[00:02] This is many a true nerd and welcome back to Boulders Gate 3. Well, last time back to Boulders Gate 3. Well, last time we explored the circus and okay, there is one very important unfinished bit of business we've got here. For just a five [00:17] grand, I can have a statue of myself in our campsite. And I feel like we definitely need to make that happen. There is, however, a couple of small issues we've got. One is I don't actually have five grand anymore. I kind [00:32] of spent it all on yes, a rigged genie game. And the second is I'm not 100% sure how I want the statue to be dressed because yes, while I found a whole bunch of outfits I sort of like, I've never found one I'm absolutely flipping in [00:47] love with. Though, one thing did occur to me. I have been thinking a lot about, yes, flipping a camp clothes and whatnot. But do not forget, I've also got Oh, I mean, that's a really nice outfit, and [01:02] with it that I think goes really nicely with my horns, but I don't love the color. However, I did just pick up a very large [01:14] number of new dyes. Oh, I'm going to be honest. That potent robe in the new purple, that's pretty nice, actually. Yeah. Hey, you know what? I'm going to wear that for a bit, though. I'm still not 100% convinced, [01:29] did she ask what I want to actually have on the statue? Seriously, there has got to be a clothing store somewhere in this corking set area. And speaking of which, right, we're heading deeper into Worms's Crossing today. So, we could check out [01:43] these buildings over here cuz there's definitely a few shops around here. So, maybe there's more further in this direction. And on the way past, direction. And on the way past, actually, oh, hang on. That is true. I [01:55] was saved from a steel watcher by a deep gnome a few weeks ago and then I was and check in with them. I should do that on the way past. Yes. Still, looks like [02:07] we're done with the circus for the time being. Though we may have to come back here later, if only because Yes. We've got to like, you know, bring Dribble's got to like, you know, bring Dribble's body parts back at some point. So, okay. [02:19] If we mosey down into town, it looked like Yeah. That gnome that tossed a bomb there. >> I think they ran off to Yeah. the right. [02:34] Ah, here we go. This would be Yeah. the path that leads back down to the bridge that we popped out under previously when we went through the murder camp that Bar had set up under the open hand temple. So yeah, just a mosy down in this [02:49] direction. >> And there's a cave entrance right here. And there we go. I think a nimble the gnome only just started running away though. Hang on. We're also right. We're in [03:03] someone's cellar, I think it said for a split second there. So yeah, just to grab the alchemy resources. You never know when we might need them. Follow know when we might need them. Follow these guys. They should presumably [03:16] recognize me because this is the same group I got out of prison. I think a bare minimum at least some of them are. So yeah, I think some of you should recognize me. >> The boss is expecting you. Hasn't [03:29] Moonrise, >> right? I am indeed recognized and currently at least welcomed. When you say the boss, [03:41] presumably you mean yes what's his face who we were warned previously might have gone a bit bananas. Ah though before we get to that we've got a new store here. So righty's selling smoke powder arrows are pretty [03:57] good in terms of yeah force damage cuz basically nothing resists force damage then yeah these guys are all about archery. every type of arrow you could ever want together with okay hang on special gloves of some [04:12] description and blime me you could sacrifice somewhere between a six and a 36 points of damage though if you had your piercing resistance you could have that to gain more movement speed and another [04:26] attack this turn that's sort of interesting potentially then we've got to yo Lovely gloves, but they only really work well for gnomes, halflings, or dwarves. I don't have a single one of those [04:41] inside my party, unfortunately. So, right. If I was playing as a gnome, those would be amazing gloves, but I am not. So, we've got Oh, unarmed weapons [04:53] not. So, we've got Oh, unarmed weapons that do bonus thunder damage. The thing is, yeah, Starion's my only puncher, and he's already doing lightning damage, which I think is a better cuz that means you build up those [05:05] lightning charges to give him even more damage and more accuracy going forward. Like, I'm not convinced those are as good. Yeah, I'm not sure I'm going to use them, but I will take the Marshall Exertion gloves just in case. So, okay. [05:21] Deeper inside the base, we've also got ourselves Oh, another flipping store. And it's Barkcus. Hello, Barkcus. Lovely to see you. So, right, Wbrun and Barcas are hanging out together. Even though Barkus [05:36] did say to me, "Hey, maybe stop Wulbrin. He's gone bananas. He's going to do a bad thing." Before I speak to Wulbrin, yes, give me an update, Barker. So, yes, give me an update, Barker. So, what's the latest intel? Woolrin is [05:50] planning something. Lots of moving parts. I'm still trying to sus the details myself. >> So, okay. You look very worried, my friend. I'm guessing. Yes. It is some sort of a rune powder nuke as we were [06:05] discussing previously. >> I am. I knew him rash, but this is unspeakable. Speak to him. Help him see sense. [06:19] Someone has to. >> So, okay, Wal Brener, me and you need to discuss this magical nuke you're probably building. >> Good to see you. Wasn't sure you'd make it to the city, regretting it yet. I [06:33] spent a lot of time thinking of worst case scenarios while I was locked in that cell you plucked me out of at Moonrise. I didn't imagine anything as bad as this. The Gondians have handed Envortach the means to bring about the [06:48] end of liberty in Boulders's Gate. And the citizens have rolled out the red carpet for the new tyrant. Resistance fighters are few and far between. My [07:00] iron hands. What's left of the Harpers and you. I hope so. Okay. Gorgeous is a dead man and that's reasonable. Carlike definitely wants me to say that. So yes, [07:13] I will agree with you that we need to deal with him, but yes, possibly for >> As long as our objective is the same, the reason doesn't matter to me. We have a common enemy, but neither of us gets what we want [07:28] but neither of us gets what we want until we deal with our biggest obstacle, >> the Steel Watch. They're a threat to you, me, and every man, woman, and child in this city. They act all civilized, servants of the people, but they only [07:42] servants of the people, but they only serve one man. When he becomes Grand Duke, IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Laws will change, freedoms will vanish, AND SOON YOU'LL BE ACCUSED AND SENTENCED BEFORE YOU'VE EVEN COMMITTED A CRIME. AND THE [07:56] [ __ ] GONDIANS ARE TO BLAME FOR ALL OF >> SO, OKAY, the Gondians presumably built the Steel Watch. And yeah, given we know well, we think there's tadpoles or [08:11] something inside the steel watch, given it was able to psychically communicate with my tadpole. Yeah, the Gondians might themselves be infected. My working theory is pretty [08:24] much the entire local Flaming Affairs Police Force has been infected. It's reasonable to assume if the Gondians can build giant doom robots, they've been infected, too. Perhaps all the more reason to get rid of them. [08:39] They invented the Steel Watchers and they're building an army of them. They've always been happy to provide their technology to despend and the freedom to work in peace. They would have licked Saraveox boots given [08:55] the chance. And now they'll kiss Gortach's ring while this city screams. I had a plan to put a stop to them. But the way [09:07] things are now, if we stick our heads above ground, the watchers are on us like flies on [ __ ] Okay. So, I'm guessing yes. So, your Okay. So, I'm guessing yes. So, your plan was use rune powder to explode [09:23] presumably like the factory where the gaunts make the steel watches or >> Same as it always is. eliminate the threat. In this case, the foundry where these atrocities are produced. The Gondians are ingenious, but we're more [09:39] than equal to them. There's nothing they can build that the Iron Hands can't tear down. I've built something unique for just that purpose. A room powder bomb. [09:52] First of its kind. 50 wizards hide on the weave. Couldn't summon this kind of firepower. Get the bomb inside the Gondian facility and boom. [10:04] Problem solved. >> Wulbrin, please. This is too far. Everyone in the foundry would be killed. >> Quiet, Barkcus. The adults are talking. >> Okay, I think I was pretty much bang on [10:19] from the start. Magic nuke of some description. But yes, it's possible the Gondians are, you know, victims of Gortach, not oppressors. Like, it's entirely feasible they might have been one tadpoled or two [10:35] their factory and forced to work under threat of something very, very bad indeed. I'd like to speak to them before we actually like, you know, trigger the >> The Gondians picked their side the minute they took orders from Gordash. If [10:49] they had any courage, they'd have refused him and died like heroes, spitting in his face. Now they'll die like the dogs they are. >> Okay, I'm going to go and speak to the Gaunts. I'm guessing their story is [11:04] going to be very different from yours. >> That's what I've been saying. There may yet be a peaceful solution. Fine. You want to try flapping your gums in the belly of the beast? Be my guest. But their idea of diplomacy is a steel fist [11:21] shoved where the sun don't shine. So take the bomb just in case I am right and you're wrong. >> And I'm going to say yes, if only >> And I'm going to say yes, if only because I'd rather I had it than a him. [11:36] He could do something a rash at some point. If I've got it, he can't detonate point. If I've got it, he can't detonate it. So I will take it, but we won't use it unless we have to. As long as you see sense, I don't care when you see it. The [11:50] foundry is in the lower city down by the docks. Beautiful building, belching smoke into the sky day and night. Getting inside won't be easy, but when you do, place the bomb at the heart of the facility. Get yourself back to [12:06] street level. The streets will be clear of watchers in no time. >> Okay. And there we go. Oh, I've got the room powder bomb. It is a bit on the room powder bomb. It is a bit on the heavy side, though. So, right, I'm going [12:21] to say Carlac, you're going to be the one entrusted with the bomb because one, you're already carrying like, you know, various explosive barrels, fireworks, etc., etc. So, you know, you've got experience handling explosives, and two, [12:36] I trust you not to detonate the bomb at an inappropriate moment. And I don't entirely trust, you know, Lazelle, Aarian, and especially myself with that level of restraint. Okay, that taken care of. Yeah, flick the lever here [12:54] presumably. Now we've done that, we could get up to uh hang on, where are we going to appear? Ah, the general store. That trap door we saw previously. [13:06] if I saw this last time I was passing through. There's a diary right here from Yeah, the blacksmith who well actually we time we were here because it was actually Orin in disguise. [13:20] actually Orin in disguise. But yeah, there's been a various weapons like infernal devil metal weapons passing through recently when they're passing through recently when they're supposed to be very very rare indeed. [13:33] Where are they coming from? Okay, that possibly means there's something bad going on we should investigate. But also, there might be a store selling, you know, evil cursed weapons or something. That sounds [13:47] awesome. Okay. And I tell you what, before we actually move Yeah. deeper into town and check out the other stores and whatnot. Yeah. over to the right here where we just were a moment ago. If we just keep following the path further [14:02] we just keep following the path further and further down. Yeah, we came out and further down. Yeah, we came out under the bridge here and turned left. So, I think that might be Oh, well, there's something here we can [14:15] well, there's something here we can investigate. Right, one dead refugee mysteriously level nine normally. Yeah, random civilians just like level one or something. So, okay, buddy. What happened to you? [14:29] >> Pushed. Felt bones break darkness. >> Okay. Pushed. [14:41] doesn't really know. Yeah. Who pushed him otherwise? Well, actually, corpses can be very unhelpful and literal. So, yes. Tell me about the last thing you remember. >> Man, [14:55] buying heirlooms. Vulture challenged him. >> That guy who was Yes. A spy on behalf of Sha who he ran into in the refugee camp. It must be him. And [15:12] speaking of which, apparently there was a gemless ring next to you. I hadn't noticed that, but apparently Arya did. brothers died on the road. The man tried to bite. [15:27] >> So, okay. There might be a brother to track down. Speaking of which, yes, you're next of Ken. >> None. might be able to use that to track down your brother. [15:40] >> Carrot. >> The spell's power waves. You can ask no more questions. Okay. Garrett's brother may be of interest. And yeah, check you. There we go. Gold [15:57] and a gemless ring. So, right, if I could find Garrett's brother, presumably there'd be a gem we could plug into that. And one assumes that would make something. Either something that somebody would recognize or want to have [16:12] back or maybe a magical artifact. So, go on them. We'll have that off you. J, on them. We'll have that off you. J, eyes open for any other gems that might need to be plugged into something else. In terms of him falling, [16:29] okay, there are cliffs around here, but they're not that steep. It feels to me like, yeah, if he was pushed off anything, he was pushed off here. And uh, hang on. You, buddy, were you just appearing over the edge for a second [16:45] the murder, right? We'll check in with you in just a second, my friends. Cuz yeah, I just want to make sure there's nothing else hidden down here on the beach before we go back up cuz I'm pretty sure Yeah, hang on. It was Yeah, [17:01] previously. That leads back to the openand temple. Beyond that, yeah, there's a path going in this direction though. Oh, just a dirt mound. Nothing too exciting there. Then again, I say that you're [17:15] pretty close by to that guy. It's possible the missing gem might be somewhere around here, too. And no, just some basic bits and pieces. And okay, I think that's the end of the line cuz yeah, there's a wall here. Well, I can [17:28] see a camp and some people on the far side of it. I can't even fly over to see them. So, I think that's just like, you know, some background detail letting us dotted along the river, but you can't actually get to them. So, uh, yeah, I [17:42] think that's all we could get from this location. So, in which case, yes, let's go and speak to that flaming fist, though. John, you were saying previously. Your working theory was the flaming fist have been completely [17:57] flipping infiltrated by tadpoles and gortach and whatnot. So, be a little bit careful. They might like, you know, be able to psychically detect you or something. But yeah, this might be a good opportunity to test that exact [18:12] theory. It's just mostly up to you. Talk about that murder. There's also a chest on route. That's lovely. Remember, you can fly cuz that's a thing you can do. Grab the chest on the way past, etc., etc. I do enjoy flying, by the way. [18:27] all this, you know, flipping, platforming, and whatnot. So, just check all of that. Make sure we can't. Nope, we can't go over there by the Lucy of it. So, up we go. Let's have a chat about Jess whether you're investigating [18:43] that murder. >> Bloody gnomes. We need to find where >> Bloody gnomes. We need to find where they borrowed themselves up. You you an adventurer looking to pad your purse? [18:57] Find their foxhole. Bring me their chief's head. The fist will reward you well. Okay. You're not interested in Garrett's murder. You're just Yeah. [19:09] following up on that gnome. Possibly one of them ran this way and jumped down to the cave. So, okay. I can't just, you know, snitch immediately. But sure, I'm willing to agree to that just in case ultimately it [19:24] turns out we do need to flip it being a stop wool. And when we do, we may as well get paid for his heads. >> Good. Sniff him out. Got him clean. Keep >> So, okay, just head back to the street and jam. We're now back outside the [19:40] Sheress's caress. But I'm pretty sure, yeah, there might be a few more stores here just on the ropes. >> Succulent seafood straight out the sea. >> The fish mongeries, would you believe, are primarily just selling a fish. [19:55] However, you sir seem a bit more interesting. Robber on silt and an art trader. You look like someone whose soul needs feeding. Care to buy some art? >> So, okay, I can very literally buy art if that's what I want to do. But far [20:12] more importantly, you're selling a flipping dice. Tragically, most of these I have seen before. Ocean was quite nice though. I will buy the ocean. I think we've used that up. That was pretty good. Purple as [20:26] well. I do like purple. And yeah, the red eyes are cobalts. which looks sort of bluish by the looks of it. Yeah, you can look at the actual flask to give you an idea of what it's actually like. So, we'll definitely be [20:41] buying that as well. And yeah, there's some dire remover. We've got plenty of that. Deep lilac. That sounds nice, too. We'll have all of that. And sure, black and Azour as well. So, right, buy all of that. That's fine. And yeah, possibly [20:54] his infantry like refreshes after a long rest or something. So, right, visit this guy again. He could be a good source of a dice going forwards. But yeah, what we've got to do now is just figure out to what's going on here. That's just a [21:09] to what's going on here. That's just a gach. Don't worry about that. >> So yeah, that's Sharesa's caress over there. >> What have we got here at the end before we get to [21:21] draw bridge. We've got that passport that we took from what's his face's corpse previously. So, yes, we've got Oh, >> more flipping earthquakes and the dancing axe pub. Hang on. [21:36] >> Okay, if we finally made it to you, we need to make a quick change to the team here. Jira, my friend, you're coming along for this. So, right, with you present, land some mo inside and yes, presumably get a much warmer welcome as [21:52] Harpers with me. >> Put them up. Put them up. Okay, this is not the welcome I was actually uh anticipating here. Who are you and what do you want? And if you want to punch someone as this one's [22:06] Nar. >> Yay. YOU SPOKE TO ME. NOBODY EVER TALKS TO ME. >> My name's Nar. Adventure to be. Soon to be the best adventure anyone's ever seen. [22:20] As soon as I figure out what kind of adventure I want to be. What do you think? Can I be a fighter? I mean, presumably if you want to punch, you ought to be like, you know, a monk or something. So, [22:33] okay. I feel like we can't really say to him less talking, more fighting. I'm a B. I talk my way out of a lot of problems. So, I feel like follow your dreams and find out just isn't a good thing to say to [22:46] this guy who doesn't seem well prepared for following his dreams of being an adventurer. So, let's just move over to someone else for just a second so we can like, you know, look at this guy and figure out what's going on with him. [22:59] figure out what's going on with him. Level one, tenin all stats. Level one, tenin all stats. I'm going to suggest a different career. I was hoping you'd say that. To tell you the truth, I don't actually like hurting [23:12] people very much or getting hurt. It's a good job I ran into you. Okay, I feel like we may just uh save this guy's life right there. Anyway, let's find someone who recognizes Jihira. [23:26] >> Hi, stranger. Thanks for stopping by K's GS. I'm calm. Well, calm men. What can I do you for? >> Oh, hang on. I think I may have just a [23:38] flipping walked into a clothing store by mistake. I thought this was supposed to wrong building, I may have just got into the wrong building. Oh, bloody hell. This is precisely what I was hoping to say. Oh, yes. Rather unfortunately, you [23:53] can't see what outfit's going to look like. It feels like you're selling Yeah. Like, you know, comfortable shirts or whatnot. I was looking for something maybe a bit like fancier. I mean, bare minimum, [24:09] about to make a lot of money from me buying all of them. Oh, and black and a furnace red. I've not seen that one before. That one sounds awesome. I'm taking all seven of them. Beyond that, the midnight outfit feels like it might [24:24] the midnight outfit feels like it might suit a star. So, I'll buy that for him. suit a star. So, I'll buy that for him. A ja the anarcho white outfit and the backless extravaganza. Are they just the same as that really [24:36] know, different colors and different patterns? I'm going to take backless extravaganza, but I'm not 100% sure about it. Oh, slightly different color. So, I wasn't 100% convinced to buy that despite the [24:52] fancy name. Now, as for that midnight outfit, though, as I was saying, I feel like that could suit a Starion. Oh, yeah. Having just messed with the colors for a second, I feel like potentially a star with the what was it? Black and a [25:07] furnace red on the midnight outfit. That works pretty well for him, That works pretty well for him, actually. Oh, yeah. He looks amazing in that. I love it. Also, I find this very irritating, by the way, calm, which is [25:22] Yes, there's a really bloody nice, snazzy dress up here on the mannequin, but I can't buy that one. You're just not selling that for some bloody reason. Oh, she's got a beautiful balcony, though. Like, this is a really big [25:35] balcony. big enough for like, you know, a long dining table with a view straight down onto the river and whatnot. Oh, that is spectacular. >> Hells, not this again. >> The brain appears to be resisting its [25:49] masters. It's acting of its own will. >> And right, another earthquake. And now a bit more detail from the emperor. [26:01] As we were expecting from what we've read previously, while the Nether Stones and the Crown of Carus have allowed these guys to control the Elder Brain, it's also maybe causing it to mutate into something nastier. Eventually, they [26:16] won't be able to control it anymore. Also, I 100% just went into the wrong building, didn't I? >> Yes, I just went into the wrong clothing store. We were looking for one of those, but I feel like yes, this just [26:29] isn't quite snazzy enough. We need to find a snazzier clothing store in like, you know, the city proper, the far side of this drawbridge, cuz right now we're still just on the outskirts of town. There's hopefully a fancier clothing [26:42] store deeper in the city. Right. This time, before we go inside, check the blackboard by the door. >> A hero is nothing without the right >> A hero is nothing without the right equipment. See Danthelon's Dancing Axe [26:56] for all your adventuring needs. >> Okay, this time we've got the right building. >> Welcome to Danthalon's Dancing Axe. Our stock isn't used. It's tried and tested [27:10] by the finest adventurers. >> So, okay, this place is maybe not so much a pub. It's like a store and also adventurous guilds. >> Greetings, sir. Your noble bearing brings a little class to my humble. [27:26] >> You can turn off the charm, Entharl. She's with me. >> Blueberries. Thought I had a sail. You look tired, Harper. You look tired, Harper. >> I missed you, too. They're already here [27:39] >> down below. Here's the key. >> So, okay. We were right to bring Jihira. So, the store is probably just a front to protect the Harper safe house given the steel watch outsides. Oh, and never mind. This isn't just, you know, a front [27:55] or anything. This guy's got a lot of real stuff on him. So, okay, a bow that's good at murdering gnomes or dwarves. Fascinating. Beyond that, yeah, weapon. So, basic weapons, but just a tiny bit better. Oh, this is cool [28:10] tiny bit better. Oh, this is cool though. Harmonic jeweler. So, yeah, this is a rapier, which is a really good one finesse weapon. And yeah, once per short rest, I can make a performance check and then if for 10 turns, add my charisma [28:25] then if for 10 turns, add my charisma modifier onto all sword damage. That's pretty bloody good. But yeah, I don't really use swords very often to be honest. Like in many ways, if I gone for swords bart, this would probably be [28:39] amazing. But yeah, for a lawb who's more about spellcasting, I'm not 100% sure that's going to help me that much. There's also some nicer clothing for a monk, but yeah, my monk uses a shield and medium armor, so let's not worry [28:52] about that. And another set of monk gloves as well this time doing cold damage, which I was about to say might be good if I could make the target wet for double damage. But yeah, we're already getting the benefit of yeah, [29:06] lightning on a fist right now, which would also get double damage from wet. would also get double damage from wet. So yeah, not convinced by that. There's also a very expensive set of gauntlets here for Lazelle. So, yes, her [29:19] maneuvers, that's her special battlem stuff, I think. Yeah, would be stronger, or rather succeed more regularly. Though, I've never really had a problem with Lazel's battlem stuff not succeeding. Like, it seems to work the [29:32] vast majority of the time anyway. So, yeah, for 2 and 1 half grand, that's a little bit expensive for my blood. I do however like this horns of the berserker. So as a passive feature plus two against any creature that's already [29:47] taken damage which basically everything has after the first turn. And also a blood thirst two necrotic damage for any unarmed or melee attack. But yeah, [29:59] you've got to also not have full health for that trigger. And if you don't do any damage, you take one to four, which would allow it to trigger the next turn potentially. So, I'm going to take that and give it to a star cuz that's pretty [30:13] be buying that statue. You're just losing more and more money. Though, I tell you what, while we're here, if we need a bit of money, just take Carlac back to the camp chest here. And also, do not forget to Yes. Give Star his new [30:31] do not forget to Yes. Give Star his new hat. Okay. He looks terrible in his armor. Oh, that's that's just dreadful, actually. Yes. Let's keep him in casual clothing. But yes, he can also pick up a giant pile of weapons, armor, etc., etc. [30:46] And then we could just flag all of this to you. Right, that's him cleared out. And we're almost up to five grand. So, okay, just got to find the right outfit ready for the statue. And right now [31:01] we've got that done. Presumably this will be the super awesome secret Harper clubhouse or something. And there we go. A lovely ladder down to the basement. And there we go. I'm seeing a lot of Harpers. Spot on. So yeah, with [31:17] hoppers on this side of the road and the ina hand gnomes a little bit further in that direction, there is a resistance we could call upon if we want to at some point to properly wage war against the steel watchers. Question is though, [31:33] yeah, who's in charge around here while Jihara's hanging out with May. Jihara's hanging out with May. >> Hi Harper. May Saloon's tears shine on >> Hi Harper. May Saloon's tears shine on this meeting. A very formal greeting. [31:46] Geraldos, >> you are well. >> you are well. >> Yes, Hi, Harper. Standing beneath Saluna's tears. >> The lad's a little nervous, Jihira. We [31:59] Kethic. >> Geralus isn't nervous. He's terrified. And he's using Saloonus tears as some kind of code. [32:11] >> I understand, Geralus. Take a moment. Take a moment. And you, Harper? [32:24] Doesn't she remind you of our old friend Marcus? Marcus? >> Jihira's meaning is clear. Marcus was a traitor laying a trap. The same, it seems, is happening here. [32:37] Okay, so somebody has infiltrated the Harpers, right? We may have lesser friends than I was hoping for. Looks like I just say Marcus had wings. That's great. So, okay. Do not talk about how Marcus [32:53] So, okay. Do not talk about how Marcus is evil. Do not say anything out loud. But yes, how about we just use detectctor thoughts, which I don't have, but I've got several scrolls for to figure out what we should do. like it's [33:06] a bit rude to prod in people's heads, but under the circumstances, I feel like it's probably a sensible option. So, oh dear, four to nine as a bonus. That rapture is possibly carrying me a bit right now. [33:20] Don't really want a tides to chaos for this. So, if we get lucky, really depends on Gosh darn it, the rapture did not help me that much. I should have plenty of inspiration right now. So try again. Come on. Just [33:37] anything that's guaranteed. Good, good, good, good. Oh, this time plus five. Whatever. Rapture. >> Oh, clever cob. This is an ambush. Strike first while they focus on me. >> So, okay. [33:53] Strike first. And I mean, she did just say strike while they're distracted. Hopefully, if we go for this option, that'll mean they're surprised because they didn't know we saw the ambush coming. So, fair enough. Go for them [34:07] now. And there we go. They're surprised. So, we've basically got a free turn right now. Good, good, good, good. That's worked out nicely. That's worked out nicely. Problem is, yeah. Why precisely? Oh, [34:21] this isn't just an infiltration. You're a cocking doppelganger. The question is, is that true for Oh, yeah. Every single one of you. The entire cooking cell has been replaced by doppelgangers. So, this [34:36] is the work of Orin. And rather unfortunately, right, Carl's up first, but she's got it stuck blocked at the back, meaning it's going to be difficult it would be great to get over to these guys because they're standing very [34:53] guys because they're standing very nearby to, you know, a big drop down to the water below. So, it would be amazing to give them a kick. Yes, everyone's in the way right now. If I was to, you know, jump over them, that would use up [35:07] my bonus action. So, at that point, I wouldn't be allowed to use the giant kick anymore or indeed a shaft. Those are both bonus actions, right? Yeah. shove and boot to the giants. Both bonus actions as indeed is mighty Impell and I [35:22] actions as indeed is mighty Impell and I need to be enraged for that anyway. So, well, this isn't ideal. If I was to Yeah. double my movement speed, she's got like 12 right now. Now, if I could get up to Oh, [35:44] boot of the giant to basically just knock one of these two people off the cliff immediately. Screw it. That's 100% what we're doing cuz that's too hilarious not to do. So, yeah, that should get me up to 24. Odd. [35:59] yeah, that should get me up to 24. Odd. Question is, what's the right angle to go for here? Because yeah, if you like get booted into you, that might stop you actually being booted where I want you to be booted and I can't really get into [36:12] a good angle for you cuz you might just be booted into that. It feels like Yeah, be booted into that. It feels like Yeah, the best option is over here. the best option is over here. So, you get to here and then boot you [36:25] So, you get to here and then boot you over in Oh, yeah. Oh, flipping. 85% straight off the cocky edge and down you flipping go. Hopefully she didn't have legendary gear on her cuz if so that's just gone forever now. So, okay, that's [36:41] all that yes can do, but luckily everyone's surprised right now. So that's not a problem. And you, my friend, hopefully you're planning to actually assist on the next turn. And okay, Jihira could just get in range of [36:56] okay, Jihira could just get in range of this individual. So yeah, go for a flipping lacerate. Everyone loves a lacerate. You can just get up to you. So a gosh darn it critical mess, but that's fine. You can sacrifice your reaction to [37:11] do like, you know, a little bit of bonus damage. So it's not that accurate. Still did the job on this occasion. And yeah, a flourish knock the target off of balance would work nicely. So yeah, bonus damage there, but you weren't [37:23] actually knocked off balance. A bit of an unfortunate turn for Jihara, but that's fine cuz we've got several more turns before they get to do anything. Jihara's mind. That should work out nicely. So, okay. What are your [37:37] weaknesses in good sir? Dexterity is good. Wisdom is poor. Is that true for all of you? Yeah. Doppelgangers possibly just all share stats. Looks like it. [37:49] Yeah. So, ice isn't going to work very well. They've got good dexterity, so they can avoid a falling prone. Wisdom, however, means that spells should work quite well for the most part. Speaking of which, right, let's just fly up here [38:03] of which, right, let's just fly up here with Ara for a second just to get around the back of I think it may have just triggered an opportunity attack there. No, I think I just got away with it. And yeah, hit this guy with a nice basic [38:17] thunderwave, though. Okay, I'm also blasting some stuff. Didn't really mean to do that, but we are doing that. So, right, level two are doing that. So, right, level two should be just fine. And we can't. Hang [38:30] on. Can we get you out the door? No chance of getting you out the door. Give it a go. Sent him flying. Even more damage as he falls. Spot on. So, right now, Arya has got the high ground and no one else is up here. But yeah, let's put [38:46] Hang on. For some reason, I can't actually see Jihira. Fair enough. In which case, yeah. Power up a Carlac so she can do more reliable booting down the line. And yeah, that's all we can [39:00] do. Now, are you willing to actually assist us? There's a hunter mark. And are willing to actually help us out. Good job, Geralus. Good job, Geralus. Yeah, this guy is now very vulnerable to [39:13] Star and also Brian. His intelligency is low, but not that low. So yeah, just getting over here and started going for him if we can. Nice 11 damage. Good, good, good, good. And yes, the star. This is where you're going to start [39:28] doing us some good work, my friend. Though, hang on. Just double check this here right now. Yeah, the helmet's not going to do anything. Wait, hang on. It's going to give you plus two to attack rolls under all circumstances. [39:43] But yeah, until you've taken damage, you don't actually do the bonus necrotic you're attacking, you don't take the an argument for deliberately taking one [39:56] single D4 of necrotic damage, just so going forward, you get all the necrotic damage thereafter. I love your new outfit, by the way. That has been a agonizing over Arya's wardrobe. But yeah, go in for a basic stunning strike [40:11] against this guy. That'll be fine. So, you're stunned. You can't really do anything at this point. And yeah, then just follow up with a few basic double punches. A nice topple if we can. And that's you nice and dead. And also a [40:25] flipping doppelganger. So yeah, we're just going to slaughter these guys before they could do much to me. And yeah, do not forget right now we've got an extra attack available. So, while I can't get up to either of these people [40:38] right now, if I was to uh hang on, can I do a push? if I was to uh hang on, can I do a push? No. A shove is a bonus action. Can I use my action in any capacity to get up to these guys so I could push them? I don't [40:54] these guys so I could push them? I don't think I can. So, instead, use the bonus action to activate step of the wind. So, I can actually move a lot further and I can actually move a lot further and then I can still use, yes, my flipping [41:07] extra attack to do a bit more punching. Not the best punching, but still better than nothing. So, yeah, just straight up punch you in the face. And there we go. We've got radiating orb on you, which is lovely. So, yeah, that's you guys mostly [41:21] already dead. And yeah, just to move Brian in the right direction, too. So, okay, back to Carmarmac at this point. though. Unfortunately, once again, I kind of blocked up this whole area, so she can't do much though. Uh, hang [41:34] about, hang about, hang about. Mighty impal, throw a creature or object, a medium-sized or smaller. By any chance, if I was to rage right now, hang on, [41:46] I've got no, I'm out of rage charges. Okay, can't literally can't rage at the moment. I've done too much raging already. Okay, even so, let's try out my new weapon. So yeah, we've now got a lovely throwing a trident here that does [42:00] an explosion when it lands. So that's a 90% chance to hit even with disadvantage. Hang on. If I move a tiny bit further away, do we lose the disadvantage there? [42:13] No, that's because Oh, that's cuz of mind readader. Got it. But it's 90% mind readader. Got it. But it's 90% anyway. So toss that at. Sorry, Arya. Didn't really mean to uh hit you with that. My mistake. So yes, that does go [42:25] up as well as out to the side. And then yeah, just keep tossing the same thing over and over again. It should be yeah, back in my inventory. And when it comes back, I auto equip it. So I lose the bonus strength from yes, the harmonium [42:40] jibble at that point. But that's fine because yeah, the extra explosion is pretty bloody good. So yeah, one more of them. More damage to Arya once again. Sorry about that. And then yeah, just get around the side so you can't get [42:55] get around the side so you can't get away from us. So, right, end your turn there. You don't get to do something. One fire arrow. No, actually, we're just going to shield. So, that basically doesn't do a thing. And you're possibly [43:08] about to be slaughtered by flipping. Yep. You just got slaughtered by opportunity attacks. Marvelous. Oh, and this is cute. By the way, there's a circus cage up here. So, in the event you hadn't been to the circus yet or [43:23] would point you in the right direction because now you would know there was possibly a connection between Orin and her doppelgangers and the circus. That's super cute. And okay, best as I can tell, aside from Yeah, the odd arrow or [43:38] whatnot. Nothing special on these guys, but we know where they came from. Orin and her ridiculously large doppelganger armor. >> Orin knows the hunt. In one stroke, she places the Harpers [43:52] beyond our reach, separates us from our pack. Until we know who the false facers are, we cannot trust anyone beyond ourselves. >> So, okay, the safe house is no longer safe. Possibly everyone who was here is [44:07] safe. Possibly everyone who was here is already dead. And yeah, why would Orin already dead. And yeah, why would Orin target the Harpers specifically? A shame of mine redoubled because I did not tell you [44:20] everything sooner. Tell me, what do you know of a man named Minsk of Rashiman? [44:34] >> The name is as familiar as Jihira's own. A hero of the time of troubles who saved A hero of the time of troubles who saved the city more than once. Okay, I'm guessing yes, that's someone from Bouldersgate 1 and 2, who possibly I've [44:49] actually, you know, encountered in the past in Bouldersgate 1 or two, but I've forgotten cuz it's been many years since I played them. So, okay. I'm not going to admit that, though. I'm just going to say, oh yeah, I 100% know who you're [45:02] talking about. That's fine. >> But few know of his fate, I think. >> I had hoped to keep it that way. Minsk is an old friend. Perhaps my oldest. We fought at one another's backs times [45:18] beyond counting. And the last time I saw him, I left him to die. >> Okay, I'm guessing there was a good reason. >> Before we ever heard of this absolute, [45:31] we received word of a gathering in the unders city. What we found was the first dark seed of this plot. A circle of cultists with mind flares in their [45:43] midst. We might have ended it there. Cut off at the route. But before I could off at the route. But before I could send for help, Mince charged in alone. send for help, Mince charged in alone. It was chaos. He was overrun, dragged [45:55] down beneath a mass of tentacles. I had a choice. stay and let word of this cult die die with us or leave him and live to fight another day. >> Okay, so you left and potentially that [46:11] >> Okay, so you left and potentially that means now he's been tadpoled. We might means now he's been tadpoled. We might need to Yes. track down and kill a like, you know, former Bouldersgate protagonist or something. That's pretty [46:23] cool. The world takes much from those who presume to defend it. But sometimes who presume to defend it. But sometimes you get to take it back. So don't be sorry because I mean to use you if you're willing. [46:39] Infection, indoctrination, eradication. That has been the fate of everyone the cult has captured so far. But it has not been yours. With your help, perhaps it need not be Minsk's either. [46:54] >> Okay, so you want us to try and rescue him, though? I'm worried this might be she might just be desperately hoping for something that she knows probably isn't [47:06] bloody true. But yeah, why hide this from me previously? >> Because I was playing the pragmatist and writing my friend off for dead. Then I met you. If I seem suddenly flushed with hope and [47:21] soft feeling, you have only yourself to blame. >> Oh, the point is moot without a means to find him. Without the Harpers, we shall have to find another path. I'll have a better idea of what that is once we're [47:34] through the gates. Seems I need to reacquaint myself with this damned city. >> So, okay. The fact I exist and have survived has maybe given us some hope. [47:46] The same could be true for her old friend and got it. Are you doing okay by the way, Geralus? Because everyone you know is like, you know, killed, replaced, etc., etc. >> Did I Did I get it right? [47:59] >> Shallunist tears. It is said no false face can stand beneath their light. An old code, Harper. But yes, you got it right. Now I need your report. [48:11] >> We had eyes on suspected cultists in the city like you asked. We thought we were tracking them, but >> they were tracking you instead. Evidently, doppelgangers. [48:24] >> And they're not just working with the cult, our high harper. They're part of it. Ballists, I think. Ballists, I think. >> Sworn to or in the red. Yes, we've [48:38] >> Sworn to or in the red. Yes, we've already had the pleasure. Go on. Everything seemed fine until your latest orders. Until we started to search for the Rajimal. They struck the same night. I [48:52] woke to one of them strangling Chelvin while smiling at me out of her face. She said it said that I'd report back to you as normal. Lou, you here. And [49:08] I had no choice. I'm sure it felt that way, Geraldos. The others were likely dragged back to Orin, tortured, sacrificed. [49:25] to risk Enthal, any citizen who might have wandered in, there is always a choice. And the Harper must be able to make the hard ones. Perhaps this isn't the life for you [49:39] after all, Geraldus. >> No, Jihira. Hi, Harper. Please. I'm still a Harper. I want to help. >> You've scarcely signed up, boy. And there is a war coming. [49:55] Why die a Harper when you could still live as anything else? >> Okay, he definitely messed up a bit by, you know, going along with this in some capacity. here. But he did also successfully warn us. And as a result, [50:09] we just slaughtered those guys without it even being that difficult. So, I don't think we should make this choice for him. If he wants to stay, he should be allowed to stay. [50:24] >> I want to fight for Kelvin, for all of them. So, it means something. >> Death is death. To look for meaning in it is foolishness, boy. Childish storybook [50:38] nonsense. Exactly the kind that Harper would spout, I suppose. Fine. I have no right to make the choice for you. Not when this mess is of my making. I sent the Harpers hunting after [50:54] the cult without thinking what it would mean to be hunted in turn. Now they are compromised. And if not for you, I wouldn't even know it. I am sorry, Geraldos [51:07] Harper, and I owe you an apology as well. I haven't told you everything I hope to learn here today. First, Geraldos, you're the last Harper in the city I can [51:20] you're the last Harper in the city I can rely on. Lay low and rest while you can. I have matters to discuss with my friend here. Okay, so Geraldus remains a Harper. And for the time being, aside from him, we just don't know who else we [51:35] can trust. And okay, back to Jihira, who was saying a second ago, yeah, she wants was saying a second ago, yeah, she wants to track down Minkx. And in which case, how would we do SA? >> There might be, but [51:50] it's not a path I dread until we must. Let it wait until the city proper. then. >> Okay. She has a plan, but it sounds like it's a very cocking bad plan. So, she doesn't even want to talk about it just [52:06] yet. Though, speaking of the city proper, I believe we're now done with Yeah. everything I can find around this bit of Boulders's Gate. Everything else [52:19] is now pointing me deeper into the city. And I've got the papers that should let me go there. Assuming the steel watches don't immediately ID me and like, you know, stop murdering me or whatnot. Oh, though, hang on before we actually go [52:32] there. Yeah, if I just go to the back door for a second. Mosy in this direction up the stairs. There's one more room over here. [52:45] Hang on. Is this anything to do with the Harpers or is this unrelated? Hang about. Hang about. Hang about. Aarium, I've got a job for you. Okay. Whatever's going on here, it's not a particularly tough lock. And uh hello, sexy. [53:00] There's some rather sexy alchemy equipment floating around in here. Oh, yeah. Some proper rare ingredients and everything. And okay, whoever this belongs to. Uh hang on. That just opened up a new elixir. An elixir that would [53:17] up a new elixir. An elixir that would unlock malevolent powers. So, okay. Obviously, we're crafting that. Yes. And another even a stronger elixir of another even a stronger elixir of strength for two. Okay. So using that, [53:30] if I use a tadpole power, I gain advantage on all attacks for three rounds, which is pretty good. But presumably sonic weakening is the downside. So yeah, my saving throws leave me a lot more vulnerable. And [53:44] bloody hell, the cloud giant potion gets my strength up to 27. That is ridiculous. So, okay, back downstairs. Can I talk my way past all of you guys? And presumably, yes. Inside the flaming [54:00] fest, a blaze is like, you know, a relatively high ranking person. That's all your name's Blaze. It's hard to say. >> Sorry, chum. Can't let you through. Worms rocks closed for the day. >> But what if I was to have, say, oh, I [54:16] >> But what if I was to have, say, oh, I don't know, a special invitation? Maybe. You don't look the posh sort. Last door on the right. Go on, make Mary. [54:30] Mary. >> Lower the gates. Special permission. >> And there we go. That's good enough for Charlottton inspiration, meaning we can Charlottton inspiration, meaning we can now just walk straight in. So, okay. [54:43] Straight on through. No trouble, guys. No trouble. Sorry, didn't mean to click >> Halt. We do not know how you gained entry, but We do not know how you gained entry, but your trespass shall not be punished. [54:58] Lord Gortach has been expecting you. >> The Watcher's presence fades, but another takes its place. Confident, dominant, commanding. [55:10] dominant, commanding. >> My most esteemed guest, we meet at last. I am Lord Envortes. You are the prisonbearer, slayer of the dread, General Ketrick Thorne. I welcome you to Boulders Gate, my city. [55:26] >> Okay, so I fooled the guards out front and that got me past the gates, but I can't fool Gaut. He 100% knows I'm coming. So, okay, how about for now we just say you Okay, I was going to say that as [55:43] like, you know what, a cunning a lie. so we could get up to him in order to stab him. But I feel like Carl won't approve. I'm just going to say the city will never be yours because I feel like Carl would be happier with that. [55:55] >> It already is. Granted, there are a few formalities to complete. But well, why don't you come and see? Allow me to formally invite you to my inauguration. Make your way to the ceremonial hall. [56:11] >> Okay. >> I feel like possibly Yes. Gautach is several steps ahead of me here. And hello sex in the side room over here. [56:23] We've got ourselves a right a new fast travel point. Spot on together with yes, what would appear to be the entrance to possibly a much bigger area than I was expecting given. Yes, there's passageways going underground, etc., [56:38] etc. >> This is the armory, not a bloody open >> This is the armory, not a bloody open house. Fists only. Now clear off. house. Fists only. Now clear off. >> And okay, there's also an armory here. [56:51] >> Trade. Do I look like a shopkeeper? This Do I look like a shopkeeper? This equipment isn't for sale. It belongs to the Flaming Fist. >> Okay, so possibly we may have to uh come [57:04] back here and rob the joint later. though. Then again, using my incredibly powerful deception abilities, Lord Gortach did just say I ought to like, you know, come and chant you guys about equipment or something. Oh yeah, DC of [57:19] equipment or something. Oh yeah, DC of only 10. Spot on. SO, ANYTHING BUT ONE OR three will be just fine. And okay, for the most part, just a standard for the most part, just a standard equipment plus one or plus two. In fact, [57:31] yes, literally nothing but standard equipment plus one or plus two. Very disappointing. Clay are okay. Meanwhile, on the other side of the fortress, on the other side of the fortress, there we go. The audience hall though. [57:45] Also, Mizora's here for some bloody reason. Everyone seems very calm about a devil just floating around in this hallway. So, okay. Under the potentially we might want to uh go and grab a will before we go any further. [58:00] Still, I would say having infiltrated the Worms Rock fortress. Ah, how about we call it a P there? But next time, okay, we've been invited to come and chat with Gautach. And I've got to think, plan A is Yes. trying to turn him [58:18] and Orin against each other. There is blatantly a ballist conspiracy to undermine the cult of the absolute. She's got her own stuff going on, just like Kather did down the line. If I could get those two to turn on each [58:31] other, doppelgangers versus steel watches or whatnot, that can make my life a lot flipping easier. And on top more business for Will as well. So yes, indeed, plenty more to come next [58:45] episode. So hopefully you join me for that. But in the meantime, I've been John. This has been many of True Nerds, and this has been the wonderful Boulders Gate 3. Thank you very much, and goodbye. [59:00] So, okay. Um, I've been outwitted by a butterfly and beaten up by a fish. >> Stop right there, criminal Scott. >> I didn't steal anything. I'm sorry. I TOUCHED THE SHOES WHILE I WAS SHOE SHOPPING. OKAY, I feel like I may have [59:14] just um walked in on something. What about this person? Can we torture this
