Yeah. [45:39] Oh [45:39] oh oh oh [45:40] >> just voidy dicks them all and they're [45:41] all dead and they're all like The void [45:42] submits to me and I was like [45:45] Like and [45:46] this is spoilery guys this is going to [45:48] be spoilery pretty much until we until [45:50] we get to super chat thing. That one [45:51] that one cracked me up because yeah [45:53] spoilers for the rest of the episode [45:54] basically and that one cracked me up [45:56] because you know you're when you're [45:57] running through they're they're kind of [45:58] visible but that was there was just a [46:00] group of mobs on the dock and you're [46:01] like that one's for me to get and then [46:03] umbreck's like no no no. [46:07] >> [laughter] [46:07] >> Okay. But I do like I loved all the like [46:10] defending the docks I thought that was [46:11] really cool [46:12] and then [46:14] when they were like the skies are clear [46:16] and I ran halfway back before realizing [46:18] I could fly now. [46:18] >> No no no I it's I was annoyed but okay [46:22] so there's a little cinematic plays and [46:24] and arator goes the skies are clear. And [46:28] then the cinematic ends you're back and [46:31] arator you know character box pops up [46:33] the skies are clear fly back to me and [46:36] and and you know let's do the next step [46:38] and I'm like dude you just said the [46:40] skies are clear how many times do you [46:42] have to tell a wow player that you can [46:44] fly you literally just cleared the skies [46:47] you said it twice and then you said the [46:49] words fly back to me. Who's going to [46:51] miss this [ __ ] apparently you did. Me me [46:54] well no no cuz I I was like you know I [46:57] was I was running along I was like oh [46:58] did he mean I could fly and yeah [47:01] but I did I didn't miss it I was just a [47:02] bit slow on the uptake that's all. [47:05] He's like fly to me you know literally [47:08] get on your mount. Yeah [47:11] a lot of people in the chat did not [47:12] understand [47:13] a lot of people in the chat ran all the [47:15] way back to that [ __ ] bridge. [47:18] >> [laughter] [47:21] >> Um so this campaign chapter that we're [47:23] talking about right now is available to [47:24] everyone [47:26] the raid isn't open till [47:27] on story mode now the far until next [47:30] week. Mhm. Um isn't that right so yeah [47:33] then you get to the bridge. Yeah and you [47:35] keep you keep pushing forward on on on [47:37] the bridge [47:39] and [47:39] >> that bit by the way I thought that was [47:41] really really cool because it was you [47:43] and lorthamar and liadrin and arator. [47:47] And umbreck. And umbreck and like [47:49] it was like you would you guys were just [47:51] kicking ass together it was actually [47:53] really good. [47:53] >> Yeah. And like that first kind of when [47:55] the first kind of it was a bit like in [47:57] phantom menace that bit that ruins the [48:00] like how everyone talks about the [48:02] lightsaber duel in phantom menace is [48:03] really good when they're trying to [48:04] defend that [ __ ] awful movie [48:06] and you go no the YouTube compilation of [48:11] like the lightsaber duel in phantom [48:13] menace is really good cuz it cuts out [48:14] all the [ __ ] cutaways and [ __ ] that [48:17] breaks up that fight scene you know like [48:20] and it's also like oh we're making one [48:21] of the best lightsaber duels of all time [48:24] but what we'll do is just for a joke in [48:26] the middle of that lightsaber duel we'll [48:28] put them in a weird corridor that has [48:30] like doors opening and closing so they [48:32] have to stop fighting they have to stop [48:34] doing the fun thing so we have time to [48:36] cut back to the really [ __ ] CGI battle [48:38] that's happening elsewhere it's like no [48:40] when you watch the movie the lightsaber [48:41] duel [ __ ] sucks it's good when you [48:44] put it all together like it should be in [48:45] the film and put it on YouTube anyway. [48:48] Anyway. That's what that's what the [48:49] bridge reminded me of was that little [48:51] kind of corridor with the funny doors in [48:52] it and they open up one at a time and [48:55] that first wave of baddies that came [48:57] through I don't know when you're when [48:59] you're with NPCs you expect them not to [49:01] really do much [49:03] and they were like they were just [49:04] joining in with you and it was like boom [49:05] boom boom and they didn't do anything [49:06] special either they were JUST LIKE YEAH [49:08] [ __ ] IT LET'S GO. It was really cool and [49:10] I loved it I thought it was good it was [49:11] really neat that was really really fun [49:14] and of course zalatath is kind of [49:15] taunting you and arator she's taunting [49:17] arator along the way. Yeah like [49:22] So [49:23] arator really really really needs to [49:25] work on his comeback game because [49:28] like [49:29] every time like [49:31] zalatath would pop up and she'd be like [49:33] arator you're a piece of [ __ ] [ __ ] [49:37] Yes, suck and everyone hates you. I [49:41] don't even care about you. And then I'll [49:43] be like, "Whoa, what's Arator going to [49:45] say? What's he going to do?" And Arator [49:46] is like, "Oh, yeah? Well, [49:51] I know you are, but what am I?" [49:54] And you're like, "Arator, dude, this is [49:56] so [ __ ] cringe." [49:58] Oh, he sucks so bad. Like, the only one [50:00] burning here is you. Yeah. [50:03] His first comeback was pretty good. His [50:05] first comeback was something like, "No, [50:07] we will vanquish you this day, [50:09] Xal'atath. I swear it on my father's [50:12] shield." And I thought, okay, he was [50:14] proven to be wrong. We didn't actually [50:15] vanquish her. But, like, I liked the [50:17] line. I thought the line was pretty [50:18] good. But then after that, they were [50:20] they were bad. They were bad comebacks. [50:22] She was like She was like, "Are you Oh, [50:24] oh, poor little boy. Are you going to [50:26] burn up again and burn all your friends [50:28] with the wrath of the light?" And he's [50:29] like, "Duh, duh, duh. The only one who's [50:33] going to burn, uh Zally, [50:37] is you." [50:38] >> He's like me trying to Yeah, he's like [50:39] me trying to do smack talk. And he's 40 [50:42] years old. [50:43] >> Yeah, he's just very He's like very [50:45] earnest and serious. It suits him. He [50:48] was They were weak weak comebacks. Do [50:50] you know why? Cuz he shouldn't be Why is [50:53] he there? [50:54] >> one line that he said that was good. [50:55] There was one line that HE SAID THAT WAS [50:56] GOOD. THERE was one line that he said [50:57] that was good. There was one line that [50:57] he said that was good. There was one [50:58] line that he said that was good. There [50:59] was one line that he All you All you [51:01] managed to do was unite the elves or [51:03] something. Like, I can't remember the [51:05] exact line, but it was All you succeeded [51:06] to do is unite us. [51:08] >> Yeah, and I'm like, yeah. That's pretty [51:10] good. [51:11] I guess. I like that one. Yeah, okay. [51:13] >> Yeah. [51:15] Uh He's had that shield line saved up [51:17] like all expansion, and he blew it. And [51:18] it was good. It was good. It worked, but [51:20] he should have had some others lined up [51:21] as well. [51:21] >> Yeah. He didn't He did not prepare his [51:23] comeback game in this patch. [51:24] >> not, and that's fine. He's He's He's [51:26] just He's just doing the the [51:27] >> [laughter] [51:27] >> Yeah. [51:28] He's bless him. He's doing his best. [51:30] >> But I like the fighting. I thought the [51:32] fighting was really good. And then the [51:33] little cutscene that plays at the end of [51:35] the bridge, where you see all of the [51:36] elves doing their [ __ ] right? And then [51:38] they're like, [51:39] "OH, I LOVE THAT SHIT." AND THEN THEY'RE [51:41] LIKE, "OH, I LOVE THAT SHIT." AND THEN [51:41] they're like, gives you the kind of [51:43] feels. And I was sitting here and [51:45] Thalyssra was doing it, and he was like, [51:47] "Oh yeah." [51:48] >> Yeah, I was loving that [ __ ] I was like [51:50] I was kind of cheering along. It was It [51:52] felt really good. It felt really [51:53] impactful. I I really enjoyed I really [51:56] enjoyed the scenario. I thought it was [51:58] good. [51:58] >> I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [51:59] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [51:59] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:00] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:01] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:02] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:03] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:04] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:04] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:05] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:06] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:07] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [52:08] I I I I I I I I I I I That [ __ ] [52:10] rules. And you know why I love that? [52:11] I've written this in a video before, but [52:13] I love that because of that scene just [52:16] before the second Siege of Orgrimmar in [52:18] BFA. It was the end of BFA just before [52:20] the Mag'har, where like Thalyssra is [52:24] talking to Jaina, and she's like, "Yo, [52:27] that [ __ ] you did at the beginning of [52:28] the expansion in the Battle of [52:29] Lordaeron. I know we're on different [52:31] sides, right? But, that floating ship [52:33] with the like the magic cannons, how the [52:36] [ __ ] did you do that?" And And Jaina's [52:38] like, "Maybe I'll tell you." [52:40] Even though like you're a Horde and I'm [52:41] Alliance, so probably shouldn't. But, [52:43] and you know, this is like [52:45] We've proved this expansion that we're [52:46] always at war anyway. And And it's cool [52:48] that she did learn how to do it. She [52:50] did. [52:50] >> rocks up with her arcane cannons. I just [52:52] think that's so cool. It's such a great [52:54] little kind of throwback. I love that. I [52:55] think that's really funny. [52:56] >> really cool. But then [52:58] Yeah. And then And then you're like, [53:01] "Wait, wait, you know, then arrows or [53:03] something come flying your way or [53:05] whatever." And suddenly there's Zul'jara [53:08] rocking up with the trolls. [53:10] >> I love that [ __ ] [53:11] >> And her line is so good. She's like, [53:13] "You think I could resist an opportunity [53:15] to raid Silvermoon?" And I'm like, [53:17] >> [laughter] [53:17] >> "That's a great line." [53:19] Oh, [53:21] that that literally made me go like, [53:23] "Well done." That was so good. And then [53:26] of course, because the trolls are there, [53:28] the Harbingers come too. [53:29] >> Yeah. And you're like, [53:30] >> Mind you, like, You say come too, that's [53:32] cool. So So Zul'jara basically turns up [53:34] by herself. She's got like it's her and [53:35] some friends. It's like her and some [53:36] friends. [53:37] She's literally like on a [ __ ] raft. [53:40] She's like, "Okay, [53:41] uh me and we just going to raid." And [53:43] it's like, "Okay, I guess. Thanks." [53:45] Yeah. She's like, "I could not resist." [53:48] Yeah, it was Yeah, it was She was cool. [53:50] [laughter] [53:51] Yeah. Um And yeah, the Harbingers [53:52] turning up was fun as well. I liked that [53:53] [ __ ] [53:54] I like I like I love the bit if they do [53:58] it, which they don't always, but I like [53:59] it when, you know, you're doing the [54:01] fight at the end of the opening patch, [54:02] and all the allies you made turn up and [54:05] help. And that's [54:06] That's what it's all about, right? [54:07] Absolutely. [54:08] >> Yeah. I'm glad the Dominar didn't turn [54:10] up, cuz they suck. Well, that would be [54:13] That would be confusing. [54:14] >> Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. [54:15] >> [laughter] [54:16] >> I'm like, "Are we even fighting you [54:18] Yeah, yeah. Um Yeah, I thought that was [54:21] That was a very very cool uh scenario. [54:23] Really cool cinematic. And I love Yeah, [54:26] I love how it wraps up. And then of [54:28] course And then, you know, you're so [54:29] pumped. You're hyped. Everyone is there. [54:31] They They They like We've reached kind [54:33] of the gates. We're ready to go. Wait, [54:35] wait, wait, wait. Do you think [54:37] Do you think Arator was silently [54:39] seething when the trolls and the [54:41] Harbingers turned up? Cuz he was like, [54:43] "I said elves only." [54:46] "I This [54:48] This was supposed to be an elf thing. It [54:50] was my plan, [54:51] >> [laughter] [54:51] >> and I said, [54:53] it's an elf thing, okay? [54:55] So, [54:57] by my father's shield, [55:00] I SWEAR TO GOD." [55:01] >> OKAY, GUYS, um I [55:04] uh But to be fair, thing. [55:05] >> He did specify in the email it was elves [55:07] only. It was very clear. [55:10] Very clear it was going to be elves. [55:12] >> They're kind of, you know, they're elves [55:14] way back when, right? Like, they they [55:16] are [55:17] >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, yes. [55:19] >> Pre-said Pre- What Whatever the opposite [55:20] of of descendants They're They're [55:23] They're elves like adjacent, I guess. [55:25] They're kind of like Yeah, yeah, yeah. I [55:27] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:28] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:29] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:30] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:31] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:31] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:32] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [55:33] I I I I I I I I I I I It was so good. I [55:34] got so pumped. I was at the end. We were [55:36] at the We're there. We We finished. [55:37] Everyone's ready, and we're like, "Okay, [55:39] but now we just have to do this final [55:40] push." [55:42] Raid will open in story mode next week. [55:44] And I was like, "Are you serious?" Why [55:47] do they do that? Yeah, no. That is very [55:49] very dumb. [55:50] >> Why do they do that? What [55:51] benefit does that Okay, it keeps X [55:54] number of casual players playing for [55:57] another week. [55:58] Yeah. [55:58] >> Why do you have to do that? [56:00] >> I I've always defended I've always [56:01] defended like Blizzard's kind of roll [56:04] out of LFR and story mode. [56:06] But in this occasion, I [56:08] I think it's like a massive [ __ ] I [56:11] think like with Silvermoon being in so [56:14] many different phases as the story kind [56:17] of like You got your opening phase. [56:19] What? You've technically got your [56:20] opening phase, which is during the [56:21] opening scenario. Then you got another [56:23] phase after the opening scenario, where [56:25] the skybox is different again. And then [56:27] you've got [56:28] after the [56:29] Void Spire, where [56:31] the void the skybox is different again. [56:33] And spoiler, the skybox changes again [56:36] after March of Quel'Thalas raid. [56:37] Quel'Thalas. [56:39] You got four different skyboxes to get [56:41] through there, and four different like [56:43] phases of the city. And And like story [56:46] mode you know, and I love what splitting [56:48] these raids up has done for the story [56:50] and for the unfolding of events. [56:52] >> I really enjoyed the raid roll out. I [56:53] think it's very cool. I really enjoy [56:56] playing this way. I like it. [56:57] >> But, [56:58] it's insane to me that story mode isn't [57:00] included in that. Because who cares? [57:03] Exactly. Who Who Who really wants the [57:05] cinematics? The people who want to watch [57:07] the story. [57:08] >> Precisely. So, look, Like who Like not [57:10] the hardcore [57:10] >> I I need to see that [ __ ] because of my [57:12] job, right? Cuz I don't want to just [57:13] like take the video off of Wowhead and [57:15] do my do my analysis that way. Like, I [57:17] want the context of all the quests and [57:19] like the things that happen directly [57:21] afterwards and things like that. I think [57:22] that's really really important, rather [57:23] than it just being a reaction or [57:24] something like that. So, what do I do? [57:27] I'm forced to go in there and pug it [57:29] this morning. Um [57:31] And I'd rather do it with my raid team. [57:33] But if it was open in story mode, I [57:35] could go in. I could see the story. I [57:37] could get everything I need. Um And this [57:39] is how other players feel as well, I'm [57:40] sure. Um And then And then I could enjoy [57:42] going and like doing it at higher level [57:44] with my with my raid team. [57:45] >> anything, when you do it in story mode, [57:47] you can focus on the story if you like. [57:49] You can You can get the story. Um Which [57:53] again, even just doing like normal Void [57:55] Spire, there are bits that We were We [57:58] were kind of just mopping through it. [57:59] Like, and that you know, when we got to [58:02] the Lightbound freaks, who, you know, we [58:05] have to [58:06] >> Blinded Vanguard. The Light Blinded [58:07] Vanguard, yeah. Exactly. That's what I [58:09] said. And um [58:11] when we get to them, who I love, like, [58:14] it wasn't immediately clear why they, [58:18] you know, people in the I mean, people [58:19] in the guild were like, "When Why When [58:22] did that happen?" And so I was like, [58:23] "Oh, well, in the last fight, you Did [58:24] you not see that they were kind of going [58:26] like crazy?" It's like, "No. No, we [58:28] didn't, cuz we were just kind of [58:29] focusing on And chatting with your [58:31] buddies. And chatting, and you know, I [58:33] really believe there could be some kind [58:35] of like wider story mode. And again, [58:38] story It's called story mode. Like, just [58:40] take me through the whole story, even of [58:42] the raid, not just the last boss. [58:44] >> And I There I have never met a single [58:46] person who's raided in their raid team [58:48] who's noticed that [58:51] at the end of the like [58:53] Blinded Vanguard fight, Alleria jumps [58:55] into the portal by herself going after [58:57] Xal'atath. No one sees that, because [58:59] they are looting. They're going through [59:01] the loot. [59:01] >> Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. [59:02] >> And they're going like, "Oh, what's [59:03] dropped? Do I I need on that? I'm going [59:05] to roll on that." And like, in the [59:06] meantime, like, Alleria's jumped up into [59:09] the portal. And so there's always been [59:11] this thing of like And it's happened [59:13] every time I've done this raid with with [59:15] guildies I'm pugging. You go up to the [59:17] final platform, and Alleria's there [59:18] like, [59:19] >> [snorts] [59:19] >> Yeah. Like, um getting choked out by [59:21] Xal'atath. And And yeah. And you're [59:24] like, "Oh, huh. Wait, how did she get up [59:26] here?" [59:27] It made me think of that time [59:30] >> [laughter] [59:32] >> You just think It's just my I would just [59:34] I just had fun memories of Astalor Chulk [59:36] and the in his basement, you know? [59:39] I was like, "That's a nice throwback." [59:41] To when Astalor was like [59:43] >> [laughter] [59:43] >> Daddy Soul. Yeah. Um yeah, well, me too. [59:47] Um but like yeah, and and so every time [59:49] I do that raid, people are like, "Wait, [59:51] was she here though? Did she get When [59:52] did she get captured? I don't [59:53] understand." It's like it's you miss [59:55] like the important kind of like story [59:57] bit at the end of like [59:58] >> I agree completely. I feel like it's [59:59] still a disjunction. I love that story [60:01] mode exists. I feel like there's still a [60:03] little some bumps in how story is [60:06] conveyed and told kind of through when [60:08] story mode is implemented, when you can [60:10] access it, the way it's you know, it's [60:13] still I'm still not getting a whole [60:16] neat overview, which I would like. I get [60:18] it. Blizzard want to and you know, in in [60:21] many ways I kind of agree with them cuz [60:23] I I believe that like raiding is the [60:25] most aspirational part of the game and I [60:27] think that's good. I think it's good [60:28] that wow has aspirational content and [60:30] raid is like amazing aspirational [60:32] content. Like I only started raiding at [60:34] the end of Warlords [60:36] and but before that I didn't look at [60:39] raiding and go, "Ooh, damn, that thing [60:41] keeps me out." I was like, "Holy [ __ ] I [60:43] don't think I'll ever be able to do it, [60:44] but it would be so cool to go into [60:46] raids, right? It would be so good to see [60:49] all that stuff and the story and like [60:51] you know, be with all those people and [60:53] see all the spell effects go off and [60:54] fight these big bosses and [ __ ] and like [60:56] oh my god, I'll never be able to do it, [60:57] but like one day it would be cool if I [60:59] could." [61:00] >> Yeah. Um and I I that you know, that was [61:01] something that kind of stuck with me all [61:03] the way through the game until I did [61:04] start raiding. And I I get that Blizzard [61:06] want to kind of preserve some kind of [61:09] aspirational content in the game. I [61:10] think I think that's a good thing and [61:13] you know, it's like, "Well, the people [61:14] who do who do raid raid they should be [61:18] able to see it first and it should feel [61:20] special to them when they go in there [61:21] and it's like, "Oh, I'm doing [61:22] something." Cuz that was always one of [61:24] the things about raiding and it was that [61:26] thing of like, "Oh my god, you you you [61:27] actually saw the Lich King get Were you [61:30] there?" And my god, I need I'd love to [61:32] be able to see that. And it's like I get [61:34] that they want to preserve an element of [61:35] that, but they don't. It's failing. It's [61:37] not happening cuz you're just going in [61:39] in stupid little pugs and like you feel [61:41] bad you're still not doing it with your [61:42] raid team and like open the story mode. [61:46] You know, it's fine. Like [61:48] do the story mode as the raid opens. Let [61:51] people who want to see the story go in [61:52] there and see the story and and this is [61:55] the first time I've been on this side of [61:56] the argument, by the way. I've always [61:58] been like, "I think it's fine the story [62:00] mode comes out a little bit later." But [62:02] in in this one with there being so many [62:04] steps of the story, which I think is [62:05] brilliant because of the raid roll out [62:07] and I love that and because I am someone [62:09] that can go in and complete normal raid [62:11] in the first week, you know, I've been [62:13] able to enjoy it like I'm supposed to. [62:15] But people who can't, it must be really [62:17] frustrating and annoying and maybe even [62:20] quite anxious and quite you know, if [62:22] it's something you care about and and [62:23] you don't want to get spoiled and stuff [62:25] and like just open the open the damn [62:27] story mode, man. Yeah. I'm with you. [62:29] Yeah. One thing that I do like [62:31] storytelling-wise is how the delves kind [62:33] of fit into things. Like we got [62:35] Parhelion Plaza, the Parhelion Plaza [62:38] delve, which I did right away cuz I was [62:40] there and I couldn't do the raid. [62:43] You know what I mean? I'm like, "Well, [62:44] here here I am." [62:45] >> Yeah, yeah. I guess I you know, and like [62:48] many other people, I flew to the door [62:52] which did not have a swirly delve [62:54] entrance. [62:54] >> I I went and then I laughed at you but [62:56] then I went there later. Of course you [62:58] did. I What I'm going to do after this [63:00] after this [63:02] I'm going to go back to that door and [63:05] I'm going to I'm going to film it. I'm [63:07] going to like screen capture it and I'm [63:08] going to just stand there and I'm going [63:10] to leave it on for 24 hours and it's [63:11] going to be like one of those nature [63:12] documentaries. You know, when they leave [63:14] like some food out or they leave like a [63:15] pretend female pigeon out and see all [63:17] the other pigeons coming and [ __ ] it or [63:18] something. Like and like it's going to [63:20] it's going to be like I'll speed it up [63:21] and you're going to see people coming to [63:22] the door and [ __ ] off again. They're [63:23] coming to the door and [ __ ] off [63:24] again. [63:25] It's going to be like I did that. I [63:25] stood there for a bit. I watched other [63:27] people stand there and go [63:29] you know, and like it was [63:30] >> [laughter] [63:31] >> it was cute. And then yeah, of course [63:32] the entrance is like in and you go down. [63:34] But I like [63:35] I I enjoyed that delve cuz I like how [63:38] it's literally just that bit of [63:41] Quel'Danas. [63:43] And Oh, sure. Like in the intro [63:45] scenario. [63:45] >> in the intro scenario. You're just I [63:47] haven't done that one yet. It's really [63:47] cool. You're just there and you're [63:49] fighting void guys and you're putting up [63:51] arcane bullwarks. [63:52] >> Cool. Bull bullwark I don't know how to [63:54] pronounce it. [63:54] >> Bullwarks. Bull bullwark. [63:56] >> Arcane bullwark. Arcane bullwarks. Yeah, [63:58] exactly. Yeah. So um [64:00] >> [laughter] [64:02] >> Uh I really I really enjoyed that. I [64:04] thought that was um [64:06] that was fun and that kind of scratched [64:08] the itch a little bit for me since I [64:10] couldn't actually just go in and do the [64:11] raid. And it was only like an hour until [64:13] podcast. I'm like, "I cannot [64:14] >> could get you could do the raid. [64:15] >> pug it in the raid. Well, I'm going to [64:16] have to pug it in the story mode. My [64:17] gear is stacked, obviously. I'm like 268 [64:20] or something. So I get and I'm a healer, [64:22] so I get accepted into any [ __ ] pug. [64:23] >> you did. Yeah. Um today Today. [64:26] >> But only today because like otherwise [64:28] you're going to need to have the [64:29] achieve. I I agree. So I'll pug it today [64:32] um which is a shame cuz our guild's like [64:35] casual runs are on Tuesday. I can't wait [64:37] until I can't wait until Tuesday. [64:39] >> [laughter] [64:41] >> Anyway. Yeah, and it's great that there [64:43] is so much story in the raid. It's great [64:44] that they have all these different like [64:46] stages of the story and I think I've I [64:48] think the story has been great in this [64:50] opening patch. I think that like I can I [64:52] can say Well, there's still another [64:53] chapter to go. But this opening patch of [64:55] Midnight has been brilliant. I like it. [64:57] It's What a great expansion. What a [64:58] fantastic time. I've had such a good [65:00] time, actually. I think there's been [65:02] there's been loads of fun storytelling. [65:05] There's been I there's been enough time [65:07] for me to kind of complete the campaign [65:10] like [65:11] like stories and really get a feel for [65:13] each zone and really kind of fall in [65:14] love with all of them. Yeah, and then [65:16] the kind of the gradual roll out with [65:18] the raids attached. It has felt special [65:20] and meaningful and then like yeah. [65:21] >> cool. It has felt really good. I really [65:25] like how they've they've split up the [65:26] raids, actually, cuz I wasn't sure how [65:28] that was going to feel. [65:30] Um I'm not sure how the like you know, [65:33] the the world first raiders are feeling. [65:35] My understanding is that there's you [65:36] know, there's a bit of downtime here and [65:37] there. [65:39] Well, now now they're in there and it's [65:41] like [65:42] >> now they're back in. [65:43] But you know, [65:45] you know, I follow I yeah on Instagram [65:46] and she's like she's just pumping the [65:48] like Oh my god, my heart goes out to [65:52] those poor poor casters. Every time I [65:55] turn on What? Not today cuz they're [65:57] like, "Oh my god, actually some some [65:58] raiding to talk about." But like this [66:00] whole past week, every time I switched [66:02] on, it's like especially poor Cruella is [66:04] there. Cruella's there like that. And [66:07] like generally people are like [66:09] trying to keep it friendly and like [66:11] trying to keep it high energy and but [66:13] they're flagging and Cruella does not [66:15] give a [ __ ] Cruella's all like that. [66:17] What the [ __ ] [66:19] >> [laughter] [66:19] >> What am I doing here? What what am I [66:21] doing here? That is that's not a very [66:23] good French accent. Uh [66:26] take it up with Cruella cuz it sounds [66:27] exactly like her voice. Uh but yeah, so [66:29] I I and and and but yeah, I'm watching [66:31] kind of I know's videos and she's like, [66:32] "A day in the life of casting and doing [66:35] stuff you know, with with Team Liquid [66:37] and it's like we've had a bit of [66:39] downtime. So we've had to come up with [66:42] entertaining segments." I know. It's [66:44] like oh Oh god. Oh no. Oh no. [66:47] It's like the weekly reset, you know. [66:48] You can't talk about the weekly reset. [66:49] [laughter] [66:50] It's not easy. [66:51] But yeah, so uh you know, maybe not [66:53] ideal for like that specific scenario, [66:56] but for me as a player, I really really [66:59] enjoyed this roll out with the raids. I [67:01] think it's been great. [67:02] Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Right. So is it [67:04] time [67:06] Is it time to talk [67:07] >> Uh well, okay. Um I'm just going to have [67:08] to write something [67:10] uh [67:11] Oh, very good. So now [67:14] it is it is time to discuss [67:17] the cinematic that comes at the end [67:20] of the March on Quel'Danas because it [67:22] has [67:24] it has I pugged it. I went in there. I I [67:28] actually watched a couple of videos with [67:31] like tactics as well because I don't [67:32] want to let anyone down in a pug. So I [67:34] went in there and my raid team and it [67:35] was [ __ ] So I I I went in there and [67:39] it's a [67:40] it's a fun little raid, I've got to say. [67:42] I mean, it was so easy. Like so easy on [67:45] normal. But of course it would be cuz [67:46] I'm heroic geared. Like I've just I've [67:48] just come off a week of doing like plus [67:49] 10s and 11s and mythic plus. Of course [67:51] I'm like very geared. [67:53] Um and so we brute forced our way [67:55] through the two bosses. Each boss took [67:57] two pulls. The Phoenix boss is great. [68:00] Oh, I'm really looking forward to doing [68:02] that on heroic [68:03] and and indeed mythic maybe at some [68:05] point as well because like I mean, I've [68:07] been saying this for months now, but I I [68:08] think I'm being proven right. [68:10] If Immortalis Argent Dawn EU was ever [68:12] going to get cutting edge, this is the [68:14] [ __ ] tier. [68:15] >> [laughter] [68:16] >> Like [68:17] I was like look, with how simple the [68:19] classes are, how simple the mechanics [68:21] are going to be because everyone's like [68:23] everyone at Blizzard is [ __ ] [68:24] themselves that everyone's going to be [68:25] so upset that they can't use their weak [68:27] auras that they've they've scaled stuff [68:28] back and they've gone a little bit too [68:29] far with class simplicity and with [68:31] mechanics and and tuning, I think. [68:34] But I think they've done that on [68:35] purpose. I think it's a thing of like [68:37] better to scale it back too far than not [68:38] enough and have people be like, "See, I [68:40] told you it was impossible without [68:41] add-ons." Like [68:43] so I you know, hopefully fingers crossed [68:47] the proof of the pudding will be in [68:49] point one where hopefully they'll start [68:52] bringing back some some more complexity [68:54] to the classes and to the to the fights [68:55] and stuff like that. But okay, you know, [68:57] exactly. But I It's a good starting [68:58] point. I think it was a good cool for me [69:00] months ago to say this was the season to [69:03] get cutting edge if you you haven't done [69:04] it before and you want to like like our [69:05] raid team. [69:07] So we went in and the Phoenix boss is [69:08] really good. It's like [69:10] your whole raid team gets turned into [69:12] either void or light and then all the [69:14] mechanics that drop are either void [69:16] mechanics or light mechanics and it's [69:18] like the light people want to deal with [69:19] the light mechanics and the void people [69:20] want to deal with the void mechanics and [69:22] it's fun. It's just good. And then and [69:23] then there's a bit where you swap and [69:25] half of don't realize you you've swapped [69:26] and they'll die. [69:28] Um and it's cool. And yeah, it's it's [69:30] it's it's fun fight. I like that. And [69:31] then the uh the the final fight [69:34] um much has been made of like the kind [69:36] of Final Fantasy XIV style [69:39] um mechanic where she shows like three [69:42] symbols in a row and then those symbols [69:45] get given to players and they have to [69:47] line up in the order in which she showed [69:50] them. Oh. Uh-oh. [69:53] >> Um and [69:54] like so if you if you miss it, then and [69:57] you know, it [69:58] it's easy to deal with. It just needs [70:00] someone to be watching for it and to [70:02] have an agreed-upon like [70:04] name for each symbol within the team. [70:06] And then it will always be someone's job [70:08] to say the order that the people need to [70:09] stand in, right? And that's easy. Like [70:11] mechanic solved. Um [70:14] and in normal you have so much time to [70:16] to line up. And then and then she does [70:18] like a kind of a a line that goes around [70:20] in a circle and you have to hit them in [70:22] the right order. Oh, I like that. [70:25] And we failed a couple times and we just [70:26] healed through it, but it was still a [70:27] pain. Um and then some other mechanics [70:29] as well, but we you know, I pretty much [70:31] YOLO'd that one and and completed it. [70:33] And [70:36] then I had already seen the cinematic. [70:39] And I was thinking maybe [70:42] maybe you feel the same thing. We'll [70:44] talk about the cinematic any second now, [70:45] but like when I watched that cinematic, [70:47] I was like [70:48] there must be like some dialogue that [70:52] happens before that cinematic starts in [70:54] the fight. Like you kill the boss and [70:56] then the boss says something or [70:57] something happens and then but no, you [71:00] kill the boss and the cinematic just [71:01] plays straight up. [71:03] Um which is a bit jarring because kind [71:06] of doesn't make sense. Oh, and before [71:08] you start the Lura fight, oh, this is a [71:09] really cool thing where she like [71:11] zaps Alleria [71:13] and she's all like "Oh, your mommy hates [71:15] you." And blah blah. And and then he's [71:17] all like "Oh, no, mommy." And then she [71:19] zaps [71:21] uh Verisa Verisa Alleria. [71:23] Windrunner. Verisa. Verisa. She zaps [71:26] Verisa and she's like uh "Oh, your [71:28] sisters all hate you. You suck." And [71:29] she's like "Oh, my sisters." [71:31] Um and and that you know, takes them out [71:33] of the fight that way. Which I think's [71:34] fun because usually what they do is they [71:36] just go "For some reason you're floating [71:37] and you can't join in this fight, [71:39] right?" But it's good that she like Lura [71:41] did some kind of weird stuff, right? Um [71:43] and then like um and then the and then [71:46] you you kill Lura [71:48] and you go into the Dark Well for the [71:50] final part of the fight, which is really [71:51] really cool. Kind of like going into the [71:52] Dark Heart. It's I mean that looks [71:54] exactly like it. The Dark Heart actually [71:56] changed. Um [71:57] uh and then you kill Lura and then the [71:58] cinematic plays. And [72:00] now [72:01] super Red Bot Spoiler Bot, cuz we are [72:04] talking about this cinematic. [72:06] >> I I tried to have him in my head [72:07] earlier but [72:09] he just focused away from my eyes, but [72:10] That's right. Just put him out. Yeah. [72:12] >> Yeah, so he was bum. [72:14] What is I've been thinking about and and [72:17] starting to draft like cinematic [72:18] analysis. What is your reaction to this [72:21] cinematic? [72:23] Right. So, um [72:25] the first time I saw [72:26] >> Before we start talking about this, I [72:28] just want to remind everyone of when I [72:30] was saying that Midnight is brilliant. [72:31] Yeah. [72:32] >> [laughter] [72:32] >> And how much I really enjoyed Midnight. [72:34] >> Midnight. [72:35] >> Yeah, okay, good. Now now you can talk [72:36] about it, yeah. Um [72:39] I I I you know, [72:40] I I think I wasn't surprised that it [72:43] happened. [72:44] Um but still when it happened, it made [72:47] me go [72:49] uh [72:52] So, what happens is, right? [72:56] >> [laughter] [72:56] >> Zal'atath is there. [72:58] >> Zal'atath. And Alleria [72:59] Alleria and [73:01] Verisa Verisa are on their knees. [73:04] I don't know why the [ __ ] they're there, [73:05] cuz they took no no part in the fight at [73:08] all, but okay, fine, they're there. And [73:10] actually that's really weird because [73:11] it's like they're not in the fight. Oh. [73:14] >> They're there. They're there. And so [73:16] okay, fine, whatever, right? And and [73:18] like then [73:19] Zal'atath turns up and she's like [73:23] "Now I'm going to kill you. You suck." [73:25] And like she's about to kill them. [73:26] >> "You Windrunners just don't know when to [73:29] die." [73:30] >> Yeah, and and but she's saying it in [73:31] like a triumphant way because she's [73:32] about to kill the Windrunners, right? [73:34] But then [73:35] black [73:36] arrow whizzes through the air. [73:40] And [73:40] >> And it yeah, and it fires it's finally [73:42] getting [73:43] >> Yeah, finally getting my shot in. That's [73:44] my shot coming all the way [73:45] >> long it takes to cast aimed shot these [73:48] days. That's my shot coming all the way [73:50] from Void's fire. [73:52] >> [laughter] [73:52] >> That one that missed. [73:55] I I wasn't aiming for you. And and and [73:57] and it it pops pops one of her sha- [74:00] shadow orbs. One of her shoulder orbs. [74:02] Just popped it like a balloon. [74:04] I guess it's pretty bad. IT GOES [74:06] LIKE THAT. [74:10] WAIT, SORRY. REWIND. NO, I just thought [74:13] I was like she's only she only has one [74:14] ball now. [laughter] [74:17] I thought that would be like her thing. [74:18] She's just asymmetrical. [74:20] >> No. No. No, it it it goes back in the [74:22] cinematic. Like um yeah. So, then then [74:25] it pops her it pops her shoulder thing. [74:28] And people are going to think I'm [74:30] telling an April Fools' joke right now. [74:32] And [74:34] through the portal, a dark portal that's [74:36] just opened up in in the room, [74:39] is not us who've just been fighting Lura [74:41] to save the day. It's [74:44] Sylvanas. [74:46] It's Sylvanas Windrunner. [74:48] And the Banshee Queen herself. [74:50] >> And I went oh, no. Yeah, I and I went [74:54] and and I think there's also I you know, [74:58] I have to say throughout the course of [75:00] this cinematic, I warmed up to it and I [75:02] rolled with it, but the initial um [75:06] you know, reveal and I was like ooh, I [75:09] was like that's a lot. That's a lot. Um [75:13] uh and she comes out and it just really [75:16] in a good way, it really reinforced to [75:17] me how utterly campy Sylvanas is. And [75:21] she's always been that way. She's always [75:24] been that way. When she comes out and [75:26] like the way she's animated, like she [75:28] doesn't move her upper lip at all. And [75:30] she's like [75:31] >> [laughter] [75:32] >> "I have come back." And I'm like oh [75:35] Please please please I your [75:38] your Sylvanas impression is reminding me [75:39] of Shadowlands. And okay, it's fine. [75:42] It's fine. Okay, well, no, look. So, she [75:44] comes back and uh [75:48] Zal'atath is like [75:51] "I don't want to do this right now." And [75:53] she really isn't. And like I I do like I [75:55] do like Zal'atath's line where she's [75:56] like "Huh. I honestly didn't factor this [75:59] in." Like do you know what? I honestly [76:02] didn't think of this. [76:03] "Okay. Huh. [ __ ] you. Okay." [76:06] >> [laughter] [76:06] >> It's like well, I've already won, so I [76:07] guess I don't know why she was like I [76:09] will deal with this later. But like you [76:11] can you can tell Zal'atath's thinking [76:13] the same thing as me which is like [76:16] you should have come like 5 minutes ago [76:18] when it would have mattered. Why didn't [76:20] you You might have stopped us. Yeah. But [76:23] you didn't. So I'm just going to go and [76:25] do the thing that I agree I was I mean [76:27] I've won. [76:29] Did you not [76:30] We're going down into the Okay, bye. [76:32] And then my my my favorite thing about [76:35] this cinematic and you know, Sylvanas is [76:38] there and Alleria and [76:41] Verisa. And I love I love the way [76:44] Verisa's animated. I love her facial [76:46] expressions. They really make her look [76:47] like you know, she takes a moment and [76:50] she's like looking at Sylvanas. [76:52] >> Yeah, best bit in the cinematic. [76:53] >> It's really good and she looks like [76:54] she's going to throw a punch at her. [76:56] Like she's ready to just lay the smack [76:58] down. [76:59] >> they very much animate her drawing her [77:00] fist back as well. [77:02] Um but she instead she throws herself at [77:05] Sylvanas. And I actually loved that. I [77:07] thought that was like such a [77:10] it was just a really lovely moment. And [77:12] Sylvanas in her like goofy Banshee Queen [77:16] kind of stoicness is there. And uh [77:18] Verisa is like, you know, it's her big [77:20] sister. You know, I thought I thought it [77:23] was it was really I I loved her like [77:26] animations and her expressions. I [77:27] thought I thought that was really really [77:29] lovely. Um and then of course everyone's [77:32] like okay, [77:33] what is Sylvanas doing here? How did she [77:36] get out of the Maw? Hi. And they're like [77:39] [laughter] "Hey." And she's like "Oh, [77:40] yeah, actually, you know, [77:42] you I mean yeah, you can actually get [77:43] out. Comes with a price. No don't know [77:45] what it is. I paid the price, but I did [77:47] get out. [77:49] I didn't really do anything. I did just [77:50] shoot I did pop one of Zal'atath's [77:52] balls. That's okay, you know." Yeah. [77:53] Well, I mean she's she's saving [77:55] uh [77:56] Verisa Alleria and Alleria, right? [78:00] Verisa. And sorry, I'm going to until [78:02] the day I die, man. She saved she saved [78:04] them. But then when she's like yeah, [78:06] exa- Well, no. So, there's this really [78:08] great moment between them, the sisters. [78:10] And then Alleria's there like "I thought [78:13] you couldn't leave the Maw." And he's [78:15] like "Shut the [ __ ] up." [78:17] >> Shut up, nephew. I was like [78:20] like his tone was just way off, man. It [78:23] was just like a bad vibe. There's a way [78:25] of delivering that line. No. [78:27] >> But it was not that. It was not like [78:30] >> [laughter] [78:31] >> Right? Hated that. Hated it. Alleria is [78:34] a sensitive guy, but he's also a blunt [78:36] instrument. Like he That's just That's [78:38] That's how he is. He's not the funny [78:41] guy. He's not the witty guy. He's like [78:44] he has [78:45] >> Oh, he is the witty guy. He the I said [78:46] witty guy. [78:47] >> Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, um so he's you [78:49] know, he has a sense of right and wrong [78:52] and a big like sword he wants to hit [78:55] people with, you know? He's So, his his [78:58] his sensitivity has its limits. Um so [79:01] yeah, and and Sylvanas is [79:05] uh you know, [79:06] uh Patty Patty Mattson is like [79:09] absolutely hamming it up for her and [79:11] like really so. super leaning into [79:15] Sylvanas mode here. Um [79:17] uh and uh and yeah, and she's and then [79:20] you know, she's here and she just [79:22] decides to drop give us a few little [79:25] nuggets. Well, okay, so the first thing [79:27] she says first thing she says is like, [79:28] "Well, nephew I do like that line where [79:29] she's like, well, nephew I can, but it [79:32] takes its toll." I thought she delivered [79:34] that line beautifully and the animation [79:35] on the face was beautiful when she said [79:37] that. She just seemed very tired and I [79:39] loved that. I thought that was a really [79:40] good characterization of her and it was [79:42] really cool. But like, um, and she's [79:44] like, you know, [79:45] "You said that Silvermoon was in danger [79:47] and that it would need Mhm. its Ranger [79:50] General one last time." [79:52] >> last time. And I'm like, yeah, no, but I [79:54] take issue with that, okay? Because she [79:56] didn't help. No. Like, she saved her [79:59] sister and Arator, yes, awesome, great. [80:02] But like, she didn't help with the [80:04] defense of Silvermoon. [80:05] >> Maybe it was a Ranger General we [80:06] wouldn't have lost. Maybe it'll turn out [80:08] that she was there just like pew-pewing [80:10] from the back. [80:11] >> know, maybe. I don't know. I'm with you. [80:13] >> I don't know. I think it'd be much [80:14] better if she arrived during the fight. [80:17] >> I'm with you. [80:17] >> If like if if like part of the Lura [80:19] fight she'd like appeared out of the [80:20] portal and helped then or any point. But [80:23] like to be like, "Oh, I heard you guys [80:25] needed your Ranger General." It's like, [80:27] yeah, we did. Where the [ __ ] were you? [80:28] Yeah. [80:29] >> Like, she wasn't there. She didn't help. [80:31] She saved She saved two people, but she [80:34] didn't help in the fight. No, you're [80:36] right. [80:37] >> Like, she didn't help in the the like [80:39] the march. She didn't help in the [80:41] battle. [80:41] >> Yeah. [80:42] >> Like, But it does seem like she can only [80:44] really be there briefly. She can appear. [80:46] For sure, for sure. Okay, but And then [80:48] she she literally goes, right? Wait, [80:50] like she was like, "That's fine, but [80:51] don't act like don't like you were there [80:52] then." [80:53] >> Yeah, but well, you know, she came to [80:54] help. [80:55] >> needed your Ranger General one last [80:56] time. It would have been nice, Sylvanas. [80:58] Yeah man. [80:58] >> Yeah, yeah, okay. I get I get I get your [81:00] kind of issue with that, though. And [81:02] then, [81:03] you know, and then she's like, "Well, [81:06] all is not as it seems in the [81:08] Shadowlands." [81:10] >> is the thing everyone wants to talk [81:11] about, okay? And we're like, huh? And [81:13] then and everyone's like, "Oh, no, she [81:15] said it she said the she said the [81:17] words." [81:18] Okay, so what this does is, right? So, [81:21] obviously you remember the Arator quests [81:23] at the end of the War Within where you [81:25] go to the Shadowlands and Sylvanas plays [81:27] her harp. And I love those quests. I [81:29] thought they were really really good. I [81:29] thought those were very cool. And she's [81:31] got a line in that which we never [81:33] actually made a video out of at the end [81:35] cuz I got a feeling I was going to be [81:36] able to do it later and here we are. [81:38] Uh, where she's like, [81:40] "There is something wrong with the [81:42] Shadowlands. [81:44] It is too ordered, too And we've talked [81:46] a lot about this on stream. Uh, but and [81:49] you know, it was like, "Well, is this [81:49] going to be something they deal with now [81:51] or is it coming later or something like [81:52] that?" And it's very much something [81:54] they're going to be doing now, clearly. [81:56] Uh, because yes, she she brings it to [81:58] the foreground [82:00] where she's like, "Oh, and there's that [82:02] other line in in uh, K'aresh where um, [82:06] what's her name? Who's the brilliant uh, [82:08] Ethereal in K'aresh that we all love who [82:10] was in the mall? Venari. [82:11] >> Venari's like, "I have been to the [82:13] Shadowlands. I know what it is you [82:16] fear." Yeah. Zaladormu, right? She's a [82:18] cool dude. Yeah, and all that stuff. And [82:19] And like And so, what Sylvanas is saying [82:22] here, where she's like, "I've got to get [82:24] to the truth of the Shadowlands. It's [82:26] not what it seems, etc." This is like [82:28] very much putting that front and center [82:31] now. So, it's it's it's going to be a [82:32] main thing, right? [82:34] Uh, which which okay, cool. So, here we [82:36] are. Let's talk about what that means. [82:37] And obviously, I'm going to be talking [82:38] about it a lot in the cinematic [82:40] analysis. Going to take up the bulk of [82:41] the cinematic analysis, probably. [82:43] Um but [82:45] what do you think it means, Evie? [82:49] I mean, there is a hint that the [82:53] Shadowlands is just a place created by [82:56] the [82:58] Titans or whatever. Right. [83:00] >> Exactly. This world is a prison. [83:02] >> Yeah. The Shadowlands are a prison. [83:03] Yeah. Right. In a In In In a In a [83:05] nutshell. That's been kind of like the [83:07] the going theory. [83:09] >> Exactly. And I don't want to get into it [83:10] too much cuz we'll get into it deep in [83:12] uh, cuz I don't think we've ever done a [83:13] main channel video on something like [83:15] something we've done something we've [83:16] done we've done a lot of on stream and [83:17] and therefore on the second channel a [83:18] bit. Uh, but [83:20] >> Um, [83:21] I will go into a lot of detail on it, [83:23] but [83:24] for now, just so I can tell you where [83:27] we're at. Mhm. Um, people are going to [83:29] call this and have been calling it for [83:31] since that original Sylvanas quest [83:33] that we were just talking about, the [83:36] reconning of Shadowlands. [83:38] >> Mhm. [83:39] Um, this idea and the idea of reconning [83:42] Shadowlands has always been very popular [83:43] ever since everyone hated Shadowlands. [83:44] They were like, "Can we just recon the [83:45] [ __ ] out of this and pretend it never [83:46] happened?" And Blizzard have never done [83:48] that. They've always kind of leaned into [83:49] Shadowlands in a way that I kind of [83:51] respect, right? Not not making it very [83:53] like relevant, but very much kind of [83:55] keeping it there in a thing. Um, and [83:58] then Sylvanas' line like, "It's too [84:00] ordered." [84:01] which definitely suggests something to [84:03] do with Titans and stuff like that, [84:04] obviously. So, here's my take on that. [84:07] Um, [84:09] one, [84:10] the reconning of Shadowlands. [84:11] >> Mhm. My take on this is that [84:14] the recontextualization that they appear [84:17] to be leaning in towards Shadowlands is [84:20] less a recon [84:22] and actually [84:25] changing something that was a recon to [84:27] be more like it was in the first place. [84:30] So, it's almost like a reverse recon. I [84:32] don't like calling it a recon cuz it's [84:34] like Oh, sure. [84:35] >> It's it's a restoration [84:37] >> Yeah. as it were. [84:38] >> A reconciliation. [84:40] >> Exactly. [84:40] >> yeah. So, so my take is this, right? And [84:44] I said this in the build-up to the [84:45] Shadowlands expansion, which I was [84:46] excited about when they announced it, [84:48] but like before they announced it and [84:50] everyone was going, "What do you think [84:51] of a Shadowlands expansion, Taliesin?" I [84:53] was like, "I think that's a [ __ ] [84:54] terrible idea." Because the Shadowlands [84:57] is just like a death version of the [85:01] Emerald Dream. As in, it is a recreation [85:04] of it it's Azeroth, but a different like [85:07] phase of Azeroth, basically. That's what [85:09] the Emerald Dream is for life and [85:11] Shadowlands is that for death. So, like [85:14] >> It's where you go when you're a wisp, [85:15] right? [85:15] >> Exactly. So, if you are going to do an [85:17] expansion set in the Shadowlands, you're [85:19] going to have to do the expansion stuff. [85:20] You're going to going to give it [85:21] different zones with different [85:22] aesthetics and different characters and [85:25] societies and hierarchical structures [85:28] and rules. And it's like, no one wants [85:30] that in the Shadowlands. You're like, [85:31] you're you're forcing stuff into the [85:33] Shadowlands which it just isn't. Like, [85:35] it's just like a [ __ ] ghosty Emerald [85:37] Dream, okay? Keep it like that. That's [85:39] what it is. Think of something else to [85:41] do an expansion on. And lo and behold. [85:43] Um so [85:45] the mere existence of the Shadowlands [85:47] expansion was the recon. Sure. The whole [85:50] there's a million different realms and [85:52] this realm does that and this realm does [85:53] that. And also, everything from the [85:55] Great Dark Beyond comes here when they [85:57] die. [85:58] And also, this And the biggest recon of [86:00] all was the Shadowlands is the realm of [86:03] death. Yes. [86:04] >> Shadowlands is not the realm of death. [86:06] You only have to look and I I've been [86:08] beating this drum since Shadowlands, [86:10] okay? [86:11] And people were like, "Taliesin, stop [86:13] beating this drum." [86:14] But I'm going to be proven right, okay? [86:17] >> He just loves to beat it. [86:18] >> I I I love beating it. Every day. That's [86:21] why one arm is so big. And you only have [86:24] to look at Chronicle. The Shadowlands is [86:26] shown as being part of the Great Dark [86:28] Beyond. It is part of our reality. It's [86:31] obviously death realm adjacent, but it's [86:33] not part of the death realm. [86:34] >> Why don't we have just like a giant [86:36] poster of the Chronicle like map? [86:37] >> Yeah, we we should, actually. Um, it's [86:39] [laughter] not the Shadowlands in [86:40] Chronicle and in the way it was always [86:42] presented in game was not part of the [86:44] death realm. Making it part of like just [86:47] as the Emerald Dream is not part of the [86:48] life realm. They are part of our reality [86:50] and they are reflections of Azeroth in [86:52] different states, both of them. Um, and [86:55] Shadowlands reconned that to make the [86:57] Shadowlands expansion happen. Where I [87:00] think they're going with this story [87:01] right now is they are reconning the [87:02] recon. And they're going, "Oh, [87:05] don't you wonder why the Shadowlands are [87:06] so weird?" [87:07] >> Mhm. Well, that's because it's not the [87:09] realm of death. It's a [ __ ] Titan [87:11] construct just like the [ __ ] Emerald [87:13] Dream is, okay? So, like, yes. They're [87:17] actually They're They're They're putting [87:19] the lore back to what it was before and [87:21] they're going, "Oh, the actual realm of [87:23] death? No, we've never actually been [87:24] there." So, all that [ __ ] that happened [87:25] like the Shadowlands, yeah, it's just a [87:27] weird Titan thing. And yes, that, [87:29] please. That works better. No, people [87:31] saying that's messy? No, that's good, [87:33] actually. That actually like this is a [87:35] very If this is what they're doing and [87:36] it looks certain that they are to me, [87:38] this is very good cuz Shadowlands lore [87:41] is messy. The stuff that they tried to [87:43] turn Shadowlands into is messy and [87:45] doesn't make sense. Recontextualizing it [87:47] as what it always was in the first [87:50] place, which is the death version of the [87:51] Emerald Dream, that cleans it up. That [87:54] makes it better. That like separates it [87:57] off and makes it what it should have [87:58] been all along. Like, this is this is a [88:00] reverse recon if this is indeed what [88:03] they're doing and I'm certain they are. [88:04] And that's brilliant. I love that. [88:06] That's fantastic. Of course, [88:09] Sylvanas could have maybe told us that [88:11] instead of going, [88:12] "I will tell you about it some other [88:14] time." [88:15] >> No. "I will not rest until I will not [88:18] rest I will not rest until I [88:21] I figure it out. Um, and and so what I I [88:23] I Bye. I mean, I'm very much in And I've [88:25] always been against reconning the [88:26] Shadowlands. I'm like, you can't just [88:27] recon [ __ ] whole expansions. Like, [88:29] it's there, deal with it, work around [88:31] it, work through it, you know, make it [88:33] good. [88:34] Um, and but this I do approve of because [88:37] it's actually [88:38] improving the situation, but also like [88:41] making And I've been I've been saying [88:43] this for so many years. Whenever someone [88:45] asks me about it on stream, I I pull up [88:47] the [ __ ] Chronicle [88:48] like uh, cosmos chart and I'll be like, [88:50] well, [88:51] I've always said I And And I will die on [88:54] this hill that Shadowlands [88:56] it's not actually in the realm of death. [88:58] We just need to look at it like this. [88:59] And so, all the talk about it being in [89:01] the realm Maybe they don't know. Maybe [89:02] the people in the Shadowlands think it [89:03] is realm of death, but it's not. And And [89:05] I'm just I'm just I think I'm being [89:07] vindicated here. I think I you know, I [89:10] think I I yes, this was a good call from [89:13] me for years and years and years in the [89:15] face in the face of mockery and [89:19] >> I remember. Yeah. So, like yeah. [89:22] This is where I think they're going with [89:23] it. And two, the other thing that a lot [89:25] of people are talking about is the idea [89:27] of um [89:30] death being what Xal'atath fears and [89:33] what the void fears. And this whole [89:35] thing of the void fearing death. [89:36] >> up repeatedly, doesn't it? [89:38] >> So, the first time it came up was in the [89:39] three sisters comic [89:41] leading up to BfA where, you know, [89:44] Alleria is there and she's having all of [89:45] these um [89:47] like whispers and they go [ __ ] nuts [89:50] when Sylvanas is around there. Like, [89:51] "Oh, she is the enemy of everything." [89:53] And blah blah. And they're like And [89:54] everyone, myself included, was like, [89:56] "Wow, the void is scared of of death? [89:59] Okay, why would And they haven't really [90:01] touched on that again until recently [90:03] again where the Venari line was like, [90:05] "I've been to the Shadowlands. I see [90:06] what you fear." [90:06] >> Yeah. And everyone was like, "Oh, yeah, [90:08] the [90:09] the void is scared of death." And now [90:11] with this scene between Xal'atath [90:12] clearly knows who Sylvanas is. Mhm. And [90:15] Sylvanas is like, "Death comes for [90:17] everyone, Xal'atath, even your wretched [90:20] kind." And And that [laughter] [90:22] And I [90:23] I love Xal'atath's reaction to that. [90:25] She's like, [90:27] "Ah, you are right. But also, I don't [90:30] need to do this right now." [90:31] >> know, I don't need to I'm going to go [90:32] >> go and do my plan. Is that okay? I'm I'm [90:34] in the middle of Sylvanas is is lovely. [90:36] I'm in the middle of my plan. [90:38] We'll sort this out some other time. [90:39] Let's go." [90:40] And she goes into [clears throat] the [90:40] portal, which I really love. [90:41] And [90:42] >> I do appreciate how like Sylvanas and [90:45] Xal'atath are like two, you know, iconic [90:47] queens of World of Warcraft, both like [90:49] quite devious, but like completely [90:52] different, like polar opposites. [90:53] >> Okay, do you want to hear my theory on [90:54] the whole void fears death? Yeah, tell [90:56] me about it quickly. [90:57] >> The void doesn't fear death. The void [90:59] doesn't fear death. [91:00] >> What does it fear? Sylvanas. Uh why? The [91:02] void sees every possible future. Okay. [91:06] Okay? [91:07] So, it it's seen So, Xal'atath has seen [91:10] that in every possible future, she wins [91:14] except one. [91:16] And that's the future where Sylvanas is [91:17] there. Oh, okay. [91:19] >> Okay? So, it's like Sylvanas by her very [91:22] presence in like the final battle makes [91:26] it the reality [91:28] the future, the potential future where [91:30] the void loses. Okay. Wait, what is this [91:33] gift of seeing all potential futures? Is [91:36] that That's what they've always said [91:36] about the void. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, [91:39] it's not Powerful. that the void fears, [91:42] it's Sylvanas. Not because she's like [91:45] the chosen one, okay? [91:47] It could be you you could you could make [91:49] it like the void fears red shirts, okay? [91:53] Because [91:54] in the one future they saw where they [91:56] lose, Alleria was wearing a red shirt, [91:59] okay? So, it's like it's not that red [92:01] shirts are powerful or particularly [92:03] meaningful or the chosen ones or [92:05] anything like that. It's that in the one [92:07] future where we lose, I saw you there. [92:09] So, it's not like she's not to [92:11] do anything. It's like the reason we [92:12] fear you is because your very existence [92:15] makes this thing possible and that's [92:17] losing possible. You know, she's not the [92:19] chosen one, it's just like [ __ ] saw [92:21] you there, right? [92:21] >> Okay. So, there's this thing of and that [92:24] fits in with all the lines. It fits in [92:27] with like the void going crazy when [92:28] Sylvanas turns up and people were like, [92:30] "Oh, they fear death." No, it's Sylvanas [92:32] they're talking about. And [92:35] Varissa's like [92:36] Venari, sorry, is like, "I've been to [92:39] the Maw. I've seen what you fear." And [92:41] everyone was like, "They fear death." [92:43] No, who's in the [ __ ] Maw? Sylvanas [92:46] doing her penance, right? Right. So, [92:48] like it's not death they're talking [92:50] about is my theory. Interesting. [92:52] >> It's Sylvanas specifically. [92:54] >> Specifically her. [92:55] >> She's an omen, yeah, quite quite right. [92:56] She's not the chosen one, she's an omen. [92:58] Yeah. [92:58] >> Okay. She's like the [ __ ] like, you [93:00] know, the the blackbird or the magpie in [93:02] in and like yeah, exactly. All right. I [93:04] am [93:06] You don't like it, do you? You don't [93:07] like my theory. [93:08] >> okay with [93:09] I guess it's it could be Could I'm [93:11] trying to see like how it would play out [93:13] and how it would feel. Like it creates a [93:15] lot of potential like, you know, people [93:17] are excited to see Sylvanas play out. [93:19] People are excited to see Sylvanas play [93:21] out in the sense that she will probably [93:22] die, right? Like will she Maybe like she [93:25] will expend herself one last time. And [93:27] then oh, well, you know, with so it kind [93:30] of fits in with what she said that as it [93:31] at the end as she's about to enter her [93:34] little Maw portal and she's like, "You [93:36] know, maybe I'll see you again [93:39] um [93:39] uh at at [93:41] the beginning of when it starts." I [93:43] forget [93:45] >> [laughter] [93:46] >> Or whatever [ __ ] is, yeah. [93:48] At the beginning of when Before the end. [93:50] No, no, no, she doesn't say before the [93:52] end. She says at the beginning of when [93:55] Someone give me the words. It's not as [93:57] snappy as it sounded when in the [93:58] cinematic, I have to say. [94:00] >> She says it is She says at the beginning [94:02] of the ending or something really along [94:04] those lines, which is like a nice uh [94:08] before the end begins. Thank you, God. [94:10] I'm so excited to see Cannot wait. [94:12] Before [laughter] [94:13] Before the end begins. [94:14] >> Yeah, before the end before the end [94:16] begins. I hope to see you again before [94:18] the end begins. [94:20] >> Yeah. Nice, nice. You know, the end [94:22] beginning is quite a nice [94:23] >> it's not as good as yours, but you're [94:25] refusing to do yours [laughter] right [94:26] now, so I'm having to I'm having to jump [94:27] in and save it. I'm filling it I'm [94:29] filling in. Yeah. The beginning [94:32] >> [laughter] [94:32] >> Yeah, before the end begins. And I think [94:34] that's quite Yeah, she is ushering in [94:37] the end, right? The the ending is is is [94:40] coming right? [94:41] >> Mhm. Um [94:43] So, it's a [94:45] you know, and in the sense that it will [94:46] kind of provide some maybe closure for [94:49] some characters. I think it I think it [94:50] could be interesting. But yeah, my [94:52] initial reaction, I was like, "God, [94:54] Sylvanas is here again." It was, you [94:57] know, hinted at that she will come back [94:59] at some point. Makes perfect sense that [95:01] she's there. And then I was won over by [95:03] this kind of, "Okay, we're all in on [95:06] this bigger cosmic conspiracy now. I'm [95:09] onto something. I I'm going to figure it [95:11] out. I'm not telling you anything right [95:12] now. But I know [95:14] stuff is a foot. Keep it at the front of [95:16] your mind. Do all of your dolls and [95:19] stuff, but we'll you know, we'll pick it [95:20] up soon. Yeah. [95:22] So, Yeah. It's cool. I mean, like people [95:26] people are like, "Oh, how did she get [95:28] out of the Shadowlands?" It's like, [95:29] "Well, she was always she was always in [95:30] the Maw semi-voluntarily, right?" It's [95:33] like she went to trial. [95:35] She was found guilty or whatever. And [95:37] they were like, "Tyrande, what do you [95:39] want to do with her?" And she says, [95:40] "Your penance will be to save all the [95:42] souls from the Maw." And Sylvanas jumps [95:44] in there willingly. It's like she's not [95:46] forced there, she's not bound there. [95:48] She's not like, you know, there by any [95:50] magical kind of like chains or anything [95:52] like that. You know, she can come out [95:54] the same way same way we could. You [95:56] know, the the Maw is essentially open [95:58] now. They don't send any souls there [96:00] anymore. [96:01] So, like she can she can [96:03] in theory come I I So, I I don't I'm I [96:05] have no issue with her leaving the Maw. [96:07] Mhm. I [96:09] like Tyrande's owl is probably there [96:10] like, "I [ __ ] I closed my eyes for 1 sec [96:12] I looked away for 1 second. Where'd she [96:14] [ __ ] go?" [96:15] But like, yeah, I mean, [96:18] I'm I'm fine with that personally. Yeah. [96:20] Uh so, yeah, I I I I'd be funny if like [96:23] when she opened her portal to go back to [96:25] the Shadowlands, [96:27] um [96:28] Tyrande's owl was there like, "The [ __ ] [96:30] time you call this? Excuse me. You said [96:32] you were popping out to get some milk. [96:35] Where's my [ __ ] milk?" [96:37] >> [laughter] [96:38] >> I know. I know. [96:41] Um so, yeah, you know, I I I was almost [96:43] like not ready for this cuz I'm like I'm [96:46] enjoying Silvermoon. I'm enjoying the [96:49] threat. I'm enjoying the elves. I'm [96:52] enjoying I like this. I like this world. [96:55] And then Sylvanas is kind of not of that [96:57] world. She's of something else. And I [96:59] know she's there just to you know, this [97:01] is just the ending of the cinematic [97:03] at the end of the raid and other things [97:05] will happen before she steps back in as [97:07] part of the story. [97:09] But I was like, "I'm not ready." But of [97:11] course they needed it in a big explosive [97:13] moment, didn't they? They needed it in [97:14] like an impactful moment. So, it makes [97:16] sense to do there. But I'm like, "I just [97:17] want [97:18] I'm just going to hang out in [97:19] Silvermoon. Just change the skybox [97:20] again. Just want to Just want things to [97:23] be okay for a little Oh, and then the [97:26] skybox. Okay, so like the void storm is [97:29] over. There's no beam coming down from [97:31] the sky anymore. There's no portal. Oh. [97:34] >> normal skybox. Oh, hell no. Everything's [97:36] light and sunny and nice again in [97:38] Silvermoon and there's no big crack in [97:41] the sky. There's no beam coming down. [97:43] It's just a beautiful sunny day. And now [97:46] all that lovely triumphant Silvermoon [97:48] music, ba ba [singing] [97:51] ba ba ba, all that [ __ ] [97:53] You really feel like you've earned it in [97:55] the city now. It's really good. It went [97:57] all dark and spooky for a while and then [97:59] you fought through. And like you've seen [98:01] three different iterations of that big [98:02] hole in the sky and now it's gone. And [98:04] you do genuinely feel like you I was [98:06] walking around there and I was like, [98:08] "I did this." You did that. [98:10] >> pretty awesome. [98:11] >> Yeah, I like that. Yeah. [98:13] That's so cool. And And like actually it [98:15] does feel really really good, that bit. [98:16] But um yeah, I [98:19] I don't hate the Sylvanas thing. [98:22] But two things can be true at the same [98:23] time. And like actually three things can [98:26] be true at the same time. I don't hate [98:27] it. [98:28] I thought like the lore stuff was very [98:30] fun to talk about and I appreciate that [98:33] kind of [ __ ] Definitely. [98:35] But also, I think it's the dumbest [98:36] [ __ ] [ __ ] I've ever seen in my life. [98:37] >> [laughter] [98:38] >> I just wasn't ready for it. I just [98:40] wasn't ready. [98:40] >> Like And And I know And I know Sylvanas [98:42] is a Windrunner sister. This has been [98:44] crucial. I just thought it was the [98:46] dumbest [ __ ] [ __ ] Everyone's talking [98:47] about her all the time. [98:50] We've been going to Windrunner Spire. [98:52] We've done the story with Lirath. We've [98:54] done We've You know, we're It's like [98:56] Windrunner town here. We literally are [98:57] in Windrunner town. [98:59] >> And you know, maybe maybe that maybe [99:02] this will be part of like [99:04] Sylvanas [99:05] I think they need to [99:08] free Sylvanas from yeah, the negative [99:10] connotations she carries from [99:12] Shadowlands. As be you know, I feel like [99:15] this is [99:15] >> a little bit of sick in your stomach [99:17] though because it reminds you so much of [99:18] Shadowlands? [99:19] >> Yes, of course. When she came out [99:20] >> feet are like there's like the black and [99:22] I'm like I was like getting like this is [99:23] giving me some emotions I've been locked [99:25] away for a while. [99:27] >> if this is a thing but her I think feel [99:29] like her model looks crazy. Her face is [99:32] like [99:34] I will save you before the beginning of [99:36] the end. I'm going to say this [99:38] >> her and then it gets to Sylvanas [99:40] Sylvanas has like teeth and she's got [99:43] like she's got like mobile eyes and [99:45] she's like [99:47] rolling her you know and [99:49] maybe cuz she is kind of dead you know. [99:53] Maybe it's cuz Sylvanas is is like in [99:55] the Maw and um but her seeing her like [100:00] the style of her [100:03] character her face her model I was like [100:07] ah [100:08] No. Do you know yeah. Yes. So [100:11] I'm going to say this one time and one [100:13] time only okay people are mentioning it [100:15] in the chat. [100:16] >> Okay. Um [100:19] Sylvanas is not [100:21] doing what she's doing in the Maw [100:24] for redemption. [100:25] She's doing it for penance which are two [100:28] very different things okay penance and [100:30] redemption okay ask any priest player [100:32] two very different abilities okay like [100:35] redemption means you make up for the [100:39] thing. Okay and set it right. Okay. [100:42] Penance means you pay for it and you [100:45] serve your time. Okay. So like you know [100:49] when you put someone in jail you're not [100:51] making things right. It doesn't undo the [100:53] crime they did. They're serving their [100:55] punishment right. Whereas if you if you [100:58] make someone build something or like you [101:00] know I don't know I don't know what like [101:02] the the redemption would be but like [101:04] Sylvanas is not doing what she's doing [101:07] for redemption. [101:08] She doesn't want redemption. And people [101:10] don't need to consider her redeemed. [101:13] Like penance you know it's like [101:16] you would you don't have to forgive [101:17] someone who committed a crime to accept [101:20] that when they've done their time in [101:21] prison their time is served and they [101:23] should be let out right like and and and [101:26] you don't have to forgive them you don't [101:27] have to they don't have to be redeemed [101:30] but they have served their penance. [101:32] Yeah. And and like that's that's what's [101:35] I mean that's the literal word Sylvanas [101:37] uses right and she said at the time [101:38] >> I'm doing my penance. I don't want to [101:39] have this conversation like every single [101:41] time we talk about this I know she's I'm [101:43] not talking about any comment in [101:44] particular cuz I've lots of people [101:45] saying it and you know it's just like [101:47] but there's never been any suggestion [101:49] that she would be redeemed. She she says [101:52] the words in Shadowlands there is no [101:53] redemption for me. [101:55] Um [101:56] even when the whole soul thing was [101:57] revealed right and and and you know like [102:01] it her kind of penance in the Maw her [102:04] atonement has never been framed as [102:06] redemption. It's always been framed as [102:09] this is your punishment. [102:10] >> Mhm. You know [102:12] like which is is different. It's [102:14] different. Yeah. It's like You are not [102:15] redeemed via your penance. [102:17] >> Exactly. [102:18] >> Like you you know that's a whole that's [102:20] a whole other thing yeah. Yeah so this [102:22] is not a Sylvanas redemption arc like [102:24] she never has to be redeemed. [102:25] >> Mhm. In order to still be an interesting [102:27] and and meaningful character. Like you [102:29] know it's like yeah it just doesn't need [102:31] to be. Mhm. And I don't think she will [102:32] be. Yeah. So yeah there we go. She's [102:37] certainly have to do a bit more than [102:38] turn up and save two people to be [102:39] redeemed I think. Yeah. Um you know and [102:42] then talking like she took part in the [102:43] fight [102:44] >> Yeah. [102:46] No she didn't. No I don't [102:49] >> glad I showed up? [102:50] >> [laughter] [102:51] >> Peace. Bye. And I will go into more [102:55] details on all of that stuff in the [102:56] cinematic analysis which I [102:57] >> to go into more details? [102:59] Yeah. [103:00] >> [laughter] [103:01] >> Sorry. [103:02] Easy. Yeah but that's you know I I again [103:05] I think a lot about what other people [103:06] think that yes clearly the Shadowlands [103:08] is some kind of Titan construct. [103:10] There there is suggestion in the [103:12] original lore the Titans did create the [103:14] Emerald Dream. There's been suggestion [103:15] they kind of took it over since then but [103:17] you can you can say that the Titans have [103:20] a strong influence on the Emerald Dream [103:21] as well so they've created these two [103:23] mirrors of Azeroth one full of life one [103:26] full of [103:27] death [103:28] >> Mhm. both of them outside the realms of [103:30] life and death. [103:31] >> Mhm. And you got to think to yourself [103:32] well why are the Titans doing that? Is [103:34] it to stop people going to the realms of [103:37] life and death? [103:37] >> Mhm. It's like before they get there [103:39] they get to the Emerald Dream or they [103:40] get to the [103:41] you know like what would happen to the [103:42] lower uh if if if like or to souls if [103:47] there was no Shadowlands and they went [103:48] to the realm of death the realm of death [103:50] would get more powerful. Mhm. You know [103:52] so is is that like in the same way that [103:55] um [103:57] Odin created uh [104:00] like his kind of [104:02] halls of valor and stuff to basically [104:04] intercept souls before they went to the [104:07] the Shadowlands [104:08] >> Mhm. is that basically what the [104:09] Shadowlands is to intercept souls before [104:11] they go to the realm of death and make [104:13] that realm more powerful. It's like [104:15] we're creating the Emerald Dream so that [104:17] you know [104:19] the life realm doesn't get more powerful [104:21] because we're kind of keeping this stuff [104:23] for ourselves [104:23] >> Mhm. [104:24] Um [104:25] and yeah I I think it could be something [104:27] to do with [104:29] basically [104:30] we're creating a [ __ ] iron dome round [104:33] the reality basically to stop stuff [104:34] getting out cuz we're going to keep it [104:35] all for ourselves I think something like [104:37] that [104:37] >> That's interesting. I don't know that's [104:38] vague isn't it but yeah. You have a [104:39] think about that. In the meantime let's [104:41] do our super chats. [104:42] >> Yeah. [104:43] Um but there we have it. That is the [104:46] Yeah so that's that's where I'm leaning. [104:48] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah well. [104:52] There's a lot to do [104:53] >> Yeah I like that I like that yeah. And [104:55] then but that's it's interesting that [104:56] when Odin [104:57] if that is what's happening then Odin [104:59] did the same thing he like played by the [105:01] Titan like playbook almost when he made [105:05] uh you know like the halls of valor. So [105:07] yeah I I I could buy it. I could buy it. [105:10] Yeah. [105:11] Anyway. So super chats. Let's jump into [105:14] our super chats. Thank you guys for [105:15] everyone who has been dropping super [105:17] chats. We appreciate it. Let's get [105:20] Pan Yacht thank you so much our first [105:22] one. Hi guys I started playing wow [105:24] halfway through Shadowlands and you guys [105:26] have been by far the best source of wow [105:27] news slash lore speculation out there. [105:30] Thank you Pan Yacht that's really nice. [105:32] >> They wrote that before I just said all [105:33] the [ __ ] I've been saying so maybe they [105:34] don't think that anymore. [105:36] Cuz I saw some people also being like [105:38] why is every why is every saying down on [105:40] Shadowlands? Why does everybody hate [105:42] Sylvanas? I'm like I don't I don't I [105:44] just I there are things I loved about [105:46] about Shadowlands. I loved Bastion. I [105:49] thought Bastion was super fun. I thought [105:51] Maldraxxus was super I enjoyed elements [105:54] of Shadowlands like a great deal. Like [105:56] the aesthetics of Shadowlands was great [105:57] as well gameplay wise yeah. You know the [105:59] the Venthyr like the the aesthetics and [106:02] the cultures like within the Shadowlands [106:04] I loved many things about it. But the [106:07] the story became strange [106:11] hulking [106:12] just mess. Yeah because It just became [106:15] weird. The lore didn't make sense. [106:16] >> Yeah and there's just some yeah there's [106:19] some yeah the lore didn't make any [106:20] sense. It was but so yeah I'm not [106:23] nagging on that. Um and you already know [106:26] my opinion on Sylvanas so I think she's [106:28] like a super camp queen so [106:29] >> Oh yeah love Sylvanas. Yeah it's [106:31] absolutely outrageous. Um anyway next [106:34] one is from Mr. Brightside thank you Mr. [106:36] Brightside. Hey guys currently main a [106:38] shadow priest nice. And this whole [106:40] expansion feels like I'm chasing my [106:42] ex-wife for child support money for my [106:44] thing from beyond. [106:47] Yeah. I love that. [106:48] >> were still called there by the light [106:49] that's the thing and Lotharion does have [106:51] that line about that right he's talking [106:55] cuz you do you do got this line as well [106:56] where he's talking about how much he [106:57] hates Umbric and he's like we can't let [106:59] Umbric here doing whatever [ __ ] Umbric [107:00] wants. He's a void look at how voidy he [107:02] is [ __ ] him. And then you go you have [107:04] this you have this option to ask you [107:06] like well Lotharion you know I use the [107:08] void Yeah. And I'm standing there like [107:09] having tentacles and [ __ ] where like [107:11] N'Zoth eyes and stuff all over me like [107:13] Lotharion did did you know that I use [107:15] the void as well? Yeah yeah. Makes the [107:17] good point he's like you were summoned [107:19] by the light. [107:20] >> Mhm. Like whatever The light influence [107:22] you have A I know you and I've worked [107:24] with you and you've proven yourself but [107:26] B like you were summoned here Umbric was [107:28] not. Like he just [ __ ] rocks up which [107:30] is a good point honestly. Yeah. [107:32] >> [laughter] [107:32] >> Yeah. You know so it's like I trust you [107:35] but I don't trust that [ __ ] [107:36] Yeah. He wasn't summoned by the by the [107:38] light right? So I get it and also I [107:42] still don't think he would have [107:44] destroyed Silvermoon by destroying the [107:46] the Nexus point. We've still only got [107:48] that that Domina's like word on that. [107:51] Yeah. You know the Domina well known for [107:53] telling the truth right? [107:54] >> Mhm. Oh my goodness don't let him [107:56] destroy that it'll destroy all of [107:58] Silvermoon. Oh say no more Domina who's [108:00] been already proven to be manipulating [108:02] us throughout this entire questline. [108:03] Let's go and kill our mate then. [108:05] >> Do exactly what you want me to do. Yeah. [108:09] Anyway thank you for that one. Next one [108:11] is from SSM [108:13] Devil. Thank you so much me equals the [108:16] Shawn the Shawn lovely to see you. Hey [108:19] the Shawn absolute legend thank you. [108:20] Just a hello always a pleasure to listen [108:22] watch y'all cheers. Oh thank you. [108:24] Thank you so much. Cheers mate thank [108:26] you. I really appreciate that lovely to [108:28] see you here too. And next one is from [108:30] Goldtooth. Lovely lovely Goldtooth also [108:34] dropping some subs on Twitch. You guys [108:37] are playing both fields. I love bits. I [108:40] love to see this thank you. After [108:42] reading the Blizzard April Fools post we [108:44] all need wine. Yeah. Vodka and whiskey [108:46] and a nap. Yeah this this April Fools [108:49] post made me feel old. [108:50] >> Oh yeah so so The kind of the dread the [108:53] like you know existential dread of the [108:55] housing bit the the tease of getting [108:59] roleplay things but not cuz apparently [109:02] roleplay is a joke to them and then the [109:04] um [109:05] the like the Gen Z [109:08] slang section really I'm like I need I [109:10] need recovery time. But thank you. I [109:13] agree gold tooth. Absolutely. [109:15] >> [laughter] [109:16] >> Thank you so much. Next one from Moxie. [109:20] I'd like a warm out like toggle. [109:23] That makes the world more neutral mob [109:25] filled with no loot for our peers to get [109:27] new places in the world to RP. [109:30] Now. The bad thing about that is. [109:33] That someone like me who doesn't RP but [109:35] likes playing on RP servers so that I [109:37] can see like so there are people I don't [109:39] send watch but there are people RPing [109:41] around the place which I think makes the [109:43] world just better and like so if that [109:45] would be great for role players but it [109:46] would suck for me who like having role [109:48] players around like kind of you know [109:51] populate the world with more people and [109:53] enriching the world so. [109:55] >> Speaking of did you know that Magister's [109:56] Terrace is now like open you can like [109:58] literally just walk in there and and [109:59] just hang out there. Yeah. It's really [110:01] cool. It's really good. It's a good life [110:02] hack. Even even the actual like [110:04] void dark well as well. [110:06] >> Yeah. So you can just hang out in there. [110:08] Speaking of RP. It's really cool [110:09] actually yeah and and like there is an [110:10] open like I say skybox so there's not [110:12] like this really noisy [110:15] anymore. It's like it is just it it's [110:17] just Silvermoon now. It's just like it's [110:19] a city now. It's like yeah it's cool. [110:21] Another one from Moxie. Thank you. If [110:24] you didn't get invited you didn't get [110:25] invited into the Arcanina. Arator did. [110:28] You just followed him in and it would [110:29] have been too awkward for them to ask [110:30] you to leave. It's true. [110:32] I haven't done any of their quests yet. [110:34] I never did. [110:35] Oh I make sure I do it every week cuz I [110:37] don't want to have to catch up [110:38] and just in case someone disappear and [110:40] stuff like that and then I don't want to [110:41] be waiting for the quest I haven't done [110:42] to come around and like same with the [110:44] Harren ear like I love the Harren ear [110:46] lore quests but you miss a week there's [110:48] no catch up. Yeah. Like it's just [110:50] [clears throat] going to take you an [110:50] extra week to finish it so I have to [110:52] make sure I do those and I always always [110:53] glad when I do cuz I think they're so [110:55] good. Yeah. And the last I the one I did [110:57] recently which was like a lamp it was so [111:00] good people hearing the song and stuff [111:02] ah like there's such good quests they're [111:04] really really good. All right I'll do [111:06] them. [111:07] Thank you. [111:08] Next one is from the Jay Scribe. Thank [111:11] you for the super chat. Given the new [111:13] cinematic do you think your predictions [111:14] around Sylvanas that she'll die [111:16] defending Silvermoon will still come to [111:18] pass? It seems like a huge miss for a [111:20] satisfying arc if not. I think she'll [111:22] die. Ah. [111:24] I don't think she'll die specifically [111:26] defending Silvermoon. So like she she's [111:29] done defending Silvermoon now even [111:31] though she [ __ ] didn't. But like. [111:33] That like. [111:35] They need [111:36] ranger general one more time. [111:38] >> One last time. [111:39] >> yeah that's why we asked for Halford. [111:41] And Halford wasn't there. Halford was [111:43] there. Halford actually took part in the [111:45] fight. [111:45] >> Hello. [111:46] Like we had our ranger general. He was [111:49] he was [ __ ] there. Hello. He actually [111:53] came when we asked him to. [111:56] [ __ ] with you. [111:58] So. [111:59] My boy Halford. She's so insane. I love [112:02] it. She just walked in and she's like. [112:04] So no I I don't think she will die [112:06] specifically in defense of Silvermoon [112:08] but she could still die. Like but it for [112:10] me it was the beautiful symmetry and the [112:12] beautiful kind of squaring of the circle [112:16] of you know she is Sylvanas as we know [112:19] her because she failed A failed to [112:21] protect her home B wasn't allowed to die [112:25] get turned into a banshee instead. So [112:27] successfully defending her home and [112:29] being allowed to die would be beautiful [112:32] symmetry but that's not what happened [112:33] now and then. [112:34] I'm not saying what will happen is bad [112:35] but. We shall see. [112:38] Next one is from George Howard. Thank [112:40] you for the super chat. Approximately [112:42] how loud was your gasp during the post [112:43] march cinematic? Mine was more of a [112:45] groan but it was also like [112:49] I went through like many emotions. Yeah. [112:51] I don't know [112:52] I really enjoyed it. I thought it was I [112:54] thought it was super fun outrageously [112:56] over the top. [112:57] >> It was so dumb. [112:58] >> It was so outrageously over the top. [113:01] But it gave people some people what they [113:03] needed right? [113:04] >> I feel like it could have been done but [113:05] not so dumb. I feel like if you're doing [113:07] it you have to put she has to be she has [113:11] to flounce in. She has to claim like you [113:14] know she has to basically miss with the [113:16] arrow. She has to say she's the ranger [113:18] general even though like you say Halford [113:20] was there. She has to have this like she [113:22] has the female equivalent of like [113:24] machismo whatever that is like she's you [113:26] know. [113:26] >> I I tell you what I tell you what it [113:28] was. I think it's because like. [113:32] Arator and [113:34] uh. [113:35] Marisa being in danger. [113:38] Was so. [113:40] Out of nowhere. Mhm. [113:42] >> They weren't in danger. They were out of [113:44] the fight. [113:44] >> Sure maybe there's there's something [113:45] missing there clearly. [113:47] >> and and like suddenly they're in danger [113:49] and like that's the thing they're being [113:50] saved from and it's like no they were [113:52] never in danger. They were never part of [113:54] this fight. They weren't in any peril at [113:56] all. You know it's it's like I don't I [114:00] don't see the connection between us [114:02] beating Lurra which is what happens. [114:04] Mhm. And then. [114:06] That results in Zalathas being about to [114:08] kill those two. There's no connection it [114:11] doesn't like there's no doesn't make [114:12] sense for me that's like such a [114:14] disconnect. [114:14] >> Mhm. [114:16] That's what makes Sylvanas coming in and [114:17] saving them so dumb is because actually [114:19] them being in danger is the dumb thing. [114:21] I get what you mean. There's a little [114:22] bit of a. Yeah there's for me there's a [114:25] huge disconnect there. There's no hint [114:26] that they were in danger. I don't see. [114:28] >> Maybe you just missed something. [114:29] >> see the cause and effect of us beating [114:31] Lurra and then. [114:33] Oh because we did this that means [114:35] Zalathas can kill these two. It doesn't [114:37] make any sense. I get I get what you [114:39] mean. Like. For me yeah interesting. [114:42] Okay I'll have to play through it and [114:43] see see what is there. [114:45] Thank you for that one. Next one is from [114:47] John Angel Angelmo. So I have to ask do [114:51] you both wear pants while you live [114:52] stream? You probably saw my knee at some [114:54] point cuz I sit like this sometime. [114:55] There you go. I'm wearing pants. I too [114:58] wear pants. I'm I'm afraid only when we [115:00] live stream only because we're in the [115:02] room at the same time together and the [115:03] temptation otherwise would be just too [115:05] much. [115:07] But when I'm here by myself sometimes I [115:08] don't. I'll just I'll show off my pants [115:10] while I'm here cuz I'M WEARING PANTS. [115:14] WHALEBONE corduroy tweed trousers today. [115:17] >> All right granddad. Yeah. They're all [115:20] right granddad they're pretty nice. [115:21] Anyway sorry sorry if you're listening [115:23] to this on Spotify [115:27] oh people complaining that wasn't on. [115:29] Yes I know thank yes I know I've had a [115:31] busy week thank you. [115:32] >> been very busy sorry. We'll be with you [115:34] but [115:35] these episodes will be up tomorrow for [115:36] sure. Sorry and I I just want to say [115:38] actually that has cleared it up in my [115:40] head. That's the problem I was having [115:41] with it the cinematic is that. How did [115:43] we get there? There's no cause and [115:45] effect like. [115:47] Us fighting Lurra and defeating Lurra [115:51] seems completely disconnected from oh so [115:53] now Zalathas can kill these two. It just [115:55] doesn't make any like yeah that's the [115:57] issue I'm having that's my problem with [115:58] the cinematic. Thank you for allowing me [115:59] to talk through that thank you. [116:01] >> go. [116:02] It's like therapy. And next one is from [116:04] Tanazir. Thank you so much for the super [116:06] chat it's amazing. What do you think of [116:08] the idea of Blizz adding a world [116:10] criteria to the seasonal achievement? [116:12] For example season one champion of the [116:14] dawn so you could do something like [116:17] reach level 10 in Delver's Journey slash [116:19] Preyseekers to complete the achievement. [116:21] Oh I see what you're saying. Yeah yeah. [116:24] I think that makes sense. Any [116:25] achievements with rewards for [116:26] progressing through basically anything [116:27] I'm into. [116:28] >> content yeah. Yeah yeah [116:30] I love that idea. Oh the the little [116:31] dopamine hits I get I hits I get every [116:34] time I like complete something in the [116:35] traveler's log or I complete something [116:37] on the endeavor list like just by doing [116:38] stuff out in the world feels good. [116:40] >> Yeah and you get a lot of that as you [116:41] kind of progressing through mythic plus [116:42] and stuff as well and getting those and [116:44] getting all mats and [ __ ] popping it's [116:45] nice. I I I like that idea. I think it [116:48] would be cool. [116:48] >> Yeah. Make sense. [116:50] Thank you Tanazir that's lovely. Next [116:52] one is from disappointed Buddha. [116:55] Why does Sylvanas look like she got all [116:57] her buccal fat removed and transferred [116:59] to her lips? She looks like she got DLS [117:01] five filter thrown on her. Thank you. [117:04] >> [sighs and gasps] [117:05] >> It's just the contrast between her and [117:08] Zalathas. [117:09] >> The very expressive and they they are [117:11] like. [117:12] Making Zalathas more kind of like less [117:15] less less yas if I can say that to be [117:18] honest they're kind of like making her a [117:19] bit more grotesque gradually. [117:21] >> Yeah [117:22] yeah I wouldn't say she's grotesque but. [117:23] I don't mean grotesque as in [117:24] unattractive I mean grotesque as in like [117:27] a grotesque. [117:28] >> She's not posing so much anymore. She's [117:30] not like giving us face. Well she's not [117:33] trying to get. [117:35] She doesn't need to get anything out of [117:36] us like [117:38] Zalathas mask lifted the moment she [117:40] stabbed Alleria. Yeah yeah. She doesn't [117:45] need she doesn't need to keep up any [117:46] pretense with any of us anymore. You [117:48] know there's that thing of like she was [117:50] playing a game the game is over. Now [117:52] she's just like [ __ ] it [ __ ] you guys. [117:55] >> and you see that in her face whereas [117:57] Sylvanas is a banshee she's been in this [118:00] banshee form for quite a while she's [118:01] been dead for a while. Her face is [118:03] unmoving and you never see her teeth. I [118:05] don't know why this like it's just weird [118:07] to me. [118:10] They're Exactly maybe they're saving it [118:13] for like a big reveal or there's [118:14] something really horrific but [118:16] yeah I like something [118:19] yeah. Yeah her their face looks wild [118:22] but I guess that's part of maybe that's [118:24] part of the effect. [118:25] Anyway I'm glad I'm not alone in this [118:27] assessment. [118:28] Next one is from Jay Smithy lovely to [118:31] see you. Hello you lovely individuals. [118:33] Do you think the void actually fears the [118:35] Titans? Yeah it could be. Since [118:37] Shadowlands is supposed to be a Titan [118:39] construct they fear death. I don't think [118:43] I think the void fear anything. Like I [118:46] think the void you know it's like. [118:49] Do you fear cars if you look both ways [118:52] before you. No they're not like. It's [118:54] like you're wary of them. It's like you [118:56] know they can do you damage but say you [118:58] fear them. It's like no I don't fear [119:00] them cuz I know if I do look both ways [119:02] before I cross the street, if I take the [119:04] if I take the necessary precautions [119:07] like the cars cars aren't going to hurt [119:09] me, right? And I feel like that's the [119:10] void with everything basically. Yeah, [119:12] the void like the void isn't sitting [119:13] there having a chat about like what [119:15] they're afraid of. [119:16] >> naive enough to think that nothing can [119:18] hurt them. No. But they're like I just [119:20] don't think you will. Yeah. [119:22] I'm going to I'm going to do everything [119:23] in my power to make sure you don't stop [119:24] Exactly. Why would I would she? [119:27] Um but yeah, great. Thank you for that [119:28] one. Uh next one is from Powder Gem. I [119:32] think Sylvanas' moment came too soon for [119:34] me. I it really feels like she should be [119:36] the very last person to swoop in, but I [119:38] think it really shows how alone Zal [119:40] really is. That's a really good point. [119:42] Thanks for the stream. That's a really [119:44] good point, Powder Gem. Zal's half is [119:46] alone in all [clears throat] of this. [119:49] She has no allies. Like she literally [119:52] just has some armies that she bosses [119:54] around. [119:55] >> Yeah. And she gets them to do what she [119:57] wants, but she [119:58] Oh, this is a really good point. She is [120:01] extremely alone. Um [120:03] whereas we have the power of friendship. [120:07] And and and [120:09] like a political allyship. Yeah, [120:11] exactly. We have the power of friendship [120:13] like relationships of like political [120:15] convenience. [120:17] Zal's half has nothing when you think [120:19] about it. [120:20] >> Don't you think she likes it that way [120:21] though? Of course she she loves it. But [120:24] you know, like makes you think like [120:26] what's her goal? Well, [120:28] she just wants [120:29] >> She wants the world's She wants the [120:30] world's soul. [120:32] Maybe cuz she wants to make a friend. [120:33] >> Yeah. Maybe that's she wants the world's [120:35] soul to be her friend. [120:37] Her whole [120:39] Like her whole thing is like the world's [120:41] soul will be born. [120:42] >> Yeah. And she's going to be my BFF. So I [120:44] I I think something actually that a lot [120:46] of people will have missed [120:47] [clears throat] from the cinematic is [120:48] that [120:50] Zal's half doesn't just disappear. She [120:52] travels down through the dark well. [120:54] >> she goes in there. And that's very [120:55] important. [120:56] I think it would have been good to see [120:58] other things traveling down into the [120:59] dark well. That's what I expected. Mhm. [121:02] You know, and I didn't get it at the end [121:02] of the fight and I didn't get it [121:05] in the cinematic was I think the idea is [121:09] lots of stuff has just been transferred [121:11] through the dark well. Like lots of like [121:13] voidy baddies and now Zal's half as [121:16] well. And I feel like maybe that wasn't [121:18] clear to a lot of people. That's Yeah, [121:20] but that's a That's a good point [121:21] actually. But she she just goes like I [121:23] think that could be made a little bit [121:24] more explicit. [121:25] >> Yeah. Yeah. Uh but yeah, this has got me [121:27] thinking about how yeah, how Zal's half [121:30] has always been a solo operator, but she [121:31] is like purely alone. Like no one [121:33] respects her. No one like [121:36] you know, [121:36] like looks up to you know, people don't [121:39] follow her. She just Well, no. [121:42] >> Well, she had the Twilight's Blade, but [121:44] they're all you know. [121:45] >> Twilight's Blade and also the Shadow [121:47] Guard. Like I mean in Kresh there's [121:49] literal encampments of Zal's half [121:52] worshipers. Oh yeah, they're [121:53] But like but it's all quite hollow. [121:56] Anyway, it's it's kind of got me [121:57] thinking about this. Anyway, thank you. [121:58] >> Isn't the void well just a hole? If you [122:00] you can run into the dark well after the [122:02] raid once it's been completed [122:04] cuz it all of that's just open. You can [122:06] just go in [122:07] and the dark well's there and I ran into [122:09] it and you start swimming for about half [122:10] a second before you die. [122:12] But you do start swimming. You're like [122:14] and then you die. Just kills you. Yeah. [122:17] >> [laughter] [122:18] >> Did she go down or up? She went down. [122:20] >> down. [122:23] Uh next one is from the Mars Art [122:25] Groupie. Lovely to see you. Hate my [122:27] anxiety. Sylvanas mentions a price for [122:29] returning and I'm like did Nathanos [122:31] sacrifice himself? [122:33] >> [laughter] [122:34] >> That'd be so funny. Oh no. [122:36] She didn't so much say that there was a [122:38] price because that would have made me [122:39] think of that as well. She says it takes [122:41] its toll. So that does specify [122:43] specifically to her, doesn't it? Uh no, [122:46] no. The toll could be taken [122:48] >> No, it's not I have to pay a toll. It's [122:49] it's takes its toll. [122:51] >> its toll on [122:53] I don't know. I think it's pretty open. [122:55] Nothing indicated that. Why am I like [122:56] this? Oh [laughter] my [122:58] I love how your brain went there. [123:00] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [123:01] I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I [123:01] I I I I I I I kind of like it. I kind of [123:03] like it. [123:04] And the last one is from Moxen. Maybe [123:07] Sylvanas will take over Ennares' body to [123:09] replace her own rotting corpse and kick [123:11] Zally out. [123:13] I wonder where Ennares' soul is [123:15] mentally. Ennares is Zal's half's like [123:18] body giver. [123:19] >> we killed [123:20] in in the BFA quest. You did that. [123:22] You did that. [123:23] >> It was me. Well, you too. Yeah, I did [123:25] that. [123:26] >> [laughter] [123:26] >> But you know. [123:27] Um ooh. Uh yeah, I mean that could be [123:30] cool. I I feel like Sylvanas could get a [123:32] new body anytime she wanted. She doesn't [123:34] really want a new body. No, she wants [123:35] she wants She's okay with with Nathanos [123:38] having a new body who also happens to be [123:39] his cousin. But for her she's just like [123:42] nah like [123:44] have you seen me? Yeah. [123:47] Seen how hot I am? Um but yeah, and I do [123:51] love I do love the idea of seeing Zal's [123:52] half's true form at some point. Like [123:54] that's definitely got to be [123:56] got to be on the cards. [123:57] >> sure she even has a true form though. [123:59] >> She's just Even if it's like horrible [124:01] energy. We've seen her as a mortal. [124:02] We've seen her as like a void being in [124:05] the flashback quests. I have no doubt I [124:07] have no doubt that like she does look [124:09] like something now. Like when when we [124:11] fight her there'll be a part of the [124:13] fight where she turns into some big [124:14] tentacley thing, right? For sure. Yeah. [124:16] >> But like a really nasty one. And also I [124:19] think you know, it's pretty much on the [124:20] cards that Nathanos is going to pop up [124:21] at some point as well. So [124:23] yeah, I'm I'm I'm really really [124:25] interested as to where the story's going [124:27] to go next. I think the next patch [124:31] you know, I mean we're all looking at [124:32] the Isle of Fangs. That seems to be [124:33] setting up quite heavily [124:36] and uh Utech [124:38] um and that big island off the off the [124:40] coast of [124:41] you know, that seems to me pretty [124:44] explicitly being set up as a [124:45] as a new [124:47] um patch zone which seems to be point [124:49] one. [124:51] Uh [124:51] hot tip, if you want to explore that [124:54] island Oh. don't go on a shaman and do [124:57] farsight. That's boring. Go into the [124:59] Windrunner Spire dungeon because the [125:01] Windrunner Spire dungeon recreates [125:04] all of [125:06] uh the [125:07] midnight zones as part of its just view [125:11] from the spire. So you can then jump off [125:13] of the spire, land in the sea, swim It's [125:17] going to take you a while. Swim to the [125:19] island of Utech where it there's nothing [125:22] to push you out cuz they didn't think [125:23] anyone would do it and you can just walk [125:25] around and have a little explore if you [125:26] like. [125:27] Very nice. [125:29] >> That's the kind of thing you want to do. [125:30] >> might have to do that. It won't be long [125:31] before you're exploring it just as the [125:33] game intended anyway, but if you really [125:34] want to [125:36] give it a go. Needle hot [125:38] tip, Tally. [laughter] Thank you. Yeah, [125:40] always the whole Eastern Kingdoms in the [125:41] Windrunner dungeon. That's awesome. [125:43] Yeah. [125:45] Right. Um yeah, so there we are. Thank [125:47] you to everyone who [125:48] jumped in with the super chat there. [125:50] Much appreciated. Thank you to everyone [125:51] who joined in this chat about the [125:54] cinematic. [125:55] Can I just get some reactions to the [125:56] cinematic in chat real quick? Like uh [125:59] Yeah. Say something. Positive, negative. [126:01] Just suggest whether you thought it was [126:02] good or not. Good, bad. [126:05] I'm seeing you know [126:07] very clearly mixed. Generally the [126:08] reactions to the void spire cinematic [126:10] were very good. I thought it was like [126:11] clever. There was a really good payoff. [126:14] Uh [126:16] generally I'm seeing people not so [126:18] thrilled with this one and it's very [126:19] easy to see why. Yeah, of course. [126:21] There's a character with a lot of [126:23] baggage. Like you know. And there's [126:25] there was lots of things that I really [126:26] liked about it and lots Well, just [126:28] seeing [126:29] the Rissa in a cinematic She's so [126:34] pretty. [126:34] >> Yeah. Like I like her. She's waited so [126:37] long to be in a cinematic. [126:39] >> And it was so good That was like [126:40] honestly my favorite part of it was [126:41] seeing her in it. I was like yeah, [126:44] that's the Windrunner I want to see in [126:45] this cinematic. [126:46] >> with Sylvanas. I thought that was the [126:47] best the best part of it. I thought it [126:49] was good. [126:50] Um It was okay, kind of short. [126:53] It's a raid ending cinematic which means [126:56] it has to like it has to be short enough [126:59] so that loot is still rollable by the [127:02] time you finish watching it. And this [127:03] isn't even a joke. Like it can't be too [127:06] long because you have to be able to [127:08] watch it in its entirety and then still [127:11] be able to roll on the loot when you [127:12] come out of it. Like [127:15] I know it sounds stupid, but that's like [127:17] a genuine consideration. [127:20] >> [laughter] [127:21] >> Like that is that's a genuine [127:23] confinement you have with raid ending [127:24] cinematics. [127:26] >> [laughter] [127:29] >> Yeah. All right. [127:31] Uh thank you guys and thank you to [127:32] everyone who joined us on this unusual [127:35] day to be recording. Glad to see so many [127:38] of you turn out for it. It's much [127:39] appreciated. Thank you to 100% not [127:42] Thundaz. Thank you for that and jumping [127:44] in with the last one. Hey fam, have [127:46] popped in and out when the conversation [127:47] felt safe from spoilers. [127:49] >> Appreciate you, Thundaz. Thank you. [127:50] >> Thanks for the incredible content. [127:51] Looking forward to watching this [127:52] episode. [127:53] >> Yeah, and and like cinematic analysis [127:55] will be coming out soon as well and I [127:57] won't put any spoilers in the um [128:00] thumbnail for that because you know, you [128:02] don't want it, do you? Let's not. Yeah, [128:04] not before story mode. And then the [128:05] second story mode hits, that thumbnail [128:06] is going to be spoiler [128:08] just so you know. [128:09] >> [laughter] [128:10] >> Um so yeah, I like but I'm all in all [128:13] and I know there's one more kind of [128:15] campaign chapter to go [128:17] where presumably we're sorting out the [128:19] dark well, right? [128:20] But [128:21] yeah, I I think I think Midnight has [128:24] been [128:25] an absolute top shelf expansion so far. [128:27] I have to say. I feel like what a great [128:30] opening. Like this the stakes were high. [128:34] All the story felt very immediate. You [128:36] know, I always knew where I was with the [128:38] story and what was going on and what the [128:39] stakes were. And yeah, it felt like a [128:42] big invasion by the end and that we were [128:44] fighting for our lives. I just There was [128:46] a lot that I really have loved about [128:49] Midnight. [128:50] >> so far. Same. I've I've had such a good [128:52] time in Midnight like both in terms of [128:54] mechanically like systems wise. [128:56] >> Yeah. It's felt like, you know, pretty [128:58] good. [128:59] Um, and the story and the story rollout [129:03] has been really neat. I've been having a [129:04] good time. [129:04] >> Yeah. Um, [129:06] jury is still open on the whole like [129:08] difficulty thing. We'll have to come [129:10] back on that one. But yeah, uh, so thank [129:12] you for joining us um, for this [129:13] discussion. We'll be back next week with [129:16] another podcast. That'll be on Thursday.
