What's up everybody? Damon here and for
today's daily fix, we have new Xbox Game
Pass games for June and more Xbox
studios on the chopping block. This is
your daily fix.
Presented by Universal Orlando Resort
and its newest theme park, Universal
Epic Universe.
Amid reports of potential studio
closures and mass layoffs, Microsoft has
announced the Xbox Game Pass June wave 2
lineup of games. It has yet to comment,
however, on this week's rumors that the
likes of Hellblade developer Ninja
Theory, Psychonauts developer Double
Fine, and South of Midnight developer
Compulsion may always be shut down.
Anyway, coming to Game Pass during the
second half of June in the early part of
July are EA Sports F26, which is of
course timed to coincide with the
ongoing World Cup. There's also RV There
yet, and Winds of Arcana Ruination.
Meanwhile, the 2021 Call of Duty game
Vanguard hits Game Pass this month.
Abyssus is out June 25th, and Tony
Hawk's Pros Skater 3 and 4 joins the
Ultimate and PC tiers on July 2nd. There
are no day one releases for the rest of
June with Jungster out today. Game Pass
soldiers on amid new Xbox boss Asha
Sharma's reset of the gaming business,
which looks like it will result in a
number of high-profile casualties.
Yesterday, the game business reported
that Xbox Game Studios boss Craig Duncan
had stepped down and news of various
Microsoft studios potentially closing
down emerged soon after. IGN has asked
Microsoft for comment, but it is yet to
respond. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has
said, "No one can accuse Microsoft of
not having invested for the last 25
years." Now, we have to turn this into a
sustainable business that delivers what
is fundamentally one of the best sources
of entertainment. Still moving on. As
mentioned previously, Hellblade
developer Ninja Theory and Psychonauts
developer Doublefine are reportedly
among the studios fighting to avoid
closure as Microsoft makes significant
cuts to the Xbox business. Bloomberg
reported that Compulsion, Ninja Theory,
and Doublefine are all negotiating with
Microsoft to potentially go independent,
although doing so would still likely
result in significant layoffs. UK studio
Ninja Theory is behind the technically
impressive Hellblade franchise, which
has struggled for commercial success.
The developer announced sequel Senua
just over a week ago at the Xbox games
showcase reveal event. It is unclear
what will happen to the game now.
Earlier this year, Doublefine, which is
behind the Psychonauts franchise,
released online multiplayer pottery
party brawler Kilm. Like Double Fine's
2025 effort, Keeper Kilm failed to make
an impression. Double Fine has responded
to the reports of its potential closure
with a single emoji.

June 16th. Now that you're caught up on
